Well a deal was a deal. And boy, was she feeling her end of it.
With Muramasa having been resurfacing a few times in the past month, Mia had finally managed to catch him in one of his baiting acts. Maybe that was what he'd wanted, maybe he'd been just trying to bait her into some kind of trick, some kind of trial again... she didn't know and quite frankly she was getting to the point she didn't care. He'd been putting too many lives at risk with this little game of cat and mouse between them, wanting to see her finally step into her rage state again. Maybe he was getting tired of it not working...Whatever the case, here they were.
Muramasa wasn't going as all out this time. A lot of his lesser mooks had been rounded up in their last riot, leaving just him and a few of his elites left. Any heroes who tried to get closer to the main fight were being held off by said elites, leaving Muramasa and Mia to fight on their own, and with the self imposed limiters on Mia herself, the fight wasn't exactly going her way.
"Ya know... you ain't gotten any less ugly...!" She tried to tease him with a weak breath. The drugs Sophie had perscribed her... she could feel them starting to burn up in her system. The Red flesh was breaking out in patches and marks and she wasn't sure if she could really hold it off for long... what she did know though was this wasn't a fight she was gonna win easily. Pride wasn't even bringing her down this time, she had back up on route... but if she drew this out too long she'd end up just being another threat they had to deal with.
"And I see you're still a fool who hasn't learned to channel their rage... you really thinking you can beat me in that pathetic state!?" Muramasa's words started calm but flowed into a yell as he charged down Mia. His fists came down towards her, barely caught in her palms. Her bare heels dug into the tarmac, pushed back through the rough surface and barely managing to stop the advance, and as he continued to push, and her red patches of skin continued to spread, it was clear which of them was winning.
"What can I say... red's never really been... my color...!"
As she continued to hold back the might of Muramasa Mia's eyes glanced to the audience around them. The police and some other emergency services, a handful of heroes had been called in to hold the civilians back, but any heroes who tried to join the fight were being fought off by Muramasa's elites... she didn't see Jasmine yet, but knowing that kid, whether she caught the text Mia sent or just ended up watching the news it wouldn't be long before she was here... she just had to hope Muramasa wasn't packing enough backup to keep her busy too.
"You're not walking out of this like last time...!"
"I could say the same for you, RedHorn...!~"

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ Hnnnnnm…! Hnnnnnm…! Hnnnnnm…! Eyes which were glued to her latest research proposal lifting up at the sound of something rumbling on the coffee table in front of her, for Sophie Sequoia there was nothing quite like a bout of intellectual stimulation to follow up on a day of education at UA, however as her cell phone quivered and begged for her attention the young woman couldn’t help but find her attention being pulled away and drawn toward it. What’s this…? Expecting to see a message from a friend in the community or even something saucy or even scandalous from one of those lucky souls who had caught her eye and her message stream recently but instead seeing a news alert flash up on her notifications, the brow of the blonde tightened as she read a title that she probably suspected she might have seen sooner or later, and yet still felt surprised by. REDHORN AND MURAMASA CLASH ONCE MORE! It’s about Mia? Always expecting there would be something different about the day when the woman she had been treating so recently finally stepped up to challenge the demons that had blighted her, like an energy in the air or a sense of foreboding but that feeling like it had been absent up to this very moment, as Sophie unlocked the screen and followed the link which had been provided by her handy little device she didn’t know whether to be excited or afraid of what she might find at the end. And she wasn’t the only one. Speedy G’s of internet leading her to the image of a newscaster offering a blurb on how some of the best and worst of quirk society were trading blows, the grave undertone and hints that the media were lacing in confidence in the heroines ability to keep a lid on her so called ‘Red Rage’ were something that seemed to prickle the feeling of the professor, and prompt her to put her research aside for the moment and focus more on what was going on. Usually these sorts of things aren’t my thing but… When it’s her? Certainly bright enough to keep up with current events but not one who had found all that much time to delve into the media hype around battles between the defenders of the peace and those who wished to crush it, ordinarily Miss Sequoia thought she would have better things to be doing but on this occasion she couldn’t help but get sucked in, and was quickly watching a live stream from an intrepid cameraman though her computer because of that. Concerned about her friend of course and that part of the reason she had set up a little alert on any hero-related news regarding Mia in advance, as the party who had helped her through that difficult time she felt invested in seeing how things turned out both because of professional and personal interest, and now that the womanly wonder was facing her biggest test it felt like it was now or never to see if all that work she had done in her lab would pay off. Those red patches… Quickly seeing with some sense of alarm that maybe she hadn’t quite gotten the combination right when the lens zoomed in and a voice spoke of further woe at the sigh of scarlet splotches appearing on the skin of their brave defender, the hairs on the back of the blue eyed beauties neck stood on end at the sight she had dreaded to see, and she found her pulse quickening as a cold feeling flooded her gut. Was the dosage too weak after all? Everything that she had done over those weeks and months working toward preventing that rouge reflex, Sophie bit into her lip and her eyes narrowed as she blamed herself for the result, and felt even guiltier when she saw the manner in which it seemed like the feminine fighter was distracted and assumed that the amazon herself was feeling anxious because of it too. Don’t let it or him get the better of you! Quickly getting the impression from the way that Mia was scanning the crowd that she was worried about the repercussions of what might happen if she lost control, the fists of the fox grew tighter as she watched what was occurring, and silently willed her friend to keep her composure, to remember that she was better than anything that was going on inside or outside of her. Gosh darnit, I feel so powerless here sitting at home! It was hard though, tremendously hard to just watch what was happening to that fine and fair femme that she had flirted with so many times do battle with both a brute and the beast inside herself, the blonde couldn’t help but clench her teeth and look toward her door, and wonder if she could make it to the scene in time in order to give this valiant vixen her support in person… @tag | Word Count: ### | Cosy

Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!!!
On any other occasion Jasmine would've relished the opportunity of flying around Tokyo using her quirk. The freedom she felt above ground was unlike any other, making her feel quite free inside this metal cage of a city that was Tokyo. This time was, unfortunately, a little different. The circumstances behind her being allowed to use her quirk had caught her by surprise. A simple text from Mia and a news broadcast she'd caught a glimpse of not five seconds later. Muramasa was back in town and the Oni was already facing off against him.
Jasmine's jaw clenched as she picked up the pace, a bead of sweat trailing down her brow as she zoomed above the streets like a missile. Loud booms echoed in her wake as she utilized her maximum speed, anxious to get into the battle as quickly as possible. There was no way in hell she was going to let Mia fight this bastard on her own again. Not after what happened last time. Not after the public treated the Oni the way they did when she was all that stood between them and annihilation so many goddamn times in the past. Not this game. This stupid game of cat and mouse was going to end.
Luckily for her, Caldera had already been on her way to Mia's for their usual rounds of patrol when she'd gotten the text. What came next was a no brainer, leaving behind scores of scared and confused civilians, cowering on the streets as they probably thought a terrorist had come to blow some shit up. She had managed to reach the fight quite quickly due to her speed, crimson eyes taking stock of the situation below. She clicked her tongue.
"You son of a bitch...!" She hissed before spinning in the air and beginning to dive downwards like a missile. A hand was cocked back, sparks of energy crackling all throughout the limb before condensing in the palm of her hand. When she was close enough, she'd release a large wave of several explosions by swiping her hand sideways, intent on bombarding Muramasa with the force of several Mortar grenades hitting him face first. With any luck that would get him off of her partner long enough for them to come up with a plan of action to deal with this bastard properly. If not, well... she'd deal with what came.

