"Hehehe, fair enough I suppose. I mean as an electrical quirker your right, I know a lot about myself so I know a lot about what must work against him but there are small intricacies you always gotta account for er... sorry. Sorry. I guess I'm just being a bit paranoid. I just struggle to feel like I have all the answers or the solutions is all, even now that I'm feeling more confident in myself." She gave a cautious shrug and rubbed at the back of her neck. That was all there was to her denials afterall. Even if through her own quirk she could hold a great advantage over Thunder, she didn't like the idea of rushing in over-confident and then finding out his own quirk had some weird limitations, or lack of limitations compared to her, and be blindsided by what came of it. Always had to be on her toes was all, which made it difficult for her to confidently smack talk about a villain or the like.
Realizing she may have soured the mood a bit, she raised her hands a little defensively. "N-no it's okay I just... I know it's just that 'hero smack talking confidence' I just... I've seen a fair few people think the same about Ishtar and it's just not true? So... I don't wanna see anyone rush at her with false assumptions and get themselves er... killed, I guess. She's sly and she's smart... but her quirk makes sure she's just as deadly I promise you that." She listened to how Maya tried to defend herself in a fight against Ishtar, how her quirk made her tough down to the cellular level but-
"Honestly? That probably means she's even more deadly to you? I mean, MAYBE it means your cells will be more resistant to her, but she encourages permanent cell death and decay. It's like... reverse cancer almost? The cells stay there and prevent recovery rather than over-expanding. If your quirk relies on your cells all over your body... I mean there's a risk she could just... you might survive, but she could kill off your quirk with the permanent decay and..." She let out a heavy sigh. "Sorry... again. Like I said I... I get paranoid thinking about quirk applications, I overthink them, and for fellow heroes thats great but... it can make me realize just how deadly villains are too..." It had it's benefits, she'd never go at a villain overconfident... but she'd never be devoid of fear either in the face of a villain who's quirk had such deadly capabilities. It was a part of why she was scared to fight Thunder. He could absorb electricity which meant if she faced him, she might just become a battery for him. He could be exhausted by other heroes, drains her, then has the energy to keep fighting. It was a huge potential risk...
She took a slow breath and tried to refocus, not wanting to linger too much and getting back into the action with Maya, she was here to get some field experience afterall.
"OOoooh I see... you didn't understand huh?~" She teased with a wide grin. Yumi started to look about before spotting one of the larger apartment buildings in the area. She slowly lowered to the ground, and rested into a runner's start position, hands down on the ground, one leg back, one bent forward. "See, I can seperate myself from any surface by 10 stories... so unless you can jump off the air I think i got you beat...~" She looked back with a teasing smirk and her bright amber gaze. "Keep up.~"
Not holding back this time Yumi burst off the ground, going her full speed, darting over the buildings that seperated her and her target like a blue blur, bursting across them with ease and swift mobility, almost skating across as she let her momentum carry her over it. When she reached the apartment building, she started to circle the whole structure like a rising cyclone until she reached the top. With her momentum, she managed to launch herself a further 20 stories into the air, taking a deep breath as the air got a little thin, before falling back down to the rooftop below her, her electrical tendrils catching her before she crashed, slowing her down into a gentle landing, crossing her arms confidently over her chest, and leaning against a ceiling vent till her mentor caught up.
"So I think you were bragging a moment ago there? Sounded like you were at least... wanna try again with that?~"

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heheheheh, best not to think about what if’s, OK kitten~?” Sighing softly as it seemed that the anxiousness of the airborne angel was getting the better of her, while she certainly appreciated the advice that Yumi could offer when it came to her potential enemies, Miss Murasaki could see that all the worrying was doing the girl no good and as such leaned toward her and gave the girl a light tap on her forehead to bring her back to the moment. “That’s what I think at least?” Readily recognising the powerful perceptive skills that her pupil possessed but agreeing with her when she pointed out that they could be a detriment to herself as well, while reasoning and insight was great and she too liked a tactical approach, ultimately Ultra Violet knew that the biggest boon one could have as a fighter was flexibility; the ability to adapt ones approach or even one’s mind to come out on top of a situation. “Sometimes you just have to roll with what life throws at you, and do what you can to get the better of it~?” That largely the reason why the raven prioritised her instincts so very much, it was all well and good having a cheat sheet on every enemy one met but ultimately one needed to learn to roll with the punches, how to keep moving forward even when you were getting hit, and know that things would get better. “But no one’s invincible. I’m not, she’s not. Eventually someone will beat us both in one way or another so… You just gotta make the most of what you have, here and now, and worry about tomorrow when it comes?” Positivity the key to determination and perhaps it surprising her that a bubbly beauty like this was a little lacking when it came to bright outlooks, Maya tried to remind the redhead that she should live in the moment a little more than she seemed to be doing, and while she knew that the harrowing experience the girl had been through might continue to weigh on her mind for some time to come she knew she could also provide ample distraction from it as well. Case in point when the two were larking around in mid-air. “Hahahahaha, bragging might be taking it a bit far, ‘Stilts’~!” By no means unimpressed when Yumi seemed to bring out the big guns or in this case the big railguns or something and launched herself into the air, though Miss Murasaki was grinning at the achievement of the girl she chose to take issue with the jibing jabs they were exchanging more so, and even afforded her student her very first nickname as she did so. “That’s some nice work though, really…” Certain to point out the feat of the flying femme all the