WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy What Kasey encountered, being the first one down, was an overgrown cyst. It's center was red, brimming with blood, pulsating like a heartbeat. The placenta seemed to grow onto the walls from every side of the cyst, which otherwise barred their way forwards. With Kasey being in such a hurry to move down the stairs, she didn't even have time to react before sprinting into the puss-filled creation. Not that that seemed to be a bad thing. The pressure from Kasey's body easily tore the cyst from the placenta. The pulsating immediately stopped, the fleshy walls writhing as if in incredible pain. The cyst itself, from the accidental tackle, burst open, showering the unfortunate first offender in blood and puss. The group might not be entirely aware of whatever smelled worse. Though they had conquered one challenge, they were nowhere out of the woods yet. Hooves were grinding against the metallic floor on the other side of the cyst. A being stood there. Once, he had been a simple mutation. A mixture between bull and human. Now, with X320's influence, who could really say what he was. The horns remained atop of his head, yet they too seemed to have his flesh grow over them. His skin appeared to have peeled off, revealing his enormous muscles directly to the group. It was as if the drug was granting him immense power, yet tearing him apart at the same time. X320 was desperate to keep them from reaching her, so she was openly sacrificing her own soldiers. They were just drones, after all, no longer human. No longer feeling. No longer important. In this small corridor, the bull took up practically the entire space, as he began charging forwards.
The group needed to mount some kind of defense, immediately, or the bull would barrel straight through the middle like a freight train unleashed. There wasn't any room to manuver around him, so it became a test of strength. The group combined, versus a raging animal. Right behind Naoru, as the reported noticed the monstrocity of a creature, noticed the dying, puss filled cyst, noticed the horror of the situation, she screamed into the palm of her own hand, doing her best to squelch the noise. Whatever or whoever had started all of this, could be nothing more than a monster. Combined with the discussion of whether they were to kill the creature or wait for the last moment for the antidote, this seemed so surreal. For the first time, Jeanne had become aware of exactly how much in danger their lives were. This despite the fact that Naoru was doing everything in his power to comfortably protect her... "This is seriously messed up.." Their sickness also continued to ramp up, the drug beginning to take hold. Spores inserting themselves at the depths of their brains. At this point, they began hearing the commands of X320, given to the other subjects. A whisper in the back of their mind, clawing, that they had to focus to hear. Yet, focussing to hear it might've been inadviceable. Properly hearing these whispers, that they'd feel strangely compelled to obey, even if the commands weren't directed at them. It was clear that the further it went, the more her commands would hold sway over them. Yet, for how much of a monster X320 seemed to be, her voice was light, soft, human... A simple being, fearing for their own life. Charge them! D-don't let them get me, they want to kill me! Stop them! I don't want to die!

No stopping. No shadows. Only running. Luzia wasn't bothering to think, bothering to try to analyze her situation. It didn't matter, it didn't matter, it didn't fucking matter; this shit was... her life was shit but this was something else entirely. She couldn't wrap her mind around this, she couldn't even find words to think about this, so she just didn't bother. More than that, though, she was driven; she had a goal in mind, and nothing, nothing was going to stop her. She didn't want to get hypnotized, she didn't want to become... this.
The only thing that broke her attention was the purple-haired guy - one of the U.A. students, judging from what he was saying - yelling out to them. She narrowed her eyes under her mask, glaring at him with unseen eyes. His words were annoying, they sounded like they would get in the way... she was going to kill this girl... no, this thing. She had to! That was the only sure way to survive... her own quirk stayed out when she slept, why wouldn't this be any different? Why should they trust the other team, though?! Why should she?! There was nothing saying that they would succeed! Besides that, they were U.A. students!
Her blood boiled, but she said nothing; she merely scoffed; no thinking, no stopping. Down stairs. Down more stairs. More halls, more flesh, more stink, more more more more and none of what they actually needed! Annoying! Her attention shifted slightly, though; the person in front of her... her head... it... it was growing... something? Luzia was trying to keep her focus - which was hard, with all of the damned things this stupid drug was making her see - but the person kept grabbing her attention when something grew out of her head... and laughed?! It wasn't the most fucked up thing to happen to her today, but it was still pretty damn weird... when the thing burst out, Luzia prepared herself, squeezing her hands into fists... but thankfully, the creature went the other way... and seemed to be on their side?
This was all honestly too fucking much, her brain was legitimately starting to hurt. She hated this, she hated this, she hated everything so much and getting more angry from not understanding just made her more angry. It was too much, everything was just too fucking much... but she couldn't run. Not anymore; running would kill her and the escape is gone anyway. She had to stop, she had to stuff her anger away... she'd let it out soon. The fucking bitch that's forcing her through this would get everything. She growled, audibly swallowing her anger down like a baseball... she could feel it building up in her chest, but she couldn't get rid of it, not yet. So she just kept running. Never stopping.
She only stopped when the person in front of her, the purple-haired girl, did. Luzia skidded to a halt, somewhere between surprise and disgust under her mask when... whatever got hit exploded. She was used to dumpsters, alleyways, and even seen a dead body or two... but she was always gone before it started smelling like... this. The smell almost made her hurl, but she suppressed that reaction, whirling around when she heard stomping.
What she saw was... something. Something in her just... turned off. Everything was too much. Too much. Too much. What she saw was... something, but the words seemed to just... slip out of her mental fingers. She wasn't even really looking at it; she could recognize its presence, and definitely sense danger, but her brain just didn't... register what exactly it was. It just defaulted to the absolute base it was; a very big, very strong threat, but nothing more than that. She couldn't handle anything more than that.
Instinct drove to move her, but she stopped herself. No place to run, no place to hide, no time. She narrowed her eyes under her mask, feeling her anger boil up again, and this time, she let it. No. Damn. Time! Too much wasted. She let out another yell, and although self-preservation might have normally made her run away, this time it drove her forward. She ran past the purple-haired masked girl, kicking herself off of the ground, a burst of purple, glowing mist propelling her not just forward, but over the girl, throwing her forward to put her foot against the thing's head, at a slight down angle just so it might go down instead of just back and make room for them to move past. When her foot connected, she called on her quirk again, a far more robust purple exploding from underneath her trousers, thrusting against the beast's skull to add force to her kick downwards on the thing, adding a force that would normally be enough to break wood.
