“Come ooooon hero! This all you got!”
Silver’s taunting continued as he let loose his own personal barrage of whack a mole on the two toned hair-oine. A chuckle behind his words, a manic one at that, his attacks wild and unfocused. They were all aimed in the general direction of a typical ‘vital’. Her chest and stomache to wind her, her head to disorientate her, her legs to try and reduce her mobility, but they weren’t anything more then general targets. All he cared about by now was breaking her and he didn’t much care how. There were the quietest mutterings from the yellow eyes that appeared before and after his strikes, but over the chaos of the scene their attempts to dissuade their companion practically fell on deaf ears.
“Look at that! Getting distracted by some stupid-NGH!”
Where Silver thought he may have been provided an opening, a singing heat suddenly encased his palm, and while he’d been having a fun time leaping back and forth out of the sewers, finally his feet needed to find solid ground. The veins on his face bulged, pushing outward from his skin as he dug in his heels and tried to draw his fist away from her, a brief, stunned look on his face replaced by the typical fury as he tried to come in for a blow with his other hand, but the wind up was too slow. Before he knew it his windpipe was almost crushed by a sharp blow, his free hand grasping at it as he tried to breathe. His shadow companion emerged from the ground behind him and hesitated in trying to intervene in some way… but Jasmine’s barrage…
Suffice to say, he didn’t want to get in the middle of that.
With each subsequent blow keeping Silver on the backfoot, even as he tried to prioritize his guard over resolving his breathing, he felt faint, the lack of oxygen suffocating the drug in his system, the bulging veins receeding from his features. His rage, his power, his consciousness, all fading in equal measure, unable to successfully deflect or block more than a tenth of the barrage, the rest landing sharp, harsh, and before he knew it, his guard was broken. There was a slither of awareness remaining in his eyes, lingering on the bring…
A sharp impact with the street soon resolved that. Shadow had long since disappeared, and as Jasmine said. Two down.
Knowing he wouldn’t be forgiven if he were to simply run, Shadow took Jasmine’s moment of satisfaction and tried to use it. Those bright yellow eyes reformed in the ground either side of the unconscious form of his comrade, and for a change of pace, the shadowy void stretched out arms, grasping Jasmine’s hair and trying to drag her down through the portal that opened between the street and the sewer, plunging her into the darkness below. It wasn’t much, but he really was more scared of Muramasa than Jasmine… okay, maybe it was about equal now, but this should solve both his problems. The moment Jasmine and Silver were dropped into the dimly lit sewers, the portal closed and Shadow remained on the street above, glancing to Muramasa… pre-occupied… he’d done his part.
All he could do now was run.
“Nnnmrrgh…?” Mia shoved herself up on an elbow, trying to prop herself up, get back in the fight somehow… but even the beast felt weak. He body slumped to one side as she tried to drag herself out of the rubble. Was her shoulder dislocated? Shattered. Hard to tell. The mix of her unique hormones, the rage, the pain… it was hard to tell what sensation was trying to convey what at this point. Her blurring vision came into focus as a figure seemed to separate her and Muramasa. The red coating of her skin was slowly being replaced by small patches of peach skin tones, and deep, blue and red bruises among them revealed beneath.
“…” Muramasa himself, clear of mind, stared down at the girl between him and his prey. He almost found it oddly admirable. Some odd form of rage towards the blonde heroine fueling her to stand between them. A thought occurred to ask, to enquire… but he was tired of this back and forth today. Mia had disappointed him again, and he wasn’t too eager to play games with children. “With Pleasure.” He replied. Simply. Sharply.
Without hesitation he raised his form back, knee bent in close to his chest, twisting side on to the girl. Surprising flexibility and speed for a man so large and dense with muscle. Without a hint of mercy in his gaze he shot his leg out with a harsh jutting kick, scare in the girl’s chest, sending her hurting across the street close to where Mia herself was pulling herself from the ground. The golden haired heroine had managed to briefly rise to her feet. A flair of rage, a roar in her throat… but she collapsed forward.
The beast was happy to tear down any brick wall in her way but… to even look at Muramasa was exhausting. The beasts instincts were developing in response to him. He wasn’t just a brick wall. He punched back, he dodged, he deflected, no matter what she did he wasn’t breaking down and the beast was starting to learn that… Something inside her. Something beyond the beast she was now was yelling in absolute fury. Something far louder than the beast ever was to Mia. Her own voice, staring down the whimpering puppy she’d become.
‘GET UP! GET THE FUCK UP!!!
YOU SEE THAT KID!? YOU SEE WHAT HE DID!? STAND THE FUCK UP YOU WHIMPERING LITTLE MULE!!!!
WHAT!? HE HURT YOU BAD AND THIS IS WHEN YOU STOP BEING A FUCKING MONSTER!?
GET THE FUCK UP!!!!!’
Mia, trapped inside her red body, was always scared, watching herself like an outer body experience.. not wanting to hurt the people around her. Not wanting to fall from grace… her pride and her self respect torn apart in equal measure by her own quirk but… Now? Now she was the one who was angry. And it was nothing to do with her fucking quirk. Her outer form fell forward, trying to reach the kid and failing… and the real Mia inside kept yelling from the inside. Get up. Get. The. Fuck. Up.
Nothing.. she couldn’t break through the dense wall between her mind and her body.