As Mia and Muramasa stared eachother down, Mia's wincing, grit teeth expression of frustration and pain at the pressure in her forearms soon seemed to be forcing itself into a wide grin, a still pain filled expression but damn she knew what was coming and she'd love to see Muramasa's face when it struck. Her red gaze met his and her tusks flashed brightly in her smile. The sound of distant explosions meeting her ears, growing closer with each ripple along the air. "You're about to be in for a world of hurt fuck face...!~" She'd have loved the satisfaction of beating him alone, but if it took getting her most trusted a-... Her Sister in on this to help her take this fucker down for good? That was a shot to her pride she was willing to take.
But her own joy began to fade as Muramasa seemed to smile in turn.
"What. You think I didn't account for your friends? Seems I outmatch you in brains and brawn miss Oni...!"
Their gazes snapped off to the side, watching as Jaz came in with the making's of an intense explosion flowing through her arm. Muramasa's own smile only seemed to grow and Mia tried to pull out of their deadlock- "JAZ ITS-" Before she could fully call out the trap like nature of this encounter, a thick, meaty paw clasped around her mouth, Muramasa slamming her head into the ground in her moment of weakness, her wild red gaze slamming back to his, fury in it now as her red patches pulsed out further. By now she knew she would have went full red if not for the drugs in her system... she'd have to thank Sophie for that, but she knew it couldn't hold out for long. Damn her quirk... doing this to her... able to burn out the one thing that was meant to help her...!
As far as Jaz went, one of Muramasa's goons seemed to have been standing by just for her. A tall, toned young man with wild silver hair slicked back in two peaks. As Jaz's arm lurched forward, his own came in to meet her. There seemed to be a ripple in the air, and the force of her explosion seemed to be refined to a single point just inches away from his palm. Mia had no idea what was going on but before any of them could get a good handle on things Jaz's explosion seemed to burst from that newly refined point, kicking back in Jaz's direction and that of Muramasa, Mia, and his goon, everyone scattering from the eruption.
Mia, gasping for air, rolled to her feet as quickly as she could. "Kid whoever that is Muramasa kept him for you he-!" Before she could finish Mia quickly found that Muramasa had been quick to react in turn, hissing as a handful of her hair was wrenched back, only to slam back forward, a tusk chipping against the tarmac as she felt her face pound through the road, the crowd gasping just from how painful it likely looked.
"Keep her busy. Our business is just beginning." Muramasa chimed in, holding Mia's face into the road as she slowly pushed herself back up against it.
With Jaz, the nimble looking man flipped back to his own feet, the explosion doing some clear damage to his outfit but... a deep series of veins were apparent on his face, flowing up from his shoulder and likely his arm. He'd taken a good burst of Muramasa's personal drug, so whatever pain he was feeling? He was likely numb to it all the same. "Been looking for a good fight!~" He pounded his fist into his palm, two other goons rushing up to his side. Neither seemed to be subject to the same drug, moreso acting as his backup. One of them seeming to be made from green crystals, as the other was... far smaller, barely 3 feet in height, hiding his face under a hoodie, but the shadow was so unnatural, almost as if his very face was just a dark shadow with bright yellow eyes.
"So you wanna stop the boss huh!?~ Gotta get through us!~"

So zoned into her target, Jasmine was a split second too late to notice the apparent counter-measure which Muramasa had prepared for her. As he appeared in her peripheral vision, she did not stop. Whoever this bastard was, she was going to go through him on her way to that big ugly brute!...
...or so she thought.
Jasmine's eyes widened as time seemingly slowed for the briefest of moments. As she released the massive energies of the C2N14x she stored in her arm, the explosion never blossomed. Rather, it had been stopped in its tracks the second it left the confines of her skin, looking it had been sucked up by her new opponent's palm. Or rather, a point directly in front of his palm. What the fu- a sudden flash of light erupted from that very same point before all of her explosions, condensed into one large blast, erupted into every direction from that very same point, dowsing her with the brute force of her very own attack.
Caldera winced and grunted as the shockwave of the counter sent her flying backwards but was quick to rebound. An explosion at her feet fixed her aerial posture, enabling her to land back on the ground, feet sliding against the pavement as she halted into a crouch. She heaved a hot and steamy breath, eyes narrow with burning fury. This cheeky motherfucker... she thought, clearly irate. That was not his own attack. In her training to be able to control her quirk, Jasmine had blown herself up with her explosions far too many times to mistake this particular sensation. Whatever he had done, this asshole had somehow managed to change the direction of Jasmine's attack and subsequently used it against her.
She caught a glimpse of him, his outfit charred. That told her two things. One, he probably couldn't fully redirect her blasts, otherwise he'd have been unscathed and she'd be feeling the brunt of what she thought should've been a stronger attack if aimed at a singular direction; and two...
He was going to be an annoying piece of shit to deal with.
Turning over her shoulder, Jasmine laid her eyes on the mass of civilians having gathered a little ways away. Some Pro Heroes were trying to keep them at bay but, as always, the masses needed to spectate. She growled; property damage was one thing, but if she had to hold her explosions back because she was worried of hurting a non-combatant would be one hell of an annoying handicap to deal with.
Whatever Jasmine was planning to say, though, died the minute she heard Mia's voice. Turning back to the fight at hand, Jasmine felt her own version of Red Rage heat her chest up with fury. It took every fiber of her conscious being to stop her body from moving all on its own. She rationalized that lunging in there without a plan would likely make things worse, especially with these now-three asswipes standing in her way, one of whom had a quirk that clearly diminished the usefulness of Eruption.
She heard Muramasa's voice and the exact words he uttered. A vein popped on her forehead. This cheeky bitch. "Oh so you need three of your extras to keep little ol me busy? Good help's hard to come by these days when no one wants to follow a nobody, I suppose," Caldera spat back, clear venom in her voice. "Oi, Mia! Don't worry about me! I'm about to dumpster these clowns and come join you... unless you stop being pathetic and waste him already like you should be doing! Head in the game!"
"A good fight? Get through you? Who the hell even are you?" The black-gold haired lass hissed out darkly as she got back up on her feet. From the looks of things she'd have to fight all three of them at the same time if she wanted to get to Mia and Muramasa and to make matters worse she knew next to nothing about their abilities. One could redirect her explosions. The other looked like a walking crystal, but by the looks if him Jasmine assumed he was the tank of the group. And the third one... the third one felt like the weak link. A support of some kind? She couldn't tell.
But what also hadn't escaped Jasmine's senses was the fact that the redirection guy seemed... on edge. The veins popping out of his forehead, his tone, how hungry he seemed for battle, the bloodlust... it was almost like he was hopped up on something. The play, then, was clear. Get him riled up. Whatever he was on was going to help her. Get him to act alone. Disorganize them. Make sure they have no teamwork. She could exploit that.
"This ain't the day to pick a fight with the wrong weight class, clown. Go back to amateur league," she spat, her eyes narrowing. Get him pissed off. Make him unable to think clearly... and go for the weak link.
An explosion at her feet immediately sent the student towards the three combatants at great speeds. Bobbing and weaving on her way, she employed a zig-zag pattern on her approach to confuse and disorient anybody trying to follow or intercept her, making use of every bit of agility at her body's disposal, darting behind enemy lines like a bullet. Her target was clear. The little guy. Take him out of the picture as fast as possible. Make it a two versus one. End the fight before it even started with as minimal amount of energy used as possible. This was what she needed to do if she wanted to assist Mia to the best of her ability.
The second she approached, Caldera attacked, joining her hands together above her head. Energies crackled between her knuckles as she swung down on the top of the smaller minion's head with explosive force, intent on flattening him into the ground and leave nothing behind.