same as she used her own short bounds in combination with a few well-placed surfaces and some incredible acrobatics to reach the same height as the girl, the sable shinobi shot a smirk at the girl and then continued onward from there higher and higher, using the roofs of buildings like steps as she marched onward without respite. “I’ll admit that I probably couldn’t do that with my quirk, at least not yet anyway~” Sure that the girl could keep up with her by this point and as such using this little get together between them as a chance to really go all out on her workout and enjoy herself, the Asian amazon acknowledged the skill of her scarlet student as she soared onwards and honestly enjoyed the challenge of trying to keep up with her, and felt as if she had been given a new benchmark for success as she watched the girl flow through the air an effortless grace which she honestly envied. “But we’ve all got strengths and weaknesses, and we can make the most of them… Say, you ever been to the top of the Tokyo Tree~?” More than that however seeming to sense the potential the pair might have as they rampaged across the towers of Tokyo and that making the dark dish feel rather daring, as she paused in place with her chest heaving just a little bit and a shine of sweat upon her brow the bronzed beauty looked to a sublime structure in the distance, and found herself wondering if she should take yet another student climbing the titanic ‘timber’ that her hometown offered her…

Stilts was gonna be her nickname? Of all things. Uuuuugh. At least hit her with sparks or something that made sense but... ah well, she was sure it would just be a passing remark and nothing that should latch onto her for too long. She crossed her arms with a mild huff as she came to a landing at the edge of the higher rooftop, her charge still coating her body but the extending tendrils that made her hover off the nearby surfaces definitely calming down as she took a moment to relax after the sudden outburst of energy. Everything was scaled down at UA, so focusing on the more unique, unexpected changes in every street and rooftop that she had to account for... it was more mentally draining than physically, constantly having to account for those changes, but the more she did it, the more instinctive it would become. "Well thanks for the compliment... your jump wasn't too bad either." She continued to tease with a light little smirk on her lips, her shoulders rolling back as she eased out the tension sitting in them from the exertion, wondering where their patrol would take them next.
"It was more a combo of speed to launch myself so high and the lack of friction in being close to the ground. Would be a bit of a hail mary to try and catch a villain who dosn't have the same height limit that I do. Find something tall nearby and launch myself off of it!~" She chimed out with a wide smile, liking the idea. She wouldn't have much control over her flight till she got close to the ground again, but in a desperate situation she felt it could definitely come in handy, even if only for the briefest of moments.
At the question about Tokyo tree it took Yumi a moment to scan the memory of the name. She didn't remember landmarks all that well, she was one of those people who struggled to 'take in the view' a lot of the time. Any image you can find in the world you can probably find online afterall so what was there to be impressed by, but soon enough she realized what they were referring to. "Oh that place? I... wait... are you trying to challenge me to a race or something?~" She teased with a playful smirk to her day's mentor.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Hahahah, well I’m sure I can give you a bit of a boost if you need it~” Winking at the young wonder as she made a comment about her technique being ill-poised for the takedown of an aerial villain and offering her not only words of assistance but a playful whirl of her arm as well, Maya grinned as she imagined launching the latest addition to her ‘Team ULTRA’ like a baseball or something and found it would if nothing else be a nice way of keeping that charming cheek of hers in line. No wonder she got along with Kanna, huh? “Though apparently you UA kids are naming all your moves now, so we’d have to come up with a sick combo tag for it~?” The joke that she shot at her junior seeming to also remind her of something odd she had noted during the past few occasions she had run ins with those aspiring hero applicants, she also smirked and arched her brow as she recalled them seeming to give catchy monikers to the manoeuvres and machinations they performed, and while she was largely messing around didn’t mind the idea of setting up a few of her own ‘super moves’ should push have indeed greeted shove. “Well, gotta admit that I’m not exactly sure that even I can keep up with a human railgun through the air~?” The brow of the bronzed beauty lifting as her scarlet haired student posed the idea of competing to see who could get to the tall tip of the Tokyo Skytree first, though Miss Murasaki had to admit that after the display that Yumi had put in she doubted that even her swift and agile form could get the better of a girl who could zip in any direction as the crow flies, but still didn’t entirely object to the idea. “But I suppose giving it a go might be a hell of a workout, so if you fancy it, I’m game~?” If nothing else sensing that she would likely enjoy having the chance to rush toward a target with this perky pupil setting their pace, though she was supposed to be here in order to tutor the teen the teacher knew all too well that she too could use some improvement, and as such was happy to offer an experience that they could both benefit from in one way or another. “More than that though, the roof seems a nice place to chill out and chat after getting a good session in~? Quite literally reaching the peak of the mountain, I guess~?” That sense of excitement and exhilaration something that sent a shiver through the spine of the spirited siren as she cast her bright eyes toward their target, though she had to admit that she had been eyeing up the prize in the distance as more a reward than an endpoint for some form of competition between them, the idea of getting her blood pumping as fast and hard as possible was something she could never ignore. “By the way, did Kanna mention our trip to Tokyo Tower to you~?” Also reminded in her own way of a time not too long ago when she had taken another one of her sassy students to a piece of the city’s skyline and had quite the unique experience thanks to that, Maya couldn’t help but grin as she remembered the day when she had scaled the side of one of the greatest landmarks around, and wondered if that was a story that her blonde buddy had shared yet with the snarky Miss ‘Stilts’…?

