Post by Principal Kobayashi Touma on May 21, 2018 13:53:15 GMT -4
C-IED class Monday at 1600 sharp for the following students: Cross Nicholas, Kurama Rinkusu, Mason Sadie and Konto Niso. The same class will be dispensed to every heroics course student in due time. Gear is allowed. Tardiness isn’t. Any and all absences will have to be justified through the proper channels.
- Principal Kobayashi ToumaWith this rather cryptic e-mail, sent to the students through their school-provided phones, the ex-military school principal of UA informed his students he was about to teach his first class which didn’t consist of making them exercise to the point of utter exhaustion before pitting them against each other in various competitive activities. Many students were already comparing his insane teaching style to boot camp. They were absolutely right.
In Mr. Kobayashi’s opinion, they were not high schoolers, despite what the Ministry of Education insisted on. They were training to be a highly-specialized law enforcement and disaster relief unit, akin to SWAT team or a special forces commando whose operational capabilities extended to rescue efforts as well.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose. If he had it his way, none of this would be happening, and actual military recruits would be picked in the middle of boot camp for special forces training, not high-schoolers, and there would be none of that sponsoring nonsense either. He was but a lowly lieutenant, however, and by a strange twist of fate, now a school principal in charge of turning schoolkids into capable soldiers. He reminded himself of the reason he chose to undertake his job again, like a mantra. Get out of your military mindset, Touma. As much as he thought it, however, the UA school principal knew only one thing, and it was JSDF procedure, hence this formal, almost robotic demeanor of his.
Casting these thoughts aside, he got up from his desk, gathered his files, and headed towards the designated exercise area. The student body already joking about the principal and the files he seemed to carry around everywhere he went.
The area in question was a disaffected warehouse, situated at about a ten-minute walk from the school. It had been bought as part of the land where the facility had been built. There were plans to build a small, deserted city block around it for training purposes, but a lack of funding meant that the only hint such a thing was gonna happen in the future was a dug-out area next to the warehouse with bags of cement in it. The work on the foundations hadn’t even begun.
The students would find their principal standing in front of the main entrance, nodding at them as they arrived as a way of greeting. Once the four-man team assembled, he cleared his throat.
“Good day, everyone. I am glad to see none of you is late. We will now begin the counter-IED exercise.” “IED stands for Improvised Explosive Device. In other words, we will be simulating the disarming of a bomb. A hero and criminal teams have been randomly drawn. Kurama-san and Konto-san will be the heroes, while Cross-san and Mason-san will play the criminals.” “As it is only the beginning of the year, we won’t be working with live explosives just yet. You will be using this,” he said, drawing attention to the aluminum suitcase next to him. “Inside is a panel held in place by four screws and a screwdriver. The task of the hero team is to unscrew the plate and out cut the red cable, which will mark the end of the exercise. The criminal team needs to hold out for fifteen minutes to be declared the victors. Please be aware that this does not simulate real explosive ordnance disposal work in any way. The point is to make the disarming part of the exercise a time-consuming activity you are allowed to carry the suitcase, but taking it out of the building will result in an immediate loss for your team.” “Both teams will be judged on their performance in either guarding or disarming the device. The exercise will be repeated with different pairings, so every student will get a chance to practice both sides.”
His hardened gaze passed over the four students. Channeling the special forces drill instructor of his formative years, he made himself look as judging as possible, in order to get his trainees to take the exercise as seriously as they could. Students, he reminded himself, not trainees.
“That will be all. Any questions, before we begin?” (ooc: the layout of the course is the following: www.pbbomb.com/images/laser-tag-map-1.png )

