"I am so so SO sorry about this. Just feel like I am gonna be ruining this thing for you all!" "Come on, mate! it ain't that big of a deal! If ye want' ye can just go ahead and sit this one out, and let the ladies show off their asse-OWOWOW" "Seriously, that seems like such an easy problem to fix. Right Aiden?" "Uh... Yeah. Probably. Although, the other team is preeeeetty dang prepared themselves! Has me nervous as well..." "Seriously?" "Me not scared, Me PUMPED! Me can beat the foe DOUBLE for Carter!" "Thanks Riley... Oh why couldn't they be underground trains... Just deep into the soil, the arms of nature! Just standing on cold metal makes me feel iffy on the toes..." "But we are against a team of six right? If we drop him, we'll be at a severe disadvantage! Besides, Arias right, There is an easy fix! Tell us!" "Exactly! It's a train right? Stuff that you need has to be easy to find. Tell em Aiden! "I-I guess. Gimme a minute... admittedly gadgetvise... and if we do this..."
The day had come. The great event, that was the greatest of fights between the schools. Proper finale for all rivalries that were going on between them and in the end, the perfect bonding moment for the students in said schools. Valiant had taken this duty of being a host to the event very seriously, and in todays event, it showed... Around the lake that surrounded valiant, humongous tracks had been settled, a pair that pretty much made the rainy landscape shine... if it wasn't for the humongous shapes of the trains, one red and one blac that stood tall, like humongous guard dogs, ready to surround the island and protect it from anything. Building something like this wasn't cheap. But it certainly did make for good gossip and discussion topic at Tea. Both of the trains also had a single passenger train attached to them. Although their purpose was seemingly more to be a platform for the students. "LISTEN UP, BOYS AND GIRLS!" The voice of the principal echoed across the station, mighty, loud and proud, like the sound of King arthur come to life! "Now, I want to remind every single one of you, that this event shall show the most needed parts of a heroes soul... the readiness for teamwork! The MIGHT of the locomotive! And the INGENUITY, of a tactical genius! But also, in this special case, THE FUN of teamwork based on trust is as important as the rest! I want you all to enjoy this exhilarating experience, that the mighty engineers of Valiant institute have created for all of you!""...Gosh, you sure this guy ain't american?" "S-s-ssssh!""I will recount the rules for all of you to hear! The premise is simple! You will ride your own train through the mighty interesting territory surrounding our institute, whilst trying to stop the other team from circling around it 4 times first! The trains are very durable! You won't be able to break them completely! However, there are plenty of ways to make them slow down, from mechanical experties, creating obstacles, using your surroundings to make those obstacles! It is going to be glorious combat of two heavy metal monstrosities!"
Carter scratched his neck, clearly a bit worried, only for Riley to give him a gentle kick to the backside.
"For now however, Meet our glorious students for today! The students of japanese U.A up against the Canadian Chevalier D'Eon!" With that announcement, the students were suggested to run in-between the two huge trains, to stand next to it, like some sort of soccer team ready to go. The students of Chevalier D'Eon were all looking at their opponents, although every single one of them was concentrating on a whole different aspect of them... Although the group itself looked quite unique in itself, with the big man carrying a huge sack and being barefoot, and all of the others but this green troll looking thing wearing the uniform of the school. The troll, was seemingly just wearing a shirt with her schools name scribbled on it, and sportpants. The air however, was still relatively serious. "With the rules of courteousness, feel free to talk with the other team before we begin proper! We are all friends here after all!"
...And as permission was given the silence was immediately broken, with the oni pointing at a clear target. "A BEAR!" The childish excitement exploded outwards, As she jumped in front of them and proceeded to give a quick jab towards their hairy hide. "Paddington padded?! Or Fluffed!? Gonna see when beat stuffing out, yeh?!" Carter proceeded to grab the oni by the head, and pulled her backwards. "Sorry for hype! We are all kind of ready to fight but, uh... My names Carter, and this girls Riley!" "You making enemy pal! Not smart." "What can I say, gotta be friendly! Who knows, Makes it more alright when we beat them down right, hehe!" Riley lowered her head to one side, before nodding. "Sense you make. I still don't trust though!" Carter proceeded to put a hand inbetween riley and his mouth to try and hide what he would say... "Pardon her a bit, will ya? She is a bit awkward around strangers cause of stuff she has went through! Heck of a bro, though when you get to know her proper!"Meanwhile, Others were also taking a look at the contestants. "...Oh my gosh, you are the smallest person I've ever seen!" For a moment, the neat haired girl glared at the gnome, only to jump backwards a with her hands up. "I-I mean, that's absolutely adorable! Not being rude or anything, just, Curious! N-names Mia Wilson!" She bowed towards the gnome, and offered her whole open palm to shake, making Aria facepalm a little, before taking a clear step forward, pulling the shy boy along. "We've heard a lot of good things about your school. Although admittedly, it looks like Aiden here has read you guys like an open book, just with such a small introduction!" Aiden on the side was hiding his eyes, and blushing... "Come on, boss! Introduce yourself!" Aiden took probably smallest steps known to man, but biggest to himself, as he proceeded to put his hand towards the blonde boys... "Y-yeah, my name is A-a-aiden Smith... It's nice to meet such uh... Smart and cool-" "AND GOOD LOOKING GIRLS!" Suddenly the boy was knocked down to the ground, replaced by a guy, with eyes locked on to the redheads. "BonJOOOOOOOUR MADE-MOI-SELLES!" He lifted both of his thumbs up, as a brief puff of smoke shot from his nostrils. He slicked his hair back, proceeded to walk a bit. "Now admittedly, I didn't expect the GLORIOUS principal of valiant to make our first double date so action packed but..." He took a knee. "I am ready to make an exception, for my name is Grayson Trembla-" It was time for Grayson to hit the floor, as he got a proper smack on the face. "H-H-Hey I gotta be ready to compete!" "Not with that attitude!" The girl crossed her arms. "My name's Aria. And like this guy said, his name is Aiden." He helped Aiden up, and dusted his uniform. "Don't mind that idiot. Now Aiden, you have the floor."Aiden looked at his enemies, as his knees were shaking. This guy clearly wasn't one for social interactions... "I uh... I was saying smart and cool... Gadgets! Just seeing that all of you are kind of gadget based is just, so cool. Well, aside the bear maybe... Do you have something in that fur of yours?" Aria laughed, as Aiden panicked, like he had done something wrong. "A-Anyway. Let's just say we are also very gadget based..."
"So, I think, we might be proper prepared to handle you guys... But may the best school win!" He offered his hand forward as a friendly gesture. One of the trains let out smoke with a loud Choo choo. "After you are done, take your position on your assigned train, and PREPAAAAAAAAARE FOR MOMENTUM!"
