In-universe date: 22nd December 2072 It all came to this. Every second spent furiously working out plans in his mind, every day spent wallowing in his own self-pity and every night spent caught in some pointless fight because he had been found searching the streets had all been building up to this exact moment.
Nick stood around the side of the Vega arcade, leaning against the wall with his hands shoved in his pockets. Instead of his usual scruffy attire, he wore the crisp two-piece white suit he had stolen that night he ran into Rowan again. The suit jacket hung open to reveal an equally expensive (and also stolen) black shirt and red tie. On his feet were black leather shoes and on his hands matching black leather gloves. It was by far the smartest he had looked since his abrupt departure from Yuuei. He was hardly going to convince anyone of the things he wanted to if he looked as though he had dressed in a bin, was he? And speaking of bins -
Hurry the hell up, Goro, for Christ’s sake.
It would be snowing in Hell before Nick admitted to feeling even a slither of anxiety. He shuffled only because it was cold, nothing more, he repeatedly insisted to himself. Not because he was nervous, or worried, or because he still felt the bruises from when Mother had slammed him through a wall. No.
It’s going to work. Remember why you’re doing this.

Goro had not slept in what felt like days. In reality, it had probably been much less time, considering he’d only just woken up prior to the meeting with Mother the previous night, but everything that had happened made the time stretch and distort in his mind. Mother’s punishment, followed by Nightmare’s first flight, and then the sleepless hours between his return to his hotel room and now that he’d spent working tirelessly.
Nick had been incredibly vague about what he had planned, but considering all that had happened recently it was all too obvious it was something to do with Semper Fi. Goro could sympathize with Nick’s impatience, but he must have chosen this time of the day out of spite. Coffee was the main thing keeping him awake.
His other suits were in the drycleaners, and the one he’d worn the previous night had been all but destroyed. All he had left to wear was one of the dress shirts he’d bought a couple weeks ago and jeans that he immediately found uncomfortable. Of course, there was his combat armour, but he had no intention of wearing that around in public without a good reason. He’d jammed it into his suitcase and brought it with him to the arcade though, as he suspected he’d probably need it for whatever Nick was planning.
The holes in his wings ached, though they had begun to heal up beneath the bandages. He could at least move them now without them hurting, but he tried to keep them wrapped behind his back to prevent the breeze from irritating the gaps.
It was about five minutes past four when Goro finally arrived at the Vega arcade. He fell against the wall Nick was leaned against, and scowled at Nick’s outfit. Of fucking course, he’d somehow got himself such an elaborate suit, of course.
“So. I assume you have something actually planned, and you didn’t just tell me to meet you here without thinking ahead.” Goro didn’t quite meet Nick’s eye, instead looking down at his suitcase.

Yes, it had all been leading up this. A day of retribution. Or a night, perhaps - the sun was beginning to melt into the horizon, dyeing the sky all different shades of red and gold.
Tonight every wrong Nick had committed against Mother would be corrected. She would forgive him. She had to forgive him. Lord, please let her forgive him...
Finally, Nick heard approaching footsteps and saw Goro walking towards him with his usual face like a slapped arse. “You actually turned up. I was beginning to think you’d been abducted by aliens or something, but I suppose that was too much to hope for.”
He peeled himself away from the wall. He noticed Goro doing his best not to look at him, but Goro was the last person whose feelings he cared about. As long as the bastard would remain focused on what they were about to do, nothing else mattered. “So, I assume you know about the military camp, correct? Those Quirkless bastards basically declared war on us.” And then some. Nick regretted little as much as he regretted the fact he had not been there when shit had really gone down. This was not even bringing up some of the slanderous anti-Quirker articles that had been written in the wake of the disaster...
“I’ve been thinking for a long time what we should do, even before Mother tracked us. We can’t just let what happened there slide. The Quirkless who orchestrated those attacks must pay.” He doubted even Goro, as irritating as he was, would protest about that. For all their differences the one aspect they had in common was their raging hatred of the Quirkless.