They had put Nick on the villainous team. He was not sure how to feel. On the one hand, it was only a training exercise, not something to take personally and still educational to him. On the other, however, he felt a bit offended. Was it because his Quirk was, he quoted, ‘frightening?’ They were damned fools if they were among those that thought so.
Well, that and it reminded him of how the Gifted Underground were viewed as villains by most. Which they were not. They were only trying to protect the Quirked. It was not their fault if the Quirkless authorities had muddied people’s views of them with their slander, slander that had forced them to take more desperate measures to make themselves known. Speaking of, why the hell was their principal Quirkless? It grinded his gears.
Either way, he said nothing as he took the briefcase, entered the warehouse and immediately glanced around to assess it. His given alignment aside, he took some enjoyment in the fact he got to wear his costume for this exercise, and for the first time. His costume consisted of a crisp white two-piece suit, the jacket fastened up by small, circular black buttons over a crimson shirt and cravat. On his hands were crimson leather gloves bearing black metal studs on the knuckles, while on his feet were flat crimson leather shoes with black metal caps. It was designed to look stylish while giving him some extra damaging ability for when he was left in his vulnerable state, minor though it was. He had not gone overboard with it, tempting though it might have been; his real ‘costume’ was the armour given to him by his Quirk.
At the very least he had not been paired with Rin this time. Not that she was not taking part in the exercise, as fate once again seemed destined to keep bringing them together for reasons he would really like to know at this point. No, she was on the opposing team – the ‘heroes’.
If she thought he had forgotten how she bailed on their previous exercise and refused to show him the full extent of her Quirk, she could not have been more wrong. There was no getting away from this time. He had told her he would find out, had he not?
He turned to face his partner: ‘Sadie’, he believed her name was. They had never interacted before, so there was little he could say about her. He did not know her Quirk, which was not exactly helpful. He suppressed a sigh of frustration at this.
“Okay,” he said. “My Quirk is specialised for up close and personal melee combat. Rin knows about that from my previous exercises with her. I happen to know that although she’s told people her Quirk is just a stamina boost, it’s really something to do with her blood. You’re probably best to deal with her, since she doesn’t know your power, I’m assuming – and you’ll probably have the element of surprise, since she’ll likely be expecting me. I’ll take Niso on.” As much as he wanted to fight Rin himself, he wanted to win a lot more. And choosing to fight someone who knew your power over someone who did not was not the smartest way to do that. “We need a way to separate them, I would say.”

| Well this was an interesting concept. One that wasn't completely without it's annoyances since it required her to stay at U.A. a bit longer then she wished to, but this seemed like something she wasn't going to be allowed to skip out of. So here she was, out in the training area, standing as far away from her assigned partner as possible. But still close enough where neither of them had to raise their voice to speak with each other.
But Nick, or at least that's what she thought his name was currently looking over his costume with what could only be described as a small smile on his face. However, from Sadie's end the entire get up looked gaudy. He looked like something out of a low budget mobster flick instead of a hero. Hell he even had the suitcase to go along with it.
Her costume on the other hand, seemed a bit more practical. Although they didn't give her much say in how it looked. They just asked for her quirk and it's weaknesses and went along their way. Sadie was planning on complaining about the uniform but wasn't given much of a change to complain. Her costume consisted of black combat boots, a pair of capris made of cut resistant fabric that ended up right under her knees, a see-through mesh body suit that went under everything that had similar properties and a black reinforced biker-style jacket on top. The final piece was a watch on her wrist. Nothing to fancy about the watch, it was just water proof.
But Sadie hated her costume, she thought it looked disgusting and she wasn't a fan of the direction it took. But for now she was required to wear it. "My quirk is none of your business but I am close ranged as you are. But you are being a chicken shit about hitting a girl then I will take care of her. It's not like this isn't suppose to be combat practice."