Heyho. This first round is pretty much seeing which one of you guys are active, so feel free to mingle with the folks for one post. Then, choose where you want to place yourself initially on the train. I hope you guys will have fun! Since a student list and color was requested...: Carter Brown - Earth ManipulationAiden smith - MagnetismGrayson Tremblay - PyrokinesisMia Wilson - InvisibilityRiley Evans - OniAria Reid - Mechanic

The big day! The teté-a-teté between the Japanese students of U.A and the Canadian students of Chevalier D'Eon was to commence in but a few moments – Tsuji was dressed for the occasion, wearing the uniform of a Japanese railway Conductor, something he had whipped up a couple of days beforehand. He placed the hat on his head, and made sure his gloves were on properly. Showtime. Alongside most of his peers, namely Red, Yumi, Feng, Momoko, and Yojin, they had a chance to talk to the other students before the bout truly commenced proper. He was highly excited for this, as it was last year that Tsuji had the pleasure of meeting Carter Brown, considered the top student of their school. After a little friendly competition, they both enjoyed their time, but the bear was slightly bogged down due to the fact that he wasn't able to speak proper English. But, with Haruuhi's translator, it would be a much smoother pre-match meetup. The principal of the Valiant Institute began to speak, calling out the rules. It seemed like they had to make 4 laps around the train track, whilst trying to get the others in a disadvantage. Seemed simple enough, and with two cars – one for the driving, one for passengers – it'd be an interesting battle. With the announcement from the principal to run out, Tsuji did so, stepping out and waving towards anyone watching, and stood by the train, crossing his arms in a cool pose. And with the courtesy call, it was time to talk. The bear began to walk over, but was soon interrupted by a large yell towards him, followed by a jab at his body. It didn't hurt too much, but it was surprising to say the least. The owner of the punch was a pretty strong looking green lady, almost oni-like. Her call to battle wasn't to be taken lightly, it seemed, though, as she was raring to go. Pulling out his translator, Tsuji spoke into it, outputting the English: “Well, I'm a normal guy, really. But I'm sure it'll be fun, haha!” he said, scratching the back of his neck. Carter then pulled her away, though, and introduced himself and the green girl, called Riley, properly. “Yo, Carter! Long time no see, it'll be exciting to see how it goes, eh? I've gotten a lot stronger since our contest, y'know!” said Tsuji. From that bout, he knew that Carter's quirk was related to manipulating the ground beneath him, which was why he was barefoot. Not sure what he'd be able to do on a moving train, but as the supposed best of the school, it was possible he could pull something off. Looking at the rest of the students, it was a quite diverse group, with some pretty interesting looking people. The shyest-seeming of the lot, Aiden, had assessed the gang, he seemed more like the studious type. On his question, Tsuji would answer: “Nope, everything in me is 100% natural! All muscle, all bear! I, and all my friends, will hope for a good match! Let's show the world what we can do!” he said, giving a thumbs up and a smile. After the pleasantries, it was now time to find the proper positioning on the train. The group had gotten together beforehand and discussed ideas, and Tsuji, being the least tech-savvy among the gang, had agreed that he'd be on the offence. But it'd be easier to get across to the other train at higher speed, so for now, he'd be in place on the passenger cart. All that remained now was for everyone to take their place, and the train battle of the century would begin! “C'mon guys, all aboard!” he said, taking the whistle and blowing into it.

Post by Yumi Tasukai on Mar 2, 2020 4:58:47 GMT -4
Yumi… couldn’t really believe this was going to be a thing. Battling across trains just as an exhibition. Jesus these places were meant to be getting their budget’s cut. How did they have the money to splurge on potentially ruinable trains. Where these things ever even gonna get re-used when they were potentially gonna have huge dents or gaping holes in them once this was all done? Of course Yumi couldn’t really complain. This concept, along with the castle battle, was gonna be hype as hell and she was MORE than eager to see what could be made of it all! The announcer was hyped up to hell himself and Yumi, already in her hero costume, was eager to see what the other school could bring out in her own team.
Tsuji, Yojin, Red… tiny girl she didn’t really remember the name of. No one she really had a bad thing to say about. Of course… she and Feng were on slightly rocky ground here but that would be dealt with in time. If she could make up with Kirk after what had set her off there she could make up with Feng of all people. Right? Right.
Speaking of the issue with Red though Yumi had a somewhat prideful smile aimed at him as she looked him up and down. It had been one hell of a rush job but with some skill and last minute supplies (And a little help from her mom) Yumi had managed to put her boyfriend in a fitting costume for the day. Hey just cause she couldn’t cosplay in hero work thanks to her quirk didn’t mean Red couldn’t enjoy the same benefits right?~ Besides it was still her work on display and if she had to say so herself he looked quite dashing in some steampunky train gear… for a goofball at least.~
Turning her eyes back forward as Tsuji made his own introductions to the opposing school, Yumi parted her lips to greet herself to them too before halting as one of them burst forth and tried to lay on the charm, bringing a giggle from behind Yumi’s hand. Any other situation she may have playfully entertained the idea, but with a playful smirk and a side glance to Red, she turned her eyes back forward, wincing a little at the smack he got before replying with raised hands.
“Sorry hun, I’m not really doing the whole ‘long distance’ thing right now.~ Maybe next year~” She’d offer with a slight wink, still feeling a MASSIVE confidence boost in such affairs, but shooting a glance back to Red to make sure her slightly flirty decline of his advances didn’t make him uncomfortable.
With the comments on their gadgets and gear, Yumi gave a light chuckle and idly patted herself down, wearing her lightning rods today just incase and the rest of her hero costume on as normal. She was wearing the winter gear, not because of the weather itself, it was starting to warm up a little and her natural charge did generate a mild heat. She just didn’t wanna feel the high speed wins clashing against her skin as she took her position in all this, one she and the team had arranged beforehand that should be the best use of her skills here. “Well thank you for your admiration.~” She’d smile, pointing her thumbs out. One to Yojin and one to Red. “Most of it’s down to these two bozos.” She gestured solely to Red. “Prototypes.” Then to Yojin. “Final products.~”
The call for them to get ready came before she could offer the blondes any more praise (honestly she wasn’t even sure if Yojin SPECIFICALLY was the one who made her gear but he *was* the main gadget guy of the support classes so it felt like a safe assumption). Anyway, it was time to get ready. Yumi would rush off to the main platform the train for their team would be leaving from, using one of the middle cars at the back (or just the train’s roof if they didn’t have any additional carts) and climbing one of the service ladders to the roof. She didn’t wanna waste quirk energy where she didn’t have to, so adjusting her goggles into position, the technical visor springing to life, she got ready for the train to start chugging along, pressing two fingers to the earpiece the goggles had on the right side.
“Curved lightning in position gang.~”

[smear:#1979e6]".....Why the fuck does he have to be so bloody loud?"[/smear:#ff0000:1] Red would ask himself, Putting a hand to his forehead to try and shake off the headache he was having to endure. Again. You'd think it would have worn off at this point, but apparently pain meds in 2074 hadnt figured out how to properly get rid of one yet, so he was stuck dealing with it. Luckily it was the type that just spiked and then fucked off for a bit, but it was still annoying.....thank god he was gonna get to drive a train today to make up for it. Though he could have done without the bloody suspenders.
See, When he heard that this was gonna be an event, he'd rather excitedly remarked that he was gonna blow up a train to Yumi....completely as a joke, but with his luck it might have actually happened. He also may have joked about getting a uniform or something to pretend to be a real train driver or a conduter or something......listen, Red really liked trains, alright? They were wonderful pieces of engineering, how could he not?
Of course, that gave Yumi one hell of a bright idea. Before he could stop her, she'd dashed off to go make him another bloody outfit. He had no idea where she got everything in time, but before he knew it he was dressing up in a steampunk train mechanic outfit, with a half jacket, pretty loose tie to be honest and bloody suspenders, a couple extra belts and modified skates. He'd had to do that part himself once she was done but it didnt take that long.
Combine that with his usual goggles, the new.....arm brace thing he'd had to make for himself after the tournement on his left arm, his usual tech and tools.....as much as he felt awkward as fuck in it, he had to admit.....Yumi still did one hell of a job. He might have to start tinkerin in this outfit, it fit the part well. He'd have to show Kaz sometime when he...got back.....God fuckin....HEAD, STOP BEING A FUCKIN PRICK!
Anyway, while Red was shaking that off, they'd get told the rules of the race, which were pretty simple. 4 laps, finish before the other train, you get to fuck with each other, that was pretty much it. Of course there were common sense rules of "dont try and kill eachother" too, but it wasnt like anyone had to actually be told those, right? Oh, and apparently they had to talk to their opponents before they started. How nice. Hopefully, the others could do the talkin while him and Yojin fucked with the train.....but...eh....he had to be nice, didnt he.
Still, with a dumbass grin on his face, He'd take a look at that was unfortunatly stuck with him for this event. There was Yumi, who he was standing next too and would be one hell of powerhouse here, considering the trains were made of metal. Yojin was an even better fit for this, with him and Red on board they would probably give this train a better engine or something......maybe a rotary....with a twin turbo....that'd be cool.
