Sports Festival Rescue Course - Game 2 The participants of this event will be divided into Team Red and Team Blue, with their starting positions outlined on the map above. Although the two teams will be sharing a common goal, they will not be working together. In fact, for this event the two teams are to treat each other as villains that are trying to kidnap the civilians. The sectioned off area has been specially prepared for the event and contains a total of four points of interest, designated with the letters A through D on the map. The area itself was part of an old harbour which had stood abandoned and dilapidated for several years. Most of the buildings within had been scheduled for demolition, but with the advent of the Sports Festival most ended up being re-purposed for the event. Team Red will be tasked with investigating areas B and C while Team Blue will investigate areas A and D. The goal in each area is to locate and rescue as many targets as possible. The targets are represented by simple training dummies. Once the dummies are located the team is expected to handle them with the same care they would handle a civilian under the same circumstances and to transport them to one of the evacuation points, designated with the letter E on the map. An NPC is also present on each team. UA students are expected to communicate and cooperate with them to the best of their ability. Points will be awarded for your actions throughout this event, however which actions award points is a secret that will not be revealed until the end. This is a test of your judgement.

Post by Farrah di Prima on Feb 19, 2019 2:17:36 GMT -4
When Farrah heard the initial rules of the Rescue Operation, she had interpreted them as being pretty similar to those of the contest she'd participated in earlier. As she thought about it, though, many distinct differences presented themselves, beyond the obvious distinction of the students involved, of which none overlapped with her previous exercise. The first: although the setup was the same, viewing the other team as enemy kidnappers, they had no instructions to go to the enemy's areas and run interception. Instead, they'd been tasked only to focus on their own areas. Still, if the instructions had bothered to tell them to view the others as enemies, it only stood to reason they'd come into contact eventually.
The second: there was no cart to push. This meant that several strategies were more viable than in the other competition, since there was no need for either team to group in once place, any further than the points of interest themselves.
Third: one had to assume there were surprises waiting in "the points of interest." People didn't need to be rescued from nice, relaxing rest stops, after all; presumably, the points of interest would be things like hostage situations or natural disasters. Farrah was already steeling herself for a scenario more steeped in realism than she'd encountered thus far.
Another interesting wrinkle: she'd been notified that each team was going to contain one student from outside the school. This was not perceived as a wrinkle by Farrah, of course. She viewed it as an opportunity. "It's like a limited character in a gachapon game! I'll introduce myself and hope they do the same!" she sang to herself, as she skipped onto the field in ballerina style. The poetess had dressed in her hero outfit this time, complete with scarf, cap, and black overcoat with slacks. There was a place for wearing her cheerleader outfit too, of course, but active competition wasn't that place.
For once, Farrah had managed to show up first to something. The team may be issued bands like last time so they could keep track of their team colors; either way, she would learn she was on red team this time, an amusing inversion. She didn't know who her teammates would be just yet, but they would reveal themselves in time, and once they did, she would be ready to introduce herself with a spin, stopping with her cap held to her head. "My name is Farrah, of the di Prima clan! My speech bubble quirk places this contest in our hands! I can project my voice in bubbles over a distance! I can even amplify my voice and detonate it in an instance! They pop over time, or in time with my snaps. Or when colliding with any criminal chaps," she chuckled, crossing her arms confidently. "Now share with me your own heroic traits! Tis only courtesy, now that we're joined by our fates!" she urged the others, sticking out one hand with the palm turned upward and the fingers flexing in dramatically.
"Think of me as your 'aibo,' your buddy, your pal! You can trust the hero student, Pop Poet, to be a trustworthy gal. Whatever you want me to help you do, I'll do it! And if a poem of mine confuses you, I'll even help you construe it!" she announced loudly, although one might wonder how yet another confusing set of poetry was going to serve as a Rosetta Stone to define the previous one.

I see you through the flood See you through the fire See you through the storms-a-raging
❧ The day had come for him to try his best on an actual rescue mission. People would argue that he was not at all fit for rescue, if one considered his quirk, abilities, and personality. Someone even told him it wasn’t exactly what they imagined him to do, but he was one to prove people wrong if necessary. Partially as rebellion, and partially to support his best friend, Yoru decided to enter the rescue scenario of the sports festival, and so far, he was pretty excited to do it.
True, he didn’t quite fit the requirements, but he had to be versatile. No one knew he wouldn’t be faced with a situation where, instead of fighting villains, he would have to prioritize civilians. On the very first rescue class, he performed poorly, but he had a much better control of his quirk now. If he could help it, there won’t be anyone injured from a fire, especially not his fire.
He showed up in time at the place the Red Team was gathering. There was not enough information about what they were supposed to do and how yet, but there was a briefing to get the gist of it. Getting dummies from point A to point B sounded about as easy as he could imagine it to be, and that was the exact reason he expected something else to happen. There had to be complications down the line, or it wouldn’t be a realistic scenario at all.
Wearing his hero outfit was an obvious choice for this. A dark red, nearly black sleeveless shirt hugged his torso, its hood left to hang on his back. Orange accents were going through it from top to bottom, matching the inners of the shirt, the accents on his pants, and his bright eyes perfectly. Dark red shorts reached under his knees, comfortable for free movements and navigation, just like the black track shoes with it all. His lower arms were covered by a thin line of protectors. The whole of his clothing was made from an experimental material that would be resistant against his own flames, effectively preventing accidentally burning them off. Yoru had never worn these clothes before other than the few times he tested them, but they were already incredibly comfortable. As they should be. They were made for him.