"Well I don't think we all name our moves." She chuckled a little, knowing it had been getting a little common in her second year, but for her third year she'd been seeing it less and less. She'd heard some heroes do it in the field here or there so it wasn't like a HA specific thing anyway buuuut- "I mean I think I've named mine once or twice when I have something reeeeeally epic in mind but we know that it's not good to do it all the time. Having a signature move is good for publicity, it's like a hero emblem, or your costume, its recognizeable, it's yours, it's important to your brand, so to speak. But for all the lesser moves it's not really worth alerting someone, especially if your not sure you can pull it off.. tag team move though.." She chuckled. "Yeah, could definitely be worth a name if you come up with one that actually works. It can be so hard to pull off though I find."
The idea of a race was a fun one but she wouldn't push it herself. Maya seemed interested and so coming down to stand by her side, Yumi started to stretch and loosen up again, pulling her arms across her chest and taking slow, deep breaths to make sure she focused up and got read for a race. She wasn't sure she could ultimately keep up with a full on pro but hey, it'd be fun to try, and she loved these chances to fly out over the city like this and feel the exhilaration of some real time in the field. "Ready when you are."
She caught the comment about Kanna as she was limbering up, and with a nervous chuckle she shook her head. "I havn't actually spent a lot of time with Kanna if I'm honest? I've been real busy ever since she came back to school. Teacher studies, working with Asta, hero studies... it's a lot, put wanting more intern and apprenticeship work ontop of all of that and I just havn't had too big a social life. Kanna tends to keep a bit more to herself than others too. Like, I didn't see her on this big trip I tried to organize for the school so... I just kinda assumed she was doing okay? It was a bit of a surprise when she recommended me to you..."

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Ohhhh~? Hehehehe, you got any other named ones aside from your 'Full Cowl'~?” The ravishing redhead pointing out the fact that not every student had those fancy names for their moves and that making Miss Murasaki curious about whether or not Yumi had, while the designation she had given her fully powered aura seemed a little like what the other kids had been throwing around it wasn't exactly it, and that left the mentor wondering whether her newest addition was following the fads or not. “Hahahahaha, well if we do try it, don't worry… You're working with a professional now~” Winking playfully when the youngster seemed to mention having a hard time getting combination moves right in her experience, though the bronze beauty was largely being playful as she boasted of her own superiority when coming up with such things she did reckon that they might have an easier time getting in synch for her jokey suggestion, if only because it was kind of a simple proposition from her end really. “Ohhhhh really? When was it, that trip~?” Holding fire on their little competition for the moment as well and instead simply taking in the view that the two could see from their perch as she found her intrigue tickled once more by the mention of an outing, as a girl who had been on many a sports meet in her own days as a student she could well understand the value in a day out with her friends, and as such felt a little bit guilty for being so greedy with their green eyed friend. “I've been monopolizing her time a lot, so I probably haven't helped in that regard?” Not entirely admitting the fact that she had done so in part simply because of a kind of 'kindred spirit' vibe because she honestly felt a little awkward mentioning that with a girl she was just getting to know, Maya did at least admit that she was perhaps the one responsible for the degree of absence which had been suffered by the delightful Miss Kusanagi recently, though for the most part had good reason behind that. “Since she missed out on last year's internships from the looks of things, I've been giving her some special attention to try and get her caught up with the rest of you kids, so to speak?” Nabbing their crabby companion whenever the girl said she was available to work because she felt like she could use a lot of polish when it came to her abilities, in her opinion it seemed like Kanna had been lagging a little behind her peers when it came to sheer development because of a troublesome time in her second year, and the ever active Miss Murasaki had been only too happy to help because of that. “Besides, we really tend to click, you know? Reminds me a fair bit of myself in school age?” Dedicated to any potential protégé who was willing to put the work in with her and honestly proud of the development she had seen in the past weeks and months when it came to the emerald eyed lass, though there was no real reason for the purple pro to explain why she showed that hint of favouritism toward her longest serving student the sable siren still offered an insight into why she felt so connected to her, and quietly hoped that maybe with time and effort that her bond with Yumi would go a similar way as well; she was starting to like this 'mother hen' thing, after all…

"Oh I was just joking with the 'full cowl' thing, if anything I tend to call it 'full charge'~" She teased abck about the name of her stuff, she had to think for a moment if she actually named any of her attacks but it really was always just a spur of the moment thing, shaking her head even as she tried to really dig into her memories, but definitely sure she wasn't coming up with anything here. "I really don't come up with my names for long term use, just sorta... get one in the spur of the moment when I think I'm about to do something really badass. I struggle to remember some of my classmates names I can't really push myself to remember the joke names I come up with for every other move.~" She teased with a bit of a chuckle, shaking her head at her own forgetfulness.
