WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Luzia had made a decision. A dangerous, yet interesting decision. To blow up the floor near the stairs down, could open up the way to the next flight of stairs, essentially taking them down two floors at the same time. For a crazed, whackjob of a female, that plan wasn't all too bad. The explosion went off, with all the individuals running for their lives. Perhaps the part of the plan that included bringing in the rest of the group on what she was planning to do could be refined for the future. Then again, perhaps Luzia wasn't too interested in warning the Yuuei students. A metallic clank, echoing as the grenade bounced down the stairs, the walls... It must've been the most horrifying sound to those that were aware of what was going on. Like a timer, ticking down to an inevitable blast. When it came, it came furiously. Being that their areas were compressed, the shockwave propagated through the air to a surprisingly effective degree. To the group, it would c ause their ears to begin ringing, badly. Shards of shrapnel tore through the metal of the barracks like a can-opener tore through canned tuna. The metal was tore open, leaving long gashes. The group was, for the most part safe from the shrapnel, having evacuated far enough away that their risk of being hit was near null. Though, close to zero risk didn't equal literally zero...Naoru had a singular titanium shard carve along his back. If the angle had been different, he would've been pierced. Instead, he was simply slashed, from his rear-bone all the way to his right shoulder. It wasn't a particularly deep cut. Only a single centimeter into his flesh. Jeanne, on the other hand, had been less fortunate. A shard had pierced through her collar bone, right where the neck meets the shoulder. Hands grasping at the wound, blood was pouring between her fingers as she was desperate to apply pressure to the profusely bleeding injury. Stem the bleeding! Screaming in pain, Jeanne was rolling around on the floor, trying to find anything to pressure against the wound. Cloth, bandages. There was nothing immediately presenting itself to her. If nothing was done, the reporter would be bleeding out in a matter of minutes at most. The wound was not a pretty one.Down below, they heard Yoshi Miwa's voice for the first time in a while. Yet, the voice was nothing like it had been before. Every shred of humanity had been torn from the female, leaving behind only a deep, inhuman gargling. The grenade had poured several of its shards into her skin. Where they had been stopped flat. The woman had become twisted and warped, with her arms having swollen so large she had to move bent forwards, like a gorilla. The shards from the grenade were slowly being pushed out from her wounds, as they rapidly began regenerating. Slamming her enormous arms into the ground, she left dents in the floor with singular swings. Once the group saw her, it became very apparent. This was not an enemy they could conquer and defeat. At best, they could distract her and buy time. The woman was somewhat mindlessly trying to guard the way downwards, having clearly lost a vast majority of her remaining intellect. From the hole in the floor, which the grenade had created, the group would be partially able to skip the fourth floor...Partially, as in, dragging the monstrocity that Yoshi Miwa had become down into the final floor, where they'd be dealing with X320, would be ill adviced. Someone would have to offer up as a distraction. As bait. Perhaps even as a sacrifice...? The voices inside their heads had taken a new shape. A new form. Now, instead of being spoken in foreign tongues, it spoke in their own voice, making it practically impossible to distinguish between the whispers and their own thoughts... Luzia: The grenade was fun, really fun! Wait, won't they get to that Yoshi Miwa bitch and leave me behind? They're mine to kill. Mine! I cannot trust them, cannot trust them. I should kill them, kill them, kill them. I should first murder that X320 bitch, but if they turn their back... I could stab them. I could kill them before they'd even notice. Those Yuuei kids with their happy lives. I will not let them! I will survive! Naoru: I cannot protect them from Xezo, Alicia. They're all losing it. The only way I can protect them now, is by preventing them from turning into monsters. Then if I kill myself, at least this plague won't spread. If I have to do this to protect the others... Rin, Sutetchi, my family... I'll do it if I have to! Kasey: I can feel my energy ebbing away. I need to eat. I need to restore myself. The only ones I can eat are the people with me. I cannot eat the students, that'd defeat the purpose of coming here. The reporter looks tasty, I'm sure she'd give me a lot of energy. Or perhaps that crazy girl that almost blew us up..? She's dangerous to the ones I am trying to protect. I should eat her, too... Eat them both. Eat them all.Kogami: I've been useless this whole time. The others know so too. They're just waiting for one good opportunity to leave me behind. They think I am a burden. They know I am a burden. I won't let them. I won't be a sacrifice for their amusement! No, someone else can be left behind. Perhaps I could throw someone at Yoshi Miwa as a sacrifice to buy myself some time..? They're not important compared to my survival anyway...
And thus began their rumble. Should the group be unable to reach their destination, they'd slowly begin losing their minds moving forwards. It would not be the end they'd all desired, hoped for, dreamed of. Should their minds be claimed; Should they become drones to the queen, then their hopes of surviving would be flushed down the drain....

Every second felt like an hour, but things still moved fast. Luzia tried to limp away from the grenade, but before she could even realize she was too slow, she felt an arm around her waist. She blinked, looking over her shoulder, and then suddenly, WOOSH! She let out a yell of surprise when, without warning, she was tugged through the hallway. She couldn't even react, though; the sudden, unexpected force made her jolt and freeze up.
BOOM!
A powerful shockwave went through the building, maybe even echoing into the camp itself, throwing Luzia out of Kogami's arms to the floor. All of a sudden, there was nothing, not even silence; she heard nothing but a loud, painful ringing in her ear, writhing on the ground and clamping her hands tight over her ears in a useless attempt to stop the ringing. What the fuck just happened?! Was that what making something explode felt like?! It was horrible! Everything hurted, the explosion, it just... went through her! It was like she laid down on a speaker for an hour or something! And her ears...!
"Auuuuuuuugh!"
Luzia screamed in frustration and confusion, but she couldn't even hear herself. Why did people find this fun?! This was awful! Her chest felt like she was hit by a car, her ears... she couldn't hear AND they hurt! This hurt way more than that blonde explosion girl! She yelled in frustration again, her anger only growing when she thought of her, slamming her fist on the ground over and over as she yelled more and more, cursing each and every hit. Who the fuck liked explosions?!
The grenade was fun, really fun!
Luzia panted harshly, her ears still ringing, slowly opening her eyes as that thought passed through her head. No, it wasn't! It was horrible! ...Right? She groaned, pushing herself onto her feet, looking around... and she blinked in surprise at the damage. The walls were ripped to pieces like foil, and... and the white-haired guy! Blood was already soaking through his back, and the reporter. "Ha... ha... HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Luzia's laughter was weak at first, but as she processed what all just happened, she started laughing. She got hit right in the neck! She was done for! "How's it feel?! How's it feel to be fucking terrified?!" Under her mask, Luzia grinned gleefully, watching the woman crawl and panic, searching desparately for something to stem the bleeding. It wasn't a sight she hadn't seen before, and it was so... wonderful to see it again. Grenade, knife, quirk, it didn't matter... seeing someone like this... scared, terrified, bleeding out, wanting to do anything to save their life... it was so good... it was a feeling no drug could replicate. This was payback for having a good life!
Yeah... yeah it was~.
