The Odd Couple [Antonio]

He doesn't sound very enthusiastic? Is he just putting up with me…? The coolness of her companion once again proving to a factor that made Miss Crawford feel disappointed, the casual and almost disinterested fashion in which Antonio seemed to follow up on her demand made the heart of the young heroine sink just a little bit, and once again she found herself questioning whether he actually liked spending time with her or was simply too polite to point out that he did not.
Kanna said some guys try to ‘treat you mean to keep you keen’? Is that what he’s doing, or is it something else? A little disheartened by that feeling and certainly not helped by the advice she had received from a girl who shared her green gaze so very closely, having a jaded soul as her source of romantic advice seemed to be leaving the bubbly brit feeling a little befuddled by what was occurring, but ultimately she chose to believe in hope. She hoped he liked her, and if he didn’t, then she would just have to change his mind, wouldn’t she?

“I-I um I don’t?” The endeavour of the emerald eyed enchantress not getting off to the best start however when she was forced to refuse the gesture of the man before her, though the gallantry in his offering her a smoke was significant enough to Chloe that she felt guilty for saying no she could not really accept it, since it wasn’t a habit she had ever in her life indulged.
“I’ve never tried t-them…?” Shyly seeming to confess that fact and feeling a little bit embarrassed suddenly for how rarely she tended to walk on the wild side, the blushing brit glanced to the side and pulled her fingers back through her hair with a sigh as she collected herself, and then felt a little bit flustered once more when the fate of their entertaining expedition was left squarely in her hands.

“W-Well, um, I dunno? There’s a bunch of places we could visit, I suppose?” That perhaps natural given the fact that she had suggested that they go somewhere together but that tendency of to feel suddenly self-conscious around a handsome older man seeming to hamper her confidence at every turn, even though Miss Crawford could think of several places to visit that seemed to be flooded with potential for fun times her waning assurance suddenly made them feel like they might be too silly and childish, and that Antonio might think less of her for suggesting them. Or worse, flat out refuse to visit.
“But um… A-Are you sure you don’t mind me choosing, I mean… W-What if I take you somewhere embarrassing?” That really seeming to make her feel like she was walking some form of tightrope or something, the emerald eyed lass blushed a little as she sought a little assurance that he wanted to accompany her, still feeling out the character this man despite the fact that she had just made a rather feckless choice to spend the day with him. Jeez, she was all over the place right now, and could probably use a little bit of encouragement from a wise elder…

“W-Well, I appreciate your chivalry, at least~?” Smiling and feeling a little bit comforted by the cool consideration of her companion, it was nice for Chloe not to feel like she was a disappointment for refusing the offer of the man before her, and helped to build her confidence a little bit more. Placing a lot of weight in his opinion, more than she probably should have but that the curse of youth and inexperience of course, it felt important to the young ingénue to make a good impression on this man because she was starting to nurse something of a crush on him, and would have been mortified to discover she had upset or offended him in any way. She just wanted him to like her, hopefully in the way she was starting to realize she liked him.

“I-I dunno, what if I take you somewhere that sells cute things like cat ears~?” That and her overall lack of expertise in situations like this why she seemed to be lurching between optimism and pessimism, when Antonio proved himself to be easy-going and amenable to her ideas Miss Crawford couldn’t help but voice a little of her concern about how she might embarrass him, albeit with an increasingly playful tone as she felt that bit more relaxed in her company.
“We might have to try them on, and take selfies and things…” Smiling and smoothing her dress out a little before taking a step closer and leaning forward a little ways so that she might look up toward him cutely, though there were times when the obvious difference in their age and the bubbly brit’s more childish mentality caused her to feel overly self-conscious this was not one of them, and she was happy to indulge a little immature spirit and irony in order to make him smile for her a bit. He looked good when he did, after all.

“I just wanted to make sure you know what you’re in for when you go out with a girl like me~?” Once the little matter of entertainment was settled and the emerald eyed enchantress felt a bit more assured their topic turning to travel, the girl took a couple of steps ahead of her cool companion and even went so far as to wink at him as she found herself getting carried away by her building hype for their day, feeling a certain sense of strength in the fact that she was calling the shots for someone she already thought so fondly of.
“But for a start, I think we should find a bus or something… I have an idea of where to take you now~!” Because of that even more determined to make sure that she showed him a fun time no matter where she had to take him, the young woman giggled and even obeyed an impulse to grab at the free hand of her new friend to tug him along like a little girl dragging her papa behind her, wearing a smile all the while as she marched onward toward what she hoped would be a wonderful day, all while remaining blissfully ignorant of the large list of factors that would likely paint the two as one of the strangest combinations for companionship the world had ever seen…

“O-Oh, you have your own car?” The emerald eyes of the enchantress growing wide as Antonio produced a jangling set of keys, it seemed that the acclimatization to her environment that the emerald enchantress had been through had left her so reliant on public transport that she had completely disregarded more private options, and as such she found herself a little bit bowled over when her buddy from the bench produced such a thing to her. This like the ultimate show of independence and maturity, while Miss Crawford herself was old enough to have earned her own license she had never looked into getting her own car, and as such she could only feel impressed by this simple little fact and also intrigued by the idea of going on a ride with him as well. Just the two of them.

