at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Same coffee, same dress even perhaps, she had a lot of the black ones, the same cafe in the middle of Tokyo's busy streets. Her blue eyes tried to see something that wasn't the same as so many months ago, perhaps it was sunnier that day, she couldn't remember those details, or only if she thought long enough about it. It is not always the nicest way to be, she thought but quickly clicked backspace again on the little tablet that was in front of her. The small lady was called Hanako and she was working on her blog for tomorrow or well, she needed to hand it in in a couple of hours, two to be exact, to make sure her blog would be posted in the magazine tomorrow as well on the website, else she might have a problem. She was sure she could convince the editor if she would be too late but it was best to not do that too often. Even if her blog had been running already for a couple of months now officially and even longer when she wasn't acknowledged by anything yet. Perhaps it was best not to write in public, actually for multiple reasons. The main one being that the noises of the street directly next to her table were loud and people on the street were obnoxious of the person sitting there. No one knew that Hanako was the face behind the column or the blog or whatever you wanted to call it. There was only a picture of her in there with a Venetian mask and all you could see was that she was blonde, now the real deal was blonde but she wore glasses which she did not, obviously as she was wearing a mask that did not even show her eyes but was straight the mask, the masked face was known as Lady Scandal, a nickname she had not used in ages. There were perhaps only a handful of people that would have known her back when she used it and one of them was dead anyway. The others, she probably considered them dead. If they would ever threaten to expose her for who she was, she would probably be okay with giving them a sum of money. Because that was what happened, writing had brought her enough money, also being a sole heir to a lot of money. She definitely did not mind to spend it. She took the takeaway cup of coffee in her hand and swirled it by moving her wrist a little. Perhaps she should go home, no one wanted to be figured out even if you were not something spectacular, but her blog has not always written down the nice articles that you wanted to read about yourself, she wrote the stuff, you hoped people did not see at that moment. However, what Hanako had not anticipated, but only was more splendid, was how much people like to give dirt about others. She had bought a second cell phone, so many years ago, that number was wildly spread if you wanted to give information about something scandalous and you could send it to the person: Lady Scandal and perhaps it would end up in her blog. There were a lot of options per day, and mostly she even liked to write what she figured out herself. A writers' block at this point could only be blamed thanks to the noises on the street and she clicked on the shut-off button on her tablet and stood up. Brushing her long blonde hair over her left shoulder and making sure that her little black dress was fine, she decided to walk away, after she put the tablet in her bag. She had looked up before doing that and not again when she was done, checking her phone which was in her right hand and the cup of coffee in her left. This was normal in Hana her life, as much as trying to avoid people that would bump into her. It was 2071 and Hanako was trying to get good and famous in the journalist world to get even more money. It was the year of 2071, also known the last school year of Miku's middle school. G just finished escorting his lil girl, he had to make sure to keep her safe. So now he walked back home. He took his time as he had no need to rush, he didnt need to be anywhere. Although, there was one or maybe several things in mind. The first one was money. G desperatly lacked a job and henceforth money as well. He only had Vigilantism and that did not pay anything. Sometimes he'd stop crimes and get some rewards. But he wouldnt get a chance to always do that. Sometimes he'd ask some people for favours to provide healthy food for Miku. Other times he'd persuade people.
The bottom line was, he was a piss poor ex Villain aka a piss poor new Vigilante, who lived in an abandoned, broken, dilapitated and generally run down house that was covered in graffiti and grime. He didnt have much money and he had an adopted kid to support and pamper. Life was not the easiest for G. He had to owe up to his fuck ups.
He remembered that he was nearing a cafe and it was a relatively warm day. He thought that maybe buying ice tea or a coke wouldnt hurt much. 1 drink. Or maybe speaking of drinks a nice and cold bottle of bear. G soon arrived to the cafe and sat at a table near some blonde woman who he did not pay much attention to as he didnt see her face or thought she was important. He was much more focused on the cafe itself. As this was one he did not review yet on his blog, he didnt get to visit this one, but it was on his list.
G tried to be normal and inconspicuous. He was after all dressed like a gangster or a villain. Wearing mostly black and white clothes, like black pants and a black jacket with a styalized skull on the back, white shoes and a white t-shirt, a gold chain necklace with the same skull symbol and two tattoos on his forearms with the same skull. Not to mention the broken sunglasses. G just waited for the waiter to come and take his order.

