Hanako was a woman that might overthink too much about literally everything. She was doing so today of all days. Koko was walking behind her all the time, her little head up in the air, extended as far as she could to see why Hanako was walking back and forth between so many things and did not seem to do anything or change anything, the little puppy did not understand anything about it and just followed until Hanako went to sit down on the ground and pet Koko as the little Dalmatian seemed to be nervous about Hana's behaviour. Kai was still in bed for his little nap but the cake still wasn't here and tonight everything had to be ready too and yet, she was sure no one else but his sisters were coming until she got a text from Finn and she abruptly had invited him for Kai's birthday.
Family meant everything for Hanako so she couldn't be happier or more proud of the fact that it was her baby boy's first birthday and he was so precious and pretty. She would get up and made sure Koko would be okay, their puppy ran off to the living room and curled up in her little bed and would just put her head on the edge and watch everyone that would get into the living room, whether that be G or Hanako. She finally heard the doorbell and quickly rushed to the foyer and thanked the delivery man who brought the cake, she had decided not to make it herself this time, because all needed to be special and she pulled the lid from the package and looked at the blue cake. The colour was because of the ocean, and the little candle was in the form of a dolphin and she was sure she had exaggerated on this but still, she looked at it rather happily before putting the lid back on it and trying to make sure that the living room was spotless, that they had enough drinks, snacks and such for their visitors as well as the girls. She hunched down at Koko's little spot again and patted her behind her ear, it was like a sort of therapeutic way for Hanako as she couldn't see what she had to do anymore with everything that was going on in her mind. Where to start and where to finish was basically the question right now.

Why he couldn't believe it! Finn simply wanted to check on someone he considered a friend, make sure she and her family were doing well and in good health, seeing if she'd need a babysitter for Kai so she and her husband could go on a date for some alone time. After all, even when parents absolutely loved their child, they would need to take a moment to step away and collect themselves once again. He would babysit for some of his co-workers from time to time, sort of like the uncle figure in many of their lives, so it wasn't anything new in the slightest for the radio host! Besides, Hanako was a total sweetheart and he could only imagine that the rest of her lovely family had to be fantastic people~!

What he didn't expect was to be invited to her baby's first birthday party, a delightfully surprising plot twist indeed! So of course, he had to bring a gift for her little baby boy. Showing up to a birthday party without a gift didn't sit well with him, not in the slightest. Besides, he wanted to do something nice for her family as a whole and what better way with a homemade gift they could use in the summer time? That's right, he was going to make the child a cute little hat so that he'd be able to enjoy the summer with a little bit of shade for baby's delicate skin.

Since his name was based on the ocean, of course he would need to do something with a marine life theme of some kind! A good part of him couldn't help but think of putting a stupid whale on it as a little nudge to reference their encounter, an inside joke that might get her to laugh. It could backfire and make her a little frustrated, so instead he did something else! For the design, he went for a style similar to what he and Honey worked on the first time around so he would have a much easier time making it on his own. Of course, he made it out of fabric like the first successful hat, a nice, soft fabric that could still breathe on hotter days for sure and a light sandy color.

There was a blue ribbon at the base of the dome shape, having little pieces of coral, shells and a starfish, which was molded out of clay and painted with care to accent the hat with the starfish placed toward the center. On the side, he had a little clown fish he molded with clay to poke on the side near the bow so it looked like it was peeking out from it as though the bow was part of a reef. The trim of the hat's rim, he carefully painted here and there to make it look like a the tide brushing up to the sandy shores. Hmmm...hopefully they'd like it and it would be something their little one would be comfortable wearing...

Sewing in a little piece of elastic finished in a little hook, it would be able to secure itself in one of the loops so it could be adjustable in the event it was too big. Admittedly, he couldn't help but keep the woman's woes in mind about how quickly her baby is growing...so he made it a little larger than what the pattern originally recommended for a one year old. At least they'd be able to make use of it for a while, right? It wouldn't look too doofy from what he could tell when he did a quick test fitting on a makeshift mannequin head made of news paper, duck tape and saran wrap. Fussing around with it so see if it would be secure enough for a child without possibly hurting them, making adjustments here and there until he felt confident in the quality of this piece as a whole.