At the same time she let out only some of her angry against the... thing, she heard something, not in the air, though, in her head. She went wide-eyed when she realized, panic making her respond to the barely-'audible' voice in her head by screaming in her's, drowning out the sound. No, no, no, NO! She had no idea what was going on, but she knew that hearing voices was bad - it was never good anyway - it meant that things were getting worse, that she was... what did it even mean?! Did it mean she was being mind controlled?! No... she couldn't let that happen... she had to be herself, she had to resist!
She wouldn't let her in!

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures Once they arrived to the second floor, the nightmare was gradually getting worse. Although in the lighting of the cameras and the neon-like shine it was hard to pick up exact shapes, it was obvious that there was something happening with the bone-masked person up in front. He couldn’t see that far ahead, but he saw movement on her scalp, and he tried to dismiss the bone-y spider legs that were sprouting as a play on his mind. There was no way he saw that right in this darkness. “I agree with Kogami-kun, we should not kill.” He said, resolutely. There were only a few things he was as certain in as the value of life. There always had to have another option, there was no need to resort to killing. That was their goal; that was why they were learning to be heroes. There was no need to uselessly kill others when there was a way to save them. The new wave of stench that flowed their way from the ripped cyst made Naoru nauseous, although he wasn’t sure of its source. Visibility was still low, and he could see the pink-haired light-user better than the one in the front. Still, the sounds and the smell was somewhat enough to gauge what was happening, though he was still trying to forget he saw bone-leg sprouting from another person’s skull. That was probably another hallucination, another way to make them lose their minds. His brain helpfully reminded him that this person also pulled out a bone from her leg to use as a sword, and he shivered. Better not think about things like that when he already had such a shaky grip on what was real and what wasn’t. A different kind of sound gained his attention. Like stone on concrete, like horn being sharpened, he could hear a being scratching the floor underneath with its hooves. The light of the camera was reaching it only barely, but that was enough to see that they had no room to go around it, and no room to run from it either. “Please stand back.” He told Jeanne, asking her to keep further away in case the bull-like creature was to demolish them all on the spot. Looking at it in itself was horrible. The visible flesh and muscles, the movement of the bloated and deformed body was making his Aura flare uncomfortably. What was this creature? Was it... was it a human before? Just how will they be able to get through it? This was a monster, and there was no way to defeat it. They will not be able to make it in time, but forget their target, this thing will be their demise in the end. Let me out.
Shut up!
Charge them!
...Huh?
D-don't let them get me, they want to kill me! Stop them! I don't want to die!He gasped from hearing a voice that was so completely different and much more real than the other one clawing at the back of his mind. It was feminine, and it was scared. Was this... Xezo? “No...” Empathy was surfacing in him in waves he thought he was unable to feel. Something happened, something mutated this being into what they were seeing now, but still, all he could feel was sympathy and compassion. Hearing this voice, this tiny but incredibly terrified voice just steeled his will, made it clearer that they should not kill, no matter the situation. “We do not want to kill you.” Naoru muttered in front of him, as if he was trying to send a message right to their target. He was almost entirely sure that Xezo can’t hear them from here, but still, saying the words out loud made them more real, as if it was giving him power. His Aura flared, and he touched both his hands to the walls on his sides after stepping as close toward their foe as he could behind the two young women. “Do not kill it!” He said, louder now so the front line could hear him, and he sent his Aura out. White, feathery substance reached along the walls on both sides, reaching past the girls who were already readying their attacks simultaneously to try and destroy the bull. As soon as Naoru reached forward with his Aura, it hardened and tangled at the height of the bull’s knees in an attempt to slow it down and possibly trip the mutant with the added attacks of the others. They might be able to knock it down, and then, there would be no need to kill. If this creature was also a victim of Xezo’s quirk, there is a chance to turn it back to... whatever and whoever it originally was. There is always a chance, so long as it lives. We do not want to kill you! Please! We want to help! Let us help!MADE BY VEL OF GS

Post by Kasey Setsuna on Oct 20, 2018 17:15:59 GMT -4
How could she have been so stupid? Oh, right. It's Kasey. She saw whatever it was, a wall, a barrier, whatever it was, she didn't slow down. The cyst, the large blemish was a thorn in her side, and she would charge into it. She would be covered in blood and the puss, something that only fueled the anger tha twas within her. The smell of death, rot, the puss, all of it begun to make her laugh. It was like her own playground, one made for her. She woul dhave licked her lips, if it had landed on her face, but with her protective helm, she was clean ,at least her face was. Clothing was covered, in the fluids, but it was resistant to getting wet, something fitting to all of the wounds she was about to tear from herself. She needed to play it smart, and while she knew it was what she had to do, she didn't actually know what to do. She saw the bull, and while running into it to slow it down seemed like a good option, she knelt to the ground, her toes extending, piercing her skin as it extended and grew forward, tracing the ground. The bones of her right foot would grow upwards, attempting to spear the bull. But as its hooves hit the ground, her spears would make there way towards it. each one stopping a few meters from each other, creating a buffer of a series of pikes for him to fall upon, to impale him as he continued to near them. But she heard the steps behind her, she didn't know who it was, but she dropped lower, allowing whoever it was to easily jump over her, or atop her for more leverage, for height. As she leaped, Kasey could hear the boy behind her grew closer a familiar aura following the walls. It was the student, so above her was the masked girl, Luzia. The voice of that x320, rang in her mind, one that was pushed out of Kasey's and directly into Setsuna's. "Then you shouldn't have tried to kill us!" he called out, the mouth of her helm speaking, while Kasey remained silent. "It's just like when they when they experimented on us..." she said, while the girl that housed the spirit reached back, trying to keep the student away from danger. The bones that buried into the ground would separate from her own, and she could allow her bone to creep and follow Naoru's actions. As he tried to trip the bull, her bones would remain as hard as copper. "This bull is being tortured. He wants to die." Setsuna spoke again, but still, the bone followed the aura, as Naoru would grab at the knees, she would attempt tp cut away at his limbs, allowing his body to fall to the ground and skewer itself. It wasn't fool proof, But it was what she had. Her toes would disconnect from her creation, the excess falling, turning as weak as paper, while the spears and spikes remained strong, and the blades aimed for the limbs would strike. "No, we have to kill it." Kasey would tell the boy. From her palm, another blade would find it's way, while the swords in her other hand would fuse and grow into a larger axe, the both of them only an arm's length, while the axe blade was as large as a dinner plate. "I'm the janitor, this mess is mine." She would get off the ground as she spoke, rising to her feet. "I would want the same, if it were me." She would run towards the bull just as Luzia would, and as she stomped, kick and struck it, she would set her weapons into the beast's head, trying to impale it to behead it. Whatever her edges could cut into, she was going to aim for the head. "You don't worry, students, I'll protect the both of you!" She said as she ran in, and when it was dead, she would continue to run, be it an opening or from slaying the beast. She would proceed to the next floor, but if her plan succeeded... whatever meat she could cut, she would consume as well. ~ Word Count: 711 ~ tl;dr Knelt to let Luzia pass. Used spikes from bone every 3m in middle of floor, angled towards bull. As Naoru aimed to trip, Kasey aimed to chop chop. |

With Kogami heading over to catch up as he towed himself with great precision and speed, he would arrive after the rest in an appropriate time and immediately cover his mouth and nose. The smell itself that he had to be exposed to was unbearable, noticing up front that one of his companions seemed to be covered in some kind of liquid particle that could have possibly been emitted from the flesh creations itself. This was all just an assumption, regardless of the fact that it was a reasonable one or not.