Questions about the trip huh? "Oooh it was like, half a month ago by now? It wasn't anything too special. A friend of mine just wanted to go to the hot spring and... well somehow I ended up turning it into a big school trip thing. I think a lot of the people there enjoyed it but I don't remember seeing Kanna? It was on our summer holidays though so... heh. Maybe? Did you have her working with you a lot over the summer holiday?" She asked, tipping her head. It was probably more considered the 'autumn' holiday but thats what the school had called it so she was running with it, throwing in a casual shrug. "Sorry you didn't get an invite, some heroes showed up but just the ones that teach, ya know, chaperones and all to make sure we behaved since it kinda turned into a UA trip."
As they kept moving towards the tower Yumi caught her foot on one of the ceiling vents and bounded off with a surge of electricity, not catching herself in the air, the launch enough to carry her over the next rooftop or so before falling into a spin and bounding off the next surface with ease as her electricity pushed against the surfaces around her. She looked up towards the view ahead of them, listening to how UV was taking a special interest in Kanna due to how they seemed to be alike. Yumi would have to guess what she meant by that, not knowing UV all that well herself yet. "Well I doubt it's been anything but a pleasure. Kanna's a great person... really do need to work on getting more time in with them, ehehe...~" She shook her head, not sinking into that slightly negative thought as she pushed off the next surface to give herself a bit of a boost, the mental strain of having to account for all the shifts in elevation getting to her a bit, but just trying to keep her eyes up and forward, focusing on what was ahead of them to keep herself aloft.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Hahahahaha, well, I look forward to hearing what you come up with~” Hardly disappointed when Yumi told her that she wasn't overly endowed when it came to move names she could recall and instead seemed more the sort to come up with them on the fly, given the spirit that her scarlet haired student had shown thus far she couldn't help but feel excited at the prospect of seeing her creativity in action, and hoped she wouldn't have too long a wait to see what she could do in that regard. “It's a bit dorky, but when I heard those kids doing it, I felt like I should be too, you know~?” Honestly feeling a hint about the hype of the topic in general, while the practice seemed to be pulled straight from the pages of manga and animation in general and had a kind of geeky feel to it there was a sort of earnestness and excitement about it as well, which Miss Murasaki honestly liked, and felt it linked nicely to the little game plans and manoeuvres she did as part of her soccer or volleyball team as well. Like a call back to her youth. “Whoa, I made her miss out on a hot springs trip? Damn, that would have been a treat for her, and all concerned... I bet she'd be pretty cute in a bath full of girls~” Frowning a little as she realized that her fervour might have denied their friend with the green gaze a memorable experience and feeling a hint of disappointment as she did so, the mere mention of the onsen seemed to remind the raven of when she had first met the woman in question, and how they had shared a little saucy spring time together after a hard day of training. That really had been the best, and something she should do again soon, she reckoned. “And yeah, she said she wasn't too busy and it seemed a great chance to give her a leg up, so I took her with her whenever I could? Hopefully it's making a difference for her~?” Their heroic hacktivist working hard and likely looking like she was due for another little 'reward' for her efforts as far as Maya was concerned, while their trip to the beach together had been an event that had just a little bit of a bittersweet taste from her perspective she hoped that by now they had moved on from that stage of their relationship, and could once again enjoy some one on one time as friends again in the near future. “Hahahahaha, well, given your powers at least you might have some decent synergy, so I'd definitely consider you a pairing for a team op~?” Bursting into a bout of laughter which certainly didn't help with how breathy she was getting having to lurch up through the air with most of her effort again and again in an effort to keep up with her aerial ace, Miss Murasaki grinned as she heard Yumi show a hint of longing to see their blonde buddy again, and was certainly amused by the idea of bringing all three of them together for a mission or perhaps even something more relaxed if the occasion called for it. “Unless you were thinking more some special 'one on one' type time~?” Not entirely sure whether her ravishing redhead was craving that simple connection with the feisty femme of their focus or something more however, the next time that she drew level with the girl again the mischievous mocha minx couldn't help but shoot a wink at the young woman, and show a definite sense of innuendo as she took a rather liberal interpretation of the relationship she suspected the two of them shared. After all, if Kanna really was like her back when she was a teen, then she certainly would have fancied a piece of that action, now wouldn't she~?

