Yumi took the signal to leap across the street alone rather readily as they continued on their path along the city, bursting across this gap much more easily compared to the one that came before. She didn’t need a run up this time, instead just pushing her distance from one building to the limit before her tendrils of electrical energy latched onto the next building, flowing down to it with some grace andpoise as she actually landed on her feet this time, shooting a smile back across to Hachi as she heard that they were to remain in the area and scout a bit, leading the blue coated red head to scoot up to the edge of her rooftop, peering over the streets below.
Seemed Hachi was both going to be testing their attentiveness but also giving them a chance to ask questions. Briefly Yumi thought this might be a good chance to ask about some real world experience but…also, what did she need to know? Or heck, even if she did need to know about it, what benefit would it do her hearing it second hand and not experiencing it. Hachi was a wealth of experience and knowledge, but there was only certain kinds of experience that can be shared. What was she to ask? Hey, how do you make a judgement call between saving a life and bringing a dangerous villain into custody. Afterall that was always gonna change. Saving the life trumped out in most situations, but sometimes you had to consider. Where there other heroes who could save them? Where there other heroes to catch the villain. How many lives may the villain take if they’re not stopped there and then? It was all hypotheticals, and the most Yumi expected from that, or similar questions, was the moralic choice of the moment. Save the civilian…but those judgement calls were gonna be based on gut, and Yumi’s personal experience, it wasn’t something Yumi could ask about.
She remained silent on the matter, letting the other’s ask their questions. She debated turning off her quirk for a moment so she wasn’t a glowing blue light above the crowd below. On the one hand knowing a heroine was watching would deter crime in the area, but that may only relocate it. On the other, if she wasn’t as obvious, crime may more readily occur, but in an area she was observing…
To play it safe, she left her quirk on, keen eyes scanning the crowd as best they could, resting a foot over the small railing that coated the edge of her rooftop.

Feng hears the order and camps out at her current position as order Hachi, keeping her eyes wide open for any suspicious activity. Since this is the part of the job where it gets a bit slow, she takes the opportunity to do some breathing exercises to prepare herself just in case. Oddly enough, memories of her mother doing this sort of thing comes up and how she always took her along when she was younger. The feeling of cold air blowing through her hair, the distant sounds of the crowd down below, the fragrance of various foods could be smelled nearby her location, the bright city lights that illuminate the night sky, it was sight that she could never forget. Keeping careful watch of alley ways and parts of the crowd where it was denser with people. Various types of advice that she told by her family start flooding back as she remembers as her father would always keep watch of certain types in the crowds and who to notice an easy mark. The loud types who cause trouble, the quiet types who can be unpredictable, the huge types who are a coin toss, the small types who are the same, a lot of people to watch out for since trouble comes in all shapes and sizes.
Though this was also the opportunity to ask Yellow Jacket some questions, but she had to be careful on what kind of question would come from her. A personal question would be lovely, but her mutation is different compared to hers. Maybe a question about what to do in this line of work and what comes in decision making but this sort of advice would also vary from hero to hero and many factors go into it as well. As she was pondering on what to ask, Angel went ahead with the first option which covers it. Yumi remained silent on her end, probably feeling the same way about the matter. Which doesn’t help with a situation like this, but Feng could also be overthinking it since its mostly just small talk to pass the time. She took a second to gather her thoughts and asked away.
“Yellow Jacket, despite all the danger and weight on one’s shoulders for an occupation like this…Do you enjoy being hero? and do you have any advice for us for the future?”
She earnestly asked as she watched the streets below, keeping a mental note on certain groups that catch her eye. An odd-looking pair or two, the occasional drunkard, a group of friends who seem to arguing trivia and tastes in characters, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Though it is fun to people watch, seeing all sorts of people out and about at this time of night. But it could all change in the matter of seconds, all it takes is few gunshots, a knife being swung by a man, a rogue quirker, and so on.
Feng kept her foot on the edge of the rooftop as she maintained her breathing, feeling the heat spread through her body. Better to stay at the ready than frantically start running towards the destination.