Mia felt her fingers sinking into the tarmac from how much force she needed to exert on it just to keep her head out of the ground. Muramasa was an intimidating foe and even months later, Mia could tell, she wasn't on his level. Not without tapping into her red rage state. Maybe if she got just an arm, just put one limb at risk. She could handle it right? Just something to give her ground to fight on!? She was able to just keep her face a few inches off the ground without it, looking up to Jaz as they called out to her...
Heh... she always did know what to say huh...?!
Mia's body dropped a half inch, just enough give to shock Muramasa with the just as rapid increase in force, his arm dipping down with her before the sudden shift forced his grasp to slip, rearing her head back at an angle that rammed her horn right into his shoulder, the sharp point digging deep through his tough skin. Her hands soon joined it, grasping at the sides of his arms and with a roar of pain, his muscle digging into the scar of her horn, she tossed him over her head, watching him skim along the damaged tarmac of the street that had become their battleground. Mia's eye was twitching, the aggravation to her horn scar forcing red patches to start breaking out across her face, one of her bright red eyes turning a harsh golden haze. She could feel the rage building... but if that's what it took to beat him...!
No! NO! She knew her mind wasn't the clearest, she knew that's where this was going, the angrier she got the less she'd be willing to hold it off but... SHE COULDN'T LET HIM WIN! She wasn't about to go down like some little bitch! Not with everyone watching! Not with the heroes fighting around her. NOT WITH JAZ HERE! The patches on her arms rapidly stretched out and coated her entire arms in her thick red skin, rushing to meet Muramasa in a clash of fists. "You ain't doing me in so easily this time bastard!"
Muramasa's smile seemed to persist even as Mia came at him with such ferocity, rising to his feet and moving to meet the much more intense blow of her fists, their knuckles colliding, a wave of sound and force washing over the crowd around them, some of the police officers forming the barricade briefly knocked off their feet.
"That's it demon! UNLEASH YOUR RAGE! LET ME SEE IT!"
Back with Jaz and the mooks her words clearly weren't resting well with the silver haired leader of the pack, the purple veins visible through his skin almost seeming to pulse like a twitch, his right eye, entirely blood shot, seeming to grow sharper as he tried to advance on her. His diamond bodied companion placed an arm before him, likely not hopped up on the same drugs as him thanks to his unqiue biology, and simply shook his head.
"We got a job. Don't let her get in your head."
"Oh come ooooon...~" The leader hissed playfully. "The boss chose me to deal with her if she showed up...!~ He knows I can take her."
"He also knows what's in you right now so-SHIT!" Diamondhead pulled back his arm and got into a more ready position alongside his companions. Jaz was coming in hot and fast and it was hard to tell which of them was her target. There were easy assumptions that could be made, and with her explosions it wasn't like she even needed to choose a target, but the 3 of them prepared all the same. The smaller shadowy fella backed off more than a little, clearly scared of her approach. While the other two were ready for a fight, following the focused rage commandments of Muramasa's gang, the small one was clearly much more timid, the runt of the litter in nature and power.
"Who you calling extras!?"
As Jasmine launched over their heads, Diamondhead slammed his arms into the ground, crystals emerging from the ground beneath them and arcing over their head in a dome of protective green. Jaz's explosion was clearly able to do some damage to it, the crystals cracking. One of her true, arm shattering blasts? Easily could have obliterated anything this guy could have put up and then some, but this barrier seemed to hold as much was necessary. The team worked quick however. A patch of darkness seemed to cover the roof of the dome, a pair of bright yellow eyes in the darkness before it spread apart creating a hole in the dome as Silver hair rushed up into the air. He reached out his palm first, absorbing any explosion Caldera threw at him before slaming a swirling kick towards her chest, knocking her further up into the air, and with a throw of his arm, tossed his vacuum-ball up after her.
If she made an explosion, the force contained in the sphere would explode next to her with immense force. If however she'd held back, there would still be a concussive burst. The air that had been condensed in place of an explosion would still pack a punch, but nothing close to what it could have been.
Silver hair wanted to chase the fight wherever it lead but as his dome fell apart and their shadowy friend re-formed, diamond head grabbed his leg, pulling him back down and keeping him to the ground.
"Stick together! That's the job!"
"Alright alright! GEEZE!"

"Damn it!" Jasmine growled through grit teeth as her attack had been thwarted by a massive surge of crystal, the crystalline structure rising above the three of Muramasa's henchmen in defiance of Caldera's attack. In an attempt to simple test the waters the lass hadn't packed as much firepower into her attack as she could have, resulting in the crystals simply cracking and not breaking apart. This was enough of a tell of Diamondhead's quirk, the guy she assumed these crystals belonged to.
Caldera cocked another fist filled with crackling energy back, this time indenting to rip the construct apart through sheer force... right up until a strange hole popped up right below her, making her eyes widen with surprise. The Silvery haired bastard quickly appeared in her peripherals, seemingly absorbing what was still left of her prior explosion. She hesitated with her followup attack, quickly reigning the planned explosion in. She couldn't risk him doubling down on the absorption and then releasing it all right in her face. Said hesitation, of course, ended up costing her.
A kick into her chest made her grunt as it sent her into the air, hands in front of her face to block whatever might've come next. Her eyes narrow, Jasmine attempted to see what the followup would be. She saw Silver dude swipe his arm and throw something at her. Something... inanimate. It wasn't even a real object. Rather what looked like an actual ripple in the air was flung directly at her. She felt it, then. It was her own goddamn energy.
Jasmine roared as she swiped both of her arms forward, releasing two explosive waves directly at the incoming orb. The collision was immediate, resulting in a massive explosion of frightening proportions that made it seem like Jasmine had fired off two Mk3s simultaneously. She grunted as both the shockwave and immense heat were immediate, jerking her smoldering body even higher into the air.
Implosions... son of a bitch... she thought to herself as her body seemingly floated above ground. It'd been a while since she felt more than just the recoil of her own quirk's making. She was now privy to the abilities of all three of the goons. If she kept going at the same course, this fight would likely end up being far too annoying to deal with. Diamondhead was the defensive tower capable of defending against nearly anything Jasmine threw against him, barring her strongest attacks which she had a limited supply of and needed to save for the fight against Muramasa. That shadow fellow seemed to be able to create openings within objects at will, meaning that the combination of Diamonds and Shadow created the perfect measure of counter-offense after supreme defense. Then... well. Then Silver followed. Silver, who, by all accounts, seemed to be a direct counter to Jasmine herself, able to implode her explosions and then later send them back at her.
Stay calm, Jaz.
I know.
Run it back.
Switch it up.
You know what to do.
She sure as shit didn't expect to remember Darren, of all people.
Caldera's eyes closed for the briefest of moments. The world around froze, darkened and deafened as the third year focused inward. Her quirk, a blazing roar of fiery chaos, begging to be set free. Jasmine cultivated it. Stoked the fire. Let it run rampant all throughout her body, yet never let it escape the confines of her frame. She could feel the heat spreading around her like an all encompassing inferno but instead of harming her, it only offered to empower her.
When Jasmine opened her eyes again, they had undergone a slight change. While they were still a burning crimson, they had become much more ferocious, radiating so much energy they left a crackling line of red energy every time they moved. Her whole body seemed to have now adapted a slightly glow as it radiated power, those very same crackles circling her limbs and overall frame in the air. The heat around her had climbed to degrees much higher than a sauna, very literal steam seemingly oozing off of her skin.
Yet despite this show of sheer chaotic energy... she was calm.
