RISAKA REINACHTSecond Year U.A / Miss Gray
''Everyday I ask myself if I even should bother'' words • tagged @ • notes | Such a relentless interaction between the two fighters, so many punches got dished out that even a commentator would have a hard to follow up how many hits are being connected. With both sides having an incredible speed to the strikes it would quickly be a draining exercise, considering the fact Risaka is not the kind to be caught in a loop such as this. She felt the very same lazy eye feeling, the annoying need for a nap time. Just as she were thinking about it a sudden kick flew from the side, this boy were not only swift on the upperbody, but on the lower half! Risaka flezed her arm up into a defensive blockage, absorbing the kick's pressure while giving Manuel a glare.
''If you're enjoying this so much I'll give you a true reason to never forget it.''
No more surprises, Risaka simply had enough of Manuel and his nimble yet prowess frame. She raised her leg up to kick back another one of his swiping kicks, palm blocks more of his punches, she overall began to change tactic on how to approach his attacks. If attacking back the same way resuled little she thought that at least big solid hits should be the way to knock him down. Risaka angled her body towards one of his kicks, and isntead of blocking she takes the strike near the side of her back, and very swiftly wraps her arm around the leg, using her body strength to straight up lock Manuel in place.
''I don't have to show anything.''
She responded back to his thirst of fighting, with his leg locked she took the opportunity to pull him off balance, using his weight to create a momentum of her own by swinging him around right before directing the momentum upwards! Risaka swung Manuel above her and slams his body down against the ground with all of her might, enough power to give the ground of the courtyard a shake. But she was far from done, a simple slam would never be enough, she just needed to give herself a set up. Releasing his leg Risaka turned around quickly doing a spring and jumped against a wall and kicks herself off from it. While giving Manuel time to get back up, she was already in the air charging up a kick. Her body spun with her heel reaching out, using her recently newfound move that are able to crack grounds.
''Heel-Smash..!''
While it was not a thing Risaka enjoyed to do, she did announce her move, her heel swinging down at Manuel's position, like a blunt axe that delivers a force far greater that she has previously displayed to him, a single powerful crushing strike.

Yusaku would have sighed if he had lungs to breathe with. So, it was finally over. He watched as the last ditch effors were foiled by his partner taking a moment to get a little respite after all the intense machinations he had to go through to make their fusion work.
He opened up his mouthpiece and raised his eye screen, letting Angel deliver her speech to the twins face to face. He would seal back up as his partner was finishing up her sentence, her voice quickly merging back with his and she spoke through his speaker once again before they would hop over to another area of the castle to help their friends out taking victory home for good.
"Yeah I know. I am glad you like our shared form, but please go easy on me." The robot chimed in the girl's head after she apologized. "I'm close to dip into reserve territory if I don't get my tail inside a power outlet soon. Moving around without merging minds burns way more energy than using my DNI."
He had to predict and account for a lot of variables every time Angel moved, just so he wouldn't suddenly leave her to deal with 100kg of metal and an off center balance point. It would have been immensely easier to do if he could just read her brain patterns...but given the situation and this being their first time fused together he didn't think it was a good idea.
"I eat batteries, but it's fine if you promise me you'll wear me again sometimes and like...go hang out instead of fighting. I can barely feel my paws right now..."
He had to endure though. He forced himself to squeeze back up onto Angel, readjusting his face over Angel's own, supporting her weight.
"We can still fight. As long as we work together, nothing can stop us."

The students of Adler Academy looked like they were in a dire situation right now. Two of them were taken out, one was losing his one-on-one match, and one was being stopped from retreating to safety. That just left a single student left to guard the king. With several UA students just outside the locked door that did not seem to be able to keep them out forever, it seemed that this match's victors would be clear. However, UA was not out of trouble just yet. Time was running out for them. They needed to break through the last of Adler's defenses quickly. Otherwise, time would run out and UA would lose all chances of victory. Would they be able to make it to the king in time? Or would the last remaining Adler student be able to keep UA at bay long enough for the timer to stop?
It all came down to this. The final round. The end was swiftly approaching. Which school would ultimately win? The audience watched in excitement and anticipation, waiting to see the results.
---
The armored knight closest to Chimera tried to block his path with a swing of its blade. Fortunately for him, the robot's bulky armor meant that it had no speed whatsoever, making fleeing from it a simple matter. Seeing as giving chase would quickly become impractical, the robot instead chose to follow its comrade, who began to approach Charlotte. Though they were nothing more than robots that were unlikely to even comprehend the concept of a taunt, much less fall for one, it seemed as though the closer they got, the more aggressive in their attack they became. Were they using some kind of motion detector to locate and attack? Or perhaps they tracked their target with heat or sound? Or a combination of all three?
Regardless, their slowness meant that Charlotte would not get hit with their blade swing. Very fortunate for her, as the very loud thud and crack on the ground meant that these things would hurt a lot! But still they followed after her. Soon, it seemed that they had cornered her! But in actuality, she was the one who had cornered them! With one punch, she had knocked down one robot, having damaged its armor and even wrecking the inside of it, putting it out of commission!
However, the other robot had barely managed to hold on! Its armor was also heavily dented, but it had suffered less damage due to having taken out its shield in the nick of time. So the shield and armor was wrecked, but the robot itself was still mostly intact. Having been freed of its bulky armor, the robot moved with surprising speed as it dropped the bigger sword and drew out the lighter and smaller blade to take on Charlotte.
