It all began at the end of the school week, a Friday to be exact. In the wake of the military demonstration camp, the A class of the hero course had been forced to deal with the absence of their homeroom teacher. Who knew what might have possibly happened to her? News about her whereabouts seemed mostly based on rumors. Some said she drowned during the incident at the end of the camp, others said she went on a honeymoon to France with a gentleman she met during that time, but whatever the case... It was clear that she was absent. Nonetheless, the start of the school day would begin just like any other day, students would arrive at the building, making their way to the classroom, but it was here that the students of 1-A would slowly become aware of the fact there was something slightly different compared to usual. Although the lecture had yet to officially begin, there was already an unexpected guest inside their classroom. A large chicken with some sort of contraption strapped to her back was standing on the teacher's desk. Surely this wasn't going to be their teacher?
If anyone would dare to approach the chicken, they could possibly recognize that the contraption was some sort of projector with a built-in camera, but attempting to touch the device would likely have consequences in the form of a peck at the approaching limb. Clearly touching it was a bad idea.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the specialized training ground, a hooded figure was overlooking the landscape, a slight nod of approval being made by him. "Perfect, I bet even Geist wouldn't come up with something like this." he clearly was looking forward to whatever he had prepared, but who in the world was this stranger? That would all be revealed in due time...
For now, all they could do was wait for the school day to begin.
----- Welcome, 1-A to a special lesson prepared for you all. While the intro is kept short for the time being, you can all enter the classroom, feel free to react to the fact there is a large chicken in the classroom or just take a seat or do your usual thing. I will give everyone till the 30th of November to enter, upon which I will post with further details for this class.

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
Brr Brr Brr.
He turned to the side, slowly. He was still asleep but, at the same time, he was awake. That empty space one reaches in the morning where time is as if unheard of. The buzzing of the clock served as a reminder that time never stops.
Brr Brr Brr.
Yes, time is indeed eternal. Being warm and covered by the heavy winter sheets made the task of getting up and out of bed a herculean one, a journey of seconds that surely belonged to the books of fairy tales for few were the humans able to slay the desire of a deep and comfortable sleep.
Brr Brr Brr.
He turned his body around once again. Like a baby kangaroo sticking his head out from its mother’s pouch, Ryuusei head lazily rose from inside the sheets. Then it was time for the arm.
Brr Brr B-.
With a precise touch - one that come from infinite repetition - Ryuu turned the alarm clock off with his hand. Then, as if it was the most daunting thing he had ever done, he got out of his bed. Since it was winter time he slept with his pajamas on. They were made out of silk, white in colour with blue stripes.
The rest of the morning went quite fast and like it almost always went. A burning hot shower that took way longer than it needed, a breakfast made with love from his mother and a kiss in the forehead from his father. Getting out of his house - or mansion, if one felt like making the claim - Ryuusei Igarashi was now on his way for one more day of classes at Yuuei Highschool.
His earphones on and dressed in the school uniform - but with the tie slightly loose, obviously – the youngest member of the Igarashi family made his way by foot to his destination, a twenty minute walk through the streets and alleys of Musutafu.
The Semper Fi Military Camp gave Ryuusei plenty to think about. He faced his own shadow. He was now aware of what he was capable and… it was scary, a type of scary that he had never felt before. He couldn’t come back to that, never again - he had to learn how to live with it. Right now that meant trying his hardest to become a hero, even if not the conventional type that goes up on popularity polls and such. But someone who does good deeds, who is kind and cares in his own unique way… A personal path to redemption, if that made any sense.
He arrived at U.A. and then at his classroom. Early, as always. Despite being exceptionally good at academics and being early to almost every single class Ryuusei was almost always not paying that much attention in the class itself. It was boring, he thought. This class, however, seemed to be… different.
A chicken… he mumbled, looking at the animal atop of the teacher’s desk after removing his earphones.
Standing still at the classroom entrance, Ryuusei and the chicken stared at each other in an intense away. A cowboy stare-down; a fated battle between man and animal; predator and prey, both ready to unleash their fangs to kill the other. Neither of them moved, both afraid of jumping their guns way to early. Dead silence in the air. A palpable tension floating around inside the room.
I’m watching you, he pointed at the chicken with the middle and index fingers of his left hand.
Carefully, Ryuu moved close to the wall in the direction of his seat. He didn’t want to risk any contact with that hellish demon. Now sitting - without getting his eyes away from the animal – Ryuusei yawned, longing to be in bed again. On his mind, one fear.
I swear that if we have another homeroom teacher again I’m going to file a complaint to the Principal.
Afterall, that class was supposed to be with Aeris-sensei… And the woman wasn’t the type to bring farm animals near her.

1-A | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ With a warm cup of coffee in her hands, the 1-A student leaned against her kitchen cupboard as she looked at her cat, being way more active than she herself felt. She did not feel like going to school, many things had covered her mind about the semper fi incident, about Halloween and most of all: about the new blackout in her mind. This time not being brought home by the police was a good thing. However, perhaps she should talk to someone but she did not know who and also felt strange to give such information to a random someone. She turned her eyes from Zuzu to her phone which lay on the kitchen counter and thought about texting her mother or maybe Maxi would understand? They did have a good conversation while being at the military camp.