Yumi chuckled mid flight as Maya seemed insistant on teasing her own little protégé by the sound of things even when she wasn’t here. Kana never seemed like the type to be flustered by that sort of thing to her but maybe she just didn’t handle herself well around older women to give Maya such an impression. “I dunnooooo… maybe a few wandering glances but I don’t see her getting all blushy if that’s what your concerned about. Though in all honesty she is a bit of a wild card so I suppose you can never tell. Maybe if I arrange another trip like that for the school I’ll extend the invitation to more off campus heroes. I’m sure a woman like you who has to use her muscles for her quirk could really indulge in a hot spring experience.~” She chuckled a little as she went on, talking about how she tried to help Kanna wherever she could and how she talked about the girl practically so intimately like they were best friends or sisters despite the fact they likely hadn’t known eachother for long, reminded her of- “Hey you ever met Red Horn? Just, you talk about Kanna a lot like how I’ve seen Jaz and RedHorn talk about eachother. It’s nice seeing you heroes getting invested in us…~”
She shook her head at the clear teasing about Kanna and her having some alone time or working together. She didn’t really know about synergy, Yumi could only shift and manipulate her own electricity, and even then that was really just a very precise output. She didn’t charge up other systems or drain electricity, so Kanna’s quirk never seemed like it’d be a good mix with her. The techno theme they shared was nice but, for combat synergy? Yet to be seen really.
“We’ll see… though you are right, I would prefer it to be a bit more personal. As much as I know your trying to tease me I just… need to catch up with my friend, ya know?”

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Hahahaha, these big guns certainly do love it~” Landing on a rooftop and chuckling as Yumi mentioned her marvellous musculature and pausing despite the fact that it would permit her pupil the chance to draw even further ahead of her, Miss Murasaki couldn't help but grin at the golden eyed girl as she flexed her bicep and poked it a little for their common amusement, and also freely confessed the fact that she honestly loved no Japanese tradition out there more than the Onsen. Well, that or swordmaking, at the very least were her favourites. “But not to worry, my family has this little place outside Tokyo with its own bath. I doubt it's as big as a proper hotel, but could cope with a few people…” Shaking her head as the radiant redhead seemed to suggest the idea of inviting her along for the next trip since she knew she could get her hot spring on whenever she wanted, though the dark dish rarely seemed to boast of the wealth she came from simply because she felt like it made people uncomfortable, she was happy to share the fact she had her own private access to a foggy facility whenever she really needed it. After all, those woods around her home were her favourite place to train, ever since she was young. “That's a thought actually, if we're talking about getting us all together…” That also something she was happy to share as well now that she thought about it, while it was fun having the chance to lunge through the skyscrapers like they were right now there was always something mystical and exciting about that old summer home that Maya had loved since she was a little girl, and hoped that her plucky protégés would as well. “I took Kanna there before to test her out where we wouldn't cause much trouble, so maybe I could organize a 'training camp' type thing? Do some hard work, and have fun in the middle of nowhere together afterward~?” Confident that at least one in that number already had a fondness for the wonder within the woods given their last trip there, though she had considered that something of a one off and the idea of taking multiple students presented a few challenges when it came to numbers and sleeping arrangements, now that the idea had hit her the ebony empress enjoyed the idea more and more and wondered if she should set something up before the weather turned to winter. In fact, right now was probably the perfect time, given that the place would be all the more magical with the leaves around it turning gold and brown. Seems I should have backed off from Kanna sooner… She's missing out on a sweet little chicklet like this, isn't she? Someone her age… The notion of a little getaway to the country something which certainly seemed to tickle the interest of the Asian amazon but her sense of guilt twinging a bit when Yumi mentioned how she missed her friend, the heart of the heroine panged as she realized that her egotistical desire to indulge the crush that Kanna had on her might be hurting her personal relationships, and as such she should probably be doing a lot more to help the girl find company who wasn't in the same position as her. That's who she should be getting it on with, right…? It was hard though, because as much as she tried to force herself not to Miss Murasaki couldn’t help but feel like her motivation lay beyond simple vanity and into something stronger, and even when she recognised her duty to help her student she still didn't wholly want to somewhere inside. She wanted to be selfish, even though she knew she shouldn't, but didn't have much time to focus on the feeling before something caught her attention. “Oh hey, wait a second…!” Carrying a little bud within her ear just in case of trouble and suddenly the thing seeming to perk up in a panicked tone, though she had wanted to do the right thing and offer the younger lass some advice on their common problem all too quickly the dark dish found herself distracted as a police request sounded up in her ear, and seemed to prompt far more urgency from her than the matter at hand could currently. “Damn, looks like the race might have to wait, from the sounds of things there's something going on nearby?” Frowning as she heard something about a window-cleaner apparently hanging from his broken trolley a few dozen stories up, the call had come out for anyone in the area to assist, and honestly it seemed like it was a flying girls chance to shine really. Time for the young stripling to prove herself, wasn't it?

