The fire blazed. Oh, how did it burn! Even from where the students stood, they could could feel the heat of the flames licking at them. Thatched roofs curled and buildings began to smolder in the distance before them. Shrill screams rose from the pyre. Actors dressed in renaissance styled clothes shuffled about, moving with haste away from the blaze, some covered in black soot. “ The fourth of September, 1666!” The announcer’s voice boomed seemingly from every direction; the actors paid it no heed. “ The Great London Fire blazes with no end in sight.” As if on cue, the students would be able to hear an echo of the cracking and crumbling of timbers as one of the makeshift buildings collapsed in the distance. “ The untold hundreds that died in the blaze never had the heroes of tomorrow! Your goal is simple, save as many as possible and treat them to the best of your abilities! Each team has been given a triage tent in their respective areas; the quality of care given will have a direct bearing on your scores. Direct interference with the actions of the opposing team is strictly forbidden and will result in harsh penalties for the offender! This challenge will put all of your skills and instincts to the test! You have two minutes to prepare. Good luck, heroes!” The announcement would end with an audible click as the announcer microphone was cut off. All that would be left was the roaring inferno before them.
Huang was sweating bullets as he kept to the waiting area, quickly chugging down yet another liter of premium gasoline. He felt like he was going to explode from the heat alone! The high octane fumes that leaked from his mouth seemed to bend the air in front of him. “ You shouldn’t eat that much before something like this! It’s bad for your stomach!” Fan put a hand on the boy’s shoulder to get his attention, but all he would give in return was a sideways glance towards her. “ I need more fuel pressure… more...” The moth girl was quick to retract her hand and crossed her arms, puffing out her cheeks a little bit. Huang merely turned around to glare at her, while also crossing his arms " No pressure, no going fast, got it?" “ Eugh, you’re so creepy sometimes!” “ Heeeyyy guys shouldn’t we be getting ready?” A smiling Jin put her hands behind her back while she beamed at the duo. “ You can get into a spat any time except for right now, okay?” Her words were kind, but carried with them a commanding weight. Fan and Huang would exchange glances for a moment before nodding back to Jin. “ We reeeeaally should be planning our next steps!” “ Fiiiine.” “Yeah.” “Great! So I was thinking…”

Fancy us meeting like this~? ❝ I’m so glad we’re not up against the Valiant team… Letting out a breath to try and calm her nerves but still not feeling like it did all that much for her ultimately, the usually high-spirited Chloe Crawford found herself feeling apprehensive of what she was to face, and because of that opted to focus on the ‘bright side’ of the challenge that she faced as she waited to be called out for the challenge ahead. Even in something like this I’d hate to go up against friends? Dressed in a uniform that still felt a little bit weird on her, as she reached around to the back of her head and made sure that her long locks were secured properly in a nice tight braid the young brunette couldn’t help but thank the stars that she wasn’t about to compete against people that she knew, especially in light of her current position. I was worried they might call me a traitor or something, when I came back for this? The reunions she had shared with her former schoolmates doing much to reassure her that they didn’t hold a grudge for the green eyed girl transferring to another hero school, despite this the British beauty couldn’t help but feel she would have found things incredibly awkward if she had to go up against people she liked, and had been relieved to be informed her own little activity would be conducted with the opposition of the Chinese ‘neighbours’ of UA academy. Nice to know that they didn’t? This relieving her a little bit and also helping the young heroine to feel she could do more of her best effort in these things, even though competitive spirit wasn’t something she usually tended to show, given the format of what awaited her she had found her arm being twisted in one way or another. I hope I do OK? This feeling like a perfect chance for the ‘hometown girl’ to practice what she wanted to do in future, despite the fact she had avoided the head to head tournament since she didn’t really see the point in needless violence, this seemed different. I suppose it’s fine if I don’t but… I wanna prove my hard work hasn’t been for nothing? On course for a ‘battle’ to see who had the best skills in rescuing and helping others between the two Asian nations represented at this exhibition, Miss Crawford hoped that she would prove she was up to snuff both to others and herself, and offer up a nice little ‘yardstick’ for her development for any to look at. I wonder how Kanna is getting on? Inevitably thinking about the other events as she considered her own and that path of her mind seeming to drift toward those who were competing in them, even though Chloe knew that she was probably supposed to be focusing herself on the task at hand she couldn’t help but wonder what her blonde buddy was up to right now, and oddly found just a little bit of comfort as she thought of her. I’m sure she’ll do fine, she’s Kanna, after all… The rough natured and rebellious roommate she had found at UA feeling like she was equal parts her polar opposite but also a source of great admiration, the beleaguered brunette let out a sigh as she thought of the classmate to whom she had become so close to of late and felt a little better as she pictured that defiance and determination, and hoped that