you're in the city of light And so the walls where the colors once played Were replaced by the buff, now a sullen blunt grey hey were acting very silly right now, like the funny cartoons she watched in the hotel room when he was busy. Byeol-Su looked at King, his hand, and Bone's eyes looking at her from over said hand. What was that about? Maybe she was about to say a word that would make her lose, and he knew to stop her in time. He knew her so well! Was it because they were always together? Always in one body, except in moments like this, in play? That must have taken a lot of effort. But they were so good together, like a host and her parasite should be. Maybe one day she would be as in-tuned with him as they were to each other. Bones started talking about grape-juice and the way it was named versus its colors. "Huh, did not think of that. And there is pink drink, too. But no pink grapes? Or is it both green and red? Would not make brown instead? Brown drink..." she stuck her tongue out in disgust, though it lasted only a moment before she let out a little giggle, " █Ø drinks the white kind. Says red makes teeth stain, not good for talking to friends. Think they all taste bad. Like dry. Dry drink. Ew." She considered her word again. Both of hers had been plants. Maybe she could make a game of her own within the game of only using plants as answers? Not the most useful words to remember, in the sense of using this game to learn Japanese, but it was fun in its own way. "Honeydew! Like honeydew melon," Byeol-Su mimed a round shape in front of her, slightly bigger than her head. "Yellow kind. Or green kind? Outside is yellow, inside is green. Seeds yellow, too." Byeol-Su paused, then, brow furrowing, added, "...why do call it 'honey' then...honey is gold." Why did the people who named these things not name them after their real colors? | ✉ | Let me tell you about the melons |

Maybe it was the world mocking her for all of her troubles, all of her failures and shortcomings. The world was poking fun at a girl birthed from chaos who tried her best to rise above. But the world wanted to see her drown. They were always more entertained when she suffered. It simply was that way. It started with Sato; First being his lab rat, then his personal servant. Perhaps now, with a new title, she was granted another chance at life, but still, she was under the blade. Wounds opened at each action, waiting to pick her apart like they did before. But she endured it. She endured it, because she feared more, of who else would embrace the pain, if it was not her body that was sacrificed. "It is made from red grape skin for color, but is not as strong, therefore pink." Setsuna answered her half question of rosé wine, or at least what sounded like it. It wasn't long until she continued the game, spitting out about another fruit. "I think because of the taste." said the creature with not a single tastebud. "Warrior." Kasey would reply. Only to lift her nose to catch a faint aroma. No, it was much too soon for their food. It wasn't like they ordered anyways. Kasey begun to slide down her seat, only offering a stare at Setsuna. He replied with a nod, allowing his woman to unseat herself to call upon a waitress. Setsuna lay his head upon his paw which rested on the table. While his other half went to fetch a woman to grant their meal. Fine meat, mocchi and other various things. Surprises. House specials. Anything to please the little one. ~ Word Count: 297 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

you're in the city of light And so the walls where the colors once played Were replaced by the buff, now a sullen blunt grey ing was very knowledgeable about things that even Bones was not. That was weird. Almost all of Byeol-Su's knowledge was from what her host told her, what she saw through his eyes when they were together; that King, Bones' own parasite, knew things she didn't was so alien to her. Yet they moved with each other like he was an extended limb, in sync and in tune with one another so well. Then again she was here learning things that he would not know about if she didn't tell him. Of course, she would tell him. So then it would stop being something only the parasite knew and return to shared knowledge with her dear host. Another funny thought popped into her head: did King eat? He had such a weirdly shaped head and mouth, but still spoke normally. Did he eat? Bones said he had no blood, but neither did she, and she needed to eat. Maybe he did too, which is how he knew about wine and melons. "Rrrrr..." Byeol-Su rolled her tongue, extending the last letter of Bones' word as she thought, but in barely a moment was distracted from her very serious thinking by Bones getting up and going to the curtain. Byeol-Su tilted her head. "Is food here?" She spoke aloud, more to King than to Bones' retreating figure, "Could not even smell it. Bones has a dog nose! But King is the one with a dog face." A pause. She looked King's head over a few times. "Think it is a dog face. Or cow? King is not sad that we are eating cow, too, are he?" The thought that a person whose gift made them look like an animal might not like seeing people eat that animal made her head dizzy. By that logic she should not like seeing people playing with clay, or breaking clay vases, but did she? All thoughts were cast aside at the arrival of food. Byeol-Su gasped and clapped her hands with a chorus of wet 'plap' sounds as the table was filled with plates, some steaming, some cold, all smelling similar yet different but all delicious compared to the others. Without pause for thought she plucked a thin--relatively, it was still cut quite thick, worthy of its price--slice of meat from the top of a steaming bowl of noodles and chomped down on it. The meat was so soft it practically melted against her teeth, like it didn't even need a knife to cut through it at all. However... "ETH HOT!" Byeol-Su gasped, mouth opening and closing rapidly in an attempt to cool the piece of steak still in her mouth. It mixed with the coolness of her body and created some sort of steam. It burned the inside of her cheek all the same. Still she managed to chew it and swallow it without tears coming to her eyes, and despite it all, she was still grinning ear to ear when she had done so. "But so good!! So soft! Like bread! But tastes like steak!! And is very hot. Did not burn tongue!" She squealed out a peal of giggles and, this time remembering utensils existed, took up her pair of chopsticks with some minor difficulty before she picked up the half-bitten piece of meat on the plate in front of her, blew on it thrice, and then ate it up as well. Another delightful sound escaped her. "So good!! OH! Um, word, rrrrrr..." Byeol-Su looked at the table for inspiration, "R...Radish!" | ✉ | Man now I want to eat steak. RIP. |