Yumi flipped midair and started doing backhops across the buildings, shooting off bursts of repulsive force whenever her toes hit the next surface and hopping off of it like a coiled spring. Seemed the best way to keep the two of them talking now that her mentor for the day was behind her and also it didn’t really cause much of an issue for her. Yumi got a bit of a sense for how her electricity reacted to the forces around her, when it shifted off a wall, so even when it looked like she may have been about to crash into a taller building she shifted to the side and continued along the tops of the shorter ones. “Personal family spring huh? Well I suppose that makes you a lot fancier than I was expecting… still, its meant to be a big get away, more for the social experience than anything, so don’t be afraid to join us if it happens again okay? I’m sure if you and Kanna could make it she’d love the experience.~” She chimed with a warm smile, a part of her genuinely hoping the two women might be tempted to join them next time. Yumi thought it had been pretty fun afterall.
Yumi’s brow raised as she started mentioning taking Kanna out to that family spot or something for her to train where no one else could really pry on them. She chuckled behind her lips, recalling how Jaz said that the older woman she worked with, Redhorn, would also go to some ‘cabin out in the woods’ to train away from prying eyes. It was a fun little comparison to keep making, and it was kinda cute seeing all her friends having such mentors to look up to… kinda made her feel a little jealous. Not much but… a smidge. “Training camp could be pretty good I guess. I mean, you’d only really be able to do it with second or third years, you’re not a teacher afterall so without one of them there you could only do it with people signed up under you for a mentorship thing… still. Don’t let my over-thinking get ya down! Should be fun!~”
Yumi came to a halt on her backwards hops as it seemed that her day’s mentor came to a bit of a halt, quirking her brow before giving herself a light bap with the base of her palm, realizing that she’d been so eager to engaged with her and get to the action she’d forgotten to sync up her own goggles and the earpieces attatched to them to the local police frequencies. Ugh. Mistake she couldn’t let herself make easily on an future trips.
Maya didn’t give her much information to go on, but with a firm nod she remained perched but ready to go. “Anytime. Lead the way UltraViolet.” She chimed with some confidence. She had some nerves building, wondering what could be in store for them, but the real, unpredictable action of the field is what she was looking for, so she was a little eager despite her nerves.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Heheheheh, well, I pride myself on being the sort of woman just packed full of surprises, so don't feel bad for not guessing it~” Winking at her student and feeling a weird sense of pride in the fact that she seemed to have managed to successfully conceal her privileged origins around someone who seemed so decidedly down to earth, Maya thumbed her chest as she pointed out the fact that there was far more to her than the hyped up sports girl that met the eye, and honestly loved the mischievous mystique that she could spread about herself now that her perky protégé understood that fact. “Wellll, to be honest I do miss those old team trips from my high school days, so hit me up if you need a so called 'adult' along, OK?” Still perhaps a little reluctant to indulge the idea of a group trip and that partly because she seemed to struggle with that whole mentor/mentee separation since she wanted to feel like one of the girls, so to speak, the sable siren still felt a temptation to join them simply for the feel of camaraderie she sensed in the get-togethers, which she had honestly craved ever since she had given up her sporty inclinations in her teenage years. “Heheheheh, not to worry, all my girls are third years, oh and the guy too~” Glad to hear that the girl with the golden gaze seemed keen on the idea of a group getaway, though she seemed worried about where the invitations would end up Miss Murasaki was happy to assure her scarlet haired student that the company she kept was rather elite, though she did feel rather a surge of guilt when she remembered the fact that they weren't quite an all-female company like she tended to assume. “But I'm not sure he's the bath sort? Actually, I really hope he doesn’t short circuit in water…?” The robotic catman who had caught her eye during that effort in a slog far more subdued than the bombastic babes that made up the rest of her number, all too quickly the muggy mixture of pseudo-android and hot spring was not feeling like the healthiest combination to contemplate, and as such the mocha marvel couldn't help but verbally question the issue. Not that she expected her new recruit would have a clue on the matter, she wasn't even sure if Yusaku and Yumi knew each other, after all. “Hahahaha, that’s the spirit! Luckily, for him mostly, it's not far away…” For the time being matters of woodland and watery adventure having to be put on hold due to something of far greater prominence stealing away the emphasis of their current event, though Maya doubted that the redhead would refuse the call to action she still appreciated her spirit, and as such launched her way through the