“Anyway, I was looking at the news when I saw a friend of mine had an interview scheduled at Tokyo5’s main station here. Look.” He removed his left hand from his pocket holding his phone. On the screen was a photograph of one Harry R Krowe, better known to the underworld as Crowley, which was captioned the following: Streaming live from Toyko5, interview with breakout author Harry R Krowe about the rising popularity of foreign literature in Japan. “It’s the same station they broadcast and stream the national six o’clock news from. That’s when I formed this simple idea: we’re going to crash the six o’clock news to spread our message. Crowley will still be on the inside, so he can open a window to let us in. You and I will storm the place with Crowley and some other friends of mine, say what we have to say while they’re still confused and get the hell out by the time they start to react. Any questions?”

“Oh, I’m well aware of what happened at Semper Fi, and though it may surprise you, for once I agree with you.” Goro said, his tone the same as usual but his leg was twitching with repressed fury, “We can’t simply allow the ones responsible for those atrocities to escape unpunished. I have spent a long time considering how to best deal with this issue myself, but I always came up short.”
It wasn’t a usual thing for Goro to admit any of his faults when Nick was present, but there were more pressing matters than their burning hate of each other.
Goro almost interrupted Nick with some kind of insulting comment about being surprised he had friends, but he held himself back. Like it or not, he needed to actually listen to what Nick was saying for once. This wasn’t the first time he’d heard the name Crowley, but having a face to put to the name was interesting, especially considering who it was. Goro wasn’t a fan of his books or anything, but he’d certainly heard of Harry R Krowe before, and he’d never expected the man to have such a deep link to the criminal underworld that he would need a villain name. At the very least, it was convenient for them.
“Yes, I actually have one question. I doubt you plan on making this an entirely bloodless affair, so tell me, what’s your plan when it comes to revenge on the military officers actually responsible for this? Surely you really don’t just intend to talk. You of all people know that wouldn’t do anything.” He pushed off the wall with hands, and spread his wings wide.
“If you really swallowed your petty pride enough to ask me for help with a non-violent protest, I’d have to ask what kind of disguise quirk you have and what you’ve done to the actual Nick.” He reached onto his back and tapped something wrapped around the base of his wings that reverberated with the ring of dull metal. “But, if that isn’t the case, I’ve prepared something for myself.”
Mother’s punishment had reminded Goro of a lot, but one of the most important was how fragile his wings really were. While there were not many in the world that were as powerful as Mother, a weaker man could still easily pierce through his wings. He needed to do something about it, and his time as Nightmare only further cemented that need.
Goro pushed his glasses back up, and the steel bracer over his wings clicked loudly as armour suddenly telescoped out to cover the rest of his wings in clean black steel. The spiked tips of his wings were sheathed in shiny purple, and the lines between each armour piece were filled by matte white.
“Obviously, this is the best I could create in a single night, but it’s better than nothing.” Despite the metal plating, Goro’s wings flicked and fluttered as normal, the armour conforming almost perfectly to the wings’ shape.

Nick rolled his eyes. “Of course there will be bloodshed, you dolt. What part of ‘make them pay’ went over your head? In fact, I’ve already spoken with a - contact…” He was not entirely sure what word to use to describe his relationship with Thunder. He definitely did not want to say he worked for the Yakuza boss. “Who happened to be present at the camp when things went to hell. He’s a very powerful contact, you see, the kind I believe would be able to get hold of some of the military personnel arrested for their involvement or rumoured to have been involved - and I do believe he has. He messaged me to say so. It wasn’t a terribly in-depth message so I won’t bother showing you it, but the point is he’ll be able to deliver us the Quirkless bastards when we need them. I just need to call on him when the time comes.”
A sick little smile slowly spread across his face. “We’ll execute them live on air for all to see. It’ll teach the Quirkless exactly what kind of retribution awaits them should they attempt to destroy us, and show the world we’re not to be fucked with.”
He glanced at the wing armour his brother seemed oh so very proud of, the smile fading as he narrowed his eyes critically. “It looks adequate. I suppose it will have to make do. Now, if you’re done asking questions, I can call on my two friends to meet us here and we can get started. You’d better put on the rest of your armour, by the way. We’ll get to Tokyo5 through the alleyways so no one sees us.”