".............."
He had nothing to say to that. As a matter of fact, he was too concerned with the other creature that seemed to be further up in front of them, the minotaur with the bulging muscles. If it wasn't for the sense of urgency that they maintained, this could have made for a good anti-steroid campaign with the pictures of the minotaur being the reason why kids shouldn't do drugs.
Either way, Kogami was fully trying to think of a way to potentially slow down the minotaur or completely stop it's advance. due to the range of his quirk, he had about a 20-meter advantage that he was going to make use of by quickly handing the photographer the camera for a while as he reached out towards where the minotaur was charging and put himself in a position as if he was about to catch a ball or something of the sense. This was done before all of the others acted for the sense of possibly minimizing the casualties of anyone getting injured.
At the same time, Kogami opened and closed his hands rapidly as if he was inflating something. Little did the others know, Kogami was creating a solidified ball of air and sustaining it as a shield up front so that the minotaur cold crash into it first. His line of sight quirk was capable of such things, but he had to act it out beforehand for specific actions.
Kogami didn't know what effect it would have on the charging bull, but he had no real time to talk or lose focus if he was going o try to soak as much as the impact as possible, or even a little bit. What Kogami was hoping for to at least hold back the minotaur or stagger and distract it so that his other comrades can handle it.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The bull was nothing more than a foot soldier. Once, he had been a person. Once, there had been personality, dreams, desires and hopes behind those eyes. Now, they were rage filled. The completely lack of control from X320 made it clear how expendable that these foot soldiers were to her. The skin-ripped creature's muscles convulsed and ached as it charged forwards, several of the muscle fibers visibly beginning to errupt from each other, blood dripping from the beast as it charged forwards. The bull, in it's frenzied rage, was putting forth more power than his body could handle. Empowered by the quirk, this newfound power was destroying him from the inside. By the time he reached the group, his fate had already been sealed. Whether they wanted to kill him or not was irrelevant, as his heart hammered so hard that it began falling apart. The downwards kick, the ball of air, the aura, the skewering bones. They all functioned to essentially do the same thing. Trip the bull up. Unfortunately for the group, with the momentum the bull had built up, it practically made a flip as it's legs were completely separated from it's body from the sheer force. The muscles of the bull barely holding the body together at this point. Against the kick, the bull attempted to keep raising it's head. As it had more strength than Luzia, the girl experienced a sprain by her ankle, something inside her foot giving off a snap. The second in line, Kasey and Setsuna, were tackled by the body of the bull, though it had significantly slowed down from being unable to continue building momentum. At this point, it wasn't much worse than a professional football player's tackle...If Naoru allowed it, Jeanne would push against his back, essentially placing him against Kasey's back, offering some kind of physical support to prevent the janitor from being knocked down. At this point, there was nothing left within the bull. The eyes that, moments before had been alive, no longer had a light. There was no longer any breathing. Only occasional twitches went through his body, as the muscles, confused and dying, were struggling to survive. The voice in their mind's was growing louder. "No! No! I told you to stop them! Stop them! *incoherent screaming*" The sensation that they ought to listen to the voice was growing exponentially by the moment. Their time was most certainly starting to become pressed. From here, climbing over the bull wouldn't be too much of a hazzle at all. Though, climbing over a dead corpse would illict quite the few outbursts of Ew ew ew ew, that's disgusting, this is not okay, not okay, not okay! From everyone's favorite reporter, Jeanne Emeriss. It seemed that, to the quirkless reporter, the effects of the drug was much less pronounced. Perhaps X320 struggled claiming control of those that were quirkless...? Or perhaps something else was going on..?As the group moved forwards, there were once again several side-rooms in the area that they could choose to look through, should they so desire. Given that this was the sleeping area, they'd probably be able to find different belongings to the soldiers that had been operating in the area. By every bed, there was a small footlocker. Most of them were unlocked, though three in particular had padlocks on them. It'd require either a key, or a show of force, to get at the contents inside. Should the group head towards the stairs leading further down, they'd be met with a rush of warm air. So warm, that it could dry their lips almost in an instant. Heading down the stairs, the heat only continued to rise. What meat them down there, was nothing short of an inferno. Because the barracks was constructed carefully, the smog, char and ash from the inferno was effortlessly sucked out into the air-conditioning system. At least, for now, as long as it remained operational. The flames were intense, fuelled by the same air-conditioning that sucked out the smog. As long as the oxygen was in this high of a supply, putting out the flames would be almost impossible. To further complicate things, several vats of medicinal acid had been smashed across the floor, essentially creating an area hazard... The controls for the air-conditioning were at the other end of the room, through the hall, hidden in the corner behind the stairs. There were no indication of where it may be, although the first person to cross this hellhole would be able to find it rather easily. Should Kasey ponder whether Setsuna would be able to cross as a scouting option, she'd have a strange, ominous sensation. Simply sending across the phantom-esque quirk creature, seemed ill adviced...

In her mind, her kick would have thrown the bull down, or at least, shoved its head down enough to... climb over, or something. Maybe the others would have continued her assault to destroy it.
That wasn't what happened.
Everything happened so fast; she gave it a pink explosion to the face, and the others threw their own attacks, but she couldn't see them because as soon as she kicked the thing, she felt pain; something in her ankle twisted, and then the bull jumped at her! She screamed, both in pain and in fear when the thing's eyes looked directly at her, but then, almost in an instant, she hit the ground, landing on her rear just a little away from the bull thanks to the the force of her enhanced kick, while the bull landed just in front of her. Without sparing even half a second, she reared her hand up, ready to attack again, staring at the creature's face, her mask hiding her pain and fear, leaving only the red, angry eyes.