Feng would be great too, consider her mobility would allow her to just hop between trains constantly. Momoko would be able to just hide on their train and keep fucking with things, like their braking mechanism or their pressure rate, and they wouldnt even be able to find her.....and Tsuji? He could just jump over there and keep em busy while she did that, and could outbox the fuckers while he was at it....or throw em off for not having a ticket.
With that outta the way, He'd turn his gaze over to their opponents and prepare himself for the awkward pleseantries he'd have to give em before they tried to run eachother over. Takin a look at em.....seemed a little strange, to be honest. Most of em were wearing their school uniform, but for some reason one guy was barefoot and had a huge sack over his shoulder......Red had a feeling it might be quirk related but he wasnt gonna assume anything......was pretty easy to see the other girl in just a shirt and pants was probably due to her quirk too.....Kinda reminded him of Mia, to be perfectly honest.
Speaking of her, she immeditaly tried to punch Tsuji in the gut. Red turned his head to the side like a confused puppy watching that interaction, since it was a tad unexpected. Still, it seemed to be more cause she was hype than any genuine malice according to Sack boy....who, apparently Tsuji knew from last year...or from somewhere. Didnt really matter, Red'd have to ask him about it once they were on the train....if they knew what the guys quirk was then he could plan around it....also reminded him a bit of Kir---Dude, just stop thinkin of that kinda stuff, alright? Maybe that'd fuckin help. Red'd hear in his brain as another jolt went through it.
"Eh.....That so, huh? What exactly you heard?" Red'd ask the lady who'd dragged another poor lookin bloke behind her, while rubbing his forehead a bit. Guy seemed like he was having about just as much fun as Red was right now, but he was atleast trying to be nice.....Kinda reminded Red of when he first met Yumi....and his first day at UA. "Yeah, nice to meet you too ma---" Red would try and greet, taking a hand outta his pocket to shake the guys hand.
Unfortunatly, instead of getting to shake the guys hand, another prick on the opposite team decided to bowl him over and start proposing to Yumi and Feng. Hand still outstretched, Red would just give the guy the deadest glare known to man. ".....all of my firsts, huh?...." Red'd mutter under his breath, starting to feel like wanting to punt this man into orbit. After all, he put his head in prime position to do that by taking a knee while he was pretending to be Shakespeare. Luckily, before he did anything, his own teammate gave him a whack to the head.....and with Yumi smirking at him, he knew he didnt have to be that worried.
"Ehhh.....You know a double date requires a second guy, right? So uhh....you'd be a bit outta luck mate, cause i aint helpin with that. Not in the mood. Doubt i will be next year either." Red'd sigh out, with really blank look on his face. Even he was smart enough to know that, shooting a quick wink at Yumi when she glanced back at him. He couldnt exactly blame the guy for trying, but boy did he fly too close to the sun on that one. God, Red was a lucky bastard, wasnt he.
"Eh, im usually the idiot around here....not that kind though, dont worry about it. You alright, Aiden?" He'd ask, but he was pretty sure that beyond having to actually speak he was alright. "Oh, really? You into gadgets too huh? What type you got, the quirk support kind or the general kind? Come on, lemme see!" Red's face would light up, upon hearing this guy compliment his gadgets. Apparently their team was also gadget based, which meant that not only did Red have to win.....but his "professional" pride was on the line. Actually....make that Robotics clubs pride was on the line.
"Well......lets just say you aint the only one whos prepared here, mate. Lets see whos Gadgets are better, how aboot that?" Red'd reply, accidentally slipping into a canadian accent and a cheeky as fuck grin, while he took Aidens hand and give him a firm handshake....the kind that wasnt a hand crusher, cause he wasnt an asshole like that bronze viking from last year. If he was a bit fired up before, then Aiden had just stoked it into a bloody inferno.
"....You havent got tickets in there for us, have ya? Or did we already need those?" He'd joke as Tsuji blew his whistle. He was really gettin into the part of a train condutor, it looked like. As for Red, He'd make his way to the front of the train, putting himself in the drivers Cabin....he was on defence after all, he had to make sure that their engine didnt get fucked with....plus, you know, he could tinker with it and shoot people from here, too.
"Oh come on, we really usin hero names? We aint on an internship here, are we?" Red'd joke over the comm, gettin his tools ready and helping Yojin with whatever he needed, checkin the gauges, tightenin a few things, just to make sure they were all good to get goin. After all, as much as he wanted to drive the train, he knew Yojin would probably be able to do it himself....and even if he didnt, every train needed a crew, right? Well, not a crew ready to stab any stowaways but...you know what he meant.
"By the way Tsuji, you knew that guy with the sack right? You know anythin about him we could use?" Red would ask, at some point before the race started.

It was finally time for the event! It was the most enticing one of the bunch. An all out race against the Canadian academy of quirk users. A battle that combines all of her favorite things into one and creates a recipe for high speed mayhem! She could absolutely jump for joy for the fact that she got the event she wanted. Her quirk is perfect and it was her area of specialty when it comes to situations like this. TRAIN CARS! FIRE! A TEAM FIGHT FOR THE AGES! It was the stuff of myth until the the opportunity was dropped onto her lap. Her gear was massively altered due to the heavy damage taken during the tourney. She wanted to go fancy but most of the clothing didn't fit her style and all that was available to her was a gi with various random accessories laying around. The outfit didn't look too bad but what sort of spare clothes could this country have that feel more out of place. But they were her size and they were comfy to wear, so it was a win for her. The team she got is a mostly fine. Tsuji was dressed in his train conductor outfit, the rumored gnome of the support classes Momoko, and the chaotic mechanic Yojin. All things considered, its a rag tag line up that can do some work with the team they're up against. Notable is that Tsuji is wearing a Japanese train conductor outfit and it was quite adorable all things considered. It did only a bit to raise her spirits she would make sure that her suit was on correctly. She can fight and move in it perfectly fine as is it were own hero suit. But Red and Yumi on the other hand.... things were quite rocky between them. Red being in the mix only complicates things as he was at the core of the issues. She can't lash out or anything because she made her points during their little talk. She doesn't now if things will get better or not...but only time will tell on that one. They were strong without any doubt and their help is going be vital if they all want to win this. But with recent events and relationship with Yumi being strained, she doesn't know how much she can keep quiet without something happening. Its only a matter of time before another outburst occurs and it was coming. The only thing she can do now is just calm down for now and focus on the targets at hand. She can only take so much in stride before she starts get agitated about the somewhat flirty opponent. The dude apprently can't read the room very well and her fists would clench as she held herself back from punching him in the jaw. She just wants to win this and she has to shove down as much of her rage as possible if she wants to achieve that. The others will cover her back but she was about ready to start beating down the opponent. " Piss off, you ain't my type. Bark up another fuckin tree, 狗!" he'd snap as she glared at him. Her eyes shining, her fists clenched, it was in sharp contrast to Yumis lighthearted tone. Red chimed in and she would check out as she made sure everything on her was there. As she'd adjust any part of her outfit as Fei chimed in, noting the oh so obvious flirting. " How are you holding up, little miss novela? You still feelin down and out?~", she sarcastically joked in her thoughts as she caught it. A faint burning feeling in her chest came back as she saw it." Piss off, Fei. Not in the mood", she closed her eyes to avert their gaze as she already knew what was going on. The feeling of her blood starting to boil was a common sensation as of late and seeing it before her eyes made it oh so worse. Jealousy? Envy? Annoyance? All of those feelings could be felt but she of course bottled it up and let it simmer. Every time, every single time and she cant do anything. Her display in the chat and her subsequent imprisonment only added fuel to the fire. " just rub it in why don't you...of all couples to be stuck with...", she muttered to herself as she exhaled slowly as the glow in her eyes began to fade again. Her feelings still lingered and the display ain't helping her mood. She distracted herself by just walking toward the train as the rage in her started to build up again. Not bothering with any other introductions to the other students. They were puzzled but they will remain in the dark until then. A part of her cared, another part is annoyed, this is a bridge she cannot destroy the bridge she built. But she is hesitant to say the least as she remembers the good. But remembering all the good times right now ain't good for the brain and all she needs to do is keep her mind focused on the battle. She knows her role and how she will work and the others will do their thing. " If you have the time to flirt. Then you have time to get ready, move it or lose it...", she snapped over comms as she got ready for the battle ahead. Of course everyone could have heard that but she didn't care as she sat on top the train alone as she rested her mind before the start of the battle. The pain started to subside as she began to calm down as tuned out all the noise and focused on the cool air around her. The outfit was also quite breathable, which helps her immensely for a times like this. She still doesn't know if its hatred or jealous driving her actions, but maybe it will serve as fuel for the train. " Lets just get this show on the road already..."