Letting out a soft, deranged she agreed with the voice in her head as the white-haired boy tried to save the reporter's life, moving her eyes away and rubbing her ears as her hearing started to return. Wait, won't they get to that Yoshi Miwa bitch and leave me behind? Her eyes widened slightly as that thought made her way into her head. Would they? They've been nice to her so far... no, no, they would. They're fucking students! 'Heroes in training'... they wanted to ruin all of the fun she ever had! She just laughed, too! She shivered, suddenly feeling like she had painted a big neon target on her back, grimacing under her mask and backing away from everyone. She was going to kill them... she was, she really was going to kill every single last Yuuei kid! ...But she had to wait. She had to wait. She had to wait. The monster behind this had to die first! That way, she wouldn't die, and that way, she could kill them! Yeah....
She hated the thought of working with them, but she didn't have any choice... all she needed was an opening, though... one opening, and one less U.A. kid to worry about. She slowly backed away from the group, a hand gripping her knife tightly. She had tow ork with them, but that didn't mean she trusted them... they were after her now, they knew who she was, they saw her work on the news... they knew. She had to keep working with them, but now... they were after her. She had to keep her eyes on them now. Every single one of those bastards had happy lives, and they wanted to rub it in her face... no. She would survive. She would survive this and kill them all!
She growled, then turned away, only just enough; she had pulled herself towards the staircase that she had exploded, and while, for a split second, she smirked at seeing the damage she did to the metal walls of this utter hellhole... but that faded quickly when she saw another monster. This one was less hideous, though... Luzia's mind didn't need to blur it out, and thanks to that, she could see the thing's face. "YOU!" Luzia snarled, crouching down as she glared at the woman that had started this all, a misty, bubbly light radiating out from her forearms. "YOU DID THIS TO ME! I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" The light manipulator almost jumped down to challenge that bitch of a woman, but her paranoia saved her, quickly pointing out to her not only the fact that it was a two-story drop, but the fact that the woman, Yoshi, was pushing metal fucking shards out of her body as she healed. She growled at the woman, the creature as she realized her inferiority... which only mad her angrier, yelling in frustration again and slamming her fists on the floor.
"DAMNIT! I HATE YOU!"
What could she do? She had to kill her... had to kill her, had to kill her, kill her, kill her, kill, kill, kill, kill! But she couldnt! She wasn't strong enough... if it could survive an explosion like that... what could she do? Why?! Why was she always on the losing end?! Ember, that color bitch, fucking LIFE! She always lost! Always! What was she gonna do now?! Enemies down, enemies right beside her, enemies everywhere, always everywhere...
Her eyes constantly darted back towards the others, always keeping an eye on where exactly they were... always making sure they they couldn't sneak up on her, put a knife in her back... and she looked again at the reporter... and an idea hit her. She slowly stood up. Was it a good idea? She knew it would work, or it probably would, it happened before to her... accidentally, sure, but... would it be a good idea to say it here? With these U.A. kids?
"She's... she's dead, you know." Luzia spoke carefully, not moving from her spot, her eyes darting to everyone, and, occasionally, down to the creature-that-was-Yoshi, anything that moved, but her eyes falling on the reporter more than most. "Bleeding from the neck," she continued, "she'll die in a minute. Maybe less. That... that thing, that fucking thing... it was that bitch that forced us into this. She's protecting her. That voice in our heads." She held her hand to her head, as if to emphasize, or to soothe a headache from all of the mental stress... or both. "She survived that bomb. It ripped through the metal of this place and that... that thing survived it. We need a distraction." She paused there, running a hand over her mask, the red eyes glaring death at everyone she glanced to disappearing, fading away like a fine glowing mist. It made her seem just a little bit friendlier, right? Make her idea sound a little bit more appealing?
"Put all the scarves and bandages against it you want. Bleeding won't stop. Let her do something useful before she dies. So we can survive."

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures As the shockwave and the explosion resonated through the underground hallway, Naoru lost the ability to hear. With that came a familiar disorientation, and for a short moment, he though his own Aura gave up on him and broke in the middle of the mission, in the middle of a job, in the middle of protecting someone. All he heard was a shrieking ringing and the dull throbbing of his own blood in his ear. Something else tore through his senses, and then he could feel pain even before a metallic shard ploughed through his skin. The white Aura on his back was shredded, and that was the pain alarming him of something going incredibly wrong instead of the cut on his flesh. Gasping, unable to yell out in pain, Naoru’s world darkened when the sudden infliction resonated through the white substance that emanated from his pores. His nerves were alarming him of the damage, as if he couldn’t gauge it by himself. The ivory shroud surrounding him was shivering more than his own body as he struggled to keep it in place through the pain. If his ears were working, he could have heard Jeanne’s painful struggle before he saw it. But deafened by the explosion, Naoru was unprepared for the sight that awaited him when he opened his eyes. Blood. Blood was pouring through her fingers as she tried and failed to stop the bleeding at the base of her neck. Instead of being paralyzed, Naoru moved, pushing her on the floor, on her back and pushing his hand against the wound. Blood. Can he stop the bleeding? It was a horrible injury, and he didn’t even notice his labored breathing that matched Jeanne’s, even though he was not harmed. He wasn’t nearing death and bleeding out on the floor of a military facility. He was not a harmless, innocent civilian that needed protection from an explosion. He wasn’t... He wasn’t able to protect her, was he? Hah, serves me right.Eyes wide, he was staring at the struggling female helplessly. All he could do was to push on the wound with the heel of his hand, holding her in place with the other to prevent her from worsening the injury and quickening the bleeding. If she struggled too much, her condition would worsen. But he had no voice to tell her to calm down, to tell her that everything would be alright, because he didn’t know if that was true or not. Was there anyone who knew first aid? Was there anyone who had medical knowledge to keep her alive? Anyone?! He grit his teeth, and in an attempt to just do something, gathered part of his Aura around his hand to push with the solidified but soft substance instead. He couldn’t protect her. He couldn’t protect anyone. And Alicia is still down there, waiting. Can he do anything here at all? The only way I can protect them now, is by preventing them from turning into monsters.Like I did with mother.Naoru’s train of thoughts halted, as if time had stopped around a tsunami that was moments away from destroying a city. A female voice was pushing through to him, saying to abandon the dead reporter and just let go. His Aura on his back formed into spikes, into lances, standing above him like the legs of spiders or a mantis, pointing towards the pink-haired light-user, or anyone that tried to get closer and force him away from the injured civilian. The edges of his pristine white Aura darkened, gaining a grayish color, strongly contrasting the whiteness of it. “You take one step closer, and I will do something I might regret later.” His voice was a growl, almost animalistic as he kept the stress and the fear out of it, only leaving a furious edge and angry fire seeping through. While a voice was whispering to get rid of them all in order to protect the things he loved, he wasn’t sure how long he could keep his sanity and focus on just protecting. There was an instinct that wanted to take over and let lose, but he can’t let that happen. Not again! Again...? Let me out.