Light that can make dreams come true. Shine days! Okay so after talking to Melody, it was now time to do the pep rally. She had a few ideas what she discussed in the morning with the cheerleader club and had practised with the dance but it mostly came to a moment of solo and just enjoying and doing whatever the girls wanted to do on the beat of the music. The only thing that the Captain at this point made uber-nervous, if that was even a word, was that she would have to start. After meeting Mia with Farrah, she had learned she wasn't a cheerleader and she wondered if the others had brought cheerleaders at all, she wasn't entirely sure if she should say anything bad or mean about the other students or just prep everyone for the battles, finales to come and make sure everyone had an enjoyable time.
In the end, she had decided for the latter, their uniforms already said that they were U.A. so there was no need to make that clear, but she wanted to end with a cheer. Right now it was just starting. She stared at the crowd in front of her face, at the main plaza of the school where there would be enough room if people spread out, which she thought would happen anyway, it was calculated but only the people had to respond exactly as she thought humans would respond. Lady blamed Rowan for the nerves but even if she stirred before, she had not said, thought or done anything since the conversation with Saiko, so it must be going well again and Lady could obviously do this. She just had to make sure no one would steal her Bluetooth box. She would simply tape it and she hoped it would be fine.
She put on the music of a band that was hopefully not too familiar to others, she did not want to have something to do with copyright and the like. The music immediately started with a good guitar part and it would be fun to have live music at some point but she couldn't think too much about that. She would have to start and with her pompons now ready, she softly pushed people away to make room, putting her left leg in front of her right and the other way around, shaking her hips as she made space for her girls and herself to start. As soon as people found her in the focus of people dancing, they made space, humans did work that way.
Now that the space got larger, they could jump, yell the occasional yeah/oh and such and shake their pompoms in the air. Maybe it was more of a dance now than actual cheerleading. Moving her pompoms up and shake them to get attention, moving her feet so the dance steps would be synchronized with the others. All she had to do was hold on for about 5 minutes before they could scatter again in the crowd.

Jisa had prompted to actually bring pom poms this time of a rather bright pink color. Himself a little further ahead of the others trying to do a small dance he'd shown prior that was less for keeping attention and more for trying to draw eyes to then look towards the other cheerleaders in the more complex routines. In some ways it more like a routine of a mascot whether he actually saw it that way or not. His lower body had cheerleader pants made for someone of his size and body type with UA colors and the letters on one of the legs. His body from his pants line up all the way to his ear points was painted with washable paint as well.
The colors of UA covering most his body as he truly looked the part of some sort of high school mascot as he danced his little heart out shaking his pom poms usually lowing out key words moments after the cheer leading behind him did to keep trying to draw attention with the bright colors and body paint. Throwing his hands from side to side and even a few times revealing his back as his long fluffy tail would wiggle about. He was very willing to use all his rabbit like features to pull eyes in as he could to make sure no one missed the routines of those behind near him.

Post by Takumi Fujimoto on Feb 15, 2019 9:37:15 GMT -4
Another cool thing about coming to Yuuei was all of the school spirit and general comradery felt by everyone in general. Previously attending a relatively small school in a very small town, Takumi never really experienced big things like pep rallies or big sports games where his school was pitted against another. Sure, his school had sports teams and they played those of other schools, but being in less populated areas meant less of it in general and just all around less hype. Yuuei was a place that really embodied its "Plus Ultra" motto and it definitely applied to other, non heroic areas of life such as sports and school spirit.
Takumi wasn't really sure just what to be expecting when it came to a pep rally, given that his old school's version was nothing more than a really small assembly in the gymnasium that didn't last long. Just like his old school's this one also seemed to feature the school's cheerleader squad, but that was where the similarities ended. The students that featured themselves cheering on the school and took the burden of establishing the foundation of school spirit were definitely just as "Plus Ultra," if not several notches more, than nearly anything else Takumi had encountered here at Yuuei since moving in the other day.