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy This was a divine punishment for what had happened a few days prior, Rin was absolutely certain of it. The runin with Nick, postponing their conflict till another day. A day in the distant future that may or may not ever arrive. Of course, that distant future was no more than a couple of days. The class president was almost in visible pain, as she arrived onto the training area to receive their briefing. The task ahead of them was relatively simple. Unscrew the suitcase, cut the wire. Without live explosives, it made Rin feel a little more comfortable about the whole situation - not that she had any delusions that she might actually compete against the villain team. It was simply an impossibility. That was the thought rummaging through the girl's mind. However, when the sapphire blue eyes fell upon Niso, Rin shook her head side to side. Having little confidence in herself was one thing. Not trusting in a partner, not giving this exercise her everything, something else entirely. Rin was wearing a skintight hero costume It kept tightly to her skin, revealing much of her curvature. The costume designers had mentioned being appealing. Rin couldn't help but shake the feeling that what her outfit truly went for, was sex-appeal.Around her waist, she had a clip-on utility belt. So far, all the compartments to the belt were empty. Rin still wasn't entirely sure which items or tools that she'd be bringing into combat or rescue scenarios. Getting used to wearing the belt was still appropriate however. The outfit left the very top of her torso bare, making the proportions of her cleavage clear to any viewer... Rin was not comfortable wearing her hero costume yet. It felt a little too exposed. Now that an exercise was being undertaken however, she had very little time to consider the upsides or downsides of a costume. If Rin was to provide Niso a fair chance at passing this little test with a positive response from their overly terrifying principal, she needed to dedicate all of her attention to the trial ahead of them. Taking a moment to sit down with Niso, Rin was deliberately feeding him as much information as she could, noting that his hero attire was a little... different. In addition to him having the same corpse-like smell about him."Okay. Here's what l know of Nick. The boy is purely focused on close quarters combat. When he transforms into his armor, he is strong, fast. Strong enough that catching one of his baseball tosses hurt." Rin began, making sure to speak at a tempo where the important bits were highlighted. "..He looks like a brute, but he's proven that he's not all brawn with no brain. He does think. That is not to say he cannot be outsmarted. I doubt they'll underestimate us, but that might be to our advantage.."Rin continued explaining. "I have a few ideas on how we could make things easier.. but if you have any good ideas, maybe we can come up with a good way to win?" Rin was clearly the intellectual type. Rather than focusing on strengths and weaknesses, she was focusing on opportunities.

Called out for a training mission out of the blue, Niso was a little worried that he was getting picked out for not managing to attend the first rescue operation class, but as he realized the class president was on the list of names that'd be attending, he knew full well that if he was being picked out, it was likely just to finally get a read of his quirk. Afterall the prez had to have attended the rescue op right? So yeah, it was probably just...some normal class.
One he worried he might be under-prepared for...while he knew rin seemed nice enough from the group chat, Sadie clearly didn't like him due to his scent. It wasn't his fault he had to work with corpses now was it? As for Nick, he had little clue, but the guy seemed rather...imposing, in class, but then again he was half asleep all the time, so he might just be getting the wrong impression.
On the day of the test he suited up in the hero gear he'd requested. Despite his want to be a hero, he had no delusions as to the nature of his quirk. When he'd described the outfit to the suit makers, he'd wanted something like a modern plague doctor, someone commonly seen as an omen of death but known to do great work healing the sick and injured. What he'd got had indeed fit the description, but also seemed to have an intimidating air to it. A black hooded coat that was long enough to reach his knees, a cross-strap pack with small pockets for first aid supplies on the front, and some room for a small corpse on the back, and finally, a gas mask, and green shaded goggles. The Gas mask sadly couldn't be made functional, but at the very least, it blocked out the scent of his own corpses, which was good news for him.
When the situation was finally explained to him, he worried briefly about the bomb before he was reassured it was fake. What did worry him some more was the two people that scared him most in class were apparently on the villain's side...great...just. Fucking great...at least he had the class prez on his side, that had to come with some sort of bonuUUUOOOH GOD what was she wearing!?
He hadn't really taken her in till the two of them were stuck in a team together, but that deep cleavage of her costume was not helping him give her his full attention...okay...it was just some boob...with a deep, vader like breath through his gas mask, he turned his eyes to her and maintained solid eye contact as she spoke...so that was Nick's power? He still didn't know Sadie's, but that was certainly something.
"I break like a twig." He stated bluntly, he'd managed to dislocate an arm when struggling with a jammed door once. He'd been controlling 3 corpses at the time sure, but he somehow doubted there'd be ANY point in this mission where he wouldn't be doing that. "So it'd probably best I don't ever go up against him...I don't know much about Sadie, but I know she hates my smell...Oh. Speaking of-" He rooted around inside his coat, pulling out a much smaller gas mask, just big enough to cover the nose and mouth without the more aesthetic nature of his own. "Here...should help us be an effective team if you aren't gagging for breath around me..."
Niso's eyes drifted back to the building, his arms limp, glancing back down to the ice box of larger corpses he'd brought with him, kneeling down to open it up. Some animals were deeper in the box, but at the surface level, there was a dog missing half of it's side, like Niso had found it while maggots had been in the process of eating it, and a cat that sadly seemed to be missing an eye. Niso didn't really care to know if that was taken post, or pre-death. "Ya know...I dunno much about warehouses but...if there's a ventilation system for the place I could probably send one of my er...'pets' into it...it'll throw Sadie off her game I bet if she's desperate for clean air."