They might have shared the same body, but only the pair knew that they could live without each other. Setsuna could easily find a new body to inhabit, but none were as predictable as Kasey. None were able to endure the pain like Kasey did, and none would sedate his hunger like Kasey had. No other would have a hunger for blood like she did, and for that, he had no reason to look elsewhere. But They were, and would always be two separate people that lived, essentially, in the same body. From Sato's library, to Amadeus's study, they had always taken to their own research for different things. One tried to learn to be human, while the other sought to be more of a monster. Who was to say which half was which. "A canine. Though, I did not know what shape to use. I can look more human, if you would like?" he asked, a bit curious. Was she feeling strange with his wolf-like appearance? And what did he model the skull after? It certainly wasn't a dog. Though it wasn't exactly a cow either. Perhaps some dragon like concept he read in a book somewhere. Why he decided it to be his default form, was anyone's guess. "To be fair, she is not saddened when she eats people. I don't see why a cow would make any-" His words cut off by the sight of food. He tried to sniff the aroma, but in his form, he had no senses. At least, in this form... Sitting back down, Kasey would assist the staff in placing the plates on their table, hoping to be rid of them sooner. She watched the girl reach out, only for her to smile at her hand touching the food. "NO WAIT-" but it was too late. She would exclaim, the pain of temperature against her. Though, was it pain, or simply discomfort? The oddities of her quirk left much to imagination for Kasey. Only for the both of them to stare the child and think the same thought, even without being bonded. "Wait, why does she have a tongue?" Perhaps out of place, it wasn't like Setsuna's tongue did anything different than the girl's. Setsuna moved over to Kasey, only to jump on the back of the seat, wrapping his front limbs around his master. His head set upon her shoulder, he would rest. His claws dug into her skin, and Kasey would reach out to the food, never picking up a single utensil. A handful for him, a handful for herself. "Now, this was worth my time." Kasey would say with a smile. Setsuna would chew a mouthful of meat and rice only to reply to the girl. "Righteousness." he would say, only to have food spill from his mouth, onto their seat. Kasey would look down at the mess, only to have Setsuna completely unphased by it. Kasey would take the food in her own hands, before placing it into her own mouth to feed. It wasn't strange when the two of them literally ate trash. ~ Word Count: 535 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