in some way she might live up to the standards that she set in the event to come. “So um, looks like it’s almost time for us to start?” The ounce of inspiration that she felt from Kanna seeming to help her summon a little confidence or in the very least the voice of the vixen, Miss Crawford let out a sigh as she opened up the pouches on a band around her waist and then spoke up as she rifled through them, sharing her attention between this task and the people that accompanied her. Thumbing her way through a few little pockets upon her belt as she looked to the duo that made up UA’s rescue team to make sure she had all of her first aid supplies ready, while the emerald eyed entrant knew that there was no reason for any of her kit to be missing her anxiety compelled her to double check, and once she had confirmed all her stuff was there she let out a short sigh and looked to her comrades with a clearer sense of clarity in her eyes. “Are you guys ready for this?” Not really knowing either member of her team all that well really but at least one of the souls with her someone whom she was reasonably familiar, Chloe showed a sense of consideration toward one of her companions as she spoke by lifting her hands from her belt and making a few clear gestures for her fellow femme to catch. “Let’s try to do our best, OK?” At least a little relieved to know that her art club buddy Chikako was here even if she didn’t know the other guy, hopefully this little bridge between them would offer the trio a better hope at teamwork, since she expected there was no way that any of them were going to do well in a ‘job’ like this one alone…

Fire. Haruto didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. Whether it was the burning circus or his more recent internship with Nakahara-sensei, fire seemed to be more and more common in his life. But that just meant... He was getting a crazy amount of practice with it! And with this being a situation where no one was in real danger, with pro heroes from around the world watching from above... He could relax, and show off his abilities to the fullest! Both the ones he had had since the beginning, and the new ones he had picked up along the way!
The white haired boy was dressed in his hero costume... If it could be called that. In truth, he had just pulled a bargain store lab coat over the grey blazer of his school uniform. He tried not to think too much about the fact that the stains in it had been removed by his quirk. After all, his quirk triggered on a lot of things that weren't especially harmful... As far as he or anyone else knew. Rather than second guess the exact ld50 of the substances his body diagnosed as harmful, he would just chalk it up to the human body being fallible. More than anything, he was just glad it only trended towards auto-immunity when completely overworked!
"Hello, it's good to see you again," He would nod towards Chikako, a girl who he was not especially familiar with, but had teamed up with before in the last year's sports festival. Unfortunately, he was no better at sign language than he had been then, nor did he have anything to write with... In short, he did his best to supplement his words with what little he had picked up, and was fairly confident that he had not just insulted his schoolmates' mother.
As for the third member of the team... She was familiar with Chikako, and signed better than he did, he noted with relief. He would feel terrible if it was like last year, and Chikako struggled to keep up with the plans they made through no fault of her own. "Nice to meet you, I'm Shimizu Haruto, of the support class." He would introduce himself as they awaited further instruction. Which would not take long, the announcer quickly bursting into the historical context of the event- For his part, Haruto was gripped. He had heard of the great London fires before, of course, but never in any detail. This event was about learning the history of their host country, as much as it was to display their growth!
Haruto was nothing if not an honor student.
But with the explanation handled, they only had a short time to prepare before the world would burst into action. Haruto nodded. Chikako would be familiar with his quirk from last year, but as it had been a year, he decided to explain it again for both her and their third member. "With my purification quirk, there's no need to worry about smoke inhalation. If you ever breathe in too much, or find a victim who has... Get them to me and I can take care of the rest!" He was happy to explain. While in the past, smoke would have brought him to his knees, even not as thick as this... It seemed he had grown more than he ever knew.
However, not wanting to spend the entire planning period talking about himself, he left it there. His other talents were not nearly so unique, and as such, did not need to be planned around. He could shift rubble, and even fly to places unreachable by land... probably. With Tsutsuji-sensei's help, it should work in theory... But no matter how little nerves he should have, he couldn't help but worry. It would be one of his last chances to show the world what he could do, and he intended to make the most of it!
Which was why, in response to Chloe's question, he would reply- "You know what? I think I am." After all... It wasn't his first time doing this. All that was left was doing his best! "Would you two rather split up or stick together? If we split up, we can cover more ground," Especially with the rules forbidding conflict, there would be no need to worry about being ganged up on. "Or if we stick together, we can make the most of each other's skills if need be." While he didn't know what the other two were capable of, as he had said... His purification ability was unparalleled when it came to dealing with the complication of smoke!