“Go, if you want so much. But do not sacrifice another person for your own gain.” He pushed the words through gritted teeth as if it caused physical pain, as if he needed to climb a dam to just talk at all. It took so much more effort than he first thought. He had to focus. Focus on that wound he could feel under his Aura. It was big, and went straight through the reporter’s body. His Aura crawled towards her back right at the base of her neck, pouring under her to close the wound not only where the shard entered, but where it exited as well. Naoru could feel every shredded piece of flesh, every torn muscle under the touch of his Aura, and he used that feeling, that knowledge to try and close off the wound. The white, formless substance would push itself into it, closing it not only on the surface, but deep within as well. Naoru was visibly shivering, because seeing the wound and feeling it under his touch were two different things, and he wasn’t sure he could keep this up for long. His hands and Aura was already coated in her blood. He just wanted to save this one person at least. He could listen to the other thoughts running through him and kill everyone later. words: 927 @fluffy Luzia Gottschalk Kasey Setsuna kogami I am not in the mood to write, which is obvious from the non-existent quality of this post, but I could not hold the thread up any longer. The ringing. A pain to the others, offered silence for the girl. She did not hear the screams, or the boom. Her mind was focused to a singular thought, voices that ran through her mind. I can feel my energy ebbing away. I need to eat. I need to restore myself. The only ones I can eat are the people with me. I cannot eat the students, that'd defeat the purpose of coming here. She heard herself, her mind passing over a word she didn't even know. She needed energy. She needed to feed. More food, meant more power. More power, meant she could protect them all. To eat them, was to gain power, but to gain power was to destroy what she wanted to protect. The reporter looks tasty, I'm sure she'd give me a lot of energy. Or perhaps that crazy girl that almost blew us up..? She's dangerous to the ones I am trying to protect. I should eat her, too... Eat them both. Eat them all. She looked up, her own words growing tied to herself. She looked up from the ground, only to see Kogami having pulled the girl aside. If he was dealing with her, then he was going to keep her away. She turned to face the other white haired boy, only to see the reporter in pain, bleeding from both of their wounds. If they moved, blood would flow and they would die. If they stayed, the sweet honey juice would kill their minds. "I HAVE TO EAT." She thought to herself, giving into the thoughts, that was, until he spoke. "WE WILL EAT, WHEN WE HAVE KILLED THEM." Setsuna ordered her, "WE WILL DISMEMBER OUR TARGET." Death, chaos, carnage. All Setsuna wanted was to kill, and all Kasey wanted to do was to protect. Both of them were double edged blades, and both seemed to cut into themselves than others. Kasey picked herself up as Luzia made her way to the stairs. She couldn't see through the mask to see her expressions, but with the way her eyes darted around, she was sure she was no simple civilian. "One of us, ONE OF US, ONE OF USSSS." his voice hissed from her mask, the only sound to come from Kasey as she ran towards the girl. If she walked a line of darkness just as she, then to end a life wasn't going to be just by her hand. There wasn't a single objection from her, and by her rage, Kasey had to believe they were on the same page. Arms behind her, her hands, her fingers would extend into claws, growing only a few inches longer as she sprinted forward. Her ears deafened, Kasey listened only to the voice in her head. She she ran, her finger tips would extend and shape, each finger growing into a knife, a dagger to be broken from her and fall upon the ground. As she passed the masked girl, she leaped into the hole. She would set her feet upon the wall to stop the two story fall. Spinning her arms, she would throw another assortment of bones towards the stairwell, a small platform for people to jump on to slow and lessen the fall. But each step she was reciting a hymn, a prayer. From the ground to the next floor down. . . "Blessed is the maker that protects me. Blessed is the king that guides me. Blessed are those that follow me into the dark and from the light. May the kind kings and queens watch over me as I carry out destiny. Blessed is my hand to which life lives. Blessed is my blade, from which death dies. Blessed is my life. Blessed is their death." She turned to face the new beast. Her ears slowly regaining themselves. While the world was quiet, she was sure to do her task. From her hands, her bone claws remained. Her head encased in bone, her forehead showing a light before her to shine into the creature. Letters pressed to the back of her head. Her body suit hugging her skin from the heat of the fire. Blood stained her clothing. She looked into the beast, seeing only the monster for what it was. After all, that was how the world looked at her. "What the fuck do you want?" She would speak out to it. Her own mind had begin to rot. There was no such thing was rational thought anymore. ~ Word Count: 750 ~ |

Regardless of the fact that he wasn't able to do much, Kogami felt that he did one thing right at least. If there was a moment or window for him to act appropriately, he would have taken it if it also benefited for him to help others as well. The grenade trick that the woman went through was something unnatural, or even borderline crazy. However, it wasn't Kogami's style to just leave her in such a situation with a possibly spoiled ankle. They have all been comrades towards the same goal of stopping the mind control quirk user, the cure itself was in the hands of another group.
"Ack!"
Kogami's ears were ringing heavily, it was as if someone continued to press the doorbell with no sign of their finger ever laying off. The noise of that was one of the worse things that could happen in unison with the voice that continued to silently whisper on Kogami's head. The madness that felt like Kogami was in a borderline brain scrambler alien flick, he was doing everything he could in order to push himself
"I have to keep it together, I haven't nearly done as much as the others. If I fall here, I'm just......"
He would just be a burden to them. He knew it, and even with the quirk that he had that Kogami felt was powerful at times, and maybe not so strong in other instances, how could it be that he was the only one whose quirk never really contributed to anything? Even if they were to survive this situation, in the efforts of self-reflecting upon this situation, would he be dead in the water again? This was definitely the worst case imaginable, dealing with both his doubts and the emergency of being apart of the team that others were counting on.
But tragedy once fell upon the group when the reporter got injured.
"Oh no............ she's bleeding...... but we don't have time to waste here so a quick bandage until we get out of this place might be for the best. "
Kogami had half the mind of taking off his own shirt to rip and use it as a cloth, but a strange interaction started to occur, the woman with the light quirk said to abandon the reporter.
But why?
She was a civilian, didn't it mean to be a hero to protect those who can't protect themselves? Civilians were included in that as well, right? They needed to have some hope that they could save at least one person. But knowing Kogami's style, he would listen and watch for the moment, that's all he's been doing for the most part.
At that time, it hit like a hundred fire ants constantly poking and prodding in his mind. For some reason, Kogami felt more depressed, he felt more useless than ever before. He thought he would be betrayed by these people, that it was all just a ruse in order to sacrifice him.
"That woman.....shes changed!!!!"
Seeing the culprit that started all of this in the first place, the quirk hater ended up falling victim to what she despised the most. She became something different, and unfortunately, it rotted away the rest of her mind. Fighting was out of the question, and the least they could do is temporarily damage her. Looking at the shards itself from the fragments, they seemed to ease themselves out rather slowly. At the moment, Kogami thought of that mutated woman to be unbeatable, and they didn't have time to waste either.
"Sacrifice her!!!!! That woman may be crazy, but she's right!! Abandon her and leave her to rot to the crazed beast!!!!!!"
The sickening voice in his own head was nothing more than a combination of the quirk effects on his mind and his own fear. They seemed to work well together in order to deter the young student, and he was even considering it. He felt himself falling, his grip was slipping on his own sanity if he had nothing to grasp onto.
He needed something, anything!!! Anything to think about that could definitely allow him to make the right choice! He couldn't do it on his own, it wasn't working!!!
"We.....we should....."
With tensions high and in the face of peril, Kogami was about to say something he was going to regret.
However, that was before he ended up thinking about a girl.
She was just a friend, but she ended up being one of the first friends he ever made in the school.