you're in the city of light And so the walls where the colors once played Were replaced by the buff, now a sullen blunt grey id King just say that Bones ate people? Byeol-Su was quiet for a little while, staring at him, then at Bones as the two of them ate and exchanged an embrace that was curious in its own way--his claws in her skin, did they give him a sense of taste? How terrible it would be for her if she needed a host to taste, given how rarely he shared her love of sweet things--but she couldn't shake the sudden cool feeling in her body. Her body was always cold in all fairness. At least, it should have been, if she wanted to maintain her form without her features melting or any other horrific side-effects that heat did to her. This was a different kind of cold, though, than simply physical. Bones ate people. Like meat, like food. Why? Was it any different than him? He killed people. So did she, when he was hosting her. It was the same thing to her whether or not she was herself when the trigger was pulled, whether or not it was her clay-like skin that the blood splattered on or his. Being part of a murderer was no different than being a murderer. Still, he had always made it clear that what they did was not normal. They helped people and they hurt other people. All of it was for the good of all of them. That was what he said to her whenever she wondered. Aloud. Sometimes she wondered quietly and there were never any answers then. But even though he killed people, and she killed people, they did not eat people. Eating a person felt like something taboo, even to a killer. Why, though? It got rid of the evidence, which was perhaps something that he could appreciate. Was that what Bones had meant before, about getting rid of a witness so completely that even their corpse would not leave an answer? Because she would eat the corpse, thus, erasing the person completely. Ah, yes, that was what she meant. That was very helpful. Would he think of it like that, though? Or would he, too, feel cold and want nothing to do with her? Byeol-Su felt cold, but not necessarily like she wanted to run away. She liked Bones and King. They were nice to her, they were her friends, they were people who understood her on so many different levels. Hosting, parasites, death, pain, gifts. So many, many ways did they know. But...would he think of it that way? "Ah, radish ends in 'h', King! You lost!" Byeol-Su squealed, a long string of noodles caught between her chopsticks and still dripping with broth, thankfully onto the plate and her napkin, suspended in front of her mouth while she spoke. "Does mean I win? Or Bones, are you in game with King, or by self? Do you lose when he loses?" She slurped her noodles in a most satisfying way. Everything was very rich in flavor and she loved it so much, though the meat was definitely the newest part of the meal to her. She still loved noodles. Mouth still sort of full she spoke, though not so messily as King whose food fell out of his mouth when he spoke. Yucky! "Or we can start another game! Or wait to stop eating. Maybe make it easier to talk if no food in mouth." | ✉ | I ate some steak after that last post. But now I want noodles. |

His claws burrowed into her skin, only to meld and fuse with her existing membrane and bone. With it, they were a single body again, though now with two different mouths of their own. Each with their own mind, and limbs to operate as their own. A strange thing to watch, sure, but to them, it was simply what was normal. But the strange pair held some of the darkest secrets. Born from a comic book experimentation, they gained no such skill like other famed heroes. No. It was the issue where the villain was tricked, captured, and tested to expose their abilities to be weaponized. But it was a story of a man who sought to aid his ill daughter. The story of a man who wanted to save a life, by playing with a dozen others. That was the reason the pair had a distaste for Sato, after all, it was his own wishes. It was then they first tasted blood. It was then that they watched lives end. But from it, from the chaos and mayhem, a hero of sorts was born. Not a hero of the light, but one of darkness and fire. A hero, who would kill all that bore sin without seeking redemption. A self-righteous killer in the honor of a nameless god of a forgotten village. A demon and her spirit who consumed all that were evil, so there would be no grave. "Dammit." He thought to himself. "Well, you win. Let's dig in then." he would say, only to be fed by Kasey's hand. A handful of bone and other strange fried foods, while she reached out with her hands to get meat for herself. "I guess we both lose then." Kasey would say, she would swallow her food quickly, cleaning her hands, only to then realize she was still wearing her gloves. She reached to her wrists, sliding them both off her hands an placed them into her pockets. Her scarred flesh exposed. Her bandaged fingers wrapped, only to be folded in front of her. Setsuna's hind paws placed onto back, only to offer leverage as one of his paws extended from Kasey to reach out to the foot to feed himself. "Would you like to play again, or would you like to play another game of sorts?" she would ask. ~ Word Count: 381 ~ |

you're in the city of light And so the walls where the colors once played Were replaced by the buff, now a sullen blunt grey yeol-Su had the table manners one might expect from a girl her age, so she wasn't bothered at all by Bones picking the food up with her fingers rather than using a fork or chopsticks. When she was alone, she didn't really care how she picked up and ate food, either, unless the food was too hot, like the steak had been. Her cheek was still odd-feeling--too soft, compared to the rest of the inside of her mouth, like it had melted slightly. It didn't hurt any more, though. Maybe they could have something cold and sweet for dessert. Wide eyes widened further at the sight of Bones' hands without her gloves. They looked almost like his. Bandages and scars, marks from mistakes. Were they from mistakes? Bones said she could heal herself; why didn't the scars heal, too? Did skin not work the same? Byeol-Su never scarred. Then again, she had never been injured in such a way that might lead to a scar forming. "How did Bones hurt hands?" she asked with a touch more worry in her tone. She scooted herself over to be a little closer, trying to get a better look, disregarding any concerns for personal space. Bones' question was momentarily overlooked. | ✉ | Short one setting up for a longer one~ |