Here it comes. Brace for it. Brace! She gasped suddenly, a hard, sharp impact to her sternum. It didn't hurt. Not yet. She knew it would but not yet. Those agonizing few moments flying through the air felt like millennia in stasis, as if being judged by God in purgatory. Her arm wouldn't move but she didn't know if that was from the force of the air or because it was broken. Maybe neither. Maybe both. Why was it so hard to breathe? Something caught on her shoulder, a similarly hard impact as it sent her spinning into an increasingly dark place. Then, with one final ' thud', that darkness swallowed her whole. Everything felt so numb, like she was... floating. Even though she couldn't move. A brief flash of white, which then faded into a familiar setting. The old family home. It was so good to be back here, she'd missed it, the place she grew up. She could see him smiling down at her. No way was he this tall, right? Maybe she was shorter. Taking a look down at herself she realized she had smaller limbs. Now that she thought about it this whole scenario felt like deja vu... I'm proud of you.She could only blink. What did he mean? She'd be going to middle school soon, was that what he meant? Why was brother being so weird. He'd been so quiet lately, locked up in his room. Mom was scared it was drugs, or worse, gangs. She'd tried to hide it from her but Kimi was a sharp listener. She was eight years old now, she was a big girl! Those were bad things but bro wouldn't do anything bad! Never! Looking closer at his face it almost looked like he was crying. Forcing a smile but tears were welling up. He reached down to pat her on the head, which made her pout. He needed to stop treating her like a child! Geez! When I'm gone... carry my torch.Huh? Why was he saying such weird stuff? Kimi wasn't sure how to react. What did he mean? Carry his torch? Like when they went camping? With that he turned and moved towards the front door. Everything within Kimi's small frame begged her to shout out to him, to run over to him and hold him. She knew how this memory played out, she knew how this ended. A white like shone through the door hole. Tell him! Tell him now! PLEASE! I will! I'll carry your torch! I'll be a hero you can believe in! That EVERYONE can believe in!He turned again, giving a proud smile, tears running down his cheeks. It all came into sharp focus at once. Her eyes shot open but were bleary. For a moment she saw him, standing over her, that smile on his face. He reached out to her, to help her up. Everything she did to move, to try and take his hand, was agony, like blazing hot knives piercing her shoulder and the back of her head. Hissing in pain, she finally raised her arm, reaching her hand out to him, only to see him fade into dust. No, to ash. Ashes held embers. From an ember, a spark can be born. From a spark, a fire. From a fire, an explosion. She slammed her fist down onto the ground, the crunch of broken glass making her wince as that pain became more focused. Something was embedded into her right shoulder, quite deep. The scatterings of cuts along her arm told her it was probably a piece of broken glass, which is also what was probably causing the continuous cuts to her legs as she shifted and moved. Every breath was like swallowing needles, a wheezing sound coming from her lips as she tried to drag air into her lungs even as her body screamed in protest. Her other hand pressed into the scattered glass around her, causing her to groan, even as she tried so hard to ignore that blinding pain in... well, every part of her body. There wasn't a place on her that didn't feel hurt. Where even was she? There was a wetness on the back of her head and her ears were ringing. As she turned her head, the world spun, causing bile to come up to her throat, but with considerable effort she swallowed it back down, coughing gently. The wreckage of the building she had been originally thrown into. Well at least she hadn't gone through the entire window. Small victories, huh? Trying to force herself to her knees using her arms was going terribly. Tears fell from her eyes as she dragged herself higher, only to slide down again due to her ruined right arm. But if she didn't stand now... if she didn't overcome this... that torch wouldn't re-ignite, right? She'd forever lose her brother to that white light. No one would believe in her. There'd be thousands more like him. She could not allow that. With considerable effort she pressed her forehead into the ground, groaning and hissing as she raised herself to her knees, then onto one foot, then the other. She was doubled over in agony for a good few moments, panting as she tried to fill her lungs, even as she felt those raw nerves, even as she felt the bones in her chest creak and just barely hold together. Then, with one swift movement, she forced her spine to straighten, her legs wobbling and that bile coming to her throat again but she suppressed it. "HEY!"Where the hell was she even getting this strength? She wasn't sure how she could even stand right now. She stumbled for a moment but... somehow felt a force on her chest, like a hand, supporting her. He was here. He was proud of her. She could do this."WE'RE NOT DONE!"Wincing in pain as she drew her left arm back, a sharp hissing sound as air compressed itself just above the surface of her fist. Suddenly her body went numb, but somehow seemed to retain it's ability to move, like her body had been flooded with a truckload of adrenaline all at once. She didn't even feel injured anymore, in that brief moment. Surging forward, her useless arm dangling behind her, she yelled in fury as she pushed herself into a running jump. She drove her fist towards the large beast's face, a loud CRACK like a gunshot resounding out if it successfully hit, the compressed air all exploding at once in a pressure wave. A wave strong enough that the windows on the building behind them seemed to crack from the strain. Yet that seemed to eat up all of her energy and all of her adrenaline. All of a sudden her body just... stopped working. Hit or miss, she dropped to the ground like a sack, gasping and clawing at the pavement, crying out as both hands and arms seemed injured now. The explosion from her Quirk had broken several bones in her left arm now too, meaning all she could do was look up at this giant man, defiance in her eyes... ...and accept her fate. Sorry bro... I'm on my way...

Careening her head the moment Silver went down, Jasmine's sharp electric azures darted from place to place wildly, trying to scan her immediate periphery as quickly as possible. Two of Muramasa's goons were out for the count and while she knew that the third of the group wasn't exactly a danger to her he possessed an incredibly obnoxious quirk that may very well spell trouble for herself and Mia in the fight looming ahead. The plan was to catch wind of him and use her newfound abilities to make quick work of him before he found any opportunity to give Muramasa an edge against Mia.
Jasmine sucked in a quick breath of air when she suddenly begun feeling weightless. The ground beneath her shifted, twisting itself into the shape of a violet void that pulled her in. Her eyes narrowed dangerously as she managed to steal a quick glance at the retreating Shadow as her own form was absorbed by his quirk. A throaty curse left her, a momentary flare of irritation shooting through her facial features like a jolt of electricity.
Within moments she found herself falling into the sewers, her senses immediately working on overdrive to acclimate her eyesight to the darkness which now enveloped her. With a few swift twists and turns mid air she was able to halt her descent, feet planting themselves firmly on the stone walkways on the side of the flowing sewage water. A hand quickly reached out, grabbing the unconscious Silver by his collar before he fell in and drowned.