"Miku..... "
Miku thought he was cool and Kogami never wanted to admit it, but it made him happy. There were plenty of other times before this that he felt heroic, the incident at the zoo, the time when another quirk user was holding citizens hostage against their will when they wanted to leave. He rallied Miku and Nyke to his side, and even though they couldn't do much, they did the best that they could in order to help people in need.
He didn't have much else to think about, but he wanted to be a good example, he wanted to take responsibility and commit to the actions that he made. That feeling of responsibility, the feeling of wanting his friends to look upon or think of him fondly, somehow, it was enough to keep his pother feelings of dread at bay.
"Guys, I'll stay behind and hold off the monster. There is a lot to think about here, Yoshi Miwa might be mutated now, but if we stop the quirk user in time in the last floor and with the cure coming in, there could be a chance to revert her. In that case, we can properly hand her off to the authorities and get her to testify against the military's illegal quirk experimentation. We don't have to worry about her getting hurt from what we can see, but in this case, the person with the most mobility should be the one to distract and deter. My quirk is the best choice for that..."
Looking to Luzia, Kogami smiled at her.
"I like you, I'm hoping that in the future, you won't be so quick to sacrifice people. But with your leg, you should head off to the end with the others. "
He doubts she would change, but he weighed in on her anyway.
Looking to Naoru and the quirk he was using in order to heal the reporter, if it was safe and Naoru could sense that Kogami meant no harm to either of them, the young student would walk past him and nodded.
"It would have to be enough... my new friend, you'll have to carry her the rest of the way and run.. if possible."
And finally, Kogami would take off the scarf and hand it to Kasey.
"Remember that note? Maybe something could be jogged in the memories or.....something......, try it. You have a versatile quirk, even though I don't understand it. I know you thought about killing, but if a chance comes to maybe save this person, I'm trusting you to make the right choice, whatever it may be. The other three are injured, making you and me the ablest, but if possible, you should be the ones to finish this. If you need help rationalizing this, I know you'll be back, so I'm just buying you time. "
That was enough of that, Kogami stepped away from the group in order to be in line with Yoshi Miwa somewhat, solidifying balls of air consecutively with his free hands and tossing it at Yoshi Miwa, one after another. It was meant to be aggressive and distracting to get the newly Yoshi Miwa in order to chase after him.
His line of Sight could also be used to tow Kogami around with the same method, so this was nothing more than game of cat and mouse for his life. But he wasn't going to give up.
"Come on! Over here!!"
Each ball was strong enough to damage bronze. Even if Yoshi Miwa could heal, he was hoping to anger her and get her away from the others to clear a path. At the same time, Kogami was anticipating her movements to To around his opponent and continue to get he attention.
No one else made a decision, nothing worth them sacrificing themselves for. Thinking of Miku helped, and maybe he wanted to thank her.
But it didn't make sense to Kogami anyway, and he would probably never get a chance to.
"Over here! If you want it to stop, you have to come get me!"

From here on out, we will be rolling for your remaining sanity. Orders and such will be given to you all individually in PMs should your sanity be lost. As more time passes, the risk of going insane increases. Hurry up!! WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The pool of blood gathering underneath Jeanne was, to her, strangely comfortable. It was warm and soft, while it felt like her own body grew colder and colder. Naoru Kehai had somewhat managed to stop the bleeding, at least temporarily, even if it came at the cost of sensing every little inch of the wound, every torn muscle fibre, all of it. With this new found comfort, lying in her own blood, Jeanne's own insanity had kicked in. Relaxing, as if on a silken bed, the dark haired reporter was hardly moving. Simply breathing calmly while humming a relaxing tune. A bedtime tune, sung in France by her mother when Jeanne had still been a little girl. Even so, admist the tune, she was still gargling. The reporter was completely unaware of the horrific situation that was unfolding around her at this point. Vision blurry, she simply enjoyed where she had been placed in life. This was completely fine. Perhaps Jeanne could take a good long rest there on the floor..? That didn't sound too bad. Eyes closing, the reporter slipped away into a comatose state. The loss of blood claiming her consciousness.
Down below, the monstrocity was raging still, unable to truly find the source of her pain. The metal fragments that had gotten stuck in her body were dropped to the floor as the wounds healed. It was at about this time that Kogami dropped through the hole from the staircase, down into the fourth floor, where Yoshi was located. The angry creature immediately aggroed onto Kogami. It was very clear that he had not needed make any sound or otherwise to get Yoshi's attention. The woman was completely feral, attacking everything and everyone on sight. Two large, glaring, orange eyes stared at the boy as the creature rushed at him. The boy's attacks hardly had more effect than twisting the creatures body ever so slightly where it imapcted. Perhaps aiming for every creatures weak spots could have more effect. Eyes, ears, nose. Disorient, blind, daze. Attempting to overpower Yoshi Miwa at this point, was like attempting to stand against a freight train. Chances were you'd go splat.
The woman lifted both of her massive arms above her head, leaving Kogami practically nowhere to flee to. Someone else would have to come to an efficient support role, otherwise his provocation of Yoshi Miwa would lead to him getting pounded into the ground. An outcome that'd have a risk of outright killing the purple haired boy. In these moments however, the woman was completely fixated onto Kogami, leaving Kasey all the room in the world to do her thing - though she'd have to act fast...
If the others continued down the staircase to the final floor, they'd find the heart of the facility. An oval room, with a glass box in the middle. Inside the glass box, was a small girl, strapped to a patients bed. One of the old ones you could typically find in mental asylums or otherwise. Unable to move, she was completely defenseless. The glass walls had several dentures. Likely from Yoshi Miwa having attempted to smash through the glass to get to and protect the queen. The bulletproof glass had held up fairly well. Aside from some white discoloring, a bit of the glass having essentially been powdered, the little makeshift prison was intact. On the floor, in different parts of the room, were several dead researchers. Their torsoes essentially squished into the ground, the result of massive fists pounding them. Besides one of them was a keycard, matching a terminal by the wall. Lockdown controls....
They had reached the final stage. They had decisions to make. They were already losing their sanity. Would they attempt to reason with Alicia, proving to her that they were not a threat, attempting to make her stand down on her offensive against their minds...? Did they even have the time to attempt such a solution..? Or would they claim the life of a defenseless girl. Strapped down, mistreated, suffering, all so they themselves had a better chance at survival..?
Tick Tock, Tick Tock.

In her mind, it was sensible suggestion; the reporter got caught in the neck. She knew what bleeding from the neck was like... it was a quick death. So much blood came out so quickly it was almost impossible to live from it. She wasn't even being useful!
She instantly, knew, though, that she was suggesting this to the wrong people. Luzia blinked when that wavy... energy around the white-haired guy suddened turned into spikes, then froze when they turned into even bigger spikes. A chill went down her spine as he turned to her, walking up to her on giant spider legs and glaring down at her. Her heart froze in her chest, gulping nervously as the white-haired boy glared her down. By force of habit, she instinctively shrunk away from him, making herself smaller, less threatening, less worthy of attention.
“You take one step closer, and I will do something I might regret later."
He paused, and, while Luzia kept her eyes away from him, daring not to challenge him with eye contact, she narrowed her eyes under her mask.
"Go, if you want so much. But do not sacrifice another person for your own gain.”