Seeing the team gathered, he could quickly tell that he knew most of his teammates, which will make the whole ordeal that much easier. He already had the chance to work with Haruuhi during the circus fiasco. Two of the others were there on the rescue participants gathering, though he could only imagine the impression he left after that whole mess. One of them, however, was unfamiliar. And one unfamiliar person already warranted an introduction. He sat through Farrah’s rhymes, resisting a snicker, and instead just grinning mischievously. Man, will her speech be annoying, but at least she sounds pretty fun. It might be a bit of trouble during mission where they had to communicate fast, but the style is there, which he could respect.
He walked up to the unfamiliar person right away, to the light haired girl from the other school, to keep the introduction going. “Hey. I’m Yoruhi. Nice having you on the team.” He would even reach out for a handshake, though he half-expected it to go unaccepted.
“Some of us already met before, but a refresher can’t hurt.” He turned back to all of his teammates while talking. “I’m Flame Lord, and I can ignite a special fire on my body and control its hotness freely. But more importantly.” He glanced around the abandoned harbor area, seeing the building and the obstacles to be more of a playground for him than anything else. “I can get through and maneuver a terrain like this without a problem. So I call dibs on our furthest targets right away.” Until they got more instructions, there was nothing else to do other than to hear what the others had to say. He idly wondered where Ryuusei could be. Seeing how few people made up a team, he probably ended up at a completely different area, which kind of made sense to Yoru. Oh well. He will annoy him with bragging about his achievements that much more, after everything is over.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 606 w. Rescue course kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e So it was finally time, eh? It was time to prove to herself that she could be a real hero. Relena had to admit that what UA put forth was quite impressive as she surveyed the landscape about her. Broken down buildings in a dilapidated harbor where just breathing on something would likely cause it to collapse. It meant that everyone could go all out with their quirks. Of course that was also worrying, since it meant that the other team wouldn't be holding back. Her biggest question had already been answered, however. She wasn't sure if the rescuees would be real actors or dummies, but it seemed to be similar to the mannequin madness exercise that she had participated in. So, that meant that they wouldn't have to worry about speaking to any targets or asking if they were okay. That would cut rescue time down significantly, but also made it less realistic since real rescue ops would require a degree of patience and tact on the hero's part. She would keep her thoughts to herself for now, at least until she would properly introduce herself to the others on Team Blue. Relena smiled at that, however. Blue was her favorite color, so she was pretty happy to be on this team already. Standing on the far Northeastern side of the harbor where Team Blue was assigned their starting position, Relena would be wearing her makeshift outfit costume while waiting for the others to arrive.Although she wasn't the greatest in terms of being a social butterfly, Relena understood that this was a serious matter and she would happily communicate with her fellow teammates. Upon seeing Ryuusei, a smile would break out on her face as she would wave to her 1-A classmate."Hey, we're on the same team! I am quite glad to fight alongside you, Ryuu-san!"She recognized Takumi from the rescue meeting that they had the other day. He seemed to be very level headed and considerate while negotiations turned fairly sour. So he seemed to be someone reliable.Chise was the one UA student that Relena didn't recognize, though. She was very pretty though! Relena wondered what her quirk could be and what made her want to participate in the rescue? The last member was from one of the other schools. Relena just watched him with a raised brow, curious about the motives of the Canadian school. How did they differ from UA? She silently cursed herself for not interacting with any of the schools, but then again she wouldn't have the courage to speak with any of them. Aiden in particular. Relena stared into his eyes and became lost in the sea of..."Ara?"The girl nearly fell over from staring at him too long and quickly adjusted her balance before landing face first on the ground in a puddle of her own drool. She scratched the back of her head while chuckling nervously. "It is an honor to meet someone from a fellow hero school. I was just...you had something in your hair? Eh heh heh..."Kill me now."Greetings to you all! For those of you I am meeting for the first time, my name is Relena. I don't exactly have a hero name, but Darren had coined the name 'Sword Girl' for me. Simple but I enjoy it. My quirk, Radiant Dawn, allows me to create hard light constructs from the sun's energy. So please do not hesitate to call upon me if you need assistance."With that, she gave a proper bow to her team mates and awaited who would speak next. "Let us all have a good time out there. Best of luck to each of us!".

Post by Takumi Fujimoto on Feb 20, 2019 11:02:43 GMT -4
Takumi felt entirely unprepared, among other things, but the fact of the matter was that his event in the Sports Festival was officially here. There was no more time separating him and his lack of heroic prowess from the Rescue Course in which he would be spectated by thousands of people in attendance and who knows how many people watching the broadcast on television. Still, Takumi brave out the storm and do his best to be there and to be a rock upon whom his teammates could rely on.
When Takumi arrived to his group's starting area, he would first find a complete stranger whom had come to the Yuuei Sports Festival as a representative from another school. The stoic boy seemed all business and no play, but Takumi would offer him a polite bow before anything else. This would come after Relena had stumbled and spoken to him, along with her grander introduction to the rest of the group.
Unsure of what more to say to the stranger, Takumi would then turn to Relena. He had met her earlier at a meeting set up by another student participating in the Rescue Course, albeit in a different group now, and was partially afraid of how this event might go because of how hostile a turn the meeting took. Relena was a part of it, although her role was insignificant compared to some other parties and she did actively try to salvage everything. Also among the blue group was Ryuusei, one of the main active participants in the downward spiral that took place in the pre event meetup, but with nobody from the other side of that argument present Takumi felt confident that this group should have smoother operations. Lastly was another Yuuei student, but one whom Takumi had yet to meet nor did he even see her at the meeting Emi set up or even while he just walked around the Main Alley where everyone seemed to be gathered. He knew absolutely nothing about her, but figured that she would say anything she felt necessary soon enough.