The next second felt like an hour, but when the bull did nothing, when she looked into the thing's eyes, she let out a soft sigh of relief. The... thing was dead, and for a slight second, relief filled her... but then the pain came back, reminding her about her ankle. "Augh!" She hissed through her mouth, not noticing and not caring about saliva hitting the inside of her mask as she held her ankle in a vain attempt to stop the pain. Not what she needed, not what she needed, not good not good not fucking good!!! The one fucking thing that didn't need to get hurt right now, and it got hurt! What the hell? How was this fair?! Did the world want to kill her?!
"Auuugh, damnit!"
She yelled, hissing in pain again. At the same time, fear tinged at the edges of her psyche as the voice, the damned voice got louder in her head, but she blocked it out; she had to, and honestly, she was so angry she was only half-hearing it anyway. She hated this, everything... everything was just horrible in every single way, and on top of that, her fucking ankle was... broken? No... no, it wasn't that bad... it didn't hurt that much... it was just sprained... somewhere in her, there was a bit of thankfulness, but she didn't even feel it when she was drugged, in the middle of some sort of flesh-thing, being attacked by monsters, and having a sprain on top of it!
All Luzia could do was seethe as she grabbed the wall, using it to pull herself up, wondering why... so many why questions, so many, too many. It made her head hurt, it made her almost sick to her stomach... she wanted to go home... if she was let go she really would just go... she was honestly getting just as scared as she was mad... but no, she had to stay here, she had to stop this thing, she had to survive. She tested her foot, grimacing when it gave her a fresh sting of pain, but she was starting to get used to it already... the thing just twisted it or something, so she could put some weight on it... at least for now, so she pressed on, moving past the bloody corpse, refusing to look at it as she gingerly pushed her way down the hall.
She had to keep moving. She had to kill the source.
Why was it so warm?
Luzia blinked when she felt a heat, one that only got warmer and warmer the closer she got to the stairs, and when she got to them, she didn't even need to go down to know what was happening; she saw those dancing lights plenty of times... and the heat only confirmed it. Fire, and a big one, right in their way, because of fucking course. Everything was going wrong, everything!
More obstacles, more pain, more trouble. Luzia's blood boiled, but she didn't even bother exerting the energy to yell; all she did was follow her instincts, letting her eyes scan the area for an extinguisher, which turned out to be nonexistent, because fuck everyone in the world. Luzia seethed again, her hands squeezing until they turned white, stomping her foot, but she bottled her anger, letting out a huff of annoyance, but keeping herself calm, saving her anger for the bitch that forced them in this situation. There had to be one somewhere, right?
Luzia turned away from the staircase and walked into one of the several rooms in the hall, gazing around sourly as she found what looked like a bedroom for soldiers. She gingerly limped her way into the room, the neon painted over her body filling the room with all the light she'd ever need. No extinguisher on the walls... was it in the trunks? She started opening the trunks, one by one, looking through them, trying to find something, anything that would help with a fire. Eventually she came across a trunk that was locked, and this actually piqued her curiosity; what exactly in this hellhole of a building would someone lock away? It definitely wasn't bad... or most likely wasn't, right? This was someone's belongings, it was probably just locked like a normal person, and they just couldn't get it before they got... swallowed up or something.
Their loss. Maybe her gain?
She sheathed her knife, holding a hand up, pink neon light forming around it as she punched not the lock, but the top of the locker, causing a small explosion, but smashing herself a hole in the top, pulling her hand back to look inside. Some part of her was praying that it would be something to help this shitfest of a situation, but she wasn't religious enough to count on it....

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures In the midst of the bull’s appearance and sudden rush, Naoru barely heard the words aimed at him by the bone-masked person. For a while, he couldn’t connect her words to anything he knew of, but realization came in moments. Janitor? Mess? He knew a person that was a janitor in U.A. and cleaned up the messes made by students for a living, but... That voice. It was getting more and more familiar, easier to connect to memory now that he had an anchor to reach for. There was no way, right? Kasey? Too many things started happening to keep thinking about this. The bull rushed, and Naoru had to concentrate on slowing it down with his Aura. Horror unfolded before their eyes as the tissue ripped itself off from the bull’s body from the overexertion and the power that wasn’t meant for such a body. Skin and flesh tore, bone broke as the creature’s legs were severed, and Naoru was frozen on the spot by the suddenness of it all. He could feel the push from behind and he steeled himself, ready to hold the bone-masked person’s – Kasey, Kasey, he reminded himself – body against the tackle’s momentum that was still within the rush of the bull’s remains. A strange feel of quietness followed even though he could hear the painful grumbles of the light-user after it all happened. The bull was on the floor, damaged beyond repair, and Naoru could feel its legs being severed through his Aura still, even though he wasn’t the one doing that. His quirk settled back around himself once more, and he couldn’t keep his eyes off of the mutation type that breathed its last on the cold floor of this hallway. “I am so sorry.” He said quietly, taking a moment to close his eyes and mourn the creature that was once human. He could feel nausea coming in another rush, but he willed it back. He wasn’t sure how long he could keep this up, this masquerade of calmness. He was shaking under that white Aura, soul pushed toward the breaking point as he could feel himself being more and more useless in the difficulty of their current situation. It already caused the death of one person. The scream in his head that belonged to Xezo was just a shove toward desperation. She wasn’t coherent anymore, but still, killing was not an option. Even after such cruelty, killing was not an option. Let me out.His mask of calmness was all he showed outward, keeping all his questions and uncertainty to himself. There were others around who might be as shaken as him. There was a civilian they needed to protect. He glanced back at the reporter who seemed more and more affected by what was happening. Naoru stared and observe for a moment more. She was... taking this all strangely well, all things considered. She was either experienced in such things or... No, he couldn’t keep up the paranoid thoughts any longer. Maybe she was just less affected by the substance of Xezo in itself. Coming up with conspiracy theories would just cripple his nerves more, and then his own Aura would suffer the consequences. He would keep his eyes open, but his paranoia will have to remain on the backburner. He stepped toward the other end of the hallway, minding his steps around the body of the bull. “I hope you will rest in peace.” He murmured. I am sorry I couldn’t do anything for you, he added as a thought. The voice of the reporter behind him was a reminder that not everyone could remain quiet and respectful in the face of stress, so he reached out a hand to help Jeanne over easier. What awaited them under the stairs was nothing less than a literal inferno. A mix of scorching flames and something else that was almost melting the furthest end of the railings. Simple fire couldn’t do that... Naoru wouldn’t even try to venture into this hell by body or by Aura either. No sensitivity suppressant could make up for the pain of melting