PERSONALITY POSITIVE ✔ Empathetic ✔ Loyal ✔ Focused ✔ Studious ✔ Observant NEGATIVE ✖ Lethargic ✖ Guarded ✖ Aloof ✖ Apprehensive ✖ Blunt ✖ Insecure LIKES ✔ Salty foods, Animals, Video Games, Reading, Music (Particularly eurobeat), Dark colors (Purple and green especially), Showers, Athletics, Action Shows, Passionate people DISLIKES ✖ Judgmental people, Prudish people, Chauvinism, Feeling helpless or useless, Extreme temperatures (specifically the cold), Extreme pride, Brash/bullheaded people PERSONALITY Saiko is a loner by nature. With a lack of interest in social activity, she doesn't communicate especially well and can come off as cold, distant and rude. Sarcasm and bluntness only make things worse when there are those that can't handle her uninterested tone. However, that isn't to say she rejects companionship. If someone approaches or attempts to befriend her, she won't push that person away. As long as they are genuine in their intention, since Saiko if guarded by nature and it might take time. Saiko holds bonds well, and is empathetic, especially if it is someone close to her. It isn't often that she shows much emotions, Saiko can explode if pushed, though this is rare and needs extreme pushing. If it does happen, it is likely because her friends are in danger, or people dig into her fear of feeling helpless. In regards to emotions, she also has difficulties being shown attention and praise. Her usual cold and reserved personality becomes more timid and bashful, and likely more quiet than she already is. Due to her quirk and body lacking strong physical capabilities, Saiko has decided to focus more on other aspects such as her intelligence. Researching and analyzing situations is largely what she relies on, and will seek to utilize weaknesses more than her own strengths to win or escape a danger. She follows instructions well and won't break rules unless absolutely necessary. This carries over to her determination and focus when on a certain task, which is polar opposite to her largely slothful personality outside of doing something she either wants to do or was instructed to do. Because of this, Saiko can seem lazy and presents a lack of care for daily life, such as her appearance and chores. Convincing Saiko can be difficult as she stubborn to an extent, needing to nearly be dragged to do something new or unassigned, but once started, she takes the matter deathly serious. Though Saiko is competitive, it isn't to the point of harming the mood. People with loud personalities tend not to mesh well with Saiko, though her view of the person can change like anything else. People that take matters seriously are a positive for her, though humor and jokes are fine as long as they are well placed and not frequent. Don't expect to get much reaction out of Saiko though. Saiko eats frequently, which is suspected to be a side effect of the quirk, and because she lacks both cooking skills and care to make something properly, she has a rather unhealthy diet most of the time. Saiko does frequent athletic activities though, so it isn't as bad as it could be. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 163cm WEIGHT: 46Kg HAIR/STYLE: Naturally saphire - teal or wine with quirk / wavy SKIN/SCARS: Pale; Small scars on arms, back and shoulders EYES: Rounded and Deep Blue NOTABLES: Appearance differs greatly based on her quirk and how much she takes care of it. Saiko isn't the most fashion eccentric of people. Partly because of uninterest and partly because of her quirk making dressing a disaster, she mostly wears whatever fits. Sometimes long, other times short. Frankly, Saiko will wear almost anything that won't melt from the oils of her hair. Jackets and heavier clothing does tend to be preferred though as anything lighter doesn't do well. When not outside, she has little care. Clothing is preferred in darker color, but not mandatory. Her hair varies greatly from day to day or even hour to hour, as it is entirely dependent on her quirk. Saiko has had her hair both long and short, and doesn't entirely have a preference either way. Just whatever she is currently in the mood for. It is currently long. It tends to be wavy. Hard emotions are usually a rarity to ever be seen readable on Saiko's face, though some might describe her as having a pouty or forlorn look to her, while others describe it as harsh and cold or even dull, similar to a robot. It is said that her smile a glowing one, but it is so uncommon that it has become a mere myth to many. Saiko's general tending to herself can range widely depending on her mood. Sometimes she looks proper, while other days she looks like a disheveled, ragged mess. Some days, Saiko just doesn't feel like dealing with her problematic hair and the quirk attached to it. The oil the hair produces ranges in colors, though a yellowish-green or dark green seem to be the closest comparison. This results in a multitude of colors her hair has appeared as, and making her base hair color a rare sight to all but those closest to Saiko. Saiko has a number of tiny or minor scars all over her body, though particularly the arms, shoulders, and back. This is a result of her childhood and early teens where saiko had things regularly thrown or used to hit her by the various bullies that harassed her. |
❛❛I don't ever want to feel like I did that day❜❜ |