Hi, everyone! My name is Takumi, and like Relena I don't have a hero name. However unlike Relena, I don't have any coined nicknames given to me by any friends either, so feel free to just call me Takumi for the time being. My quirk is called Whipped and it basically just lets me shoot out this thick foam from my fingers. I'm basically a human whipped cream dispenser, or maybe a walking fire extinguisher, although not that much comes out... I just thought you all should know that before we go in there, in case any big fires happen so you all don't think I can put them out super easily.
Takumi would offer everyone a respectful bow once he finished his own introduction, basically mirroring how Relena introduced herself to the rest of the group. Once he had properly introduced himself and explained his quirk to everyone, Takumi took a step back and allowed whomever wanted to take the floor next have their chance.

you don't need a dream or even a tomorrow just live
The date of the Rescue Event of the first ever Yuuei Sports Festival had arrived and, according to the instructions, it wasn't taking place inside the school grounds. Only upon arriving at the designated location did the students find out that their mission would take place in a old harbour - the map given to them made such thing clear. Ryuusei Igarashi's team was identified as Team Blue and, by the looks of it, it had five member in total - four, if Ryuu excluded himself. The first one that the sixteen year old noticed was the unfamiliar face. This face belonged to a boy that appeared to be around the same age (maybe even older) and height as Ryuu; a boy who had a stern expression, blue eyes and dark hair. Ryuusei assumed that this male was from one of the foreign schools and hoped that he knew how to speak Japanese, even if Ryuusei himself knew how to speak English. The next two that captured Ryuusei's attention were the ones that, a few days before, had shown up for Emi's meeting. Their names were Tsuruya Relena - a fellow Class 1A member who, by their few interactions, seemed to be compassionate, even if that meant wearing her heart on her sleeve - and Fujimoto Takumi - a younger Yuuei student that Ryuusei barely knew, but thought of as someone too sensitive for his own good. The last person that Ryuu focused his gaze on was the pale girl with orange hair and purple eyes. Ryuusei had never talked to her nor knew her Quirk or capacities but, due to her position has President of the Support Studies Class, was aware of her name: Ishihara Chise, if he wasn't mistaken. They were all on time and in the area that was indicated to them. It was a good enough start - afterall, having to wait for somebody would be bad. Standing there, Ryuusei Igarashi was wearing the Second Version of his Hero Outfit. Despite already being able to use God's Alibi in a way where clothing didn't pose any problem, this version was also entirely made of a special material made out of Ryuusei's own wear. The color scheme of the Outfit was black, platinum silver, vegas gold and white, with some other aspects worth mentioning. The first and most simple to explain were the canisters dangling from the belt. They were four - two at the front and two at the back - and each one had simple bandages inside, meant to serve as first aid to either Ryuusei himself or others. The second would be the wrist protectors, that, with the electronic wiring and sensors inside of them, had a practical use that took Ryuusei's Quirk into account. Each protector had a monitor in its forearm area that displayed Ryuusei specific information: the left one showed Ryuu his heart-rate while the one on the right served as a digitial clock that presented even milliseconds. The third - and final - was the harness-type thing. Tight to Ryuusei's body, it went around his shoulders and, at his back, came together to form a chestplate. This back chestplate was an artificial thermoregulator that, while not improving his breathing ability in any way, facilitated the respiratory system's job of transformating the air into the proper body temperature and adjusting it to the right humidity levels. Ryuusei had just nodded in aknowledgment to everyone, but It didn't take long for someone in the team to talk. The feeling is mutual, Relena-san, he said in reply to the girl. She then proceeded to introduce herself - using an alias that Ryuu would refuse to call her by - and telling everyone that wasn't at the meeting about her Quirk. Takumi followed her lead and proceeded to do the same. Might aswell get this out of the way, Ryuusei thought, deciding to be the next to talk to everyone else. You can all call me Susanoo'. I can make objects, animals and people invisible, two small sentences followed by a small nod. Clear and right to the point. After both Chise and Aiden followed the greeting pattern, Ryuusei would try to take the lead. Taking that stance bothered him, but it was something that came naturally: no matter how lazy he was or the lack of motvation or interest that he had, it was the position he kinda ended up doing in both Herr Kunshu's and his Rescue Practice with Darren and Masaki. Besides, there was a specific reason why he had to do well today... If Yoru does great and I don't he'll never shut up about it, Ryuu thought, assuming his best friend had been assigned to the other Rescue Event. With all this in mind, Ryuu spoke about the quick interpretation he had already made of the scenario they had been given. We should separate in two groups: one of two and other of three - he started off, the following sentences being accompanied by the movement of his fingers across the map of the harbour - It's the best way to cover both Areas A and D at the same time while being efficient and having the most freedom of movement possible. Since Area D is the closest to the Villain's starting point and the furthest from where we are we should send the three person group there. Since me and Relena are from the same Class, so we can be the rearguard duo that covers Area A. Ryuusei then looked at Aiden while pressing his finger against the Area D of the map. You lead vanguard to Area D. I'm sure Chise and Takumi can take care of any situation, so just act in the way you think it's the best for you three, he said. It was simple management of assets. Ryuu had no idea of the personality that Aiden had: if the foreigner was shy and shut-in, Ryuusei's plan wouldn't be a problem, but, in the case that he had an ego on him or was the leader-type, Ryuu didn't want to make him feel like he wasn't in control. That is why Ryuusei chose the words "lead", "vanguard" and the sentence "act in the way you think it's best". The more confortable and in power Aiden felt, the better for both the canadian and the entire team. Ryuusei also chose his words about Takumi and Chise specifically: he didn't want them to feel down with Aiden taking the lead of their group, so Ryuu showed that he 100% believed in the fellow Yuuei students' abilities. Besides, Ryuusei had metal on his ankle - him and Aiden on the same group wouldn't be ideal. It was with this and with the others description of themselves that Ryuusei believed that the division he suggested was the best for their team. He continued, talking to everyone once again. Thinking about triage also makes me believe that we should prioritize our own Areas. Better make sure to save everyone there before jumping into battle and risking not saving anyone at all. So don't engage with the Villains. If they engage with you focus on running away and not on fighting them. We go for the Villains only after cleaning our Areas. In that case, you three check the situation on Area C and me and Relena will see how B is. He paused for some seconds before finishing. Of course it never goes perfectly, so improvise when needed. It's just a guideline. He tapped the map with his fingers and straightened his back, looking at everyone. With his mature and cold tone, he spoke. Do you all agree with this? he asked genuinely, fully prepared to accept suggestions and with his mouth dry from not being used to talking that much. ---

As Haruuhi stood waiting for the students to be announced she held one bandaged arm to her chest, letting out a heavy breath as she tried to steel her nerves. She purposely put herself in the Rescue Event of the Sports Festival after her kidnapping because she wanted to prove that she could face a situation like this... even so soon after she had been broken by Bucket and Thunder.
