--- emi's exclusives --- - secret episode: a call to arms - A familiar face appeared on the screen – or at least, one that thought it was familiar to the audience. It would certainly explain the lack of introduction. Where the girl usually opened her videos with a perky smile, she looked discontent. Mildly annoyed, even. “Hey. Sooooo. I’m sure most of you have seen, or are seeing Tokyo5 right now. I’m watching it live now. Crazy masked coward won’t even show his face, but he’s spouting a lot of shit that’s going to cause us trouble.” Emi blinked. “Wait, I can’t swear if teachers are going to see this, can I? …Pretend I said poop. Anyway, whatever he’s going to say, one thing’s pretty clear. I’m not agreeing with any guy that resorts to terrorism to get his point across. I’m hoping nobody at a school for heroes in training is actually agreeing with a guy calling for a civil war, but hopefully we can see eye to eye on that much, right?”
“So. No doubt this’ll be all over the news channels soon. Everybody will be talking about the crazy quirker that wants to bring chaos to Japan, and everybody will be looking at us like we’re criminals in the making. Again. We’re going to curb that – together.”
“Here’s the plan. Get out your phone or your camera – anything works, as long as it picks up sound and an image well. Record yourself. I need a name, preferably a face, and your class. Something like ‘hi, I’m Emi from Class 1-B.’ Then, you give your thoughts on the matter. I can already see the school chatroom lighting up. I know lots of you have something to say about this. Make it known. We’re going to tell the world – and we’re going to do it by showing our faces, which is more than that dumbass villain is doing right now. Speak your mind, but I want to get this one sentence from all of you. ‘He does not speak for us.’ Upload the video to some file-sharing site and send it my way. Pretty simple stuff, right? And if it isn’t obvious enough already, I’ll stitch the videos together and upload them.” Text flashed underneath her face: TO MY CHANNEL ARE YOU HAPPY NOW SAITO
She paused, letting out a heavy sigh. “I get it. Half of you are allergic to the camera. Half of you are probably thinking this will never work. Sure, one student’s uTube channel isn’t going to draw nearly as many eyes as a broadcast hijacking. But fuc- …I- We can’t just sit here and do nothing. We might not be able to fight him physically, but we can at least try to fight his ideology. This’ll only work if it’s a group effort – if people can be brave and show that they’re not afraid. So, just this once, get your camera rolling. Hopefully I’ll hear from you guys soon. See ya.”
OOC: Today I’m experimenting with a different type of thread! This is open to any character with access to the UA chatroom, which is where the video would be uploaded. To participate, please post your character’s video as a reply to this thread! It doesn’t need to be long, so long as it shows what your character is willing to say to the camera.

Post by Saito Yamada on Dec 30, 2018 21:26:53 GMT -4
Saito had no freaking clue what the hell he was doing. Standing in front of a noodle bar, staring at his phone’s camera settings, trying to make sense of all the weird terminology. What was metering supposed to fucking mean? Well, regardless, Emi had dragged him into another of her odd plans. She wanted to start a ripple of vlog responses to her own little vlog response on a broadcast hijacking which was ALSO a response to Semper Fi. Some quirkers go themselves a spot on prime tv and were currently doing… something. Saito clocked out quick. He didn’t care about the opinions of some crybaby who thinks quirkers are getting the short end of the stick. So, there he was. About to tell Emi’s… intimidatingly large audience that he, Yamada Saito, disagreed with terrorists. He was certain no one would care just because he said so, but Emi managed to convince him anyways. Pretty easily too… Saito scoffed at the thought, bringing the phone to about eye-level, hoping he’s not catching anyone in the noodle place.
An unfamiliar face stuttered into picture. A boy with lightly tanned, dark skin and trimmed, chin-length white hair. His eyes glittered like an seascape – He squints. “I-Is it record-“The boy straightened a bit, lips thinning and eyes opening wide, as if he was dropped before a ravenous animal that threatened to eat him up. “Hello! I-I’m Yamada Saito, a – um – student at Yuuei Academy.” His expression was a bit anxious. Stage fright? “I bet’ch’ve been watching this broadcast? On Tokyo5. Some masked terrorist ass thinks it’d be cool to start shouting stuff like it means something. Trying to-“ he gulped, eyes darting from the camera lens. “Trying to incite some kind of quirker rebellion? Like, who the fuck does this guy think he is? Who’s gunna listen to some terrorist? Right? I mean, I bet he thinks he’s all impressive, breaking into a tv station. How many people has this asshole already hurt? I dunno what happened at Semper Fi, but I know it doesn’t justify whatever bullshit he’s trying to stir up.”He steps away from the storefront, looking irritated. Oh, is he trying to remember something? Something his friend told him to say? He seems to remember, because he smiles a resolute, hyped smile. “No matter what happens today… No matter how many this dickhead hurts, no matter what he says and what he demands, all yall gotta remember one super important thing, ‘kay? He. Does not. Speak for us. Ya got that? He don’t speak for anyone at U.A, or for any quirker at all. He’s just some loudmouth who’s gonna get planted when the pro’s show up! Remember that, asshole! You think you’re tough? You think you got voice? You’re nothin’!”He recoils a bit. Seems he noticed how into it he was going. He clears his throat, obviously embarrassed. ”Yeah… And stuff…” He frowns, bringing the camera right up to his stupid, stupid, stupid, handsome face. “Emi. You. Owe. Me.”With that, the video ends.