Jasmine looked up just in time to notice the void above dissipate. She sighed tiredly, attempting to asses the situation as she laid Silver down onto the ground and searched her satchel for the fiber-like hardened titanium wire she'd managed to get her hands on from Chief Kokai. Jasmine had started making it a habit to carry subduing gear within the inventory of her Hero gear courtesy of the spec ops training she'd undergone. Even though she'd been a little skeptical at first, the Chief was quick to advise her to be prepared for anything. Case in point... an unconscious villain she had to leave without supervision while she went out to help deal with another. It wasn't like these wires were easy to break either -- Jasmine herself would likely have some issues tearing it apart, so even Silver's quirk would find it tough to get out of.
Sharp azures crackled with inner energies as Jasmine rolled him over onto his chest and behind to tie his hands behind his back, at the same time taking a minute to check his pulse. He had quite a few injuries on his person but was still able to breathe regularly. She'd really hate it if someone died on her watch, villain or not.
After she finally made sure Silver was firmly restrained, Jasmine took a few brief moments to inspect the changes that were occurring within and without her body. It was difficult to describe the feeling. It felt like her body was in the middle of a chaotic storm of violent energies which would have likely otherwise torn her apart but instead it... it felt calming. Serene, even. The storm, while wild, was subdued. Bent to her unwavering will. Instead of harming her it aided her. Strengthened her. One look at the palms of her hands betrayed the intentions of the storm - dangerous sparks crackled all around her fingers dangerously, threatening to burst forth in a stunning display of raw destruction at the most minuscule loss of focus, and yet...
...Jasmine had never felt more aware.
It was a strange sensation to wrap her head around her. She had managed to hit her 'zone' dozens of times. Jasmine would call her instincts and they would answer with a sharp roar, enhancing her senses to the point they turned supernatural. Nothing mattered but the fight at hand. Everything but what was in front of her was a void of irrelevancy and yet at the same time she was able to notice every single subtle shift in the environment around her.
Yet this time was different, much more intense than anything she had ever experienced before. The world around her was effectively moving in slow motion, enabling her already heightened reaction speed to shoot far past any of her perceived limits. If her senses had been on overdrive when she reached her zone before, now she could've sworn she surpassed even that, reaching a realm she didn't think was possible.
It felt... exhilarating.
So much so that Jasmine felt a trickle in her chest. While the expression on her face betrayed the dead of no visible emotions, her glowing azures shone in the darkness with sheer excitement... and rage.
Muramasa. He was still out there and last Jasmine checked, Mia was in trouble.
Despite being quite a few feet underground the black-gold haired lass was able to pick up the subtle shift in the stones above her head each time the behemoth of a man took a singular step. Even in the darkness enveloping her and Silver Jasmine was able to visibly make out the shifting of dust between the hard bricks above her head each time the vibrations of Muramasa's feet disturbed the pavement above. Her eyes narrowed as she suddenly begun to move, tracking his trajectory from below.
Jasmine's movements were... hauntingly precise. As silent as a ghost yet as quick as a wild leopard, she dashed along the sewers, hopping from place to place effortlessly, her eyes still firmly trailing the path she visualized Muramasa taking. Before long she found a small clearing at the point of which the villain stopped in his tracks. Her eyes narrowed when something of a boom shook the ceiling above, quickly making her realize he had made contact with something... hard.
She acted almost as though on instincts, not a single movement clouded by doubt. Her legs bent ever so slightly, center of gravity lowering so she could accommodate the strength in her calves and thighs about to launch her airborne. Energies sparked around a fist which she quickly cocked back before leaping upwards, heaving out a ferocious roar as she slammed her knuckles into the stone and pavement directly below Muramasa with enough force to break it nearly effortlessly. Her form would appear from below, directly between the two titans, before she slammed that very same fist into Muramasa's chin. The second her punch would connect and hopefully lift his feet off of the ground, she'd spin in mid air and release a devastating kick into his chest with enough strength packed into it to pierce an actual tank.

GET UP! GET UP YOU USELESS SACK OF SHIT!!!
Mia felt a throbbing in her head as the pumping adrenaline like substance oozed into her system but seemed conflicted about what effect it should be having in her. Every conscious aspect of the woman was screaming for her to get up and fight. To put this rage state to some god damn use and help that kid before Muramasa decided he wasn’t gonna be satisfied with just a solid kick to the gut. She could see him, his eyes briefly flickering to her as as if to finish the business he started, before looking over her, past her to that kid. She was the more interesting prey right now. Not this whimpering animal that had been reduced to such a pathetic state…!
Was this it!? Was this all she had in her!? She thought this monster mind of hers was meant to fight no matter what. Friend or foe it was meant to beat down and destroy everything in it’s path… but the second something punched her back harder she gave up!? What the absolute fuck was that!? WHAT THE FUCK!? The pounding sounded off harder in her head, her internal rage trying to be compensated by the unique chemical pushed into her from her bright gold horn, the raw, exposed bundle of nerves seeming to pulse sporadically as it tried to give Mia what she was crying out for. The power to fight!
The more it gave her though… the louder the mindless animal in her was allowed to be… the louder it was allowed to whimper. To surrender…
She was on the verge of resigning herself to this. Infront of so many eyes. Not only would this act as further evidence that Muramasa had nothing to do with her initial outburst, but they got to see her like… this. Giving up, and barely any choice of her own… but now she had to. In body, in mind. Afterall what the fuck was she meant to do if her body wouldn’t obey her? If it wouldn’t get up and fight…
That last pinhole of light that gave her a blurry view of the world through the eyes of the beast started to darken… close up. She resigned herself to defeat. To humiliation. To losing pretty much everything…
Maybe she wouldn’t have to wake up from this miserable pit. Heh… might almost be a mer-
“HEY”
Just as her view of the world was a slither from closing out, a bright cry called out and brought the world back into view. Clearer than it ever had been with the beast in control. She saw those young, small knuckles clash with the cheek of Muramasa, seemingly making no effort to block or dodge the attack… his stance was strong, but Mia could tell from his eyes, he could hide it all he wanted… but that stung.