She bit her lower lip nervously, the anxiety of it all rising within her... she placed her hands now on her head, shrinking down so that she was in a squat on the ground...
"Breath Haruuhi... just breath... it's just an event, he's not here... you can prove to them all that you aren't some worthless little girl..." She tried to convince herself, biting back the tears that threatened her eyes. She could... she even went so far as to plead with G to let her participate and even be aired on TV. She couldn't hide and had to show the world that this only made her stronger, regardless of what they thought it would do to her, or to U.A. With one final deep breath, the young girl would stand to her feet once more, wiping her sleeve across her eyes to leave no trace of the tears that had started to well up. She then slapped her hands on her cheeks and picked up her helmet.
As she walked out to meet her team mates, she put up a confident smile on her face. She first recognized Yoruhi, then faintly recognized Farrah from school. She made a point of knowing who most students were, and someone who spoke like that was pretty distinct. The only person here she didn't recognize was the student from one of the international schools, and Haruuhi greeted her with a wave.
"Hi there. My name is RadioTower, it'll be fun working with you all. With my quirk I can create a radar to get a mental map of what's in front of me, so I should be able to get a general layout of where our civilians are located and plot the best course f action. Farrah, while you can be pretty loud, I like to play it a bit more subtle so... here." Haruuhi reached into her pocket then went about handing each of her team mates a small bluetooth earpiece. It wasn't anything fancy, just a regular old bluetooth which meant they had to be within Haruuhi's range for them to work properly.
"With these we can all communicate more quietly, and I'll always be able to tell where you are with this. I don't think any f us should head out alone... Yoruhi, do you mind if I come along with you? My bracers made it pretty easy for me to move around." She stated with the same confident smile on her face, bringing her helmet up onto her head and strapping it. She would then click a button and the visor would lift up so that they could still see her.

Post by Chise Ishihara on Feb 22, 2019 15:01:50 GMT -4
The days and weeks leading up to the launch of the school's sports festival had been both exciting yet hectic at the same time. Chise, being the class president of the Support Studies Class, had to attend various meetings with both her fellow class presidents: Rin of Class A, Ericka of Class B, and Yumi of Class C, as well as faculty and the Principal. Lots of unfamiliar faces, important ones at that, seemed to create a nervous tension in the air at the beginning of planning, but soon enough, with a little self motivation, Chise was able to get through the grueling meetings and help create a wonderful sports festival agenda. The so called "Princess of Support Studies" chose to get involved in one of the activities planned: the rescue operations mission. Some of the other challenges like the solo fights and the cavalry race seemed more fort for those in the hero courses so that's she decided to do. Another big task of the student council was to make sure the international students were well taken care of, making sure they had everything they needed from rooming to food to whatever else the school was able to provide for them while the sports festival was underway.
Chise looked at herself in the bathroom mirror once more before softly nodded and heading out to her location spot for the exercise. With her hero outfit donned, she was ready to go, hoping that through her rigorous training she would be able to do her best during this exercise. It seemed as she was one of the last few to arrive, seeing a large gathering of students already. The teams were supposedly split up already and she was placed into the blue team. After looking over at the group which was considered her team, she was unaware of who any of them were. If she were placed on the red team, she would have at least known Yoruhi, Karuhi, Farrah, and Momo, whereas she was the only support studies student on her team. Chise shook the negative through from her mind as she joined her group, she would have to make due with what she was given. "My apologies for being late. I hope I didn't miss much. My name is Chise Ishihara, the president of the support studies class. My hero name is Lyre. Even though I am unfamiliar with who all of you are, I hope that we can work together to clear this mission as a team," the peach haired girl said with a bright smile and rosy cheeks.