Saito let out a deep, flustered breath. Hopefully that’s what she needed. Saito spent the next few minutes working out how the hell he shares a video file from his phone. Jeez… He just wanted the situation handled already…

As the video starts, red eyes stare into the camera with an intensity that few could match. The delinquent was sitting with his face taking up most of the screen with brown hair styled to look less wild for once in his life. A deep facial scar, approximately four inches, was prominent on the left side of the boy’s face and went down slightly past his jawline out of view. This photo would be posted on his social media accounts, which had considerable traffic since the Semper Fi event as well as being sent Emi as she requested because he had an additional idea on top of what she was doing.
”My name is Alexander Deraine from Class 1-C at Yuuei High. As many of you might know already, unlike the masked clown over there at the news station right now I was actually at the Semper Fi military camp. My injuries there have been reported many times before ever since the news articles flooded in and some footage came out, but I’ll reiterate. Two bullets embedded themselves into my left shoulder so far that they had to be surgically removed on the field. One bullet hit me square on the helmet I was wearing and gave me a concussion so bad I wasn’t back to normal for almost a month.”
The angle wasn’t completely steady, and it was clear that the boy was holding his phone in his hand as he talked and paced around what looked to be an open field. Students might recognize the area as Ground Alpha, where Alex spent much of his time training and building new courses for Hero Operations.
”The feed isn’t done yet, and I’m not sure if this’ll do anything but my classmate had an idea that a bunch of us speak up against this kind of bullshit. This terrorist doesn’t speak for me, and he doesn’t speak for quirkers. Each and every single student in this school came here because they wanted to be a Pro. They wanted to put their lives on the line in order to protect others and keep them safe. We’re not there yet. We have a lot more training to go, and I know that this might sound frustrating as hell to some of you at home. Why can’t you go over there and stop those people right now and save the day like heroes are supposed to, you might be asking yourself…”
There was a pause there, and then a sigh. It was a common refrain he had seen a lot of, and he was quite frankly sick of it. He wanted to nip that line of questioning and misplaced blame in the bud immediately, before it even started this time. His classmates didn’t deserve to be vilified and shit on by randoms at home for not ‘stepping up to the occasion’ or whatever. It wasn’t fair.
”Almost all of us are between the ages of fourteen and sixteen. I’ve seen a lot of the comments made by a lot of you in the articles on Semper Fi and my own pages, and I don’t think that’s put out enough. None of us are even old enough to enlist in the military, or serve as a police officer, or any of those things. This is not intended as an excuse, but rather just me saying point blank what a lot of you are asking for. Those who comment about how U.A. should just send students to handle these terrorist actions are wanting fourteen year old kids to do the jobs of trained military, police, and other professionals without any of that training or experience.”
There was a pause as suddenly the walking stopped and the delinquent pulled his arm out a bit so that a little more than his face was shown. He was wearing his U.A. uniform, cleaned and pressed to perfection like it normally was. He didn’t usually wear it outside like this outside of class hours, but he did it on purpose here. He did it to make a statement, because that fucker didn’t speak for U.A.
”Insane people will rally behind anything to justify the awful things that they do. The Nazis thought that the Germans were the next evolution of humanity, too, and spouted a lot of the same nonsense that the sock head at Tokyo Five is spewing right now. Back then, that didn’t mean that all Germans were bad forever. It meant that some Germans were messed up in the head and used justified violence using whatever they could get their hands on. It’s the same thing here. Quirkers, like every other group of people, have their nutjobs. Those nutjobs will identify with anything that makes them think they’ll get the attention of other nutjobs to go out and join them. That’s how they work. That’s how they’ve always worked.”
This next part might be jumping the gun a bit, but this was definitely an organized attack by a bunch of psychotic freaks… and being helpless news casters around a bunch of highly violent psychotic freaks didn’t tend to work out too well. In fact, it tended to go rather terribly. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out there would be deaths or at the very least serious injuries to result from this attack… it was how nutjobs worked after all.
”While I can’t go out there and try and save the day like a Pro, I can do my part to help as a citizen and as a human being. I’ve posted the link of a fundraiser for the victims of this attack down below, and I encourage everyone to share the hell out of this to get more people’s attention. We can all do a little bit to help the recovery after tragedies like this even as we all wait for the Pros and the police to do their job and get those sick bastards.”
The camera feed cut out, then, as suddenly as it began. Alex had said his piece.

