Hello All! Today begins the first day of signups for a brand new type of RolePlay on the site! Similar to Storyteller threads I will be running a Mission, which is a faction specific thread designed to give members of the smaller factions (Heroes, Vigilantes, and Villains) something fun to get involved in.
I will be running the first of these Missions, titled Reign of Babel, for the more shady members of Hero society, the Vigilantes! While this Mission is Faction specific it does not mean only Vigilantes can join. Below, I will run down some rules and info as well as explain how to sign up.
To start with you will either need to be a Vigilante or a Hero to join, sorry student’s this isn’t for you. When it comes to Heroes you will need to know that any In-Character ramifications of your actions still apply. In the case of this mission, it means that any Hero that joins does so unsanctioned by the Government and which could potentially cause issues both in the public light and with your Employers. Heroes join at your own risk.
Because this is an experimental thread type the rewards may vary depending on how it goes and what happens. But since we should all be in for the story anyway I hope this won't be an issue.
Now for the rules. Since the general rules of the site still apply I will only list those unique to the Mission.
1. Unlike Event’s, you are not locked-out of other threads by joining. This is not a Death Enabled or PVP, meaning you can still continue as if it were any other thread.
2. Once your post comes around you will have 48 hours to post again. Extensions can be made as long as the other members of the thread are willing to allow it. Since this isn’t a full-blown Event the hope is that we can get this whole thing finished sometime in January. This applies to me as well. If you see someone, including me, not posting or requesting an extension please reach out to a Moderator.
3. If you do get skipped due to inactivity it will be considered that you left the are and are out of harm's way. If you are skipped twice due to inactivity you will be considered removed from the thread. There are exemptions if you contact me or another staff member before being counted as inactive.
The Story
On December 1st a protest was held in Kabukicho, Tokyo was held by locals. The protest was organized because the locals were complaining that the government was ignoring the increase in violent crime and theft within the past few years. Riot police were called in to shut down the protest but were instead met by an unknown opposition. When the police arrived the protesters were being corraled by an unknown group of masked malcontents and harassed. Torn with what to do the police fired tear gas into the crowd in an attempt to get both groups to disperse, but instead of dispersing the masked criminals turned and began assaulting the police killing or injuring some and forcing the rest out of the district. The assaulters then turned to riot, setting cars and storefronts on fire all while chanting ”A new Reign”.
Since some of the rioters were documented to be known Quirkers the Government quarantined the area, setting up blockades on every major entrance and exit, with no sign of easing up. Each of you watched the news as the district burned, with innocent civilians trapped among the riots and chaos. The police announced that they had no communication with forces inside as something was jamming all radio frequencies.
At first, the nation cried out for the newly minted heroes to help, but concerned about collateral and infrastructure damage the Government has put a hold on any Hero attempting to help until a decision is made.
Now it rests upon you, the hidden and secretive heroes no one knows exists, to save the day. Now is your time to shine. Will you rise to the occasion, or will you fall under the Reign of Babel?

This Mission is limited to 10 characters from among the Vigilante community, and Heroes under extenuating circumstance. If you are interested in joining please comment below with a link to the character you wish to join with. Since this is not an Event I will be open ins saying that I myself will be joining with my Vigilante, Touma Junji, and will sign up below to give you an example.
