"Yeah, you fucking know it dont'cha~...?!", grinned the blonde, not even wasting a single moment denying it as her eyes narrowed, sharing a complicit look with her mentor as she snickered, all but shivering as the adrenaline rush shot goosebumps to her skin. To think they'd go around speeding through downtown tokyo in the middle of a war, on a trashed car to boot... Kanna couldn't help but bite her lip as she held on to the side of the door, relishing the wild ride to the battlefront and the ravishing driver who took her there even more so. She almost wished she could have enjoyed the ride just a bit longer but alas, they had work to do: "You and me both...", spoke the blonde, sighing softly, on edge as her gaze finally peeled away from the seductive siren at the wheel and towards the tower where their mission would take place, barely hiding a snicker as she added, "Then it's a good thing ya got me here~" Alas, all that cheekiness seemingly faded as the sound of gunfire pierced the air out of nowhere, making Kanna throw herself down on reflex. No matter how tough you are, hearing bullets fly is a whole other kind of fright... But in the end, she couldn't. Not for lack of trying, mind you, but rather because somebody with far faster reflexes had other plans for her - in the end, her eyes shot wide as she found herself yanked closer to her mentor, her face pressed firmly into something soft and supple:
"Mmmmnff...!", Kanna's protests muffled the plush, pliant softness of her Maya's chest. Her mentor had barely broken a sweat, and yet her heady, jasmine scented fragrance filled Kanna's nostrils, leaving her dizzy and weakening any hopeful attempts at breaking free from her vice like grasp, and before long, the vivid redness in her cheeks suddly turning to a fainter shade of blue. Kanna could do nothing but follow her mentor wherever she lead her, and with her last remaining strength, tapping that toned shoulder in submission... In the end though, as soon as the shooting stopped Kanna did what she could to push herself free, hand on her chest, breath ragged as she panted the moment she found herself free enough to do so, "Gah...! F-fuck you almost killed me there...!!" Yet if the blush on her cheeks and the quick leering gaze she gave her mentor were anything to go by, Kanna had serious mixed feelings about the luscious death trap she'd just been locked in, despite being almost smothered by it...

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Whew!” An arm wrapped tight around the terrific teen at her side as she put rubber to the tarmac and tore along whilst taking no prisoners, Miss Murasaki gasped as she flung herself and her star student against a barricade that separated the tall tower of Tokyo and let out a gasp of relief at the fact that she did not find any bullets whizzing past her face, or even worse still; whizzing through her flesh. Looks like we made it, huh…? More panicked than she was happy to let on by that eruption of pyrotechnically charged thunder because of having Kanna with her, while the makeup of her strong and sturdy musculoskeletal system meant that it was like she was running around in a full body version of body armour she knew that her prized protégé lacked that privilege, and as such she felt a sense of fear from the situation she wouldn’t normally have done, which reflected how fond the feisty femme had grown of her fellow femme in the time they had been together. “Oh damn, sorry!” Quickly given a reason to break the tension when the blonde beside her seemed to bellowed in annoyance at what she had done to her, or perhaps nearly done, it was only when the green eyed gal cried out about the position she had been put in that Maya fully recognised it, and she offered an immediate but slightly amused apology for what she had done when she saw how she had half-stuffed her plucky pupil in her chest to protect her as she kept her close. “Looks like I got a bit mama bear with you there, huh?” The teeniest, tiniest bit of pinkness seeming to sprout from the sporty siren’s cheeks as a result of this, while most could readily write off such an occurrence as a simple result of the sprint she had just pushed herself through, the warrior woman knew she was in far too good a shape for that to have affected her in such a way, however one might have been surprised to learn why the ebony enchantress felt a little embarrassment at what she had done. “Hopefully you didn’t suffer too much oxygen deprivation, huh?” The Asian amazon abashed not because of the positon she had held her juicy junior in but more the desperate desire she had shown to defend her, while she was happy to flaunt her form for fun and flirtation she showed that she had more in common with Kanna than she would have immediately let her believe given the hint of vulnerability she felt in admitting how precious her pupil was to her, and covered for herself with a little teasing to distract the teen from exposure that she had been afflicted with. “I’ll be needing that big, smart brain of yours firing on all cylinders for this one, I reckon~?” Instead focusing on her job as she stayed there down on one knee with her gaze trying to make sense of the scene around her, once more Miss Murasaki slapped the body of the blonde but on this occasion settled to rest her palm on the shoulder of her student as she winked at her, and even offered a little praise for the girl in order to reassure her in this trying situation…