Post by Naoru Kehai on Dec 31, 2018 14:36:21 GMT -4
Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures The recording started as a white haired teen boy’s face came into view. At first, he looked away from the screen, discomfort showing on his face, but soon, he was able to look up and right at the possible viewer. White locks fell into his eyes, eyes with red irises, and blackened sclera. Reddish lines criss-crossed the left side of his face, a stigma from his mutation. He was wearing the winter uniform of Yuuei High, but on top of that, there was an ever swirling white substance settling itself around his shoulders like an extra layer of cloth. All of this made it painfully obvious that he was one of the qurikers. “My name is Naoru Kehai from class 1-C of Yuuei High.” His tone was void of the shyness that his behavior and kind face would suggest. It was clean and determined. He was sitting in a simple dorm room, the back wall and his door barely visible behind him. “I have decided to make this recording upon the request of a dear schoolmate...” it is for you, Emi..., “and in answer to the broadcasting that I am sure many people have seen already.” He took a deep breath. He had so many emotions about the situation, but when it came to actually saying it all, he was never really good at it. “My name... might be familiar to a few people who have seen news of what happened at Semper Fi. I am one of the survivors of what transpired there.” He looked down for a short moment, as if unsure, the camera shook just a little bit as he held it up – like many of his friends, he used his phone for the recording. “I am sure those who have wronged us there were only of the minority. Not everyone wants our demise. The same is true for us, quirkers.” Those who knew Naoru well would find this recording incredibly out of character. He was withdrawn, quiet, rarely speaking his mind openly. Least of all, he never talked with such certainty. But things changed. They all changed. For the better or worse, only time might tell. “When we see something bad happen with one of our friends, one of our classmates, one of our schoolmates, our first action is to rush there immediately.” His tone turned slightly solemn as he brushed a lock of hair out of his eyes – a movement he rarely did a few months before. He wasn’t intending to hide now. “Ask our teachers how many times they had to stop us from acting on our own, possibly endanger our own lives just to save others. We saw the broadcast from Tokyo Five, and we want to help the civilians, despite being mere teenagers, future heroes in training. Even if we can not rush there, we can do one thing. We can make sure everyone knows that this group does not speak for us.”He could have started to talk about how he and many of his mutant friends were always hurt and prejudiced against. How even those that appear to be normal but still are quirkers were hurt as children. But he wasn’t doing this to ask for pity. “We are here for quirkers and non-quirkers alike.” His voice was nearly authoritative, as if full of pride, as if knowing that he wasn’t the only one sharing this sentiment. “We are human, just like everyone else. The whole school is in an uproar, because we know that this person... this group is wrong. I am sure we are not the only ones feeling this way. Quirkers out there, I ask you all to realize that there are other ways to reach peace. Those without quirks, I ask you all to see that we are not the enemy. He does not speak for us.” He quieted down, expression softening slightly. “Thank you for listening.” Was the last thing he said before the recording was cut. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Miku saw Emi's video, her call to arms. She also saw on live TV how villains took over a broadcast station. They were spouting pro Quirker nonsense. Action had to be taken, Emi was right, they couldnt fight them physically, but they could fight their ideology. Miku agreed and decided to help the cause As a uTuber she had a camera ready and a tripod. So her video response would not be too amatuerish or shaky. She did all of this from the comfort of her dorm room. She prepared the camera that would look at her desk and chair. Miku set her chair and turned herself to the camera. She turned the camera on which started recording "Hi, Emi. I'm first sending this unedited to you, so you can get my reply to this subject as soon as possible, although if you want, I can properly edit the video for you, in case you have your hands full of these replies. So, yeah, imma start this now" Miku said and too a small pause so the video could be easily edited later. Rather then if it was nonstop talking, it could be hardr to edit as some words may get cut off or whatnot And with that the video properly started "Hello. My name is Miku Hanabira, I am a UA High School student of Class 1B. Now, I am sure you saw this terrible broadcast that spoke some nonsense about 'retribution' for Semper Fi to the Quirked." Miku said the word retribution with air quotes "Well, I am here to dispell some misconception. And by that I mean that those villanous hooligans do not speak for me. Not now, not ever. They are bad apples that bring shame to us as human beings. You see, I despise the term Quirker, Quirked, Quirkless. Those are just words that divide us more. Quirk or no Quirk, we are human beings first and last. We are all humans, nothing more and nothing less. I made this video as a part of a team effort from us UA students, we wanted to spread the truth to all of you as soon as possible. As a message that you should know that those villains do not speak for us, whether you are" she sighs as she's forced to say the terms "Quirked or not" she hated the terms Quirked, that could be seen on her face "we will always protect you and stand beside you. So...erm.. forgive me if my thoughts or sentences are disjointed or disconnected or repetitive. I wanted to act as soon as possible, as this isnt quite calm, collected, organized or scripted. I wanted to get this message out and be as honest and transparent as possible. And well, seeing it is the 22nd, it is Christmas in 3 days. Please forget this negativity and please everyone stay safe and have a merry christmas. Love Miku and the rest of UA" at the end of the video she made a heart shape with her handsDuring the entire recording she spoke in a 'calm', honest, humble, empathizing and transparent tone. She wanted to get her message across and be a voice for those who might be too shy for a video
Miku then waited for a moment quietly in her pose from the last sentence and frame, as to make her ending easier to edit out. She then leaned toward the camera and ended her recording, and sent it to Emi, along with a DM Miku DM to Emi: I did my part for the cause, if you want, I can spread the word to my dad. He's a uTuber, maybe he can get the word even out of UA, to show that not only us students feel the same?

Post by Rin Kurama on Jan 1, 2019 7:30:09 GMT -4
WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin had been spending some time in detention. It wasn't as bad as the girl had initially suspected. In fact, aside from a slap over the wrirst followed by an ascertion that Rin wouldn't be doing it again, the girl had been left mostly to her own devices. Which meant studying and watching the news. News that were anything but comfortable to watch. Following this, Emi Tachibana had decided to gather statements from the students. So, Rin had decided to send in her statement. In the process of doing so, it became painfully obvious how terrible the girl was with technology, as the focus of the camera wasn't the best, until eventually it auto-adjusted midway through her little speech. Initially, the girl was also somewhat nervously stuttering. From her appearance, it was also clear that she had written down what she wanted to say. "H-hello... My name is Kurama Rin, class president and student of 1-A at Yuuei. These individuals who raided a broadcast station and put a horrifying scene on display do not speak for me, nor do they represent my opinions. To me, they are nothing more than terrorists, using the Semper Fi tragedy to further divide Japan's population. There is no us and them. All quirk wielders were, at one point, from quirkless families. We are all humans, we are all family. Families stand together in times of crisis. Families protect each other.
Here at Yuuei, we, the students, are trained and taught that anyone innocent deserve protection from injustice. We make no difference between quirk wielders and non-quirkers. Thus, my message to these terrorists is a simple one. You will not divide us. We will stand together, and we will bring you to justice. Do not let these acts of terrorism shake the foundation upon which heroism is built.