Her mother would come over here, all in panic and make her only more confused. As much as she thought about the words "Don't worry," that Emi got from a pro-hero, she herself had decided she wanted to try becoming a hero, but she did not want to understand why people hated each other so much based on a quirk. If her other self-was there right now, she would hit her in the face and not agree, quirkless were evil, but Rowan herself totally did not think that.
She took the last sip of her coffee, placed the mug in the sink and moved Zuzu to his place before grabbing her schoolbag, jacket and keys and headed out. She still thought, again at times like these that she should ask Kanna if she wanted to walk to school together, but every time, she forgot and thus she went on alone. Lost in her thought, she wanted to discuss semper fi with Aeris and yet she did not because well her opinion about Aeris was neutral, she heard strange things, maybe she should see the school nurse or something.
When she stepped into the classroom, she looked up from her thoughts and stared at the chicken, okay? She noticed Ryuusei already and gave him a weak smile before tilting her head to the left and just walking behind the chicken, who turned to look at her, and quickly hurrying to the second seat at the window. Even if the chicken made her curious, she simply looked outside the window to daydream some more. |

Does the A in 1A stand for 'Apocalypse'?
|
words: 619. tag: @username. notes: Let's see how this one goes
|
It was pitch-black. There was no light to be seen. Only darkness in every direction. It was quiet, far too quiet. The eerie silence was unwelcoming. A great sense of dread hung over the blue-haired boy, as he felt that something was seriously wrong. It felt like a foreshadowing of a disaster that would soon take the boy by storm. Suddenly from out of nowhere, a loud booking voice shattered the silence, chilling the boy down to his very bone. His skin felt like a thousand chilly knives were all piercing through it in rapid succession. He could not take this cold. It was far chillier than the coldest freezer, harsher than any winter, far more frigid than the cold produced by Maxi. The boy shivered both in fear and from the excessive cold as he heard the voice pound in his ears, drilling its way into the boy's brain.
"STOP BEING A NOSY BRAT, YOU WORTHLESS SACK OF SHIT!"
A loud slap sound echoed through the darkness. The sounds of crying could also be heard. Not just from the terrified boy, but from a sobbing woman. Her face could not be seen, but the pain in her sobs could be heard echoing inside his head. The boy could not take this. It was far too painful for him to bear. He just wanted it to go away. As tears continued to cascade down the boy's face, his voice echoed out into the darkness. "Please stop. Please stop! PLEASE STOP!"
...
Sean suddenly woke up, breathing heavily, sweat glistening all over the boy. Rubbing his eyes and calming down a bit, he sighed. "Damn it, not this again." With how much training he was doing, and with how much the boy was focusing on his schoolwork, Sean found himself staying up later and later. He was beginning to have nightmares. They were all the same, having to do with that fateful day. The day that man showed his true colors, the day Sean's quirk activated, and the day Sean and his mother cut that man out of their lives forever. Sean was tired of the nightmares. He just wanted to forget about them and move on.
After taking a nice hot shower, Sean put on his UA uniform. The boy made himself a nice quick breakfast. He was pleased to see that his cooking was slowly getting better. After getting his schoolbag and some other necessities (including several 1 Liter water bottles), Sean headed out the door and made his way to class. Despite the nightmare, Sean had his usual wide and cheery smile on him. It was time to stop focusing on the gloom and doom and instead focus on the positives. It was a Friday, so after classes were done, he could spend the weekend doing whatever he wanted. Play games, read the latest manga, hang out with his awesome friends. The possibilities were endless!
Upon arriving to class, Sean immediately noticed something unusual. No, it was not the absence of the 1-A teacher, although Sean did wonder what happened to Aeris. It was the giant chicken. Sean wondered what the chicken was doing here, and how it even got inside the classroom to begin with. But then Sean just shrugged and decided not to worry about it too much. Smiling at the chicken, Sean turned around and headed for his seat.
Before making his way to his seat, Sean noticed Ryuusei and Rowan. The boy greeted his classmates with his usual smile and wave of his hand. "Yo, good morning, friends!" Afterwards, Sean took his seat. He looked forward to seeing just what he would learn today, as well as what that giant chicken was all about.

God she hated alarm clocks. When her phone went off, a simple slap of her palm against the screen was enough of an indicator for it to shut the fuck up. Little could she remember that she had set two of the motherfuckers, so when the second one went off only a very annoyed groan could be heard from under the covers within which she had buried her face in. As the alarm continued to go off, all the lioness could do was wrap her arms around the little Raven to her side who had begun to rustle, "Just five more minutes..." she croaked out, groggily, unwilling to let go of the small bundle of warmth that had made her perch in her bed.