However, with no armor, that meant that taking down this robot would be even easier. It did not even have time to strike Charlotte as her punch annihilated the robot, smashing it to bits and pieces. Despite her dizziness, at least there would be no other obstacles left to stop her from joining up with her teammates.

Amanda felt a bit nervous. Was that student lying there really unconscious? Or was it a trap? Still keeping her distance, Amanda fired a shot at the fallen student. No response. Perhaps this UA student really wasn't faking it after all. As sad as it was, it would not be too serious. If someone really was unconscious, the medic team would come pick up the student once the siege was over. No need to feel bad for a fallen opponent. Turning around, Amanda then turned to the door.
...Before immediately finding herself being stopped by the opposing team.
From seemingly out of nowhere, a grenade was thrown onto her path. Thankfully, she was warned beforehand and jumped out of the way, avoiding any injury. Unfortunately for her, Chimera was able to use his distraction to his advantage, reaching Amanda before she could properly aim and fire at him. Now being disarmed and lifted up, Amanda tried in vain to struggle against Chimera's hold.
"K-key?" Amanda knew the situation was hopeless. There was no way she could hide the key forever. And there was certainly no way for her to keep it from being taken. Still, she could not give up. She needed to keep trying, no matter how hopeless her situation was. She needed to do her best to support her team until the very end. "What key? T-that lock doesn't h-have a key! That keyhole is just for show! It's actually voice-activated, and there's n-no way I'll give up the password!"
It really would not be that hard to tell that the girl was lying. It also would not be difficult to forcibly take the key from her. All Amanda could do was try her best to stall for as long as she could. Stefan should realize by now that something was wrong. The grenade explosion should be enough to tip him off that something was wrong. That's right! I just need to buy him some time! No matter what!
---
Helen just sighed in defeat. She was too weak to stop the winged girl from breaking her communicator. Her last-ditch attack completely failed. And the worst part? Her sister was far too injured to continue. She just didn't care anymore. Who cares about whether UA or Adler won? Her sister was hurt! Right now, nothing mattered more to Elena. She just wanted the siege to be over so the medic team could come take care of her sister.
She ignored Angel's words. Honestly, she didn't care at all about anything she said. It was all pointless. So what if the girl had another student acting as armor? So what if this was a fair fight after all? Was that supposed to make her feel better? It was hard to resist laughing out loud. And so what if her communicator was destroyed? The fact that Helen could not respond to her team's calls would just alert the others that something was up. Did the winged girl not even consider that? Anyway, it did not matter. Helen had no words for Angel or Yusaku. They were not worth it. She just clung to Elena's unconscious body, hoping that her sister was going to be okay.
Poor Elena. Such injuries. Is this really what it means to be a hero? This whole thing is dumb. It's just senseless fighting for showing off and for the entertainment of others. What about any of this is heroic?
At least the UA students were nice enough to leave her alone with her sister. While Helen did have a first-aid kit in hand, it was incredibly basic. Plus, there was not enough to treat both her wounds and Elena's. Eh, who cares? She needs it more. Hopefully it would be enough until the medic team arrived.
---
Manuel was panting. It was clear that he would not be able to hold out indefinitely. Risaka was simply too powerful. While he needed to build up a combo to reach his maximum power, Risaka could hit relentlessly and without restraint from the start. Needless to say that he was at a major disadvantage here.
Did he care, though? No! Manuel was determined to fight his hardest until the very end. Not just because he was having the time of his life against a worthy opponent, but he also wanted to do what he could to hold the girl up for as long as he could. Someone this strong running off to help her teammates take out the king. It was best to try and keep her from joining up with the rest of the UA students. One less threat for Stefan to have to deal with. So no matter how many times he got knocked down or back, punched, tossed, or slammed to the ground with enough force to shake and crack the ground, Manuel just kept on trying to come back for more.
"Well shit." It was clear that Manuel could barely keep standing. He was becoming more and more exhausted, and there was no way he could continue to take more strong attacks. But he was still standing (or trying to, anyway). Until he could no longer fight, he refused to accept defeat. As long as he could still stand up, he could still fight. He could not allow himself to succumb to his injuries just yet!
Even with Risaka's next attack, Manuel refused to stay down. He barely had time to block and spare himself from the absolute worst of it, but he was still sent flying across the courtyard. It was a testament to his sheer strength and determination (or perhaps stubbornness was the appropriate word here?) that Manuel could even get up from that. Most people would have stayed down. But get up he did, even if gritting his teeth in pain. Damn, I'll be feeling that one for a long while. Even with his disadvantage and heavy injuries, Manuel was not done fighting.
"You're tough. Far tougher than anyone I've faced. No one's pushed me this far this quickly. But you're going to have to come at me with everything you got if you want me to stay down. Let's go!"
With a loud battle cry, he charged at Risaka. His goal was to try and feint a tackle. Once Manuel got close enough, however, he would circle around her and head to the nearby wall. There, he would jump up surprisingly high and kick the wall behind him to gain a small bit of momentum before diving for Risaka. While in midair, Manuel began to spin as much as he could, using his quirk to gradually spin faster and faster to gain as much power and momentum as he could in such a short span of time. And just like his opponent had done so, he announced his move.
"DRILL BLITZ!!!"