Now...he could not resist getting a box with a whale on the top with some dolphins all around the edge! Hopefully if the little joke upset her, the hat itself would make up for it. Carefully wrapping up the hat in layers of blue and white tissue paper before placing it in the box, wrapping it up with a ribbon. "That ought to do it~" So he had his gift all set and ready to go, he felt a little bad that there wasn't enough time to get a birthday card. At least he made a little tag all the same that said Happy Birthday!, signed and if he ever got famous they could sell it for money!

Eh, he doubted he'd get that famous, maybe a quick ten bucks or something? It's not like he went around handing out autographs, let alone requested to do any signing sessions anywhere, so who knew what it was actually worth! Not really something he found himself dwelling on much at all, that isn't why he was living it up with his career. Getting a little closer, Finn made sure to contact Hanako to make sure she knew he was on the way as a little courtesy to her just in case. When he got there, he rapped his knuckles against the door and sure hoped this was the right place!

Oh how time flies. It was Kai's birthday. G remembers this day like it was yesterday. When Kai was being born. How he panicked like mad, stormed into UA to get the finest medic hero on the case. He wondered, does that make Nimue the godmother? Well... in his book, yes. But still, their little baby boy was growing up. He was the cutest and their birthday man was still asleep.
Hana got the cake delivered this time. And G decided not to touch the cake. On one reason, because its Kai's. Other reason? He appreciates the way Hana makes cakes. Nothing touches her level of baking. His taste buds refuse someone elses cake. G watched Hana and Koko interact. He did the dad thing and snapped a photo with his phone. It was something to add to the photo album. A cute moment. Though for Kai, he would get a real camera for better quality. Phones suck.
But as he was musing that, he heard a knock on the door
"Are we expecting someone?" G asked Hana as he appreached the door. Opening it, he saw....
...
Someone completely unknown. Granted G was shit with people and faces and names. For all he knows he met this person and then completely forgot about them
"Hello?" he said slightly confused. Like he didnt know what tone to use. Did Hana call someone?

Hanako was so worried and Kai wasn't even awake at this point, so it wasn't bad. It was probably the anxiety that she would do something wrong again. His first birthday, even though he would probably not remember it himself, she wanted it to be a big happy thing. He was her happy thing, even though he was born a month too early and there were a lot of complications that have been solved in the end and her little boy being now his own tough little character, with humour and a lot of laughs, she was so happy to have him around. But now she felt lost, how did you make a perfect birthday for a baby?! She would just finish her round of cleaning up the impossible, as she had already done so previously and she would just walk around aimlessly. Which was why G was the first one to react to the door and she looked up, "I thought I told you about me inviting Finn. You know, the radio host I met when I went to show for the wedding party and Kai's clothes. He helped me pick out the outfit for today." She was sure she told G while he walked to the door and she pulled her hair a little too harsh but all went well and she quickly followed G to the foyer when her mind got to the point that it made sense to do so.
Did she forget to tell G? No... right? It might be highly possible because she had been so focused on getting the birthday cake on time and that it was perfect and her brain focused on the baby monitor for Kai to wake up and oh god this was nervous alright! She was even slower than Koko who moved out of her little bed and ran towards the foyer. She heard her puppy enthusiastically bark to the stranger while she followed, "Koko, no." She strictly told the puppy, even though she meant it well, she wasn't allowed to jump or bark loudly, it could scare Kai after all and she made sure that she was doing fine but Koko, still being a little coward stood between G's legs looking up to Finn. Hanako finally came about, "Hi, Finn, thanks for coming. G, this is Finn, and Finn this is my husband." Obviously Finn could recognize G from the pictures she had shown him when they met in the mall, but now this was hopefully a good moment and she had her fingers crossed behind her back that this would be going great.

Once the door opened and he was met with a very confused husband of one, Missus Hanako Hajimari, he couldn't stop himself from letting out a lighthearted little chuckle of amusement. Oh dear, that poor woman may have forgotten to inform her husband...plus it isn't like she had a photo with him to show who he was either! What a predicament they had unfolding! Keeping his gentlemanly air about him, the tall fellow inadvertently looming about before Mr. Hajimari. The his radio tinted accent rang true through his every word, he held the cute little nautically themed box under one arm and held his clawed hand out with a pleasant grin, "Ah, Mister Hajimari~! It's a delight to meet you on such a wonderful day~. It's truly an honor to be invited to partake in Kai's first birthday, thank you so very much for having me~!"