Nick was actually left dumbfounded. He stared. He blinked. “I – what?”
Whatever kind of response he had been expecting, it had not been that. Understanding, compliance, cooperation, those were all the things he had expected. Not such blatant disinterest coupled with an insult.
Anger came crashing through him like magma bursting up through a volcano. The pressure of the task left him more sensitive than he would admit, his mind constantly aware that they needed to find a place to hide the briefcase and fast before the hero team were upon them. Mostly, though, the rage came because he could not believe his partner would be this stupid.
He bared his teeth as he rounded on her, eyes ablaze. “Did you not just hear me explain that Rin knows my capabilities, you absolute fool? Have you ever heard of ‘tactics’ and ‘strategy’ before? Evidently not, since withholding your Quirk from me, your teammate, is hardly beneficial to us either!” He wanted to know her Quirk for reasons besides being her teammate also, but those reasons were not at the forefront of his mind in that moment. “I suppose you must like losing. Maybe it’s easy for you, if you’ve been a loser all your life. But some of us haven’t. And I don’t intend to change that here!”
He felt the disc on his back bulge and took a step away. Deep breaths. The disc slowly shrank down again after a few seconds.
He waited until his breathing was normal again before he held up the briefcase. “One of us needs to hide this. The other needs to create a distraction and separate them. You be the distraction and separator. Drive Niso away nearer to the back if you can. Once I’ve hidden this I’ll use my Quirk and finish him off. Is that simple enough for you?”
He was not anticipating much of an answer. Somehow he felt like he was going to be in this alone.

| "Don't push your own failures on me. I can handle myself." His anger barely caused her to flinch. "But because you were reckless if your quirk and gabbed about it to the class president doesn't mean I am going to be open with mine."
She probably could take both of the 'heroes' out on her own in this exercise. Especially if they split up. But regardless, numbers where mostly on their side. She would watch with an air of uncaring as her teammate would leave for a second to catch his breath. She would make a mental note that he had anger issues, before pushing the thought to the back of her mind. She would figure out how to exploit that later. But on his return he would attempt to talk up a strategy again.
"Or how about you be the one to separate the two up. If Rin does know your powers don't you think she would expect you to stay back and send the unknown out in the front line?" She would counter, looking down at her nails. "Take them by surprise and force Niso back. From the short bit of him I saw in class it looked like he couldn't lift a suitcase without breaking his legs. I'm sure you'll be fine even if Rin stays to try and help her ally."
Sadie rather be alone anyway, so she would rather be left with the suitcase. She would walk over and attempt to take it out of Nick's hand. "Come on, tick tock. The clock is already ticking down so go make yourself useful. So go hulk out of do whatever it is you do. I'll head deeper in with this and see what I can do."
Sadie would make a brushing motion with her hand while she tried to figure out why she was stuck in a group. The school knew exactly what her quirk was so it was obvious that she didn't need to lean on the help of someone else. How hard could protecting a stupid brief case be?