He practically growled at her, and Luzia grit her teeth, but she didn't growl back; she scoffed quietly when his attention was away from her. Damned hero... why bother trying to save someone when their lives were quickly running out?! That was stupid! She groaned, the voices in her head shifting, saying more, but different nonsense, making it even harder to think.
She held her head, gritting her teeth, scratching heavily at her scalp. Alone... alone alone alone alone alone always alone! Some other person was making some sort of speech, but Luzia was writhing inside of her mind, her hate and her fear and her anger growing as she was reminded that she was alone, always alone! Even when someone liked her, they were just pretending! They had to be pretending! Why would they leave her if they weren't?!
She lifted her head when someone suddenly moved past her, seeing the purple-haired girl rush past, throwing stuff into the wall to make steps. At least someone was being helpful, at least, she thought. She growled, pulling her hands away from her head, unknowingly pulling several strands of hair with them as she glared down at the thing that military woman used to be. She wanted to kill her... she wanted to kill her, she wanted to see her blood pool on the ground, she wanted to feel a blade stab into that woman's fucking body over and over and over and over and over and over and over... but damnit, she wasn't strong enough! She was never strong enough! She growled, snarling under her breath, feeling the urge, the need for something... booze, cigarettes, crack, she didn't care what, she needed something... she didn't even fucking have anything with her!
"I like you."
Luzia froze once again, but this time from surprise than fear, her snarling stopping as she suddenly had to look at the purple-haired guy.
"I'm hoping that in the future, you won't be so quick to sacrifice people. But with your leg, you should head off to the end with the others."
She stared at him in shock as he said that to her, then jumped down with the bone girl to fight Yoshi. For a second, she just blinked, but then she narrowed her eyes, hissing under her breath long after he was out of earshot, "Liar." He didn't care about her. He didn't know her. He didn't know her name, he didn't even know her face. He was lying right to her face, saying he liked her when he knew nothing about her.
She glared under her mask as he joined the bone girl in distracting Yoshi, the woman that deserved all the knife thrusts that she could have mustered. But, as much as she hated it, she also knew that the woman was way too strong. She hated, she loathed it, but she had to wait to make that woman pay. She squeezed her hands tight, always hating that feeling, but at this point, used to it as well. Luzia looked over towards the white-haired boy, and seeing that he was distracted with the reporter woman, decided to move on.
It was hard doing, with her sprained ankle, but she managed to get down the bone staircase, avoiding the combat between the damn military woman and the two purple-haired people fighting her, at least for now, and carried herself down the hall. The light of the fire quickly faded, leaving only the light of her own neon to guide her through the darkness. Soon enough, though, more light greeted her; she continued to glow, but her pinks and reds were blotted out just a little bit by the flickering hum of a barely-working series of florescent lights, most of which destroyed or just not working.
The first thing she saw was a bunch of bodies, each as bloody and as flattened as the last, but her eyes just glazed over them. They were a sight she could handle; they were just beat the fuck up, they weren't mutated. She had seen stuff like that plenty of times, and some of them were done by her... well, something like this anyway. She didn't bother to look over them, not when the center of the room had something less normal. As soon as her eyes hit the little glass room, she flinched, holding her head as all of a sudden, a thousand voices started screaming, every single one meshing into one unbearable crowd, drowning out her thoughts. So many voices, all saying nothing, all screaming at her! She groaned in pain, the screaming so painful that she stumbled, nearly losing her balance from the voices, but she caught herself, looking up and glaring at the glass.
Xezo. She was there. She didn't need any confirmation. The thing was making the voices louder. It knew, it knew that she was there. Under her mask, she grit her teeth, unsheathing her blade as her anger boiled... but she stopped herself from just blindly running forward. The thing was behind glass... tough glass. Something tried to hit it, but she didn't know what, she couldn't. The screaming, the goddamn screaming... thinking was so hard. Too hard...
Door. Door somewhere. There. Glass door. Locked. Key?
She looked around. Key somewhere. Where? Where?! Her eyes narrowed, her brain getting just... overloaded with all of the screaming, trying desperately to quickly find what she needed in this godforsake hellhole. A reflected glint caught her eye, a bit of green reflecting her neon and changing its color slightly. Card. Key? She grabbed it, looking around before limping over a panel displaying 'Lockdown Controls'. That had to be it. Keycard and key, right?
The screaming. The yelling. Thinking was so hard. She had to end it. End it. She inserted the card, and the screen blinked in response. All of a sudden, a flash of anger burst out, the think asking for confirmation or something. She wanted it open! OPEN DAMNIT! She let out a yell of frustration, slamming both fists on the screen, only baring stopping herself from letting her quirk out and shattering it entirely. Somehow or another, it worked; accidentally pressing the confirmation button or something, she heard the door behind her slowly open with a little woosh.
Luzia gazed over her shoulder as it did, and a measure of relief filled her. Almost there. Kill. End. Kill. End. Kill. End. Survive. She pulled away from the screen.
Kill. End. Kill. Survive.
Every step closer to the thing. Every. Step. The voices got louder. Louder. Louder.... She could barely think. She didn't want to anyway. She didn't want to die. Not dying didn't need thinking. She just had to move. Move. Kill. End. Kill. Survive. Her mind. Almost gone. She could feel it. She didn't want to disappear. She wanted to be. Every step was so hard. The voices tried to drown her out. She clawed for every thought she could. She wanted to be. She wanted to stay. She was so scared. So angry. So afraid. She grabbed the edge of the door. Her mind. All the screaming. It was so hard. She had to stop it. She had to stop everything. She had to end it. She had to kill it. She had to end it. She had to run from being erased.
She dragged herself over to the bed, loking down at Xezo. No study. No sympathy. That required thought. Too much. She had to end it. Xezo was tied down. Xezo was there. That's all she needed. She had to end it. She had to kill it. She had to survive it. Luzia stared down at the girl, slowly lifting her knife. She was so angry... but she was more afraid. She didn't care if this was a little girl. She didn't care if she was defenseless. She didn't notice. Noticing required thinking. Too hard, so hard to think. Her knife was above her head. She stared down at Xezo She had to stop her. She didn't want to die. She didn't want to disappear. She didn't want to fade away.