She zoned in on her target from the corner of her eye and within a flash disappeared from view. Her aerial maneuverability and speed seemingly spiked, an unnatural show of agility coming through as she navigated the air using miniature explosions at her feet - small, yet incredibly potent. Caldera approached street level, yet didn't stop, changing her trajectory and dashing forward at irregular angles, almost like an ever changing vector. Whatever crystals popped up were swiftly dodged, yet the haste of her approach never faltered. The glow of her eyes never wavered, focused on none other than Silver.
The second she was right in front of him, she would hop up using speed that felt practically unnatural. Her fist cocked back, she swung it forward... yet at the apex of her swing, a sudden explosion at her elbow further increased the velocity of her punch that she aimed directly at his face. An explosion which, based on how condensed it was, would equip Jasmine's punch with the force of an Mk2 explosion, the only difference being that it was all centered into one small point... which probably made it all the more deadly.

"Look at her with some fight in her! Sparks and everything! The boss sure knows how to treat us don't he?~" Silver was definitely liking the sudden shift in the student heroes look, grinning wildly as he got into an animalistic position, just about ready to charge on all fours as she corrected herself in the air. Diamondhead and shadow weren't looking so certain. Knowing for a fact what Mia was like in her rage state, putting the red in redhorn, they weren't exactly too eager to see what her supposed sidekick could do, getting into more formal ready positions themselves, Diamondhead ready to drop a shield at a moment's notice.
With Jasmine rushing in at street level Silver rushed off to meet her, ignoring the worried and stern protests of his partners, he burst off the ground, his own arm reared back. The ripple formed ahead of his palm, ready to slam into anything that Jasmine thought she could throw at him. His wild expression didn't falter, ready to meet her mono a mono, he didn't need a team, he didn't need the drugs, this bitch didn't even know what she was up against! SHE-!
And just as quickly, the confidence shot out of his system as fast as he shot back across the street. Jasmine felt the painful yet satisfying sensation of his nose cracking against her fist, points of his skull fracturing, and probably a few teeth being dislodged in the process. The drug in his system helped numb the pain, but his body scraping across the street like a ragdoll was not a sensation he'd find easy to forget. Diamondhead and shadow were stunned as he just seemed to rocket past them, and while a groaning shift showed he was likely still able to find his feet, their worried gaze turned right back to Jasmine. Diamond head slammed down a wall of crystal between them, Shadow creating a hole in it's center, through which diamondhead sent out a barrage of crystals like a shielded gatling gun, just anything to slow that crazy bitch down.
"THIS IS WHY HE TOLD US TO WORK AS A UNIT YOU LUNATIC!!!"
Mia's focus was on Muramasa but even she could tell from here the kid was giving them hell. Everytime she heard an explosion she just imagined one of those goons taking it to the face, and even the moment of silence as she pulled back that punch was a sweet moment leading up to resounding satisfaction as she watched that silver haired mook skid across the street... but she needed to stay focused. The more punches she threw the more she was realizing the distinction between here and Muramasa. With her arms coated in red she was about his equal in strength, but despite his quirk supposedly filling him with rage like hers did... he was refined, controlled. He had to live in this state every single day, he knew how to control it how to harness it. Mia didn't yet. She could feel it starting to seep into her brain and she wasn't entirely sure she should deny it anymore, even if she knew that was the dumbass hormones talking! No! FOCUS! Keep pushing forward!
"I know your holding back. You think we can dance like this forever?" Muramasa ducked out of the way of one of her strikes, the force from it alone enough to whip his hair back, before coming in for his own strike. Mia felt something fracture in her face, on the verge of snapping but the muscles around it were refusing to let it shatter. She grit her teeth and tried to go in for a gut blow, only to find that even as she made the blow, a form head butt came down from Muramasa, meeting the blunt side of her horn and almost feeling like it drilled her own horn deeper into her forehead, the raw nerves screaming at her as she reared back.
"GAAAGH! YOU-!" She had to bite her tongue hard, the urge to curse there but she just channeled it into another advance. A right, left, right! A few sound blows! She slammed her foot, the earth quaking and throwing him off balance. A solid blow sent him back a fair few feet and created a greater opening. With wild eyes, both of which turning a deep gold now, she rushed forward to close the distance, a roar in the back of her throat. She wasn't gonna let him have the damn satisfaction today!
But oh, he was ready. Almost as if he'd just been testing what she could dish out. As much as the two of them were taking blows, he was taking them with much more grace than she was now. The smug smile on his lips was soon followed up with the skills to earn it, while Mia thought she had an opening, the wild frenzy she put herself in created an opening for him. With her guard entirely dropped in her charge, Muramasa delivered one, sound, muscle-bulging blow right to her chest, and with her feet off the ground mid-leap, all Mia could do was take it. It was almost faster than Silver's own launch, flying over the heads of the crowd and smashing through a store window, smoke billowing out from all the old antiques she'd smashed through in her landing.
She heard it... like a breaking down of the walls in her head... the subtle crackle in her horn before the casing fell away...
Two golden eyes were soon met with a third light in the smoke, a bulging, glowing horn. Mia's hands emerged first, grasping the edges of the shattered window. The police quickly divided the crowd with precision. They'd had training for this. They knew this might happen. Until some hero could stop her... they couldn't let anyone get between Mia and whatever was pissing her off.
She dragged herself out of the store, a mighty, bellowing roar in the back of her throat. The beast was awake.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!!!!"
Muramasa tipped his chin up, smiling.
"Nice to see you again, demon.~"

Where the hell was he!?
She'd lost him in the crowd somewhere earlier, shortly after the fighting had started. Probably ran off to try and get a better view of the battle. Idiot! A coward like him wasn't safe this close to something like this. She'd just have to push through and find him, huh? What thanks did she get for pulling Casper's stupid ass out of trouble again and again? First the bullies, now this! She'd have to give him a first class beating when she found him.
In her rage she pushed through the crowd, using her small frame to her advantage to slip through people's legs or squeeze through gaps as best she could. At one point she dropped her school bag but something told her not to go find it again. It was just homework, who cared? Gave her an excuse not to do it and she had all her music sheets online anyway. Mom would probably yell at her again but... well, when were she and dad ever not yelling these days?
Like a screeching missile, a figure appeared overhead, diving into the chaos she couldn't quite see yet. Yells and shouts, some cheers, some warnings, some screams of panic or alarm. Explosions rang out, people began filtering away. Policemen came to push back the crowd, keep them from getting too close to the action, or to outright disperse. Where on god's fucking green Earth was he!?
Kimi growled in frustration as she pushed past the two women in front of her, who in turn gave her scowls of disapproval themselves. Didn't really bother her though, she was used to those kinds of looks. Lately she'd also become used to those expressions suddenly disappearing once they recognized her as an upcoming idol. Just a bunch of fake, low-IQ bimbo people, that's who she was dealing with. They'd learn her name proper soon enough!
She was so close to the action now she could almost see what was happening and she was far enough away from the police officers that they didn't try to push her back or disperse the crowd. Sure she'd had to crawl under someone's legs to get through but-...
Holy hell...
Her heart sank as she finally saw the chaos. Caldera she'd seen before, especially during the recent zombie problem. Red Horn's right hand woman. A student at U.A. She'd at least shown herself to be more respectable than that demon of a woman she followed. Had she changed her look recently? It was pretty cool, she had to admit... Another quick glance around the crowd behind and beside her for Casper. Nothing. "That idiot's going to be the death of me I swear..." She muttered to herself.