Goro grinned as Nick confirmed his assumption. He’d been aching to exact vengeance on those quirkless scum for a long time, and being handed the opportunity excited him beyond words, even though he’d been expecting it anyway. He didn’t have any idea of who Nick’s contact could possibly be, but it was likely someone from the villain chatroom.
“And to think I even suspected you’d gone soft. It’s good to know you’re so prepared for this. You may be pathetic, but I don’t doubt that you have connections, you don’t need to show me your text messages.” There’d certainly be some nasty shit in there that Goro had no interest in seeing, after all, and Nick had nothing to gain to lie about his contacts anyway.
Of course, Nick wasn’t going to compliment him. The armour irritating him even slightly was more encouraging for Goro than anything positive Nick could’ve said anyway. “Please, go ahead and call your acquaintances, then. I didn’t want to spend any more time waiting with you anyway.”
Unfortunately, Goro hadn’t planned for where he was actually going to change into his armour. He wasn’t wearing much so it wouldn’t take him much time to change, but he’d assumed they’d be going indoors. While Nick was presumably calling their backup, Goro slipped away further into the alleyway, and quickly pulled his shirt off, careful to not tear it on the edges of the wing armour, before stuffing it into the suitcase.
He cursed himself for not fitting the armour for clothing to be worn underneath as he slipped the top piece over his chest.

Nick rolled his eyes at Goro’s sarcasm. As much as he wanted to punch his idiot brother in his stupid smug face - and oh did he ever want to - he knew well that, sadly, he needed him for this. A meatshield was a meatshield.
“Just try to be quick about it,” he huffed as Goro disappeared to put his daft over-the-top villain costume on. (Nick still had yet to have the chance to tell him how very tacky he thought it was).
With that he pulled out his phone - a cheap burner phone acquired from the black market, naturally - and began to text Nari so fast his fingers were blurs.
Hello Nari, it’s Nick. Excuse the different number but I need your help with a little something that’s really quite important. Can you please meet me beside the Vega arcade? I’d very much appreciate it. It’s for the good of all Quirked people.
He hit ‘send’ and off the message went. He hoped with all his heart she would answer it and was not too busy murdering random people or whatever. He added that it was for the good of Quirked people hoping this would motivate her, given their recent dealings with a group of persecuted mutant Quirkers.
Next was someone he was not quite as close to but had at least had some dealings with: Lady Lavande, Crowley’s girlfriend. He opened up access to a certain secret seedy network and began to input a private message to her:
@ladylavande - Hey, it’s Abaddon here. I don’t know if Crowley told you but we’ve both planned a special little something that’s going to make our names known and feared. If you’re in, meet me beside the Vega arcade. I promise there’ll be a lot of violence.
“Right,” he said as he sent this message. “Now we wait.”

Nothing. Absolutely nothing was going on. It was all rather boring, really. Nari stared up at the ceiling from her bed, her long brunette hair tousled around her as her babydoll clung to her skin, lightly hitched up due to her current position. Nick had left earlier and didn't say when he'd get back. She didn't want to say it but she was starting to miss him. She let out a sigh as her green orbs stared up at the old ceiling tiles, trying to get her mind off of things. She closed her eyes, wondering if she should just sleep until he got back, who knows, he might just try and jump her again looking the way she did. Before she could truly drift off to sleep, her phone buzzed, alerting her of a new message. With a soft groan Nari sat up, her hair falling into her face and her babydoll falling just a little, no one was there to see so why should she fix it? Nari picked up her phone and opened the message, seeing it was from an unknown number. How did someone get her number in the first place? Upon further examination, she determined the message was from Nick, asking her if she would help him with something behind the arcade. Did he was to try it out in public? How naughty of him~ Nari snickered upon reading the first bit of the message. Sadly though, that was not the case. Her smirk turned to that of a frown, reading that whatever he was doing would benefit quirked people as a whole. She could care less about those not mutants, but she supposed a little bit of action didn't hurt. Nari typed out a message and read it over, "Hmmm, I could come and help, only if I get a reward later once the business is done~" before sending it to Nick.