concrete towers with even more gusto than before as a result. “Oh shit, there he is! Fuck, good job we were close, looks like he's barely holding on…” It not taking long for the sharp gaze of the siren to focus on the matter at hand either or rather the matter soon to not be in hand, she spotted the slanted trolley that should have been such a support and the poor soul that hung off it as she paused for just a moment on the roof of a building nearby, and took just a second to work out how best to solve the situation. “News crew's always seem like vultures for stuff like this, don't they…?” The sound of a rotor catching her ear as well and drawing her ire both because of how she disliked how the news tended to sensationalize things and because she guessed that it might prove something of an obstruction to her partner for the day's mixture of electric and magnetism, Miss Murasaki sighed and shook her head as she crouched down in order to give herself the maximum boost in order to reach the struggling victim of the event, but before she could act something else burst into view. “Now, how's about we… The hell is that?!” An object exploding into view rather rapidly which seemed to be hopping like a frog between buildings in a way that honestly was rather impressive, for a second the sable siren wondered if their team had been beaten to the scene by another hero she didn't recognise and honestly would have been relieved if that was the case, but it wasn't. As both her, and the whirling bird in the sky were about to discover…

"Oh? What students do you work with?" She'd ask, tilting her head curiously. She wasn't exactly a gender elitist or anything so the idea she was working with one of the male students didn't both her at all, if anything it just made her more curious. There weren't really all that many male students at UA so she wondered who it might be that she was thinking of and who she was working with. She had a few guesses but it was best not to assume too many things when you could literally ask the person right there. "Short circuit...?" She thought for a moment, did anyone else have an electricity based quirk? It was taking a few moments to really register before she finally snapped her fingers... and a rock sat in her gut. She still wasn't sure how comfortable she was around Yusaku. She'd tried to be friends with him still for a while but her most recent experience with him... he still had his obsessions in her eyes. "I... I think I know who you mean. I may have to take a raincheck on the training camp stuff if he's on board... d-don't mean to be rude just, awkward feelings there."
Focusing on the action though, Yumi wouldn't hold back on her speed. She'd let Maya leed the way but she'd keep her motion high and wouldn't throw in any flashy tasks, blasting off of surfaces with burst of speed and keeping herself moving constantly on the lookout for what Maya had described to her, coming to a sharp halt with a burst of electricity ahead of her to put on the breaks, her breath a little tense in her chest was she looked up to the person holding onto the barely stable window cleaning... platform... she was sure those things had a better name but she really didn't have the brain power for that right now. With someone she had to rescue lingering up in the air like that she wasn't sure what she could really do. She couldn't fly up and grab them without risking a muscle spasm, and somehow she doubted ultraviolet could jump that high, and with a building mostly made up of glass panelling running along the walls was probably dangerous too. She had to think. "O-okay I think if I fly up I can see if I can get the controls working so-"
Maya's attention shift grabbed her own attention too, catching the view of some younger person, even than herself, rushing up to the scene. He flicked out his arm and seemed to almost tug himself up on the air towards the scene. Was... Yumi didn't remember names that well but she knew faces, and that wasn't another UA student, not someone on an internship. She knew other hero schools were popping up but none so close to Tokyo right? So then who-
Her attention was cut by the sudden burst of sound from the helicopter. A metal creak as it seemed to be pulled on. The kid wasn't pulling on air he was pulling on his environment somehow. Yumi watched as the chopper was knocked off balance and suddenly tipped towards the building. The pilot was probably caught off guard as it didn't seem to be correcting itself anytime soon. A pang shot through her chest and without another thought Yumi found herself rushing into the scene. Her electrical tendrels arced off the taller building and a sharp burst of speed put her body between the helicopter and the civilian hanging on for dear life. She grit her teeth, throwing her arms up, sparks of energy repelling the chopper... but it's blades were moving too fast for her to mentally calculate the output she needed. She could halt it, sure, but the chopper blades were still going, keeping a constant force against her that she needed to resist. She didn't have time to apologize to Maya for acting without thinking, it was taking all her energy and focus to hold back something so big and with so much force behind it. She was even oblivious to the civilian behind her, struggling more and more to hold on with the air force against them, and the falling kid who'd failed to use his quirk as he intended.