But then that begged the question... if Caldera was here, where was the giant Baboon's Backside herself? Her vision scanned the scene, the chaos and dust and explosions making it difficult to make anyone else out. There was a large man, getting closer. A ruined shop across the street. Something was clawing its way out of the wrecked shopfront.
It was colored a solid crimson.
She'd seen that thing before. Her father's shop, just a few months ago. Red Horn. It was happening again. It was all happening again. No! No no no! NO! Her hands grasped the police cordon in front of her, drawing lines through the paintwork with her nails, snarling viciously as if she could hear it from this distance. Her thoughts were a mess. On one hand, she hated this woman, on the other... if she fell or succumbed to whatever was happening with her red skin... how was Kimi going to get her revenge? How could Kimi be the strongest Hero without being able to beat her?
Get up.... get up! Come on! Hero's don't lose like this!

Jasmine's unreadable expression was slowly morphed by a triumphant grin when she felt the familiar jolt of pain in her hand the second her knuckles smashed against Silver's face. It was obvious the guy was under the influence of something which ended up channeling his craze for battle but she couldn't tell whether it was that or him being a moron that prompted him to break formation and try tackling her by herself. Yet a surprise advantage was an advantage regardless of how abrupt it was. She wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth and instead assessed the situation once Silver went flying backwards.
She knew for a fact she managed to break his nose, especially if the steam of blood that came from the aforementioned part of his body as he helplessly rocketed across the street had any say in the matter.
The artist hadn't expected the need to use Phase Rush. It was still a highly experimental ability she'd learned out of necessity. Even though she was already mildly aware of the limitations of her quirk, having been trained by Chief Kokai and his squad of highly qualified operatives in the Police Force's Special Operations Division had further ingrained them into her mind. Not one to ignore any possible disadvantages she'd face, she quickly realized she needed something a little more... subtle. Something that allowed to use the explosive force of her quirk without it being as flashy or highly destructive as it normally was. She'd undergone a herculean amount of contemplative training until she realized something she thought she should've understood about her ability from the very start.
Her quirk wasn't creating explosions. It was converting the special energy her body was able to create into explosions.
Going by this logic, it was highly likely that Jasmine was likely able to utilize the aforementioned energy for something other than just ejecting it as a highly volatile and explosive construct. Yet while the idea wasn't unreasonable, actually trying to make it work was a different matter altogether. Teaching an old dog new tricks, as the saying went. Jasmine had to completely reprogram her thought process when it came to her approach in fighting. Frankly with how much she failed at it Jasmine felt like she had inadvertently came back to square one of control training and while it was definitely a pain in the ass... the firecracker had been there before. If she'd been there before it meant she had reflected on it and her brain, which was highly prone to overthinking things into either perfection, madness, or both, had thought about ways she could've made the process much more effective.
Which brought her to the ability known as Phase Rush being designed on such short notice.
The ability wasn't rocket science if you avoided looking under the hood. Simply put, Jasmine channeled the energy her body was able to create and instead of outwardly releasing it, she spread it across her entire body to empower herself. In layman's terms, it was as though Jasmine had doped herself up, making herself faster and stronger than before. The fact that the energies were already swirling inside her body meant that Jasmine was immediately ready to expunge the whenever she needed to without the windup time she'd normally require to generate energy and release an explosion. This, as a result, gave her mobility, and subsequently unpredictability, quite a staggering boost. The cherry on top was the realization that in Phase Rush she could also use Darren's Bullshit to perfection...
...and as we look to the present, clearly it had worked.
Despite how experimental and likely to fail it was, Phase Rush proved to be the trump card she needed when facing against someone who can very literally suck the life out of her fire. Silver was gone and dusted... for the time being, anyway. Undoubtedly whatever was fueling him would get him to get back up on his feet. Instead, Jasmine focused on the two remaining thugs who, despite having panicked, quickly reacted to what had happened and tried to both defend and attack at the same time.
As the crystal pillar was raised between herself and her opponents, Jasmine's mind quickly recalled how strong the structure was the first time it got in her way. Sharp eyes observed the gap that had appeared in the pillar, a barrage of crystals sent her way. Jasmine couldn't help the confident smirk that appeared on her face as she formulated her next step.
Or rather, decided on using yet another one of her newly developed tricks.
As mentioned previously, the presence of Phase Rush's effects on her body meant Jasmine had the ability to quickly unleash the energy that was empowering her. With how much training she'd currently underwent with the ability it was a certainty that the action would drain quite a bit of her stamina and likely make her unable to utilize it again for a little while but given the fact that Silver was most likely out for the count for at least a little while meant that Jasmine had enough breathing room to dispatch of his accomplices... which was exactly what she planned on doing to get to Muramasa as quickly as possible.
Her hands were quickly brought together, knuckles clenched. Jasmine's legs were spread apart, her weight shifting slightly to keep herself from being blown back by her own attack. A low snarl left her as she exhaled steam, the crackling energies surrounding her quickly condensing into a singular point at her fists. The temperature around the black-gold haired teenager skyrocketed neigh instantly as she begun to rotate her arms, slowly spreading them apart.
"Phoenix Blade!" she declared, far too giddy with excitement to keep herself from doing what she thought was utterly cringe and declaring the finisher's name. Jasmine continued to separate her hands and arms and move them in a circular motion which prompted the start of the show. As soon as her hands had begun to move, a torrent of explosive fire was released outwards, two large and sharp lines of chaos shooting forward with a deafening roar and initiating a spiraling dance. The two beaming rays of flame and explosions kept growing closer as though magnetized, the dance between them becoming more ferocious with each inch it took away from the distance in between. Before long the attack morphed into what looked like a large spiral that took the form of a blade with an explosion as its edge.
The second it made contact with both the defensive and offensive crystals Jasmine's attack snarled angrily. The resulting chaos (or glorious display, based on your perspective) frankly seemed like it'd eradicate the entire damn street.
A heavy breath left Jasmine as her chest lightly heaved up and down with each breath she took, already feeling the aftershock of the incomplete Phase Rush being released offensively. She didn't have time to let up, though. Despite having engaged her surprise counter-onslaught on the unsuspecting thugs, Jasmine was fully aware of what was going on with Mia.
Her sharp azures drifted towards the police officers behind them, "Get the peanut gallery farther away from here!" she barked her order aloud. "It's about to get far too dangerous to even spectate!"

Post by Mia Kearney on Nov 9, 2020 8:40:37 GMT -4
Mia was slow for a moment, the red had overtaken her and she could feel herself almost physically fighting against it inside her own head, a rapid shake of her head, like a wild animal unsure where a sound was coming from, or a breeze that tickled their nose. The pupils in her eyes had been enveloped by the golden glow similar to the raw nerves of her now exposed horn, breathing heavily as her shoulders rose and sagged with each hefty breath. As she started to lose the fight against the nature of her own quirk… she just knew one thing.
She was angry. Enraged. Furious.
And she knew just who to aim that at.
“GAAAAAAAAAAGH!”
Charging the distance between her and Muramasa, the now bulking behemoth of a woman brought back her fist and slammed him square in the chest. He didn’t even seem to attempt a guard or a deflection, taking her full might square on and crashing through the street they’d turned into their battleground, the raging beast pounding on the ground like a display of dominance at how far they had sent him, rearing back with another loud battle cry, their whole body tense, bulging with veins and muscle as she grew wilder and less restrained. Last time Muramasa had distracted her, sent her on a rampage with one of his goons, but this time he seemed happy to continue the fight.