"People." She quickly answered. Kasey's body healed in a way that more often than not, made no sense. From regrowing strange organs to layers of skin, she had completed feats some could only wish for. Nothing she did happened instantly, and much less over night. Everything was a process. Everything took time. But with repeated pain, a higher tolerance was created. It was the reason she always chose her back or her hands to make heavy use of her quirk. She was used to the pain in those places. From losing her fingers before, or having her back dissected at that cursed lab years ago. It didn't matter. Pain was something she was used to. "The scars will go away soon, if I didn't keep reopening them." Wounds she didn't want to heal. She didn't want to forget. Every cut, every wound from that horrid night. She never wanted to forget the chaos that was Semper Fi. Every night she tore at the new tissue, only to not allow it to heal. Her arms were barren, smooth and new. But her hands were dressed in the suffering. "I don't think it's a story you'd have enough time to hear." She would say to the young girl. And maybe, Kasey was right. Just maybe. ~ Word Count: 204 ~ |

Did Bones mean to answer that so fast? She didn't even think about it. Maybe that was a good thing, though, because then Byeol-Su knew she was telling the truth. They looked bad. Like they hurt. Why would people hurt her like that? She was nice! And why didn't she let them heal sooner?
"Not do that. Being hurt is bad! Not re-....reopen." She struggled on the last word slightly. Forgetting about her food or about the games Byeol-Su raised her eyes to Bones' face. Or the face of the mask. What did she look like underneath it? Or was it part of her, like the goat skull was for King? That wasn't important though. The small frown and wide eyes would stay fixed on Bones, masked or skull'd or not. Why would anyone keep hurting themselves like that? On purpose? Byeol-Su got hurt a lot, too, to protect her host. It was different than doing it to herself though. It was different.
He wasn't like that either. His didn't heal, like Bones' could. If he could...
Would he?
After a moment longer of staring at Bones, Byeol-Su sighed and slipped back to her spot, resting her elbows on the table and stretching her arms out past her place-mat. "Is it sad story? Or bad story? Not care if long." She picked up another piece of meat from the main dish with her fingers and blew on it twice before biting it in half. It was still so soft and tasty--did Bones like people meat or cow meat more, she wondered, but only for a couple seconds--and she liked it a lot. She liked Bones a lot, she decided.
"Maybe can tell later." She ate the second half of the meat and was already reaching for a second piece. "Friend do have lot of time to story, yes?"

Suffering was a word most could understand. But there was those who were wrapped in so much privilege and power they could never fathom the idea of such a feeling. A type of person like that would have nightmares of the thought of the pain, while others like her lived it day to day. Kasey was someone who didn't allow herself to forget anything. To allow those kids to even be subjected to that. To allow the chance for someone to harm them. But she was a villain, right? That was her job. She was supposed to fight heroes, were the students any different? Did she have rules as a villain? Sure. She held herself to a strange standard. Listening into the villains talk about the school and going after the children was a war on the future. But she wasn't protecting the children, she was protecting her own future. After all, what good was a villain if they had no one to face? She had her nemesis. And the enemy of her enemy, was her friend. Hurting was bad, or so, the child said. She was right. Pain was suffering. No one should suffer. Not the sick, not the young, on both sides of this civil war. To reopen wounds was to do yourself harm. "I have all of the time in the world. After all, time is money." Perhaps it was the wrong time to joke, but to her, it wasn't. She had more money than she could count. But that wasn't saying much, considering she could barely count the fingers on her hands. Phrases and sayings to her, was literal. And this one saying, had become her life. "When your body recovers from every possible injury, from any illness, your body gets replaced. If I let these scars heal, as well as others, will it be my body anymore?" She asked a lot towards a child, but mentally, she was just as young. An infant in the world. "These scars are mine. I won't let them heal. These wounds are who I am." A short version of a long tale. "They remind me of who I'm supposed to be. What I'm supposed to do."~ Word Count: 358 ~ |