Here she was… some kid… showing her up… the pulsing in her head stopped… a smile slowly formed on her maw… Come on Mia… you’re not gonna let some fucking kid… steal the show…!!!
“…I almost want to say I’m impressed… almost.”
Muramasa slowly turned his head back to the girl at his feet. She seemed angry, she seemed filled with rage at someone like him… but to Muramasa it was wrong. It wasn’t ‘right’. She wasn’t submitting to her rage, she was trying to use it, channel it. She was doing well in that regard. He wouldn’t let it show but that blow would have left one hell of a mark if the dark tones of his skin didn’t help to hide it. His eyes narrowed down towards her. A teaching opportunity had presented itself.
Afterall, like the mighty Redhorn, if he had a crowd, he should use it. His voice grew louder, speaking over her more than to the girl themselves, who he surmised was likely on the verge of passing out.
“Rage should not be guided by such pathetic morality! It should be succumbed to, absorbed, internalized… and you must flow with it like a river, letting it guide your actions as much as your body allows it to physically express itself into the world around you. For instance your petty morality has forced you to channel that rage into assaulting a larger foe to protect an already defeated heroine… unbound from Morality, my rage will allow me to destroy you for this mistake.”
Muramasa took a slow breath. Despite being a man who was supposedly fuelled by rage, he seemed to have some truly calm moments. Some might be convinced that he was some wise, zen force who was harmonized through his view on his rage. Other’s might think he was just a psychopath. All the same, he pulled his arm back, holding himself side on to the young girl. So small by comparison, he made sure he wouldn’t miss, all his force clearly prepared for this attack.
“Observe.”
With time to prepare it had been the greatest blow yet. Power focused and distilled into a single strike, erupting through the street around them. A few more blocks would be left without windows, and even with the crowd pushed back as much as the officers at hand could manage, people were sent flying and tumbling into one another. No serious injuries amonst them as so many behind them could catch and break their falls, but it spoke to the power of the blow that even those in the audience, dozens upon dozens, would be knocked off their feet. A series of confused and dazed sounds, some premature cries of panic and fear as to the girl’s fate…
Followed by a collective gasp. And silence thereafter.
“Sorry kid… bit late to the party on this one…!”
Back to her feet, Mia’s arm trembled as she held back the force of that punch. Her bulking behemoth form breathing heavily as she refocused herself. The golden glow in her eyes slowly refined, taking the form of pupils once more but still retaining that bright golden sheen rather than her typical red, in stark contrast to the crimson that now covered her from head to toe. Muramasa, equally stunned by her return to the fray, was still trying to push his fist forward, as if enough scowling at her would be enough for his punch to drill through her palm.
Her nails dug down into the back of his palm, the muscles of her left arm pulsing… growing smaller but no less strong. She wasn’t calming down. She was more angry than ever, but by god did she have a smile now, her muscles constricting, condensing, her form becoming more lean and tight, at least compared to the monstrous hulk she’d been a second prior. Muramasa brought in another punch and Mia easily blocked it in her right palm, digging in both sets of nails now as she met Muramasa’s impotent fury with a cocky smile. This wasn’t easy. She could feel her arms shaking faintly from trying to hold back the power behind his arms, but as her bare feet felt the warmth building in the tarmac, she didn’t think she’d need to hold him for long.
“Ya know you’re great at giving speeches I’ll give you that… but you reminded me just how wrong you are! Giving yourself to rage!? HAH! What a fucking joke! As if that’s hard, throwing a perpetual tantrum till the world joins you! You think you’re some new thinker, some impressive cult leader, but you’re literally throwing a fit cause enough people aren’t doing it with you! What a joke!” Muramasa tried to retrieve his fists but Mia twisted them about, holding them in an upside down grip to keep him in place. The casing on her horn was re-forming rapidly, seemingly too tight for the bulging bundle of nerves… but as the iconic cross shaped scar opened back up to give it some breathing room, a golden flame sparked out from the permanent wound in her horn’s shell, seeming to streak back through her blonde mane and make it burn all the brighter.
Mia wasn’t a monster anymore. She was back to being a hero.
“Focusing that anger… that rage… that desire to burn everything down in your path… and aiming it all at the people who REALLY deserve it!? Trust me! I know better than anyone now how much strength that takes! I’ve been off the deep end and let that be the first lesson I give you today you raging shitlord! The second lesson’s coming right up!”
As if thinking in unison, Mia and Muramasa reared their head’s back, the shockwave of their headbutt not as great as their fists, but impressive enough that a few would rapidly begin to question how the two of them hadn’t cracked eachother’s skulls, especially with Muramasa receiving the blunt side of Mia’s horn in the exchange.
“3 Guys? Never underestimate my girl again-!”
Feeling the rumble in the earth beneath her Mia finally released Muramasa, pulling back and grabbing the kid, easing them carefully away from danger but with haste as part of the package, dropping them off by one of the officers who seemed more steady on their feet. No words were exchanged, each knew she needed to get back to the fight, and with no time to spare. Muramasa took the blow right to the underside of his chin, and was blown back through a nearby car, his muscle packed frame cutting it in two with the force of Jasmine’s kick sending him flying while he was off balance.
The tighter formed, more clear minded Mia rushed up to the side of Jasmine as she landed. Simply offering out a low hand for Jasmine to slap before taking a more battle ready pose at her side.
“Ya know… put on a bit of a show there but I’m running on fumes a bit here…~ Think you can handle carrying my dead-weight here, sis?~”

A small speck of irritation crossed Jasmine's narrowed eyes as her fist felt the impact against Muramasa's chin, the relatively small bone quite a few times harder than the pavement she'd obliterated during her ascent, making her knuckles burn. Acting fast to capitalize on having caught him off guard, she spun in mid air and launched a devastating kick into his chest with great strength. Even then it sent a jolt of pain coursing up her limb and spine. What the hell was this guy made of?