After about ten or so minutes of Jasmine not letting Rin out of her bed, having locked the smaller girl inside an obnoxiously strong bear hold (especially considering how early it was), Jasmine was finally forced to get the heck up out of bed. Feeling like someone had smashed a frying pan across her face, Jasmine wobbled over to the bathroom, messy blonde locks standing up in every direction as she rubbed her sleepy eyes. Rin went over to the kitchen to fix up some breakfast - as she usually did - while the lioness herself went to turn herself into a proper person lest she accidentally scared someone.
Ten minutes later all of her morning rituals were complete and she came out of the bathroom dressed in her uniform, yawning and stretching as she grabbed a cup of coffee courtesy of her dark haired little angel. A peck on the Raven's cheek as a thank you, Jasmine spent some time enjoying the bitter concoction as she scarfed down the pancakes Rin somehow managed to prepare within, like, the blink of an eye. How that girl operated was a mystery to the blonde ace of 1A, but she sure as hell wasn't about to question it. Some things were better left for the imagination.
A conversation (which, admittedly, mostly consisted of Jasmine bitching about how much mornings sucked) later, the two girls were off to class. Homeroom was first, so they figured the day was going to start on a chill, if not on a little weird, note. The whole Semper Fi shtick had just ended and the two of them were pretty sure Aeris had some kind of recap prepared. Maybe try to explain, analyze, and better understand what had happened in order to learn something from the entire shit show. Jasmine couldn't really tell how Aeris worked - her mind was a question she still couldn't understand even after the many private personal training regimes they've had together.
What she got, though, was something she entirely didn't expect.
It was very literally the last thing she expected to see.
Frozen in the doorway, Jasmine stared the... thing right in its eyes. The target in her peripheral vision stirred the second she saw the lioness. Its beady eyes looked like they narrowed at her, a perceived glare directed at the blonde's general vicinity. No... it couldn't be... she thought. She sincerely hoped she was wrong about this, but... god fucking damn it there was no mistaking that pattern on this little bitch's feathers. It was Captain, and Jasmine fucking hated her.
It wasn't until Rin squeezed her hand, a little curious, that Jasmine managed to get her mind out of the gutter. Sighing, the blonde went to her seat and plopped down, folding her arms. He was undoubtedly going to make an appearance. What the fuck was he even doing here? Where was Aeris? So many questions, so few answers. But, shit, she figured she wouldn't like a single one of these answers.

Fumbling through the maze of garments, cloth and shoes that composed her closet Kimi muttered to herself. Picking up her uniform she turned towards a nearby towering mirror. Gazing at her own reflection she placed the outfit against her body and thought in silence. Always being one to accessorize she found beyond ribbons, bracelets and other trinkets there wasn't much to be done within the schools dress code. Eventually sighing in defeat Kimi tossed the outfit lazily over a nearby chair. Pulling a long green ribbon from one of the closest shelves she placed it upon her laid out clothing.
"Suppose this is the best I can do for the time being." Sleepily Kimi stretched her arms above her head before slipping into the nearby bathroom.
Ridding the sleep from her body with a boiling shower Kimi slipped into her uniform and tied her hair back into a neat ponytail with the ribbon with haste. Being the type to regularly sleep in time was already against her. With a glance at a nearby clock Kimi decided against breakfast; a choice which her stomach wholeheartedly resented. Rather than waste what little time there was she whipped up a cup of instant coffee. The bitter black brew which she had bought for emergencies fell far below her standards when it came the beverage but it was better than nothing. Snagging an energy bar from kitchen Kimi slipped her shoes on and raced out of the dorms.
In a huff Kimi arrived at the class room with some time to spar. Clasping the wall with one hand she took a few moments to gather her composer after the mad dash she made across campus. Having arrived before class even started she felt foolish for running halfway across the campus. Not only was she now out of breath but she missed out on a true meal. The next few hours were going to be a long one as she suffered from the brutal banshee wails of her stomach.
After a few passing minutes Kimi's pulse leveled out as her breathing returned to it's normal state. Straightening out the wrinkles in her uniform and running her fingers through her hair Kimi walked into the class. Generally, Kimi made no notion of greeting those in her class and would readily head for her desk. For the most part she had little concern about those around herself. For her, the purpose of going to class was to learn not to socialize. Today however as Kimi walked into the class an oddity caused her to stop in her tracks.
Fluffy, robust and round a rather large chicken with a metallic device strapped to its back stood upon the teachers desk. A mixture of curiosity and confusion showed upon Kimi's face as her gaze shifted from those who had already arrived and then back to the chicken. From the lack of any reaction from her fellow classmates it seemed that this sort of thing wasn't out of the ordinary. Having only just joined class 1-A recently Kimi was rather out of the loop when it came to normality within the class.
Staring at the chicken for a few moments longer Kimi eventually decided it wasn't worth her time trying to decipher what the chickens purpose was. Eventually that mystery would reveal itself. Still, Kimi wasn't about to let that thing out of her site. Something about the creatures beady black eyes watching her intently left her feeling uneasy. Slowly making her way around the back of the desk Kimi eased her way past the creature till she found herself at her desk. Now having some distance between herself and the chicken the tension that had built in her shoulders lessened some. Plopping down into her desk Kimi placed her book bag off to one side and began to nurse the steaming coffee from her travelers mug.