Well, Kanna certainly felt safe in a sense... Locked tightly against Maya as such, she had little to fear from external threats, though plenty from the woman herself. In the end, Kanna could only gasp in relief, eyes widening as she struggled for air, actually taking a moment to realize she'd been carried behind the barricade, safe from enemy and friendly fire alike. "Yeah, tell me about it fuuuuuck...", Kanna would have liked to make a cheeky quip about it, but it actually took her a while, grabbing onto her chest as she leaned back against the barricade, slowly catching her breath until she could actually shoot the woman glowering stare, "Didn't know you had it in ya... To get all clingy on me like that~" In the end Kanna could soon laugh off the whole event, and if the way she bit her lip was anything to go by - her gaze wandering down from the wonderful woman's eyes into those deceptively deadly pillows that nearly smothered her - she could have never stayed mad at her... All the more so when she caught a subtle shade that she'd never seen on those cheeks before, making her eyes widen and her smirk in turn. Damn... Seeing that sight almost made nearly dying feel worth it. Gulp... H-Hot damn she looked hella cute there... Was it even possible for such a seductive siren to look this cute...? She certainly didn't imagine so, and soon enough Kanna herself felt a measure of warmth on her cheeks.
In the end, Kanna took her unexpected little 'victory' with surprising grace and elegance for a punkish, tattooed teen, not really teasing her too much over it... Partly out of respect for Maya not exploiting her own, far more common advantage over her mentee... So when the she asked about potential oxygen deprivation, Kanna shrugged it off with a hearty, dismissive laughter, waving her hand behind her, winking at Maya as she flashed her a knowing grin:
"I meeeeans... Seems like I'm at least able to think, so there's that? First off, we gotta meet up with those cops. The sooner we get 'em to stop rushing in the better. They'll just be upping the hostage count.", spoke Kanna, clear and to the point, making it obviously just how much she'd thought on this first course of action, despite not having too long to think about it, "This is a siege. Sieges seldom go well for either party, less so for the one who keeps throwing their troops out blindly."
Not only smart but an obvious student of strategy, Kanna had spent enough time reading the "Art of War" not only as an unmentioned reading material for school - which she clearly thought it should be - but to sharpen her mind for conflict, as expected of anyone who sought a cerebral, well thought approach to battle, no matter what kind. After all, Maya already knew from experience just how seriously Kanna took the whole 'all war is based on deception': "The highest form of generalship is to balk the enemy's plans.", quoted the blonde, literally pulling a line from her favorite piece of study material, raise a finger up to her chin, glancing at the asphalt below for a brief moment before looking up into Maya's eyes and laying out her plan, "So we need to find out what these people are up to in the tower and thwart their plans. And to do that, we needed to keep our presence here a secret for as long as possible, to learn as much about the battlefield as we can during that time."

❝ “Hahahaha, well I gotta make sure my cute little kouhai is safe, right?” Perhaps a little more embarrassed when her emerald eyed ally called her out on her behaviour, though Miss Murasaki wondered if Kanna had caught the colour in her cheeks and managed to guess the reason for it she played the situation as cool as she could as she offered a smirking line to the girl, but even as she did so that redness did not disappear as quickly as she might have otherwise expected it to. “Not every session of ours together will be about me thrashing your ass? Sometimes… I have to make sure that juicy peace stays in one piece, don’t I~?” The warmth and hue staying in her cheeks as she eyes the blonde beauty beside her and felt just a dash of concern that she might have revealed more than she had intended to with her desperate dash for cover, though her body language and words carried that same collected cockiness as usual the feisty fox was a hint flustered beneath it all, and perhaps looking for a reason to reassert herself more fully because of that. “Hahahaha, you can be quite the bossy madam, can’t ya?” Taking that opportunity when her green eyed girl rattled out a battle plan and even a little nod at one of those old scholars of battle as well as she did so, the moment of quietness allowed Maya to calm herself back down so that when the girl was finished she was just smiling at her smugly, her usual self, and tossing around a bit of cheek to make her cute kouhai blush again for her benefit. And something else as well. “You know I’m the one who’s supposed to be giving the orders and wise notes, right?” Clapping her palm down on top of that bright mane with a smirk and ruffling the scruffy strands of her star student’s hair as she teased her, the teacher taunted the teen in a fashion that she aimed to carry more praise than reproach from her tone at what the girl had said, since despite her words it was clear from both the way she spoke and the way she acted she was proud of her protégé’s understanding and coolness under fire. It seemed that bullets didn’t have a patch on what a certain black haired beauty could do to this girl, did they…?