Jasmine landed back on her feet, electric azures immediately zeroing on Muramasa as he went crashing through a parked car, his goliath form easily breaking it in half. She huffed at that. Both the arm and the leg she had used to attack him were shaking a little, still feeling the burn of the hard impact against his skin. That one test run was enough to tell her she'd likely end up doing more damage to herself than Muramasa if she attacked him from the front and tried to match him blow for blow, especially if this ended up being a prolonged fight. Yet she knew she wouldn't need to.
She had a partner.
A sister.
The same sister that had just crashed down on to the pavement next to her the moment she secured the child who had stepped into the fight. The very same sister whose hand she slapped on pure instinct. The same damn sister who made her cheeks warm up with that little three letter title she just gave her.
Jasmine's stern expression softened for the briefest of moments, a small smile making her lips curve upwards. Her eyes had still been on Muramasa as her mind tried coming up with a plan of attack, juggling ten different thought processes at once. "Honestly I'm not doing any better," the two-toned teen admitted, her gaze trailing to one of her hands, the sparks encompassing it slowly seeming to get more wild by the second. "Whatever I've managed to get my quirk to do is draining my stamina here real quick. I probably have only about a few exchanges left in me, and even then I can't come at this guy face to face. His skin's too hard. Almost broke my damn hand with that punch."
Despite her words, not a single shred of confidence had waned neither from her expression nor from the fire in her eyes as she leveled Mia with a stare and a smirk. "You lead, I follow. I'll create an opening for you... and then we end this sucker once and for fuckin' all."

Mia held a cocky smirk of her own as she felt that hand slap quickly into hers. Rolling her shoulders back, she felt light and heavy at the same time. She wasn’t that mindless raging beast anymore, and something told her it wouldn’t be easy for that pathetic dipshit to take over again any time soon. She’d beaten the beast to the curb and pushed through the restraints of her quirk… time would tell if it was permanent, but for now she didn’t even feel the need to consider worrying. At the same time though, as much as she was enjoying the freedom of all this new power under her more conscious, ‘refined’ control… she knew she was on the edge. The moment this new burst of adrenaline faded, she was out for the count.
Better make it worth the effort.
“Well we can compare notes later I guess on our new tricks. Personally-“ She ran her hands back through her golden mane, slicking it back cheekily, enjoying a moment to crack jokes now that she had her, well, sense of self back! “I’m likin’ the new look. I mean red skin is lookin’ damn fine on me now that I ain’t droolin’ don’t ya think?~”
Course they couldn’t all be fun and games and she squared up her shoulders, popping her neck to either side. “We’re both on the clock though. I got that. Every second counts here…” She shot the kid a smile to the side of her, shaking her head with a chuckle at the comment of her taking the lead. “Kid please. I’m sure ya already know what I’m thinkin’.~”
“Hrr…Hrr… HRRGH!”
Wrenching himself up from the tarmac, scrapes and cuts allowing a thick red to mix with the deep brown color of his skin, the now beastly Muramasa rose up from the blow he’d taken, grasping the two halves of the car he’d been driven through and tossing them aside, their wheels letting each half crash into nearby lampposts further down the ends of the street. Muramasa was enraged beyond what he could calm easily. Even attempts to take a deep breath seemed more like bestial pants. Sure, he had more sense than Mia had a moment ago… but it was clear the tides turning had gotten to them.
“A tantrum… you think that’s what this is!? To give to my base desires! To fight for my needs, my wants, my hates as nature intended!? YOU COMPARE THAT TO THE CRIES OF A SPOILED BRAT!?”
Mia glanced to Jaz briefly, and she was pretty damn sure they had the same thought.
“Pretty much.~”
Muramasa grit his teeth, his breathing heavier. He couldn’t see silver, but the scorched remained of his diamond aid and the absence of his shadow told him he was alone in this fight now… fine. He knew the way. He had the power, the might, the strength… he was right in this. He knew he was. He wasn’t about to let some pathetic women clouded by morality be his undoing. Not when he’d been so close to pushing Mia over the edge.
“I have calmed the raging rivers insider of me, allowed them to flow along their curves, to sway back and forth… but if you wish to see the flood… then so be it.” With a pound of his chest, his muscles seemed to tighten, arms tight as they extended to his sides, presenting himself powerfully. Mia meanwhile, coiled in low… “I AM MURAMASA! THE MASTER OF MIGHT AND THE-“
Mia uncoiled, bursting the distance between them in more a display of might than true speed, her fist impacting Muramasa’s face, still about as large as his face and with all her weight and might behind it, a proud smile on her face as she interrupted him.
“I’m Redhorn, kicker of Muramasa ass! Nice to meetcha!!!”
Muramasa managed to hold his ground, digging in his heels and pushed back a fair few meters but remaining standing, his face pushing back against Mia’s fist. Mia found her feet, but she wasn’t about to make this an exchange of blows. Not just because the beastly version of herself had tried that, but because she’d already fucked up this neighbourhood enough with the shockwaves of her attacks. She pulled back, hesitating just enough to bait a strike from Muramasa and ducking off to the sider, coming in with a left hook from down low and clearly throwing him off balance.
“JAZ!”
She should probably start remembering to call the kid by their hero name, but this should do for now. She ducked down low, a hand on the ground, making herself as low as possible as she spread out her stance, leaving a huge, off balance target for Jaz to soar over her head and take to pain-town.

"It also helps that I don't have to worry about you punching me in the face," Jasmine jabbed back playfully, glancing back at Mia through the corner of her eye. She'd seen Mia in her enraged state and she'd be lying if she said seeing her like this again, despite the different circumstances, still instilled a little sense of worry in her. Anybody in their right mind would be worried, especially if they'd been on the receiving end of it like Jasmine had that one time. At the same time, though... Mia seemed confident she could control it. Regardless of the students' doubts, she trusted Mia.