"That a thing heard friend say. Time is money. Weird words."
Byeol-Su stuffed her mouth again without thinking about it. The heat wasn't as intense as when the food had first come, but it still hurt a little. Still she smiled happily at the taste. Bones confused her with what she was talking about. If your body healed, no matter what, was it still your body anymore? What a weird question. Her body was her body wasn't it? Even when she was being hosted, Byeol-Su didn't get confused as to who she really was. She was still herself, still just the same, just in the body of another person, who was themselves, too. Did Bones feel that way? Maybe because she was always hosting King, she got confused about it. Was King confused?
"You are you," she mumbled with her chin only an inch off the table. She'd begun to shovel some delicious smelling rice into her mouth, unable to use the chopsticks properly to pick it up neatly. But she was young enough to get away with it. "When am hurt am healed, even if more time is take. Am still parasite when hurt is gone. Me is me. Bones are Bones. Is easy."
A few grains of rice stuck to the outside of her mouth, squished into the soft, clay-like substance of her flesh. She picked them out and smeared them into her plate like bugs. "Do not under stand. Am not able to scar. Skin not...so-lid? Solid to scar. So can not scar. Can King scar too? King do not have skin." Raising her head a little she looked at the looming, beast-like skeletal figure standing over Bones. Did he care that she was hurting herself? Her friend did. He cared a lot when she was hurt. So, so much.
"Take care, not hurt. Be friend longer if not hurt."

Children. They were too pure for the world. They saw things as they were. Surely, it was still the same soul, even if the vessel replaced itself. Surely, it was still her mind piloting her giant bone robot with some sort of meat armor. A robot that was fueled on blood and flesh of those it fell. Kasey reached out, taking another handful of noodles, shoving it into her face, and another handful for King. She was Bones to the girl, and Setsuna was King. They were themselves, even if under a different, temporary name. Setsuna looked away, staring into the darkness of the restaurant as the two of them talked. It was a matter he hated partaking in. A matter that always seemed to lose, no matter what side he was on. He cared for Kasey, more than just a parasite does to its host. To him, she was his own daughter. But for him to come out, was to bring her pain, something she had grossly become obsessed with. In order to protect her, Kasey had to suffer. She had to endure the pain. But was it right to allow her to embrace it? After all, it was the one thing that reminded them of how human they still were. "A long time ago." It wasn't more than a year, but to a girl that couldn't count days, it felt like a lifetime. "I had removed my eye." She lifted her scarred hand to point at her face. "And then someone cut off my fingers." The scars, or where the scars should have still been, were where they should be. But it was obvious, that the scars were her own doing, now the injury. "I grew it all back. These are no longer the same fingers that held a young girl's head up high, or the same eye that once saw my sister. They are new pieces of me." She spoke, but she knew it did little. "I have to hurt, so I don't for-""To us, scars are memories. Stories." Setsuna would say. "It's how we remind each other how much of our lives we've given up for others."Pink Hair. Green Hair. Yellow Hair. Black Hair. It didn't matter their color. They all hurt when they left. None of them were going to come back. No one ever came back. ~ Word Count: 395 ~ |

Several pieces of steak wound up in the bowl of noodles, pulled apart into smaller chunks, and then stirred together by Byeol-Su's chopsticks until the broth smelled even meatier and yummier than it had before. She scooped up the beef in the fancy clay spoon and gulped it down. Talking about scars and cuts and severed fingers and popped-out eyes didn't deter her from her dinner. It probably would have ruined other people's appetites, but it wasn't that strange to hear about. He would do things like what Bones was talking about while she was in his body. Sometimes being able to stop people from talking wasn't enough to keep them from doing something bad to them.
What was strange was how Bones said it. She spoke like losing her fingers and her eye meant that the ones that grew back weren't "her". They were. When Byeol-Su grew back things she lost--albeit they weren't "flesh" the way Bones had flesh, but it was something similar to some degree--it was still herself. Even if that hand had never held his before, or if that tongue had never tasted something sweet until then, she stilled remembered how those things felt and tasted and were. And she could feel those things from all the people she hosted. Her experiences in her host became a part of her even though it wasn't her skin and her eyes and her ears and her body.
So why did Bones and King need scars to hold onto those feelings?
Weren't memories good enough?
She couldn't complete the word King cut off in her head, being so new to the language, so all she had that explained it was what Bones had said before that, and what King said now. Scars, stories, memories, reminders...
"Head hurts. Not think am liking this story anymore," Byeol-Su grumbled, staring at her plate with her brow furrowed tight. She just didn't understand. And not understanding made her angry. Scars weren't memories. Scars were pain, were bad. What about good memories? Did they have scars for those, too? She said something about having a "sister". Byeol-Su kind of knew what that word meant, but not completely. Still, did she really think that it was meant more to have the body part that had seen that sister than just to have the memory? It was dumb. It didn't make sense to her. It hurt.
Why does it hurt?
"Want to game now. Talk is sad. Bad. Not like it anymore."