"If we are discussing quirks, my quirk gives me the ability to copy anyone's voice through means of lip contact. I am able to hold up to 8 voices not including my own at a time. Each voice I possess is on a timer once I use them but once I stop using it the timer is paused. With each addition of a voice, the time I can use each decreases by 5 minutes. If I copy one voice, I am able to use it for about an hour. I'm not sure how much of a use it will be during this exercise compared to your quirks, but I will do my best. I do have knowledge of martial arts if it should ever come down to engaging in combat," Chise said, giving the others insight about her quirk. It seems her teammates were Relena with the ability to create objects from light, Takumi with the ability to shoot a foam like substance from his fingers, Ryuusei with the ability to turn objects invisible, and one of the international students who hadn't introduced himself yet. Ryuusei suggested they split into teams one having two members and the other having three members. Ryuusei suggested Chise, Takumi and the international student be the group of three while the others formed the group of two. She was not the best at coming up with ideas on the fly, so letting Ryuusei take the lead was a good thing. It seemed the group of two would take the closer of the two locations they needed to check out which Chise had no issues with, she would try to be of use wherever she was placed. Once Ryuusei asked of everyone was alright with the plan, Chise looked at him with determination in her eyes and nodded in response. It seemed the show would begin any minute now, all they had to do was wait. Abilities: Marital Arts: E, Strength: D, Stealth: F, Stamina: F, Quirk (Songbird): D

Rescue Course. Yet another one of those missions where you had to go from point A to point B to retrieve something, in this case artificial civilians. The mission type itself was starting to feel tiresome to Momoko... but it couldn't be helped! The festival had caught her by surprise, leaving her behind her own schedule for finalizing her tools and unable to confidently sign up for one of the battle tournaments like she had originally planned. However! The fact that this kind of mission type was starting to feel tiresome was a good thing! It meant that she was experienced! A veteran, even! This could essentially just be likened as a final exam for these kinds of missions, and as long as she performed well in this one she could write this area of studies as "completed"... at least to herself. She wouldn't need to feel guilty about neglecting this stuff afterwards and could fully focus on finalizing the inventions, and steer herself towards something more interesting. "Yosh!"As a result of this mental peptalk, Momoko had arrived to her team's starting location with confidence, standing tall for a person of her height. She was still donning her prototype of a hero costume that she had made herself: a black elastic bodysuit and a light brown hooded cloak. The cloak had outlines of yellow embroidered patterns that had yet to be finalized. Along with her getup, the small girl had taken the liberty of bringing two other items of interest as if to compensate for what she had been unable to complete in time. In a small holster on her back she carried an ordinary needle, which was to her the size of a shortsword, and two meters worth of wire that Momoko had coiled on her person akin to a sash. Beneath the wire was an actual sash, that being her team's red band. She didn't recognize the other members in her team, aside from Farrah, whom she just didn't want to. The other members seemed more interesting anyway. There was a dark-clad boy whose entire wardrobe was made out of something that Momoko didn't immediately recognize, but which was probably fire-resistant based on his explanation about his quirk. There was also girl whose equipment was noticeably more advanced than anyone else on their team despite not being a Support Studies student. The latter girl, Radiotower, also offered everyone a bluetooth earpiece. Had she had the time she might have been able to sufficiently downsize it, but as an emergency measure she had to hang it from the nape of her cloak. Finally there was the foreigner. She looked foreign. Momoko waited for the first few introductions before finally finding a social foothold for hers. "Hi everyone! The name's Shrike! I'm hard to notice and hard to catch! I'm no weaker or slower than you giant folk if I want to, but I overexert quickly! Unfortunately I'm under-equipped at the current time, and I doubt that I can carry hostages, but I can help when it comes to sneaking and distracting!" There was a small pause as Momoko made a quick, encompassing glance directed at all of the other teammates before her arms jolted upwards with a declaration: "And one of you gets to carry me!" Red Team:
Julia Dawson had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity. The moment to prove herself, to show the world the might of the Valiant Institute and to establish herself as a true future rescue hero.
For all her determination, though, the British girl was beyond nervous as she stood waiting for the rest of her team, clad in the navy and gold tracksuit worn by her house’s students, with the sleeves removed and the legs cut off at the thighs to leave her spring-shaped limbs free. She wrung her hands and found it difficult to look in the same spot for more than a few seconds. Would her teammates be people she had met or would they be complete strangers? Would Feng be there? Perhaps she should have asked Feng what event she was planning to do after all...
Finally, her teammates appeared, and sadly Feng was not among them. First came a blonde girl who babbled what sounded to Julia like a load of rhyming nonsense and left her wide-eyed and blinking. Next came a redheaded young man who seemed friendly enough and extended a hand to her, which she happily shook. After him was a girl with radio-related powers who waved to her, and finally, a girl Julia almost missed because she was so very unusually small.
They were quite the eclectic bunch, that was for certain, but being a hero student it was nothing Julia was not used to. She bowed in greeting to the rest of her team, knowing this was a sign of respect among Japanese people.
“Hello to you,” she said in near-flawless Japanese. “My name is Julia Dawson of the Valiant Institute’s House Nightfire, hero name Slinkee. My Quirk, I suppose, should be fairly obvious.” She gestured with one of her spring-shaped arms. “My mutated limbs allow me to jump incredible distances and also reach very far. They grant me enhanced strength, also. I look forward to working with you all and hope we can do our best. As for what we should do, I think avoiding conflict is the correct way. Our priority here is rescue, so actively looking for fights with the other team would be foolish and waste time. I also agree with Haruuhi that it would be foolish for any one of us to go it alone. Perhaps we should split into two groups? Haruuhi and Yoruhi, you two can go for Area B and myself, Farrah and Momoko will go for Area C, if that’s okay?”
Summary: Julia is nervous but greets her teammates politely (although she’s baffled by Farrah’s speech pattern). She shakes hands with Yoruhi. She introduces herself, her hero name and her Quirk. Her Japanese is impeccable. She says fighting the other team would be a waste of time. Agreeing with Haruuhi, she suggests Haruuhi and Yoruhi go for the further away Area B while she and the remaining girls go for Area C.