“Hehhehe… good… You’ve gotten stronger…!~” Muramasa had joy in his voice, even as he winced dragging himself from the crevice he’d dug into the pavement, brushing the rubble off his shoulders and flexing out his bag to dislodge a few embedded pebbles. Despite the blow he didn’t seem to be building, which only seemed to make the raging beast even more angry. As if his lack of injury itself was a further challenge. Police by now were trying to evacuate rather than just hold back the audience to the fight, but the civilains were proving difficult. They managed to give the two a good few more houses on either side but the civilians were proving hard to disperse. While many did run right away, just as many were practically fighting to stay and watch. Some excited to see Mia prove them right, that she was a monster, some eager to see her rise above that belief and ‘beat the bad guy’. Muramasa seemed to soak it in more than Redhorn in her current state, his arms open, taking a deep breath of satisfaction.
“Ah… the cheer of an engaged crowd… as many crying for your demise as your victory… right now I doubt you care… but that’s the beauty of rage… it lets you block out all distractions. All frivolous thoughts and bothersome side attractions to your true desires… I can see the mindless look in your eye. Rage has consumed you… but let us see if you can transcend Kearney. Let’s see if you might be worth my time today…~”
Mia grunted deeply before breaking into another charge, and Muramasa rushed to meet her. The class of their fists was direct and sharp, and even with the crowd moved back, the force of their impact was enough to ruffle the hair of every civilian in attendance, and it was far from the last blow that would clash between them. Meeting eachother blow for blow, Mia’s wild rampage met directly by a much more focused, refined, swift match from Muramasa, but as Mia’s rage carried her, the speed of her wild thrashing at least seemed to be keeping the equally brutal titan at bay.
=======================================================
Back with Jasmine it seemed to diamondhead that they were at least managing to keep her at bay, groaning from behind them signalling that Silver was working his way to his feat at the very least, they just needed to keep Jasmine busy till they had their main player back in the fight… but of course, as a protégé of Red Horn it wasn’t like Jasmine was going to give them much of a chance at that. Before he could really process what was going on, Diamondhead pulled back shadow from the portal he was creating in the crystals, tossing him back and away before thrusting his hands forward. A rapid growth of crystals surged up from the ground, barrelling forward as if to meet the blazing inferno in a clash of endurance against raw power. For a brief moment, he may have even believed he had a chance…
The sound of shattering crystals soon followed such a foolish thought. The burning blaze that had been curving around his defences soon broke through and burst across him, any defences he put up only mitigating the damage, leaving an almost black scorched form where the man stood. His bright yellow eyes pushed through the mask of darkness now coating him head to toe, his hands slowly trying to close into fists, the ground shifting as his cyrstals seemed about to form…. But he couldn’t hold it. He fell forward as Jasmine called her advice to the officers surrounding them. Diamondhead’s resolve shattered from that single attack, much like many of his crystals.
Notably, shadow and silver weren’t easily found behind the carnage Jasmine’s attack had wrought.
“PEAKABOO!~”
A wild cry came from about Jasmine’s feet, the yellow eyes of the shadowy blob engraved in the street before her, rapidly parting and replaced by the wild gaze of the silver haired implosion freak, his hand reared back, a vacuum held in his grasp, and trying to thrust it directly towards Jasmine. If it had the force to suck in her mighty explosions, it could likely do some hefty damage if it made direct contact with her flesh.

The sight of the ensuing chaos right before did little to deter Jasmine's focus from the civilians being ushered away by the authorities. Even as the ground shook around her the black-gold haired heroine-in-training was taking stock of the situation: the messy terrain; the scared or otherwise enthused people; the off-hand vantage points; the large variety of hazards scattered all about... and most importantly?
Mia goddamn Kearney.
This was bad. This was so fucking bad. From what Jasmine could gather Mia had fully succumbed to her Red Rage state she had been able to witness during her first few weeks back in Japan. If there was one thing the American hadn't expected it was to be thrust right back into the fight despite knowing how rowdy this hero gig could be. What made matters worse was that back then she had the aid of three other Pro Heroes. Now, though? Now it was just her. The fact that the enemy brought back up this time around was a whole other load of crap that Jasmine absolutely hated to even consider.
Yet there she was.
In the utterly perfect position to receive an attack from below.
Fuck.
So deep in her own thoughts to try and process the situation as it unfolded around her Jasmine had been a second too late to register the counter-attack from below after her attack had successfully made short work of Diamond Head. Her eyes widened in surprise as she felt Silver's presence before she heard his voice. Her forearms came up to guard her frame a fraction of a second too slow. She felt the wind under her sails die as his attack connected with her side. A low, growling wince left her as she quickly realized that his attack managed to break through two of her ribs before sending her flying upwards.
"Son of a..." the lass coughed out under her breath as she clutched at her side mid air, an incredibly painful sting making her whole frame stiffen solid. The fact that Silver wasn't completely KO'd was obvious in her mind even before he made his move but she sure as shit didn't think he'd be back up so damn quickly regardless of whatever booster drug he had taken. He had also managed to somehow coordinate with that tiny fucker from before who she thought would have at least been dazed from her attack.
Whatever Diamond Head did to save Shadow's scrawny ass clearly worked. Jasmine grit her teeth as immense pain shot all throughout her body, though it definitely wasn't as bad as it was during that whole zombie incident where she had eight of her ribs broken, three of which had actually pierced her lung. Two ribs she could still handle fairly easily. This wouldn't slow her down too much, if at all just yet.
Time had seemingly slowed its unforgiving motion as Jasmine drifted up above, about four stories in the air. She took the opportunity presented to her and observed the scene with a bird's eye view. Mia, in her enraged state, was locked in a brutal melee against Muramasa. Silver was below her and Shadow was nowhere to be found, likely in the sewers themselves. That only left...
With each blow the titans traded it seemed like the area itself was being swallowed up and launched outwards. Pavement cracked, glass shattered, metal bent. The concrete below kept being razed, little by little... all up until it felt like the street itself would crack under the pressure.
Jasmine's eyes widened in horror.
Her teeth grinding, the black-gold haired student used every ounce of agility at her disposal to angle herself in mid air. Roaring defiantly, she launched herself sideways, directly into the sidewalk below...
Where a large hunk of street was accidentally flung towards a pair of civilians being evacuated out of the adjacent building by the police.
A terrified shriek filled the street as the rock shattered into a dozen pieces. Jasmine had managed to act in time, getting her entire frame in between the approaching piece of street and the civilians. The civilians watched Caldera with both fear and concern in their eyes. She was facing them, her back having taken the brunt of the accidental attack. She breathed heavily, feeling her whole torso creak and protest in pain.
Head rising, she regarded them with a slightly weakened azure gaze.
"Please, get out of here. It's too dangerous," she breathed out, a silent plea ringing out together with the words she softly uttered.
The next few moments seemed like a blur as Jasmine wordlessly let her hands fall to her sides and turned around. She was hurt. She was tired. She had to sacrifice herself for others. She was facing stupidly unfair odds. Why?
Because it was her fucking duty as a hero.
She had no room to complain.
"Alright, you assholes," Jasmine snarled as her glare was now fully directed back at Silver, energies beginning to crackle around her limbs, her quirk doing its damndest to give her more ammunition to use for the doubtlessly arduous fight ahead. "You wanna fight? Let's fucking fight."

“Aw, look at her. Trying to play hero-hehehehehhHEHE!~” The bulging veins on Silver’s face continued to grow and bulge across his features. The injection point had been spreading further, one of Muramasa’s champions who was more than willing to give into the influence of his drug, and the more Jasmine let him feel the joy of a good fight, the rage, the anger he had in wanting to take her down and get revenge for that shot before? The stronger the effects became, amplifying his own anger and his strength with it. As Jasmine shot back down towards the ground, sacrificing her own body for that of a civilian, Silver finally took a moment to re-adjust his nose, snorting out a red loogie that hit the pavement with a sickening fraction of a squelch.