Despite his appearance, he held himself with care and would have had a firm, yet gentle handshake to offer Hanako's husband if he were to take his hand with a velveteen texture to his skin. Glancing over to Hanako, he was actually excited to see her again since it was always good to check in on the few genuine friends of his he had in his life. After all, they were like a makeshift family to him, more-so since he hadn't any blood relatives that he was aware of being left in Japan. Most of them were in Ireland, so it got a bit lonely when such a reality sunk in. Hopefully, Hanako's husband would welcome him into the fold of their life and he could have the opportunity to know them better, be there for them and support their little family through his friendship.

Lightly twitching one of those large floofy ears of his before one remained directed at Mr. Hajimari and the other in the direction of his lovely wife, the pair truly were adorable! Though their little puppy, Koko barked at him and the bark certainly rang a bit in his ears, it wasn't enough to frustrate him or anything of the sort! "Ah...I suppose it's one of the downsides with having a mutation quirk such as mine...hnn, hopefully your dear little Koko will warm up to me and we can be friends as well~" Cooing out those words as he spoke about the family puppy with an air of endearment about his tone, he closed his eyes for a moment and held out the box containing the birthday gift for the darling couple's child toward them. "Oh~! This is for your little one, I hope he'll like it~"

Partially reopening his eyes, he rest his gaze upon them and would happily follow them in if he were requested to do so!

Hana said how she told him about inviting Finn. A radio host she met while she went to show for wedding party and Kai's clothes. He helped her pick the outfit for today. He still didnt know how to react when he opened the door, so he gave a shaky and confused greeting. Well, since they were there, he moved aside to their guest can come in "Come in?" he said in the same confused and uncertain tone. He shook his head because he wanted to stop sounding like a lost pup. Normally he'd slap himself but, that wont do in presence of others. G then saw Koko who ran towards the guest and barked cutely at them. Hana told Koko no. Afer that she introduced them. He offered to shake hands with the... Finn
"Hi there... My name is Gabriel or G for short." ok now he sounded better.
The two shook hands ... rather gently at that and the stranger spoke how it was a delight to meet him and uhm... yeah it was fancy speak. G didnt know how to feel about Finn. So far the most dominant feeling was confusion. Its not even neutral, just confusion.
Soon the guest noticed Koko, and remarked that the doggy barking might be a downside to such mutation. G wondered is that why he felt confused. Was it the quirk? God he doesnt know!
The Finn, closed his eyes for a moment and held out the box containing the birthday gift for Kai toward them. He then expressed how this was for their lttle one. After that he partially reopened his eyes.

She did forget to tell him? Oh god, that was horrible and she was just a little bit ashamed that she did it wrong and that she said his name wrong or that Koko barked at Finn. "I am sorry, she is more excited, we didn't have visitors before, except the girls." The girls, had been in the picture that she showed Finn when they were at the mall and she had explained that they were G's adopted kids. God, she should have said Gabriel, she had picked the name with him when he said he didn't like Gabe. Worst wife in the universe. The stress today had mostly to do with the fact that Hanako simply had forgotten and that she felt like it was important, you could describe her today as a woman that wanted everything to be perfect for Kai, even if he was still asleep. She wanted no harm to be done to Finn because G didn't know what to say or Koko enthusiastically barked to strangers, which Hana desperately wanted her to not do at all. But she would just look from G to Finn and from Finn to G and hold her hands against her chest, hoping it was going well. Surely, her first friendship outside the door had not gone well and Elena and G would get along now, as they were going for dinner tonight for Kai but still, she wanted these two to get along too?
As G made no movement when Finn held out the box, Hanako took it and looked with a sudden calm smile on her face at the decoration of that box. It was sea creatures and she snickered a little when she saw the stupid whale that she had said to Finn on their first meeting. It was a funny idea and she looked up at G and little brave Koko who had put her front paws on Finn's leg to get pats, she wasn't barking but her tail was quickly wagging. "Koko, go down." She said, eyeing G to at least take some responsibility when she heard the baby cry and she looked at him again, "Will you go or shall I go?" She said, before letting G go so that she could invite Finn to the living room and put the box on the coffee table, excited to see what was in it. "Welcome to our home,"