When one of the students put on some music to get everyone pumped, Takumi tried to listen deeply into it but couldn't form any links of familiarity between the song and anything else he had heard before. Maybe the music being used was written by some indie or unknown band, but it was definitely not a song he had heard before. Still, the music kicked ass and was definitely the right call for amping up the energy of everyone in attendance kicking right into high gear with a hard hitting guitar part that started off the song.
Once the music began, one of the girls in the cheer squad would begin to create space for herself and the rest of the cheerleaders to perform their routine, clearing the area of anybody else that was crowding up the immediate ground. Once they had the room to begin their routine, it became very obvious to Takumi that they all really knew how to move and do the whole cheer thing. He really didn't know anything about cheerleading in general, and especially couldn't really tell what was enough to make someone be considered "good" at it aside for a total lack of coordination, but there was still a huge difference between what he was watching right now and what he previously saw back at his old school.
Getting really into the whole experience and letting the swelling wave of school spirit sweep him into solidarity with his fellow students, Takumi would also join in with the audience in their cheers at the prompting of those performing. If the audience was called upon to shout out any letters or join in any chants, he would gladly join in. Otherwise, Takumi would just stand among the crowd and watch the squad do their thing, cheering along if it seemed appropriate based on what everyone else around him was doing and applauding them afterwards.

Upon hearing about the pep rally, Sean was eagerly looking forward to it. There was no way he was going to pass it up. It sounded like a fun time, and with all of the hard work and training Sean had been doing, he deserved to relax and have a bit of fun! Plus, it was always nice to be there to show his school spirit and watch the cheerleaders do their thing.
Once Sean arrived, he noticed Rowan wearing a cheerleader outfit. He tried waving at her and saying hi, but with how many students there were and how loud it was, it was highly doubtful that Rowan would see or hear the blue-haired boy from the crowd. Oh well, he could always talk with her after the pep rally. Then, he could compliment Rowan on a job very well done.
Sean listened as the music playing was playing. He really liked it. He then watched as the cheerleaders began to do their thing. It was enjoyable to watch. If there were any cheering going on in the crowd, Sean would gladly and enthusiastically join in on it to show his support. If not, then he would be the one to start cheering loudly. "WOOOOOOO!!"

--- arisu --- - - - As Jisa and Rowan started to carve their area out for the rally, as the music kicked in, Arisu took a deep breath. The outfit they'd been given was a step less modest than her own preferred clothing or school uniform, but she wasn't overly worried about it- it simply layered a sheen of anxiety over everything else. She wanted to represent the school well, wanted to raise the student's spirits, wanted to support her friends in the squad, and that meant putting her modesty aside enough to don the well-crafted uniform and hit the field with her teammates.
The dance wasn't super complex, just designed to let the cheerleaders show off and warm up a little bit. It had some neat moves, but nothing out of this world- and certainly nothing to draw any unpleasant attention, Arisu reminded herself when her skirt swished and her heart started to beat faster. This wasn't just any school, after all- this was UA and she was surrounded by her classmates, all of whom aspired to be heroes and certainly had the tools and attitudes to help her if anyone got the wrong idea about the students putting themselves in the spotlight to charge up the crowd for their school!
Arisu was pretty athletic naturally, and could fall into the sway and bounces of their dance without too much trouble. It wasn't professional, to be sure, but nobody expected high school cheerleaders to exhibit Olympic-level cheers, dances, or acrobatics, thankfully. The idea did spur the thought of asking Rowan how she felt about working quirks into their routines, but that would have to wait- for now, she danced, and smiled brightly, and waggled her violet pompoms at every chance she got to draw attention to herself and Jisatsu and the other dancers, and tried to will the crowd to get hyped up along with them! Post by Kang Hye-Rin on Feb 18, 2019 6:30:08 GMT -4
Hye-Rin was accidentally super prepared for today.
The cheerleading outfit was a bit shorter than what she usually wore, but she didn't mind it one bit! The only issue she could find was the fact that the stubborn flower buds that could typically only be seen on her face and neck had appeared elsewhere, her thighs and shoulders decorated with wildflowers and tulips.
