You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ This is gonna hurt like hell when the adrenaline dies down, huh? No small sigh escaping the lungs of the lilac-eyed lady as she pulled herself back to her feet, the warrior woman winced as she found several small shards and splinters of glass sticking our of her back as a result of her act, but was glad to see that she was the only one suffering such dire straights for the moment as she checked her rescue out and then stood back up. “You stay right the hell there, boy, I'll be back!” Pulling a few of those barbs from her flesh as she turned on her heel and then dashed back to the window she had just burst through to see what was going on, Miss Murasaki jabbed a menacing finger and words with maximum authority at the fool who had caused this before seeing the state of their surroundings, and knowing she had even less time to rebuke him than she realized. No no no no no! The space of seconds she had taken saving this clown more than enough to provide the wayward chopper the chance to chop its way through those cables which were holding their original target up and sending him spilling to the ground in front of her eyes, a sense of panic shot through the form of the purple pro as she saw that body drift downward at a rapid rate of knots, and she knew that she had to beat him to the ground or die trying. Flopping forwards because of this and kicking off the wall beneath her that she cracked yet another window in her wake as she launched herself toward the ground with both the effect of gravity and the effort of her eminent ebony form, Maya threw herself down with every ounce of strength and momentum she could create without worrying about how she was going to stop herself, and was glad to wrap her hands around the frightened fool soon after, but was still hurtling toward the ground at a rapid rate of knots without a parachute. So much for an easy day! Shaking her head as she wrapped her lower limbs around the her partner for this plummeting occasion and brought her hand up in order to steady his head as well, the sable siren clamped herself around the stranger in a manner which in another situation would likely have been seen as rather a frisky position, and then loosed an arm with the ‘safety line’ she carried for situations like this in order to snag something, or in fact anything to stop them falling further. “Hnnnnnnggg!” This about to be a rough ride for both of them but the thin but strong wire she unleashed and her own resilient form able to take the brunt of the force unleashed as she denied terminal velocity and got hit with a whole lot of G’s as a result, all that the young woman could do was groan as it felt like her arm was about to be torn off and squeeze her target against her; hoping her would make it through this without some form of spinal damage or even worse… Death.

Glancing down from her position hovering away from the building, Yumi at least got the pleasure of some relief as she spotted that UV had managed to catch the civilian that had ended up falling. She wondered if UV would have had time to do that if she hadn’t held off the chopper and if she could take some solace in the fact her efforts had had an effect there but… now was hardly the time to be giving herself anything close to a pat on the back, her brow furrowing as she just tried to hold back the frustration with what she was seeing. The chopper’s blades had stopped spinning, and from the lack of screams ahead of her it seemed the top floors had been evacuated anyway while they dealt with the situation beforehand, so at least the most that came from this was some property damage.
“Right… don’t you two worry, I gotcha…” She subtly adjusted her grasp on the clothes of the two she was carrying, careful to fly slow back towards the rooftop or street that UV had ended up on. Her chest felt tense and tight, worried that thanks to the singing created by her fingertips the clothes may rip or tear at any moment, that if she flew too fast it might increase the odds of that happening, but thankfully it seemed they weren’t going to throw a trifecta of accidents and mistakes at her today, letting out a tightly held breath as she came down to land, cautiously letting the two of them find their feet… though they did quickly drop to their knees, the fear in their system shaking them quite a lot it seemed as they needed a moment to just simply process everything and breathe.