Taking a few deep drafts from the mug Kimi couldn't take her eyes of the mass of feathers that resided at the from of the class. Every fiber of common sense in her body told her that it wasn't of her concern but she couldn't let the curiosity slip from her grasp. Finally giving into burning questions within Kimi leaned to one side where another student sat. Up to this point she hadn't bother to learn the brown haired males name let alone actually speak to him... then again she never had a reason till this moment.
"What's with the chicken?" Kimi spoke in a hushed tone as if anything louder would attract the beasts attention.
"Is this something that normally happens?" She questioned her eyes locked onto the chicken as it plucked at one of its feathers.

❝You're showing me colours of the sky, But all I see is Grey❞ 512 w. Class 1-A lesson Kenjutsu-F | Reinforcement-F | Radiant Dawn-E Relena had started the day at the crack of dawn, as she did every day, and quietly snuck out of her dormitory without waking Kimiko. She figured her room mate needed all the sleep she could get, buried in her lavish pillows, so she let her be. Wearing her track suit, Relena spent the morning brandishing her bokken and running through basic sets of Kenjutsu to clear her mind.
After a few hours, she rushed back to her shared living space to get changed when she saw some clothes laid out on Kimiko's bed and the bathroom occupied. With a slight frown, Relena stalked into her room and got changed. It was regretful that she would have to skip taking a shower, but she could only hope that a liberal application of deodorant and cocoa butter lotion would mask the sweat from her morning exercise. Taking a step back to observe herself in the mirror, Relena wiped her uniform down to get out the wrinkles as best she could.
She had hoped to bump into Kimiko on the way out, but it had seemed that the tempestuous girl had already left. Relena simply shook her head as she toasted a pair of bread in the toaster while she packed her bag for class. It popped and she immediately rushed over to apply a liberal helping of butter and jam on them both before sealing them in a small plastic container.
She rushed out of the dormitory building with due haste, not because she was late but because that was her usual stride. It infuriated her to no end to see people walking slowly to their destination and thus she managed to arrive to class 1-A before the tardy bell. She'd have to get used to the class schedule if she were to show up at a more acceptable time, however.
Of course the classroom was already occupied by some of the other students, whom she did not recognize as of yet. Though she was glad to see that they all seemed to get along with one another. Just as she was about to step forward and greet them, however, Relena immediately froze in her tracks.
"Our class mascot is a chicken." She said matter-of-factly. "Intriguing."
She gave the barnyard animal a wide berth, careful to keep constant vigil over it as she made her way to her seat. At some point she would want to make introductions with her fellow classmates, but for now she was content to take a seat and wait for class to start. Relena immediately spotted Kimiko and couldn't help but crack a small smile as she sat down next to the girl. Relena popped open her container to carefully lift out her slice of toast before setting down the Tupperware on Kimiko's desk.
"I figured you would be hungry." She took a small bite of the toast, still staring at the chicken. What was that...thing on it's back? Relena hadn't seen an apparatus like that before, so what was going on here? Some unorthodox lesson no doubt.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Jasmine was never going to learn the secret as to how Rin was always prepared quicker than her, despite Jasmine needing to hog absolutely everything when they got up late, in an attempt to catch back up, before they'd both be in trouble for arriving to class sheepishly late. The simple truth was, that Rin woke up ahead of time on her own accord. Like a solid hour before Jasmine's alarms even thought of interrupting the blonde lioness' sleep. At this time of morning, Jasmine was completely gone. On occasion, Rin could've sworn the blonde drooled on herself in her sleep, with how comfortable she looked. Either case, this little hour is where Rin managed to get most of the morning rituals sorted. Preparing the brewing of the coffee, preparing the toaster, slicing fruits and stuff and keeping them fresh in the fridge. It meant that once Jasmine woke up, realized that they were going to be late because nothing was prepared, everything was magically prepared. All that Rin had to do was press a couple of buttons, brush her hair and apply minor makeup hotfixes. It had practically become tradition at this point. Ever since Rin had begun to occupy half of Jasmine's bed, their mornings had turned into something else entirely. Wh could blame the raven, though..? Because of Jasmine's quirk and her higher body temperature, the bed was always irresistably warm, soft, comfortable. The perfect place to build a nest... A nest that was embraced in such a tight hug, that any kind of rustling or resistance was futile... Thus Rin simply rested her head against Jasmine's collarbone, closing her eyes and accepting another ten minutes of well deserved rest...
Today's menu was simple sliced fruit within pancakes, together with a, in Rin's opinion, all too strong coffee. Rin swore that the amount of caffeine Jasmine was capable of consuming in the morning was beyond the lethal dosage for many other mortals. Regardless, it had been prepared to the blonde's specifications, as always. Rin herself was gnawing on her pancakes, while having half a cup of simple water, plus half a cup of herbal tea. Rin had also, because of the recent event costing her the supply of blood she normally had in her body to be below acceptable levels for her quirk, used a fair bit of sugar. Alongside the sugar, she was eating some general iron-rich pills. If overdone, these little bastards could easily upset her stomach. If done correctly however, it would return Rin's energy to normal levels at quite an accelerated pace. To create blood cells, Rin needed protein, iron and energy. Things that she, in lieu of the Semper Fi event, was devouring in rich amounts. To someone like Jasmine, seeing such a tiny girl capable of devouring meals of certain size, must've been even more magical than figuring out how in the world Rin was always so well prepared.