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away As she did not look where she walked, she remembered that clearly, she already bumped into a person only one table further away from her own. Some businessman, who thought he was much better than her, probably only because he wore a suit. She stared at the great coffee stain that was made on his white blouse or was it more like a light grey colour, well at least it had a brown stain on it so did it really matter. Now she wasn't shocked, it took a lot more for Hanako to actually feel a particular emotion so she simply stared at it, heard the buzzing in her ear of the rant that the man was giving her and she looked up at him with her ice blue eyes and lowered her glasses a little on her nose. "Really? Don't worry about it dear, it would get out your cheap suit anyway, you have ever heard about laundry or a dry cleaner? What suit brand is this anyway, surely not the bigger brands I know. I mean my dress at least cost about fifty thousand yen and you don't hear me complaining about these drops. So run along, mention it to your boss, get the dry cleaner done and buy a better one." She gave him a wink and made ushering movements with her hand. The guy was so flabbergasted that he moved away, she made a tsk sound with her own tongue, she had to buy a new coffee. She stared in the empty cup at that point and noticed it only had something left at the bottom, not worth to mention it and as she looked up a waitress was just coming towards her, little did she know she was coming towards the table and as she noticed that the girl did not look at her, she felt perhaps a bit offended but then again, she realized she was no longer sitting at the table. How could you forget your own customer in five seconds though? She was about to wave at the waitress when she was done with the table when she lowered her hand again and stared at the man at the table. Now, surprise was an emotion Hanako knew, something like utter change and idea and demeanour, being able to drop things without understanding. Although she clearly held on to her own phone, she smashed the almost-empty cup of coffee in the bin. Also, an emotion that Hana knew was anger, that... no, it was too much of a coincidence that she could not simply accept. She lifted up her feet automatically, waved away the waitress that seemed to have spotted her now and she walked a little past the table, where she stood directly behind. She couldn't help but turn around and push her glasses a little bit back up and stared again with this ice cold blue eyes at the person at the table. It was him really, alright. MADE BY VEL OF GS

G saw a waiter in his peripheral vision and glared at him as a signal tocome over and serve him, but the waiter noticed him, only to be scared away. G just rolled his eyes in annoyance. He kept an eye on his water only to see him talk waitress into serving him. Now G did not mind that at all. A lovely lady coming over to him was always a step up in the right direction.
When she arrived she asked him for his order "Ok,so give me the cheapest beer you have or the cheapest cold drink you have. I just want a refreshing cool drink thats cheap. Ok? Ok. Now off you go" he said giving his order and dismissing the waitress.
When he was done with the waitress, he heard glass break. G, being alert 24/7, thought that was a sign of trouble a foot. But instead he just saw a blonde woman with glasses who dropped her glass of coffee or whatever. She looked so shocked seeing him. G didnt undrstand why at first, but then just remembered his general appearance. But still, this woman,... was perhaps vaguely familiar, but he couldnt place where and when. He just raised his brow and looked a bit confused. The woman didnt say a word to him, so neither did he. Not yet at least, but if the woman was just gonna stare at him, he'd just tell her off

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away How in the world, how of all places did he show up here, at the same cafe, at the same damn time as her. Her furious thoughts were trying to form something to say, which was a bit strange for a writer that she had a lack of words. She had no idea how what kind of karma joke was this? She raised herself up, brushed her blonde hair again away from her eyes. She stood up a little straighter to make sure she would be able to speak without any problem and with the look of authority. "Gil-" but she was not able to finish the complete word that she wanted to say. A lot of things still went through her mind. What... no, she could not do that right now, because if she was to infiltrate into his mindset, his thoughts and problems, she would not be Hanako, she would be Lady Scandal and she did not... wait why did she actually care? It was he who left her without a word all those years ago and no matter the excuses, she would not accept them. "What the hell are you doing here?" Perhaps she should be nice and cautious about the whole ordeal because that would give her a new view of her column, she could throw the old one away if it was interesting. Who cared about his feelings, she did not care at this point, there was no pretty damn reason. She had the best reason, her parents died! Nanami died! "Where the hell have you been?" Man, she started to sound like a mother and if there was something she did not want to be or to sound like, it was that. At all! "Sorry," She did not mean a single second about that sorry, it was not something she would say, it was just something that saved her pain and trouble for now if she wanted a further discussion. She had ignored the pain and trouble the death of the rest of her family had caught her and had not cried a single tear. But seeing him, Gil, her old friend was something that she found hard to handle.