Man. Leave it to socialization to spoil a perfectly good competition. Yojin hadn’t done a cross-school event last year, so he was coming into this blind. He’d still been pretty hyped signing up for this one--it felt right up his alley; big machines, a non-combat objective, perfect for his quirk. The planning meeting had gone pretty well too--he felt like he had a decent team, even if he hadn’t explained his own plans as well as he should. But the moment the “enemies” started trying to talk to them, his confidence all went to shit.
“Yo.” Yojin replied in weak English to the chatter of greetings, stretching for the limits of what he’d picked up from Chimera. He swallowed, feeling nervous sweat bead under the practical tan jumpsuit he’d put on for this. Christ they were energetic. And loud. His face remained flat, but he felt deep sympathy for Aiden. The kid seemed to share his opinion of the chaos.
Yojin’s frown deepened as one of the girls tried to touch Momoko, stepping in protectively before he registered it was a handshake. Stupid. Like they were going to try anything violent. He was just overwhelmed by the horde of people, and reacting harshly.
He stepped back, letting out a deep breath, and letting the other UA kids handle the greetings. Yumi and Tsuji had a good handle on it--it was a little funny that Tsuji talked as eloquently as he did, but Yojin suspected that mutation quirkers tended to overcompensate--but Red stumbled, and Feng lashed out. Shit. Was she still raw over losing to Yumi?
Well, at least three of them had been polite enough.
He winced at Feng’s exit, shaking his head. This shouldn’t become a personal thing. The Canadian kids seemed more or less like UA kids. It was dangerous thinking of them sympathetically, because it made it harder to give the contest his all, but UA had a reputation to uphold.
What reputation? Flirty? Aloof? Angry?
Yojin tried to brush that thought away, holding out a fist to one of the Canadians--he decided last-minute on Aiden, since he was pretty confident the kid wasn’t going to try to break his hand or do anything weird--to bump.
“Give it your best.” Yojin muttered, the closest translation of the Japanese phrase he could reach for. God, his English sucked. But it was polite to try. “See you.”
Before anyone could distract him more, or he could think himself into a rabbit hole, he turned, heading toward the train himself, catching up with the others (except Feng, who went ahead, which was probably for the best.)
“...Nice kids. Good chat. Looking forward to seeing their gear.” He said, still mumbling and sounding distracted. He meant it, though. He always liked seeing new quirks in action, and he’d only gotten secondhand descriptions from the last tournament. He’d still prepared for the Canadian’s quirks as well as he could, but preparations never worked out precisely the way they were meant to. “I’m gonna be in cab. Like we discussed. Moment we start, gonna start losing some of this extra weight. Watch out for the oni girl. I think she likes Tsuji.”
Yojin swallowed, glancing ahead of him at Feng.
Speaking of things to watch out for…
Well, he wasn’t about to try to play therapist mid-contest. Feng was one of the most accomplished hero students in UA. She’d find a way to keep her head on straight. He’d just never seen this side of her before. She’d always been so private and focused on her own improvement.
Was it just losing?
Yojin snorted to himself, kneeling down as he reached the engine room, and opening his bag, starting to sort through tools and weapons. When he'd checked them all, he let out a deep sigh, then slid into his field helmet. It was show time. A flicker of his quirk turned on his radio.
"Yojin ready. Over."

Post by Mozuku Momoko on Mar 6, 2020 18:30:01 GMT -4
Frankly, Momoko had just been glad about being able to even consider other events aside from rescue. It wasn't something that she was cut out for in her opinion, even with the tools she had managed to create during this past year. But even aside from that aspect, this year's was setting up to be fun! It seemed like it'd be easy for her to approach and, as it turned out, there were two other club members on their team. Momoko was admittedly still finding her bearings in the position of a club leader that she now found herself in, but it was obvious that this would be the best publicity they'd get out of this event. A great victory could open a lot of new opportunities! And the chances for that were looking good as well! Out of the club members, Yojin was without a doubt the best engineer in the school and Reddarc... well Reddarc seemed good at wrecking stuff, so he'd probably do just fine on this one! Then there was Tsuji, who Momoko had already worked with in the past and fought against him in the tournament, so she had a good idea of his strength. The other two girls she wasn't too familiar with, other than the fact that they were on the hero course and by the sound of things pretty strong. The redhead with the electricity quirk in particular seemed like they could be very useful in this. Momoko had arrived in the version of her hero outfit that had debuted at this festival, with its auburn cloak and a white mask. She had also modified some of her gear with this event in mind and was carrying a heavier loadout as a result, although not by much. She was keeping her cloak as closed as possible out of paranoia, but in spite of this you could see the outline of the battery pack that was attached to the back of her suit, beneath the cloak. It didn't bulge out enough to give the impression of a hunchback or anything like that, but you could definitely tell that there was something there. Momoko didn't manage to find a way to make it smaller without sacrificing its much needed power reserves that'd be used for the equipment. The small girl was familiar with some of the members from the opposing team as well. Aiden had been part of the same rescue event last year, although on a different team and in a different location so she hadn't seem him properly in action. Initially she thought that he'd be the only familiar face, but sure enough, she managed to recognize Aria Reid as one of the people who had visited her stall in last year's science fair. Momoko only remembered her due to the dismissive attitude she had given back then to her fabric showcase. What better time for a payback than now? However, it was neither of these people who ended up approaching Momoko, but rather it was Mia Wilson. Her own English could use some improving, but she had understood what the Canadian had said. She most likely would have understood even if she hadn't. It was the most common response from people who met her for the first time. Momoko was more than ready to return the favor with her own run-of-the-mill response to this... ...but this was thrown off by Yojin's response. This one was also familiar one, but on a much different level. However, the brief moment that Momoko was gazing confusedly up at the blonde boy was quickly converted back to Mia and the automated response. "...ahaha! It's fine! I'm Mozuko Momoko, nice to meet you!"The small girl would shake one of the fingers of the outstretched palm, beaming a smile back at the Canadian. She wouldn't engage further, but rather fell back to rest of her own group before they all started to move towards their respective trains. Momoko did feel miffed about not being approached due to neither gadgetry nor flirting, which is probably why her parting words (spoken with a noticeable accent, like all of her English) took on the form that they did. "Oi, Canada! The Robo Club cannot be beaten! Good luck!"
Momoko did also offer a small kick at Yojin's shoe as he joined the group. "It's good to see that you're taking the vice-presidential duties so seriously!" The cheery part was followed up by a calmer one, the part that she didn't want the rest of the group to hear. "...but don't do that, please. You're not my mother."Momoko would ultimately situate herself towards the end of their train. She was on the inside for now despite being part of their attacking team as her time to act wasn't until after the others got going. She'd be going over her equipment and doing some final checks on one of the seats. She had put her mask on by this point, so she had heard the other confirmations as she did so. As she finished, she checked in herself. "All clear. Shrike's ready for action! Over~"

Carter of course immediately recognized the bear once he spoke up. "Hehe, That's what I thought! Me too!" It would have been silly to think othervise. And honestly, he was relieved that his classmate wasn't taken the wrong way. "I will say though, you ain't gonna wrestling HER down! The girl has a real tendency to stick to ya, if you know what I mean, hehe!" "LESS TALK MORE GO!" Riley was already climbing up onto the passenger carts roof, As Carter proceeded to visibly shrug. "Can't be more thankful about all these smart lads with me though! Who knows if I would have been able to operate if they hadn't told me how to do..." "COME OOOOON!" "Sorry, Nature calls!" Carter was clearly feeling better already, chuckling as he himself climbed on the top of the train engine.