"Suuuuure, that's what it was...", smirked the sarcastic blonde, flashing her that cocky little grin, just because she'd be graceful about didn't mean she'd let Maya get away with it so easily after how much she'd messed with her all this time... And yet part of her couldn't help but rub behind her neck at the words 'cute little kouhai', even if she'd never admit it, merely winking at the equally blushy beauty at her side, "My juicy peach appreciates your concern though~" Hiding behind the barricade as such, the two women had plenty of time to figure out their next course of action, and despite her endless barrage of snark, on some level, Kanna looked at Maya's protectiveness and couldn't help but smile just a bit wider, reassuring to have such an amazing amazon watching her back... And other places too~
"W-what...?", yet Maya's response made her eyes widen, clearly expecting something else out of her clever, clearly well conceived assessment
Blunt as ever Kanna wasn't usually one to sugarcoat it or keep her opinions to herself, much less so if somebody had actively asked for them. At the same time, she didn't usually react this way when someone pointed out that she wasn't expected to be giving orders. Ordinarily she'd just shrug and tell her to do whatever but when Maya called her out, she said something else entirely:
"And you asked for it and everything, goddammit...", grumbled the teen, all but pouting much like how a younger girl might to her older sister, glancing away and crossing her arms as a subtle shade of red drew on her cheeks, oddly enough despite the high tension of the situation that Maya still had such an effect on her. In the end, Kanna could only huff, glancing at her out the corner of her eye and raising an eyebrow, "Then, how do you wanna do this?"

❝ Oooof, got me there, huh? Maybe she’s learning a little more than fight moves from me, eh? It seeming like the dynamic between the duo had taken a step forward as their situation seemed to reverse for a moment and the blonde bore the breadth of bravado and let loose a line that surprised and impressed her mentor, while Maya was tempted to keep that back and forth building between them she chose to respond with a simple smirk instead of that and let the girl have that little win, since it felt like her fellow femme had earned it on that occasion. She was starting to get a little more confident around her, wasn’t she? “Hehehehe, I know, is just…” Smiling as it seemed that the ounce of assurance that Kanna had gained around the Asian amazon didn’t last all that long however, Miss Murasaki gave that surprisingly soft head of hair one last flick before pulling her hand away and looking over the once again blushing blonde as she pouted at her, and found herself licking her lips as she explained the reason behind the sense of teasing affection which the situation had inspired. “Cute? Seeing you as more of a woman rather than someone chasing my ass all day?” Cocking her head as she clarified that it was the contrast that she found between those rare opportunities to see the girl being all smart and strong when compared to her more normal routines that was such a draw, the dark dish grinned as she let her fingertip wash down the fringe of the flustered fox and then her cheek, before lifting that green gaze to look into more fully as she added a note that would tell her star student that she too was growing accustomed to her, and liking the way she had been growing as she did so. “Well, you’re probably right, better to check in with the police than hop the barricade and go in guns a-blazing?” Nodding as she decided that they had dallied with distraction for long enough by this point and then peeking over the barrier behind which she had pulled herself and her protégé in order to escape the possibility of getting shot, Maya narrowed her eyes as she scouted the area in a fashion that was slightly sneaky, before spying something that might have been useful to them both in the form of a command tent that had been hastily erected for the op. “We still don’t know what we’d be up against, and probably would only end up in the crossfire anyway?” Sighing as she did so and then setting off ahead of her plucky pupil in order to introduce herself and find out what the hell was going on, the black beauty continued her path in a stooping position with her knees bent and rear pushed out behind her in order to avoid drawing the attention of their enemies toward herself or the girl behind her without even thinking of the fact that she was being followed, and was probably providing her young ally with the ample opportunity to ogle one of her best assets given how tight she liked her pants…