HISTORY Saiko was born in 2056 in the city of Osaka to a loving mother and father. The particular town she lived in was one that was in a power struggle, with the rise of quirkers causing both crime rates and discrimination to increase on a common basis. Her father, a quirker himself at the age of twenty one, kept to himself for a majority of the infantile part of her childhood. Life was one of quiet peace, though this wasn't meant to last. When Saiko hit the age of six, she had revealed her early developement of her own quirk, which her mother feared might prove difficult for the young girl. Quirks and those that had them were on the rise, but they were still hard to accept, especially with crime at an all time high, and many of those criminals happened to also be quirkers. This went on for three years, and the young girls mutation became well known around the town at the age of nine. The escalating tension didn't specifically land on the parents, and when it became clear that both law enforcement and his family was in ever growing danger, Saiko's father could no longer simply sit back and let it slide. Donning the self appointed title of 'Ironclad Valor' after learning he was not alone in his beliefs, he joined together with the few vigilantes that sought peace and safety for all in the area. Despite this, Saiko's mother was unfortunately right in her concerns, and Saiko became the prime target of much harrassment, a mixed result of her fathers actions and the lack of other quirkers among those that lived in the town. Saiko's quirk, slick slime, earned no love either, and was one that was difficult to ignore even by those that were indifferent to quirkers living amongst them. The young girl became reserved and quiet because of this, but all the same looked up to her father instead of spiting him. Her parents loved her, and that was all that really mattered to Saiko. Ironclad Valor was a hero in her eyes, and nothing would change that. As time went on, and the town started to notice the impact of the vigilanties such as her father had in Osaka, and a glowing reputation for the family was created. Ironclad Valor started regularly aiding law enforcement, whom accepted and appreciated his work and cooperation. Though it wasn't an official pardon or hired work, they mutually respected each others works, and no charges were officially pressed as long as he didn't push any limits. This didn't stop other children from pressuring Saiko over her quirk, which was becoming a struggle to maintain at the age of ten. Despite believing that she didn't need companionship and friends, the targeting became worse and worse as her quirk became a nuisance for most. Saiko became resentful of her own body, seeing nothing useful in it and creating nothing but a mess and forcing more work for everybody around her to accomidate her circumstances. Her self esteem had hit an all time low at the age of twelve, and Saiko started to begin to shut down. The regular cleaning of her clothing and own person started to lessen, and she became silent to all except family or those of authority. Her life made a turn around, however, when a group of two other quirkers had moved in nearby and learned of her negative status amongst the other children. Saiko, though struggling with the sudden change of having friends, started opening up again. Though intelligent, Saiko had been struggling with grades because of her doubt and regret. With her new friends though, they started to bounce back and even started helping her with the difficulties of her quirk. Only Saiko could ultimately maintain it, but she started to see hope again and was forever grateful of her friends. Her parents, which were once at a loss in how to help their daughter, were now more supportive of the young girl's quirk than they had even been before. Her father especially had been attempting to aid her with controlling her quirk. It was Saiko though who asked Ironclad Valor to help her with at least minor training, to which he excitedly agreed. Her mother wasn't as supportive, simply out of fear for her daughters safety, but accepted in the end. This went on for close to three years, though her father couldn't fully train his daughter because they did not share the same quirk. None the less, her father suggested looking into registering to the rumored UA school which was supposedly being built. Saiko didn't fully understand the concept, and couldn't see her power ever being useful, largely because of her past. Though she had learned to deal with her quirk, she still resented it to a degree and never got over that. However, her love and pride in her father's work at least opened an ear to the idea. If it meant aiding in a good cause, Saiko would take up the consideration. However, a drastic change in her life shifted everything. At the age of fifteen One of the two close friends, had been murdered. An apparent robbery situation had taken place, and the girl had tried to use her quirk to stop the criminal. Though Saiko wasn't there when it happened, it was hard to avoid hearing the news in a town more accepting of quirkers than ever before. A young girl, gunned down for simply trying to defend those that couldn't defend themselves. The news hit Saiko hard, along with her other close friend. The two started talking to each other less, simply out of mourning and loss. The boy that had been her other close friend dropped all asperations of heroic work out of dismay that he might succumb to the same fate. Though they don't meet in person anymore, they do occasionally pen each or chat via the internet. Saiko, however, took a different route. What was once nothing but rage, depression and emptiness, became something more. She decided to take up her late friends hopes and dreams as her own, and decided to enroll in Yuuei. Though she still largely doubted and feared rejection regarding her quirk, Saiko was commited enough to pursue the option. At the age of sixteen, she had officially been accepted among the ranks of Yuuei. The start of her full training would start now. Saiko only wishes to live up to her parents good reputation and the memory of her dear friend. Would the same follow Saiko, or would she be doomed to being a burden? |