Meanwhile, Grayson on the ground gave an awkward smirk and wink towards both of his targets. "Ah, tough crowd... but keep me in mind! I am always free!" Arias soul piercing glare followed. "...AFTER the event, of course!" As he stood back up, he took a funky look at red, sizing him up and glancing towards both of the girls, before lifting his finger guns and pointing at him. "Oooooooh, I get it!" He backed away nodding in agreement, before climbing into the passenger cart. "Quit easy you did! WHY!?" Grayson scratched his chin. "Come on, a bit of chivalry doesn't hurt! They are taken women clearly!" Common sense that one. Although they might have heard it...
Mia proceeded to flinch, as Yojin dove towards the duo making nice chat. "ITS JUST A HANDSHAKE! SEE!?" The girl proceeded to wave her arms in front of her in an embarrassed fashion, As she backed away on top of the train... "Man, it's hard to even greet foreigners, when they are so protective..." She knocked herself on the head. "Though that might mean that Aiden was exactly right." She blinked and smiled while observing him.
Finally, Aiden himself nodded. "It's going to be an honor... seeing if your mechanical skills are gonna best us." However, Reds words made him chuckle. "W-well I am more in the uuuh... Planning department! I plan things! Others make them! But I am really good at that!" "He can build, he trusts the others with their specialities more. That's what he means." Aria clearly was used to this sort of panicky talking. However, with that, the brief mingling period was clearly over. And as Aria helped Aiden onto the train, he took a deep breath...
And the countdown started. "Alright! Time for check-up! Plan CD still doable?" Carter opened the sack, strapping the rope keeping it closed so that it wouldn't fall, as he stood up on the coal cart on the back of the train engine. small clumps of dirt, rock and sand were falling from the sack. "VERY doable! As you planned!" "Ready too!" Gray had climbed up on the passenger cart as well. It was the most open position after all. "Plan AB, is still inconclusive, but I think I have enough proof to say that it's gonna work with 98% chance of success!" "You can count on it!" Aiden proceeded to clap his hands together. "Admittedly, plan EF is gonna probably be the riskiest one, but, try your best!" "WE CAN DO IT GUYS!"
"Now... TO POSITIONS!" Every single member threw their coat off, revealing their own personalized gear... Aidens arms and legs glimmered in clear metallic tones, Aria had quite heavy looking medieval armour, Grayson pulled up a facemask covering his mouth, Carter revealed his humongous pecs and toned muscles, Mia showed off her skintight armour, and Riley proceeded to try to take off her shirt... Only for Mia to pull it back down. "Nononono, this is gonna be on tv... You'll raise the age rating!" "Screw the tv! SHIRT IN WAY!"
"Three, two, one! CHAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!" CHOOOOOOOOCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
With that, the trains started immediately chugging out black smoke, slowly raising in speed, until reaching a comfortable pace of about 60 kilometers in an hour! The surroundings were running by at a quick pace, blurring it, only showing minor details... for now, the surroundings were a flat plain, with a hill in the distance. A calm start for the long journey that was only starting. The trains were chugging 10 meters apart from each other for now, but it seemed like the rails in the distance would be splitting apart for the hill itself. With neithers speed yet impeded, they were pretty much equal in speed. Although, that was definitely not gonna be the situation for long.
"Grayson!" "ON IT!" And on command, Grayson proceeded to blow a wide black flame to sweep across the top of U.A:s passenger cart! The flames however clearly weren't hot, but breathing it in, but breathing the smoke produced by them would lead into insane nausea, and gagging. "The groups heated! So time for-" "ME!" With the smoke from the flames slowly dissipating the top of the train, Riley proceeded to seemingly run and hop a long way across the gap between the trains! For a moment, it looked like she wouldn't make it, until she seemingly double jumped from the side of the train And flew towards Feng with a furious impression, Spinning in the air like a giant spiky ball trying to tackle her off the train! "RUDE GIRL OUT FIRST!"
Meanwhile on Chevaliers train, Carter was seemingly gathering up the coal around his arm with his quirk, having covered it first with dirt... The rest of the team was observing. "Strong start I would say!" "Wait for the counter attack first before you say that... They aren't talked about a lot for no reason." "I am ready!" Initiative in a fight was an important thing for success, But Aiden was seemingly making sure they could follow up on it...

Things were finally getting underway. As Tsuji entered the passenger cart, it seemed rather nice, a bit lavish even, but that was to be expected of what was essentially a high-class school. Although he knew from Red that not all such people were polite – that wouldn't stop him from being friends with them, though. Speaking of which, as he got on, and while the bear adjusted his communication link, Red asked about Carter. “Oh, Carter? Well, last year, me and him had a contest to cut down trees. We both used axes, but he made them from a boulder he pretty much fished right out of the ground – so I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the ground around him, shaping it and stuff. He was barefoot then, too, so I'm sure he needs to stand on earth to use it... perhaps something in the sack is for him...” he said, detailing pretty much what he could gleam from guesswork and his experiences. However, now was not the time to go to into things. While Red headed over to his position, the train began to move, with a hearty yell from the announcer. It didn't take the trains back home this long to get going, that was for sure. But, after a short while, surprisingly short, the trains did get pretty quick. Out of the window, Tsuji saw the rushes of grassy fields and trees, a staple of the English landscape. It was beautiful – but not the focus of today's challenge. Steeling himself, he said “Tsuji here, I'm heading up top now that we're moving, over.” The comms were pretty useful, and would remain that way for the rest of the event. Hopefully. With his message sent, he began to make his move. The plucky bear got to the back of the cart he was on, and after a jump and a small clamber up, he reached the top of the passenger cart, where Feng was. The amount of wind blasting by was pretty ridiculous, but his... figure, would help in keeping on top. Not enough to dent the cart or anything, he wasn't that heavy. What was very interesting though, was that while the plan was for him to head across to the other side, that may be have become a bit difficult. There was a fair amount of smoke, either from the steam of burning coal, or it was from the Canadian team. Probably the latter, in all honesty. As Tsuji got on top, it was dissipating, but that left one other problem: They stole his idea! Well, perhaps not wholly his idea, but the idea to jump over to their side was taken almost right away! The green oni girl, Riley, was attempting to get across. Not all the way over, Tsuji decided to intervene. “FENG! Change of plan: You go over to their side, I'll deal with her!” he shouted across the top. Running as fast as he could, he planned to intercept the attack, trying to land a blow on Riley, getting her out of the way so Feng could leap across. “Yo, you wanted to find out what I'm made of? Then let's go, you Yappy Yokai!” he would say, in the heat of the moment. Quickly scrambling to apologise, though he would continue: “Oh, um, sorry, I didn't mean to insult you or anything. I tend to get overexcited in a fight. Now, with that out of the way...” Tsuji then leapt into a stance, holding his left arm to his chest, his right in a claw form by his head, and spreading his legs out, left foot first. “...Third Count: Fire Wolf!”

Post by Yumi Tasukai on Mar 10, 2020 8:04:12 GMT -4
Yumi groaned and rolled her eyes at both Red and Feng's comments. More so the latter. She knew Red wasn't a fan of the whole 'branding' thing heroes did, what with secret identities not really being a thing for pro heroes and instead the names more just meant to be iconic ways to refer to them. Feng on the other hand saying they were flirting just... ugh. She didn't need that. Whatever. No reason to let it get her down. As the train started up, Yumi's charge took over her, a blue coating of electricity, with her usual live-wire pony tail flickering left and right in the air behind her.