Blue Team:
Aiden Smith wanted nothing more than to get the hell on with it. Were all UA lessons this way, with everyone standing around and talking instead of just getting right in there? He stood and watched his team gather with a frown of indifferent annoyance, clad in the basic white and red tracksuit of his school with a handgun clipped to his hip. For God’s sake, this was stupid. In a real crisis you did not have time to stand around and give your entire life story. Frustration built within him the longer they just stood there, and – wait, why was that blondie girl staring at him?
“The hell is your problem?” he grunted, backing away from her. He resisted the urge to facepalm when she almost fell over. UA students were of a very high calibre, clearly.
He supposed he would have to introduce himself, however, as much as he did not want to: he would rather have just done the event by himself at this point. He let out a sigh. “I’m Aiden, but call me Gimmick for this.” His Japanese was decent enough. “My Quirk is Magnetism: my body can attract and repel metal objects. Now can we hurry up with this already? Those civilians would be dead by now in a real emergency!”
Finally, one guy stepped up to take charge right as Aiden was about to, Ryuu-something. His idea about splitting up was more or less what Aiden would have suggested, so he allowed this, particularly since this meant he would be closer to the opposing team.
“Alright, if you’re too cowardly to go near the other team I can more than handle it. Lyre, Foam Guy, you’re with me. Try to keep up.”
And with that, he set off at a brisk pace without waiting for them to follow him or the rest of his team to speak.
Summary: Aiden’s a jerk. Sorry. He’s weirded out by Relena. He’s impatient to get going and is about to take charge when Ryuusei steps up. He reluctantly gives his name, Quirk and hero name. His Japanese is decent. He agrees with Ryuusei’s plan – though insults Ryuusei for choosing the area away from the enemy team – and immediately sets off in the direction Area D without waiting for the rest of the team’s input.

It seemed to Farrah that her introduction had gone off well and the team was as cohesive as one could hope for given their status as relative strangers, currently... not that she tended to view anyone as anything less than a friend for very long. For that reason, she glossed over Momoko's attempted dismissal of her, Julia and Haruuhi's confusion, as well as Yoruhi's snickering, which she interpreted as a positive sign that her attempt to make a good mood had gone off successfully. "Julia! Why, that name is similar to the mama of mi familia! How interesting, that I should encounter it here. But mostly I'm happy to see you all in good cheer," she resolved, placing a fist on each hip and nodding eagerly.
Although Haruuhi had alluded to the possibility that they all might want to play it cool and quiet, in case they needed to approach the rescue zones unannounced, Farrah instead chose to interpret that as Haruuhi's announcement of her own preferences. She accepted the mic receiver and winked, her eyebrow telegraphing the motion despite her sunglasses. She fit it over one ear, the right-side one that was visible where her head was shaved, and grinned wide. "I hope you'll be joyful when you hear Pop Poet's voice sing in your ear!" she sang, then straightened back up. She gestured to the likely reluctant Momoko and Julia, who probably had only a vague idea what she was in for, by spreading her arms wide and tilting her chin upward. "Fantastic! Let's go! We'll sweep zone C! And rely on our friends to do the same for zone D!" the poetess reaffirmed.
She had been looking for an excuse to pick up Momoko for a while now and was excited that said opportunity may have fallen into her lap, or onto her shoulder, or perhaps inside the breast of her jacket, or maybe even peaking out from her cap. "Momo, if you want me to act as your noble carriage, you'll find you and I are the perfect marriage! I can carry you atop one of my padded shoulders! And the three of us together can be all the bolder! My voice can summon all who are in trouble, carrying a loud message within a loud bubble. With Julia's legs and power, she'll be the hero of the hour, carrying dummies to the rescue gate. And in order for us to carry our weight, we must find every opportunity we can take!"
She'd realized halfway through talking just how much better suited Julia was for this task than she was... and, thinking a little more critically than usual, she admitted to herself Momoko was uniquely unqualified for such a task. She was probably the only person in the competition who'd be unable to carry a mannequin if the time came to do so. Still, that concern did not nag at her for long; instead, she resolved that Momoko, possessing a unique, heroic spirit, and furthermore the helpful nature of a fellow support studies student, would be prepared to think up every avenue to help in this competition. "Julia, I hope that you won't mind if on you we lean, for the rescue from hazard to safer scene! You can count on our support to lure away anyone bad; we'll be the finest distractions you've ever had! And if you need someone to rally scattered civilians, my power should work; it's one in a million!" she attempted to reassure the foreign student, smiling with all the confidence of a true optimist (and perhaps of someone who severely overestimated her own potential on a daily basis).
"Er, Julia, I hate to shout! But as we are now headed out, do you suppose you could give us a lift using your unique jumping gift? Is that something you can do? I believe it'd be faster than going by shoe," Farrah smiled hopefully. Angel, her flying girlfriend, had strength enough to carry someone along while flying. She was hopeful that Julia had a similar gift, so that the two of them could keep pace. If not, she would shrug it off with her unflappable nature, and commit to skipping along as quickly as she could skip instead until she reached the point. She'd try to keep extraneous singing from here on to a minimum, as hard as that was for her, in case it turned out that they really were approaching an active hostage situation.
----------------------
WC 727
-Farrah accepts Julia's strategy. She proposes that Julia will be best suited for carrying rescue targets, while she and Momoko can distract hostiles or gather targets. She also proposes that if Julia has the strength to do so, Julia carries Farrah and Momoko so that they can reach the point faster. -Farrah does her best to stay quiet while actually in motion toward point C...