Yours truly, Rin."With the message and vlog sent to Emi, Rin drew a breath of relief. Now she could return quietly to her studies. In an effort to not receive any further bad news, the girl turned her phone off, placing it on the desk in front of her. It was about time that she got a little peace and quiet from the turmoiltious world that was unfolding outside. Though, she had to appreciate what Emi was trying to do. If the villains were going to utilize propaganda to their advantage, then the only thing heroes could do in response, was to respond on the same platform. It had become a battle to win. Either by employing or by defeating fear mongering. Though Rin suspected that these actions, at the very least, would have the most bitter quirk wielders still join his cause... The days ahead were dark.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Once the video started to play, a face was looking offscreen for a moment before facing the camera. The girl had dark skin and a disgruntled expression on her face. Only her shoulders and head could be seen in view as she fiddled with the phone a bit. The picture in the video rocked back and forth as she adjusted the camera to get a decent profile of her. ANd once all was said and done, the girl cleared her throat and looked directly at the thing. For those that paid attention to the past events in Musutafu, her face might have been familiar. Before Semper Fi, another incident involved the school that had some ramifications. Lani, with the help of Jinn and the valiant efforts of all the other students there at the time, had caught the person behind the tragedy of the Kunshu Festival. She didn't really want the attention, nut the spotlight had shined on her for the short time. ANd since then, Lani had kind of just kept out of the limelight. As confident as she was, she didn't want to be too well known. She was basically in hiding after all.
But today was different. Today, some nonsense was being done and she wasn't going to stand for it. A pro quirk terrorist group had made a declaration to the country and she refused to stand by and let it happen. She wanted to deal with it all herself. She wanted to take down villains of all kinds. But this kind of sentiment was just ridiculous. How quickly people forgot where they came from and who they were. So Lani made this video and she spoke loudly, proudly, and without falter.
"Ay! This is Lani of Yuuei. CLass 1-B and as some of you know, the one that caught that asshole that caused the shit that happened at the Kunshu Festival. Y'all already know I don't stand for the nonsense. Evildoers and villains are out there doing the bad shit they do. Whether they had quirks or not, some people think they are just better than others and can change the world for their liking. And these assholes at Tokyo 5? They are the same. Just like that Kunshu jerk and just like those idiots at Semper Fi. They are just another group that thinks they can do whatever they want and hurt other people. But here at this academy, we are heroes. You've seen the exploits from the people here before and this time will be no different. Assholes like these get crushed and the police and heroes will crush them. It doesn't matter whether they have quirks or not, they won't be allowed to harm everyone. I can promise you that!"
Lani's tone was serious throughout the whole thing. She spoke with conviction and without hesitation. It was different than what one would expect from a teenager. But when Lani put her mind on something, she was pretty dead set on that thing. Whether or not her abrasive attitude was welcomed or not, one thing was certain. Lani was on the side of justice and she wasn't going to let any criminal hurt those around her, even if they were strangers. 538 | @tagged | notes ulla

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Jan 1, 2019 10:57:34 GMT -4
"Eli, is it - oh."
The video would begin with an initially confused looking girl who quickly took an expression of brief realization and embarrassment. Impeccably Japanese, the young girl would be kneeling upon the floor in her casual attire, simply what she'd had on at the time of her impulse decision to join in. Nonetheless, she seemed dignified and carried herself well, someone clearly used to this overly polite manner of approaching others, even if it was through a screen. With her hair a bright gray and eyes blue as the ocean, the girl who appeared on the video was this clash of tradition and exoticism that quite well paralleled the topic on which she'd be speaking.
Clearing her throat and avoiding any telltale sighs, Tetsuko straightened up and stared right into the camera. Not an intense or accusatory stare, but one of formality and courtesy. Her Grandfather's discipline had taught her well, how to defend one's honor in the presence of those who would question it. Without any further delay, the Japanese girl spoke aloud, firm and collected.
"My name is Tetsuko Shindou. I am a student of Yuuei, Class 1-B. A Quirker, and aspiring Hero. I was... I was present at the Semper Fi incident, so my name may be familiar. I won't hide from that, and though I would like to denounce those mistruths, I'm here now to talk about the disgusting actions of the terrorists who attacked the Channel 5 news station, under the request of a classmate."
Tetsuko's mind was racing with reasons as to why this was a bad idea and reasons why it was a good one, but none of those were worth listening to right now. All her willpower was put on keeping herself still, her hands flat against her lap and breathing steady and calm. She didn't have time for her usual anxieties.
"Many of us... Suffered injustices at Semper Fi. Many of us have suffered discrimination beforehand, and will continue to. But none of us accept these terrorists' so-called justice. We reject their claims of retribution, for they are lawless and unjust. We reject the idea that cowards in masks, speaking in voices not their own, could dare to claim they are representatives of a subset of us. That they stand for anything we stand for. They dared to put themselves forward as though they are fighting for us, but we reject this without question. I know, that some might call Quirkers monsters... So how dare they believe they can make things better by becoming those same monsters."
Her heart was pounding in her chest, chest aching, hands starting to go a bit numb... This was not exactly within Tetsuko's comfort zone, and she was doing all she could to keep her very conscious breathing from being too noticeable. Knowing this was going out there, that so much might end up riding on it, was as much an irrational fear as it was a rational motivator to keep her in line. Avoiding a pause that lasted too long, Tetsuko continued.
"To clarify... When I say 'we', I don't mean Quirkers. I mean we, as students, striving to become Heroes who fight for true justice within the law. I mean we, as my family, of whom I am the first Quirker, who always showed me the importance of being righteous and honorable. I mean we, as a country, who have always understood the importance of duty and unity. We reject the war these terrorists are trying to create, and our Heroes and police will bring them to justice. This is not about Quirkers against Quirkless... Like Semper Fi, this is about the brave and honorable men and women of Japan against detestable, weak, dishonorable, cowardly terrorists who are trying to bring suffering to our citizens... Quirked or not, it doesn't change that fact."