“W-Well, I figured we could visit Shibuya and go from there, really?” Blushing a little bit again when she confessed the locale that she wished to visit, while unknown to her the new friend she had made seemed to assume she wanted to visit somewhere adult in her heart Chloe wanted to pop to somewhere childish and exciting, and wanted to exploit the closeness of Akibahara as well in order to really indulge her geek tooth as well.
“It’s a pretty vibrant place on the whole and kind of an icon of Tokyo?” This perhaps presenting a challenge to a person that the breezy beauty did not know was a member of the mob, would his tough guy mantra be able to handle the idea of getting his dork on with the dedicated damsel beside him? That was perhaps the biggest question that their day would answer, hopefully, but all in good time one supposed.

“But um, I know the traffic can be pretty heavy in the city centre like that, so…” For the time being the bubbly brunette seeming more concerned with his wellbeing than anything else, while it felt a little bit thrilling for Miss Crawford to have a hint of privacy and intimacy with Antonio in the comfort of his car she couldn’t help but mention her worries about their plan to drive in to such a crowded place, because ultimately this day was about him enjoying himself more than anything.
“Are you sure you wanna drive?” Surely no one about to be happy just sitting in the traffic as they fought to access a place by car that most would oddly find more comfort travelling to by means of organized transport, even though there was a strong temptation for her to share a car with him, ultimately the sylphy schoolgirl just wanted to make sure that her companion was well looked after in her company.

“Heheheh, I mean I suppose you could get to most places on foot if you had the time but…” Giggling and tilting her head a little ways to one side as Antonio asked if they might make the journey with no aid other than their legs, Miss Crawford tapped the side of her chin as she pointed out the fact that they could go anywhere through this method of mobility so long as they had patience and energy, and then found herself smiling a little bit as she remembered someone who probably used their feet to get everywhere they wanted to go.
“If you’re OK driving, it’s probably a bit faster?” Finding she was elated for an instant as she thought of the loud lad who seemed to constantly be running around but that excitement seeming to quickly twist into a knot of guilt when she recognised the fact that she was currently spending her day with another man, a man she liked more than she had told anyone, it made her feel a bit bad that she had asked one boy out and then spent the day with another. Like she was being naughty and playing the field or something, but that sense of shame only lasted a minute before she was distracted by something else.

“Is this… This is your car?” The shiny red machine that her older friend seemed to veer toward something that immediately stole away the attention and interest of the breezy beauty the moment she saw it, Chloe couldn’t help but trot on the tips of her toes and gape a little bit as she looked at something that she wasn’t entirely familiar with, but could appreciate all the same.
“It's amazing!” Not exactly the sort of girl who understood the facts and figures of every vehicle on the road but knowing enough about cars to comprehend how mighty a specimen had been presented before her, the heart of the young heroine raced as she thought about speeding around in such a wild looking ride with this man at the wheel, and she wrapped her hands together girlishly as a result as that excitement got the better of her.

“Oh gosh, it's so cool!” The green gaze of the gaping girl looking up from that scarlet splendour only to look at the man who owned her with amazement, although Miss Crawford had already suspected that Antonio was something of a ‘big shot’ from the smart way he dressed himself, without doubt this was a piece of evidence that really sealed the deal for her, and yet seemed to spark a million more questions in her mind about him as well.
“A-And definitely a very dignified way of getting around, I’d say~?” The principal ones among them seeming to regard just what this handsome semi-stranger did for a living to be able to afford such a prime prize to drive around in, while the breezy beauty herself came from a rather affluent background and as such was somewhat used to such luxury she couldn’t help but want to know more, and hoped that she would find out that and so much more if given the chance.