“She’s so gonna die…!~” He reared his hand back, a vacuum swirling in his palm as it sucked in the air around it, before a dark hand grasped his wrist, the much smaller shadow quirker showing a sense of fear in his eyes.
“J-job’s done! We can go now! N-no need to keep going right? B-boss’d probably want her big and strong so there’s news of her fighting red horn ag-AH!”
Shoved harshly away by a swing of the silver ones arm, his wild eyes only showed more distance from the current moment, staring through the world rather than observing it. “Oh piss off what the boss wants! You really think he’d gonna complain if I follow my ‘rageful desire’ to beat her ass to death!?”
The shadowy one didn’t seem able to argue with that as he landed on his ass. He wasn’t one of the rageful lot that was for sure, adopted by the crew for his utility in their plans and their battle styles more than anything else, he didn’t adopt the rage philosophy the others did, not by a long shot. “y-yeah… fair point.”
Rising up to his feet he dusted himself off and shakily raised his fists as if he was going to be participating in the fight, silver’s wild gaze turning back to the more readied Jasmine, his arms tense at his side like he couldn’t stop his muscles from constantly holding a state of flex.
“Beautiful words there two tone!~” Reaching back he grabbed the back of his shadowy accomplice, dragging him behind and slamming him into the ground with an overhead motion, the dark puddle it created quickly opening and closing as he dove back into the sewers below and dragged his accomplice behind him. It didn’t make his distant time instantaneous by any means, rushing out through the sloshy sewers silently thanks to the tarmac and metal now between them. Another puddle came up behind Jasmine in a moment, Sliver rising up from it and attacking more directly with his own muscle, a swinging kick coming from the leap trying to get Jasmine across the head. Any deflection or dodge just letting him fall back into the hole and close it behind him. He’d continue this repeatedly, creating a manic game of human wack a mole as he continued to pop up from random spots in the ground, a brief flash of yellow eyes the only pre-warning Jasmine tended to get before the hole opened and he came out, with a kick, a punch, or an attempted vacuum assisted strike. He was basically using his shadowy friend as a tool at this point, the speed and ferocity all his own… and the drug, of course.
The clash of titanic fists was becoming tiresome for Mia, there was the satisfaction to her animal mind of her knuckles clashing against SOMETHING, but every blow felt… less than it should be. Maybe it was the way Muramasa was able to meet them, maybe it was the fact she didn’t get to see a pained look on his face. Mia may have always craved an equal, someone who could meet her in battle… but even in her rage state, what little consciousness she had left could tell her this wasn’t that. They may have been a match for eachother in terms of brute strength, but the stronger Mia got now the less skill she had, and that was where Muramasa took the lead. She could feel it, a slither of difference spreading into a chasm between them. Each blow she got in felt slower, and each blow he got in felt even faster by comparison. She was managing to tank it all, her rough, leathery red skin like a brick wall between her and the blows… but it was starting to crumble.
“You’re a slave to your rage Kearney!” Muramasa chimed out between his blows, his voice almost to the point it could be heard to the audience even over their shared blows, but certainly enough for Mia herself at the very least. “Surrender to it! Accept it! Only then will you come close! Show me I’m not wasting my time on you!”
“GRAAAAAAAAAAGH!!”
She wanted to tell him to shove it, to can his shitass philosophy and just take a punch to the face like he deserved but it wasn’t happening. As Angry as Mia was getting in her head, the beast that had rose to the surface had enough dense rage to dig through none of her own thoughts were reaching the surface. Her eyes were dead focused on Muramasa, until a new sound hit her ear. Jasmine’s explosions had been followed by rubble impacting flesh… had she hit one of the other-
No. Jasmine. Jasmine through herself in the path of the carnage Mia had been creating… if she hadn’t been here Mia could have ki-
“TOO SLOW!”
“Rugh-!?”
A meaty hand encompassed her face, her horn pinched between it’s middle fingers. Her muscles tensed at the touch to such raw nerves and she was slammed backwards into the ground with ease. Her beastly form kicked and squirmed, grasping at the hand smothering her face and trying to force Muramasa off, the brief worry she had for Jasmine, for the Civilians, replaced once again by a one track mind. Destroying this guy.
“Sorry Kearney… but you’re just not there yet… rage is a single thought. A single desire. To burn your foes, to achieve what they said you couldn’t out of sheer spite… to burn a society that puts you down… To be distracted so easily…” He sighed, genuinely disappointed. “I’d hoped you might be one of my kin… it seems not…”
Rearing back Muramasa kept a tight grasp on Mia’s skull, flinging her up into the air above. Mia could almost feel it before it came, as she hung there in the air… she’d done this to opponents in the past. A hand grasped her ankle as Muramasa lept to catch up with her, and like a meteor she was soon tossed back to the earth, her body sinking deep into the tarmac, a cooling drizzle as the blood from her own face caught up, drizzling over her sizzling flesh.
A hefty thud. Muramasa landed a few feet away. The beast tried to rise from it’s crater… but he was approaching. His pace a casual stride, but far too fast for the beast to likely rise to her feet again.
“Grrrnngh…!”
“Rest Kearney… today wasn’t the day.”

Kimi's breath hitched in her throat, fingers gripping onto that police barricade like it was her only anchor to the real world. There was no mistaking it. That was Red Horn, in the same state she had been in only a few months ago. The state that had wrecked her father's shop, the state that had made so many people question whether she was fit to be a hero. The state that had damaged the hopes and dreams of all who had relied on her. Red skin, angry expression, erratic movements, it was all there. The fight off to her left was apparently going all sorts of haywire too. Explosions all over the place, shouting, screaming from the crowd as a lot of them began to disperse. It was hard to get a clear view of it from here, so packed in was she against the barricade. It sounded like a war. She hissed under her breath, her expression going from one of anger to panic and despair. The Heroes were losing. People were cheering or booing for Red Horn all around her but Kimi was well aware of what that red skin meant. Regardless as to whether it was her own fault or not, she was losing control. That first solid punch made Kimi's heart leap. That one little second of hope as the villain who she didn't really know the name of flew through the air. She held onto that hope, grasped it until her chest hurt. Yet it began to slip away as she saw just how bestial the former number one had become. Like a raging ape, she seemed only concerned with beating this man into the ground. Nothing else mattered. In a way Kimi could respect that... but considering the context, it was hard to be excited. It was hard to keep hold of that hope that time and again seemed to slip through her fingers. Once again the police surged the crowd back, trying to evacuate them from the scene. As a collective the crowd seemed to push back and Kimi with them, hissing as the barricades were moved further and further back from the action. As the red-skinned oni woman began a flurry of blows against the big meathead, it became quickly apparent that her blows were doing nothing. Less than nothing, in fact, even if the initial display had made the crowd erupt with jeers and praise in balance. For her part Kimi could only hold onto the barricade, gritting her teeth as the scene played out in front of her. Having witnessed so many fights thanks to her dorky friend Casper... it was clear Red Horn was starting to slow. Then, a moment of distraction. A small glance over at her comrade, perhaps? A pause in her rage? It was hard to tell from this distance. But that was enough for this large brute of a man to take advantage, slamming the hero hard into the ground by her ankle. Just then, Kimi felt a hand on her shoulder. She didn't look around to see who it was. Instinctively she could feel something tight in her chest, like she was going to cry. Time seemed to slow as she grit her teeth in pain. Not physical, but emotional. She knew the hand on her shoulder. She knew what it meant. She'd felt it before. Do you have the courage... to do what must be done? The voice was one she knew so well but one she hadn't heard in so long. Her brother. His hand gripped harder to her shoulder, as if pressing her for an answer. She choked up again. I don't know...What would I do?The police barricade beneath her fingers felt like an iron curtain keeping her rooted to the spot. What would he do? What would her brother do? The brother that she'd so admired. The man who had been inspired by heroes, who had risked his life to protect and help others. What would he do? Would he be ashamed of her for hesitating like this? She took a deep breath. You would save her.She didn't turn around but she knew he was smiling. So was she, for a brief moment. Do you have the courage to do what must be done? Yes.Suddenly she was ducking under the barricade, moving before her thoughts had even caught up to her actions. A shout from her left and right echoed in her mind as if far away, the two policemen diving to try and keep her back but her small, nimble frame danced between them with ease. Every step took her closer to that mountain of a man. With every step he got larger but the inferno in her chest didn't falter, not even for a moment. She skidded to a stop, the policemen having abandoned going after her for fear of being caught in the scene themselves. "THAT'S ENOUGH!" Her chest heaved furiously, even as her body shook. It had taken every ounce of her will to shout that loud, to show him her conviction. She had to make it loud enough so her brother would hear it in heaven. Kimi's eyes locked with his, even as the crowd seemed to fall silent. Or maybe she just couldn't hear them anymore. They didn't matter. Her words turned to Mia, trying to clench her fists to stop herself from shaking. "Get up! I'm not letting a single person beat you until I do! You have no right to lose!" She snarled at the large man, even if her courage was on shaky foundations, quite literally. "You want to beat her!? Get the fuck in line! You're gonna have to beat ME first!" Her heart was thrumming like an engine it was beating so fast, her breathing quickening almost to panting from the stress and the fear but all the while she held fast, staring up into the man's eyes. She could feel her brother smiling again.