It was not perfect. Not nearly enough time for the attack to build up some speed and power. But still, this would definitely hurt if it landed. But if it didn't, then it was doubtful that Manuel would have much energy left to keep on going. Either way, this was his final attack. He was coming at Risaka with everything he got.
Now was the time. One final attack. And with this, only one would remain standing.
---
Stefan looked at his watch. The allotted time was not going to take long to be up. Finally, this siege would be over. He just needed to hold out till then. It was time to check and see how the others were doing. Picking up his communicator, Stefan began to try and reach out to the others. But how strange. Nobody was answering him. "Come in! Does anyone copy?" The other students knew to answer right away unless they were in the middle of something. He had heard from Manuel earlier that he was going to fight a UA student. If that fight was ongoing, then that could explain Manuel's failure to respond. And Amanda was just outside. But what about the twins? Why did Elena and Helen not respond? I don't like this. Stefan did not want to assume the worst, but he needed to prepare for that possibility.
"Amanda, come inside! Do it now!"
But there was no answer. She had responded earlier, but why not now? Did she locate the enemy? No, perhaps the enemy found her. Wait, that sound! The throne room was fortified, but not completely soundproof. The grenade blast was faint, but still audible to Stefan. So that's how it is, then. They got Amanda too. With a sigh, he got up, ready to defend the king until the very end.
Placing his hand on the ground, Stefan activated his quirk. The entire floor in front of him was weakening. If the UA students did break in through the front door with the key Amanda had, taking even a single step inside the room would make them plummet to the dungeon room below. It was a simple quadrilateral room, no bigger than the current throne room, no lighting at all, and no entrance or exit outside of a well-hidden ladder on the wall which could be used to climb out. However, there would be various traps in the dungeon. Lasers, poison gas, nets, tasers, slippery gel, and more. Needless to say, once someone fell in, it would be tough to get back up to the throne room completely intact.
But of course, that was not the worst part. For the dungeon contained one especially fearsome hazard: A large armored robot that resembled a European Dragon! Its neck was long enough for its head to be able to pop out of the pit. So even if no one actually fell in, they were far from safe! And yes, it could shoot fire! This dragon robot was without a doubt the strongest offense and defense of the castle, and the biggest obstacle the students would have to face if they wished to reach and destroy the king.
And should someone simply fly over the makeshift pit and somehow avoid the dragon's wrath? Stefan would simply trigger the traps already in the room and send them plummeting below. A similar array of traps that were in the dungeon were in the throne room as well. Clinging to the walls to try and bypass the makeshift pit would unleash either an electric shock, slippery gel, or poison gas, depending on which motion sensor they accidentally triggered.
But as careful as Stefan was with setting up the traps, it would be difficult for him to notice someone approaching from behind, and below! So far, Luka had done well in digging unnoticed. However, the floor was littered with motion sensors. It would be very difficult to dig up to the interior of the room without setting off at least one alarm. Still, with Stefan next to the king and focusing on what was in front of him, Luka at least had a chance to make one attack before he was noticed. He would only get one shot, however. Would it be enough to count? Or would he fail and be forced to deal with Stefan's retaliation?
The king had a rather simple way of measuring the amount of damage received. All over the mannequin's body were special damage stickers in green, yellow, and red. Each were calibrated to rip specifically upon the mannequin receiving a certain amount of damage. It didn't matter where the king was struck, as the appropriate sticker would be tripped regardless. The green stickers being tripped meant that the king took light damage, nothing a first-aid kit wouldn't fix. The yellow stickers being tripped meant that the king had suffered major injuries, but not lethal ones. And should the red stickers located on the king's head and chest be tripped? It meant that the king had sustained fatal injuries and died. So if any UA student wished to kill the king, they would need to apply enough force for the red damage stickers to rip. Tripping any of the other stickers but not the red ones would not be enough.
There was not much time left. It all came down to this. UA or Adler. Who would ultimately emerge victorious?

837 WC YEET. ALL. THE. THINGS. | Lifting up another person should probably have taken more effort than it did but Chimera could bench a piano, so a person was nothing in comparison. Her words only made his brow arch. "Right, well then you wouldn't mind if I just checked?" With his paws he gave her a little shake up and down and listened for the soft jingle of a metal key on a ring. His sensitive ears picked up on it just as another far louder sound made him tilt his head up. Upside-down (from his perspective) there floated Angel in the Yusasuit. He grinned. "Nice! Perfect. I heard her say a name from down the hall--that must be our fellow."
He shifted all of Amanda into one paw--this was a bit weird, admittedly, but all was fair so long as he kept from touching anywhere bad right?--and with the other poked a claw for the ring of keys he'd heard. Once he had them he would toss them half-blindly upwards, quite confident in Angel's ability to catch it, before he started looking for a place to stick Amanda where she couldn't do farther harm. He could in theory keep restraining her but he wanted his paws free when that door flew open. He spotted one of the suits of armor with their decorative pole-arms and, like something from an old cartoon, hung the back of Amanda's shirt on it, like a discarded coat. He made sure she wasn't going to get strangled by her collar or that the pole-arm would fall, but it held sturdy.
"Just hang out for a bit, okay? I promise we'll be back before your shoulders start to hurt." His smiled turned a bit sheepish (an odd look for a goat). "And, um, good game? Whoever put the swarm of roombas back there, I need to let them know we have their clone at our school. Or something. Uh, bye for now."