But remember from here on in, History has its eyes on you. Hachi glanced in the direction of the building Yumi was stationed atop as her voice came over the headset, though the angel of which they were both positioned didn't give her much to see. The outline of white wings and red hair was still noticeable at this distance, but at the moment she wished she could see her face. That was a somewhat loaded question she had just asked. Especially given what she had read in the girl's file.Feng's question came as well, which was somehow easier and yet trickier to answer. She stalled for time as if she were thinking over both of them intently. In truth she just wasn't sure what to say to either of them. Why did she think it would be a good idea to let them ask her anything? Because it was important for them to voice their concerns and to get to know their mentors and teachers and heroes better. Yet Hachi was not and never had been good at interviews, even more relaxed ones like this was turning out to be. Brilliant.Well, in any case, there was nothing she could do but speak the truth. "My childhood was...odd. I was born an egg, to two entirely human looking parents. But I was, perhaps, very fortunate; my mother and father had both developed their own Quirks late in their lives and had been lonely because of it. I don't think they ever thought they would have a child at their age, or that the child would be, well, like me. But my mother loved honeybees," she sighed, part amused and part exasperated, like this were something she had been told herself a thousand times in her life. "So she wasn't afraid of me. My parents were protective of me, given my appearance and...softer outer-shell, let's call it. I was teased and occasionally bullied by some of the other students in my class. But...others were simply fascinated by my Quirk in a positive way. It was those people and my parents who helped to cancel out the negatives. Not perfectly, of course, but enough that I was never really ashamed of myself, or of my Quirk."I know it wasn't like that for you. I can sympathize, but I cannot lie about my own life. I'm sorry, Surami-kun.Hachi's eyes trailed over the crowd, catching on those among it with hair of various impossible (at least in a time before Quirks) hair colors. Yumi was being silent. Perhaps she was more focused on the task at hand an uninterested in asking questions, or wasn't sure what to ask in the first place. Hachi could encourage her at some point to be more open with her thoughts, perhaps, but for now she was partially grateful to only have a couple questions to answer. Now onto Feng's...Do I enjoy being a hero? Her already small mouth thinned into a line....do I?"If you phrase it that way, Typhoon Dragoon, I'm not sure if I can say yes. Not many people I know in the world enjoy their jobs after all." Opening with a small joke helped to disguise the unease hidden by her face and voice. "I'm kidding. In truth, I didn't plan on being a hero, or a vigilante before the chance was there. I did want to help others, that much I knew--I simply never had the the thought of honest-to-God heroism in my head. So when there was a chance to help people in a way that...well, suited my capabilities, I leaped for it. And I did the same when the chance to do so legally instead of as a criminal. So, yes, I do enjoy, but it still isn't something I had ever dreamed of becoming."
"So to answer your second question with my own: did you always want to become some kind of hero growing up? Was it that you wanted to help others, and saw this as your chance to do so? Or is there any other reason you have for choosing to go down this path?"-- TL;DR: Time for some actual Q+A from a hero, or some time for the girls to bond! Here are our locations: Red+White Star: Angel; Red+Orange Star: Feng; Blue Star: Yumi; Yellow+Black Star: Hachi. :3c

| A s her mentor told the story of her birth and that her parents had discovered their quirks late in life and were lonely as a result. They also weren't expecting to have her,but once they did they were extremely supportive and weren't scared of her at all. It seemed that even when Hachi was indeed picked on for being a mutant by the other kids her family seemed to always make it better with their love and support. Upon hearing this Angel felt her hands grip the edge of the building she was perched on until she heard it begin to crack thanks to the force she was putting out as she pictured how her father would beat her mama and emotionally and physically torture herself. Upon hearing the cracking Angel quickly let go and just rested her hands on her knees as she kept her eyes locked on the streets. "It's good to know that in a world of monsters there's still a few saints out there."After saying this Angel went completely silent as she listened to Feng ask their mentor if she enjoyed being a hero. It was quite the large question even though to most it wouldn't seem like it. To civilians the pro's heroics were exciting and amazing to behold, but to the pro themselves who technically worked for the government it was just a job that just happened to help keep people safe much like a regular first responder. Angel silently listened as their mentor explained that she truly never planned on becoming a hero until the job actually became an option so while she did enjoy her job it wasn't a dream goal unlike it was for the three female students she was leading. As Yellow Jacket asked Feng if she always planned on becoming a pro hero and saw this as her chance to do so to help others or was there other reasons she chose the line of work besides that of helping others. This question quickly began to burn inside of Angel's mind as her answer seemed to instantly form in her mind and yearn to escape and so while Feng thought of her answer Angel decided to chime in though her tone was not the usual hyperactive one she normally uses, but instead one that gave a peak inside her soul to the pain and trauma she kept deep within and hid behind layers of jokes, one liners, smiles and quips. "Before U.A I spent my entire life under the boot of someone truly vile. They were my very own super villain under my own roof. The entire time I only had one goal. I dreamed of breaking my shackles and gaining freedom for both myself and my mom. Once I made that happen I made a vow to myself and to the world at large. I would never again allow another innocent soul to be subjugated to that kind of pain as long as my heart continued to beat. I vowed to end the hatred and separation between those with quirks and those without. I became the Angel of mercy that would watch over those below her and keep them safe from the vile beings of this world no matter the personal cost. I refuse to break that vow my mentor."This was the side of Angel that most did not get to see unless they were within her inner circle. This was the strong yet damaged soul that had been forged in the fire's of torture and pain that stepped out of something new. It was the soul of a loving guardian. |

The answer Feng got was not what she expected, part of her felt she was going to hear the same old spiel of hero work and what not. But this was an answer that threw her for a loop, one would never expect this sort of answer from a hero, not the least from an instructor at UA. Though hearing this kind of answer does put this sort of work the three of us were doing in perspective. What exactly are we getting out of this? This sort of occupation is no different from being a fire fighter, a police officer or a paramedic. The only change is that they have special abilities that makes the job easier than the average quirkless. But what is Feng getting out of this?