Was she overdoing it? Getting ahead of herself, speaking too fast, overthinking things, etc.? These questions bounced around in Tetsuko's head, and there wasn't really any hope of answering them while the camera was still rolling. Tetsuko gulped down the remainders of her fear, before concluding her thoughts.
"I don't want to end this with a focus on them, so instead, I want to give my sincerest respect to the Pro Heroes and police who will stop these terrorists. Godspeed, and give them hell."
A somewhat awkward pause would follow, Tetsuko's dignified expression cracking just moments before the video ended, as she gestured for Elise to stop the recording. The Shindou girl didn't quite know if it would be enough, if anything she'd said held any water, but damned if it didn't feel good to say it. Except for the whole heart pounding out of her chest thing. For once, Tetsuko felt grateful for her the harsh discipline of her school... It had trained her well enough to keep her panic internalized. That being said, the moment Tetsuko finished recording, she still didn't hesitate to slump backward on the edge of her bed... It was a good thing some closeness by Elise would have it subsiding to manageable soon enough.

"Wait, is this thing on? Oh okay, here we go..."
In truth, Sean was not very experienced with recording video, as he had not done it before. Still, that was not important. After seeing some of the other students make video responses to a certain broadcast going on at Tokyo5 news station, the blue-haired boy felt inspired and compelled to do the same. He decided to just speak from the heart and go with what was on his mind at the time. With a smile and wave of his hand, he greeted whoever would be watching his video.
"Hey, how's it going? I'm Sean. Sean Mizushima, class 1-A of Yuuei."
After the warm greeting, Sean immediately dropped the smile, the cheerfulness, and the laid back attitude. It was time to be serious, and time to show the world that he meant business. He looked into the camera with such a serious gaze, that anyone who personally knew the boy would be unsettled by just how dead serious he was being. Deciding not to sugarcoat anything or hold back, Sean just dived right in.
"Okay look. Right now, there's a bunch of terrorists saying and doing horrible things down at the news station. Yeah, that's right! They're terrorists, criminals, and villains, and nothing more! Don't listen to any of their nonsense, not even for a second! They may have quirks, but they do NOT speak for everyone with a quirk. Just because some people have quirks, that does not put them above everyone else. We're all human! We're all deserving of respect and deserve to show others respect in kind. So please don't think for even a second that we agree with or endorse those idiots making that broadcast, because we don't! We may have quirks, but we're working hard, training hard, and learning from the best to use our abilities for good! To do good! To help everyone live safe and comfortable lives without fear! With great power comes great responsibility. The difference between us students at Yuuei and those terrorists, is that unlike them, we actually have the best interest of the people at heart. They're just coming up with excuses and blaming people to try to justify their villainy! And that ain't cool!"
Sean took several deep breaths before continuing. "I just want to give a huge shout out to the police and to the pro heroes. Both of them help keep the peace and keep criminals like those idiots sending that broadcast at bay. Seriously, thank you! We at Yuuei may be training to become the bright heroes of tomorrow, but all of you wonderful police officers and pro heroes are already being bright today! And you'll all continue to shine brightly. So thank you all so much! Massive props to you true heroes! And please kick those villains' asses to the prison cells that they belong to!"
One more deep breath. "And speaking of those idiots, I don't know if any of you making that dumb broadcast will ever see this. But if you do, then I have this to say to you. Stop it! Get some help! Don't you see that what you're doing is wrong? Misguided? Harmful? All you're doing right now is spreading hate. Sure, there's been plenty of that throughout history, far long before quirks were a thing. But you're only making things worse! We as a society may not be absolutely perfect, that I can admit. But we're trying our best! We're trying to make a difference, a POSITIVE difference. We need to work hard to save lives, not destroy or ruin them! Every life, quirk or no quirk, is equal. And they're all equally worth saving. So if any of you have even a modicum of respect or decency, then stop what you're doing and turn yourselves in. It's not too late to do the right thing."
Sean then bowed in front of the camera. His smile returned. "Thank you for listening in. May all of you wonderful people stay positive, and have a wonderful day! Sean, out!"
...Unfortunately, it took a while for the boy to realize how to stop a recording. "Okay, where's the off switch on this thing?"

Junko was her desk in the classroom, which was empty. She was preparing a lesson for her class until she heard some distressing news from her smartphone. A broadcast tower attacked by dastardly Villains. And she was once again stuck in the school, far away from the action. Once again foiled by children.
But then she saw a student by the name Emi Ryoko Tachibana taking quick action. Junko saw her message and agreed with that. Perhaps she could help out in a different manner? Instead of phyical battles, she would have a battle of ideologies? At least she could contribute one way. She used the camera from her phone to start recording her
"Greetings people of Japan, you may know me as Blue Agate. I am also the UA Homeroom Teacher of Class 1C and I teach the future generation of heroes Foundational Hero Studies. Now that these introductions are out of the way, I will make this message brief and to the point. Do not listen to those Villains Japan. Those hooligans do not speak for me nor my class nor the staff of this establishment. I know I may not be as famous as Darkshine, so my words probably will not reach you. That is alright, because the message should not be sent by me,a Professional. But by the heroes of tomorrow, the students of UA. So now, I will give them the spotlight and let them tell you what they think of this" Junko said
During the video she kept a formal posture and tone. She tied to be as professional as one could by making a video with ther cellular phone from the inside of a classroom

Robin, disheveled in an office chair, bed-head in a bare white shirt. His eyes miss the lens and land somewhere to the side.