Chimera turned back around, having expected Angel to unlock the door, and rotated his shoulders. He then glanced sideways at the decoy as it melted into pale blue mush. Why Red, of all people? Just because they'd fought in the tournament? Well. That crazy blonde already had his finale with the other crazy blonde on a runaway train. Chimera did not envy their teammates.
"So we haven't run into the glass guy yet. Was he with the ones you faced?" His nerves were a bit high, still, at the risk of fighting somebody who could so easily draw blood. "If not...let's be careful about touching anything." Angel and Yusaku would be fine if they were flying, right? No risk of collapsing through a floor they weren't standing on. Him and Charlie on the other hand...oh, speak of the prawn, there she was. Chimera gave her a slightly worried look. "Are you sure you're up to fight more? We can probably leave it to them...?"
The heavy iron door swung open, and inside there was a flippin' robot dragon.
Oh. Okay.
"Look at that, a mecha-Jack." Chimera said as flippantly as he could. He started taking a step forward towards the dragon head, aware of the person closer to the throne. He was still so close to the King--the smart thing to do would be to pull him away or force him to get closer, but if he was their missing "glass canon" (that was a horrible joke) then he might not need to. Something also smelled awful nearby, not to unlike the nauseating flowers he'd face in his fight with Miku. Poison? Was there poison in here? Where was it coming fr--
On that note his ears could make out the faint cracking of something under his paw when it came down on the floor in the throne room. Immediately he jerked back, foot landing behind him instead. "Glass floor!" Chimera barked, and an arm went out to his side on instinct to stop anyone who might have been behind him--Charlie was really the only one, with Luka sneaking, Risaka brawling, and Angelsaku flying above them--before they stepped into the room.
How far into the room was this guy's Quirk? Could Chimera feasibly leap it, if he had a running start? He was fast but not that mobile. He could probably toss Charlie if she needed him to but otherwise trying to cross this thing was dangerous. So. Improvise. Chimera looked at another one of the pole-arms--the ones not currently holding up a small lavender-haired girl--and moved to rip it from its spot. He then returned to in front of the door. He didn't know enough about spears to know it was a halbred, which wasn't a throwing weapon, but he'd also thrown chunks of wall, a grenade, a piece of a model of Stonehenge, and a tree this weekend, so this was apparently his new fighting style.
"This is probably not how this is used, but fuck it! Lance away!" He then tossed the lance as hard as he could towards the dragon's waiting maw.

| A ngel made sure to listen dutifully as Yusaku told her that he was close to dipping into reserves because she had driven him so hard without their minds being merged. This caused Angel to just nod as she filed away that he somehow ate batteries. It was nice to hear him say that as long as they worked together there was no way that they could lose. This caused her to grin even wider tehn her already wide grin as she saw Chimara quickly discard one of their final foes by literally hanging them up to dry on a pole arm. Chimara then tossed her up the key which Angel caught. Before flying toward the door however she lowered herself down to their foe and reached for her com link and quickly crushed it so that their last remaining foe didn't know they were coming if he didn't already. "better safe then sorry!"Angel then flew at the top speed that she was currently capable of with how secretly tired she was feeling. Once the door was unlocked she quickly flew inside knowing she would be followed by the grounded Chimara. Sadly as soon as her friend stepped inside the floor began to crumble in front of her as she stepped back revealing..a robot dragon!? By the gods, where did the other students get these damn traps! If they made them Angel would have to give them props! Before that however Angel knew that she had to focus up on her task at hand. Whatever Luka was up to it was clear that she was after the king somehow which meant that it was Angel's and Yusaku's job to keep their foes attention off of the king. As she stared down Stefan Angel took a small breath and decided to speak to Yusaku. "Our time is almost up and our other big gun is still busy outside. Luka is probably going for the assassination so we gotta keep this dude focused on us. I've never used my ultimate more then once in a fight, but drastic times call for drastic measures. If I pass out I want you to detach from me and do your best to hold him back!"Once her orders were given she turned her attention to Stefan as she braced herself for her attack run. "I've already taken out your tag team twins, my fuzzy horned friend behind me took out your gal pal and our resident goth nuke is polishing off your guy outside. You are all that's left between us and victory, but not for long!"Angel hoped that her boasting would cause her foe to falter and hesitate as she suddenly flew toward him launching 10 feathers straight for him and 5 toward her right side at a curve hoping to try and cause him to jump to the left as she used her right wing to launch herself to the left before pressing against her left wall hard enough to crack it and then launched herself at Stefan's left side hardening all of her remaining feathers one last time and wrapping them around her body as she began to spin her body counter clockwise to try and use the vortex of air to pull her foe in as she spun in her drill like attack. "Ultimate Move! Angelic Drill!" |
[/color][/b] This was Angel's last ditch attack. She had never used her ultimate move twice in the same conflict before and her body was running on empty and so if it failed it would be up to Yusaku to locked their foe down so that Luka could grab the win for them, their country and their school! Think it'll work? It'd take a miracle. THE PRAWN'S PATH WAS, THANKFULLY, clear and unhindered by any more obstacles. Charlotte picked her way dizzily through the wreckage, but arms throbbing as she walked, a pulsating sickness threatening to clamber its way out of her throat. She did her best to swallow the feeling, pinching her eyes shut. Charlie arrived in the doorway, leaning against the door-frame. Angel and Yusaku had seemed to join the group, and were eagerly discussing next steps with Chimera. Okay, good—she had time to catch her breath.