I see you through the flood See you through the fire See you through the storms-a-raging
❧ The handshake was accepted, and that was already enough to see that working together with the foreign student will be an easy enough case. She seemed adaptive and team-oriented. That will make it easier to work together, and Yoru made sure to commit her name to memory. Julia spoke in Japanese as if she had been learning it since birth. It did not even occur to him that language barrier would be a problem, but seemed that kind of worry was not needed anyway.
Without a doubt, Shrike must be the most interesting member out of their bunch for the sole reason she was just so tiny. Yoru even crouched down to take a better look at her before turning back to the conversation at hand.
“Sure, I didn’t mean to be going for it alone anyway.” He nodded at Haruuhi as he stood again, happy for the familiar face and that she was willing to go to the furthest target with him. It was actually reassuring. Unknown factors could emerge in a simulated situation like this, so it was always better to have them watch each other’s backs. Accepting the Bluetooth earpiece, he immediately placed it into his left ear, somewhat hoping it can withstand his flames in case it came into contact with them barely. It was only once in a blue moon the side of his head was on fire, but he would never know what the future brings.
He closed his eyes for a short moment, and when he opened them again, an orange colored flame burst into existence on his forehead, the flame crown he got his hero name from. This harmless flame was the only one that wouldn’t exhaust him no matter how long it was lit, and since it was part of his image, it was only right to have it appear as soon as they were ready to go.
“Okay, seems we all agree on what we need to do. What Julia said is right, focusing on the civilians instead of on the opponents is the best. But stay on your toes, unknown factors might come up. It isn’t a mission simulation for no reason. So make haste!” He threw a fist into the air, seeming rather energized for the upcoming hurdles they need to go through. He turned to Haruuhi and nodded. “Let’s go, Radiotower!” He headed right toward the designated area B, circling the first building in the way from the south, which would place them on the road just between area D and another building instead on the road at the edge of their mission area.
He turned to his teammate to get her attention, and tapped the earpiece that he got from Radiotower. “When someone gets out of your range, tell me. We can adjust ourselves, but keeping communication steady might be our advantage against the villains right now.” He couldn’t quite see how nervous she was, but he could imagine there might be a bit of anxiety on a mission such as this. And so he did his best to hide his own nerves, and focus on the excitement and the flow of teamwork. Although he had the speed to go faster, he kept in mind what Haruuhi’s abilities might be, so instead of rushing way ahead of her, he watched her to know what speed she could comfortably keep up with. He still intended to be in front, but not out of reach. While going, he would watch out for any debris or obstacle and jump through them all without being hindered in his movements. The buildings were abandoned, but he kept an eye out for movements from opponents or any other things that would be placed in the area to make things more interesting.
He tapped a finger against the communicator again. “Everyone copy?” He intended his words to reach the others as well this time. “Let’s test the earpieces. When you’re near an opponent, or you’ve to stay quiet, just tap on the mics, so we’ll know you can’t talk.”

When Julia spoke to them in near flawless Japanese Haruuhi looked just as shocked by this as by Farah's own manner of speaking. That shock turned into a wide grin though as this definitely made things 100% easier! She was really impressed that someone from overseas could speak their language so flawlessly, it really wasn't all that easy to pick up.
"Slinkee! I love that name. We'll be counting on you~ Just do your best. As you've all said, our main focus is rescuing the civilians, if you spot the villains, try to stay hidden and out of sight until any bystanders are safe. If engaged, distract them long enough to rescue your charge." She summed up everyone's thoughts, smiling brightly when she saw little Momoko walk in. Gah! She was so adorable! All of Haruuhi's uncertainties washed away for a brief moment as she was nearly overcome with the desire to hug Momoko tightly due to the cuteness overload! But no, she had to focus and just shifted her step and cleared her throat to get her head back into the game.
"Strike, you'll be perfect to scout out the area you think civilians might need your help, make sure no one is being kept hostage and report back to your team as soon as you know anything." She jumped on the task for Momoko. Of course Haruuhi herself wasn't going to be there, but if there was one thing Haruuhi was good at it was organisation, and that also included organising a battle field... at least when she got the opportunity.
"Oh right. If you need an emergency bomb as a last resort, tell me and toss your earpiece. I can detonate the radio frequency into a small bomb if needed (G rank for reference)." With that she turned to Yoruhi when he eagerly told them to go and nodded, pressing the button on the side of her helmet to shut the visor over her face once more. The HUD suddenly sprang to life on the inside of the screen, tiny red dots appearing there to indicate the location of all the blue tooth pieces she had given out. There wouldn't be a visible concrete map though until she got to use her radar. That meant the girls would be on their own for a while and she'd have to do her best to piece a map together for them.
"I don't think they'll be able to fall out of my range, not unless we're both standing on the very edges of the area. I'll definitely let you know though, I can direct you from a distance using my radar to find the civilians and tell you of any incoming villains. You think that's okay or do you want me to stay next to you?" She didn't like the idea of throwing herself right into the fight next to Yoruhi as she much preferred being the one to guide him away from any danger while keeping eyes on everything... but if Yoruhi needed a partner next to him, she would be sure to do the very best that she could.
Haruuhi wasn't the fastest player on the board, but she was nimble. She had no problem controlling her breath so that she could run further, nimbly jumping over obstacles of diving through them. Heck with these new braces the girl could probably scale the buildings themselves with only minor difficulties. She was pretty pleased with how well they were working, put realised she probably needed to add a speed boost to them somehow... that was going to be fun to figure out later.