As soon as he heard her try to utter his name, it all clicked who this woman was. Childhood friend or not, he had to stop her "No! Gil is dead. There is only G." He was very defencive about his name. That was part of the past. But then again, so was she... Hanako
She spoke, this time he allowed her to finish. And he got to listen to her voice. Shit, they really have grown. She asked him the hell was he doing here, the hell he's been. The angry mama tone made him roll his eyes and wonder if she turned into a disgruntled mother in his absence. She then apologized. But somehow G doubted it was sincere.
Before he spoke though, he motioned for her to sit beside him on his table. If she did, he'd elaborate quietly "First of all, I'm getting a cool, refreshing drink here. Secondly, I've been around... Tokyo... places... streets. Thirdly, the hell are you doing here? And whats with the whole coffee stain on your clothes? I dont remember you being a klutz"
Although if she didnt sit with him after he motioned her, he'd just tease her and ask if she's scared

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away She did not know that she could be so motherly. She had never had the experience and never thought about the idea of doing anything with that as it was not necessary at all not now, not in her future, not ever to learn such an ability and besides that, not everyone always seemed to be super happy about that idea. Neither was Hanako this time. But most of all she was surprised about his reaction, it always made her curious in the reaction to her blog and her column, but something was nagging on her, Gil, he used to be her best friend. The only one she really seemed to care about as she had to drag Nanami with her all the time and no one else seemed to be so interesting. She stared at him with big surprising eyes. What the hell could have happened. She was curious, she tried to push the bad side of her curiosity away. She couldn't help but be a bit cautious about how she looked now, compared to at least ten years ago if it wasn't more and she wondered how much she changed, obviously just the change of a woman body. Which made her brush off the invisible dust from her chest. As her curiosity as a reporter took over, she went to sit down and motioned to the waitress for a new coffee, who did not need to ask and turned around to fix it. "Well I am a kluntz, you must have missed that in the past. I am here because I work here as a new reporter for the Metropolitan." She did not want to go into detail about how clumsy she could be. She did not know why she could not take her eyes off him, she tried very hard, "So what happened to you, you disappeared, off the earth surface so to say, for me at least." MADE BY VEL OF GS

Oh yea... she WAS a klutz. He totally forgot about that. This felt weird because it felt new and nostalgic at the same time. Literally two clashing sort of feelings were present at the moment. As soon as she confirmed her clumsy part he just scratched his head and said "Oh yea" as he just remembered Next he listened to her as she became a reporter, which made him instantly... iffy. He wasnt all too eager to mingle with someone who can rat him out and publish his criminal deeds.
When she asked where he went and vanished, he was careful to choose his words "Well... I ran away from home.... My parents didnt like the fact that I had a Quirk. It was hell.... thats why I left" as he talked his made sure to try and cover his tattoos "After I left... I was ... around and did my best to survive. I lived on the streets" He didnt say anything about stealing, vandalising, juvie, assaulting, jail or anything. The fact that he lived on the streets was enough for her to come to a conclusion that he did SOME criminal acts. And considering she is a reporter, he allowed her to guess. Because then it would be her words, not his.
And lastly, considering that she told him that she was a reporter now. He decided to be even and tell her what he is now "Anyway... stuff happened, adopted an orphan kid and became one of them Vigilantes..... Im living... every day is a battle to survive" he said as he waited for their drinks "At least you turned out good. So... umm.... How's your family?"