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy As the boy spoke, Rin listened intently, remaining mostly fixed in her position. Calm, quiet, relaxed. They were two to manage this task. Neither of them were operating alone. Despite how worthless Rin felt in combat, despite how little confidence Niso seemed to have in his ability to take on Nick in a straight on fight, they'd not have to face these incredible odds on their own. When Niso offered Rin some kind of gas-mask like apparatus, the girl quirked an eye. Sure, Niso smelled a little strange. In fact, occasionally the smell was more like an unbearable stench, Sadie wasn't completely in the wrong, but a mask to seal some of the scent away?... Accepting the apparatus, the girl's expression turned ever more curious. Rather than coming up with a pretentious, half assed answer as to why Niso couldn't possibly smell that bad, Rin just listened. Brushing her hair aside, the girl struggled a bit with getting the mask on properly. It needed to be sealed correctly, otherwise wearing it would be completely pointless. While in the process of getting on the mask, Niso was messing around with some of the boxes he had brought along. Rin was curious... Sending a pet up into the ventilation system..? "..So you're telling me the whole warehouse can gain an unbearable stench?.. That's pret--" Rin froze in the middle of her sentence, as the gas-mask finally fit properly over her face. The boxes which Niso had brought along were opened and their contains revealed. Dead, rotting animals. Maggots, filth, the whole display shrieked of disease and plague. Rin was taken aback. Not for even a moment had the girl considered the possibility that his quirk had some ties to the dead. It did however explain an awful lot. The stench, why he behaved as if he couldn't fit in anywhere. Perhaps this quirk of his had gotten him exiled from activities throughout his entire life. Perhaps that is exactly why he had been so desperate to prove that he could fit in during their dinner at the festival. Rin could relate. Ever since an accident in gym class, where the walls of the girl's bathroom had been entirely covered in blood, she herself had had serious issues fitting in... ...but this was Yuuei. Everyone who had a heart willing to help others were welcome here. Adjusting the gas mask ever so slightly, the girl quickly regained her composure, continuing from where she had left off. The girl's voice was distorted ever so slightly by the mask, and she looked more like something out of a horror with it on, than a hero. "Thats pretty neat, Niso-kun. If you can make it unbearably stinky in there, that'd be a huge advantage to us!" Rin offered him a warm smile, realizing that he couldn't see it, and instead extending him a thumbs up.Tilting her head to the side, her gestures were, somehow, far more expressive with the gas mask on. Perhaps because she figured he couldn't see her facial expressions. "I was thinking, if we can locate the suitcase, then hammer the lights so everything falls into darkness - by like cutting the wires or shortcircuiting the electricity lines... as soon as we have the suitcase, all we need is for one of us to sneak away and defuse it in the dark. They cannot stop what they cannot see... I should be able to make a blackout happen, if given the space." Offering him a thumbs up, Rin walked over to the entrance of the hall. As soon as they were given the ready, she'd be moving in.