It turns out that the offer of a handshake wasn't a horrible notion after all! For a fleeting moment, the radio host of sorts couldn't help but wonder if his appearance was a little off putting to his dear friend's beloved husband. Wouldn't be a first time if that happened, which was fine...nothing he wasn't used to. This was going swimmingly compared to his childhood! At least when he took a moment to introduce himself, he figured that he, like Hanako, had a preference of being on a first name basis?

A...nickname, even? Interesting! "G~! You may call me Finn if you wish~" He wiggled his fluffy ol' deer tail poking out from between the tails of his coat and couldn't help but grin and snicker when Hanako saw the stupid whale. At least she got a laugh out of it! "Oh dear, Koko certainly is an energetic little thing~! At least she'll be able to keep up with Kai when he's old enough, children tend to have so much energy as toddlers~"

Looking down to the tiny puppy bubbling with bravery, resting the pads of her tiny paws upon his legs. "Come now, my dear little Koko, shhh~" Crouching down, he was careful and gentle as he picked up the tiny dalmatian, cradling her with care and softly petting Koko in an effort to calm her down. Poor Hanako seemed to have her sanity frying away over the sheer excitement! As he slowly stood back up, he leaned forward and walked through the door frame to clear it without scraping the top with his horns.

At least they weren't shooing him away... Ah, if both of you would like to check on Kai, I could wait here with Koko~" Standing to his full height once he got in, he kept Koko cradled in his arm, up against his fancy ol' suit, not caring or worrying about puppy slobber.

As Finn and Hana started to mingle, G crouched down to Koko and gave her head pats "Calm down baby. Calm down" he spoke to the pup and pulled her away from Finn, so she wouldnt bug him. But Koko persisted, to which Finn suddenly crouched and started to hold Koko.
The parental duo then heard Kai cry. G looked at Hana and said "I will take care of birthday boy" and thus he excused himself and went to check on Kai. He went to the room up the stair and he went to Kai who he saw in bed and crying "Awww, baby boy. Why are you crying?" G said as he picked up Kai. He held him in arms and shushed him gently to stop crying, trying to calm him down. Once he eventually achieved that, he went to Hana and Finn and Koko.
Once he arrived to the crew, G said "Birthday boy is here!" he held Kai in his arms and kept an eye on him. Finn was holding Koko and G was holding Kai. Its funny how Kai and Koko got along. It was a wonderous surprise. He hoped Finn and Hana mingled as G had a hard time doing so. Hana was the one with more social skills of the bunch

She did not even notice she was holding her breath as she watched the meeting between G and Finn. God it should become fine, she did not want a repeat of Elena her fiasco again, she wanted genuine friends that could come over and be with them both without it being a big deal. Though to be fair, G and Elena were neutral now, they would meet Elena later today. She looked up from the gift that Finn gave her and snickered about the print on it, the stupid whale that she had told Finn about on their first meeting and she nodded, "Oh yea, she basically is his now, my son stole my birthday present." She said and looked at G for their little inside joke as she remembered that G had put Kai to bed on her birthday and Koko had stood next to the little crib to wait for Kai the whole time. It was horrible but it was so cute that it was forgivable as well. She watched how G tried to calm down their puppy but Koko ignoring them, which was actually bad, however lucky for them Finn did not seem to mind. When the pupper was lifted up she immediately barked again and licked his hand and what more she could reach and wagging her tail a lot and Hanako just frowned with worry but she let it be. She should be strict so Koko did not learn that it was okay to do this to everyone. But for now, it was fine.
She touched G's arm softly as she smiled at him when he said he would take care of their birthday boy. She nodded and would invite Finn to the living room which was the door on his right and she would make sure Koko would behave. She would put the box with the gift on the coffee table and would make sure everything was ready. "Anything to drink already Finn? G and Kai will be down soon." She could use a coffee herself, hallelujah and she would get a drink for Kai.
Their son was crying until G managed to calm him down and he would look around with big eyes when he got downstairs, staring at Finn with the exact same eyes as his mother, full of wonder. Hana would come back with the drinks and would put them far away on the coffee table so no little dogs or babies would get it. "Look Kai, you got a present." He totally wasn't spoiled by his parents but getting a gift was something and she asked G to help Kai unpack.