It was better then having to fight, but to say Chikako still was not terrified would be an understatement of the century. Chikako still hated these type of events, even more so since they were broadcasted to the world like some t.v show for millions to judge her. However, she showed up all the same, in the end. She was dressed in quite the stunning angelic dress, with fake wings on the sides of the dress; something her designer did ironically since her quirk was literally summoning a demonic looking being. Demon and angel combo, more or less, was the idea behind the dress.
"H-hi", she said with her toneless and hard to understand voice, towards Haruto someone she had worked with during last years event and Chloe, a new member to the art club that she has participated in for a while. She let out a sigh of relief, that she at least semi-knew the people that she would be paired with today. She looked down, looking at iron maiden her transforming shield that was on her hand. "U-um, my quirk is more fo-for combat, I summon a durable...um demon...that can destroy and ...is durable so I can handle the rubble... maybe", she bite her lip and looked at the floor. "U-um though my demon takes all damage I um do....and any damage he takes I do", she added on as she began to sway her body side to side as she was growingly getting anxious and gulped. "U-um sorry to be a burden, being I am to0 cowardly to do combat stuff, but um I will try my best to not be um...useless", she said as she gave them a nerve-filled smile for a second and looked back at the floor as she went back to swaying back to back.
(300ish words)
TLDR: Chikako shows up in her costume, nervous and scared like always. She tells the two what her quirk does, being a summon that can dish damage and take damage; offering herself up as the person to clear rubble and nonsense up. Says one of the many weaknesses of her quirk and apologizes for being a burden in her mind!

"We're all in agreement, then?" Jin held the other two students in their little huddle by the shoulder. Might have been a bitter start but a good bit of good attitude and elbow-grease could fix any sourpuss right up! Fan enthusiastically nodded her head at the plan, but something about the way Huang was standing gave Jin a hint of anxiety from the boy.
"I don't know. Seems risky?" Haung bit the inside of his cheek, he guessed it might have been okay. With more fuel he was certain he could do the entire thing by himself, though.
The very fact that Huang was concerned got Fan a bit worried, perhaps this plan wasn't that great after all? "Yeeeaaahhh... I guess?" Jin's eyebrow twitched a bit at Fan's response. Were it not for the fact it was against her personal code of contact she would have sworn at her! Geez!
"Well, I mean, it's the only plan we have, isn't it?" The lot of them stood up straight from their huddle.
"She does have a point." Fan glanced over to Huang, who already had his eyes trained on the blazing inferno. "I don't like the idea of getting my wings burned off but..." She shook her head a few times
"Well, no, I could j-"
"Huang you'll get yourself hurt like that, we have to work together, okay?" Jin plead with the obstinate boy. He looked rather non-plussed about it, but that was the same expression he carried all the time.
The boy paused for a while, before he would turn his gaze back to Jin and sigh. "Fine."
The pink haired girl clapped her hands a few times, proud that she was finally able to wrangle the both of them in! "Great! Let's do this guys! Yuuei won't know what hittem!" She raised a fist to the air.
"Yeah, let's go!" The enthusiastic response may have won Fan back over, but Huang still seemed a bit hung up on it. He wasn't concerned for himself, though. He wasn't some fragile meatbag. He knew he could go the distance. He wouldn't say anything so late, but he felt that there was a major flaw in the plan that had been laid out before him. He would follow it until it proved itself wrong.
The rumbling blare of a low-pitched siren blasted about the starting areas for several seconds, leaving the roaring inferno beyond as little more than a murmur in comparison, even one of the passing actresses would break the facade to cover her ears for just a moment before she would force herself to pretend like she heard nothing.
"Time's up, heroes, brace yourselves!" The words hung and echoed about them, the distinct crackling fire would have a good second to fill their ears once more before the official count-down began!
"Ten...nine...eight..."
Jin took in a deep breath. As she placed a hand on the ground to brace herself She spied her destination quite quickly, and glanced over to Huang, who gave her a nod, and then to Fan who did the same. Yeah! It was definitely their time to shine!
"Seven...six...five..."
In a bunker some meters under the stage, a man sipped on his coffee. If he had been told that this was the kind of VFX and pyrotechnics stuff that he would be working on after college he would have had a heart attack, but all of that was done. Now all that was left was to be the cruel game master! He shouts a few commands to the army of workers running the operation, a wicked smile stretching across his face as the timer approached zero.
"Four... three... two..."
A masked man sits alone in his room. He has a special job today. He wiggles his fingers, reaching out with all his might. His job was definitely going to be a stressful one. But, oh, they insisted this would be cheaper than the alternative! The worse part about it was that he couldn't make the administrators eat those words! Humph!
"One! Start!"