“My name’s Robin Engell. I’m a student at UA. Blood type AB. I’m American, so pardon my Japanese in advance.”
He sighs.
“Quirkers are just people. We want things and crave attention and love, and we overall just… Want to live. Everyone just wants to live. That’s why I understand fear. Kids are being born with guns strapped to their wrists, and that’s frightening. That’s a terrifying idea, right? The JSDF sure-as-fuck thought so.”
“What I don’t understand is hate. What I don’t understand is the idea that the people who’ve been blessed or cursed with those guns can’t be salvaged, or don’t deserve to be saved. We’re just human beings, or shit, we’re close enough aren’t we? The only difference between me and you is – is -” He stutters, “I can heat up a Hot Pocket without a microwave – that’s it, right? I can make my skin really hot. Crucify me.”
Shamefully, his head dips low while he scratches his neck.
“But when you reject with hate, you create an other, a force outside, and you start to see resentment, and division, and envy and you get people on each artificial, arbitrary side committing atrocities in the name of justice, and that’s what I don’t understand. I didn’t understand the terrorists in the JSDF, and I don’t understand the terrorists at Tokyo5. There are shitty humans with guns, and shitty humans with quirks. And the rest of us can come together and fight them both.”
“All anyone wants, quirked and non-quirked, is to be… It’s to be accepted and loved and admired and… It’s to be looked at by eyes without scorn for what we are...”
A long pause, a heavy moment where he almost seems to forget he’s on camera. Finally, he sighs, raises his head, and speaks directly into the lens for the first time.
“He does not speak for us.”
---
A few hours later, from a separate IP, another video starring an extreme close up of a cute young brunette, eyes shining green and framed on bottom by the fringe of a plain white shirt that doesn’t quite leave frame. She awkwardly pushes her bangs aside, stares red-faced and stubborn into the lens.
“He does not speak for us.”
She quickly cuts off, ends transmission.

As the video starts to play, round gray-blue eyes and furrowed thin red eyebrows pop into view. Indistinct murmuring in Russian could be heard, and then the eyes in view would light up in recognition and go wide. The camera pulls back, revealing a pale, round faced girl with a dainty nose and thin lips with a gray-blue tint.
Long red hair framed her face, and a white knitted scarf was wrapped across her shoulders while a matching hat sat on her head. With a small smile, one hand would come into view - showing a black coat sleeve along with it - and give a polite wave at the screen along with a greeting. "Zdrastvooyte!"
A small puff of cold air briefly fogs up the screen, clearing up after a second. The girl drops her hand back down out of view, the camera shifting about before steadying. "Ah, that is to say 'Hello!' for those of you who do not speak Russian." Her smile turned briefly sheepish and apologetic, before her expression took on a more serious cast. "My name is Rimma Savvaeva Yemelin. I am a recent transfer to Class 1-A of Yuuei, enrolled in their heroics program."
Rimma paused for a moment, collecting her thoughts, before continuing in a clear tone. "What happened with the recent hijacking of Tokyo5 was a horrible, despicable act and never should have happened. It was the actions of a psychotic few, targeting innocent, law abiding civilians. Crimes like this have been far too frequent lately, and as frustrating it is I hope that everyone can find some small comfort in the knowledge that the criminals who commit acts like this will not get away with it - police and other officials will bring them to justice."
She paused to take a breath before continuing, her tone turning optimistic and a hopeful look on her face. "In the future I hope to be one of those officials, helping prevent crimes from being carried out and bringing those who would break the law for their own gain, try to force their warped ideologies onto the innocent, or mindlessly lashing out against a system designed to protect and take care of everyone, to justice."
Then, she gave a small sigh and with it another puff of cold air that fogged the screen up again for another small moment. When it cleared up, her expression had turned serious again. "What has happened with Tokyo5, and happened time and again throughout history, is not a matter of those with Quirks against those without them. It is criminals, using whatever justifications they can cling to, breaking the law and committing horrible acts at the expense of others. These criminals, male or female, young or old, Quirk or Quirkless, are the people we should be focused on. Do not give in to fear of your neighbor down the street who might be different from you, or your coworker you never really liked that much anyways."
She gave a small laugh at the brief bit of good humor, before her expression turned stern and serious and her tone became insistent and almost chastising. "Do not let the words and actions of self-righteous madmen drive you to becoming criminals yourselves." Then her demeanor softened, taking on a more gentle tone once more. "Remember that you are and can continue to be better than that, and have friends and families who love you and would hate to see you go down a self-destructive road that will only bring suffering to yourself and others. To those of you who have family or a friend with a Quirk or without a Quirk, I beg you to remember that more than anything else and to not fall into an us vs them mentality."
Then, with a small and fond smile, Rimma concluded. "My papochka, my father, believes the same as me - in fact he is why I believe what I do - and he does not have a Quirk himself. If those with Quirks and those without Quirks could not get along, then this would not be the case, no? Yet, it is, and I hope everyone who hears this takes everything I have said to heart." The view tipped upwards to show a bare ceiling after that, followed by more indistinct Russian murmuring. After a few seconds, the screen cut to black as the video came to an end.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 392 w. A call to arms kenjutsu-f | reinforcement-f | radiant dawn-e The video would stutter for only a second before a girl would be seen looking down at something off screen. Her hair would be disheveled and a single cow lick strand would be dangling down over her eyes that shine like emeralds. They shine because they are wet with tears that cascade down her cheeks unabashed. For several seconds, she would just stare like a zombie off in the distance with the occasional sniffle coming from her.