The two girls made their way towards the classroom in their typical fashion. Rin was reading through the schedule of the day, making sure that everything was as it needed to be, while Jasmine functioned as the guide, steering Rin away from walking into things, or people. However, when they made it to the classroom door, Rin did step into someone. The back of Jasmine, who had frozen in the door. Blinking a couple of times, Rin gave Jasmine's hand a soft squeeze, attempting to pull the blonde back to planet earth. It seemed to have an effect, as the two girls split up, Jasmine heading to her seat while Rin went to her own... This morning was already turning out a little curious, as Rin began finding forth all the things that had initially been required for their morning class...
...Wait, Rin was fairly sure she was forgetting something important?

Post by Saiko Tachibana on Dec 4, 2018 21:01:05 GMT -4
A loud sound cracked Saiko away, almost as if getting hit by a plank of wood. With a groan, she haphazardly fumbled for her phone, which only made her drop it on the floor. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she threw off the bed sheets and grumpily snagged the phone to shut the blaring noise off. With that settled, Saiko ruffled her shaggy bed-head with a large yawn. It was a school day, wasn't it?
The previous night she had spent trying to gain rank in a fighting game. What started with one win, turned into a streak, and then...well, the rest is history. Saiko squinted at the time through the darkness, to which she remembered only gaining about 3 hours sleep.
"Lovely." She muttered plainly and gave a wide stretch. This wasn't going to pan out to be a great day, was it?
She ran through the usual gambit at a snails pace, going through a quick and warm shower and then grabbing a mixed nut granola bar out of laziness to make herself anything. Saiko grabbed her uniform and threw it on, not much care in how she was presented or how she really looked at the moment. It was just one of those days she wanted to get over with. She gave another heavy yawn as she pat down her hair some and gave a shrug. Wouldn't be the first time she looked a mess, wouldn't be the last either.
With a hand wrapped around a thermos, Saiko brought some coffee along with the granola bar to at least tide her over with something. She usually wasn't the biggest coffee drinker, but anything at the point to stave of the rising winter weather. She had bundled herself over with a large, viridian colored coat, a shuffled her way towards her fate.
Upon reaching the class room, Saiko checked her time again. Cutting it close, but at least close wasn't late. With a heavy breath, Saiko pushed open the door to see...A large chicken. The sight probably should have thrown her off some, or maybe surprised her at the very least. The teacher was nowhere to be seen, and that seemed the bigger mystery than the random animal that seemed to have taken up residence in the classroom.
Saiko's tired, narrowed eyes scanned the classroom to see if maybe somebody had been responsible, but judging from the lack of reaction, she shrugged it off. Well, none of her business at the very least. It would likely become her business, but that would have to be seen. Perhaps the teacher morphed into a chicken.
The thought made her chuckle slightly in a partly delirious and sleep deprived state before meandering her way fully into the class room.
Saiko took a closer look at the chicken, noticing the not very well hidden device on it.
"Interesting." She said in a deadpan tone, not much else to add to the thought, before patting the chicken lightly on the head. "Welcome to 1-A, buddy." With a tired smile to the animal, she made her way down the middle aisle of the class, taking her seat behind Relena without much thought about the matter.
Taking a sip of the coffee, Saiko placed her head on the desk and awaited judgement. Hopefully the Colonel of Poultry would go easy on them.

Taylor was nervous about his first day of class. ACTUAL CLASS. Like homeroom class. Who knew who or what he could see and the thought of all of the strong looking customers he’d glimpse at when he walked into the door filled his mind. He wondered what quirks they’d have, how much muscle they packed and just how badly they could punch him. It was going to be a little piece of heaven. As he wandered down the hall he closed his eyes and continued to daydream about his class, so much so that he nearly passed up the room. Stopping outside of it he readied himself for what was inside. Behind this door were the people that were going to make him push his limits and maybe even make him wish he stayed home. Now, was his time to meet his classmates. Closing his eyes he took a deep breath and readied himself to enter, “You can do this Taylor, there’s just gonna be a bunch of strong looking people in here and all of them want a piece of you. No big deal.” he nodded to himself, “No big deal!” he nodded again, this time agreeing with his own sentiments with much more vigor. He slapped his face with both hands. With his hand on the handle, he slid open the door and opened his eyes, “No big dea-” the first thing he saw was not a room of strong looking individuals, but poultry. Fancy looking poultry. For a moment he’d stare at the bird absentmindedly, a beat of silence passing over him. There was a sudden urge coursing through him, this animal, this bird, this. “CHICKEN!” he had found himself filled with energy at the sight of livestock, it had been a while since he had seen an actual chicken. Charging forward with extended hands he didn’t have any intention in touching the camera, but rather getting ahold of the bird. If successful he’d hug the fine feathered creature but not a moment in his mind pasted that he thought he was possibly trying to hug his teacher.