The thought of home and how they were against this sort of work echo in her mind, but then again, she would have to go into the family business which is kind of a mystery to her. Memories of that faithful day where she had to save her father from an angered thug and where she decided to become a hero. What was it that wanted her to be a hero? It couldn’t be just helping people that dragged her in, she doesn’t have that sort heart to have a pure goal as that. Was it the rush of excitement when she could finally fight? Testing ones strength against stronger individuals was something she always striving for, to see how strong she can get and see how far she can get with it. To increase her skills to the point where she can leap vast heights without a worry in the world, but is that a goal a hero would strive for? The question that was reflected at her proved most difficult to answer clearly as various answers came up in her mind, but which one rings true?
Feng quietly thought about her answer as Angel gave her reply to Yellow Jacket. What did she come into hero work for, what was the appeal of this sort of occupation to her. She easily put her skills in other fields, some not so clean as the one she is doing now. Her gaze at the city around her slowly started to give her response. Thinking about her battles, her lessons, the people she has met along the way, everything that has happened to her so far. She took a deep breath and waited for Angel to finish her answer., as soon as she finish, she gave her answer to Hachi’s question.
“To answer your question Yellow Jacket, growing up I didn’t have any sort of grandeur goals for the future. The thoughts of being a hero stuck in the mind during middle school after a incident that put me in the center of seeing a family member about to get seriously hurt in the balance. I simply chose to take action and it felt right in the moment. Though it got me into trouble afterwards and I got out with a few injuries and warnings. But I have zero regrets of what I did on that day and given the chance to do it again, I would. In a way, I’m striving to become a hero in hopes that will bring a bit more good into a world like ours. At least that’s what I hope I’m doing right…”
Feng answered without missing a beat as she watches the streets down below. Her speech at the festival before she was defeated start popping up in her head, the passion in those words she remembered vividly. A part of her wondered if the passion she felt was real or was she spouting nonsense to a stronger individual. But she hopes the answer to her question will show itself in the future.

But remember from here on in, History has its eyes on you. Everyone had their own reasons for being here today. Sometimes those reasons were simple--she was here because it was her job, obviously, but she was here in the first place because of so many, many parts of her life that pushed and pulled her in the direction that lead her to this spot, this job, these children. Angel's life had not been one of happenstance and chances and a simple wanting to do good. She'd been born into a hell that could have very well ended with her death long before she understood what was happening to her. Her escape had given her the passion to become a hero; but that life could have just as easily turned into one of bloody, hateful vengeance against those like her abuser.
Yet she'd chosen to become an angel of mercy rather than an angel of death. At times the world was cruel for the right reasons. Still, Hachi would and could not ever say that her passion was worth the suffering she had to endure. She would have been better off had none of it ever happened, even if it may have cost her the drive and passion to save others--to become a hero.
Pain like that isn't worth anything.
"I'm envious. Not of the situations you have described, but that you both have so much hope in heroes bringing good to this world. Even though I am one of the first heroes, you are the generation that will see if that hope comes about, or not. If you continue forward as you have, I have no doubts that you will bring that abo--"There was suddenly the sound of static in Hachi's left earpiece, and she flinched, tapping on it twice. The signal wasn't the one she had attuned to the pieces she gave the students; it was the one that connected to the police scanners. The one that answered calls for heroes. She felt a chill go down her neck, her spine, and coil up in her stomach. Now? Here? While she was with her students? On one hand, if this was an emergency situation, it would be perfect to test them in the field. But if this was something serious...well, she couldn't just ignore it and hope another hero was in the vicinity. That wasn't how this worked. She had one option. Hachi spoke, monotonously, into the line with her students: "I'm receiving an incoming message from the local police. Please stay quiet while I listen to it."
Not two buildings down the street from them, there was a sudden swell of uproarious voice. People scrambling out of fire exits and entrances alike. They moved in waves, crashing into others in the street, until a great enough space began to form around the building. No doubt that was related to what was coming in on her scanner. Hachi paid it no heed for a second to listen.
-- TL;DR: STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT POST...