Kill. End. Kill. Survive.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures Every torn fiber, all the shredded flesh, all the pouring blood, Naoru could feel all of it through his Aura that was sensitive enough to find its way into the reporter’s wound to prevent further bleeding. It was maybe thanks to the adrenaline, or something else entirely that the shock didn’t make him black out right on the spot. Her humming barely reached Naoru’s mind, it was the background music for a requiem, a spooky child rhyme with the undertone of rushing blood. It did no good for his already tried mind, but the tune quieting down and the reporter closing her eyes was worse. “No. No, stay awake. Do not close your eyes.” He told her softly, shaking her shoulder just slightly, but it was no use. She lost consciousness, and he didn’t know anymore if she was alive or not. How was he supposed to know if she was alive, or not? His head dropped just slightly. Was it really no use? Was he really so weak that he couldn’t keep one innocent civilian safe? What was the point of going to hero school when he couldn’t do the one thing he was designed to do? What was the point, if he couldn’t save others? Jeanne was unconscious, dying there on the floor of a military building because he couldn’t shield her well enough from shrapnel. He couldn’t even feel the pain on his back anymore. That physical pain was nothing compared to what the reporter went through. And he couldn’t---- There is still one person he could save. That is right! He could save Alicia! There is still time! Naoru raised his head, staring ahead. That’s right. He still had ‘hope’ to do the right thing. Raising his Aura just slightly from his upper body, he removed his black button-up shirt to shred it into makeshift bandages. He couldn’t stay with Jeanne, and he wasn’t sure she could be saved anymore, but... he had to exchange his Aura that plugged her wound with something else. As he slowly removed his Aura, he replaced it with the cloth balled into a knot to then fasten it across her shoulder, around her neck, and under her armpit to hold. It won’t be as effective as his Aura holding the whole wound, but it was still better than leaving the wound completely open and unattended. He raised himself up. Part of his Aura settled back around his now naked upper body that showed a long-healed scar on his chest and the freshest one across his back from the titanium shard. His Aura hid it all, small part of it forming into a makeshift coat as if he was wearing a white jacket now, the syringe he took before still secured in a manifested inside pocket. He took one last glance at the reporter’s calm, quiet form, bowed deep, not even flinching from the pain that shot through the wound on his back, then turned around and headed down the hallway, down where the others went. He knew who was the most dangerous when it came to the poor girl. Kogami was a hero like him, willing to save others, no matter the cost. Kasey, though unique, could be reasoned with, and she did promise to keep the students safe. But that pink-haired light user... She wanted to throw Jeanne to the wolves if it meant she could escape an unbeatable fight. She was the most dangerous. He reached the hole in the floor and jumped down, grabbing ledges and remainders of the floor and railings with his Aura and hands respectively. With his level of acrobatic ability, he could reach the bottom floor quickly and with relative ease. The pain on his back was not registered, and in turn, did not hinder his movements. At least he did not notice it hindering his movements at all. He did bump into the walls and the broken staircase once, but all it did was shake him once before he regained his footing once again and continued down. His left eye itched, and he rubbed at it, and when he stopped, the feeling eased already, as if something that hold his vision back was gone now. His hand found its way to his scalp as well, tearing into the soft feathers without worry as he knew they would grow back faster and stronger than the hair. He only caught a glimpse of Yoshi Miwa and the other people of his team there as he passed by. He paid them no mind, though he had to wonder how she turned into such a beast. As far as he could remember, she was not around when all of them were sprayed with the liquid, modified QED from the sprinklers in the tent. But there was so much he didn’t know. There was so much that was still hidden. She might have gotten into contact with the substance down here, for all he knew. But she turned into such a monster so fast that it was a wonder why all of them were still... Something halted that train of thought, as if a gentle hand reached out and told him it was okay. They were still okay. But he couldn’t let anyone kill today. No more killing. No more death. His feet touched the ground on the lowest floor, and he looked around at the bodies as if on autopilot. He forced himself not to look and not to think about it as he stepped through carefully not to disturb their peace. The low visibility didn’t bother him, as his Aura was out and about to feel the surroundings even as the lights above were flickering when he passed by. It didn’t take long for him to reach the oval room where Alicia was hold, but by that time, the pink-haired light user already had the door of the glass box open. He could see the glint of a blade, and that was enough for him to move. He rushed forward, Aura forming into ropes mid-movement already. She seemed fixated enough on the tiny body strapped to the bed to not notice him in time. If all went well, he could do what he planned to. His aim was clear as day: he would bind the light-user’s arms by the wrists and her legs by the ankles with his Aura. He didn’t exactly know which of her legs were injured, but he knew that a strong squeeze to either might cause her to be unbalanced, and in that case, he would be able to get her away from the experimental bed, and out of the glass box. Away from Alicia. The blade had to go, most of all. Even if he couldn’t bind the light-user, he would surely snatch the knife, hitting it out of her grasp so she won’t be able to use it for a killing blow. “I told you. Do not sacrifice others for your own gain.” If she turned his way, she would notice his left eye was different, disfigured, black where it was supposed to be white, and red where it was supposed to be grey. He rubbed the contact-lens that hid that part of his mutation out of his eye while he descended to the final floor. His stark white Aura had blotches of grey and black just like when he turned on her, when she wanted to sacrifice the reporter so they could go forward. There were a few spots of red as well where the reporter’s blood still remained on the solid form of his quirk. If he managed to bind and drag her away from Alicia, they would exchange places, Naoru heading toward her bed instead. “What good would killing her do to you? That is just taking the easy way out, that is just what a coward would do. I will not let you kill.” He wanted to help Alicia. He needed to give her the contents of the syringe and save her. He needed to save her, and this light-user certainly didn’t make that job easy at all. “She suffered too much, and for that, she deserves a second chance, just like everyone else in the world.” Under his Aura on his back, blood was already seeping out from the wound that the titanium shrapnel caused. His healing factor wasn’t fast enough yet to deal with that. It was a wonder he could move as effectively as he did, but determination could take a person a long way. MADE BY VEL OF GS

He passed her the scarf, and in that instance, that moment, Kasey's mind drifted away to the cafe. Kyoko. Her sister's roommate and greatest friend, or so it seemed. Anytime one of them were in their group chat, so was the other. The pyramid. Without Osiris, it fell, and Anubis was lost, and Thoth was left alone. But that meeting was what put them together. That box of belongings, that box of her clothing and random trinkets. That... scarf. She snapped back to reality, taking it, and in an instant, tossing it behind her. "WE WILL EAT THIS BEAST." Setsuna thought, tossing aside possibly a useful tool. But in this battle, it had no purpose. It was something for the others to use if they chose to. But that was not her problem. She looked back at the beast, only to find her focusing on the student. "HEY, I WAS FUCKING TALKING TO YOU."She crossed her arms over her chest. From both humerus, needles would pierce her biceps. Darts, needles and other long sharp objects would be in her hands, and all of them tossed towards Yoshi's face. It was rude to ignore someone who was speaking to you. She would aim for the face, with her real target being the eyes. She was trying to blind the beast, which could result in her being more unpredictable, but would at least give them some breathing room. She would begin to run at the woman, recklessly and without a real plan. her weapons in her hand, she would run at the beast, trying to cut and slice away at anything and everything she could. Everything she could. But was it enough? Was it ever enough? ___ . . . "Sis, Bubbles says he wants to go outside.""We are not allowed to. You heard what mother and father said.""But he wants to play in the rain, Rena.""If you go in the rain, you will get sick. If you get sick, you will have to stay home."The both of them held onto the stuffed animals in front of them. One held a black wolf, while the other a simple bear. Both girls mirrored each other with their vibrant pink hair. Their dresses were white with light blue lace. They were almost identical, almost. Both of them bore red horns, but one had hers much larger than the other. The one with the shortest stubs, wore a crown, while her sister did not. "I don't wanna get sick! They mom and dad will go again!" the crowned one said. "They will." The girl continued to play with her wolf. "They'll leave me all alone here again with the maid!""They will."". . . Will you leave me too, Rena?""I will never leave you, Cherry."___ Today, she had to fight for all of them. She had to fight for the heroes, the students, the girl, the reporter, and for herself. She fought for Japan, for the millions of people who could be victim to this virus. She fought. Most importantly, she fought for her sister, a girl she promised to never let be alone. A girl she vowed to protect. But years apart, separated for nearly a decade. Was it enough? Was it ever enough? ~ Word Count: 548 ~ |

Kogami started to take into account that the majority of his attacks weren't doing any good. They made a few dents here and there, but he was unable to really handle with the raging beast that was yoshi miwa. It would have been funny if Kogami was the one that was holding back and restraining himself from using his true strength. If that was ever the case, now would be the time for those make-believe muscles to come into effect so that he can actually do something productive for the sake of everyone else. However, what he did notice that the person that he entrusted with the scarf, she also jumped down in order to fight the creature.