And so the students started to gather one by one. The first to make his entree was Ryuusei Igarashi and instantly the teenage boy's eyes locked with those of the chicken. An eerie tension lingered in the air, like two fated rivals preparing for that one moment, that one second of vulnerability for them to exploit and begin their duel of fate. As if on cue a tune started to resound through the classroom. Chicken stared toward hero-in-training as the boy gave his warning, and surprisingly enough the chicken reacted, its eyes seemingly sharpening for a moment as it made a light scratching gesture with its claw, as if to tell the boy that the challenge was on! And then the music ended... Although shortly after his arrival Rowan Sakamoto made her entrance, and although she might had been curious about the chicken, it seemed the young lady was more interested in daydreams than chickens... The youth of today! Nonetheless, for a moment the chicken followed Rowan's gaze and... stared outside the window? Who knew what might had been going on within the mind of our feathered friend? Still, Sean Mizushima's arrival was like sunshine after a rainstorm, his cheerful greeting making the chicken flap its wings once, a salutation or mere coincidence? Who knew... Although the next one to arrive was the first one to get a verbal response from the chicken. Jasmine Noir, who seemingly was quite aware that the feathered intruder was tied to a certain person, and it appeared that the chicken knew her quite well also, for it turned toward the blonde lioness and went... "Cuck..." A single noise, yet those eyes cast upon the lass spoke book chapters! This chicken was knowing more than it let on! Meanwhile Kimiko's arrival was accompanied with the chicken plucking lightly at its own feathers, almost as if it was grooming itself? "..." The way it held its head up proud, chest puffed out, what in the world was going on here? Of course, Relena's arrival and assumption the chicken was the class' mascot, made the creature puff its chest even harder, and for a moment one could almost swear it was sparkling? Of course, poor Rin Kurama seemingly had indeed forgotten something important as the lass went to her seat and prepared for the start of the day. Although Saiko arrived in time, and seemed the first to actually attempt to touch the chicken, the creature tilted its head slightly after being pet, a sign of confusion? Nonetheless, it seemingly was at least not hostile. Of course, the final student to arrive was young Taylor, who energetically charged at the chicken in an attempt to pull it in a hug, but likely to the class's surprise the creature rapidly, way too rapidly for an ordinary chicken leaped into the air, trying to land on top of Taylor's head. "CUCKADUCKADOO!" the creature exclaimed as it hopped off the student and left in its wake... an egg? Although, as if on cue the bell started to ring and not a mere few moments the chicken landed back on the teacher desk. "Good morning Japan!" a masculine voice exclaimed energetically out of nowhere, soon resuming "Wait the video feed isn't on, lower your head Captain." The Captain slowly bend forwards, lowering her head as the projector on its back started to rise and shine straight toward the back of the class, revealing a metal-coated figure some might had compared to a robot from a science-fiction movie, or maybe a cyborg? "Perfect~ Ooy you there, kid at my desk, the one with an egg on his head, Martinez was it? Rule One: If you're a guy, don't touch my chicken until you earn her respect." The man answered, his voice sounding a mixture of a challenge, a threat and amusement. "So, you're all likely full of questions, and I promise we'll get them answered soon, but first things first. Introductions! Kurama-kun, you can skip the rise and greet part, I bet you're all more eager to rise out of your chairs and get to work on doing hero stuff rather than sitting there in a stuffed classroom, right? I would also! Ah wait--- that's why I'm here..." The man hummed, clearly going at his own pace. "So I'm Jaeger, you're new homeroom teacher, long story but god knows what happened to the previous teacher, so let's skip the gloom and doom and go straight to the fun part. Reason I'm here at the Training Grounds, and you're all at the class is because I been preparing an exercise for ya'll. Heard some of ya complain about not doing anything exciting and how Geist is getting all that popularity with his new lectures so... Guess I'll give it a spin also! For those wondering, I teach survival lessons. Which is where we'll head into right away!"He clapped his hands with a smirk as he continued. "Before you head over here I want you to fulfill the following task: Within the campus grounds, bring one thing which you believe will increase your survival chances in the wake of a disaster. You get about twenty minutes, by then I'm expecting you to be here upon which I will explain more about the lecture at hand."He paused for a moment, a hand raised toward his eyes, his face suddenly much closer to the projector. "Psst, Kurama-kun, Firecracker, with that I don't mean each other, although I GUESS that the Firecracker can do an amazing job in certain fields of survival." The man mused softly, almost as if he was starting to sidetrail. "Don't bother about changing into your gym clothes or hero suit, disasters sure as hell don't wait for you to get changed so... chop chop, time is ticking."And with that, the projector ceased, and the chicken hopped off the desk, making its way toward the doorway and was getting ready to leave. It seemed that their enigmatic teacher had quite a crazy adventure in store for them! --- Okay, so for the time being here is what is expected of you: You are given the chance to bring along 1 item with you to this lecture, anything you can find on the campus, after that meet at the Training Grounds for future instructions and to meet your teacher in front of the walled-off terrain. Or don't do it and suffer the consequences~

Luka had spent sufficient time getting himself settled in, setting up his dorm room, and sharing his pearls of wisdom on the student chat system. But somewhere along the way he had managed to get lost... or slept in, he wasn't quite sure, all he knew was that he was late for his first ever class in U.A., and that wasn't something that he wanted to think about. A quick glance at his watch had him realise just how late he actually was, which was followed by a small blue blur as he took off down the halls in an attempt not to be even later. Luckily for him, he had spent a bit of time trying to memories the basic school layout so he didn’t get lost along the way, although he did nearly fall flat on his face a few times.