Curious...if he was piecing it together correctly, Koko was the birthday gift her little boy stole! Why...that sounded absolutely adorable, what a delightful little family...

As a matter of fact, that was thoughtful of Hanako's lovely husband, trying to help with the energetic Koko! A fond smile rest upon his lips, it was sort of like a reminder on why he wasn't one to judge based on looks. One doesn't simply look at someone and make assumptions, especially not someone such as himself! Though he was quick like a hero in action to take care of their little baby boy who was celebrating his very first birthday. With a nod to temporarily bid G aideu as he went on the holy, sacred mission of being an amazing parent before turning his attention to Hanako with a bright smile.

"Hnnnn...when I think about it, I wonder if your son has a quirk related to animals?" Musing those words out loud, he shrugged with a thoughtful grin and kept one ear directed toward the area G headed to. It was mostly to make sure that if it sounded like he needed help with Kai for some reason or another, he could tip off Hanako...but all he heard were the faint sounds of a father and his son. It warmed his heart and hoped that perhaps one day, he'd be able to have a family of his own. Preferably an adopted and displaced young one who needed happier days in their life, that felt like something that would be quite suitable to him.

"Ah~! Why yes, of course! Carefully setting Koko down, he just couldn't help but laugh at how gosh darn joyful the little dalmatian was upon seeing the pair from downstairs emerge. Upon reaching downstairs and finding Hana and Finn, Kai looked around. With his big blue eyes he stared at Finn. Clearly this was a new wonder for him. Mommy spoke how Kai got a present. G smiled and nodded. Indeed a present, and he would help Kai unpack.
Now as G was doing that, Koko was excited to see Kai. Ah those two were adorable. It melted his heart into goop G soon opened the gift for Kai and soon heard a question from Finn, where the man asked how did he and Hanako meet. It was funny because it feels like this question has recently come up very often. Well due to recent questioning, he knew what to answer "We met when we were very young. We were neighbours. Sadly, we didnt get to grow up together because well... life had different plans for us. But recently, like 3 to 4 years ago we reconnected and reunited again. And from there we hit it off and here we are" he told Finn. It was the truth, but it was just a slightly short story as he didnt want to bore the man with details He did though turn to Hana and ask her "Hey dear, remind me. Did we reunite 3 or 4 years ago. I always get that year mixed up" which was true. Sometimes the years and numbers overwhelm him and he gets hazy on some details. But as he awaited for his answered. He showed Kai his birthday gift and dedicated the most attention to his son |

It felt a bit more magical to have her son and his first birthday and people to visit and bring gifts. She loved it, it made her feel... like she belonged somewhere. But first things first, she pondered over Finn's question, "Animals?" Why maybe, G used spirit animals, but she swore he had a thing with water when they were in Hawaii and yet... it was hard to say. "All I can consider is that it might have something to do with Gabriel's quirk." And she would follow with the words she hated the most, "I am quirkless after all." She hoped for Kai's sake that he would get a quirk and one that he would love and that he would never feel left out in a world that was developing much quicker then she could believe. She quickly offered a drink, to stop her thoughts from going down the drain about how she hated to be quirkless. "It's like you read my mind, coffee it is." She would get out of the living room shortly to go and turn the coffee machine on and get something else for Kai and G. Trying to find a tray and putting everything on it before getting back to the living room and making sure that the hot cups of drinks were in the middle of the table away from small paws and small hands.
She put her hand and the tray on her hip as she shook her head at Koko. "This is what I mean." She said, trying to not laugh about it as Koko just stared at Kai and tried to remain by his side while on the floor. Their little baby making a little fit with shaking his hands and legs as he tried to lower himself out of his dad's arms to get to their puppy, but all that they managed was for Koko to lick his hands and that was it. Hana took a napkin when they all sat down to clean his hands before opening the box and before he would get his bottle to drink. But after that he would have eyes for Finn and the box on the table that he would try to open (it failed miserably if G hadn't helped). She would get up to get a pair of scissors and she forgot to take al little bib so she would walk to the kitchen also to get her phone and film.
She managed to film the last part where he got the hat out and looked at it and looked up at his mother, he held up the little had and just said "Eh!" She shook her head, "Mama eh!" She would put the stuff down and took Kai from G and put the hat on his head, "You have a hat before, do you like it?" It was so beautiful, the design and the theme, she looked at Finn with a happy smile, "Thank you so much." Kai took it off and she helped him as she sat down again to watch the animals on the hat and just talk to him about it while Finn talked to G. She looked up when she heard G more ask her a question, "Oh ehm, three years ago." They got married and a kid within three years, oh hallelujah. She put Kai back to G as he was much better with ocean related themes. "We grew up together for quite a while though and I think we never forgot each other? So when we bumped into each other... it well was like old times? It just felt like... ehm." She wanted to say meant to be, but that was stupid, they did have big fights as it felt like they were discovering each other and themselves in the relationship as they had to stick together for the sake of their baby and yet that wasn't true. "It felt like a movie to be honest."