Watching Rowan and Jisa, the Korean would get more and more excited to join in and give her all. It was some simple, easy to follow dancing- nothing out of the ordinary for what a newly-formed cheerleading team would do. Following Arisu into the circle once it was their time, the flower pot would have no problem joining in to groove to the rhythm of the song and moving her pompoms to the beat. It was a nice choice- a cheery beat with a pretty cool guitar riff.
Though they were doing fine on their own, she couldn't help but think of what could have been a terrible idea. With the martial art she picked up, gymnastics came along with it. So, when the idea to do a tumble came to mind, the girl couldn't shake it. Moving to one side of the open space behind the others, she'd take a deep breath and slide her pompoms to where she would, hopefully, land,"Here goes...!" Though she sounded a bit nervous, the Korean was confident as she bent her knees in preparation, springing backwards in a back handspring to land on the other side of the space. In all honesty, the shock of landing on her feet gave her a deer-in-the-headlights look for a short time before she tried to cover it up, scooping her pompoms back up and posing cutely towards the audience to exercise one of her few skills.
That skill being extremely adorable.
After the tumble, Hye-Rin would go back to dancing her little flowery heart out to the beat. It reminded her of the times she'd blast KPop in her room on the weekends and dance without a care as to who saw her, and she did the same today with a blissful smile on her face.

Post by Haru Kurama on Feb 18, 2019 11:22:21 GMT -4
Haru had been told of most things U.A and its student body were planning for this ‘Sports Festival’. And from what his sister told him, they were as bombastic and over-accentuated as the rest of the school. From the start he doubted the event’s ability to make any decent profit, considering how much money it was pouring into marketing and construction and the presence of high-named guests. His cynicism wasn’t swayed by the invitation of other Hero Schools from around the world either – To him it was a vapid attempt to garner attention from businesses looking to invest in Japan’s first major school. Taking risks was one thing, but resting the financial stability of a cornerstone of the future of quirk/government relationships solely on the performance of barely developed children was not his idea of a ‘good risk’. Needless to say, Haru was planning on not going out at all during the short few days of festivity. He had better things to do. However, that doesn’t explain why he was now stood amongst a growing crowd, offering kind hellos and polite nods when any of the civilians noticed his pristine uniform. There were two forces on this earth that could’ve dragged Haru from his studies; and his sister was busy preparing herself for some big tournament thing.
Haru’s eyes were trained on Rowan, his hands clasped neatly behind his back as he watched her prepare. The uniform was highly questionable, though it looked good on her, and she did well to not seem nervous. Admittedly, the bouncing, dancing rabbit was a bit distracting, but Haru kept his attention to the young woman that invited him here. Eventually he got tired of the bustling crowd, so slithered his way through to the front, where Rowan would undoubtedly see him, but at least he wasn’t being shoved back and forth now. As the music began and the dance set off, the crowd showed their support. Cheers and shouts; the cascading cacophony of clapping to the ambiguous beat of the music. Regardless of the manipulation of the sex appeal of various students to catch the eye of bored, middle-aged men, Haru’s cynicism could not prevent him from enjoying the routine. Those involved obviously put work into it. They were dancing their little hearts out. And that made him smile. A sort of… Genuine smile? Like he meant it?
To show support, he stayed until the end of the routine, which wasn’t bound to be very long. He’d join with the chorus of applause – they certainly deserved it. He’d let the girls and boys disperse into the crowd before fliting away himself. As quick as he was there, he’d melted away into the faceless masses. He’d quickly find Rowan, walking wherever she was going and jogged to join her. “That was… Energetic.” he smiled, announcing his presence. “Looks to me you had plenty of fun – The routine was, uh… Well put together. Good work, Sakamoto-san.” Despite learning Rowan’s full name, his civility refused to address her as much in public. He gave her a slight pat on the shoulder before clearing his throat and standing to full posture as they walked. Side-by-side. Inches apart but unknowingly close.