Jasmine swore under her breath, shoulders heaving up and down. Her body still felt a little rigid courtesy of the piece of stone she'd taken in her desperate attempt to protect the civilians still lingering in the area but thankfully it wasn't something that impaired her in any way beyond an aching back. The warmth she felt welling up inside her gradually turned to heat, confirming to her the fact that her quirk was still able to function at sixth gear. She still wasn't exactly sure how much energy she'd need to activate Phase Rush... or if she was even capable of activating it a second time given how experimental the ability was. She grimaced at the thought.
As explosive strength stirred within her so did her eyes shift back to their usual combat-ready crimsons. She rolled her shoulders and bent her neck to either side, her body relaxing back into the groove of a fight as she felt a few loose joints pop back into place. A soft breath left her lips, steam trailing quickly behind as a response to the temperatures quickly climbing around her.
"Fuck you," Jasmine snarled back as she glared daggers at silver, her quirk adding to her apparent aggression by momentarily flaring around her. Energies circled her body and swirled wildly around her, yet it was different this time around. Unlike when Jasmine managed to achieve Phase Rush and had her power completely bent to her will it now looked like it was going completely rampant. Uncontrolled, unrestrained, wild. A pure destructive force that felt like it was causing discomfort to the wielder herself.
The second Silver disappeared into the depths below Jasmine's eyes widened in alarm. Her instincts flared, prompting her to dash forward to avoid a blow from behind. With the help of Shadow and Silver's own speed Jasmine felt like she was rendered powerless to attack. She couldn't flesh out a proper counter due to how quick on his feet the guy was and if she tried to blow him and the whole damn street to smithereens he'd just use his quick to absorb it and send it right back to her.
Frustration was quickly mounting up with this dance that the student found herself in, barely able to keep avoiding strike after strike. She groaned in pain when a fist managed to collide with her cheek and knocked a tooth loose. Staggering, Jasmine winced when an upwards kick to her chest lifted her off of her feet. The followup, while quick, was blocked by Jasmine's arms. Both of her forearms came to cover her face as another kick, this time downward, came upon her like a sledgehammer, sending her flying backwards into the ground.
"Damn it!" she smashed her fist against the street in frustration after having come to a halt, irritation starting to seep into her very being. In her mind she had started berating herself for the focus she had dedicated to Diamond Head and her lack of foresight to determine that Shadow was indeed the most dangerous with this group. Coupled with the anger that kept welling up inside her the injuries that were slowly starting to pile up as well had completely eliminated any modicum of focus she had previously been able to maintain. Forget Phase Rush, she couldn't even come up with a decent counter to the situation she'd found herself in.
Shit, there's gotta be something! If I-
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
For the briefest of moments it felt like the time had come to a complete standstill. With wide eyes Jasmine turned to regard the younger girl that had managed to sneak her way out of the police barricade. Sharp crimsons regarded her, the rest of the world blurring into nothingness around the rebellious student.
As she listened to the girl speak she felt a range of emotions crawling all throughout her body, all of them centering around her heart. Confusion. Surprise. Paranoia. Fear. Dread... Hope. Awe. Her head lowered, black and gold tresses casting a shadow over her eyes as she gave herself a short and rather spiteful laugh.
What the hell are you doing?
Stand up, officer.
Come on, Firecracker! You got this!
Just like the dance at Chrysler, Goldilocks.
Everything around Jasmine seemed quiet. Motionless. Even her quirk calmed. As she now stood at her full height on the shattered street, her body seemingly relaxed, she stared out at the sky with her head raised. Memories she'd forgotten pooled. Reminders she thought she didn't need were given.
All because of some dumbass kid who didn't know the meaning of safety if it bit her in the ass.
Jasmine couldn't help the amused snort that left her.
Jasmine-chan.
I know.
Silver's approach was quick as lightning, but much to his horror Jasmine reacted. His outstretched fist was caught by a palm that felt so hot it could burn through steel. The male winced at the sensation, face quickly contorting when Jasmine raised her eyes to glare at him.
Instead of Jasmine's usual ferocious crimsons, what stared back at him were her cool, brilliant azures... brimming with a strength the opposite color could never hope to match.
The villain's eyes bulged out of their sockets as his body was jerked forwards, gasping for air as he felt something sharp impact his throat. Before he even had time to react another stinging sensation collided with his side, immediately shattering rib. The second his hand was released Silver attempted to backtrack yet instead was kept in place when Jasmine's heel collided with his own foot, shattering it upon contact.
Silver couldn't even yell out in pain as Jasmine came down upon him, a hail of strikes so fast they seemed like a blur colliding with his frame one by one. His sides. His chest. His shoulders. Neck. Arms. Head. Yet these attacks were different. They weren't packing the usual force of a moving train that Jasmine was known for. No, these attacks were sharp. Precise. Like a blade issuing a thousand cuts meant to leave nothing standing.
Jasmine's own focus had gone through the roof as she kept attacking. The only thing in her sights was Silver. Nothing more. Nothing less. Her sense of direction, sight, hearing, smell, touch... all of her senses were laser focused on the male and as sharp as a finely tuned blade. Her quirk had responded, bending to Jasmine's will as it was forced to pool inside of her, the force so strong it could barely be contained and ended up accidentally cutting through the hairband keeping Jasmine's hair tied into a ponytail, releasing the long and wild black and gold tresses free.
She hadn't spoken a single word nor made a single sound as around thirty deadly attacks had hit Silver's defenseless frame, rendered immobile by Jasmine's sheer strength. It hadn't looked like much. It wasn't flashy. It wasn't explosive. But it was deadly.
In one singular moment Jasmine had grabbed Silver's likely already unconscious face and slammed the back of his head into the street below, cracking the pavement on impact.
"Two down."