Plus the idea of Red Rage being on their side for once certainly helped with that.
"Not like you're hard to figure out, Horny," she playfully jabbed again, the smile on her face quickly adapting the sense of confidence she was normally known for.
Muramasa quickly made his presence known, tossing the remainders of the vehicle he'd crashed into aside like they were nothing but pebbles on the ground. Jasmine's eyes instinctively narrowed, legs spreading and center of gravity lowering. Her entire body tensed for a few brief moments as Phase Rush was once again allowed to fully empower her, electric sparks of energy flaring all around the black-gold haired lass as she readied herself for the fight.
"Holy shit will you ever shut up, man?!" Jasmine barked back, mirroring Mia, just with a flair of her own. "You're just a dusty old relic with a head shoved too far up your own ass to see anything but your own moronic bullshit! Nobody cares!" With those words having left her mouth, Jasmine launched herself forward, following closely behind Mia, masking her approach behind the larger woman's frame to give herself even more unpredictability.
The moment Mia's fist met Muramasa's skull Jasmine capitalized on the distraction and wound around, curving in her approach like a lightning bolt through the use of her agility alone. Each movement left behind a trail of blue sparks in her wake, forming a trail of energy behind her as she found herself behind the large behemoth of a man. Mia had managed to stagger him once more, creating one hell of an opening for Jasmine to use. Using this chance, she hopped up to his other side and planted a high powered knee directly into his turned face. Fighting through the pain the collision caused, Jasmine huffed as she managed to launch Muramasa off of his feet again.
This time she wouldn't wait for him to get back up. "Mia!" She yelled out, asking for Mia to push her palms against her feet to launch her towards Muramasa's retreating form. She'd grit her teeth as the Titan of a woman would send her flying in pursuit, the speed of her movement making her head whip around wildly.
She quickly reached Muramasa's dazed form and acted on pure instinct, stomping both of her feet into his chest to slam him into the ground pavement with such force it'd crack it on impact. Jasmine used this very same momentum to propel herself high into the air via a release of an explosion at the soles of her feet, avoiding any possible counter from the bulky male.
Her grin returned full force as she glanced at Mia while in mid air.
"All you."

The cheeky quips back from Jaz were definitely helping her sense of normalcy. Maybe she should be worried, this was potentially a tightrope she was walking, no idea if the chemicals pumping through her would turn her back into the beast on a whim, but for now at least… she felt like herself. More than herself maybe, but that was a topic for therapy / another day. Right now she just… she felt right, and that’s all that mattered. Ready to fight, a powerful opponent who didn’t know what he was up against, and her sister by her side.
This was right. That was the end of it.
A chuckle passed her lips as Jasmine called Muramasa out like it was nothing, rolling back her shoulders, and rushed into the fight-
Readily in sync with her partner, Mia sweeped out an arm as Jas called for the boost, rising up from her lowered stance, carrying the force in her arm well with the rising motion of her whole body, launching Jas like a cannonball up into the air after Muramasa. He may not have gotten much height thanks to his hefty build but the decent was still gonna be damn painful. While she was sure he could take it, even Mia managed to hiss through her teeth when she saw her girl slam both feet into his chest, but she didn’t let herself enjoy the moment for too long, closing the distance between herself and the fresh point of impact between Muramasa and the pavement.
As his body bounced off the ground, that harsh half second where he was sent upwards and his organs jiggled about inside his torso, Mia came in to add to the pain, with a harsh over head swing, wound up with her whole body, she slammed back down into his chest, pounding him through the tarmac entirely and sending him into the sewers below. She wasn’t getting Christmas cards from anyone who took this road to work that was for sure.
Squaring up, a foot either side of the hole, she leaned down, spotting the harsh red eyes of Muramasa. “Sup?~”
Before she could fully process what was coming at her, Muramasa’s arms were around her and she felt the air against her back as she hurtled up into the sky, Muramasa using their shared hulk-leap technique to take the fight into the sky, his rage starting to blind him it seemed as she heard him growling in her ear, his muscles bulging around her, tightening his grasp and making him stronger. She couldn’t help but smile.
“Rage getting the better of ya Massy!?” She called out, the single jump putting them high in the air at this point. Without hesitation she broke him off with an elbow across the face. A fist quickly met her nose and she fought through the sensation of something cracking in her skull, smiling all the while. A few more blows were exchanged but even with the force they were generating keeping them relatively close, a few solid punches and they’d no longer be able to reach eachother. Mia didn’t think even her shockwave launches could keep this fight going, and given the damage it had already taken, she doubted anyone would be too eager for her to bring this back to ground level if it wasn’t to finish the fight.
“What’s the matter Massy!? Feel like your losin’ so yer gonna soil the bed!?”
Muramasa let out a defiant roar as he came in for another swing, Mia narrowly shifting aside it but suffering his next hook in turn, the two had reached the apex of their jump and were slowly starting to descend again. “YOU THINK THIS IS A WIN!? You and that brat having to work together!? I’m still better! I’m still right-!”
“Heh, nah Massy… my backup’s just better than yours!~” Purposely trying to bait the angry bastard into another wild swing, coming in with the back of his arm, Mia took it to the chest and wrapped her own around it, grinning wildly as she had him, her golden gaze darting to Jasmine. “GO HIGH!”
Throwing her momentum to a side, Mia felt pounding blows against her skull from Muramasa but refused to release him, his weight helping her spin faster once she got going, and before she started hitting a true descent, she was spinning with him like a beyblade, releasing his arm with perfect timing and sending him a dozen or so storeys higher into the air, the opposing force sending Mia crashing into a tumble, turning like a tumbleweed till she found her feet, digging her fingers into the ground and rushing back under Muramasa, watching Jaz likely ascend to catch him.
“BRING IT ON HOME KID!!! I’M GOING FOR A HOME RUN!” She cockily rested a hand against her shoulder, winding it up, ready to finish this.