Indeed, Kanna knew victories like these wouldn't come often, which made her all the more delighted in simply relishing it for what it was... The first of many. It wasn't every day that she actually managed to hold her own in front of her seductive teacher's insatiable teasing, and the thought alone drew a giddy little giggle from her lips: "W-what, I wouldn't around checking out your ass like a pervert all day Maya, c'mon...!", retorted the blonde, defensively, actually blushing a little at that image and nudging Maya as a result... It said a lot about Kanna that she'd understand that in a literal chance, like a desperate horny schoolgirl aching for some action, and her defensiveness even more so... Maybe because she felt deep down that ass was worth the chase, even if she herself was too proud to do it. When she finally got the gist of it, she merely nodded, flashing her a cool smile even as she felt her heart pouding a little in her chest, "...But yeah... I getcha." She had to admit... She didn't actually imagine her mentor would think of her that way, and in the end, she couldn't help but look at her in a whole new light. So she wasn't the only one to think of her teacher a bit more fondly than their educational relationship huh...? The thought alone made her lips widen, all the more so when the girl reinforced that she too saw much of the same plan as Kanna did: "Wow, does that mean I'm getting an A~?", she teased, unable to help herself in the face of such a golden opportunity to drop in a cheeky little quip, or to let her gaze wander down her teacher's torso as she perched herself up to look past the barricade. To her credit, Kanna didn't let that full, eye catching sight distract her for long and promptly joined Maya in peeking past the barricade, "Yeah, and who knows... Maybe the cops will be kind enough to let us use some of their resources. Every member of a strike team has their own personal camera, which is more information than we'd have about what's going on inside there." That said, they couldn't quite hope to solve this by just sitting idly behind the barricades. When Maya hopped over the fence, Kanna got her idea well enough to sit back for a while, watch Maya close the distance between the barricades and the command tent, keeping an eye out for attackers. It didn't look like they were in any mood to shoot randomly down on the streets, so moments after she slipped inside the tent, the hacker too hopped over the tent and retraced her steps, ready to follow Maya in meeting the forces in charge of retaking control of the Tower, and rescuing all the hostages hidden there. What kind of people could they be like...? Even now Kanna couldn't help but feel a certain tinge of uncertainty, as someone whose very name was riddled by trouble with the law... What if any of them identified her as that missing girl from all those years ago...? No way they could, right?

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ “Oh, so you’d rather get an A than some A, huh~?” Smirking at the words of the increasingly cheeky young woman with her, Maya cocked her head and winked at the young woman as she gave a teasing demand for some form of academic ‘carrot’ for her efforts, before offering up a playful little piece of wordplay in order to one up her. “I never knew grades were so important to you~? Or is it just you like making your favourite teacher happy, hm~?” Grinning as she moved toward the tent that she had spied as she looked over her shoulder toward her star student, while the green eyed gal always earned a good score on her reports the woman who taught her couldn’t help but poke fun at her sudden interest in being a teacher’s pet suddenly, and hint that this turn away from being one of the third year’s biggest problem children had more to do with who was educating her rather than what she was expected to learn. “M-Miss, civilians can’t go in here, it’s the command centre! You’re going to have to leave the area, there’s an incident here, and you’re in danger just standing there!” Not even a whole lot of time to trade wicked barbs with the blonde however since she was nearing her target, as the black haired beauty and her buddy drew close to the tent their path was cut off quickly by a man in uniform, which in another circumstance probably wouldn’t be a bad thing. Cops always knowing how to handle themselves and in need of an understanding soul to offer them a chance to blow off steam, while in her vigilante life the ebony enchantress had avoided lawmen for her own safety it wasn’t unheard of for her to befriend the odd soul in the gym and make a sparring partner of them, or even, once or twice, something more than that. “I’m not a civilian, and I know the danger all too well! I’m Ultra Violet; Pro Hero!” This not the issue right now however and the young heroine pressed by her urgency to pluck her ID from one of the pockets in her sleek uniform again, as a man in a hat with his hand on a taser barred her way the sable siren stopped in place and felt a bit of an urge to push right past him given her rush, but decided against it ultimately. “I need to get in there and talk to the officer in command?” Already discussing the importance of cooperation with her student earlier and such bullish behaviour likely to win her more enemies more than friends, Miss Murasaki folded her arms across herself and tapped her foot as the patrolman looked her shiny little card over with a sense of suspicion and a hint of curiosity that told the teacher he hadn’t seen something like this before, and hoped she didn’t have to resort to something a little less diplomatic in order to have her way…