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Conversations of the past were something that Hanako tried to avoid, not because it was too difficult for her to talk about. No, it was directly the opposite, she did not like people to get all sensitive and feely about her while she was absolutely anything but sensitive about it. She knew how a normal human being would function, and with that, she did not mean with or without a quirk. The thing was but she will get to that later in the conversation, the blonde still had to drop one single tear about the death of her family and she had not done that and still did not feel like it. Surely it was strange but missing wasn't the right word in her own personal dictionary, what the feeling was, was something she did not know nor understood at this point still, seven years later. She couldn't help but check out her dress now that she sat down and he mentioned the spilt coffee. It had looked worse on the guy who bumped into her or she bumped into him. But that was only because his blouse was a light colour and her dress was black. Perhaps she should go to the dry cleaners herself tonight. She could not simply take her dress off now, not that she was prudish but let's think about reputations and stuff. You don't undress in the middle of a cafe. As soon as she told him that she was a reporter, she had the feeling that he wanted to be far away from her, "I thought you would expect that but then again, I am apparently not that interesting to remember." She said bluntly since he had even forgotten that she was a kluntz which in her past was something that mostly happened, falling over her own two feet, scratching herself or ripping her clothing. Now, thank god that did not happen anymore as that was far too expensive now with the dresses and suits she wore and planned to buy if this job was going well. Which in the end, it had done and the Hanako who remembered this, sitting at the same cafe, where it was far more chilly than last year, had bought more expensive brands of clothing. Perhaps it was mean to say that back then, but she wanted to be rather impressive and it was difficult if people did not remember the scrawny little kid you were and now she had the good curves of a woman.
She asked what happened more or less and he answered, also more or less. She did not know why he was so... what would even be the right word? Careful? She did not remember him being careful about whatever he said but for a kid that did not at first have to be necessary, not around other kids. Of course, some kids did not realize that as much as she did but it annoyed her as she could only link it to two things. Either he did not tell anyone and he wanted her to not talk to him, but then the question was why over her a seat? The second was: she had said she was a reporter and he was hiding something. Her job, for now, was just to listen, that he ran away from home was something she did know, she had seen him a few days after until not at all anymore. She couldn't help but look at her own finger, not that he would understand, back then her quirk had not formed yet. Not that it was the greatest thing of all time. She did not, however, remember his quirk if she had seen it or not.
He was acting so strange that it was starting to annoy her even more. Perhaps he knew, perhaps he had already figured out that if she was a reporter, that she must be Lady Scandal but that was ridiculous, he would not remember and besides, it might be interesting but she would not write it without... well it did not matter. She sighed and rolled her eyes, pushing her glasses again a bit higher on her nose, "Just because I am a reporter, doesn't mean I write down everything I hear. Besides I am not really on the big news or stuff, I write a column about my daily life. So perhaps all mentioned about you is that I ran into a childhood friend. Jeez, I thought we were friends but apparently, you can't be that anymore when you don't speak to each other for years. And here you thought I was judgemental." She could not help but say when he mentioned she turned out good. She had heard the last hackling question. And she would have smiled if that was not inappropriate only because of the question he asked and the answer she would give, which would be a rather short one, and she had not even time to applaud him for being a vigilante, so actually, all she really was interested in was his quirk, again.

After Hanako basically guilted G into talking he sighed and gave in. He leaned closer to her and whispered "Listen, Im on edge because I used to be a criminal. I'm an ex Villain. Reporters are known to sell their souls to get a good scoop. And people change. Im just being careful. Im sorry"
After that he thought when was the last he saw her. When did he lose contact with her. Was it when he started getting into slighty serious criminal activities or was it when he was trapped at juvie? He didnt want to ask her how many years it was, he didnt want to invoke her wrath. Thats why he changed the subject.
He thought that talking about family would be good, but he was terribly wrong. Hanako's family was dead. He remembered that her folks were nice people. It wasnt fair that a girl like her loses good people. Meanwhile a guy like him gets to keep shit parents. It wasnt right. G put his hand on her shoulder and rubbed it a bit. He was at a loss for words as that news hit him something terrible. He didnt know what to say beyond the sadly generic "I'm sorry. I.... I'm sorry I wasnt there. If there's anything I can do to make up for all of this..." G had no ways to really make up for her pain, her loss and his absence. It was stupid to say that its the thought that counts. He wanted to do something, but what? What would matter to her? He cant pay her, he doesnt have much money. He could do... certain favours for her. But he doubt she wanted that. So the only thing that came to mind was... an ... interview? Maybe, if he remains an anon... then maybe he could give her a story of some kind. Ex Villain talking to a reporter. That would reel some recognition and cash for her right? Or fame? Could that possibly make up the loss she felt? No. Not in the slightest. But he had no options