Yumi didn’t say much to UV, It clear as she landed her own legs were a little shaky… from her apprenticeships she hadn’t really been seeing much action, most of her mentors just took her out on a casual patrol but… now looking up at the building, and the huge section now cordoned off so no one got struck by any potential debris that had yet to fall… well suffice to say she’d gone right from the shallow end to the deep end with an incident like this, her head hanging lower for a second before returning to the woman she was working with, something catching her brain. “H-hey… where’s the kid…?” She asked, curious where he’d been left.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ I’ll be feeling that one tomorrow, won’t I? Might need to work on these whole hook things, or get a parachute or something for stuff like this, huh? Grimacing as she felt the burden of her act falling heavily on the limb and shoulder connected to it, though ordinarily the weight of herself and a man was nothing that her amazing appendages couldn’t have handled solo that sudden stop was something else and though she suspected that she hadn’t suffered any serious breaks or tears with her reckless act, the way her arm throbbed in the aftermath told her this was something she shouldn’t try again any time soon. At least not today, anyway. “You doing OK there buddy? Bet you didn’t think your day was gonna end up like this, huh? Me either, if I was honest…” For the moment more concerned with the man she had grabbed than that pulsing pain she felt running down from that slim but sturdy line she had tossed into the air, while Maya knew her own raven-haired resilience would leave her right in the end she hadn’t been sure that the guy could have well been the victim of some nasty whiplash or something because of that abrupt denial of velocity, and as such was glad to find him looking a bit sore and very shaken but otherwise alright. “And a one, and a two and hup!” Nodding to her hanging cohort and shifting his weight to allow her to move a bit better by supporting his shoulder with her own as they looked n the same direction, though her arm still felt like someone was trying to rip it off Miss Murasaki flicked her now freed feet forward and backward a few times to build some momentum, and then lurched toward an open-top balcony a couple of floors beneath her as she loosed the wire that had been supporting them. “Hahahaha, hope you’re not married? Might be better to keep the part about the hot young thing wrapping herself around you to yourself from Mr or Mrs Window Cleaner eh?” Landing on the ground with a slight grunt and very glad to be supporting both their weight with her lower limbs than her upper ones, after a few moments of deep breaths the beauty eased the shaky window cleaner onto his feet and felt glad to see he could stand upright relatively well, and even shared a joke and a pat on the back with him for a moment as she tried to help him forget the fright of everything that had happened. “Best get you and everyone checked over though, just in case? That special someone’ll be expecting you back in one piece, eh?” All too awae of the fact that even with a degree in physical exercise she was far from the level of a doctor or even an EMT when it came to medical wellbeing, the sight of her scarlet haired student encouraged the ebony enchantress to make sure everyone here was well supported now that the worst of the ordeal was over, and lifted her finger to her ear to activate her comms because of that. “This is Ultra Violet, situation in Tokyo Plaza resolved for the moment without casualties from the looks of things, but we’ve got a helicopter hanging half out of a skyscraper, so we’re going to need fire and rescue as well as EMT’S for this one; it got a bit messy.” Quickly gaining a hotline to hero command through this act and rolling her still throbbing limb around a couple of times to try and help the pain in it ease as she waited for the voice of a human at the other end, when she finally clicked through to control the purple pro immediately asked for any and all appropriate assistance she could get, and expected it wouldn’t be all that long until it had arrived going off the way in which the police were already cordoning off the ground and keeping onlookers under control. “Nice job on the rescue rookie, we might make a hero of you yet, Crimson!” All too aware of the fact that the real hard job was only just beginning when her eyeline moved up to the tenuously placed chopper that had crashed into the building and suspecting she would need to head up there sooner rather than later to ensure everyone was OK where it had been hit, for the moment Miss Murasaki knew she needed to steady both herself and her student, and shot a smile toward Yumi as they reunited to congratulate her on a job that was on the whole rather well done. After all, things could have been a lot worse, couldn’t they? “Oh him? I left him up there, with strict orders not to move an inch til I got back to him?” It seeming that the resplendent redhead had far more interest in finding out about the fool who had made the situation a thousand times worse however, Maya gestured toward the broken window that was now far above them that she had burst through less than a minute ago before continuing to stretch out that bad arm of hers, and pulled it across herself to try and stimulate some circulation and stuff going whilst also checking the motility she had in it as well. “He was OK though, so no need to worry?” Taking things at face value as she did so as well and assuming that her perky pupil was more concerned about the idiot than anything, she shook her head as she dismissed any notion of him being hurt and instead gestured to the lacerations and lingering shards of glass in her own back to show that someone else had taken the hit this time, before wincing at her injuries and wondering just how much adrenaline must be pumping through her right now so that she could scarcely feel them. Damn, she was gonna be double sore tomorrow, wasn’t she…?

Seeing UV handling so much more when Yumi was barely finding her feet again left the red head feeling a little guilty on the matter. She should be doing more to help here, making sure she was putting her first aid skills to use where needed, pushing back the crowd so no debris fell on them, making sure the people she rescued were okay but… suffice to admit she was a little stunned. She was holding herself better than most maybe, but given her training she could tell she should maybe be doing more than this, furrowing her brow and clenching her fist in some frustration… as she came down to a full landing, and UV called out to her, the comment on her hair color brought a brief smile, her electricity fading to show her true colors again. “Heh… maybe some day. Don’t think I’ll be juggling as much as you any time soon… gotta say it’s impressive to watch.” She commented, having seen her handling the services needed to run this situation from the moment she came in for a landing.