"Alright, hero names or not we're all in position. Let's handle this best we can."
Pressing her hands to the roof of the car she was standing on, the heroine's electro magnetic forces practically glued her to the train as it started to gain speed, looking across to the other train and the space ahead of them, taking a slow breath as she tried to consider how to tackle this. Their team and her own would already be exhanging passangers in efforts to slow the other one down, but Yumi's job was to balance her time focusing between the two. As arguably the team's strongest asset she needed to make sure she used herself well, and in this first moment, seeing the hill that would soon seperate them, she decided to break from the pack as soon as she could and get into a better position.
"We got a hill coming up! I won't do us much good with the other train if i gotta waste time getting across it! I'll break ahead while the trains are still slow!"
her callout made, Yumi pushed hard off the roof of the train, a burst of sparks shooting her into the air, before shooting an electrical trail ahead of herself, rapidly chasing it like she was darting down a wire, a zig-zag pattern of electrical pulses firing off behind her as she burst ahead of both trains at max speed.
Before long, and far before the trains could even get close to catching up, Yumi would be atop the hill that would soon seperate them. Drawing a lightning rod gadget from her belt she looked to the opposing train, a hefty charge flowing through the metal rod and bringing a smirk to Yumi's face as she got a strong idea.
"Okay guys, i advise staying out of the enemies engine car for the time being. I got a plan..."
Tossing the rod into the air once she'd fully charged the device, she caught it in her electrical field, before launching it directing towards the enemies tracks, a fair distance ahead of the train itself. They'd probably noticed she'd flown ahead of them and would be watching for anything she was doing, so she did her best to make it look like she was trying to destroy their train tracks, firing the lightning rod with a full power blast behind it. of course, it would do nothing to the tracks, but it should do well to hide the rod that was now embedded in the dirt under the train's tracks.
When the train's engine car finally passed over the tracks... Yumi would activate the rod using a function of her goggles. The charge it was holding would unleash, bursting through the bottom of the engine car and filling the whole section of the train with an electrical shock.

"....Eh?" Red would ask to....pretty much no one, just generally voicing his confusion at the brown haired prick who'd given up pretty quickly, all things considered......The guy had given him a pretty funny look beforehand though, pointing finger guns at him like he knew something Red didnt. Whatever his assumptions were, Red didnt really need to think about em right now, he'd get to do that afterwards.....and maybe pay him back for trying his luck during the race. Still felt like punting him, after all. Still, he had other, more pressing matters to attend to. That being one pissed off Red head....Not the usual one, and she wasnt even pissed at him......atleast as far as he was aware........it was a very weird situation, in all honestly.
"...Hey uhhh...Hey Feng, you alright?" Red'd ask, putting a hand on her shoulder as he did. He didnt really have an idea on what was wrong, but he had a feeling it had to do with her losing her match against Yumi in the tourney....since apparently she'd decided to go on a depressive outburst in UA chat afterwards....He'd tried to go check on her but Haruto and Yojin had both waved him off at the time......He still didnt know how he felt about that but....least he might be able to do something about it now?
"Listen, whatever it is thats been botherin you, would you be able to stow it away for a little bit? Least till this event is over....think of it as a favour for me, alright?" He'd ask her, with a smile and a thumbs up. "Besides.....you can beat him up once we start, use that anger or somethin on him but just uhh...dont go too wild, okay? They could use that against ya and stuff....Not that im that worried about ya, i know you can handle yourself just fine." He'd follow up....he just wanted to make sure he wasnt gonna have to play psych during a bloody race. He was probably the least qualified man here to be doing that.
"Ah, so you're the guy im gonna have be watchin out for then." Red'd chuckle out, sort of reminded of himself a few months back, not knowing how to talk when he first showed up at UA. It just went to show how a year of a....well, UA life wasnt exactly normal, but how it'd helped him with actually speaking to people.....not that he was saying he'd gotten good at it since...you know, still had a tendancy to stutter at points and stuff. "Seriously though, i'll see ya on there....lets see how well your plans hold up, eh?" He'd joke, before heading off to the train.
"Earth stuff, needs to be barefoot, probably some like, dirt or whatever he actually manipulates in the sack, got it. You hear that, everyone?" Red'd ask over the comm, relaying what Tsuji had said to everyone. It wasnt much, but atleast they had one of their opponents quirks somewhat down, so they could plan around that.....Looking at the train, Red got a decent idea on what he might be doing but....only time would tell if his hypothesis was correct here......speaking of hypothesis.....
"....OH SHIT, I FORGOT SOMETHIN, I'LL BE RIGHT BACK." Red'd exclaim to himself, hopefully out of earshot of the canadians due to all the prep work that was going into getting the trains running.....but luckily, thanks to his speed, he wouldnt be gone long. He didnt even have to go far either, just a couple minutes away to pick up something akin to a skate board...except without wheels, and some rope he'd left leaning against a wall during the speech....cause he felt like talking while holding it would have been considered rude or something.
"...Huh? What do you mean flirting?" Red'd ask again, as he came back, not getting what Feng was implying. He was just making a joke right? Or...was he coming off as flirty nowadays cause of....certain recent developments in his life?....Nah, that couldnt be it.....he just hoped that Feng took what he'd said into account and was just....getting the last of it out beforehand or something. That'd be nice.
Either way, now that the finishing touches of both his and Yojins prep was done, the trains would start to roll off. It was a slow start, while the trains started to build up steam pressure in their engines, but eventually they'd get up to a pretty decent speed.....Red could have gone faster himself, but it wasnt a quirk race, after all. "Alright, if we're all ready, then lets kick their arses!" Red'd shout. channelling his inner deliquent for a second....and then the attacks started coming in.
Red himself was in the train car with Yojin, helpin him set up for his plans, stowing the board safe close by.....and keeping an eye out. After all, he'd put himself on defence detail. Why? it was very simple....His quirk was perfect for it. All he had to do was stick his head out the window and he could generate as much wind as he could ever possibly want, even without his gear....plus, someone had to make sure their train didnt get fucked with, and as Much as Red trusted Yojin to handle the mechanical side of things.....he wasnt sure how well the guy would do without his mecha.
Anyway, this put him in pretty prime position to see what was happening around them. First off, Lover Boy had decided to spew black fire all over, aiming for their passanger car which......well, that wouldnt do the rest of the team any good. So, on reflex, he'd generate a wind projectile and fire it from his arm, hopefully dispersing as much as the flame as he could......he didnt know how much damage the fire would do, but from how black the smoke looked.....it'd probably cause a world of hurt.
"Dont worry about the smoke, i can take care of it from here.....Wait, shit, Oni on the way!" He'd call over the comm, but by the time he did she was already attacking someone on the top....he wasnt sure who it was. As for the third thing he noticed....well, it'd be pretty hard to miss a guy with muscles like that gathering coal all over his arms.
"....Make that smoke AND coal i gotta take care of, looks like you were right Tsuji!" Red'd call out over the comm again, firing another projectile directly at the guy. He was hoping he'd knock the coal or atleast some of the dirt off with his wind, but he didnt know how effective that'd be based on his limited knowledge.....or if anyone on the other side would be able to counter it somehow. "Yeah, Go ahead Yumi, but be fuckin careful up there! Relay anything back you think would be useful!" Red'd ask over the comm as Yumi charged off on her own....god he hoped she'd be alright.
"Alright, Black Fire with a shitload of smoke, Oni moving like Mia, And Earth manipulation Plus coal, thats the quirks we got so far. Try and find out what the rest are, i'll try and come up with something!" Red'd relay everything.....realising that this was info they all A) probably already knew and B) that he was kind of imposing himself as bloody leader right now........Well, as long as no one had a problem with it, he'd keep doing it. Plus, he could try countering their stuff himself.....he had his quirk barrels, after all, so he could hail a shitload of fire over at em if he wanted.

“Mhmm...”