Are you ready
FIVE MINUTES PRIOR... A busy day on the fifth floor of Akihabara's "Culture Zone" was like all other busy days working retail. Or, at least, retail when everything in the shop was catering to both local and tourist otaku. The customers were chatting, looking over the various costumes, wigs, and accessories this floor-wide cosplay shop had to offer. Everything had a certain anime, manga, or game that it was inspired by (or ripped-off from). It fit in perfectly among the many other "geek culture" shops in the building; cafes for watching anime with food inspired by said shows, mini-figurine shops, even stages on the top and basement levels for idol shows. It was every nerd's paradise--though, really, that could be said about Akihabara in general. The lull of late-day shopping had hit and there weren't as many in the shop anymore. One or two excited girls holding school uniforms to each other and squealing about something, a lone gentleman sorting through an array of masks and gloves, an employee fixing the hair on a wig that had been placed back on the shelf oh-so-rudely disheveled. It was quiet enough that there was no white-noise; everyone could hear one another fairly clearly, though nobody minded.A figure walked into the shop as unassuming as all others who came and went to the shop. Somewhere between their teens and late-twenties, just a little too thin for their height, a little too stiff to appear comfortable in public, with a hoodie with long rabbit ears hanging from the hood shrouding their face. A normal sight to those working at a cosplay shop. The employee--a middle-aged woman dressed in the required uniform, plus a red "STUDENT COUNCIL" band wrapped around one arm as "flair"--approached them as they came in. "Welcome to ACCO, Akihabara's widest selection for all of your cosplay needs. May I help you to locate anything, sir?"The person under the hood tilted their head so their eyes were visible rather than hidden behind the cloak. Pure white, save their pupils, which were a light purple in hue. Their eyes stared at the woman from over their sharp cheekbones. For a moment, just a moment, the employee stared at their eyes.Just a moment. The person smiled, though nothing kind or friendly was in it."...no. I already know what I'm looking for."Withdrawing their hands from the single pocket of their hoodie, the person reached forward, and their pale, bony fingers stretched towards the woman's arm, pointing at the red band around it. The employee looked confused, then, with a small step backwards, asked aloud, "This band? I c--"The red thread of the armband suddenly came undone, like one had sliced through its seem and had begun unraveling the cloth in one swift pull. The thread didn't drop, however; it moved like it were alive, thin and stronger than simple string should have been, and in hardly a second it had wrapped around the employee's throat so tight that her eyes bulged out of her skull in an almost comical manner. Her breathing was completely cut off and her hands rose up, trying to claw her nails underneath the thread that was suddenly so strong that she could feel her skin cutting under it. The person in front of her let out a small laugh at her try."Stop struggling, if you don't stop it will cut your head off."--"ATTENTION HEROES IN THE CHIYODA WARD NEAR THE AKIHABARA STATION: THERE IS A HOSTAGE SITUATION IN PROGRESS ON THE FIFTH FLOOR OF THE AKIBA CULTURE ZONE. I REPEAT: HOSTAGE SITUATION IN PROGRESS ON THE FIFTH FLOOR OF THE AKIBA CULTURE ZONE.""SUSPECT HAS REPORTEDLY TAKEN FOUR HOSTAGES. NO REPORT ON HOSTAGE SITUATION ON THE UPPER LEVELS. LOWER LEVELS HAVE BEEN EVACUATED--FIRE ALARM WAS PULLED, NO REPORT IF BY THE SUSPECT OR A BYSTANDER. NO REPORT OF SUSPECT'S APPEARANCE OR SPECIFICS OF THEIR QUIRK. SUSPECT APPEARS TO BE WORKING ALONE. LOCAL POLICE ARE INCOMING TO DETAIN THE SUSPECT.""HEROES IN THE AREA, ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE BUILDING AND RELOCATE HOSTAGES TO A SAFE LOCATION. I REPEAT, ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE BUILDING AND RELOCATE HOSTAGES--DO NOT ENGAGE THE SUSPECT IN COMBAT UNLESS NECESSARY. SUSPECT IS ARMED AND DANGEROUS, I REPEAT, SUSPECT IS ARMED AND DANGEROUS."--The hero Yellow Jacket audibly cursed into her microphone."There is a hostage situation on the fifth floor. Four hostages, status unknown. Suspect is in possession of a Quirk. We are to enter the building, relocate the hostages to a secure, safe location. Police are incoming to detain him."There was a pause, then a follow-up:"We are not to engage in combat unless it is absolutely necessary. I should not need to tell you what that means. I will see if there is roof-top access so we may enter from above if need-be. Angel of Mercy, Typhoon Dragoon, and Curved Lightning, move toward to the closest building and make an entry to the fourth floor with as little noise as possible. They'll know we are coming but not where we are coming from. Keep it that way so we will have advantage."With that, there was a blur of yellow and black as she took off toward the rooftop of the ACZ building with all her speed.