Sliding into the classroom just as a loud "CUCKADUCKADOO!" resounded through the air, Luka nearly turned around to go back to his dorm. There was a chicken in here, and it had laid an egg on a boy. He had been a little weirded out by the behaviours of the other students last night in the chat, but this was even weirder than that. And then a voice came from the chicken. Was the chicken their teacher? How was that possible? It seemed like the lamest of quirks ever if you just turned into a chicken. So lost was the young boy that he almost didn’t notice the sudden projection of what was their real teacher. He did however slink a little out of sight to avoid getting scolded for almost being late to class on his first day.
While their teacher lectured on the purpose of the day’s lesson, Luka continued to stare at the chicken, not quite sure what to make of it. He heard what the man was saying, but his eyes constantly shifted back to the very proud looking bird and the projector on its’ back. It was very obvious that U.A. was not your average school, but Luka wasn’t too sure he could even begin to appreciate the level of oddity that existed at this school. Once the projection ended he continued to blink slightly at the chicken as it proceeded to leave the classroom, not quite sure how he was meant to react to the whole situation.
After a moment, he turned to his new classmates with a shrug, “Erm, my name’s Luka and I’m new. I’d love to get to know you all, but I think that might have to wait. See ya all down at the training grounds~” With that he took off back out the door that he had only recently raced to get to. Disaster training… well, he didn’t know what kind of disaster it was going to be, but he knew one thing that would be useful no matter what sort of problem they faced. Trying to remember the proper layout of the school wasn’t too easy, but he didn’t get lost (much) on his way to the Nurse’s office. A hasty (yet exceedingly polite) explanation about how they had a disaster response class and he would like to borrow one of the school’s first aid kit please, and Luka had his item for the lesson.
Luka seemed to just be running everywhere right now as he tore through the school as fast as he safely could (not wanting to get pulled up by a teacher for running in the halls). He’d get to the training grounds as quickly as he could, stopping to catch his breath and look around to see if there were any hints as to what they were going to have to do. He really hoped that he hadn’t made a bad choice in item, but it made the most sense to him as a ‘first choice’ considering he didn’t have any weapon or other nifty heroic gadgets to help him.

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
It didn't take much longer for the rest of the students of Class 1-A to arrive at the classroom. It was obvious that, n comparison to the beginning of the year, a lot had changed. Hell, out of all the Yuuei classes this was probably the one who suffered the most changes: not only in terms of students, but also teachers. Ryuusei understood that, for a completely new school that was trying to adapt to a constantly changing society, it was an understandable situation, but he was hoping that things would become more stable now. This chicken was very interesting though. Ryuusei liked the chicken. Was that the teacher? It seemed to react to Ryuu and, for some seconds, played an incredible music to set up the mood. The chicken had good taste. Yeah, after that intense staredown the chicken was approved. It seemed, howvever, that the teacher wasn't the awesome chicken. Probably a pet. The teacher presented himself through a projector carried by the chicken. He presented himself as Jaeger. By the tone of voice Ryuu could already tell that he would like him much more than Aeris. This new homeroom teacher was quick to tell the objective of this... practical class. Why just not send us directly to Training Grounds...? Ryuusei thought to himself while he dragged his body out of the classroom in order to fullfill Jaeger's instructions. However, Ryuusei wouldn't go looking for stuff. From the classroom he went straight to the Training Grounds, walking side by side with the chicken through the school's campus. Hands in his pockets, he followed the rythm of the animal's little hops and steps. So... - he looked down at the animal while they walked - ... Are you liking the school grounds? If the chicken seemed to be understanding him and giving some kind of responses like before, Ryuusei would continue the small talk with Jaeger's pet, asking it questions like "Does this Jaeger guy treat you well?", "What's your favorite meal?" and "Do you think you'll ever grow teeth?". When they both arrived at the Training Grounds and at the teacher's position, it was obvious that Ryuusei was the first student to be there. Afterall, he would probably be the only one that chose to not looking for something at Yuuei. If asked why he arrived so early or what had he brought, the answer would be simple. I already have my knife. And my cellphone, which I assume doesn't count as an object since it's a day-to-day device. I can manage myself in a disaster scenario with this... I think. I mean, if I don't have time to change clothes I suppose I also wouldn't have time to look out for stuff, right?Ryuusei's reply was true and - despite the cold tone - it was clear that it came out of sincerity and not of rudeness or direspect. However, there was a small fact that he was hiding... There was no way that he would go around running against the clock looking for something helpful, especially after going to the classroom for no reason at all. Ryuusei was rather intelligent and would've most likely been able to think of something good for the exercise... but he was also extremely lazy when he wasn't fully commited into an activity: proof of this was him bailing out of the first PE class of the year. If Jaeger was a good reader of people or if he had read reports of the students, he would probably know this about the boy. Nobody around, Ryuusei sat on the ground waiting for everyone else in order for the class to advance. @seanmizushima | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She stared too much out of the window, where was Kanna? How was Zuzu doing? What was she doing lately? The school nurse might not be a bad idea. But right now she would have to consider classes and when she broke her own bubble of daydreaming, she noticed Sean next to her and smiled at him, greeting with a good morning and looking back at the chicken. Hero school classes were never normal were they, it would be really a shame but it was the thing that was true and the girl wondered if she would ever understand. Perhaps after a few more months, having joined in August and many more students connecting with her and she learning their names, it was not that bad. She should continue with that, she could not only rely on Kanna all the time.