IT'S SHOWTIME!
How curious it was when she mentioned that there may be something to do with her husband's quirk, that connection of animals he had...hn...interesting! Quirks were a rather strange anomaly, if he'd dare to say so himself, so it wasn't exactly unheard of and he was certain there were few legends tied to quirks. Albeit a bit newer when everything was fresh and people were trying to figure out what these mysterious powers were to begin with! "Hmm, perhaps so~!" There was always the window of opportunity as he hummed those words out with a thoughtful smile as his friend who shared the same train of thought as him headed off to get them a round of coffee. When she'd taken gotten the gift out of its wrapping and got it all arranged upon the little one's head, he bowed his head for a moment when she thanked him for the gift, "My pleasure~! It was a treat, a joy to make something special for your dear little Kai~!"
These two were absolutely a brand of precious in his book, this couldn't be denied, not for a second. Their precious love story, it almost sounded like a tale he could tell in one of his many audio dramas! How lovely it was to be in the company of two people who loved each other through all these years after the paths of fate placed them upon a detour. A, a pair of star crossed lovers, as one might call this lovely couple! Everything seemed to be falling together nicely into place where the gift was genuinely appreciated, it seemed as though he was being welcomed well enough by his best friend's husband and to top it all off? This Deer Hatter had found a surprising new little friend in the puppy named Koko today~!
Quite eventful, really! "A movie~? Why I suppose it is, isn't it?" With a chuckle and flick of his ears, he looked toward Kai and PHEW! The tall mutant had been so relieved that it fit well and didn't seem like the child was uncomfortable or anything like that while wearing the hat, "OH HO~! Look at little Kai, he seems ready for an outing on the beach, doesn't he? Perhaps an outing to the beach in the near future would be quite lovely for all of you~" Taking a sip of coffee, part of him pondered what exactly was G's quirk? The name certainly came off as familiar...where from was a question that nudged at his mind, though. HM...some people got a little offended about getting asked about their quirks...ah...maybe he'd hold off on it?
After all, this day was more about the child's first birthday, was it not? Of course it was~!

G indeed helped his baby boy open his gift. And he softly smiled when he saw what lied inside the gift box. It was a cute hat. Hana then took Kai from G and put on his new hat. G watched the 2 and thought how adorable they were. Although soon Finn talked to G and thus he replied and answered questions, like when and how they met. But since G was hazy on the years the numbers, he had asked Hana to freshen up his memories. Thus Hana said 3. "Ah yes, thats right. Sure. It was 3 years" G said as he nodded
Time flies and he was just so happy with her. It made him smile. When Hana said it was like a movie, he nodded. He watched Fin interract with Kai and Koko. But he himself didnt interject as he let Finn mingle with whoever he wants. Plus he was Hana's friend and he came for Kai's birthday. G didnt feel he should butt in unless need be. He was content with just seeing his family happy. When they were happy, he was happy. Because if this was like a movie. He didnt want this movie to end. He would replay it or rewind it. Do anything, just not let it end.