Chimera took note of her, his expression going drawn when he noticed the prawn. He asked if Charlie was okay, at which Charlotte nodded, giving a meager—and frankly, unconvincing, “I-I’m okay.”
If Chimera insisted that someone else handle the fighting, she probably wouldn’t protest too much. Charlotte wobbled after Chimera towards the now-open door, her steps unsteady. A mechanical dragon reared at them, facing the unsuspecting students.
“I already used-up my two punches,” Charlotte murmured. Her hands moved stiffly towards her fanny-pack retrieving a handful of cherry bombs and her lighter. Her arms twinged sharply with each move, as if every motion prompted a stab by an invisible knife.
The prawn maneuvered one of the cherry bombs into the cradle of the slingshot that she had stolen from the Roomba.
And a glass floor, too?!
Chimera charged ahead, lobbing a lance at the dragon.
“Here,” the prawn said, wedging herself next to her hircine friend.
She lit the cherry bomb, drew the slingshot back, and launched it towards the dragon’s head. There were so many opportunities for error—exploding after impact, not actually hitting the dragon at all, whatever—the goal wasn’t to do damage, however. It was to distract. Charlotte stiffly lowered her arms, and began to load another cherry bomb.
She lit this one as well, drew the slingshot, and fired.
Charlotte sighed, lowering her arms so as to rub the ache out of them. She sighed.
“My arms are going to hurt so bad tomorrow.”

Luka didn't really need to breathe, but he still took a moment or two to catch his breath so to speak, gathering himself and adjusting his position to be able to launch himself as best he could. He knew he'd only get one shot, he could not miss his chance, he didn't want to blow this opportunity. He knew for a fact that he was right near the king, and thus far did not seem to have been detected. That meant that he was close to being in the perfect position for their victory, but if he failed then their chances of winning would drastically reduce. No pressure or anything.
He could feel the floor vibrate out in front of his position, hear the movements of the ground as things beyond his current knowledge happened. He had to move, and he had to move now! While the various defences were being activated, Luka forced his way through the floor in a sudden stream of slime, the small student surveying his surroundings, orienting himself to the locations of everyone in the room, and immediately shooting towards the king. He could see other U.A. students across the room from him, noted with absent-minded awe the giant robotic dragon that blocked their path, and was hyper-aware of the Adler student standing near the king. But none of them were as important as his target.
Trying to utilise the element of surprise as best as he could, Luka would attempt to engulf the king within his slimy body, his amorphus body enveloping the mannequin and pressing down against it, the two lines that indicated his current viewpoint aimed directly at Stefan as he kept an eye on the Adler student. If he landed successfully around the mannequin, Luka would begin trying to essentially blend it, sharp blades of hardened slime mixed with as much constriction as he could give tearing into the body of the false monarch while also attempting to crush it into a shape that no normal human would survive, in much the same manner that a meat grinder operated. At the same time his outer body shot out a number of sharpened spines of slime in Stefan's direction, attempting to force the Adler student back and prevent him from helping the individual that he was protecting. He wasn't trying to hurt the other Heroics student, just force him away long enough to allow Luka to finish off the king safely.
"You have lost, stand down" he would declare should he safely capture the king, breaking it down within his own body as quickly as he could. Given enough time, he'd turn the king's mannequin into a ball of shredded material, allowing him to sit on the floor as a large blob and stare around without concern. If he missed his chance, then Luka's reaction would be simple, go on the offensive. If consumption of the king was not possible then Luka's only choice would be to go all in and all out, tendrils of slime lashing out in an attempt to overwhelm any protection that Stefan provided, the sheer number of sharpened tentacles hopefully enough to overwhelm the King's final defense and end the match. They were almost out of time, out of energy, and out of luck, so this was really the only chance he could see for victory.
They had fought so hard, gotten so far, and were trying to prove to the world that they were the future of heroics, and though his actions in taking down the king might not come across as super heroic... sometimes you did what you had to in order to succeed.

''Everyday I ask myself if I even should bother'' words • tagged @ • notes | The air time from her wall kick was imrpessively long, even for her, because she always preferred short effective movements, but due to the high intensity growing between her and the stubborn Manuel she kicked off from the wall way too hard, resulting her hitting him pretty well, but instead of pushing him down it sent him flying.
''No way! That was not enough, my foot is not burning up!''
Everytime Risaka had landed her special labelled move the sensation of impact could be described as having the blood in her foot boiling due to the high compact pressure. But she felt nothing, even if it hit him, hell, for most people the scene certainly looks painful for Manuel, to be sent across the courtyard like that.
And sure enough, her small prediction came true, seeing the still energetic Manuel emerge from the rubble she wiped her bangs to the left with an angered glare at him.
''It's all of my effort you want? Fine, I feel tired and annoyed so this'll be your final chance.''
Seeing him prepare himself, Risaka took off her black coat and reveals her tight sports wear underneath. To her this was a good moment to give it all, for this match was soon over and she practically got no reason to not spend rest of her energy. Her lazy eye kept twitchin, after this clash she is likely gonna sit down and take a mini nap.
''Come on..!''
She held her arms open and watched him gather his speed, such momentum allowing him to dash through the air with a spinning force, but instead of trying to make a complicated manevour Risaka tensed her body up, one leg back, one digging into the ground ont he front, her shoulders rising up, her right fist clenching. With her free hand she used it to take aim at the incoming spinning blitz move.