Feng of course responds with silence as Red asked her the question. She was not in any shape of form to try and lie, a lot of it was emotionally draining. The only response she can give is a thumbs up as it the most she can do. It was understandable with the concern due to the depressive outburst she did in the UA chat. None of them actually know aside from like three people involved. She didn't want to dwell on it as it was going to cause more trouble than it's worth bringing it up right now. At best, she is going to keep her banter to a minimum so she doesn't explode mid-race. The least she can do to fulfill this sort of ‘favor’ to Red. His words were nice…. Well let's just focus on the race at hand.
She made her way to the roof to the train, listening to music to drown out the bad vibes she was feeling all over. “What's the matter? too scared to respond?”,Fei chimed into her mind. “Not now, I just need time to breathe.” Feng internally responded back. “Couldn't you have picked a better time for that rather than an important race.”, she responded back as Feng made herself comfortable on the roof of the car. “Nah, punching a few dozen people is good stress relief after the week we had here. It makes things quicker..”,Feng stared out at the road ahead.”...And you wonder why you’re still single?”, another witty reply. “Shut up and ready up”.
Initial impressions of the enemy team seem to be similar to our side in terms of banter. Though a bit more annoying with the line up they have. Obvious quirks are minimal but the others seem to know who they were. Going to be fun to kick them in the face and try some new tricks on them.
It was then she heard someone running to her before the race even started and lo and behold it was Red. All she could do is stare at him for a moment as formulated a proper response. Which can be summed up with, “Uh...nothing. The race is starting and you should get going, Mr. Conductor”, she responded as best she could without giving away any intentions. Most of the details can be learned after all of this is over but...it's going to take some time for sure. As he went off, Fei chimed in yet again. “Soooo that was your best way to respond?”, with a joking tone. Feng stayed silent as she took the L on that.
The train began to chug along and with it was an exhilarating feeling of freedom as the window began to blow through her hair. Her goggles were on, the gloves were on and her legs were ready. The black smoke from the train wasn’t that cumbersome to ruin her rooftop surfing as she kept her eyes on the enemy train as it moved along. Feng’s eyes glowed to see more of the enemy's action and was so fixated as the battle already began.
A blast of black smoke swept across the top of the train. She noticed some shots of wind attempting to mitigate the damage which can only be Red’s doing. Feng held her breath as it dissipated but it was a troublesome smoke screen to deal with. In the time in which she was distracted by one of the enemy team, the Oni looking girl cleared the jump between the trains and beeline towards her. Huge rolling ball of spikes is what she can see and it was going to hurt if she let it hit her. The radio noise were going off like crazy as the battle had officially begun. “Dammi-”, she belts out as she gets into a battle stance. But then Tsuji came in with the save as he tanked the hit for her. He’d yell something about a change of plans and she should go on ahead. “Gotcha, I’ll leave this to you!”, she’d respond quickly to Tsuji as she got into a jumping stance. Her eyes glowed brighter as she got a lock on the enemy and saw that there was a hill coming up, if she doesn't jump now she is going to lose her chance.
“Gonna make the jump and take care of the smoker!”, she said over radio as she exhaled and made a running start towards the edge of the train.
5th Form : Spring Festival!
She jumped a tremendous distance between the trains like it was nothing. Activating her quirk to correct her trajectory and build up speed as she sets her sights on the train.”Easy as pie...”, she mutters to herself as it was little effort to be done with clearing a distance like that. As she landed she set her sights on the individual on the coal cart. Dog boy seems to be the cause and he is going to get a taste of some pain for what his attitude.
But it seems like she wasn't the only one with the idea as Yumi was one who went first to go on the offensive. No clue on what she was doing but she made it a priority to not get in her way as she did her own thing.
Her eyes shined, her aim was set and she set one of her legs aflame. “Let's do some damage, Fei!-Like you needed to tell me”, she said as she got ready as she went running towards the coal cart. Once she got into range where she can feel like it's safe. Quickly changing stances mid sprint as she readied her ignited leg for a storm.
[smear:#bd1f19]7th Form- Bloody Blade Dance![/smear:#12882e:0]
In a flash, a blur of kicks gave way to a volley of red hot projectiles. Fireballs and slashes became a hailstorm of red hot punishment. This was only the prelude as she had more tricks ready when these attacks land.
“LESS WORDS MORE ACTION!”, she’d respond over comms radio noise and was starting to get annoyed.

自由自在 all those support classes well-used
Yojin winced at Momoko’s rebuke, already embarrassed at his mistake before she’d pointed it out.
“Yeah. Sorry.” He mumbled, leaving his tools spread over a corner of the floor in the engine room for each access. He placed his hand on the engine, looking back at the little woman. She probably felt like he was being condescending. And. Well. He had been. “Just trying to make sure I’m the only one allowed to defeat you, prez.”
Yojin grinned sheepishly, hopefully still conveying a sincere apology along the way, then looked back at the engine, trying to focus on the job. A moment later, he glanced back at Momoko out of the corner of his eye, still worried he’d fucked it up.
Stupid conversations.
Speaking of...Red was trying to calm Feng down, which…
Well, Yojin wanted to be grateful to the other boy for taking the leap, and reaching out a hand, but from the vibe he’d got helping Haruto in the infirmary, he suspected it wasn’t gonna work out that well. Granted, Yojin’s own people skills were a rusted wrench. All his finely-honed intuition was the result of half-a-year of lessons with Tsutsuji-senpai and Mosa-san, and it was far, far too late to suggest mental health leave for Feng.
When they were done talking, Yojin raised a hand to Red, making a “careful” grimace, and jerking a nod at Feng, rocking his hand back and forth as though to indicate a dangerous ledge, or perhaps a bomb that might detonate if jostled.
And with that, he forced himself to get his head in out of other people’s business, and back in the game.
Coal-burners were ancient tech, and Yojin had no firsthand knowledge of working with them. The principle was the same--chemical reaction to create heat, make gasses expand, gasses push pistons, pistons make machine move. Coal was finicky though--rather than a series of explosions like Diesel or Gas, it was a slow, constant burn to create pressure, meaning the faster you ran the engine, the closer it would get to violently escaping. Or rather, exploding.
Yojin chuckled to himself, reaching out with his quirk as the engine chugged to life, closing his eyes and feeling the machine.
Always fun to have a risk of explosion afoot.
The crackle of the radios, and the attack of the Chevalier students interrupted his study, and Yojin drew back, sighing, putting his hand on the back of his taser-gun. He was pleased to hear Tsuji leap into battle above him--he’d privately wanted to have the mutant as a guard, but hadn’t cared enough to argue in the strategy meeting.
Yeah. Tsuji on the defense, Yumi and Feng on the attack, Red trying to run ranged interference. This was looking pretty solid. And he hadn’t been attacked directly yet.
Start simple. Get to know the engine better. Wait for the enemy to commit.
“Copy. Going to be increasing speed.” Yojin muttered into his radio, taking his hand off his weapon, and picking up his cutting torch. He stepped toward the passenger car, letting out a groan as he saw the smoke filling it. “Moving to passenger car. If you see bits of the train falling off, it's cool. I'm engineering. Over.”
Originally, he’d wanted to to cut off the car entirely, but since they were doing four laps, that just meant they’d end up ramming into the car when they made a full rotation. That part had to wait until later in the race. However, the principle remained sound--
If you wanted more speed, reduce weight. Simple newtonian physics, no specialized knowledge of old engines required. Yojin took a deep breath, then stepped into the smoke, using the flashlight from his helmet and the light of his torch to guide his way. He could barely see in front of him, but he didn’t need to move fast--and he was hidden from the enemy in by their own cloud.
He worked with practiced efficiency. Touch a chair, use his quirk to pop out the bolts and nuts. Cut any metal ties. Lift, and toss it out the window, letting it fall alongside the tracks. It didn’t matter what he broke--the less weight, the better.
The biggest problem was the smoke eating at his lungs--his filter wasn’t up for it. He had to step out soon. He couldn’t do this for long.