“Heeheehee, this is my first time in a convertible, I think?” Skipping into the seat next to the dashing driver with a big smile on her face and that excitement still sending her heart into overdrive, after clapping the seatbelt across herself like a good girl Chloe looked toward the soul with whom she shared this car, and suddenly became very aware of the feeling of exclusivity and privilege she felt sitting next to him.
“A-Are we gonna go with the top down or um, up?” That and the fact that this striking Spaniard had mentioned wanting to get away from ‘sweaty strangers’ also seeming to make her think of the intimacy that their transport provided as well, as she sat in the seat next to her handsome host she couldn’t help but pull the brown plait her hair was tied in and toy with it nervously as the bubbly brunette asked whether they would be indulging that full degree of privacy the roof could offer, and silently hope that despite the warmth around them he might agree to getting some true one on one time with her…

“Well it certainly is stylish~? I bet you’re turning all kinds of peoples head as you drive in this?” Nodding and agreeing with the sentiment that Antonio put forward about his vehicle, Miss Crawford could only wonder just how many other people seemed to swoon and croon when they saw such an impressive specimen of automotive goodness, and perhaps out of a mix of curiosity and maybe the scantest pinch of jealousy couldn’t help but broach that subject, albeit in a tentative fashion.
“N-Not that um, you need the car to do that?” Quickly correcting that point however when it felt a little bit cruel to say that the only thing about this handsome latino was the car that he drove, though admitting that he had his own charms was the sort of subject that brought some redness out in the cheeks of our lady lead the blushing brit felt it was important to note, since it felt like she should make sure she praised that about him to, even if she did so somewhat clumsily. She still needed to work on her smooth line delivery, huh?

“O-Oh, no, I mean…” A tingle of disappointment sounding out from the heart of the young heroine as her dashing driver professed a preference for proceeding with the top down, in part because she didn’t want to be a pain the green eyed girl quickly forgot her desire and got behind the idea that her brunette buddy had mentioned, and nodded at it eagerly.
“Heheheh, might as well make the most of having the top town? It’s my first time in a car like this, after all~?” Certainly capable of seeing the benefits in the more exposed approach anyway, even though it wouldn’t be quite as intimate as having the whole world cut away from them by the roof it had its charms, and felt rather refreshing a concept on a day like this one to say the least.

“Oh, r-right, sorry…” Quickly left feeling like she was being a somewhat inconsiderate ‘date’ when Antonio requested a destination for the two of them to aim for, as pinkness blossomed in her cheeks once more the British beauty hummed and pulled out her cell phone in order to look up a locale they could move toward, and began to thumb the object as she searched the web for an address like he asked for.
“Given it’s a landmark, I think the best idea would be to find somewhere to park and take in the sights by foot?” Miss Crawford certainly not knowledgeable enough of the endpoint of this little drive to pull such a thing from her mind alone and as such seeming to think out loud as she closed in on Shibuya on the map and began to look for somewhere that seemed close but out of the way enough that they could tuck their ride in and enjoy their day, the foreign femme frowned as she brought up the locale train stations and restaurants, and searched her screen for something that suited her demands whilst feeling at the same time like she couldn’t keep her companion waiting too long for what he wanted…

“Heeheehee, oh that was a lot quicker than the train, wasn’t it~?” Letting out a breath as her dashing driver announced the fact that they had arrived at their first stop or at least the prelude to that, perhaps a part of Chloe was a teeny, tiny bit disappointed with the quickness with which they had seemed to get to Shibuya, but that was hard to notice really given how exhilarating the ride had been on the whole.
“Heheheh, maybe I ended up a little windswept with the top down huh? My hair's a bit of a mess~” Really letting loose and allowing herself to enjoy the feeling of driving around in a beautiful car with a handsome man at her side and the wind in her hair, pinkness shone from the cheeks of the bubbly brit as she caught her reflection and smoothed out the messy bangs she had been left with, but on the whole was amused by her experience regardless of these small issues and hoped that her host felt the same way that she did. It was hard to tell with how stoic he seemed generally, at least when compared to a girl who habitually wore her heart on her sleeve, that was.

“Now, where are we, hm~?” Quickly plucking her phone once more now that they would be leaving more automotive forms of transport and resuming the pace of the pedestrian, Miss Crawford hummed to herself as she brought the map up she had been looking at before in order to get her bearings once more, and narrowed her eyes as she looked at the screen to remember where they were in relation to the target they, or perhaps more accurately she, sought.
“Ah yeah, I see, so… We need to go this way?” Grinning and slipping from the car once she had an idea of the path she should take and then looking toward Antonio with a girlish giddiness apparent in her green gaze, while the time together in the car hadn’t been as intimate or long as she might have hoped for, at the very least it had been enough to help her put some of the anxiety she had been feeling to bed and act a bit more like herself as a result now that she felt a bit more at ease in the company of her quieter companion.

“Heheheheh, I’m so excited, even more so after that ride~?” Perhaps the fact that she felt a bit more comfortable in her skin never more apparent than as she skipped around to the driver’s side of the car and showed her eagerness and excitement by reaching for the hand of her host to tow him along with her, Chloe showed a more honest and girlishly genki side to her as she let her enthusiasm for their task get the better of her, and sough to pull her partner along with her because of it. Maybe she looked a little childish for doing so, like a little girl dragging her dad or brother with her, but right now she was happy to indulge her dorkier desires without feeling out of place for doing so…