The brunette stood up and stretched before changing into something more appropriate and getting her weapons ready. Can't go into a fight without being prepared now~ She made sure her trusty knives were strapped to her thighs, hidden by her skirt. Nari always had to look her best while fighting, none of hat half assed shit now. Nari wrote a quick note for her mom before she headed out, doing a double check to make sure she had everything before she left. Perhaps this night wasn't a total waste after all. Vega Arcade, here comes Nari~

It's been a while since Meiko got beat up to a pulp by G. She was still bandaged in some places, like the wrist, the elbow, ribs and knee. But just because she was still bandaged didnt mean she was out of commission. In fact she was 98% healed and recovered from that beatdown by her ex.
And she was out and about fully geared up as a villain and hunting her prey, a pesky UA student. She even had a baseball bat in her hand ready, as she wanted a weapon but not use her Quirk. Her phone then vibrated in her pocket. Well, her REPLACED phone, the last one got trashed when she was thrashed. Meiko looked at her phone only to see it was Nick. Apparently Nick planned a special little something and he doesnt know if Alaster told her. Truth be told, she could not remember if she was told of this. The whole beatdown and interrogation and threat thing might have made Nicks little rondevouz slip Meikos mind. Apparently, he wanted to meet at Vega Arcade, that was actually really close.
Meiko texted him back to get some clarification. She did not know did Nick plan her to appear right now, or if that was a plan for like tomorrow LavenderAdmin DM to Abaddon: Neato, so Vega Arcade, now? Abaddon DM to LavenderAdmin: Yes, right now, please. LavenderAdmin DM to Abaddon: kk, on my way. See ya in 8mins
She logged off and quickly made her way to the arcade. Well, not too quickly. In a healthy and mild pace. Something as to not tire her out before a job. To arrive faster to the arcade, Meiko took shortcuts through some alleyways. Although when she finally was close enough to the arcade. Before she emerged from her alleyway, she was greeted with a pleasant sight~
Meiko couldnt help but whistle when seeing the sexy shirtless guy. "Nice~" Meiko commented on the guys looks "If Nicks jobs begin with me walking into a sexy shirtless guy. Then consider me hired permanently" Meiko thought to herself She was unaware that the sexy shirtless guy was none other than her good friend and mod xxBlackOutRogueDevilxx

Paranoia ate away at Nick like a pack of rabid wolves. What if the girls did not show up? What did he do then? Who else did he call on for assistance? The image of his dear Mother’s callous face flashed into his mind and he visibly recoiled. She would knock seven shades out of him if he called on her for backup, for the crime of being so unable to establish connections on his own that he needed her. No. He could not call on her. But who else was there...
As a result of his paranoia, he let out a far greater sigh of relief than he would admit to when he saw the small figures of Meiko and Nari approaching the alley. He stepped out of the shadows with a surprisingly genuine smile by his standards. “Nari, Meiko! Good to see you both made it. The pair of you look so radiant. It’s definitely a step up from that eyesore right there.” He thumbed towards Goro in his stupid outfit.
Knowing there was little time to waste, he continued right into his explanation of what they were doing there; “I’m sure you’re both aware of the recent military camp disaster. Well, Meiko, I know for a fact you are, since I met you there. The military basically showed they think all people like us are freaks that need to be exterminated. It’s the final straw as far as I’m concerned: the Quirked need to fight back. So, to cut a long story short, we’re going to murder some of the people involved live on air. To do that we’re going to break into Tokyo5, which Crowley will help us with since he’s currently inside their main building. Now, it’d be a foolish idea to go charging in there as we currently are with our faces on display for all to see…”
He pulled the hand not holding his phone out his pocket to reveal it was holding a pair of black balaclavas. “I have some masks here, if you need them. I know they’re not the most glamorous, but we need to protect our identities. We’ll need to use our codenames for this, for much the same reason. So, as you know, I am Abaddon,” It still did not feel quite right to call himself such, which frustrated him. When would he finally feel as though he had earned his other name? He shrugged these thoughts off and gestured to Goro. “And my brother here is…” He suppressed a sigh at being forced to utter Goro’s ridiculous moniker. “Blackout Rogue Devil.”