Then, as Yoruhi tested his earpiece and gave further instructions she smiled and nodded her head.
"I hear you loud and clear Flame Lord~ " She stated, her voice immediately being transmitted to their earpieces.

The foreigner, Julia, was nice. And not too ogling either. Since Momoko was already resigned to a combat-lite course, she had no issues with Julia's suggested course of action. The team compositions... made sense, certainly. Based on a quick evaluation and an even quicker re-evaluation, they were balanced with both sufficient mobility and communication. The two support members were lacking when it came to the former part, as well as physical activities in general, so putting them in the same team to form one functioning member did make sense. Unfortunately it made sense. It wasn't as if Momoko hated Farrah, that would have been an overreaction. The girl was mostly just annoying, and the fact that the other members had aspects that had made Momoko curious already didn't help. But it was nothing to make a fuzz over.
"Ooooon it!" The small girl chirped back in vague response to whatever her teammates were advising. She did so as she sized up Farrah and her shoulder, who had taken up the offer about carrying her. The poet luckily wasn't too tall. Momoko's posture changed and her body tensed up for a mere moment before making a sizable vertical leap, at least for someone of her size. The momentum carried her just below the elbow, having to grab onto the upper parts of Farrah's sleeve and hoist herself up from there. It certainly would have been easier and more energy-conserving to ask for help, or even just climb, but Momoko felt like showing off a little. She would assert herself into a comfortable sitting position upon it, and thanks to the outfit's stuffings, it did oddly enough serve as a good seat for someone like her. It was from there where he waved their team's duo off.
Farrah's suggestion overall seemed silly to Momoko, which she made known shortly after it had been uttered. "Oi oi! Carrying me is one thing! Can she really move that fast while trying to carry you around?" That being said, if Slinkee actually could do that, who was Momoko to argue otherwise... even if it did seem unlikely? Whether being carried or double-carried would make little difference to Momoko en route. She would do her best to retain a good holding with her hands and observe her surroundings to the best of her abilities, as well as being ready to start poking her primary carrier furiosly should she attempt to sing. At some point she would receive Flame Lord's and Radiotower's test messages to her own "ear"piece. The small girl would have to twist the device around slightly to face it better in order to send her own. "Shrike copies."
Summary: - Accepted Farrah as their temporary seat, jumping up on their shoulder and waved the others off. - Stays on Farrah's shoulder en route regardless. Has her eyes open and is ready to poke Farrah at a moment's notice. - Tested the earpiece.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 606 w. Rescue course kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e Relena nodded politely to Takumi. "Well, I'm sure if any fires do break out you can handle it. Though that does bring up the question...how far are they going to go with this exercise?"
She scratched at her chin as she observed the last of their team. The president of Support Studies? Wow, what an honor! Relena bowed respectfully to the girl. "That's a really cool quirk!"
Relena crossed her arms and listened intently to Ryuusei as he went into detail about a game plan that he had in mind. To divide and conquer essentially. It was a sound plan coming from a sound man, so Relena was completely accepting of this. Their strengths were evenly distributed and she would be partnered up with someone she had some familiarity with.
"Yes, I agree whole heartedly with Susanoo. We spread out and save as many lives as possible. Conflict should be the last thing on our minds. Though, if it comes down to it, hit and run tactics would be preferable. Confuse the enemy long enough to save the civilians and get out before the situation gets too hot."
A curious brow was raised at how quickly Aiden dismissed the lot of them. It seemed that things were done much differently in Canada land, which was fine by her. Seeing how others did things was educational, so she would be more than happy to...observe. Yes, that's the word. Although he was already getting on with the operation, so Relena figured that she and Ryuusei should get going as well.
"Well, it looks like they're off to a great start." She mused. "But cowards? Those words would cut deeper if he was someone I actually cared about."
Relena coughed into her fist to cover the faint blush that was developing on her cheeks. "Baka." She whispered.
She would follow after Ryuusei once he was prepared to proceed to point A, as he had instructed. As the two would progress, Relena would regard her classmate.
"Thank you for stepping into the leader role, Ryuusei. You make quite an impression, if I am not being too bold. By the way, that sword girl thing...it's nothing permanent. So, if there was something else you wished to call me...I'm all ears. I don't even use a sword."
Looking around at their surroundings, it didn't seem like the 'villain' group was anywhere in sight, so Relena was glad to have this time to speak with Ryuusei. He and Yoruhi were the ones who made the biggest impression on her at the meeting, plus they were her classmates. So getting to interact with a 1-A veteran was an interesting experience that the blonde would not want to pass up.
"Do you think the others would actually attack us, though? It's always a possibility, but I don't know anyone too well yet. I just want to be prepared for the worst."
The fact that she was more concerned with an attack rather than the welfare of the civilians was disconcerting to her. Was her own self preservation really more than that of a hostage or person in distress? Relena asked herself this question while walking, scratching casually at her chin. No. She ultimately decided. No, I'm not actually thinking of my own well being. Villains take hostages or make situations worse during rescues. Then again, these are fellow students we are going up against, so I don't need to concern myself with that.
Once her thoughts were settled, Relena shook her head with a warm smile. "No, forget I said anything. I wasn't thinking properly. For now, we need to focus on point A and evaluate the situation we will be facing. Are you ready, squad leader?"
-Thinks Takumi and Chise are super cool! -Agrees with Ryuusei's plan -Aiden is a butt, but he's still cute -Compliments Ryuusei on his decisive strategy -Wondering what they will be facing as they head to point A -Please don't ambush us, Red team!