Niso stopped his examination of the contents of his ice box the moment he heard Rin freeze up, eyes shifting to her, then back to the ice box, gulping back his nerves behind his mask as he realized how offputting this might be. Even if Rin knew what his quirk was somehow this was just an unnerving site and he really should have thought it through, give an explanation rather than just poorly assume she knew. Crouching down infront of his box still he lightly beat his forehead about 3 times in frustration with the base of his palms.
"Stupid Niso..."
Groaning as he lifted his head back, he tried to make the best of a bad fir-well. Second impression, given that festival dinner. He gestured to the ice box, if Rin could stomache them enough to look she'd actually find the corpses were all clean. Sure it LOOKED like they'd had maggots at them, but right now not a single maggot was left. Even the cat missing an eye, the hole where it once was looked oddly clean...sure you could probably still get a flashlight and see it's brain through the hole but it was taken care of in it's own weird way. "I promise you I didn't kill any of these myself-" he began, knowing that was a lot of people's first assumptions. "These all died naturally, or were dead when I found them I promise. It's just my quirk...watch!"
Digging through the ice, not shivering as he usually did thanks to the thick gloves that came with his costume, he pulled out a hawk. Much like the others it looked like Niso had thoroughly cleaned it. It was missing a few feather's sure but from the state of it and a small tag on it's ankle, it looked like it had perhaps been a zoo animal or a trainer's pet. "My dad got this off one of his colleagues when it sadly passed away...heh...he's real supportive..." Shaking his head, realizing he was getting distracted, he stopped Rin from going off just yet and lifted a hand against the dead bird's chest. In a brief second, the bird was moving as if it was alive again. There was an odd, sickening crack as many of it's frozen muscles were forced to move again, but despite the blank look in it's eyes and paler, colder looking form, it seemed much pretty much alive, even flying to Niso's shoulder and perching upon it as he mentally commanded.
"I control corpses...I'm...limited to about 3 so we can send this guy up into the vents and I can take two more big ones with me..." Of course even the dogs he had weren't too big, but digging them out, he ended up with a rather fierce looking alley cat, the one missing the eye, and a middaged bullmastiff. It wasn't fully aged, but undead it could have quite a bite on it. "They're all clean, scouts honor, so they can help us fight if things get rough."
Of course, the plan still had to move, and locking up his ice box after putting a few small birds and rats in his backpacks strap pockets, and a small raccoon in the larger pouch on his back. It was a bit of a load, but it wasn't like he'd be all that effective on his own anyway. Following up behind Rin, he sent the hawk fly about the warehouse, clawing at a vent, the persistance of an undead bird scraping it's way into the thin tin layers of the ventilation system, and forcing itself through a hole that was sharp edged enough to probably give a living bird some pretty deep cuts, but for the undead it was fine. Once he sensed it was deep in the vents, he cut his connection to it, leaving the cat and dog by his side as his only two companions 'active'.
Taking a deep breath, he felt some energy return to him as little as it was, and looked to Rin as they stood infront of the warehouse doors. "Give it a few seconds and the inside of this place is gonna reek of rapidly rotting corpse..." It had been frozen for a week at least, the moment it began to heat up the germs were gonna devour it and fill the warehouse with one hell of a scent. "So...any chance I get to know your quirk before we bust in here...? No chance you even know where the power circuits are gonna be is there?"

Nick bristled harder than he had in his recent memory. The nerve of this brainless – many words for her popped into his mind then, each more unpleasant than the one before it. She was not listening. She did not care. Why was she even here?
He wanted to hit her. He wanted to pummel her stupid, irritating face into a fine paste. His hands twitched with the urge and he oh so very nearly let them. If he were not opposing Rin, perhaps he would have. Only the fact that he still wanted to get one over Rin and find out what she could really do held him back – and even then, if this insolent girl kept pressing his buttons as hard as she was…
He held the briefcase out of her grasp and fixed her with a glare more venomous than a mountain of cobras. “I’ve told you what we’re doing. Now get ready!”
With that he took off past her and ran deeper into the warehouse, gripping the briefcase tightly and doing his best to look around for a suitable hiding spot, but his mind was addled by anger, making it difficult to concentrate. Was this even a good plan? He no longer cared if it was or not, that he did not even know his so-called teammate’s Quirk. The urge to take her down along with his opponents was most certainly there and growing stronger.