Through with his explanations, he turned and began walking. “Anyway, there’s no time to waste, so let’s go. I know the route to get there through the alleys without being spotted.”

Apparently, Nick’s associates were much faster than Goro had expected. He’d thankfully just pulled the lower half of his armour on when a purple-hair woman wolf-whistled at him. Judging by her choice in fashion, Goro had the feeling this would be LavenderSkull from the villain chatroom. Great, just great. To think she was one of the few people from that place Goro could actually stand.
He just scowled back at her and pulled his chest armour on as fast as he could, refusing to make eye contact. “I don’t know what Nick told you, but we’re here to actually do something, not just fuck around, Lavender.” He snapped. “So could you please take this seriously?”
Goro rolled his eyes at Nick’s ridiculous overbearing compliments toward their comrades. “If you would rather everyone stop assuming you a virgin, perhaps you should try and behave like a normal human being around women. It’s so transparent.” Goro finished stuffing his clothes into his suitcase and pulled the helmet out. He wasn’t going to wear it until they got a little closer to the news station, but having it at the ready would be a good idea.
He let Nick explain their plan without further interrupting; the less he interrupted, after all, the less time he’d have to spend hearing Nick talk. He spent the time flexing his wings under their armour, getting used to the change in weight and flexibility. As Nick introduced him, he gave a quick polite bow to the two girls. “You two can simply refer to me as Blackout, should the whole name be too long for tense situations.” Then he turned to Nick, a smug grin covering his face. “You don’t seem to have any trouble with the full name though, Abaddon, so try and stick with it, please.” Smug sarcasm was dripping from every word he spoke.
He turned and followed his brother as they began to head for the news station, his helmet under one arm.

Post by Nari Shimizu on Dec 27, 2018 22:39:40 GMT -4
With a little under a ten minute stroll, Nari spotted the familiar noirette by the arcade where he said. It was not just him however, there was a woman dressed in purple that looked oddly familiar. Who was she again? Ah right, Meiko. It had been a while since she last saw the girl, she didn't know the other was a villain as well. Small world. "Long time no see Meiko~" Nari spoke with a small grin. She heard Nick call out to them, saying they were absolutely radiant, quite the charmer he seemed to be tonight. When he mentioned something about an eyesore, Nari turned her gaze towards an alleyway, seeing a man changing clothes. Nothing she hadn't seen before. "I was wondering where you went to today, if you would have told me earlier I could have helped~ Instead you left me home alone, what was a poor girl to do~?" the brunette asked with a smirk, her eyes slitting slightly. She could tease the boy a bit, but it seemed he wanted to get right into business. Something about a military camp against quirked kind. She had only been there briefly for a sparring session so she wasn't too sure of the military personal's underlying thoughts. Her interest piqued when murder was involved. A little bit of bloodshed never hurt anyone, plus she was dying to taste that sweet, warm, copper elixir once more. A silly chuckle left Nari's lips as she blissed out over the fact of killing and devouring blood. She could practically feel herself salivating thinking about that hot blood travelling through her lamprey tongue and down her throat.
She broke out of her trance when the name Crowley was brought up. So bird boy was in on this too, hmm? Interesting. Perhaps she could tease him once they met up, like old times sake. Nari's eyes traveled to Nick's hands as he brought out what appeared to be ski masks, hearing they had to cover themselves to protest their identities. "Ehhh? Ski masks? Those aren't fun. It'll cover up my hair...not like I wear it down or anything," the brunette said with a pout, pursing her lips as she glared at the horrendous garment in Nick's hand. It didn't seem like she had a choice in the matter. With a sigh, Nari took a ski mask and held it in her hand, she would only wear it when necessary. Thankfully it had a mouth hole, lest she not be able to use her quirk. "Fine, I'm only doing this because I like you," Nari said with a bit of a scowl.