"Is there a reason I can't have both~?", winked the blonde, still riding that bravado, milking that confidence it for as much as she possibly could as she got up from her resting place, hand on her hip... But it was about as short lived as Kanna imagined it might, perhaps even less so as her mentor's retort had her cheeks reddening as the words 'teacher's pet' had the blonde's cheeks reddening, "A-and what about you huh...?! I never heard a teacher who-" But in the end, that playful banter came to an end as the cops got in the way to halt Maya's advance. She'd have felt comfortable once her mentor stepped into the playing field, after all, this wasn't the first playful back and forth she'd had with a more open minded teacher. For now though, Kanna stood silent and close to her mentor as she whipped out her free pass, or rather, her pro hero ID... Kanna had to admit, if there was a perk she was looking forward to getting as a pro hero... That would be it. That ID card could get her in a hell of a lot of places and gave her the authority to do shit her way so long as she got satisfying results in the end... For now though, she refrained from daydreaming too much: "Not bad... These guys got a sick little setup here in such short notice, huh?", spoke the blonde, actually admiring, the myriad of computers, screens, and communicators assembled, all ready for what could prove to be a grueling hostage negotiation session. In the end the cop who greeted him was... Not what Kanna expected, tall, yet bearded and somewhat out of shape, the man was probably not really accustomed to field work anywmore, yet the serious, focused look in his eyes made it quite clear this was far from his first rodeo. And if he was used to hostage situations such as these, he'd probably been brought in as a negotiator. Kanna knew what he was gonna say even before he said it, but nontheless watched the calm Police officer walk up to her mentor and offer his hand: "That would be me. Lieutenant Saito, I'm in charge of this operation.", he greeted, flashing the two women a warm smile despite the tension of the situation, "You might be a bit late for this party though, Ultraviolet: Our men went in a while back, and if all goes well, the situation will be under control at a moment's notice.", despite the confidence in his men, the commander betrayed a hint of anxiety, and no small measure of humility.
He knew he'd sent his men on a risky, dangerous operation, and would have been biting his nails, even with the experience he had, if not for his trust in their abilities. Kanna, for one, could only frown... She didn't but that one bit, but for now, she'd let her mentor introduce herself before pitching in. The Officer, however, took note of her frown, and seemed almost interest to hear it if either of the two heroes had their doubts, or had something to add to the rescue operation... If anything, Kanna could feel glad that the officer in charge seemed mostly welcoming of their assistance, his goal nothing beyond the swift, decisive rescue of these hostages and retaking control of the tower.

❝ “Heh, I’ll take your word for it~?” Escorted into the tent once the officer on the outside was satisfied that she had clearance to be there, as Kanna seemed to marvel at the machinery within Miss Murasaki offered a more subdued response, and felt a hint of tension at where she was standing. All those times having had to run away from the police seeming have inflicted her with a discomfort at being surrounded by them, it felt a little like the dark dish had walked straight into the lion’s den as she saw uniforms around her as far as the eye could see, and several well kitted out people peering over monitors and speaking over radios. “Maybe we should take some notes when we’re done, get you a setup like this back at the office~?” Maybe one at once the odd cop was OK in her in book, but en-masse like this an ingrained tendency told the teacher to be careful, and she couldn’t help but feel like she should be ready to bolt out the door with her blonde buddy at a moment’s notice. Though the man in charge was not what she expected. Not some balls to the wall hard ass, huh? A person with a soft smile and an understated bearing seeming to move toward the pair once the officer had pointed them out to him, Maya couldn’t help but have mixed feelings about this sudden surprise she found within, feeling a bit like she didn’t know where she should stand with a person like this. Hadn’t expected a friendly welcome here? Weird… Almost feel disappointed? Some militant major of the law likely to invite a greater sense of tension from her, the stubbly faced figure that the ebony enchantress found seemed difficult for her to get a read on, and as such she felt on edge despite his apparent inoffensiveness. “I’m sorry to say that the sound of gunfire earlier didn’t exactly put me in much of a ‘everything is under control’ type of mind set?” Perhaps a hint of that tension seeming to show as the black beauty responded to the man in charge in a fashion that was a little bullish and almost confrontational, Miss Murasaki left a hand on her hip as she titled her head with a slight frown and commented on the scene that they had arrived of with a sense of unease, and certainly didn’t seem her usual buoyant self as she did so. “Not to mention, I think you’ll wanna talk to my partner here… I think she knows something you don’t?” Guided by her urgency and showing a more serious side to her character than she usually might have because of it, though this Saito character might have been feeling calm and confident the plucky pro wasn’t, and had something of importance to raise with him. However, as suddenly a sense of commotion seemed to seize the tent and several gasps seemed to spread from the monitors in the room, one would have to wonder if she would have the opportunity before it was too late?