| "No you said, what you were doing and-" But before she could never finish the dumb ass would take off with the case. "Fine, take care of everyone on your own with the case, there is no way that can go wrong." She would mutter to herself before finding a seat some where hidden inside the warehouse.
She would get pretty comfortable and pull out a nail file had snuck into practice. If she was going to be placed with incompetence she might as well be the smart one. Resting on the ground between two crates she would still have a somewhat decent view as she started to file her nails into a more uniform shape.
At this point it was probably a waiting game, she honestly wished that the two would go around back and kick the hell out of Nick and his smug ass. That way when they lost she could just say that her partner couldn't work with others. But in the end most people liked to take the front door. However as she waited a strange smell would start to leak into the building and it took Sadie aback.
"What fucking hell is that..." She would say quietly to herself as she would try to poke her head out without giving away her location. It smelt like that disgusting smell from the class room, only a hundred times worse. It was almost strong enough to make her vomit. But instead she would just let out a loud gagging smell. It was awful and she suddenly felt sick to her stomach. Her eyes would dart around for any window in this place. But all she could find where some that where extremely high up in the air and well out of her reach. Even then who knew how good they would be considering how small they where. They probably wouldn't even let in a decent amount of light. If she didn't have the bright florescent lights, her visibility would probably be near zero. And even then, the rest of the building probably much better in terms of natural light.
She wanted to run out of the building for fresh air. Every fiber of her being screamed for it. But another part of it would worry that it probably was their plan. So she would try and sit tight and stay hidden. Hoping that she wouldn't loose her lunch from the smell. What the hell type of quirk was causing that? Was it Niso's? Did he have a gas related quirk? Oh god, should she even be breathing whatever is in the air in?

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin listened carefully to what Niso had to say. Introducing his quirk, the girl was giving him no kind of lashback. No disgusted notions. Nothing at all to indicate that his quirk was something he should be ashamed of. "Alright.. If you can at all utilize your quirk to search for the suitcase, it might come in handy. We've been given fifteen minutes, but this area looks huge.. If we get into a fight, we may run out of time.." Standing at the entrance, Rin hesitated as she peeked inside. Once they barged through this door, their timer would begin. This was their last few moments to plan something. Niso had asked the girl about her quirk, after so openly speaking of his own. A soft breath left the girl's lips. Turning to look at him.. he certainly was more worthy of knowing than Nick was..."...My quirk..." Rin hesitated, her fingers curling up into fists. It was so difficult for her to speak of. Biting the inside of her cheek harshly, the pain, distracted her. A mild taste of blood spread in her mouth. Be open, be honest. Come on. The pain alleviated some of the tension from her shoulders, allowing the girl to speak to him openly. "My quirk allows me to control my own blood.. I can turn it into objects, weapons, move it around through kinesis. It means I have to bleed to be useful. If I overuse my quirk, I go into shock. Potentially fatal." Rin hesitated again. The next part was actually somewhat important for a partner to know. It was a telltale sign t hat things were going downhill, fast. "...If my hair starts turning white, call for help. Please.. It means I'm on my last breath." With that small exchange sorted, Rin extended a small blade and slit the wrist on her own right hand. A soft groan of pain left the girl's lips. Breathing fast, deeply, Rin was shaking. The mental fortitude to hurt oneself for others. To refuse to listen to her own body's scream of anguish. Why're you doing this?! It hurts, stop, please! The crimson blood dripped into her gloved hand. The sapphire blue eyes were wettened. Enough so that they were sparkling in the light. "...Okay. Let's go. Search before fighting. If Nick transforms, keep running. There is a timelimit to his transformation, and once it runs out, he's weaker than either of us for a duration... We can do this." Running into the warehouse, Rin looked around to see if anyone was watching them. Having expected the two villains to come swinging at both herself and Niso immediately - drawing out time while making searching for the suitcase almost impossible - their welcome comittee was being strangely quiet. Perhaps the stench from the ventilation had gotten to them already?