Though, after several more seconds, she would clear her throat and stare directly at the camera. Her once blank stare is now a sharp glare. Her lips are tight and her brow is furrowed in fury. One would immediately notice that the dark room is being lit up. Not by any lamp or lighting, but by a radiant golden glow that is emanating from this girl as she begins to speak.
"I'm not one for long, drawn out speeches. So I will get straight to the point."
Her eyes narrow as her lips quiver in a mix of anger and sorrow, but she keeps her composure as she continues. "My name is Relena Tsuruya and I am a student at UA. I am proud to be part of class 1-A because I hope to one day make this world a better place. My father was a murderer..."
She looks down for a moment, taking in a deep breath before continuing. "He killed people because of hate. Misguided hate...that's what this is. A misguided attack led by those who are only fueled by hatred and malice. Well, I will not stand for this. The heroes of this city will not stand for this and the students of UA do not agree with this."
The girl would hold her hand up, palm open, and an orb of light would slowly float out of her hand. "I have a quirk. This is who I am and I am not ashamed to be a quirker. I will not kill. Ever. This is me stating one thing very clearly: He does not speak for me. He does not speak for us. We are the future and we will not be dragged through the mud by these cowards and murderers."
The girl would close her hand, then, and her glow would fade into the darkness as the video cuts off abruptly.

Post by Shimizu Haruto on Jan 2, 2019 17:41:01 GMT -4
((A collaborative effort between myself and Haven))
Haruto didn’t look at the UA chatroom all that often. He was simply too busy, between his work as president, vice president, classwork, part time job… Etc. However, today… After the events of earlier that day… Well, he wouldn’t be ashamed to admit that he had spent a while in shock. After all, that doctor they had murdered… He knew that person. He had been there, at the underground lab at the boarding school. She had been an assistant to the doctor, who… It hurt to remember. All he could think of was the other doctor, the one… Who he had failed to save. The two figures overlapped in his mind. When he finally recovered, his first instinct was to… Look, to see if he could find any information. Which was how he saw the video posted on said chatroom. He watched it, sat in thought for a minute… And then, the white-haired boy would take out his phone, and send a text to the one who was always on his mind.
Did you see the video Emi posted? I want to do a response, would you join me?
“Do you...do you think this is really alright. I’ve never done a response to something like this before?” the redhead said, a worried look on her face as she looked up to Haruto, her fingernails digging into the palms of her hands. What exactly was she supposed to say in response to such a violent event that happened only moments prior? Her head was swimming with thoughts and she had to comprise all of what she was feeling into a video response? Haruto was the one that suggested that they make a video together, that it might be more powerful than them each doing a video by themselves. Chise was still unsure, this was in response to the events that partook at Semper-Fi, and although what she went through was hurtful to think about, her experiences meant nothing compared to those whom dealt with worse, especially Haruto. One of the doctors that was supposedly in his section was violently murdered before their eyes, two knives being plunged simultaneously into her through without mercy. Were her actions right? Maybe not, but was killing the only solution to resolving this?
Chise was having second thoughts about speaking, after all, would her opinion even matter? Chise stared at Haruto, her legs slightly trembling as she tried to think of what to do. Should she chicken out or should she speak of the things that plagued her mind about both Semper-Fi and the event that occured at the Tokyo5 tv station? She just didn’t know.
Haruto would give Chise a gentle pat on the head. “I haven’t either, but… This, I feel like it’s something I need to do. That doctor, the one they murdered… I knew her. She was, one of the ones, who… Was there.” He would put on odd emphasis on the last word, but despite not saying it outright, it would be obvious what he meant. “And besides. You know how I’ve always felt about, this thing about quirkers and anti-quirkers. What those people did… It will only make things worse! The world needs to see that quirks are for more than just violence! I, I’m just glad that you agreed to do it with me. I… I’m not sure I could, do it, if it was on my own.”
A soft gasp left the shorter girl’s ruby red lips, blinking as she looked at the reassuring look on Haruto’s face. She listened as he expressed his own worried about this, saying he had never done anything like this either but that it was personal to him. Chise pressed her head close to Haruto’s chest as she wrapped her arms around his frame, giving him a reassuring hug, letting him know that she was there. “I know...I feel the same way. Why can’t we just live in a world filled with peace? I don’t understand what’s so hard about that,” Chise spoke, frowning as she closed her eyes. She stood there hugging Haruto in silence for a few minutes before turning her head up to look at him. “...it’ll be alright...we’re in this together after all,” she spoke softly with a smile on her face, hoping to alleviate some of Haruto’s and her own anxieties. She stood on her tippy toes and gently kissed his lips before pulling away. It was now or never.
Haruto set up his phone as a camera, and left it on a desk, before stepping back to rejoin Chise. Based on how he had set it up, he had a few seconds before filming would start. He wrapped his arm around the girl at his side, holding her tight- Although, she would feel him trembling even as he did so. Expressions flashed across the boy’s face- Sadness, fear, anger, hopelessness. How should he look when the film started to roll? But Chise was by his side, and as he held her close, he felt his worries sink into a place where they could not touch him. “No pressure, okay? If, if we don’t like how it comes out, we can just delete it and try again. As many times as it takes, alright?”
Chise turned to Haruto and nodded with her ever so present grin in her face. Feeling the reassuring grip of her lover made her feel that more comfortable. It wasn’t like they only had one chance at this. They could redo it as many times as they saw fit. No pressure. Chise turned to face the camera once more, a more confident look on her face rather than that of fear.