''Allow me to punch your efforts away!''
With her punch charged up, she used her entire body for the incoming explosion of energy. Just as Manuel was only a whole meter away from Risaka, the gray student thrusts her fist forward, very much like an enhanced piston, a punch that made a clean contact against Manuel's foot. The two of them stopped in their tracks before the result of the power-clash was announced. Her fist was not budging, but infact she kept pushing forward, crushing away the emitting force of momentum, acting like a steelwall that rejects the Drill Blitz to go any further.
Risaka BLASTS Manuel's spinning body away, with her entire body absorbing his kick's tremendous force she delivered back one that pushed him so hard back that he flew right back where he started!
The imapct itself let out a mini burst of shockwave that echoed through the entire courtyard. She stood up after punching Manuel back to the start, shaking her hand and feels the extreme hot sensation of pain and physical trauma to her nerves. ''Egh... it hurts...*yawn*'' She couldn't focus on the current situation, what matters is that she took down the punk down, looking at him from the distance she cracks the knuckles of the heated fist, caressing it. ''I only got one opponent? I guess that's enough, not that I got more time and energy to give.'' With no idea what iss going on within the castle she promptly sits down and crosses her legs into a meditating position, sighing and closing her eyes to relax, she however did not deactivate her quirk, for who knows what else might happen when she tries to fight back against her sleep inducing drawback.
''...I am gonna end up sleeping all day aren't I?''

The audience was watching closely, looking at the timer that was ticking down. Pretty soon, that timer would hit zero. Would the king be assassinated in time? Or would the timer reach zero before the win condition could be achieved? Would UA be able to seize victory from the jaws of defeat? Or would Adler manage to hold on just long enough to secure the win? It was anyone's guess, but there was no doubt about one thing. The match would be exceedingly close.
---
Despite her best attempts, Amanda just could not keep the key from being stolen from her. "H-hey! Let me go!" But it was no use. She lacked the strength needed to break free of Chimera's hold on her. She could only sigh as she was hung up on the pole-arm of one of the suits of armor. She simply nodded upon hearing Chimera's words. "Alright." One way or another, the match was close to done. Her role in this was pretty much over now.
But then she was shocked upon seeing Angel reach for and destroy her communicator. "H-hey! What was that for?" It was an utterly pointless act. Seeing as Amanda could not respond to Stefan immediately, he would already know that something was up. Oh well, it made no difference. Either way, it was all up to Stefan to guard the king for as long as possible.
---
Meanwhile, Stefan was already aware of the UA students' arrival. And he was already prepared to fight, grabbing some nearby weapons next to the throne after he was finished weakening the floor. More specifically, a club and a spear. The moment he had done so was the moment the locked door was unlocked and opened. Alright, time to make my final stand here!
Of course, the mechanical dragon was the primary weapon of choice. The moment the door was opened, the dragon would turn its attention to the intruders. With a loud roar (with how realistic it sounded, it would have been difficult for most people to realize that it was just playing an audio recording), it began its attack. The dragon charged up its flamethrower, ready to incinerate the would-be assailants! However, a well-timed lance throw from Chimera and some cherry bombs from Charlotte were enough to interrupt the fire breath.
The thrown weapon became stuck inside the dragon's gaping maw. Just as the mecha began to close its mouth to completely crush the lance, one of the cherry bombs landed inside, exploding upon impact. While the second one had missed due to the mechanical beast moving its head away, it made little difference. The blast from the first bomb had done its job. Some sparks and smoke could be seen erupting from the robot's mouth. It tried to let out a roar and some flames, but all that came out was a loud static and some tiny embers and sparks. It was clear that the inner mechanisms that allowed the flamethrower to function properly had now been damaged.
Still, the mecha dragon was far from vanquished. Though greatly weakened, the embers and sparks would still hurt quite a bit if Charlotte and Chimera were too slow to dodge. Plus, the robot still had its tough claws and fangs. Despite that, however, it was still just a robot. Like all the others, it too could be demolished. Not easily, but it was doable.
---
If Angel was hoping that her words would make Stefan falter or hesitate, then she would probably be disappointed. Instead, Stefan seemed more determined and resolute. His teammates had all did their best, had done everything they could to fight back for as long as they could. And he would do the same, if not more. Anything less would be an insult to his defeated classmates. "So what? My team fought hard, and so shall I!"
As Angel launched her attack, Stefan was already making his counterattack. Activating his quirk, Stefan weakened the spear he was holding. As the spear was far smaller, his quirk would take effect much faster on it than it did with the floor. He then immediately threw the fragile spear with as much force as he could. It immediately shattered into multiple pieces, instantly colliding with all the feathers being shot in his direction. Dodging and moving out of the way was unnecessary, as Stefan was confident in his aim, precision, and strength. And just as he thought, the broken shards of the spear were able to collide with and slow down all of the feathers just enough to make them all fall short of their target.
As Angel made her next attack, Stefan did his best to get out of the way and avoid being pulled in. However, that was when he noticed it. One of the alarms in the back of the room had gone off. What the...? To Stefan's surprise, a slime boy had appeared from seemingly out of nowhere! And said slime boy was beginning to attack the king directly! Stefan was in quite the bind. On one hand, he could not ignore Angel and Yusaku. But on the other hand, dealing with them meant giving Luka the time he needed to achieve checkmate. It was a tough decision. Protect the king from immediate harm, or defend himself to be in a better position to defend the king?