| A ngel felt a couple of happy tears escape her eyes and roll down her cheeks as her mentor told her students that despite her being one of the first pro heroes in the world it was their generation that could bring a new found hope to the world. As their mentor began to speak about them bringing about something she was soon cut off and her expression turn sour as she told her students to remain silent as she was getting an incoming for the police. To this Angel just nodded and stood on the very tip of the building to the point where the tips of her shoes hovered over the edge and her carefree expression turn to one of serious business as she thought to herself. "This could be it! This could be our shot."It wasn't long until Yellow jacket told the group of junior heroes in training that there was a hostage situation of four individuals in the culture zone on the fifth floor and that the perp was in possession of a quirk. This fact caused Angel to squeeze the handle of her Triple P as Yellow Jacket gave them their orders of relocating the hostages to a safe location so that the police could move in to detain the criminal. Yellow Jacket then told the group that they were not to engage in combat unless absolutely necessary. To this Angel nodded. "Yes Mam'e."The three junior heroes were then told that their mentor would head to the roof of the Culture shop to see if their was a roof access point and then told her three charges that they were to head to the closest building and make an entryway to the fourth floor with as little noise as possible so they could keep the element of surprise. To this Angel once again nodded before taking to the air as her mentor sped off. Once she was gone Angel quickly flew toward the galleria making sure to point at it so that her companions knew where she was going. Once she landed she quickly scanned the Culture shop across from her finding a series of small windows on the fourth floor. Once she spotted this she pressed the communicator in her ear to speak to her companions. "There is a series of small windows on the side facing us. I can use my Triple P's blade to cut an entry way for us spy movie style. C.L. once inside can you use your quirk to kill the lights long enough for us to get the hostages out? We don't know what the perps quirk is or how far it works so I think our best bet would be to blind him so he can't see us get them out. If we can make an opening on the fifth floor I can lower the hostages to the ground. T.D. you're faster then me when it comes to foot speed so you're our best best to actually get to the hostages. That's my plan, does anyone have anything better?"With her plan laid out Angel quickly and silently flew over to the window and flipped the third switch on her parasol's handle so that she could pull out the full blade. She then slowly carved a circular hole into the pane and then quickly returned her blade to it's casing so that she had a hand to catch the cut out bit of the pain as she curled enough to fit through the hole before motioning for her team mates to join her as she lightly sat the glass down. |

Yumi had only half been listening to their teacher answer the questions of the other interns if she was honest. After the first set of answers she’d been focusing a little too hard on the street perhaps, narrowing her eyes and trying to pick out examples here or there of potential crime. Of course even keeping a keen eye out she couldn’t really expect the real danger that suddenly blasted out (unsure if its on loud speakers or their headsets are tuned into it from the way it was captilized).
Hachi made sure they all knew the drill…or, the reality as it were. They had to be on the scene and make sure not to engage. Just rescue any of the hostages they could. With a firm nod in the direction of her teacher Yumi set of, blasting across the rooftops towards the scene with her lightning quick speed…though she did pull back a bit when she realized the others were lagging behind a little, skidding to a halt atop one of the buildings close to the scene. With Hachi’s orders, she was tempted to ask if she had indeed meant for them to collect on the 4th floor and not enter on the fifth, but it did make sense to collect themselves as close to the scene as possible without setting off the person taking hostages.
“Roger, Curved lightning will approach from the ground floor.”
With the others caught up Yumi dropped down off her rooftop, carefully firing out her tendrils of electricity to slow her decent into a blank spot on the street beside the narrow stream of people exiting the building before they dispersed into a larger, messier group.
“Alright everyone! Let’s not panic. Pro hero yellow Jacket is on the scene!” Seemed they’d gotten here just as some stragglers from the higher floors were getting out, so the crowd outside was mostly people just catching their breath and looking back on the scene they’d fled with some confusion. Yumi had to rush onto the scene but…
She’d make sure only one or two people were still coming out of the building at a time before addressing those around her. “We’d like to ask you all to stay calm as things progress here. Trained professionals are on the scene, and while it is a registered term now, we don’t want anyone endangering themselves trying to play her.” She rested a hand on her chest and tried to keep her voice raised but calm for the civilians. “I, curved lightning, assure you we will be doing our utmost to resolve this situation peacefully, we only ask for your co-operation. Please refrain from re-entering the building. If items are lost or individuals you care for cannot be found, please address all your concerns to the authorities. They will be arriving shortly.”
The crowd wasn’t easily put at ease, and questions were shouted out over the murmurs of the crowd, but Yumi couldn’t really do much about it. She raised her hands with a clear “I’m sorry, I am, but I really must get going…!”
With that, hoping the cops would arrive soon, Yumi rushed into the building. Her first choice was the stairs, but…if this was some big hostage scenario that was an obvious choice to keep an eye out, so Yumi turned to the elevators. Normally it’d be very easy to tell someone was coming up there too, but she had a trick up her sleeve, calmly approaching the buttons of the lift as she heard Angel’s plan over her earpiece…
Wait…if she was four floors in the air, how could Yumi still hear her? That was well over ten meters…
Okay, not really important right now.
“Angel, as good as that sounds in practice, turning the lights off on them may cause them to panic…Yellow Jacket?” She’d ask cautiously. If she was checking out the roof she’d be further away, but Angel was proving to her the range on these things was greater than expected. “Would you like to confirm Angel’s plan or arrange another?”
With that Yumi had the elevator on the ground floor. Her hand to the control panel, she shorted out the system as best she could. It was a risky move but she’d been training this well. An elevator wasn’t really a complicated system electronically afterall, so Yumi managed to short out just the lights telling people the elevator was approaching their floor or moving away. With that, Yumi entered simply, not wanting to cause further damage to the building, and hit the 4th floor button. She did however make sure to keep the system charged so the doors did not re-open on the floors between, not wanting to terrify civilians trying to escape by the fact she was moving TOWARDS the danger.
On the fourth floor, she’d simply exit the elevator and look for her fellow interns.