Suspended in the air, Jasmine took a few moments to compose herself and simply observe what transpired next. Her prior assessment of Muramasa hadn't been inaccurate - every single part of her body which she employed on the offensive was aching up a storm, lumps in her skin pulsing with painful fire as though she'd slammed a fist against hard titanium. It made painful electric shivers crawl up her spine but in the heat of the fight she managed to suppress a wince. She knew she probably didn't have much steam left in her to aid Mia in this fight. Her body wasn't strong enough just yet, and while the thought angered her she knew she had to accept the facts for what they were, especially if she was to be effective in the last few moments she had in this fight.
Mia's followup had erected a triumphant grin on the student's face even through her continuously waning focus. Whatever force of will managed to aid her was slowly beginning to recede. The more she fell out of her zone the more she felt the explosive forces inside her start to tear her apart from the inside out. She wasn't going to be able to keep this up for much longer.
Luckily it seemed like her sister wasn't intending to let this drag out. By the time Jasmine found herself touching the tarmac below and rolling to a stop, Muramasa had managed to get a hold of the red-skinned titan and blast both of them high up in to the air, so much so that Jasmine had to crane her neck to be able to see properly. She witnessed them exchanging blow after blow, wincing here and there as she saw Mia take on attacks Jasmine knew she didn't couldn't have possibly tanked herself without croaking.
It was in times like these that Mia utterly astonished the third year, taking her breath away. She knew that she was strong but time and time again the Oni kept surprising her. Even when faced with hurdles Mia just... she never stopped. Her stride might get slowed for the briefest of moments but she'd be right back on that horse before anybody even realized she'd slowed in the first place. It was one of the things that Jasmine couldn't help but admire about the older woman... one of the things she herself strove to possess.
"Damn it..." Jasmine cursed under her breath, yet the grin on her face was missed by nobody who bothered to look at her. A fire inside of her chest stirred. Her gaze met Mia's.
It was her turn.
She was sure as shit going to oblige.
Jasmine glued herself to the ground on all fours, energies suddenly sparking around her as her own lithe-by-comparison muscles seemingly bulged. Whatever doubts Jasmine had were squashed the second she realized that Mia was depending on her. She forced back her exhaustion, whether mental or physical. Her focus sharpened and went full throttle, her quirk flaring up in response. One breath. Two. Three...
The guttural roar of a feral beast left the teen's throat as she launched herself into the sky, seeming like an electrified missile. She passed by Mia's side on her ascent, bright azures radiating energy temporarily meeting Mia's slit reds. An unspoken promise.
Her momentum hadn't halted even for a second as she approached the dazed Muramasa, his gargantuan body far too massive for him to be able to have proper control mid-air. This was her territory... and she was about to pay him back for everything he'd done to Mia ten fold as she cocked back her fist.
She didn't have a name for her next series of attacks... but what came next was akin to a dance. Jasmine's fist impaled Muramasa's chest with enough force to send the titan even higher up into the air. The adrenaline coursing in her veins made her unable to feel the sudden sharp sensation of pain that plagued her knuckles. She didn't care. Her focus was on her movement and her target which she quickly followed, circling around him.
Jasmine darted forward again, her airborne mobility damn near perfect in her Phase Rush. She attacked his vitals from his blind angles, avoiding any form of counter he might've attempted through her sheer speed alone. Every blow that came looked like it was going through Muramasa, electric sparks of energy exploding in a vivid display of beautiful chaos each time Jasmine's attack hit its mark. One... two... three... four.... she kept counting, recalling every single blow Muramasa managed to land on Mia... nine... ten... eleven... Her teeth were grinding against one another as she kept pushing herself, kicking and punching with such piercing strength anybody else would've been dead by now.
By the time Jasmine reached twenty five blows, she realized her quirk was about to go haywire. She grinned. Just in time.
Twisting in the air, she launched herself a few into the clouds, halting her momentum the moment she was encompassed by fluffy white. Gravity quickly took a hold of her and begun forcing her to ground level. Her eyes were closed as she dove down... only later to reveal they had changed back to their usual destructive crimson.
Her right fist was cocked back, the sparks around her expanding and turning into fully fledged explosions as she transferred all of the remaining energy she had been storing inside of herself into her fist. The moment she was near, she unleashed what was currently the strongest attack in her arsenal... directly into Muramasa's chin.
"Phoenix Buster!"
In hindsight, Jasmine was incredibly lucky that Mia had the foresight to launch Muramasa into the air. The resounding explosion the second her fist made contact with his face would've likely blown up one or two of the high-rises. A massive shockwave erupted from the blast as the red giant's body was sent darting directly towards Mia, encased in fire and explosive destruction.
Jasmine herself quickly emerged from the smoke, her hand quickly grasping the edge of the roof of a building to halt her descent as she expectantly watched what was about to come next.
"Show them why you're number one, sister!"

Watching the scene unfolding in the sky, Mia was definitely thankful for Jasmine taking her foe higher into the air before unleashing the final blow she could deliver. Right now the fight was all but officially there’s, they just needed to turn this from a near loss to a truly triumphant victory, and it’d really help if they could minimize the property damage in the process. No offense to the kid, she was guilty of it herself afterall, but neither of their quirks were the best when it came to minimizing the damage to their surroundings.
Boy though… when that final blow… that phoenix buster came, Mia couldn’t help but be a little intimidated. She hadn’t quite been able to test what her red-state was like when she was actually conscious for it but… damn kid. Way to make her question if she can take you the next time the two of you spar. Still though… as much of a comment as that slither of intimidation was, the proud grin to follow said a whole lot more. Sure, this kid may be someone who could beat her, leave her with a hell of a mark, kick her off the throne she had yet to even reclaim but…
Fuckin’ hell. If anyone was gonna kick her down the ladder, she was damn glad it was that kid.
“GOT IT!”