his body away. His eyes were blown wide, and he even held a hand up in case the people behind him would want to climb down and try their luck. Now what? There was no way any of them could go past that, and as far as he was aware, no one had a quirk that could go against this kind of fire. But they had to go down. Down where Xezo was, as fast as possible, before they would feel the effects and end up as that poor mutation that rushed them and was killed by its own power on top of their own inexperience. He reached to his scalp and scratched the soft feathers under, ruffling his hair up in the process, like an annoyed animal in the face of danger. “Let us look around. I believe the military was not naïve enough to give this whole building only one route to the exit. Even if what they did was illegal and against human rights, they are not stupid. They would not endanger their own people for the sake of making a labyrinth out of a linear horror game.” Part of his annoyance and nerves were seeping through his words. He felt more and more useless by the constant hurdles. He hated the unknown. He hated that he didn’t know what was down there, and what was going on. He needed information, and needed it badly. “Emeriss-san, can I ask you to assist me?” He turned to the others as well, noticing that one of them, the pink-haired girl that used light as power, was already over at one of the side rooms. “You two as well. We should not head into the fire rashly without searching for an alternative.”He would choose a different side room to look through, one that the one before him didn’t check. He wouldn’t only look for ways to get through this all, but information as well. He highly doubted that the sleeping quarters would contain any papers about the experiments and Xezo, but if this was the place for the people involved in this whole mess to rest, someone might be careless enough to leave a reading material on their nightstand. He would look through the lockers, and any of the locked ones would meet with a punch from his reinforced Aura. It would be enough to dent the surface just right so the lock would bend and open the doors up. Such lockers weren’t made of steel, and if he was able to damage stone, he would be able to dent this thin material that made up the lockers. This kind of collateral damage was fine. He would apologize to the people later, after they all actually survived this whole ordeal. Hopefully Xezo included. He was looking for supplies, anything that would help them through the fire itself, or lead them to a different route, to a different approach. Let me out.“If worse comes to worst, we can try to punch a hole through the floor at the other end of the hallway, and skip the fiery inferno of hell entirely.” He intended that as more of a joke. But if he found explosives around the barracks, they could as well blow their way through the floor. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Could it really be said that things were happening according to plan? Her bones cut at the limbs. The aura held him back. But that bull's body was breaking faster than he could harm them. By luck, if they left him alone he most likely would have died at his rate, just as he crashed into them. But that was nothing to think about, nor explore the idea of. She watched the meaty bull flip towards her, just as the girl ran off ahead. At least she had the idea. She wasn't a student, Kasey didn't have to worry about her, she was probably just another civilian. Perhaps a rave goer with her quirk. With a painted mask, perhaps she was even someone she had spoken with before, in a certain chat... "SPARTAN!" the mask on her face called out to the girl behind it. She would obey his order, his command to defend. She placed her arms together, parallel to each other. Her fists toward the ceiling as her elbows would point at the ground. Needles would weave from her arms toward the bull, only a foot out before extending like umbrellas to create some shield in front of her. She would remain crouched toward the ground as her bone would dig into the floor. As the bull landed towards her, from her large shield, between her arms would grow a blade meant to split the bull in half, to throw his weight to either side of her. Taking whatever weight was left, she would endure the impact, before allowing her body to reabsorb her bones back to herself. As Naoru would go on ahead, around her, she would rise again to her feet, reaching out to the bits of the bull that would remain around. She would toss each morsel into her mouth, trying to obtain each and every bit of nutrient she could. Taking a deep breath, she would follow him, trying to piece what was going on. ". . . why did you tell the boy who you were?""I never spoke my name.""You gave him enough to figure it out.""Because I need them to trust me. If he trusts me, so will Kogami. If the students can put their faith in me, then at least my sacrifices will no longer be in vain.""What of the other girl and the reporter?""Not everyone can die a hero."She could see the flickering light, as well as the change in temperature. Perhaps they should have searched the rooms the entire time, but it was too late. Looking at the locked boxes, Kasey reached up to her face only to form and grow bone hammers and toss them forward into the ground. They needed to all open the locks as fast as they could. Time was running thin. Kasey could have walked away from it all and been fine, but could she live with allowing so many students to die? "Crimes of negligence are a thing when you work with children, you know."The children. The next future. The students. The babies that never were, and all of the families that would be effected. No, this was just a small instance, if they succeeded here, it would be problems later. She needed to stop them, to show them it would fail if they used it on the public. She headed forward, walking by the footlockers, only to spot one that was locked. Walking past Luzia, she watched her smash the top of the box with her power. As Kasey neared the stairs, she lifted her foot and slammed down on the padlock. She could have searched like Naoru, but these were deliberately locked. The military were only here for a short time. If these people felt the need to lock things up, even if they were evacuated... what did they have to hide? "If we don't have an answer," she would say, reaching down to the footlocker to open the lid. "Then I'm just going to run through the fire." she would say to them all. "You can leave me behind, just as long as you put an end to this, Sanni-Rei*"If there was no fire extinguisher, or anything to stop the flame, Kasey was ready to make her sacrifice. Maybe she wasn't going to die, but it was going to hurt like hell. But she wasn't going to put any of them in danger. From the mask over her face, the bone would begin to crawl over her body, like a armored suit. At her waist, when her armor was completed, additional spider like limbs would extend, six in total. She would make her way to the stairs, ready to run into the fray, tucking her legs into herself into a encased ball before rushing in. But all she needed the order. All she needed to know, was there was no other way. I mean, surely the military had C4 or something... right? (* San Ni Rei = "3-2-0" but in the Japanesesesees.) ~ Word Count: 830 ~ |

While Kogami was playing the defensive game in order to stop the movements and the motions of the infected minotaur quirk user, things took a turn for the worse with the countermeasure being broken through completely. Kogami was far behind, so he really couldn't see. However, the legs of the creature were completely separated from the rest of its body as it flipped around and assaulted the light quirk user whose name Kogami didn't know. With everything that the creature took, it seemingly powered through as if it didn't feel the pain, or even worse, it was as if the trance that the quirk user was going through. It was over pretty quickly with how Kogami processed the entire exchange with his mind. The only regret that he had was that he was upset at the fact that this individual ended up dying anyway, there was nothing that could be changed about that.