"Daaamn... Are you tryina sweet talk me or some shit~...?", Kanna replied, raising an eyebrow, almost doubtful that such an offer could ever hold true in the end, but the gleeful, giddy grin on her face made it all too clear... ...The hacker herself certainly wished that was the case, looking utterly entranced by the idea... At least, she would have if not for the chance to examine something like this up close. Amidst her mentor's exchange with the man in charge, she found herself looking left, then right, out the corner of her eye, all but tapping her foot with impatient eagerness to examine the kind of setup the cops had around here up close. She spotted quite a large number of monitors showing live feed from different cameras, which she quickly understood to belong to the strike team who went into the Tower. Now that's something she'd like to get her hands on...
"We struck as fast as we possible could. Right now, we still have a chance at catching the enemy off guard.", the man frowned. For all his almost welcoming calm, the man seemed utterly confident in his decision, despite the danger of having sent his men to their death, he clearly believed they had the upper hand here. That said, he wasn't so single minded as to automatically dismiss, "Oh...? Do you know something we don't, miss...?" Yet for a moment there, only a single word captured the blonde's attention... Not in a million years would she have expected her mentor to address her as partner. Even sidekick would have been a stretch, but... She'd understand that... Instead, her eyes shot wide as that faint hint of redness returned to her cheeks, and for a brief moment she once again felt her heart pounding in her chest. It "Oh, Binary.", she replied, hastily introducing herself, shaking off her hesitation, narrowing her eyes as she focused on the task at hand, pushing aside the thoughts of partnership as she explained, "Yeah, so, uh... I'm 80% certain you're dealing with a hacker on the enemy side. And if that's the case... That shooting you heard back there is only the beginning. You need to pull your men out now. They already know you're coming, and I'll bet you they already know every move you make." The man narrowed his eyes, looking straight into hers until even the cool, collected Kanna couldn't help but gulp, hoping he'd believe her... She hardly recalled the last time in her life she cared this much whether someone would accept her words... Was this what it meant to know lives would be lost if he didn't? Like him, she too had complete and utter confident in her assessment, and thankfully, happened to be dealing with someone open minded enough to at least humour the possibility... But that didn't stop him crossing his arms as his brow rose: "And how on earth would you know that...?", he inquired, eyeing her with a the piercing, inquisitive gaze of a seasoned Inspector, making it quite clear that even though he accepted that what she said could be true, he wasn't the to follow blindly.

❝ “Like I’d call you something shitty like a ‘sidekick’?” Cocking her head and smirking at her prized pupil as she seemed so flattered by the title that she had chosen for the teen, Miss Murasaki grinned as she spied the redness in Kanna’s cheeks and felt assured by it, and probably had she not been where she was might have gotten a little frisky with the young fox as well. However, even the black beauty could see that this was probably not the best circumstance for her to pounce and slap that ass, what with there being a good dozen officers of the law ready to take note of that, and they had more pressing matters to attend to as well. “My star student deserves the respect she has earned?” Ultimately finding the terminology that the hero association gave to its junior officers not only lacking for imagination but also feeling like they were rather belittling as well, the plucky pro had a certain pride in the people she kept by her side that meant she would use no mere buzz word to refer to them, and instead preferred something that carried the esteem of their position. Sure she was the leader of this two person squad, but anyone on her team was a comrade that the great Ultra Violet had chosen to ally with, and as a result could count on both a sense of assurance in their role and her protection because of that. Because you’re more than just a pretty face, right Kanna? It seeming that her perky protégé was ready to prove that point and show why she had earned the respect of the rowdy raven almost immediately afterward as well, as the brainy blonde beside her stepped forward and began to talk her teacher smirked and looked toward her green eyed gal with pride, and kind of enjoyed how she seemed to put these trained officers of the law in their place from the get go. Unfortunately though, it would seem that she did not have much time to enjoy such a show for long. “S-Sir! Sorry to interrupt, but we have a problem! Another one of the officer’s body cams have gone down?!” All too quickly it seeming that an urgent voice seemed to pipe up within the tent and call for the attention of Lieutenant Saito with an inherent sense of panic in their tone, as they did so all eyes including Maya’s were drawn toward a wall of monitors that had been erected somewhat hastily on one side of the tent, and one of which seemed to now by blanked out by a monochrome dance of white and black as a signal was cut from it. For the moment at least. All too quickly the companions of that one snowy screen seeming to grow envious of its new appearance and follow suit, one by one the screens seemed to switch from some dimly lit environment of walls and doors and show rather a strong contrast as their images turned bright and ill-defined, but the chance wasn’t good news. Rather, it was worrying for all in the tent, the dark dish included…