He finished speaking just in time. The camera rolled, and Haruto would focus on the lens. “Hello, my name is Shimizu Haruto, and I am the vice president of the support class at U.A.” Once Haruto introduced himself, Chise spoke up next, giving her own introduction, “Good evening, my name is Ishihara Chise. I am the president of the Support Studies class at U.A.”

“Both of us, we were at the Semper Fi incident. For my part, I was at… The Venus Boarding School, where there was a presentation by the military doctors on quirks. Including, the, The one who was murdered, Tsuki Nosagi.” Haruto’s voice cracked as he said the name. “I do not claim to understand why, they did what they did… Nor do I know if she was one of the ones behind it… However, I do know that not all of the doctors were murderers, and that she was poisoned along… With all of the rest of us.” One doctor in particular crossed Haruto’s mind as he spoke- The one, whose first reaction to the release of the toxin had been to warn him, to try and protect him from his own quirk. Prior to this, his last memory of Tsuki had been… Of her running through one of the doors, behind which was promised the antidote. It was not the action of one who had been prepared for the turn of events.
Chise listened patiently as Haruto spoke, giving his view of the situation and his thoughts about it. Hearing his voice falter when speaking of the doctor that was murdered, Chise gently squeezed Haruto’s side with her hand, reassuring him that he was alright and that he was doing good. Once he was done with his turn, Chise took a deep breath before speaking up, “I cannot say my experience was anywhere close to what Haruto had. I can only speak for what I encountered in my experience. I, along with four students, a U.A. teacher, and a civilian, were taken to a dimly lit underground bunker where we had to diffuse bombs to make it to the next room. From there, we were faced with a darkened damp room filled with loose electrical wires, a room above filled entirely with water, and a room with drones coming after us. The man in charge of our challenge, Takeshi Kazuhira, was, in my opinion, mentally ill. It was not his fault entirely of the events that happened and the actions he took, but the disease inside his body consuming his brain, tainting it and killing him from the inside out…” Chise had to stop to close her eyes and regain her thoughts. Thinking back to the man who she thought was one of the top military personnel only to turn rotten in the end. “Takeshi...he killed his own men and attempted to kill my group and I. He had drones under his command, hiding in a tank for safety as we risked our lives trying to just make it out alive. It...it wasn’t supposed to end up like this...he took the easy way out and ended his own life after ending countless lives of his commanding officers and comrades. He was not right in the head...and neither are the ones who took action at Tokyo5 tonight.” Chise stopped and let Haruto speak once more, giving her time to think of what else she wanted to say.
“The Semper Fi event was a tragedy. I… Even now, I can still remember that room… And while in the end, very few died… Their memory haunts me, even now. But, to claim that all quirkless are at fault for the actions of the few, would be like claiming that all quirkers are at fault for the actions of today’s hijackers. Tsuki Nosagi was a victim then, and a victim now, and did not deserve the fate which befell her. Please, I beg of you who are watching this video. Do not continue this vicious circle. Do not blame the many for the actions of the few. Let the culprits be punished by the law, by the Heroes- Lest we fall into the trap of slaying the innocent, as retribution for the actions of those who are not.”
Haruto ended the video on that plea. He hated it- This vicious circle. Quirkless kill quikers, so quirkers kill quirkless… The hate grows, and the cycle repeats. In his heart, he had always believed- As he still believed, that such actions… When all that the citizens saw of quirks was related to violence- Whether it was the villains who used theirs to commit crimes, or the heroes and vigilantes who used theirs to fight the villains… How could the quirkless see quirks as anything other than tools of violence? Which was why it was his dream, to end that cycle. To show the world that a quirker could become famous for their quirk without needing to use it to fight.
It was just that said dream was a long way off.
Chise stared at the phone camera for a few seconds after Haruto turned it off, releasing a breath she didn’t know she was holding. She sat back against the bed, looking down at her own trembling hands. They did it...they spoke their minds about the incident. It seemed the last couple of minutes flew by as if it were a dream. She silently hoped they didn’t have to refilm it, the peach haired girl didn’t think she’d be able to repeat what she had said in the exact fashion. She might end up flubbing her words or doing something silly on camera once it was recording. Chise laid back against the bed, letting her head hit the pillow at the top of the mattress. Perhaps, if that was all they had to do, she could take a nap to calm herself down a bit.
Haruto picked up the phone, and brought up the recorded video to watch. He sat in silence through it, only speaking up at the very end. “I… I think that, that’s the best we’ll get. E-Even if I were to redo it, I… I’m not sure I… Could.” It had been very emotional, to talk about Semper Fi, in this way. Haruto, he… Just felt tired, but happy that Chise had been with him for it. “I, let’s post it, like this.”
Chise looked up at Haruto as he spoke, having sat down and watched the playback of their video, saying he thought it was the best chance they’d have at making it sound and look good. They both were extremely nervous after all, who knows if they would be as calm the second time around without it sounding like a preplanned script. Chise sat up and wrapped her arms around Haruto once more, leaning her head against his arm. “I think we both did the best we could. I say you should upload it as is. Then, the two of us need something to help us calm down...like perhaps some sweets...or a nap,” she said with a soft chuckle, hoping to clear some of the tension in the air after what had transpired only moments ago.
Haruto felt like a weight was lifted from his shoulders as he pressed the button to upload. Not even waiting to see the reaction to it, he would sit next to Chise on her bed, and wrap his arms around her, even as she wrapped hers around him. “Mm.” He murmured in assent to her suggestion, but given that he showed no sign of getting up or letting Chise get up, most likely he had chosen the latter.
And quietly cuddling together, the two fell asleep, knowing they got through this seemingly tense video together and all they had to worry about now was when they would stop cuddling...if that was even something to worry about in the first place.