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away She could not help but make those mean retorts because she did not want to be seen as a bad guy. The thing was that she had considered it and that made her surely not the nicest but thinking did not mean doing. "Lucky you have a columnist and not that type of reporter." She shrugged, she wasn't actually offended. Surely she felt it a bit but it would be pathetic to hold a grudge for a dumb comment. Perhaps it was just the social problems with Gil, what should have happened all at the moment they lost contact. The thing was that it was so long ago and her parents would not let her chase her through the streets, searching for a guy she once knew. He made a mistake by the next topic of a conversation. Sadly enough many more guys did that often and well women too but people that met her for the first time or like now again. The immediate rub on her shoulders made her feel guilty. She still have not cried and she did not dare to tell anyone anymore. At school they found her a freak and Gil seemed to be obviously touched by it for her sake. She was sitting next to him and it was easier now he scooted closer to her and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You are the first that sound honest." She gave a small smile, "we should celebrate that we are meeting again. So..." The waitress showed up to bring a epsi and a coffee and she stopped her: "Can we have a bottle of champagne?" Which surprised her but Hana ushered her to get it . MADE BY VEL OF GS

All he thought of was making it up to his long lost friend, but while he was lost in thought, never did he expect this next action. Hanako kissed him!... on the cheek. But still it was a kiss that made G blush a bit. He sort of instictively just put his arm around her waist as he was sitting beside her. He actually felt compelled to kiss her. But Hanako's sudden call of the waitress sort of interrupted that action before it even began. Not to mention the waitress appread quickly out of nowhere with the intended drinks.
G quickly swiped his drink and took the chance to pay the waitress for his drink. He sadly had juuust enough yen for his drink to pay. But not enough to pay for Hana's coffee. But then with Hana ordering champagne... yeah, there was no way he was gonna be able to be gentlemany. "Looks like its just not meant to be" he thought to himself, a bit disappointed. He was being so unmanly, it bothered him.
"So... we celebrate and drink?" he stupidly asked, not sure how to start a subject. That kiss sort of threw him for a loop. He enjoyed it greatly and he really wanted to kiss a beautiful, attractive, sexy vixen like her. But with her being his childhood friend made him not want to come on to her like how he would do with the rest. Though that didnt mean he wouldnt glance at her developed assets every now and then

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away It never occurred to Hana before how nice it could have been to have a conversation with someone that more or less cared about you or had cared about you. She wasn't entirely sure now what was the case at this point but it was easy to let that drop. The whole idea that she could celebrate something was a fun idea and she did mean it, everyone that she met and had finally asked about her family had all been so clingy sad for her while it was up to her and it had always felt a bit fake? Could you say that? People surely must be honest but Hanako did not know them well and it was strange if people told you that they were sad for you while you were not. Still, something she would not tell, ever! But this felt like a step in the right direction. What perhaps did surprise her, with different reasons and different sorts of well, happiness, she had given him a short kiss on the cheek, a thing she would have never done as a child for multiple reasons where the first one was: she was a child. But now, well, things had changed and she was trying to make a step in the world that she was more beautiful than her child version every could be? Compared to Nanami that was now a lot easier: beautiful child, plain child for Hanako.Dead for Nanami and beautiful for Hanako. It was nice to have an arm around her wasp-like waist, something she worked hard for and she hoped to keep, that would require a few strict diets and sports opportunities. She had wanted to buy and celebrate with champagne for three months now that she got the job at Metropolitan only with something she had been doing most of her high school life, it worked, it got her the job! It got her the second phone that was in her handbag and many more things, like a steady income... for now. "Do you mind?" She said to him, she wasn't sure how G was as an adult, because this was the first time that they met as an adult. But who would mind to drink on a beautiful summer day in the middle of that day, right? "I mean, I thought it would be fun?" She also lived close by, so no problems in her mind popped up. A smile appeared on her lips when she noticed he checked her out, again, well at least that had worked out well, as she had thought before. Bye, Bye Nanami. MADE BY VEL OF GS