"Smoke is nasty." Yojin coughed, feeling his eyes watering. "Like tear gas. Over."

As silly as it was, Yojin's apology did get through. She did know that he saw her as more than just a small person to be protected, it was just something that got to her easily. Maybe even more easily because she knew that. Still... Momoko brushed aside her sullen mood, and responded with a smile. "Ha! In your dreams, VP-kun!" The trains started to move, and Momoko would get to work. She hopped on the edge of passenger car's window on the "safe" side, the one that wasn't facing the opposing team's train. "Getting into position. Over!"She hooked her other grappling hook onto the edge and jumped off, facing the passenger car. As she did, she activated the temporary addition to her suit's front: an electromagnet. She became firmly attached to the passenger car's side with a small metallic clink, keeping her safe from the winds that would have otherwise jostled her around as the train started to acquire speed. She'd further adjust the strength so that she could actually move, and continued her journey down to the very bottom of the car. It was a roundabout way of setting herself up, but it would give less of an idea as to where Momoko would be. Having finally reached the bottom, she turned off the magnet and flipped over to the underside, starting to jungle gym her way through the various parts to the opposing side. She was mostly relying on the comms to get a read on the situation as she made her way across the bottom, as good as she could hear from amidst the clanging of the machinery. Yojin got ready to do his magic, and the attack from the opposition had already begun. Momoko's own position was low enough to not be affected by the smoke, but it did sound troublesome. Callouts of their own train being invaded reached her as she made it to the other edge herself, where she took a moment to assess the situation and, more importantly, wait for one of her own teammates to try to cross over. Momoko knew the maximum length of her wires and this looked... really close to that. It was obviously hard to tell with all the movement and all, but that was the gut reaction she got. She wouldn't have wanted to waste resources this early on, but... ...as Feng's voice over the comms informed that she was about to cross over, Momoko couldn't stay put either. "...can't be helped then!"The small girl adjusted herself against one of the metal rods that helped to keep the car's structures together until her feet finally got into a firm position. "Crossing over!"Momoko let go of everything and jumped forward, activating her bracelets as she did. She made it a few meters forward before shooting out both of the wires on her wrists, just in case, at the side frame of the passenger car's back bogie. As they'd both wrap securely around it Momoko started to reel herself in, continuing the burst of speed going up until she made it over. She let out a small sigh of relief as she started to adjust herself again. Yumi's warning unfortunately meant that Momoko herself wasn't allowed to make her way to the actual engine, which was a bummer. That's where all the fun stuff was. But she didn't want to get in the way of whatever they were planning, so she set her sights onto the best thing in her reach from just the passenger car: the axleboxes. Momoko wasn't an expert on steam locomotives either, but she had tried to do some reading before this event. And it turns out that there was a pretty problem with how they worked called "hot box": if a box that was keeping the axles oiled had a leak, the friction could eventually cause this part to catch fire and melt, possibly spreading to the rest of the car with it. Or if not friction, some other flame source that made its way to it. She had considered bringing a flamethrower-esque attachment for this, but she likely wouldn't have had the gas to spare. "Shrike is in position. Starting to work on their axles. Over!"Momoko was positioned next to one of the axleboxes already. As she hung on the bogie's side frame with one wire, she switched the end of her other piece of gear with her free one. The harpoon end was switched into a wrist-mounted drill. She gave it a quick whirl to check if it functioned before edging her way closer. "Nyeh. Nyeh..."She searched for a good spot, in an angle that wouldn't cause her to burst in flames should her drilling itself accidentally set off the oil, and attempted to drill. She'd let the drill do its work, but would also use her own strength to calmly keep pushing it in to help it along. Should she be successful in causing a leak in that one, she would start moving over that back bogey and repeat the process for the other three axleboxes.

The people who jumped made it over the treacherous gap successfully for now, but the trains started clearly picking up speed! the chairs chucked out by Yojin proceeded to tumble away, leaving them behind, and allowing the train to accelerate tiny bit faster, gaining momentum and reaching the hill itself first!
On top of the train, the oni had gotten suddenly ambushed, as he had done her second jump, as she had taken the full brunt of the bears punch. "GAOUL!" However, the bear during his apologies would soon realize, that the oni hadn't been knocked back at all, but instead had grabbed him by the furry arm, gripping it like a furious gremlin. A huge bruise however was growing on her side, as she locked her eyes onto him, gleaming in colors that could only describe annoyance and anger. "Nice Beastie STAYS AWAY!" With that, riley grabbed Tsuji by the elbow and hand, as he would be hurled over her shoulder, flung across the passenger car. "NO!" With her original target out of her way however, Her target turned to be the bear still. "STUPID HAIRY MUTTSNOUT! THIS WAS NOT PART OF THE PLAN!" The girl proceeded to run towards tsuji, jump and smash her legs together to try and stomp him! "BUT REVENGE I CAN SERVE!" This attack would surely smash her and his target through the roof down into the passenger car if it hit...
"Hehehe, there are as many ways to counter flame based quirks as there are flame quirks themselves." Grayson mused, taking a breather. "BUT THE FLAMING PASSION OF LOVE WILL NEVER FALT-" As he was about to breathe another breath out, Feng had jumped on to the train. "I-INVADERS ON THE TRAIN!" With that shout, everybody on the train snapped to attention. That and the lightning streak from Yumi caught Aiden's attention, whilst Feng fired off her attack towards Carter. "WHOA!" Carter was hit by couple of kicks, before lifting up a man sized arm made out of coal in front of himself, as the kick barrage cracked some of the rocks and lit them aflame!
Carter was sweating bullets... now he had his original plan to do AND the fiery arm to keep away from the fuel! "Little help here?! With the command, Aria proceeded to rush forward much quicker than expected, with aiden almost seemingly throwing her towards Feng to tackle her into the heated coal arm! "TIME FOR PLAN AB!" "YES!" with the command, Aria proceeded to throw her shoulderpads into the air... before chomping them down into her guts with one huge crunch. For a second, she breathed out steam, and then as quickly, she spat out 6 metallic knives, that Aiden proceeded to immediately grab with his magnetism, as they proceeded to circle around him like a sharpened barrier.
"Masterworks Bladestorm!"
"Okay, Okay, let's try this again... Hope this works even with them already on fire!" With one huge motion, Carter proceeded to move the coals on his arms towards the train engines insides. He was clearly trying to fill the engine with huge amount of them. However at this point, there came a loud BOOM! just like thunder, which made the whole engine shake roughly, with sparks flying around it! "GAH!" The arm slammed against the coal cart, separating it, and thus, the burning coals tumbled under the train itself. However, the train engine itself, aside from a big patch of dirt on it's underside, seemed to be perfectly fine even after this humongous surprise attack. "S-Sorry guys! I will try again!" Aiden lifted the daggers up, as he proceeded to swing them towards feng, like a single continuous fan, almost like trying to keep her away. "GRAYSON! keep an eye out for Yumi, and prepare for plan CD!" "Roger!" Luckily, with the hill in-between the trains now, They could pretty much just sit around and prepare for her! That... and plan EF had apparently worked like a charm! So, Grayson started keeping look out as always, his eyes bouncing between the sky and Feng, seeing if either of them were going to be doing something.
Meanwhile, under the train, Momoko would be successful in removing one of the tires. One more would be needed for a noticeable effect, but it was good progress made. However, she would have her own troubles, as the flaming hot coals dropped by Carter proceeded to roll towards her, hurled by the other tires, and the sparks from them flying around its underbelly. The heat was quite harsh to say the least.
But the sparks weren't a problem just on that side. Suddenly, Sparks started flying with a loud screech from under the train of U.A students as well! It was almost like somebody had struck the breaks! But who? The speed of the train was dropping, and the door to the trains engine was a little bit ajar... Yet, in the distance, after the hill, the train tracks would be taking a quick shift through the river, gliding over it and passing the finish line for the first time... after which an interesting cliffside could be seen in the distance, hidden a little bit by steam...