"A-ain't gotta give me the hard sell anymore~... I'm already pretty fuckin glad I chose you...", despite the red cheeked look plastered on her face, Kanna couldn't help but smirk, almost confidently as she professed the most earnest words of appreciation she'd ever given her mentor. Looking into her eyes like that, after hearing those words... It almost felt as though she could see her in a whole new light, and yet, deep down, Kanna always knew. And this was exactly why she'd chosen her... And that's exactly what made the untimely interruption all the more irritating. As the cameras started shutting down, she rushed over the operator's table. Naturally, the cops weren't too keep to let her, two of them stepping in the way. Yet as all the more cameras went dark, the weaker resistance shocked cops could offer, feeble and dishearted, and the easier Kanna found it to ignore them entirely
"What now?! Get outta the way, before it's...", grumbled the blonde, pushing her way past them, typing away at the first keyboard she could get at, letting the sparks fly off her fingertips as she activated her quirk. Whoever this guy was, whatever quirk fueled this relentless foiling of each and every tactic in the police handbook, "Tch...! Too late...!!" Kanna knew all too well, so long as all those questions remained unanswered, any chance of triumph in the tower remained terrifyingly tenuous. On the plus side, the police no longer doubted her words. Whatever efforts the officers might have mustered to keep the mysterious minx away crumbled almost instantly, until even Lieutenant Saito would have told them to let her pass had they not taken that very same initiative without needing to be ordered... Thankfully, it almost seemed like their nemesis had been woefully eager to introduce himself. Before long, all the screens lit up once more... But instead of camera feeds, they had a masked criminal, his choice of mask that of a famous moustache wearing painter from a bygone age, a less than obscure reference to a widely famous TV show from that era... And Kanna merely rolled her eyes... "I swear if I see another piece of shit chump with that mask, I'mma fuckin kill 'em.", grumbled the blonde, barely loud enough for her mentor to hear, and yet more than enough for anybody to catch the exhasperation plastered on her face. She had too high a regard for the mask and what it stood for to watch it defiled in the hands of a common criminal, more than enough to make her brow twitch. That mask had a powerful meaning, and that was exactly the reason everybody and their mother loved wearing it before going toe to toe against the police... But few of them actually understood the weight it carried, the symbol of resistance: And those who didn't pissed her off the most. [attr="class","text-shadow"]"Good evening, detectives.", the predictably voice changed words pierced through the restlessness inside the tent like an arrow through the heart, making each and every last law enforcement officer look on wide eyed, panicked at the thought of someone who'd clearly outsmarted them at every turn, [attr="class","text-shadow"]"Dear me, it seems to me like you're having trouble... Allow me to assist you."
Even Kanna found herself gritting her teeth as the man moved away from the camera, showing a clear shot to the strike team members, bound and rounded up in chairs: [attr="class","text-shadow"]"Say hello, gentlemen.", spoke the mastermind, his smug tone aggravatingly palpable even through the voice changer... ❝ Who’s that supposed to be? Showing that perhaps she wasn’t quite as well cultured as her juicy junior as the mask that the hijacking host wore to obscure his identity was so niche that Miss Murasaki did not recognise the figure it represented, the dark dish could only narrow her eyes and watch with a sense of mystification as the mastermind greeted them with a distorted voice and a false sense of decorum, and silently bided her time as she observed what was going on. Some kinda cartoon character? Not the type to pay much attention to classes on culture and hardly a sterling enough student of art to recognise even a crude representation of the man at the head of the Spanish surrealist movement, instead she could only guess that this figure was from some form of animated form of entertainment, and if she was au fey enough with video games might have guessed the figure was from one of those retro-styled titles, since the design seemed to be steeped in elements that resembled the earliest days of a mouse named Mickey or a bunny named Bugs. Not that she would know this, as was the price for her outdoorsiness. Damn, looks like they didn’t do the bang up job that they were hoping for? Simple writing her observations off as unessential to the investigation as the combined cameras seemed panned out and show the captured members of the strike team now bound to chairs and seemingly gagged as well, as the strangely voiced figure called for them to answer the group glanced between each other, but none of them seemed keen on even offering a muffled hello. At least not until they were given a little encouragement by someone who dipped into the camera a moment later. Gorilla mask seems steeped in irony of a man that size? A broad figure easily the size of the clawed crook that Maya had taken down earlier if not bigger seeming to step into view as they held their tongues and tug on the officers heads until they gave incoherent groans of unpleasant association, the eyes of the ebony enchantress narrowed as she looked at this bulky figure still wearing a prison jumpsuit in which one could probably house a small family, and sporting a mask that grinned with the spirit of Harambe, and sensed he could definitely be trouble. There was just something about him, the way that he carried himself with assurance, that looked oh so familiar and threatening at the same time. “As you can see your officers are unfortunately indisposed, but comfortable, for the time being at least?