Kogami could notice that her intentions were genuine, but he wondered who was going to have the scarf in the end. There was only two people, Naoru, and the troublesome girl who Kogami still felt like she needed a little help to find her way. Even though Kogami might have had the patience, the current state of affairs might make things a little difficult for them to work together, Kogami didn't know what was exactly in that room.
As for Yosi Miwa, With the distractions, no matter how small, Kogami also created a bigger ball of solidified in one of his palms and tossed it into the face of Yoshi Miwa, not only doing damage to a sensitive spot but pushing the sprayed needles even further into the face of Yoshi. Afterward, Kogami would athletically tow himself in another direction to give himself some spacing and be a few feet away from Kasey.
"But what about the scarf? Who has it right now?"
He didn't know anything from what was going on, but he hoped that this wouldn't be the end for the two of them.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Unparallelled fury coursed through the beast of a woman, Yoshi Miwa, as another contestant had entered the arena. That woman didn't matter yet. First, Kogami would have to be turned into red paste. It was all for the same reason. To protect Alicia, protect Alicia, protect Alicia. The girl was scared, and the commands, begging for assistance, was sent to those under her control. Calling them to her. In the complete focus on twatting Kogami into red paste, Yoshi Miwa had ignored Kasey. Which had proved to be a horrible mistake. The needles of bone bore into the flesh and skin of the best, temporarily blinding her. Shrieking in fury, the beast was still tunneling towards Kogami, who for whatever reason, had chosen not to move immediately, instead channeling some kind of attack. So, while Kogami's attack did in fact land, causing the bone shards to tunnel deeper and deeper into the beasts skull, causing yet another howl of fury, anguish pain and suffering to leave Yoshi Miwa, he wasn't quick enough to simultaneously pull himself to safety. Fortunately for him however, the monstrocity had been blinded. Thus, instead of turning Kogami into red paste on the floor, an enormous flailing hand struck him sideways to the chest. Several of his ribs would break. He would find significant trouble breathing normally, let alone continue fighting. However, as dire as things were, he was still alive, and he had still bought precious moments for the final confrontation downstairs to reach a conclusion. After striking one target, with blood gushing from her eyes, Yoshi Miwa was trying to locate the one she hadn't struck. Considering Kogami out of comission, the one she was now gunning for was Kasey. The bitch that had created the needles. Listening carefully, Yoshi Miwa was trying to quiet her breathing and groans of anguish. Listen to where that bone biting bitch was. Protect Alicia. Kill them. Kill them all! If Kasey didn't make any noise, there was the risk that Yoshi Miwa would hear Kogami's troubled breathing. Effectively, they were only sacrifices to a beast they could not stop. To stop it, the situation down below had to be dealt with. Time was ticking, their lives hanging in the balance...Alicia was screaming in fear, as Luzia was the one to appear, wielding the knife, prepared to kill her. Tugging at the, constraints, she was wiggling from side to side, attempting to free herself, attempting everything she could to survive. Every action the young girl took, spoke a clear language. I want to live. I want to live. I don't want to die. I am so scared, don't kill me! It was hopeless. Compared to the monstrocity a single floor above them, thrashing about, causing great destruction with every stride... Alicia was a simple, regular girl. There wasn't anything threathening about her. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary. In fact, to some, the girl may have even seemed cute, if not encountered under these dire circumstances... So what would Naoru and Luzia do to resolve their conflict..? It certainly seemed that the immediate attempt at taking Alicia's life would cause any attempt at communication to go down the drain...Somewhere upstairs, another member had joined their party, rushing in to their assistance. Someone with a clear goal, someone with a clear desire to help. Abel Emeriss, carrying several small antidotes from the other party. On his knees by his sister, he carried with him military equipment from the other camp. A riot shield, a vest, a helmet. Yet he also clearly wore the camera that they had seen him with earlier, making him fairly easy to identify. His first task, was ensuring that his dearest sister wouldn't perish. The girl barely had a pulse at this point, her blood spilled on the floor in a pool that was... far too big to be healthy. Utilizing the medical kit he also carried, he managed to press a bandage against the wound. Managed to fasten it, to do everything in his power to help... With the fighting going on down below, the boy couldn't help but have a desperate notion in his head. How could they have simply left her?! Lifting her up over his shoulder, he left the antidotes on the floor. If they were so prepared to leave behind someone so innocent, then they would have to sort the mess themselves. No longer did Abel have any vested interest in protecting or aiding them. "I've left antidotes up here. The other group was successful. I'm leaving with my sister, she needs medical attention, immediately. Fuck you. Fuck you all for leaving Jeanne behind to die!!!" Furious, Abel carried his sister upwards towards the surface...
...He didn't care if the remainder of the group made it out alive. He had done his part, leaving behind four blue syringes containing a life saving liquid. The world would know which kind of heroes these kids were. Abel and Jeanne had left, in all due haste.

Gone. Done. Gone. Done. Survived. Killed. Gone. Done. Win.
Mind frayed. Desperation. Fear, fear, fear, fear, fear. Nothing but fear, voices, voices, fear.
Under different circumstances, things might have been different. Luzia might have noticed that she was just a little girl. She might have noticed that she was helpless. She might have noticed that she was cute, that she was scared, that she was in a metal hospital bed... she might have noticed that that was the exact kind bed that she used to sleep in. She might have noticed that she could have seen some of herself in this girl.
But no. She just held the knife over her head, a desperate grin of survival, of seeing the finish line and reaching for it, hidden by her mask. She was going to stop it all. She was going to end this monster. She was going to survive!
"Guh?!"
Knife gone. Rope around wrist. Rope?
Luzia went wide-eyed when her arms were suddenly bound over her head. Even in her state, though, she could tell it wasn't normal rope, whirling towards the door. Ione fluid movement, she was falling; all she saw was white as the knife was ripped out of her hand and something at her ankles tugged, forcing her to the ground with a grunt of pain, hissing as her sprained ankle screamed at her from being tugged that. She ignored the pain, though, looking up and gasping.
“I told you. Do not sacrifice others for your own gain.”
She gulped, a shiver going through her as habit forced her to look away. She didn't even think; her body moved before she could even, breaking eye contact with him once again, just to seem meeker, just to avoid his wrath. But, just as she did, she narrowed her eyes, and looked back at him, struggling against him when he dragged her away.
"NO! NO NO NO! WE HAVE TO KILL HER! THAT'S HOW WE'LL SURVIVE!"
Anger frothed through every word, but, between each syllable, fear slipping its tentacles out for all to see. There was no hiding her emotions anymore. Xezo was right there! One swing of the knife would end it! "ONE SWING! ONE SWING AND WE'LL BE OKAY!"