Charging forward as she tried to follow the plummeting meteor that was Muramasa, the flickering eyes of the bulking mass didn’t seem to hold much more consciousness in them, but with a beast like him? Better safe than sorry. Charging into a run, she kicked hard off the ground into a leap. She coulda met him at the ground, pounded him with a blow that likely coulda sent him through a couple of the neighbouring streets, but she needed to keep the damage low. She needed to show she was in control…!
And, in part… she wanted to make sure she saw the moment the fight faded from his eyes!
Her arm collided with him mid leap. She felt the momentum of his body, the heat from Jasmine’s flames flow through and over her. God that girl packed a punch but transmitted through Muramasa she was at least able to handle that. The two soared along the street for a moment, the heat fading from Muramasa’s skin. He didn’t seem to have the capability to speak, most of his body probably paralyzed by the physical shock at this point, but from the glare in his eyes as Mia took him through the air she could tell he could at least hear.
Mia’s mind thought quick, it lingered for a moment…
“Ya know… never was the kind for speeches.~”
She’d had her moment for the public before. Her moment to inspire hope, to be heard, to provide a distraction for Jasmine. This? This was her moment. Grasping his shoulder, she spun him around and took a firm hold of the back of his head as her leap began to descend. She threw her free arm back, her fist impacting the air and bringing her down torwards the ground in a sharp drop, dragging Muramasa’s hair, and throwing his face down into the ground.
The damage may have been localized… but Mia still racked up quite a bill.
The tarmac? Destroyed. Nearby windows? Fucking returned to the sand they came from. Street lamps throughout the block? Bent and distorted. If any of their audience has been left on their feet a good number of them lost their footing, and Muramasa’s face left a harsh imprint in the steel sewer pipes beneath the road.
Mia was panting, Her grasp on his head firm and hard. She waited. Any twitch. Any spasm. She was gonna take it as a sign to keep going… but all that passed was the signs he was still breathing. Slowly, likely painfully, but so long as she didn’t have a death on her hands she was more than happy.
She dragged her fist out of his hair, bits of rubble and tarmac falling from her arm having embedded themselves from the effort it took to drive Muramasa’s face through it all. She stood up silently, rolling her shoulders back as little trinkets of gravel dropped from the rest of her skin. With no fanfare, the red slowly faded from her skin. Thick, deep blue bruises, harsh cuts, flashes of blood that blended in with her skin. She didn’t shake, she wasn’t in pain. She stood strong and took in a deep breath.
It was nice to just… taste air again. Without the sickening flavour of stress and anxiety beneath it.
Her head finally fell forward, just letting the satisfaction wash over her. A good chunk of the crowd burst into cheers, a few tried to boo louder than the rest but it wasn’t exactly coming through. Mia was kinda deaf to it all though. She had no words. The pain was turning to numbness… she was exhausted, but she knew she wasn’t broken… with her back to a chunk of the crowd, her head hanging but her shoulders strong.
She just smiled.

Breath ragged, body aching all over, it took Jasmine an entire ten seconds to realize exactly how many ribs she had broken in this little escapade of hers. Things were nowhere near as bad as they had gotten during that zombie invasion a couple of months back, and while it definitely stung like a bitch, she was absolutely certain she could manage it. A small smile came to her lips as she took everything into account, her brain already going through that same damnable ritual it always did of mulling over a fight as soon as it ended. She did it -- she improved. While there were still flaws and unnecessary risks taken, Jasmine had managed to pull out the best her current arsenal was able to provide and she was damn proud about it.
Though that thought hadn't lasted long. Despite her habits being so deeply ingrained into her body they were unable to keep her attention for too long. Not when Mia was about to finish off that bastard that was plaguing her. She couldn't miss this. Jasmine wanted to see this beast put down and she needed to witness Mia's moment of glory.
Azure eyes strained as Jasmine tried to make out what was going on between all the smoke and debris still lingering about the wide space between herself and the two bulky fighters. Her grip on the edge of the building loosening a little due to what remained of her strength quickly fading, Jasmine grunted to herself as she hit on outcrop of the building she had started her descent against, feeling her body sliding against the diagonal glass side of the structure. Making no means to stop, the student simply allowed herself to go the entire way before what purchase she had found was taken away from her by the open air in front of her. Twisting in mid air, she managed to face ground zero while descending and the sight she saw only made her smile grow.
As much as Jasmine puffed up her chest and blew on her own trumpet when it came to Mia, she was well aware there was absolutely no competing with her. Not yet and not for a long, long time. That woman was a monster and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't feeling a little jealous... though that feeling was a small one. The major part of her heart felt nothing short of prideful, especially at the sight she now bore witness to of her fucking sister serving that asshole one hell of a beat down.
"Heh, fuckin' A..." Jasmine mused to herself as gravity fully took hold of her frame and pulled her towards street level. She had very little gas left in the tank, just enough to keep terminal velocity from biting her in the ass. When she finally reached street level, she grunted out in pain as her back hit the roof of a car, windshields shattering as metal bent. Ow, her vision blurred momentarily, the back of her skull burning from the impact as her body tensed up, her entire spine feeling like it had just taken an acid bath.
The crimson light in her eyes flickered as the adrenaline coursing through her veins begun to fade, exhaustion taking over. The chants of the crowd rung in her ears as she tried to steel her breathing, wincing slightly at the incoming migraine caused from having stretched her senses so far out. Her mind was still incapable of fully understanding what had happened to her but she knew that whatever it was, it was the sole reason she was able to achieve Phase Rush... or at least get a taste of it. If what she surmised about the newfound way to use her quirk was correct, a neigh endless stream of possibilities presented itself to her.
She couldn't help the giddy snicker that left her even if she tried.
Turning her head to the side, Jasmine had front row seats to Mia's display of glory, the smile on her face so bright and contagious it made the musician's chest fill with warmth. Jasmine offered a tired yet happy grin, raising a shaky hand to offer a thumbs up.
"Mia "Red Horn" fuckin' Kearney, everybody. Japan's Number One Hero."