"I dont mind" he said as she ordered champagne. But that whole kiss on the cheek sort of changed the whole dynamic and mood to G. Clearly wanting to 'get to know her better'. He knew he should stop with his glances as they were getting obvious, so he spoke to try and occupy his mind "Sooo, you busy? We could hang out after this and do stuff"
He didnt know what to say, his verbal expressions were bad. So instead he took a sip of his drink only to remember that the champage would come, so... he didnt drink anymore. He waited until the waitress would return. G then noticed his arm was still around her waist. It looks like she didnt mind, well.... neither did he. But where does he go from here? Well, he knew one thing ever since that little kiss "I really wanna kiss her now. But she might slap me, that would suck. But is it worth it?................... Yea, it totally is" he thougth to himself and then sudenly out of the blue also kissed her on the cheek.
If there's one thing that hasnt changed in years, that's Hanako's clumsiness and his way of expression. G wouldnt express himself with words but actions

at most I'm sleeping all these demons away Well, that was a good thing, now she could celebrate getting a job and celebrate it with someone kind of, of interest. What better way than to do something like that, little did she know back than what that all had ended up with or at, or how you wanted to describe it. The nowadays Hanako couldn't help but feel a little bit embarrassed, perhaps it was just a good thing to send a text? Thinking about you. Would be so dramatic, it was not as if she expected them to now start dating and working things out and, she shivered, get married in the end or something. No, no, no that would go way too far, even though Hanako was a bit calmer now than those twelve months ago where she would just let herself be swept off her feet and do whatever that day seemed to be fun. So she settled down for a much simpler reply: Hana to G (as saved in her phone): Care for a drink? Same cafe, right now?
Better not order champagne this time. She tried to remember what happened after she done that. Hanako on that summer day, instead of the autumn one right now, had been entirely satisfied with her new job, her job that she had been dreaming and studying for, for ages and ordering champagne with the guy that she had not seen for ages as well. All had come together, the twenty-four-year-old wondered, as she stared at her coffee, which was really a shame that she ordered that far too late, but you could not spill it over another random victim again, about fifteen minutes later. She looked from the takeaway cup back at her former childhood friend again, she tapped her chin with her index finger, "I only have a deadline but that's not bad, I mean I am almost done with the column for tomorrow." She turned her ice blue eyes back at him, "So yes, I can hang out, sounds like fun." What would do stuff mean? She said her answer, with the part of sounds like fun, more as a purr. She was actually quite curious to what hanging out would entail again, the small adventures of a kid were now changed in the possible adventures and outcomes of an adult. She took her phone out of her bag and switched it off, or well on silent. They would have to do without her for now. It was bad to take the second phone out of her purse as well but her own private mobile was possibly already shut off after she finished writing, so that was a good thing. It was also much bigger than this small white one and could perhaps go through as a tablet, but she did not want to... she felt the kiss on her cheek and froze for a second. Not in a bad way, she accidentally dropped the white phone back in her bag, she had wanted to do that more carefully but it was fine, it was just a louder plop. She turned her eyes towards him, actually wondering what that was for, but with a curious look in her mind and not a scared or offended look. She bit her lip softly, without actually thinking about it, perhaps some sort of habit that she did not know yet. The thing was and she could not remember at that point nor now twelve months later, if she had a crush on him, a childish innocent crush when she was twelve or something, perhaps she had made that up in her mind as he had left her be, all alone in the big bad world that was high school with a model of a sister. Perhaps that's why she was so surprised that he had given her a kiss, was a childhood fantasy, something possible for one... day? Hanako herself was not in the mood for anything with strings or difficulties as her life was just getting on track of what she wanted. She finally left the house of her aunt and uncle with a steady income and no other problems than living on her own. She wanted to say she lived nearby and that they could take the bottle, but her mind was just going too fast, she told herself and it was not necessary. It was perhaps a kiss for an apology, and that was okay. MADE BY VEL OF GS