The man in the alleyway came to join them once he covered up his tighty-whities with armor of sorts, explaining along with Nick that they had to use their villain alias for the job. Nick's was apparently 'Abandon' and Nicks's brother....wait, Nick had a brother? His alias was 'Blackout Rouge Devil', could it be any more overly drawn out than that? Like hell she was saying that long ass alias! She'd rather sit through some sappy romance movie than say the name in its entirety. Thankfully, he said they could shorten the name which was a relief to the green eyed mutant girl. Nari turned to Meiko before turning back to Nick, following him as he began leading the way. "You can call me Serpentine," Nari spoke up, giving out her own alias that others could use if need be.

Well, the guy was not into fun and games, he was all super cereal. But it was a win either way. Grumpy pants or not, he knew who she was. And boy was she happy when reputation preceeded her. She had a huge shit eating grin under her mask and her eyes lit up in glee. "Well, considering you asked nicely, I'll do my best~" Meiko said to Goro, she wasnt phased by his anti social behaviour. She could've been so much worse, but this was Meiko on a good day.
So Nick saw her arrive, along with another familiar face she wasnt seen in years...ok actually months. Her fashionably challenged friend Naru. Oh wait... Nick said its Nari. Ah well...
But wait, Nari actually spoke? Last she remembered Nari was this mild and weak mute of a civilian. And incredibly fashionably challenged. But now she spoke as if it was nothing? "That dirty mother fucking liar" Meiko thought to herself
He proceeded to be creepy and polite. Although she disliked how he called her Meiko. Yes she plays with names, and apparenntly he remembered her last name used. He continued to say something about Quirked people and yadda yadda. She really did not care about that. Meiko was simply bloodthirsty and wanted to take out her bottled aggression on someone.
Neverthless she listened to the plan and heard Alaster was the inside man. Thats a plus~ Nick then proceeded to pull out a bunch of masks. Meiko just cringed under her bandana mask. He really WAS fashionably challenged. What a poor and unfortunate soul. He and Nari should get along nicely then. "I know they’re not the most glamorous, but we need to protect our identities. He says. Bitch, I am the Queen of Fashion. My mask goes with my image of skull and crossbones, the symbol of death. Its a stylistic choice of my black tanktop with the white X and my skull necklace and my skull hat along with my bandana. It all ties together nicely" Meiko thought to herself. But in actuality she was much more polite "Thank you, but no thank you. I am already fully prepared, no need for a mask~" Meiko told Nick
Nick introduced himself as Abaddon. And the other guy is his brother xxBlackOutRogueDevilxx "I think you forgot to pronounce the X's"Meiko thought to herself, she wanted to say it out lout. But considering Goro politely bowed and said that he could be called Blackout, she simply didnt have the heart
Nari told her name or code name was Serpentine. "I am totally shortening her name to Serpent or Snake. BlackOutRogueDevil keeps his fashionable name... Buuuut, he did politely say that we should call him Blackout. I guess I should respect his wishes." Meiko thought to herself. Even if he was a grumpy pants just now, Goro was the most likeable guy in this group
Lastly she went to tell them what to call her "I go by many names, Meiko, Rin, Miku, Ellie, Lavender and so on and so forth. But my Villain name is Lady Lavande." Meiko says "Remember it" she mentally added
Once the introductions and plans were said and done, the quartet started walking to get their mission started

Did the air just grow a bit colder, or was it all in Nick’s imagination? Regardless, he shrugged off Meiko’s decision to decline the mask he offered and shoved it back in his pocket. He only needed them for the extra muscle so as not to exhaust his Quirk and for distractions should the authorities show up.
His narrowed eyes glanced between his companions as they skulked their way through the alleys. They better not fuck this up, he thought to himself. He had waited too long. There was too much riding on his plan succeeding. Anyone who threatened his success was getting left behind...
Finally, they reached the end of the alleys and their destination. The Tokyo5 building was an unremarkable grey oblong of about five storeys, easily identifiable from the fact it had a bright red sign bearing ‘Tokyo5’. While there were many windows on its front, there was only one per storey on the side facing them.
“And there it is,” Nick said. “Tokyo5. Now I’ll message Crowley and get him to open the third floor window on the side of the building facing us. Once he’s done that, Blackout will carry us up and through the window.” No, he was not going to use Goro’s full moniker ever again, no matter what the smug bastard said. He had almost died of cringe uttering it the first time.