Yumi glanced up to the building that UV pointed out as the spot she’d left the vigilante, her brow furrowing in frustration… she used to have an open mind about vigilantes she’d admit. She liked the idea of people who risked it all to save a life or protect someone but… that. That had been dangerous. It had made the situation worse and it was brash and foolish and… She crossed her arms so her tension didn’t show as obviously in her hands, her amber gaze flowing to the rooftop and giving a quiet nod, trying to hide the building frustration with a simple comment on the matter. “Good…”
She tried to push the thought process down for now and not give into the frustration of it, taking a slow breath and moving over to the two people she’d rescued, who were already being seen to by some more professional paramedics… she just had to play her part. As much as she wanted to keep an aye on him, make sure he didn’t get out of any punishment such a mistake was going to bring, that wasn’t her duty. If UV thought he was gonna stick around… she trusted the woman’s justice. “Hi… I hope you two are okay… I wanna preface I understand my quirk can be a little harmful. Did either of you suffer any shocks or spasms while I was carrying you? Even if you think they were induced by fear or adrenaline it will help me advise your treatment.” A lot of paramedics didn’t exactly deal with electrical shocks like hers on a daily basis afterall.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Hahahaha, wow, I’m glad I impressed someone, it was pretty touch and go there for a while?” Laughing and shaking her head as she found herself being complimented on her performance by Yumi, Miss Murasaki drew her fingers back through those long and lustrous locks and sighed, unsure of what exactly she should make of what had gone on. “Kind more used to jumping on bad guys than window cleaners. Well, this one doesn’t look a bad guy at least…” Far happier to see her success in flattening some overblown fool who thought themselves a challenger to her than the sort of person who could give herself much credit for stuff like this, while she happened to be in the right place at the right time things could have gotten a lot worse and nearly did, and as such she opted to treat the situation with humour more than anything. “Didn’t seem to mind me jumping on him though, that was for sure!” Nudging the still no doubt rather shaken window cleaner as she continued and grinning as she did so, Maya was far happier playing the fool in a little horseplay like this because she honestly didn’t like thinking about her own limits too much, and it was situations like this which really made her feel the most limited. She couldn’t fly or summon some powerful magic power to aid this situation, she was just ‘normal’ made slight better with the right constitution. “That’s our secret though, right?” Perhaps not without the odd subtle talent here and there for dealing with these kinds of things though one in particular feeling like it came more from experience than the gifts of genetics, the small smile she managed to elicit from the man with her wink was more than enough to help the sable siren feel a little more at ease, and with the assurance she moved on to see how her young charge was doing. “Whew, seems like you’re giving em the full service, huh?” Stepping off from her own rescuee in order to check on Yumi after that fraught and frantic moment which had fallen upon them, though she was perhaps a little bit too much of a tomboy to be wholly sensitive when she addressed her concerns for the security of her student Miss Murasaki tried to broach her scarlet star in a cool and casual fashion, and wondered how she was doing now that the drama was dying away. “What about you, Red? How’re you feeling after all that?” Needing to have places a heavy burden on the girl in a situation like that and it seeming only natural that the girl might not be her previous chipper self after seeing a helicopter plough into the side of a building, the dark dish opted to ignore the rising sound of sirens in the distance for a moment as she checked after the magnificent and magnetic marvel, hoping she saw what she had done for the fact that they had succeeding in saving at least four lives with what they had done there rather than feeling even an ounce of failure in how things had turned out…

Yumi’s smile perked up just a smidge but little more as she observed Maya teasing the civilian they managed to save, glad at least one of them could keep the mood uplifted as things went on but… the weight of what just happened, how close a call that all was, it was still resting right on Yumi’s shoulders, or maybe more like a rock in her gut. The fact that had all happened so fast, so sharply, one wrong move and 3 if not more people could be dead… did she even make the right move letting the helicopter rest in the building? It didn’t feel like the right move but… if she’d shoved it back it could have crashed into the street… things could have been worse.
She wasn’t quite used to the hero stuff. She’d gotten her over-active brain calmed down for the classroom, for dealing with her peers, but there were a lot of risk factors in the field, and she was still busy considering most of them. That light perk of her smile was all Maya seemed to manage in the teasing show with the civilian before Yumi tried to keep her mind busy dealing with the civilians.