Feng listened to Hachi’s response as she watched the streets below. It’s somewhat comforting hearing those words come from a pro-hero, but also carried expectations with it. All the responsibility on her shoulders and the consequences of her failing. The fear of failure and going into the abyss to save lives, to be able to come back from it all to do it all again. How the public will view her and how critical they will be of her work. All of it is rather daunting when one looks at it from all perspectives, but to avoid having a panic attack via overthinking about the far future, she just must focus on the task at hand and hopefully not mess up. While watching the streets, she heard police sirens nearby and she had a feeling that something is going to happen soon. Though whether it was good sign or not was depending on the fact that they get to do their job or not.
“I have a bad feeling about this…”
Soon after hearing police sirens, without missing a beat Yellow Jacket radios in about a situation that is dangerously close by. Our mentor gave us the run down on the situation: four hostages, one suspect, and current status is unknown. Objective is to get in and save the hostages without causing much noise, a fight is not advised unless the situation calls for it. A delicate situation if one were to go in blind and recklessly. Feng could feel her heart pumping a mile a minute, she went through a wide range of emotions within a matter of moments. Her first actual experience in the field, no training dummies, no safety nets, no robots, all real. She listened to Yellow Jackets briefing as she did her best to control her breathing and not get anxious; safe to say that it is helping but she now has to strategize on what to do moving forward. Keeping in mind her limits, environmental factors, and the unpredictability of the suspect.
But during her moment of thought, Yumi and Angel went on ahead to enter the building. In the distance she could see a flood of people running in a panic about the situation. Feng took a deep breath and jumped from building to building, thinking about her best course of action. The urban jungle that was a joy to jump around now became a maze for her body and mind.
“Roger, I’ll look for an entrance through the second floor. If no options are available, I’ll try and meet up with Yellow Jacket on the roof. Typhoon Dragoon out.”
She reported in as she made her way towards the building. Seeing the crowds of people forming down below and gathering around to see what was going on. The crowd was especially huge this night given the district they’re in and the time. It’s going to be dangerous, but she trained non-stop for a day like this, just got to push down the anxiety and do what she does best. To prevent any issues down the road, she did her best to conserve her stamina as she made her way to the building via breathing techniques and not using quirk excessively. As she drew close to the building, Angel chimed in with a plan she hatched up. It was straight forward and rather risky given how unpredictable these sorts of things are. Nice on paper, but too risky in her eyes due to the hostages and area they're in.
“Angel, we don’t have visual on the suspect and zero clue on what he can do. Also best not all of us enter through the same area, never know when he could get the drop on us? I'll meet up with ya'll through a different route.” She said as she made her way to roof of a nearby building that is near the area of interest. Quietly landing on the roof, she made sure no one saw her, and nothing was nearby. Her eyes scanned the area around for an entrance and to her luck, a open window could be seen that was just her size. Though she listened for a bit to make sure it wasn’t a trap, and no one was hiding in there. After making sure the coast was clear, she quietly entered through the window via use of her quirk. Being vigilant to land quietly and no mistakes were made. She quietly made her way to the stairwell and kept her senses sharp as she made her way up the stairs towards the fourth floor. Controlling her breathing and making sure her footsteps are quiet to be extra safe in her approach old family tricks are now coming in handy in a situation as dangerous as this.
As she got to the fourth floor, she made sure to not blow her cover and went on to look for the hostages. Keeping in mind to meet up with her teammates.
"Do not engage the suspect unless necessary...I hope it wont come to that.." She thought to herself. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TLDR:
-Feng was the last to get to the scene
-Said her thoughts on Angels plan and waited for Yellow Jacket to respond to Yumi’s proposal.
-She made her way to a nearby building to enter in from the second floor without using too much energy.
-Entered in through the second floor of the building and slowly made her way to the stairwell.
-Traversed the stairwell cautiously as she went towards the 4th floor

Are you ready
The crowd had given enough room for Yumi and Feng to make their way through it to their respective entry-points. As she tried to ease their concerns and fears, Yumi would get more than a few whispers and shouts and looks; for as strong as she was and as desperate as these people appeared to be, it would take more than words to reassure them that the teen before them was an honest-to-God hero. And yet there were a few faces in the crowd that seemed less than weary. Relief or awe or some mixture of both passed among those closer to Yumi's age. Though they weren't the majority of the crowd, it did appear that she had reached a few with her words. Good. Over the radio there was another crackling of static as Hachi responded. On the first or second floors, Yumi and Feng heard more radio silence than words--like the one speaking was on the very edge of the radio's range--but Angel could hear it clearly. " A black out will tell them you are coming. It's not a bad plan, but it will ruin the element of surprise. If you believe it's your best course of action, then proceed." With that the line went silent. Angel entered the building to find herself among shelves upon shelves of model trains, war vessels, and miniature cars. The lamps in the ceiling above were bright and white like those in a hospital, drenching everything in so much light that nothing had a shadow beneath it. Yumi exited the elevator into a similarly bright shop filled with rows of books--manga, game manuals, and genuine literature alike. The shops were not separated by "walls", but rather by high enough slabs of wood or stone to hide even the tallest individual from sight, but still with enough space above each for a person to climb over. Feng made it up the stairwell to the fourth floor exit, a helpful shiny sign labelled "4F" signalling this was where to get out... --
BAD LUCK ROLL: FENG
--
Upon opening the door to exit the stairwell, however, she would hear a sound like the snapping of a rubber band from just outside the door. No such band could be seen. Yet on the floor there was a long, thin black thread. There was no sign where it could have come from, nor if it were the source of the noise. Still, it was there, whether Feng took notice of it or did not. The three were reunited, and, apparently, absolutely alone on this floor. Not a sound could be heard. How much time did they have to prepare and enact a plan?