"There is nothing more that we can do for this poor soul, but at the very least, we can try to lessen the number of casualties by putting a stop to the quirk user that is behind the mind control. I'm not completely sure about how much good that will do, but it's a start in the right direction, with some hopes that we could get answers as to why this all happened in the first place. I'm also sure that I don't need to remind you that we are all on a time limit here. If time runs out, we might not be able to do anything at all, which is what I'm afraid of the most. "
Kogami stared at the janitor a little bit, maybe he knew a little about her after all? Or better yet, he may have recognized a conversation that he had with such a woman that wanted to be a janitor or do odd jobs for the school, with that reflecting with the new faculty that was present in the school to do the exact same things. Kogami didn't necessarily believe in coincidences, which is why he ignored it. Especially due to the fact that he never met Kasey in the school in person, he didn't think that she worked there. Either she was an expert at avoiding him, or maybe it was just a check and she was keeping low.
However, she was being quite heroic here, and he still didn't understand how her quirk worked. Nothing made sense to him, which is exactly why he opted for silence. However, he instinctively went over to the injured as he gave Kasey an acknowledging nod. It was a nod of trust at the very least, or maybe the nod of acknowledgment was to trust her judgment for the time being.
"How bad are you hurt?"
Kogami asked Luzia a simple question as he called through one of the rooms that she was in. If she ignored him and didn't want to talk to him, that was alright. They were all fighting against time at the moment.
Kogami also flashed the light of the camera in Naoru's and Kasey's section to see if they could use the light in order to locate something a bit quicker. Or at the very least, use the light in order to guide their search. But regardless of the outcome, Kogami did have a response to what Kasey said.
"How foolish, risking your life for nothing isn't what anyone of us here wants. We all have something at stake here with the time limit of the mind control quirk taking effect, we aren't even too sure if you are being controlled to do such a reckless option to endanger yours left eating all others. This quirk is nothing is nothing short of madness, but we can't let that and the situation get the best of us. No one here is expendable..... "
Handing the camera back to the reporter for a bit so that Kogami can have full use of his hands, he looked over to where the fire was located and started to move through the possible options he had if they couldn't find anything to use. The lack of progression here was the enemy, they couldn't be stagnant, not even for a moment. Since the three, in particular, needed a key box, Kogami went to check what was already open in the hopes that something useful could be in there.

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The object which Luzia came across, may be one that she ought to hide from the remaining members of the group. A rippled, beautiful surface. A handle, with a pin. Yet, the material was not made of something she could easily identify. The form, the shape, the pin, however... It was very, very clear that the girl had gotten her hands on a fragmentation grenade. Within the locker, was also a small letter of delivery. Ordnance delivered. Prototype Fragmentation Grenade, model B.E.T.A 207. The shrapnel itself has been reinforced with titanium shards. This little baby will tear straight through anything, barring reinforced tank hulls. Do be careful though, the explosive load, as a counter-measure to the reinforced hull, has been upped to even allow the shrapnel to crack. This little baby could very easily tear through the walls or floor of the truck. However, since the shrapnel could tear through the reinforced hull, if shrapnel went in the direction of the group, they'd have nowhere to seek cover. Either way, it was certainly a fun little toy that the crazed female had gotten her hands on. A toy that, if used properly, might just improve her chances of survival...
Naoru Kehai, on the other side of the little corridor, would find something equally as interesting, though not quite as useful. At least not in a direct sense. The footlocker which he had broken open, belonged to one of the researchers that had been working together with X320. The locker contained his diary, though most of the pages had been torn out. Seemingly by frustration, scattered across the footlocker as he had attempted to hide the evidence of said act. They expect me to just go to headquarters, leaving Alicia behind here. The girl has been growing ever more unstable since command attempted to develop her biological make-up into that Quirk Enhancing Drug. They keep claiming they are doing her no harm, but I can tell they've been lying to me. Even if they were successful in manufacturing the drug, Alicia is losing herself from the excruciating pain she keeps begging me to stop. Despite knowing that I am her family, despite knowing how much I love her, she is still growing ever more feral. The other day she tried to bite me, when I wanted to brush her hair.
Alicia, my daughter, I am so sorry... I wish I could do something. Should something happen to me, and my note found, I beg you. Underneath the microwave on the second floor, is a hollow compartment. I've left a chemical there in a syringe. Please, give my daughter a second chance." Aside from the diary notes themselves, there was a picture of a beautiful little girl, smiling warmly at her father... A shy, gentle little sweetheart. 6th birthday - she loved the scarf, refusing to take it off! was engraved into the bottom with black marker.
Kasey and Kogami wouldn't have much luck in her search. The main thing the Janitor would find, were different letters meant to be posted for family members of regular soldiers back home. Nothing which had any usage for the group. The only thing Kogami found, was a singular key, meant to unlock a clothes cabinet. If he felt a little cold, perhaps he could grab himself a hat, some mitts and a scarf. Not that he'd be feeling cold, with the fire-y inferno in the next room. So they now had a decision to make. Or rather, Luzia did. Would the girl attempt to spend her singular explosive device to skip the burning inferno floor... Or would she keep it a secret from the group, forcing Kasey to move through the flames and acid to cross the room? Either case, something had to be sacrificed...
As for the ramping of their affliction, the voice which had belonged to X320, began to fade. Instead, they'd be hearing constant, unintelligible noises. Distorted voices. For how unintelligible they were, there was still a feeling of wanting to do something attached to them. It was drowning out everything inside their heads, making thinking, talking, communicaitng, increasingly difficult. A feeling.. I would feel real good, if you broke their legs. Yeah, I'll have never felt something as good as breaking their legs. The crunchy sound. I think I want to break their legs. Each member of the group would have the same strange sensation, when peering at any of their allies. Meanwhile, a certain reporter rose a hand in the air. "I was thinking! Since I am mostly useless in a fight anyway, maybe you could let me cross the fire? I want to contribute to saving everyone, but, beyond running through the corridor below us, I don't think I really have any uses."

Some part of Luzia broke out in a tiny little smirk, proud of herself for breaking through the trunk so easily. At least something was going right.. one, little, annoyingly tiny thing, though, so Luzia wasn't cheered up too much; what tiny smirk she had faded back into a scowl as she reached inside, blinking as she wrapped her fingers around something cold and metallic. The object was smooth, but bump-shaped, and it was cold... lifting it was surprisingly difficult... she could pretty much fit it in her hand, but it was heavy, but she gasped as she saw it. She never saw one before; even on TVs, she didn't see it too much, but even she knew what this was... it was a grenade! Luzia gazed at it, and finally, her mood lifted, at least a little bit; she snickered as she held it in her hand, a device that was made to kill everything in an area... oh how amazing it would be to play with something like this! She almost laughed, but she stopped herself when she looked inside again; she had hoped to find another, but instead she just found a note about it, and the note made her grin get just a little bit wider; this wasn't just a grenade, this was a stronger one! She could do so much with something like this... she could blow a chunk out of that stupid school... maybe even kill a few of those damned students....