He wanted to make a sarcastic comment about Goro not wanting to get cooties from having to carry females, but managed to hold it in. There were more important things at stake. He would hardly be a good example to his companions if he expected them to cooperate but berated Goro all the time, no matter how much Goro deserved it.
“Once we’re in there all hell will break loose. We’re going to have to be as fast as we can and follow the signs to their main broadcast room. We’ll only have the element of surprise for so long, so speed is everything here.”
He pulled out his phone and began texting again:
Crowley, it’s Abaddon. We’re outside and ready. Open the third floor window on the western side.
This done, he put his phone away. He removed one final thing from his other pocket: the special something he had been working on for this exact moment. It was a skin-tight spandex black mask that would cover the entirety of his head down to the neck. It was undetailed aside from two red ‘eyes’ in the shape of his armour’s eyes that looked like two splashes of blood. Build into the inside of the mask was a small, round silver device around the mouth area; a ‘voice changer’ he had acquired from the black market and paid some shady individual to fix up. (It could have originally come from a child’s toy for all he knew). Nick Cross took a deep breath and closed his eyes…
...and finally felt a bit more like calling himself Abaddon when he opened them.
“Much better,” he said, his voice now deepened and punctuated by robotic crackling sounds courtesy of the voice changer.

"Good evening, Japan! This is your host Sakura, and today, we have a very special guest here tonight. Everyone, give a warm welcome to Mr. Harry R. Krowe!" After the applause, the pink-haired female interviewer continued. "So, Mister Krowe, tell us. Just what gave you the inspiration to write this bestseller?"
Alaster still could not believe it. His publisher had contacted him and gave him the news. His latest book, 024 Galactic Odyssey, was his best selling book to date. It sold like crazy! All those hours spent writing, all those sleepless nights, all the times he went back through the rough drafts to fix and improve every single sentence. It was all worth it. This was his greatest work yet! And even better, he was invited for an interview at the Tokyo5 building. To think, being on air for one of his own books. There were few things in life that made Alaster more proud than this moment.
A couple of days before the scheduled interview, Alaster was surprised to be contacted by Nick. Well, he supposed that after giving Nick his number back in Semper Fi that he should have expected the possibility of actually being contacted. Alaster listened with great interest at his plan of getting back at the quirkless fools. Unfortunately, Alaster could not assist Nick with that, as he was too busy with the interview he had to attend. However, upon telling Nick of this, it seemed as though this was actually a good thing. A new plan was formed. Alaster would let Nick and his allies in from the inside. Then, Nick could carry out his plans. Meanwhile, no one would suspect foul play from the kindhearted and cheerful writer Harry R. Krowe. It was brilliant!
Alaster made all of his preparations for the interview. Combing his hair back neatly, wearing a black suit with a dark red tie and black loafers, and getting into his role as the reclusive yet kind and well mannered writer. He also got his black leather bag, filled with pen, papers, and various books. The only thing out of place in this bag was a small container of bird food. However strange this item was to be in his bag, it was actually a very vital part of the plan, for a certain important reason that would make itself clear soon.
Alaster was not nervous at all for the interview itself. He just hoped that whoever was working with Nick were competent enough to not screw things up for him. Alaster arrived to the interview with more than enough time to spare. As he expected, there was security doing their expected thing, scanning Alaster for anything suspicious. Of course, Alaster was not stupid. He did not bring with him anything that would cause any alarm or suspicion. Even if security were to raise questions about the bird food, it was a well known fact among Krowe's fans that he had a pet raven at home, and it was no secret that he loved to feed the birds at the park. After getting the all clear, Alaster headed to the room the interview was taking place. It was go time!
"Thank you for very warm welcome! I do appreciate it!" Rather than using the sinister and slightly raspy voice whilst speaking as Crowley, Alaster smiled as he spoke with a soft, cheery, and sweet voice. All faked, although it was not something anyone would be able to easily tell. "Please, miss Sakura, call me Harry." Alaster began to explain in detail how he came up with the concept, how he was fascinated with the idea of an adventure outside Earth.