“So… Are you due another flash mob? If not, perhaps you’d like to explore a little? I have a few hours to kill. If not, that’s perfectly fine too-“ He shrugged casually, smiling warmly to the beautiful woman in the lovely outfit, probably worn out by that intensive dance. “I think you deserve something sweet for putting in so much work.”

Post by Saiko Tachibana on Feb 24, 2019 1:59:05 GMT -4
After a great deal of liner conflict, doubts and concerns, doubling back again and again to try and find an excuse not to go, Saiko found her feet had carried her to the hard to miss area being set up for the supposed pep rally Rowan spoke of. After the two had went their separate ways so Rowan could properly prepare and set up, Saiko had returned to find her parents. She was having a difficult enough time setting foot in an area with so many people, so she had to give a white lie to her father and mother that she would be going to train a bit before the actual games.
The fib was not met with any resistance, and Saiko hoped it would stay that way. The thought of her overly eccentric father at something like a pep rally, a place meant to rally and motivate people, sounded like a disaster in the making for the teal haired girl.
Once she had stepped onto the main plaza, Saiko saw the gathering masses of people and felt her heart skip a beat. Even with all Rowan had said and done to reassure the student of her inclusiveness among UA, it didn't stop the fear and panic from setting in as she froze up, unable to move forward.
Before long though, the numbers grew, and it seemed the mentioned pep rally was soon to begin. With all over her grit and might, Saiko continually ran Rowan's words through her head with slow, steady steps, avoiding getting close to any given spectator before she found herself close enough to properly see what was actually going on.
Rowan was right in that the viewers were fixated on the cheer squad, though Saiko felt isolated among the crowd, which only worsened whenever a nearby spectator gave her a passing glance or identifying look. To push down feelings, Saiko simple kept steady breaths and tried to pick out any of her fellow classmates among the club, something she had no prior knowledge of, being that she barely kept up with the happenings of her fellow peers.
Among the crowds of people, she picked out only a few. Rowan, of course, was the obvious noticed figure, being that she was the one that even incentivized her to come and watch to begin with. There was also Arisu, which shared her class, though aside from that she had no other grasp of what type of person she was, or anything else about her. She also picked out Sean from scanning the many people watching, who was spectating the show himself. Much like Arisu, she barely knew anything about the tan skinned student, which only reminded Saiko how little she had interacted with anyone for the most part.
And from there...nobody. There were a few other viewers that sported the UA dress code, and a few other among the cheerleaders, but none that she knew personally. It didn't help her feel any less distant, despite Rowan words. In an attempt to calm herself, she kept a watchful eye on Rowan in particular, only because Saiko had ultimately showed up because of her. When Saiko thought there was a chance that Rowan might notice her, saiko gave a meek, skittish wave to the other student.
However, it was immediately shot down as the nearby crowds erupted into applause and cheers, a result of the performance coming to a close the the groups initial act. Saiko shrunk back instinctively, flinching slightly and lowering her head as if she was ready to be struck. Without thinking, she maneuvered towards the outer edges of the viewers, were it was less congested before simply awaiting for the crowds to mostly disperse at a meandering pace.
Even if the performance was worth the attention and deserved the praise, Saiko couldn't find it in her to bring that same energy that others, whether cheerleader or spectator, brought the the rally. At least the others seemed to be motivated and inspired. At the very least, Saiko could say that she showed up. Hopefully Rowan would notice and be happy. It would probably be best she left now though, since the spectacle was over, and it seemed Rowan was occupied with another student speaking with her.

HEY YOUNG BLOOD DOESN'T IT FEEL LIKE TIME IS RUNNING OUT? The dance was going well, she thought for a second she would be exhausted but maybe talking, working things out in her brain had worked very well, she danced, she threw up her pompons, she used the little bits of firework that she could get with her quirk and smiled and continued to dance. Her eyes looking for people that she might know if only her mom had come, she saw parents or well she guessed they were parents as she knew quite okay who the list of pro-heroes were but there might be a few here and there. Why were they actually here if they were, no, it were probably just parents. She noticed Sean and waved at him when she had the time, hopefully, he would notice. She was glad to see him, now it felt like she was actually performing for people she knew which was nicer. Her golden eyes continued to scan the crowd, making sure Hye-Rin had enough space for her flip and she was okay with that. Rowan didn't dare, but she had said that it was okay during practice.