Ultimately, the choice was not as difficult to make as one would think. The king needed to be protected at all costs.
"I don't think so!" Stefan would attempt to swipe at Luka with his club, trying his best to swat away the student. However, even if Luka was not defending himself, the attack would just barely not be able to reach him. All thanks to Angel's attack pulling Stefan just far enough away from Luka and the king. So now the armored winged girl became the new target of his club swing. But with Yusaku there, any damage received would be lessened. And that was assuming that the two couldn't move out of the way in time.
With that, Luka was free to devour the king unimpeded. But would he be fast enough to do so before time ran out?
---
One explosive clash of attacks. One final strike. And with that, the battle of the two students had come to an end. Risaka was the one who emerged victorious, with Manuel sent flying and unable to get back up after falling down. The Adler student sighed. Well shit, I guess this is my limit. Despite no longer having the strength to stand up, Manuel was pleased. Not many opponents were able to push him this far, let alone defeat him like this. "Hey, thanks for the good fight." Who knows, maybe next year, he would get to have a rematch with this one. If he did, he looked forward to it.
Sorry Stefan. I guess this is it for me. There was not much else Manuel could do now. His opponent was simply too strong. Still, this was not such a bad thing. He was able to keep this UA student occupied. If someone like her were to be at the throne room, then surely Stefan would have a very hard time. Looking at it like that, then losing like this wasn't so bad after all. Manuel had no regrets. He did his job.
---
BOOM!
The second cannon. Just as the first cannon announced the start of the match, this one was the one that marked the end of it. Just like the first, it was loud enough for all contestants to hear. All traps were instantly deactivated, all robots still functioning immediately shut off (including the dragon, assuming that it had not been dealt with already). Teams of medics began to rush in to treat the injured. The match was over. The siege had ended.
But who won? That was the question on everyone's mind.
Thankfully, the helpful announcer would delightfully give the answer, even to the students within the castle thanks to the many speakers within the place. Thanks to the well-hidden high-speed cameras scattered all over the castle, the action was all caught. It would be easy for the audience to view the replays in slow motion. The crowd had their eyes glued on the big screen, watching the slime boy attack the king. Were the damage stickers on the king tripped? It was easy to check. The green ones, the ones that signified light injuries? Of course. It would have been a miracle if the king went unscathed. The yellow stickers that represented major injuries? Tripped, naturally. But the real question concerned the red stickers, the ones that tripped upon receiving fatal injuries. Were those tripped?
...
"YES! Yes they were!" The king was dead, without a doubt! But the cannon was fired while Luka was still attacking the king. Was the fatal injury dealt before or after the cannon shot? If it was before, then UA wins. But if it was after, then Adler were able to stall long enough to win. But how to figure that out? Fortunately, it was easy. As the announcer explained, there was tiny microchip on the damage sticker that constantly emits a signal. This signal stopped as soon as the red damage sticker was tripped. So it would be easy to verify the exact second that the king was killed. And with that, the exact time that the signal was stopped was shown on the screen for the audience. That was then followed by the exact time the match was finished.
...
So who won? Was the king killed before or after the end of the match?
...
...
"IT WAS BEFORE! UA WINS! UA WINS!"
And with those words from the announcer, the victors of the match were made clear. UA had triumphed today! They were this year's winners. The crowd cheered loudly, applauding both schools. Even though they lost, the Adler students applauded as well, having done their best out there and getting to show off their strength and abilities. But at the end of the day, there were no true losers. Both schools had done well showing off quite the display of power, technique, and ingenuity. Both schools fought like winners today.
But in a way, the true winners were the audience. Those watching were treated to quite the spectacle after all. Being able to forget about the world's troubles for just a bit by watching several teenagers beat the shit out of each other. What better prize was there than that?

520 WC We won, we won!! | I'm pretty sure Tetsuko is gonna get on my case for misuse of weaponry...The definitely-not-a-throwing-weapon polearm went soaring right at the robot's face and got itself stuck in the roof of its mechanical mouth. Not a moment later a cherry bomb flew past him and into its "throat". Chimera gave a worried glance back at Charlie. She hadn't thrown that had she? Oh, no, she'd used the slingshot. Good. He didn't want her to injure her arms from over-exertion.
"Better an ache than dislocating anything, yeah? Don't force yourself, fu--" Alas, as good as their attack had been, the dragon was still firing off sparks and swinging its claws at them. Chimera didn't even hesitate. He stepped into Charlie and lifted her in something of a football tackle but without the "tackle" part. With her scooped he easily rushed them both out of harm's way, putting them behind the wall past the door frame. He put her back on down carefully. "Uh, sorry," he grinned sheepishly, "For sweeping you off your feet." God, that was bad. Shame. I should be shamed for that. They weren't at a good angle to see the action now, but Chimera could hear Luka's voice coming from in the direction of the king and his ears perked high. The other person made a shout of protest. Then...the weirdest thing he'd heard in a while. It sounded like like a blender submerged in jello. Or a lawn mower full of mud. Whatever it was, it was weird. Was that Luka? What in the world was he doing in there? And he wasn't hearing it stop...