Yumi had just gotten her bio-electrical absorption device on one of the civilians. The contact was minimal and she’d tried to focus on touching their clothes, but they were saying they were feeling some light spasms. Could just be they were setting up the ground work to make a claim or something later but she’d rather take their word for it and do the treatment. “Okay you might feel a bit ‘dead’ in this arm for a moment but it’ll help even you out…” He eyes locked on the display of the cuff device, she glanced only briefly to Maya as they asked how she was doing, a sigh flowing through her parted lips.
“I… I’m frustrated.” She kept her voice quiet, taking the cuff off the civilian and waving him off to the paramedics once it had done it’s job, not dismissively, just trying to send him on his way to more trained professionals before giving Maya more attention, not wanting to drag some stranger into their conversation. “Conflicted, too. Everytime I go into the field it seems I’m either working an actionless patrol or the stakes go through the roof. Would be nice to stop a simple car chase or something sometime ya know?” She tried to laugh a little at that, but it was a little weak. “Plus I… I never got the vigilante hate until… well now. They’re good people with good intentions but… you saw what that mistake nearly cost people. Their lives or their loved ones and…” She ran a hand back through her red fringe, shaking her head. “I dunno how to feel… a lot of heroes used to be vigilantes but… its clear to me now why they made a school for this stuff. Being untrained carries a lot of risk… I mean I’m still going over the risks in my head cause of MY training and I’m still unsure I did everything the way I should…”

❝ “Hmmmm…. I see.” The brow of the bronzed beauty knotting a little as Yumi vented her feelings, Miss Murasaki clasped the bottom of her chin gently and rubbed it as she digested the complicated concerns of the redhead, and waited for her to vent fully before offering up any kind of response. “Well, I have a pretty nice ride, you can chase me around as I drive that if you want?” Deciding that a little bit of humour was probably the best thing she could use to defuse the tension that the teen was feeling right now, the sable siren cocked her head and smirked as she offered a little joke about the issues the girl had raised, hoping to elicit a bit of a smile before she moved onto the meatier part of their discussion. “Hahahaha, but yeah, sorry, I didn’t mean for our first day to get too spicy either, but at least you proved yourself during it…” Lifting her hand to the back of her head to scratch it as she apologized for the sudden and intense turn that their day had taken when things had gotten way, way, waaaay out of hand there, though Maya was perhaps a tad concerned about how the youngster might have handled the tough days of being a professional crime fighter if that imbalance was upsetting her, she guessed the problem was more one of relativity and comparison than anything else from what she was saying. “Next time I’ll try and get a better middle point between hang sesh and chopper rescue~?” It likely that the lightning lass might have managed to deal with the bigger events if she had built a bit more confidence by giving herself more frequent but less straining challenges to deal with, the dark dish offered a hint that her student had a place at her side as she confirmed the idea that she would try to find a happy medium for their adventures in future, guessing that even if she personally seemed to benefit most from the rush she got from besting those highly stacked odds not everyone was like her, and she would need to temper her training a little until the cutie was comfortable. “As for the kid, I dunno… He was definitely a dumbass for trying to get involved in that stuff, for sure, but at the same time, I dunno…” The second concern of the scarlet shocker something that was a little harder to offer an answer to however, though it would have been easy for the ebony enchantress to hand out condemnation for what had occurred and she certainly didn’t wish to condone his behaviour either, at the same time she couldn’t help but show a bit of sympathy toward him even in spite of all this. “I know what it’s like? I got my start diving in at the deep end and seeing if I could swim, maybe I’d had a bit more fight training and such but I was just a plucky teen wanting to make a difference?” The benefit of experience perhaps helping Miss Murasaki to see angles that Yumi was missing and understand the intent behind the actions a little better, it would be difficult for her to fully condemn that spirit when it was what had spurred her to the position she was in, and while she wasn’t about to let the lad get away scot free she felt a bit sorry for him to. After all, there but for the grace of god was she, no?

Yumi scoffed quietly at the attempt of humor, gently shaking her head though a smile was on her lips. She could tell the older woman was trying and it wasn’t exactly her fault if Yumi wasn’t the most receptive to it, but it did at least do it’s job of easing the tension, even if only a sliver. Yumi’s head hung a little, unsure if she should meet the woman’s eye and folding her arms. She’d gotten a lot better at expressing herself, not letting herself feel down but.. hey that didn’t mean she couldn’t still feel shitty from time to time surely?