A movement can be "flying up to X" or "running up to Y", while actions can be anything combative such as fighting, defending, or dodging. You're free to add as much fluff around that as you want. Talking is a fluff action most of the time, but make sure you're not standing there monologuing. You will get hit. Reminder: this is not a DE thread! Nobody (at least among the PCs) is at risk of getting beheaded or suffocated or anything else. However if you aren't careful, or you do something stupid, or you miss a round and not post before the 48 hour timer, YOU WILL GET HURT! Non-lethally, but still possibly BADLY! | A s Angel waited for her team to join her on the fourth floor she was slightly despaired to hear that none of them not even her mentor thought that cutting out the lights was a good idea because while sound in theory cutting the lights would not only tip off the bad guy,but also would most likely cause the very captives they were attempting to save to freak out and possibly get hurt. This revealation caused Angel to cross her arms and lean next to the whole in the window as she waited for her two team mates to arrive. The first to join her was C.L who had chosen to go from the ground floor and up the elevator. Once she arrived Angel nodded to her in greeting. "Hey C.L."Once Feng joined the pair so that they were once again a trio Angel gave Feng a little wave noting that while C.L. had used the elevator Feng had chosen to use the stairs. This got Angel thinking of a possible way out for the hostages. They had been ordered to stay in the shadows and not fight the big bad,but in order to free the hostages Angel was having trouble finding an alternate solution. That is until she remembered once more of the elevator and it's shaft. They would have to make a sacrifice of their safety in order to get everyone out safrty. There were no other options that she could think of and time was running out. "Girls I know it's risky and like our mentor said we would lose the element of surprise, but I am having a hard time thinking of another plan and we don't have time to stand around discussing it. If we cut the lights that will give T.D. and I the time to reach the hostages and lead them back toward the elevator where C.L. can use her power to lower them down quickly but safely. I know it's risky and it may end in us having to defend ourselves until Yellow Jacket makes her move, but i'm asking you to trust me this one time. If we work together I know we can save everyone while making sure that the bad guy doesn't escape. So what do you say? Are we go for Operation:Blackout?" |

Yumi honestly wasn’t too surprised with the impression the crowd left her with. A lot of them definitely seemed unsure or even put on edge that a fresh face like hers was on the scene and that was entirely justified. She couldn’t blame them for that. A few faces did seem weirdly put at ease though, and that did make her feel a little better. She was trying to do a lot lately to tackle her natural self doubts, paranoia, anxieties. As peppy as she was afterall she could really go off on one when left with her own thoughts. One of her new mechanisms was trying to just focus on the positives, or heck, just the reality of a situation. On the positive end, some of the people around her age were impressed, and that was definitely a good feeling. On the other hand... anyone who did seem to doubt her had every right to. It wasn’t an insult, it didn’t necessarily mean she wasn’t ready, they just had the same niggling voices she had, and a rather dangerous situation that, rightly so, no one should trust someone her age to handle alone. Up on the fourth floor, Yumi could just barely heard the words of their teacher but…well, she didn’t remember how tall the building ultimately was but she was convinced she should definitely be out of range even here. She wouldn’t comment on it right now and was in fact just glad for the guidance. As angel insisted on the plan however…no. Yumi might have normally rolled over and accepted the plan but-
“That’s just not going to work…” She interjected. “For starters, we need to keep damage and casualties to a minimum. If I shut the lights off, tensions immediately get high and we don’t even know the situation we’re walking into. Plus, I have NO idea if I can pull this off. The most I can do with other electrical items is…fiddle with a few buttons. I try shutting down this places power, I might get a light to flicker, or heck, go all the way off the other end and fry the area’s power grid. This isn’t exactly an exact science.” She raised her hands, fingers parted, electricity buzzing between them.
She took a breath and tried not to sound hostile as she continued. “If the risk was on our end, fine, but you’re putting a lot more faith in my quirk than you should. What would happen if the elevator malfunctions and a whole elevator of bundle of civilians we just rescued plummets 5 floors? I know hero work takes some courage, but I’m not gonna put them in harms way…plus, if it’s dark like that, and we don’t even know what we’re walking into, THEY have the advantage. They know their numbers, and the environment, we’d be walking in literally blind…”
Glancing to Feng as she came up from the stairwell, Yumi started heading towards her. “I say we at least scout things out before acting. I’ll shut my quirk off so we’re not so obvious.” With her sparks dying down, she’d tap Feng on the shoulder and rush the rest of the way up the stairwell, unaware that Feng may have just had an odd experience in there on the way up.