"I think--" BOOM!! Chimera jumped, his paws coming up to hold his ears for a second after the canon went off. Not because it hurt--the earbuds given to him prevented that--but because it had startled him. That was the end-of-game signal wasn't it??Chimera turned back around to look through the doorway and try to make out what had happened through the smoke of the dragon's attack and...whatever the heck was now sitting on the throne. It looked like Luka, but stretched, like an image file not properly edited. Had that blending sound him on the king? There was a moment of quiet. Had they gotten it on time? He'd heard Luka start the assault before the canon went off, but had he tripped the right thing before it had? If they lost this by seconds, he couldn't imagine the response it would get from their classmates, or his own (relatively small) ego. And then the announcer spoke up. Chimera's muzzle split into a huge, toothy smile before he let out a triumphant bark! He almost offered a high-five to Charlotte but, uh, her arm was still all sorts of fucked up right? So it was a low-five instead. Same thing. "Hell yes!! URRGH, I was ready to have a heart atta--oh, hang on." Chimera took a few more steps away to pluck Amanda off of the lance. No point in having her hanging after the clock went off. "Are your shoulders alright? Good game!!" |

Think it'll work? It'd take a miracle. THE PRAWN SIGHED, AMUSED BUT too exhausted to breathe some sarcastic quip back at Chimera. Whether or not dislocating her arm was possible after a shockwave punch was open to debate. She was watching the beast sputter and lash-out, too transfixed to move.
Charlie didn't even register that the dragon was attacking until Chimera had already (somewhat aggressively) scooped the prawn up in his arms. Reflexively, the prawn clung tightly to her friend, arms looping around the back of his neck. She was such a featherweight, contrary to her height, so being swept away wasn't such a big surprise.
"Nothing to be sorry about," the prawn sighed, "Thanks dude."
Chimera lowered the prawn back onto her own feet, but she remained with one arm looped around his shoulder, her lavender eyes growing slightly unfocused.
"Nadia's gonna give you shit about this," she murmured, thinly delighted by the idea. It was no secret that the younger sister believed Chimera and Charlie to be an item, despite protests from the two of them. Her head reeled, the corners of her vision growing dark while everything else simultaneously seemed far too bright.
The prawn slouched against the wall, focusing on breathing and the pain in her arms. Chimera's ears twitched, following sounds Charlotte couldn't hear. Maybe… sitting… wasn't a bad option. Charlie undid her arm from its place around her companion's shoulder, sliding into a sitting position on the floor.
A cannon sounded. Chimera left her side to check the throne room. Bile roiled at the back of the prawn's throat, an acrid tinge.
"You look awful," Amanda remarked.
"Yeah," the prawn agreed, exhaustion heavy upon her tone, "Hey, sorry about the communicator."
Charlie hadn't been the one to crush it, but she knew as well as anyone that tech was expensive, particularly small tech.
The announcer decried U.A.'s victory, followed by the roar of distant cheers. Chimera returned, expression elated, offering an outstretched palm for a low-five. The prawn returned it. He then went to help Amanda down.
"Good game," the prawn echoed, her sportsmanly remark distinctly more staid than Chimera's. She got unsteadily back to her feet, the world tilting dizzily around her.
"Chim?" Charlie called uncertainly, "If… it isn't… too much trouble, can we walk off the grounds together? My equilibrium is all whack. Don't wanna… eat shit… in front of a live audience."
There was a gentle affirmation. Two of the many victors from U.A. would emerge from the castle together, one with their arm looped casually around the other's shoulder, waving joyously towards the stands of spectators.

Having been ready for a counter attack, Luka's extended slime spines readied themselves to prevent Stefan from hitting his main body even as he began to play the very old game of 'will it blend' on the king. Most of his focus was on the inner part of his body that was systematically tearing the mannequin apart, so he was rather lucky that the attack was aborted thanks to the intervention of Angel wearing Yusaku. Sure, he could have defended himself, but it was better that he didn't have to.
With Adler's last real threat distracted, Luka kicked his body into overdrive, shredding through his target with a heavy focus on the areas that he considered most vital in the hopes of finishing it off before they ran out of time. He knew that they had to be close to being out of it, and he didn't want to get so far only to have them fail. The echoing boom of the cannon resounded through the castle, telling him that it was time to stop his assault. It took the slime boy a few moments to cease the shredding action, having worked his body up into a tempo of sharpened slime it wasn't a simple thing to stop. Once he had however he detached from what remained of the king, the head and torso nothing but ribbons and wires, while the arms and everything below the waist were practically untouched. The small boy shifted back into his human form just as the arms hit the ground and stretched his shoulders slightly, coughing up a small bit of the mannequin that had gotten stuck in his slime body as he waited for the announcement.
It was kind of intense, being unsure whether they had succeeded or not, but Luka felt he had shown of much of his skillset, and he had tried his best, so what more could he really do? Not only that, but he'd been able to think up more ways to use his quirk, and identified a possible area in which he could improve in order to better utilise his abilities in the future. If nothing else, he could find some solace in that. Luckily he didn't really need to, as their victory was declared shortly after the cannon shot. It was nice to win something for once, that was for sure, even if he hadn't done as much as he might have liked, he'd still pulled at least some of his own weight. It'd be useful to have a proper debrief when they all gathered again, to see what the others had experienced and hopefully learn from one another.
Luka casually wandered off the field, doubling back a little to get around the obstacles that still hadn't been disabled, and went in search of the other U.A. students. He'd spent most of that match on his own after getting hurled into a wall, he'd rather not be isolated yet again after the match. He was trying so hard to break out of his shell after all