She looked at the screen as soon as she heard the bell and a voice. When the person came into view she was surprised, obviously, the voice had not been Aeris but this person was their new homeroom teacher? She wondered why there seemed to be a competition with Geist but perhaps that was just a joke and she listened to the instruction. To find something around the school grounds to help them with survival. However, their hero outfit was not allowed but would the belt that belonged her outfit be okay if that was the only thing, it contained the marbles, albeit she must have the pouch with marbles with her in her bag. After guessing that she threw her favourite lipstick to someone to activate her quirk, she had considered to bring her small piece of ammunition with her.
She remained seated when the message was over, not because she did not know where to go or something but because she wondered in a moment of survival would the marbles be enough, survival in what way? If it was the idea of the survival island that she had tried with her fellow cooking club members during the Semper Fi demonstration than the marbles would be of no use and she would rather pick someone like Haruto or Akio for help, purifying water or heating up or cooling down enough to help with survival. Considering they were probably getting teachings about regular survival in a battle, she decided to go with her assumption and stood up. She left her bag on her table but got the smaller bag, nothing more than a fancy pouch with the marbles out of it. This was easier, good she decided to keep it with her instead of bringing it and keeping it in her locker.
As she had no place to go to find something, she walked towards the training ground and was joined by Sean, with nothing more but the pouch in her hands and her thoughts wondering if she had made the right choice or if she should have come with a bottle of water. She noticed that when she arrived only Ryuusei was there with the teacher now in the flesh. She wasn't sure if she had taken long to consider this but apparently not that much, so it was okay. She simply held up the pouch,"This contains marbles, helps me to use my quirk." More she did not plan on saying it, it was already better than expensive lipstick. She looked around, she still was unsure but she had not shared her thoughts, calm and composed is what Kanna would say, panic later. Jaeger had not said they could not work together, so maybe she could depend on Sean's water quirk very well. She looked at her friend shortly and just stood aside for the other students to show up. |

words: 438. tag: Jasmine Noir . notes: What's an important thing to have to ensure survival? Friendship! |
As his fellow classmates began to arrive, Sean began to wonder where the teacher was. Or was the chicken their teacher? It was confusing, but Sean would not have a problem being taught by a chicken if it could teach well. Suddenly from out of nowhere, a loud energetic voice grabbed the boy's attention. As he wondered where the voice was coming from, the chicken lowered its head, and a projection of some cool looking cyborg/robot guy appeared.
Introducing himself as Jaeger, their new homeroom teacher, he then began to explain things. Sean was excited for multiple reasons. First, new teacher! How awesome was that? Second, the class was going to get a nice exercise at the training grounds. Again, awesome! Third, their teacher was a cyborg/robot guy! SO. DAMN. AWESOME!!
Sean listened as Jaeger instructed everyone to bring one item they believed would increase their survival in the wake of a disaster. Well that was easy! Sean already had that part covered. In his bag lay a small pack of water bottles he got from his dorm room, which counted as being a part of campus grounds. Not counting oxygen, water was the most important thing a human needed to survive. Plus, being able to control water with his quirk meant that Sean could shape that water into whatever he desired. Sean had no doubt that such a versatile tool at his disposal would prove to be not only useful for whatever Jaeger had planned, but also very vital. Even if he could not bring a lot of water, it was still far better than nothing.
Taking one of his 1 Liter water bottles with him (as Jaeger said to bring one thing, Sean doubted that he would be able to get away with bringing more than one bottle), Sean headed out the classroom. Walking with Rowan, they made their way to the training grounds as instructed. They were not the first to arrive, but it was fine, seeing as they made it within the time limit Jaeger had given the class. As Sean listened to Rowan explain her choice in the item she brought, he smiled. Great minds think alike! "Yeah, I brought this bottle of water for a similar reason. Not only is it useful for my quirk, but water is just an extremely important thing to have in general."
Looking at Rowan, Sean really hoped that this exercise would be one where everyone worked together to complete their goal. Or at least one where he could have teammates or a partner. After all, survival was easier to pull off when working together with others.