TLDR
Yumi denied Angel’s plan and gave concrete reasons why she won’t do it, as it’d be very risky for the civilians and give the bad guys an advantage since they havn’t scouted Rushed for the stairs, turned off her quirk, tapped Feng on the shoulder to indicate she should follow (movement / action) (If not stopped she’d try to open the door onto the 5th floor)

The crowd outside was hit or miss on Feng’s confidence on handling the situation like this. But never mind them now as there’s still the matter of the mission at hand and Yellow Jackets words echo in her mind as she sneaks in. Luckily the second floor wasn’t occupied, and the power outage helped with sneaking in. The floor was eerily quiet aside from the sounds of the crowd that could be faintly heard outside. She could feel her heartbeat getting faster as she continued onward as various scenarios start playing out in her head involving hostages getting killed, one of the team members getting killed, serious injury, an all-out fight against the suspect, and so on. But after a minute of that, she quickly snapped out of it as she approached the stairwell.
“So far so good, Dragoon...” She whispered to herself.
Opening the door and making sure it didn’t slam was a monumental task considering that there is a crazed individual holding hostages in. But she did it nonetheless and continued, making sure that she didn’t make much noise on her way to the fourth floor of the building. Many thoughts still plaguing her mind as she moved on as the reality of the situation is still baffling to her. Dreaming of doing something like this and doing it is something she has always kept in mind but the weight of it was always the same. It’s between her, her teammates, the suspect and the hostages. Did she train enough for a battle like this? But doubting herself now would only make her anxiety skyrocket even more, especially bad in a time such as this.
As Feng arrived on the 4th floor, she made sure that nothing was watching her, unnecessary but she had to make sure to be safe. She went up to the door and carefully applied some force to open it, only for a distinct snapping sound to ring out in her ears. Which startled her as she readied up her fighting stance as she opened the door, only to find no one is there. Noticing the long thin black thread on the ground which intrigued her, but she had no time to inspect it, but she made a mental note of it as she went on ahead to meet up with her teammates. In front of her, she sees Angel and Yumi who arrived ahead of her from their respective routes. They both started discussing the strategy on how to get the hostages out and came at a disagreement on how they should do it. She listened in on Angels plan of action and various doubts start popping into her head. As good as the plan sounds, something bound to go wrong and Feng damn well expects it considering they don’t know the entire situation at hand. She watched corners and the area around them as Yumi voiced her disagreement to the plan and made sure to note several issues with it. Both sides have their points but considering the stakes here, an ambitious plan like Angels should be used as a last result considering they are all in a new environment and have zero info on the suspect. Feng took a deep breath and considered her options before putting in her two cents into this little talk.
“As much as I like the plan Angel, we can’t risk everything now considering we don’t know where the hostages are…” She calmly started off as she kept watch, “…We also don’t know what the suspects quirk is and considering the black thread I found earlier on my way here, he may have a trick up his sleeve for quirk users like you and me…in fact he may even know we’re here and we gotta put the hostages safety above all else…and we need info, I’m going with Curved Lightning to make sure nothings changed up there…” she ended off as she started to control her breathing to ready herself for the battle ahead.
As Feng readied up, Curved Lightning went past her and tapped her shoulder to signal that she going to scout ahead. She rushed on to meet up with Yumi, quickly stopping her to talk to her before they went on. “So what do we do if we run into the suspect before we get to the hostages? I’m damn sure the sound I heard earlier was a trap to notify him that people are in the building…”, she asked before the two of them rushed to the 5th floor. Whatever happens, she is prepared for the worst case scenario and ready for the fight for her life.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TLDR:
-Met up with Angel and Yumi
-Voiced her thoughts about both of their plans, siding with Yumi considering the stakes.
-Stopped Yumi for a moment to ask her about a back up plan.
- Followed Yumi to the 5th floor, readying for a fight.

Are you ready
Without a concrete plan of action, their best option was to try and survey the situation on the floor above, then come up with something better suited for everyone's individual skills. Up the stairs from the fourth to fifth everything was quiet. No more mysterious black threads, no apparent traps laid in wait for approaching task forces. Perhaps it was an utter coincidence that Feng had found that thread on the doorway. But perhaps whatever it had been--be it an alarm system or something else--was all the culprit believed they needed. Such a thought could be either foolishly cocky or dangerous. The door from the stairwell deposited Yumi and Feng into a hallway, once again not lined with solid walls but instead with those tall pieces of sturdy wood. A few directional signs told them which shops were on the floor, and there were only two, each taking up one half of the floor itself: an anime-themed cafe and the ACCO Cosplay Shop. Everything was quiet. Not at all like how a brightly lit center should be. The silence and the wooden "walls" made every little audible noise sound so much louder than it should have been. But that may have been only ones imagination and adrenaline playing tricks... ...or not. What was not ones imagination was the faintest shuffling coming from the shop on the right, like something heavy was being dragged very slowly as to avoid making more noise than it already was. It was coming from the anime cafe. It could be the villain patrolling, or a hostage being forcibly moved. Or it could be an obvious trap. What would they do?