"So Harry, we are all in love with the protagonists and their dynamic with each other. The tough, badass, and protective older brother Ridan, and the sweet, gentle, and caring younger sister Nedra. How did you think of them? Was there any inspiration? Anyone you met in real life that you based them off of?"
In fact, that actually was the case. One of the few non-disastrous things to come out of Semper Fi was both seeing Nick again after their first meeting at the bookstore, and after the fiasco that followed, meeting Miku, a UA student and a fan of his books. Alaster allowed them both to name a character in his then upcoming book. He then decided to make both characters siblings who only had each other to look after as they dealt with the various crap in their space adventures. He even made a dedication to both Nick and Miku at the start of his book. 'To Sam and Miku, may you both continue to shine brightly.' (Of course, Nick's name was changed to Sam for obvious reasons) The fact that the two characters were very well received by his fans and the critics made it all the more heartwarming.
The interview went on for a while. Although Alaster was slowly becoming bored (although he did not show it), he did not mind at all. He always enjoyed speaking with his fans. After all, they took the time to read his books and actually enjoy them, and they were some of the very few humans in the world that Alaster could actually tolerate. So if showing his appreciation for them meant getting stuck in this boring interview, then so be it. He just hoped that Nick would not take too long to contact him.
Finally, it happened, just after announcing a short commercial break, Alaster's phone began to vibrate. "Please excuse me a moment. I need to go to the restroom." Afterwards, Alaster headed out of the room. Once he was alone, he checked the message. Good, they were ready. Fortunately, Alaster was not too far from the third floor west window, so he did not have to walk for very long. Once he was there, he saw a single camera in the room. Even though it was not pointing directly at the window itself, it would still see anyone trying to leave or enter the room. Bollocks! Of course that was going to be a problem. But no matter! Alaster had a trick up his sleeve.
First, Alaster texted Nick. I'm here. Don't make a move just yet. I'll deal with the camera here first. Then once it's all clear, I'll give you the signal to get in. With that done, it was time to put his plan into motion.
Being careful to only move around in the camera's blind spot, Alaster carefully opened the window. He then took out his bird food from his bag, opened it, and held the food out the window. Alaster made sure to fill it with food that crows would find irresistible. A few minutes of waiting, and a crow began to fly towards Alaster's outstretched hand. Excellent! Being grateful of the fact that the camera recorded only video and not audio as well, Alaster activated his quirk. Cawing loudly, the signal sent from Alaster's irritated throat took control of the bird's mind. Its eyes glowing blood red, the crow turned to face Alaster, awaiting his command.
"Come to me!" Immediately, the crow flew towards Alaster. Flying inside the open window, the crow landed on Alaster's shoulder. Smiling, Alaster cawed again and commanded the crow once more. "Destroy that camera!" With the bird's enhanced strength, the crow swooped on the camera, attacking it as though it were a mortal enemy. Once the glass lens was destroyed, the camera was no longer an obstacle. Still, there was not a lot of time to celebrate. Alaster doubted that a camera suddenly going offline would go unnoticed by security. They needed to move quickly.
After cawing one last time to command the crow to fly away, Alaster watched the bird fly out the window, its duty done. He then took out his phone and texted Nick. Camera has been dealt with. I leave the rest to you. Best of luck. As much as Alaster wished he could stay to assist, he knew that he should be getting back soon. The last thing he needed was for anyone to wonder what was taking Harry so long to get back from the restroom.
Quickly making his way back to the room (but not too quickly, as he did not want to visibly be out of breath), Alaster did his best to look natural. "My apologies if I kept you all waiting. I seem to have gotten lost looking for the restroom. Perhaps I should have asked for directions first." Laughing nervously, Alaster was relieved when Sakura told him it was fine, and that he did not keep everyone waiting too long. Good, these fools did not suspect a thing. Alaster could not wait to see how Nick would make this interview less boring.
With the cameras rolling once more, commercial break was over, and it was time to resume the interview. "Alright, everyone! We're back!" Sakura was enthused to continue talking with Harry, so excited to hear more from him, and like everyone else in the studio, so unaware of the unexpected guests that would soon arrive.