“Nah don’t worry about it I mean… no one can predict crime right?” She tried to laugh it off a little herself, but the big divide between absolutely no action and ALL the action was a bit striking. Just saving someone from the dangling window cleaning… thing, that was one thing, but the helicopter thrown in to boot? It gave her a reminder of her first time in the field with Yellow Jacket. Simple flight exercises turned into a hostage situation that… still had some loose ends to tie up, so to speak. Her arms squeezed a little tighter around herself, but she tried not to let her mind linger on that too much, trying to lift her head a bit. “It’s good experience but… yeah. Just seems I’m always dealing with the extremes, ehehe…” She did fully understand though, none of this had been in Maya’s control, shaking her head and trying to put on a smile. “Seriously, don’t worry about it… a good night’s sleep and I won’t even be worryin’ about it. It really was a good… if intense experience. Don’t take this as me complaining about getting some good work under my belt.”
As Maya explained her own confliction on the kid, Yumi could only really agree. It was WHY she felt a bit shitty about it. “See like… that’s just it! I get it! I absolutely get that desire to be a vigilante and with so many heroes being ex vigilantes it clearly went somewhere, that desire to help people and make a difference with some gift you have and… I dunno. I never saw myself being a vigilante but I could always respect it. Now I’ve been through UA, I realized I do wanna be a hero but… now I… I’m on the otherside. I have the training and I saw everything that went wrong like a domino chain in my head. Things they should have done or not done that lead to other mistakes in the scenario and…” She sighed with a chuckle.
“But that’s just it… I get it, I get the moxie, I get the want to help and I can’t fault them for that and…” He shoulders sagged, a heavy exhale puffing through her nose. “That’s why I feel even worse… cause I’m that much more conflicted about how I should feel about this. Best thing I can think to do is suggest they try out UA before they do that again but… “ She let out another sigh, swaying to one side and looking over the building. “Dunno how something like this is gonna look on their application…”

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Nah like, I totally get it dude? The pressure you’re under, especially as the first wave of the hero-destined is immense, and something neither of us should be taking lightly?” Concerned that perhaps the playfulness that the purple show had shown might have seemed a bit dismissive of the woes and worries the young woman had, though Yumi seemed to assert that she would get over her issues of uneven training after she’d had a bit of time and rest her senior opted to show a more sensitive side, which was born more from her endeavours of exercise in her school years and the career as a personal trainer that had come after that. “Like, it’s OK to not be fine after a sleep and stuff? We’re not robots so if something’s bothering you, we should deal with it just like we would a maniac with flameballs or some poor guy hanging off the side of a building?” Certainly not wanting to undersell the impact of anything that might be bothering a girl like this on a psychological level, Miss Murasaki knew from both her career in crime fighting and the slightly less pressured environment of competitive sports that one needed the psychology down as much as they needed the physical aspect of their abilities, and wanted her pupil to know that she would be here for her on account of her doubts and mental health as she would any other kind of training. “Yeah it’s… It’s messy as hell, I guess?” Only able to agree with the girl when it came to the mire that was the issue of vigilantism, though Maya had noted that she admired the spirit of the lad at least and her scarlet student had agreed with her on that, it was now her turn to confirm that she had no easy answers when it came to the whole issue. “Even I’m not totally sure what to make of that dude, and he’s far from the worst example either?” Certainly by no means impressed by what the boy had done and seeing all too clearly that he had taken a bad situation and made it ten or more times worse by trying to intervene, the Asian amazon admitted that this was nothing new to her really, and in many ways her own example was one that seemed the exception which proved the rule. “I’ve seen guys get so obsessed with their ‘justice’ they end up as bad as the people they’re trying to fight, worse in some ways?” All too eagerly remembering how she had on occasion had seen those who took her own philosophies and acts way further than she ever intended, the grim reality of the quirker life was that all sorts of personalities were being gifted with all manner of supernatural abilities, and sometimes the two did not mix all that well together one bit. “Shit. I suppose ultimately the best we can do for now is take the idiots as they come, and hope that seeing shining stars like you and me manage to convince a few of them to shape up a bit?” However there perhaps some hope in the works and none of it centred more than upon the fresh face nearby, Miss Murasaki had to have faith that people like her and the girl before her even more so could be more than people who could fight villains and save lives. Maybe they could be an inspiration for a fresh generation, and help the world see a better way of doing things…?