With Rin explaining her quirk, Niso quickly realized he perhaps wasn't the only one in class who had it rough...thinking about what it must be like to have to bend what, essentially, was the most vital fluid in your body to use as a weapon or...anything really, it was a hard thing to truly appreciate. Appreciate as in understand what she was going through that is. All the same, he knew that like him she probably didn't have the most pleasant experience with her quirk...it wasn't exactly heroic for starters.
As she had to cut herself so they were ready, Niso winced at the sound of a blade on flesh, knowing it well from the odd time he actually cut up one of the corpses he could no longer revive to learn it's anatomy. All the same it sounded no more pleasant, perhaps even less so, when a human did it to themselves...
Before Rin darted off, Niso rested a hand on her shoulder, trying to meet those watered eyes, and while his lips were hidden, his lifted cheeks made it clear he was offering a reassuring smile to his partner.
"Hey...we got this."
He perhaps didn't believe his own words, and his weak, frail, tired delivery was far from the most convincing, but for sure he at least tried. Adjusting his hood, he moved in as she did, mentally willing his cat, the more agile of the two remaining animals, to search out the suitcase, implanting his own memory of what it looked like i the undead feline's brain as he kept the dog by his side for protection. He was a little surprised how quiet it was, wondering if there was an ambush waiting for them, and hoping Rin would find the suitcase, or a light switch before the enemies could get the drop on them.
As he ran through the large open warehouse however...he somewhat regretted darting away from Rin right at the start. Sure, they covered more ground, but he had what? A few dead birds, a dog, and a raccoon in a pinch, and he couldn't even use all of them at once. If he was caught off guard he'd be in for it...

Near the back was too obvious, as was near the front. Nick had to be tactical about this. The sides of the warehouse were his best bet. His nose curled as it was suddenly assaulted by a foul smell, the likes of which would make anyone with a weaker stomach vomit all over the place.
A bad smell was not nearly enough to deter him, however, especially being as fired up as he was, but still, it meant one thing: the hero team were making their move. His heartbeat accelerated as he made for the middle-left of the warehouse, where sets of crates were piled with two gaps between them. He made for the second gap and wedged the case between the crates there. It was not a real bomb, so he could be as rough with it as he desired.
Were Nick working with someone who actually knew what cooperation was, he might have felt confident enough to leave the briefcase and return in her direction. If he was totally honest with himself, though, he doubted his idiot ‘partner’ was going to be anything but useless.
So, he was in this alone. Best he could hope for was that she wore them down a little before they found him. Keeping the briefcase’s location where he could see it, he walked back closer to the middle, to where it were divided by some crates, a long horizontal crate overhead. Another long crate connected to this crate and stuck off vertically with a stack of crates forming a wall beside it. He stayed in the shadows under the vertical crate that connected to the longer one. The first person to walk under the longer one was going to get it – no matter who they were.

Bad at describing it, this is a link to where Nick and the case are on the map

| Sadie would look down at her watch in the dim lighting of the warehouse. It has been about 5 minutes, give or take a few seconds. But other then that horrid scent that broke through the entire warehouse there wasn't been much activity and Sadie was trying to figure out why. Even though it was her job to wait out the clock for her victory to be guaranteed. But inactivity was making her stir-crazy instead. What was her opponents next move? Where they just hoping to gas them out with this horrible scent?
Sadie wasn't sure, but she had to put a surprisingly large amount of attention on trying not to focus on that foul smell. She would peak up from behind the crate for a moment to try and get a good view of the warehouse before ducking back behind the crate. She was going stir crazy, she hadn't really heard anything and yet she still felt the need to check. She toyed with the idea of sending a clone out to do some recon. But would mean using her quirk and with this dumb-ass on her team she didn't want to give him the satisfaction. At the same time, because she would put herself at a disadvantage with out.
After weighting it for a bit she decided to send one single clone out for recon. Without the others knowing her quirk she probably would trick the other team into thinking that it was actually her. From there she probably could send them on a wild goose chase as she remained hidden. If she could lead them here, she could get the jump on them too. She didn't know here the idiot went with the case but it certainly wasn't here. So a clone would walk out of her body and with a body, the clone would take off to try and the other team, not exactly trying to be stealthy.