The cheerleaders continued and she found Saiko, oh she did come! Rowan had been afraid that their conversation was too abrash and that she had started on the wrong foot, but Saiko was tougher than the conversation had been. She found the wave cute and she happily waved back, who knew, maybe she had not been a failure so much herself. She looked at Saiko for a bit longer before turning her eyes to look to the rest of the people. When she noticed him, she stumbled and quickly had to fix her mistake so no one would notice by making a jump and a yell and continuing on. She felt her heart rate go faster and a blush crept up on her cheeks, she stared at her feet while trying to get back into the set of the cheerleaders, the rhythm was fine, her pulse just too fast. She finally dared to look up again. She did not linger too long on looking at Haru, because she would fail her routine again and she had the stirring of Rowan in the back of her mind, Lady was still in power, and that should be the way.
When the dance was over, she quickly muttered a thank you to the other cheerleaders and blended into the crowd to get the box and her bag. She put it in there when she looked up at Haru and noticed very well that her blush was returning quickly enough. "A-ah thank you." She said and even if Lady tried to not give in, she smiled, "I told you to call me Rowan though." She looked away shortly to see if she had everything, why could she just not shut up and why did she feel so weak when Haru was around. Like she did not know what to say and even instructing her feet to walk was a difficult task. "No, I want to." She said instantly when Haru-kun said it was fine too if she had something else to do... no, we don't want to? What the hell. She held her own wrist to not fiddle with her hands and took her bag in her free hand and walked with Haru, it would be nice to relax a bit.

Melody felt exhausted the night before the pep rally, she had stayed up all night anticipating the festival to the point where she didn't sleep. She honestly almost over slept for the pep rally but her final alarm she had set managed to wake her up. She rushed to get ready and dress herself for the occasion, she grabbed her pompoms and bolted out the door of the dorms. Everyone else was there already except for her, ugh what would her mother say? She managed to get to the location barely in the nick of time for the performance, she tied her hair up in a pony tail and stood in her spot like they had barely rehearsed. She wondered if the other girls knew what to do since they barely got to practice. She also kept in mind her practice with Rowan and the girl's concerns over the performances the cheerleader were doing.
She was going to have to give it her all then huh? Melody managed to do the routine flawlessly thanks to her dancing practices. She noticed a couple of the girls had minor mistakes but hopefully nobody really noticed. She packed up her stuff and headed back to the dorm to get some more sleep cause she was still exhausted.

Post by Farrah di Prima on Mar 14, 2019 0:39:39 GMT -4
Farrah had given the sports festival a full tour, shared a miniature date with her girlfriend, met the other participants in her main event rescue operation, and even hung out with Rowan, the cheer team captain, for a bit. She mused over how much fun she had managed to get in and smiled to herself. She still wore her cheerleader uniform, with her black hero coat and accessories draped over her arm. "What a wonderful time! I'm full of vigor! And I hop that in this respite before heroic rigor, I have managed to serve my school like a hero! Because the time left before the big event is approaching zero!" she chuckled to herself.
Her mood suddenly went from cheer to panic as nearby noises revealed that she had, indeed, forgotten one element of the cheer team's obligations: the pep rally, which she had tentatively implied she would join, during the practice before the Sports Festival. It looked like about half or maybe a little more of the students had showed up, from a distance: the staunch leader, Rowan! The kinetic dynamo, Jisa! The flowery, button-cute Hye-Rin! The responsible and omnipresent Arisu! And the blessedly almost as late to show up as she was Melody! She just needed to find a discrete way to join in and pretend she'd been dancing the whole time.