"How bad are you hurt?"
She was barely finished that thought when she was reminded that she was with one of those students. Her body jolted in an instinctive fear when someone addresse her so deep in thought, forcing her out of it and making her glare over her shoulder... although with her mask, her face was hidden, though she made red angry eyes on her mask to mimic that glare when this whole thing started. Without even thinking, she subtly pocketed the grenade while her back was still to him her other hand still grasping the paper in the trunk and balling it up; the way she grew up, valuable stuff like this had to be hidden, otherwise people would want them.
Forced to focus on the purple-haired guy, she seethed softly, rage boiling under the surface. He was a student... she hated him... hated him, hated hated hated! He was in that school, he was living a home, he had a family! He had everything she wanted... she should have! She should break his legs for just being there, for talking to her... what? That thought made her broiling fury fade. Why would she break his legs...? Granted it might be fun... but... no, that didn't sound right? Why did it sound wrong? She groaned, squeezing her head. "I'm fine! Shut up! Go away!" So many voices in her head, and they weren't saying anything! Was she talking to the student? Or the voices! Not even she knew! Why did breaking his legs sound wrong?!
...Oh yeah. She giggled softly, a twisted, half-maddened giggle of relief when all of those voices faded for just a moment with her moment of clarity. Of course breaking his legs sounded wrong... she wanted to kill him, not maim him! Somehow, that revelation made the voices go just a little bit quieter, like she lowered the volume of a thousand TVs by two notches. It was so tiny, almost unnoticeable, but all the fucking noise going down even slightly was like a narcotic bliss... a mild one, but still bliss... a bliss that almost made her shiver like her whole body relaxed slightly.
She pushed herself up, wincing as even as she tried to not put weight on it, it still hurt, and limped outside of the room. Instantly, her mood soured; the voices were still just that tiny bit quieter, but the people around her were yelling about going through the fire and stuff... what kind of idiots were these people? If the fire didn't cook them the smoke would probably suffocate them... even she knew that, and these were the people in school! They needed to avoid the fire entirely, but if it was like all of the hallways they already went through, there was no chance of that... unless....
...Hmm. Luzia wondered on her new toy for the briefest moment. Some part of her, some more sane, more thoughtful part, considered holding onto the grenade... but that voice was like all the others; static on a dead channel, saying something but drowning each other out. Instead, in a rare moment of calm, she pulled the grenade out, gripping the lever tight as she pulled the pin, not even realizing that was buying her time, delaying the action of the timer within, as she grinned underneath her mask, the calm fading into excitement as she was very eager to let loose her very first grenade.
"Run or die!"
With those three words, she tossed the grenade towards the other end of the hall, towards the staircase that led to the blaze, the lever pinging off of the explosive as it flew. Almost in the same motion, she turned away and ran - or at least as much as she could with her sprained ankle. Even as she limped as fast as she could, she grinned widely, the sheer excitement of what she just did making the voices' volume go down just one tick more, just enough for her mind to race, wondering how long it took for the boom, how the boom will sound, what explosives smell like... hell, how it would feel to make something explode!

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures He caught Kasey’s hand when he saw her gather pieces of meat to eat them, but he was too slow, too late. She already devoured much of the bull, and Naoru had to fight back nausea on top of the horrible smell and the urge to drag the girl out of there. He stared at her, at the bone mask covering her face, eyes wide and wild, disbelief mixed with something else that wasn’t really disgust, wasn’t really pity. He just released her without a word, as he found it hard to form any coherent sentences upon witnessing that. Was he hallucinating again? Even his own mind couldn’t come up with something so morbid and foul, surely. He heard the others talk while searching around and planning their next step. Kasey seemed to be rather displeased with the fact they were stopped by the fire, as indicated by her wish to just run through it rashly. “Please do not do that. We might find a different route.” He wasn’t sure why the girl was so desperate to hurt herself for the sake of reaching Xezo. There had to be a different way, where preferably neither of them had to get hurt. “Kogami-kun is right, we still need to hurry, but not through the fire. Xezo is down there, and we need to reach her, but not by sacrificing one of us.” He barely even realized he said his nickname of X320 out loud, but he could deal with the weird looks coming his way later. Now, they had some searching to do. Let me out. With Jeanne in tow, Naoru looked through the desks and the foot locker in hopes of finding anything useful. But his mind was more curious about their situation, about what caused all this, and about how the military was involved, and so he zoned in on the diary and other papers hidden in the locker. “This is..., Emeriss-san, could you come closer with the camera light?” He asked her to shine some light so he could read better. Quickly, he glanced through the pages, gathering the most of the contents and getting paler as realization hit. “It was written by her father, he was here, and knew what was happening with her. Xezo’s real name is Alicia...” He wasn’t sure if the father was a researcher as well, or one of the military personnel, but it was obvious the father was here, and had his suspicion that they were hurting his daughter. “The military was trying to develop this Quirk Enhancing Drug through experimenting on her.” They were suspecting that ever since they saw the screen in the tent during the press gathering, but this was solid evidence – though he wasn’t sure how solid a simple diary can be... The picture. “Sixth birthday... She loved the scarf, refusing to take it off...” As he read it out loud, he could feel his resolve strengthening, saying that they should not kill this girl, no matter what she turned into. Especially if they had a chance to make it right! He picked the diary up and slid the pieces of the torn pages back into the book, hiding it under his Aura, in the pocket of his pants. He will take it with himself and gather more information later. Looking around, he was trying to spot the microwave the diary was talking about. He found it past the beds and footlockers, and rushing to it, he reached into the hollow compartment to feel out the syringe and take it with himself. The syringe was carefully placed into a plastic, see-through box, easy to open, but keeping the needle and the contents safe and intact. It was already assembled, ready to be used anytime. “The diary mentioned a second chance. If that was true, this syringe would be the key to make Alicia better...” And Naoru really hoped he wasn’t misunderstanding it all. Second chance meant a chance to live again, right? That had to be it. He slid the plastic box into the inside pocket of his shirt. He rubbed his eyes and his temple when he could feel a slight buzzing at the back of his mind. Scratching at his scalp didn’t help the noise, but it at least eased the itch that was coming right where the buzzing began. Let me out. Let me break something.Whatever that substance was doing to them, was making it harder to go against its will. Naoru glanced toward Jeanne when she gave an option for her to go through the fire as an expandable piece. Naoru’s first reaction was to tell her off as harshly as possible for being stupid, but he refrained. His own feelings might have been the same in a similar situation. He is useless, so why not use his life as a stepping stone toward their goal? Jeanne was doing the same, and that was even more of a reason not to let her do it. “Please, do not even think about that. You are not useless, Emeriss-san. Even if you can not fight, you can at least help us uncover what the military was trying to hide here. Please, stay...”I can just break her legs so she won’t be this reckless.