We have no interest in hurting them or any of the hostages more than we already have done, and provided we get what we want my friends and I see no reason as to why our disposition should change?” The camera seeming to smoothly pan back to the leader of the pack once it had shown the leverage that these fools possessed, as it zoomed out presumably to afford the host the chance to show a little more theatricality as he spoke one could see that the head honcho himself was also decked out in that one piece garb that was all the rage among the incarcerated souls of Fuchu prison, practically confirming their origin. However, as the conversation and light hearted delivery of threats continued, there were plenty more details about them to digest, and not all of them would be wholesome. “And on that matter, I’d say you’re a very lucky man today, Lieutenant Saito?
Since we’re in a bit of a hurry all we’ll ask for is a nice, fast helicopter to take us away and the modest sum of a few billion yen to share between us as recompense for the time we have so unjustly spent in prison?
Surely a price worth paying when one considers the fact that we have the lives of some of your best men, and several dozen innocent civilians in our hands, no?”

In the end, it was the commanding officer who spoke up first, hand resting on Kanna's shoulder as he walked past her and sat down. With an impressive, awe inspiring ease and naturality, cool and to the point, he addressed the overconfident criminal as though it was merely another day at the office: "You have a strange defenition of luck, don't you?", he spoke, grabbing the communicator, eyes narrowing as he took a seat in front of the monitors, "Lieutenant Saito speaking... Well, you leave me in an awkward position here, knowing my name. What should I call you. Though I'd understand if you'd rather remain nameless.", he spoke, letting out a soft sigh as he rubbed behind his neck, all but wondering if the perp would answer... But when none came, he promptly dropped the pleasantries and placed, "...Well, no matter. Let's negotiate: I can't give you any of those things unless I believe you'll keep your word and release the hostages." [attr="class","text-shadow"]"...I'm gonna cut ahead and save you some time here... There's nothing to negotiate: Instead you should think about the fastest way you can get a helicopter here. Hmmm, maybe you'd need some help figuring it out...? Very well. You have 30 minutes." At that moment, even a skilled, hardened negotiator couldn't help but tense, eyes widening as if he knew what his foe would do next... And he wasn't the only one. Kanna's eyes narrowed as she hung close to they keyboard, as if antecipating what a hacker's next move would be. Thankfully, it looked as though he had no clue there were two heroines in the tent, already joining the fight. "Wait...!!", and then it happened. One by one, each and every screen went dark. Lights shut down as the panicked chatter grew louder, and even the calm and collected cop lost his cool, smashing his fist onto the table, "Shit!! ...That little... He played us like a fiddle." Kanna chewed her bottom lip, eyes turning back to Maya's... If she looked at her pugnacious pupil, she'd probably tell she had some trick up her sleeve. But as the seconds passed and more officers stood biting their nails, the less it felt as though anybody could come up with a solution. And yet, the moment exactly 60 seconds passed since the tent went dark, one by one, all the computers started coming back to life, and Kanna let out a subtle sigh, running a hand up her forehead. Whatever trick she'd pulled back there had paid off: "Not all of us~", she spoke as a knowing smile drew on her lips, widening as she saw the all the screens lighting up with a hopeful, almost reassuring glow, "I was too late last time but... I'll be damned if I let that prick have his way twice." Their foe wouldn't turn off the cameras... They were his eyes, after all, he wouldn't willingly blind himself as such unless he felt truly backed against the corner. But right now... The kidnapper must have felt he had them on the ropes, right at the cusp of seizing victory. And right at that moment of near triumph, he'd inevitably drop his guard.