... That proved to be impossible; she began with an eye-catching powerslide across the grass, throwing aside the spare parts of her costume and waving one pom-pom above her head, only to realize that the music that Rowan had turned on was already near its end. "Galaxiiiies, spin and swirl! A lovely, bouncy cheer, unfurled!" she began/ended, as the music, almost immediately, came to an end. Still smiling despite the awkwardness of her arrival, she adjusted her shades, smirked, and hopped up to her feet, pressing her fist holding a pom-pom to the hip of her skirt. "Among these heavenly bodies, I am a Galaxy! And I radiate energy for all to see! I'll dance to the heat death of the universe! Me tiring out could never come first!" she informed the other students gathered around, kicking one leg high into the air and raising the roof to some unheard tune.
"Aaaand I'm fashionably late, so I hope you'll report to the wide open field of friendly sport! There our students are shedding their sweat, and with you in the audience, they'll fight harder yet!" she informed the audience members, sounding as though she was speaking to someone particular, but actually just pointing to random audience members. She tipped her sunglasses down and gave a wink. "Let my enthusiasm be your guide! Join UA's galaxies in smiling wide!" she encouraged them, then did a dance that looked suspiciously like an old-fashioned cabbage patch. Farrah was the type that could keep pep rallying forever, even without an audience, so hopefully those assembled would go about their business and not try to wait around for her to finish.

Post by Emi Ryoko Tachibana on Mar 15, 2019 12:57:41 GMT -4
Advertising: the act of calling attention to a product, service, idea, need etc. Most commonly thought of as the obnoxious, intrusive pop-ups wedging themselves into every article and feed, some preferred to see the art in a positive light. Like Emi, for example. She was all to used to being the outspoken one in any situation, so why not add one more idea to the pile? Having to create her own following from nothing had given her something of an appreciation for the art. Yes, horrible, annoying ads existed, but advertising had far, far more to offer than that. It could be used to push life-changing services, or introduce a person to their latest comfort, or push a vision worth sharing with the world.
In this case, the idea that quirkers were humans too.
A no-brainer, without a doubt, to most of the festival-goers, but the world wasn’t made up of them. It had clueless, ignorant, confused and frightened everyday people that didn’t know the first thing about a quirk, nor anybody that had one. They had to be shown the truth. They had to be advertised to. Once upon a time, Emi Ryoko Tachibana had only cared about the views, but it was hard to work so passionately on sharing an idea without starting to believe in it. That didn’t mean she couldn’t care about both, of course, but at least she had good intentions when she approached her soon-to-be stars.
She’d never felt a burning desire for their school to have a cheer squad, but really, what high school was complete without one? The heralds of high spirits, and presumably a group of very attractive young girls. She could’ve fit right in, if she wasn’t juggling hero catch-up, her uTube, Instasnap and the Report Club. The least she could do, then, was support their efforts and give them the exposure they deserved. If not for her ideas, if not for the views, then for her friends. Armed with the club’s DSLR camera, she caught them through the lens. Rowan, taking charge – it seemed that their chat about confidence had gone a long way. Arisu and Hye-Rin, a bit more skimpily dressed than Emi had expected, but still energetic and adorable. There were some unfamiliar face with them too – a girl that could challenge her for the title of Motormouth, a cute blue-haired girl, and a small bunny mutant turned mascot. Personally, Emi would have never let herself be used as a gimmick, but hey, some people were just eager to be involved. Still, he (she?) was part of the group, and so Emi made sure to include them as such. She weaved in and out of the crowd, pink ponytail occasionally popping up, only for the camera to appear above it. Fortunately, cheerleading by definition called for a range of dynamic poses. There was no need for her to direct them, and therefore distract them, for the sake of a stellar shot.
So she waited until the crowd began to disperse before she made herself known. If the sight of her, camera and all, wasn’t obvious enough once the area began to empty, then she’d give them a little hint… By way of a quick hop, making space for a square foot cube of salt to materialise beneath her feet. A cube that rapidly grew up to raise her three feet above the ground. With the lens already trained on what remained of the squad, she called for their attention. “Nicely done, ladies! Let’s get a big smile and a pose for UA Today!” And some B-roll for her own videos, but she would never use that without their permission… Right?