“...safe. Please, keep yourself safe down here.” A hunch stopped Naoru from telling her to stay close to him. There was something in the back of his mind that he couldn’t trust, and when he was reminded of the bull, he wondered how much time of sanity and control they had. When the time came, he wouldn’t want to hurt anyone, any of them, least of all a civilian who wasn’t here to fight. “Run or die!” was the only indication that something else was happening that Naoru had to pay attention to, and when he saw the pink-haired light user throw something that looked like a grenade even in the light of the cameras, he swore under his breath. “Wha-!”He pushed at Jeanne’s waist so not to make her loose her balance, urging her toward the stairs just opposite of the thrown grenade, opposite of the stars leading down to the fiery inferno. There was no way they would be completely safe from the explosion it would cause, even if it was low in power. The floor was not big enough for that. “Get down!” He pushed Jeanne behind the stairs and down onto the floor, sweating from the sudden situation they found themselves in. He positioned himself in front and above the reporter, crouching down, flaring his Aura up and hardening it to be strong as stone as a makeshift cover to shield them from part of the explosion. He lowered his sensitivity as much as he could, but he expected to feel pain from whatever that collided with the Aura, be it fire, shrapnel, or anything else thrown by the explosion. He had no time to watch out for the rest of the people, but if they ran toward them and behind him, they would all benefit from the cover of his Aura at least. What. The hell! When can they ever get a break? words: 1198 @fluffy Luzia Gottschalk Kasey Setsuna kogami i hope i reacted to everything naoru was able to react to naoru dragged the reporter to "safety", will leave luz to kogami! . . . she reached in, holding the letters in her hands. As much as she wanted to tear them up, or toss them into the flames, she could only think about who the letters were meant for. All letters were feelings. All feelings were meant to be heard. She was a janitor, not a postman. But after tonight, she would be sure to play hew new role. She would deliver all of them, by her own hand.
"WE SHOULD KILL ALL OF THEM, RUN AWAY. BREAK THEIR LEGS AND LEAVE THEM BEHIND." the voice rang to her, looking at the others, she felt the need to obey his suggestion, but she couldn't bring herself to. She had to protect them. . . even the reporter.
Kasey stood up, calmly, quietly as the others sorted their findings. Maybe there was nothing to find here, they were wasting their time, but maybe something of use could have been there. Taking the papers, she lifted them to the back of her head. Her helm opening up a slot like a mail box, allowing the envelopes to slide within. They would sit in their own pocket in her bone helmet, at least until they made it out of there. For now, she just needed to focus on getting out, then she'd worry about the letters.
"What about the reporter? Hmm? We could break hers, eat her too. We'd have so much power and energy. We don't need the others. We can do this all alone. Just kill her. Break her. Consume her." Setsuna raged on, succumbing to what unknown thing consumed him. Kasey shook his thoughts away. This wasn't him. So what was she going to do?
Xezo? Xezo. Was that the name of the creature? Perhaps in his findings he found the truth, and the answers. Even monsters deserve names. "Xezo. So that's your name. Then I, Kasey, Beta-Subject-One, will be the one to end your life." She listened to all of the words to her own, only to reply back. "I won't die. I'll recover. But we need to-"
Fight or flight. Those were the responses of a normal person towards danger. Kasey looked up, and turned towards the voice only to see an object hurled towards her way. What the fuck was this stupid bitch doing? Was she trying to fight, right now when there was something to kill? "KILL THEM ALL, KASEY."
She glared at the girl, only to turn back around to where the object should have impacted. They were in a military compound. This bitch was crazy. It had to be a bomb of some kind. "I HATE THIS FUCKING PLACE." She yelled as she pointed her left hand towards the stairs. From her fingers, the bone would extend past her flesh to shoot into the ground for stability. From her five fingers, the rods would fuse to make one solid bar. At the contact point of her bones and the ground, the bones would extend upwards to create some kind of bone shield, or at least a wall. The bones around her finger tips would grow brittle and weak as she snapped them, separating herself from her construction. She leaped to the side, ducking behind whatever cover she could find. She was already encased in her own bone armor, but it would only act like a buffer, just like her wall. It may not have shattered, but with the shrapnel, she could only hope it would slow it down enough to lower the lethality. Hopefully she was doing enough to save their lives. Hopefully she was useful.

Moving on with his searches, Kogami came across a key of some kind that led to a clothing compartment. He didn't necessarily know what to expect, but the main point of searching was to see if he could find something that he can use to be helpful to the team. Going on over to the clothing compartment to unlock it, Kogami did his best to search the locker thoroughly in order to see if something of use would pop up. But with his findings, all he could find was two pair of gloves and a scarf.
"Nothing here...."
As soon as Kogami was about to turn away and disregard what he reading aboutentioned some reading about someone never taking off a scarf.
"Huh?"
Pausing for a moment, Kogami decided to take the scarf, after all, wrapping it around his neck so he didn't have to commit to holding it in some awkward way. He would also start to speak out loud in order to gain the attention of others.
"If that note is in regards to the quick user that was experimented on and this is her scarf .....which I just found by the way, do you think we can trigger enough of an emotional response for her to stop? OR maybe that could distract her until......"
His voice trailed off in order to walk on over to see what the others were doing. Or more importantly, in order to catch what the light quirk user was doing with the item that she found. Kogami only caught a bit of a glimpse, but he hurried to her in concern. WAs this the insanity complex taking over.
"Hey! What are you trying to do?!"
With Luzia's declaration of running or dying, Kogami knew that she couldn't do the former due to how messed up her ankle was for the moment. Everyone was a bit preoccupied, so the only thing that Kogami could do was prioritize saving Luzia. Going to her, Kogami would put his arm around her waist as he used his other hand to tow himself quite a few meters ahead in order to get away from the range of the blast to tow himself and Luzia to safety. He had about a 20-meter reach, so Kogami was willing to tow himself as far as he needed to so that neither himself or she would be harmed.