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “You know that kid…?” The better view that she got of the would be rescuer the easier time that the ebony empress had seeing that she wasn't dealing with another adult but rather some scraggly teen, for a moment Miss Murasaki held out hope that the lad was a fellow intern or apprentice from UA who had gotten a little overzealous with his quirk and his approach, but all that changed when the fool flung himself right at the whirling bird in the sky. “Oh shit!” It definitely a reckless move even in the rowdy rulebook held by the purple pro and that the reason that she felt shocked but not surprised when an almost literal turd hit the fan as a result, the bronzed beauty watched in disbelief for a second as the hapless hero bombed not only his own approach but also threw the helicopter off course, and was left with rather a difficult decision of what to do next given the trinity of targets she had to save. Though it was lucky she wasn't alone. “Hold that chopper there if you can, for as long as you can, even if it's only a few seconds…!” The scarlet student lurching forth and choosing the subject which seemed the best match with her own abilities in a moment of decisiveness which her teacher certainly admired, Maya wasted no time in admonishing the girl for acting without orders and instead yelled encouragement as she threw herself toward someone else, hoping that the girl might just buy her enough time with her skills to avoid a complete catastrophe here. Well, I guess if we need a chance to prove ourselves, this is perfect! Shaking her head as she glanced between the figure who was somehow still hanging from his trolley and the other one who was plummeting toward the ground in a state of sheer disbelief at what had just happened, thought there seemed a certain poetic justice in letting the lad fall to his doom after the trouble he had caused the purple pro knew she couldn't just let him splat on the ground, and opted to prioritize his rescue over that of their original target simply because he was currently in slightly more danger. “I gotcha!” Thankfully for the lad at least the lavender lady capable of exploiting both her own strength and speed as well as the influence of gravity as she launched herself off a wall with enough force to crack the brickwork and snatched him out of the sky, whether it was because of annoyance or sheer urgency Ultra Violet did not waste a moment to look at his face as she hurtled through the air, and knew that things were about to get a whole lot worse from here. “Sorry kid, this might be a bit rough!” The only place that she could go right now into the side of a building and that course likely taking her straight through a pane of glass that was going to hurt her like fuck even with how resilient she was now, in an effort to limit the damage to the idiot Miss Murasaki coiled him up like a ball in her arms and then twisted around at the last second, hitting that shiny surface with her back and shoulders forward and making rather a loud smash as she did so before continuing to use her tough little body like a tire to roll him to a halt. Phase one complete, but there was still a hell of a lot more to do before she could rest…

Yumi could almost feel her teeth being pushed deeper into her own gums from how tightly she was gritting them together, his whole body tense as she was practically flexing every last one of them to get the output she needed to hold the chopper back. She could barely hear her mentor for the day over the still spinning rotor blades and the crackling of her own electricity, but she managed to just barely catch what she was trying to communicate. Just a few seconds. Maybe a handful. Didn't matter, she was told to hold this thing back and given the lives at stake that was exactly what she was gonna do, a whimpering growl coming out of her, displaying pain, frustration, and determination ontop of it as she continued to repel the chopper from the building itself, trying her absolute hardest to hold it at bay.
What felt like a minute or 5 had passed though it had only been a few seconds, and as far as Yumi could tell the person dangling from the window cleaning... thing! They were still there! What the hell where they still....!? She groaned deeply as the tension in her muscles needed some sense of relief, she couldn't hold it perfectly like this and suddenly the chopper began to move towards her again. She didn't have the power or the reactions to hold it off a second time and practically turning her quirk off all together she began to fall, watching the still spinning blades cut into the building above her and sever the lines holding up the window cleaner's cart, forcing them to plummet with it. The pilot in the chopper was likely still in danger themselves, no real way to get out of that before chunks of the building were likely gonna start tearing into the vehicle. Maya was closer to the lower levels so-!
"UV! FALLING CIVILIAN!" She called out without much thought. Flipping about in the air Yumi turned her quirk back on, her energy forcing her off the side of the building and flying skyward again. The cockpit of the chopper was about to dissapear into the building where the pilot and cameraman inside were likely gonna be chopped up by shards of shattered glass. She fired a blast ahead of herself, grasping the helicopter door in an electromagnetic field and wrenching it off without losing her momentum, flying through the cockpit, grabbing the two inside and up out through the other door, careful to hold them by their clothes so she didn't electrify them personally, breathing heavily as the chipper crashed into and gave out in the upper floors of the building, breathing heavily as she hung in the air holding the pilot and the cameraman, just having to... hover and watch, as what was already a tough and horrible situation to deal with devolved into something far far worse...!
She wasn't in a position to say so, but no, she hadn't recognized that kid... and now she was watching the shit they caused.