No. No no no no no no no NONONONONO! She couldn't let it end like this! They were so close! It would be so easy to survive! She didn't care about his words, they were dumb, they were fucking STUPID! Why not take the easy way? THEY WERE TRYING TO LIVE! Why did that monster deserve a second chance?! What did she do?!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Luzia screamed at the top of her lungs, fury boiling as she crawled over to him. She had to do something, anything to stop him, so she could end in. Panic, fear, desperation clouded her mind. All she could think of was lifting her mask, just a little. Just enough. Just enough for her to crawl over to him, and bite his leg as hard as she could. His foot was too protected. His leg. His leg would have to do.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures The knife was abandoned, thrown out of the glass box and into a corner away from the masked girl with the murderous intent. He couldn’t let her have such a dangerous toy to play with, not around Alicia. He couldn’t let her kill. Squeezing the Aura ropes around her ankles and pulling with a might, he tripped the evil opponent onto the floor and pulled her away as much as he was able to. He stared at her after talking, after saying that she shouldn’t kill at all. He saw no point in her actions, because really, Alicia had to stay alive. What was the point if she died as a sacrifice for their lives? Such a scared girl needed protection and reassurance that she was still welcomed in this world, and she had a place to keep living in. He had to protect her. Protect Alicia! No matter the cost! Ah, this masked person was in the way of that. But she seemed to be afraid now, which was a good sign. Yes. Fear will stop actions, it is good if she is afraid. That means she won’t try to kill Alicia again, and that is exactly what he needed right now. Nothing else mattered. There were no other people getting injured in this building, there were no other people bleeding out on the floor. There was only Alicia, who had to live. "NO! NO NO NO! WE HAVE TO KILL HER! THAT'S HOW WE'LL SURVIVE! ONE SWING! ONE SWING AND WE'LL BE OKAY!"The rope holding down her ankles hardened and grew spikes to try and pierce through her skin and into her flesh, to draw blood. Maybe that will shut her up. If not, there would be another tiny lance made of Aura ready to pierce through her shin into more flesh. She had to learn to know her place and keep quiet until Alicia was free. Didn’t this masked person know that she wasn’t important at all? Protect Alicia! Protect Alicia! Kill them---! He wouldn’t care about her scream, about her desperation, because it was Alicia that needed to live, and not anyone else. It was her, that--- NO! Pain shot through him as the masked girl bit into his ankle hard, and he could hear something snap not within his body but within his mind as the pain resonated through his nerves, his Aura, and right into his brain to wake something up that was pushed to the side for minutes now. Gasping, as if he had just resurfaced from below vast and dark waters, he fell to his knees in front of the masked person. No! He was shaking, trying to get his bearings while cracks like spider-webs tangled into his Aura throughout his body. The nearly emotionless mask he was wearing fell down to give way to the horror and fear behind. A shaky hand, his left one, the one made of Aura that was ready to shatter in any moment, reached out to touch this other person’s shoulder. “Thank you. And.” He glanced at the pain and the possible wound he might have inflicted on her, and his face contorted in empathy upon what he saw there. He regretted it. He regretted it so much. “I am sorry.” It was no forgiveness he asked for, but he wanted her to know he was sorry. He left an innocent civilian up there to bleed out, and the haphazardly placed shirt as a bandage was no comfort. He passed down onto this floor without a care to what happened to the other two of his teammates. He bound, pained and injured the third one without hesitation. He regretted so many things he did in the last few minutes, but he wanted to do at least one thing right. Let me do just one thing right before I---. He stood up with a swiftness that he didn’t often show off, such a swiftness that would make the masked person let his ankle go if she didn’t want her teeth to have lasting damage. He had to do this fast before the pain in his Aura would subside and give way for another command that he wouldn’t want to do. Protect Alicia? He had his own way of doing that. As if two, or more like, three different minds were fighting for dominance inside the body that was supposed to harbor only one, Naoru’s grasp on reality and his own abilities was nearing its end. The ropes that were holding Luzia crumbled down slowly, the surface chipped as if it was white marble breaking down to its particles. Naoru reached into his Aura-coat’s inner pocked to remove the syringe, pull off the needle’s protective coating, and pierce it into the struggling Alicia’s arm, to inject her with its contents. That was all he was able to do before the whole of his Aura shattered into stardust around, leaving Luzia completely free. Naoru, bleeding from his back, now shirtless, completely unprotected without his Aura and missing his left arm, fell on the floor, darkness nearly claiming him as its slave. He was losing consciousness rapidly, but it might be better than the alternative. He had no way to see if the contents of the syringe did any good for her. And with his Aura gone, with his consciousness slipping, he had no way to protect himself either. MADE BY VEL OF GS

"I could die here."It was a thought that perhaps everyone down there thought. Yoshi had it running in her mind as the experiment toyed with her. Xezo thought it as Luzia held the knife over her. The group saw the walls close in. The bull that charged at them. The explosive grenade. The newly formed and mutated Yoshi Miwa. All of them thought it, all of them wanted to live. But she didn't. She didn't want to live. But she didn't want to die. From the start, she had only one goal. She only had one plan. All she was going to do, was make sure no one else. She was going to make sure everyone went home. Those words did not cross her mind. It did not leave her lips. "I will die down here." she thought to herself. "As long as the children are safe." She let out a heavy sigh, leading herself to have a deep and loud inhale of breath. "No one will remember me. Any maybe, that's just how it should be."She crossed her arms once more. Her hands gliding over the sides of her forearms are needles again pierced her skin, her suit holding her skin together to ease the many small incisions. She was not going to bleed out. She was smart this time. But for now, she was going to be the distraction, the decoy, the substitution. "HEY YOU BITCH, I'M OVER HERE." she would say, her right hand pulling a sword from the woven vines of marrow and cartilage. From her left, her forearm and her hand would be torn, bled, and shaped into a large shield. For now, she had to prepare herself. Her body encased in her own attire of bone armor, her right hand holding a blade made of her body. Her left hand again sacrificed to protect someone. She set the rectangular shield just as ancient Romans did, her blade at her side, as if she was going to be able to withstand the impact. When Yoshi neared, she would have to cast spikes from the shield, or drop it and flee. She needed a way out, she needed a back up plan. "KILL KILL KILLLL!" The voice of Setsuna called out, as if Kasey's own voice wasn't enough. "No! Here, we take our stand." she would say, but her thoughts would finish in her mind. "They only get one life. I've already lived out mine. They're just children..."But so was she. ~ Word Count: 418 ~ |

"Guohagagahhh!!" The sacrifice this time was Kogami making an attempt to blind the creature instead of fully committing to just escaping this time. He wanted to do something a little more relevant, he felt that he could possibly push his luck here and perhaps be able to cripple the beast for the moment. As long as he was able to do that, those seconds would have been enough for him to buy some time and be able to help the others in that sense.
But the sharp pain and the breaking of his ribs was a but great for the younger boy to handle. Maybe if he was preparing for it or prepping for it with a solidified air wall, it wouldn't have been as devastating. However, Kogami failed in that regard when it came to protecting himself. His dodge was late, and he kind of paid for that.
*huff* *puff*
With each breath that he took, each one felt a bit harder than the last. It was hard to breathe, which meant that it would be hard for him to fight as well. He didn't know if this meant that he would have been smashed by the beast immediately or not, but he hoped that they could have had a breakthrough downstairs soon.