The Fenghuang kids would be off with an explosive start! Jin would leap high into the air, getting herself on top of one of the replica houses before launching herself further towards the inferno! Huang's engine roared loud enough that the group from U.A. would be able to hear against the fiery background! He took off like a speeding bullet towards the burning 'London' zipping around blocks of houses, other such buildings, and straggling actors with ease! Fan took off soaring into the air behind them. The updrafts from the fire alone made her flight turbulent, she would have to get lower eventually, but she hung about the air behind the others. For now, she would keep her eyes peeled the best she could.
The fiery inferno laid before the UA students, the faintest hint of screams rising from the flames, begging for salvation. Now was the time, there were blokes to be saved!
As the first of the UA kids would start to approach the edge of the inferno, a voice would cry out to them!
"Help us! Help us!" The voices were definitely those of children! "Mummy won't wake up! We're scared!" A pair of children waved out an open window, trying to flag down the approaching heroes!
Meanwhile, further down the street, a man with fringed hair and smoldering clothes would try to carry a dog from a burning home, only for the cracking of timbers to catch him by surprise! The dog would yelp as he threw the animal with all his might, and, try as he might, he would not be able to get out on his own! The house would begin to collapse on top of him! The dog could do nothing but bark at the pile of rubble that was building atop his master!

Fancy us meeting like this~? ❝ “It’s nice to meet you, Haruto~” Nodding and smiling toward the new face, Miss Crawford offered a handshake to the seemingly polite young man as they waited for the event to finally begin, and felt a little glad for the distraction that her companions offered to her in these tense moments of anticipation. “Smoke hopefully shouldn’t be too much of an issue for me, with my quirk I can make a ‘bubble’ of air around my or others heads to protect them from the worst of it? But it’s nice to know we have options?” It definitely useful to know that this white haired lad had some form of medical ability and reassuring as well, the British beauty nodded at his offer and shared some details of her own quirk, which she too had honed for situations just like these and was confident could be a benefit to them. “Hmmmmm… I’m not sure, honestly?” The fair femme frowning a little when the matter of ‘team tactics’ came up, though Chloe could readily see the value in either option she lacked the clarity of understanding toward the trial that awaited them to make a clear decision on which avenue to pursue, and as such thought that it might be better to react to what they were up against rather than pre-empt some situation and found themselves out of their depth. “I think it might be best to play it by ear, so to speak… Stick where we can see each other and split up if the situation demands it? Work the scene flexibly?” It definitely sounding like they would probably get more done if they worked separately but the rescue training she had done always reinforcing the idea of having someone to ‘watch your back’ so to speak, while a frenzied effort of separation might yield greater results it was also a risk, and could turn out badly if they were caught off guard by something. “Wow, that’s some outfit, Chikako~” A little bit taken aback when she saw the grandeur with which her art club cohort was dressed, all too quickly the school issue tracksuit that she was wearing seemed to pale by comparison in the mind of Miss Crawford, and she readily commented on her approval of such apparel with a smile that was meant to reassure. “You look lovely~” Still somewhat indecisive over her own outfit since she wanted something that felt functional though perhaps with a little flair like her friend flaunted, the bubbly brunette beamed as she complimented what she saw, and silently wondered who might have designed such a beautiful ensemble for her. “Heheheheh, I don’t like fighting either, so I suppose that makes us both cowards?” Certainly empathetic to the concerns of her fellow femme as well, as schoolmate braved her vocal problems to confess her difficulty with combat and how she felt her quirk was unsuited to the task Chloe took a step nearer to her and rested her hand on the girl’s shoulder, admitting she had similar issues as she did so. “But I’m sure there’s something you can do, OK? Believe in yourself?” Never doubting for a second however that either of them would prove their use in the challenge that awaited them, while the airy angel was reasonably sure that her friend could read her lips well enough to comprehend her reassurance as the seconds toward their start counted down, for an added sense of emphasis the emerald eyed enchantress also offered a few signed words to simply ask her to do her best, and that would be enough. Looks like it’s time to get this underway… Unfortunately not afforded all that much time beyond that to spend talking up the confidence of her team as the event got under way, as the announcer declared this date of devastation underway Miss Crawford found herself jolting, and let her eyes dart around her environment to see what was going on. “Good luck!” Stepping off as speedily as she could manage as the gong was sounded and encouraging her cohorts both with her words and another couple of hand gestures the brunette dashed forward with a mix of anxiety and exhilaration as she looked at their challenge, and all too quickly found her attention drawn to not one but two targets for them to start with. “I-I’ve got this!” The heart of the young heroine wrenching as she was forced to make a decision between two targets that her powers were rather perfectly suited for and she chose to go after the one in the more immediate danger, as a man and his dog found themselves about to be flattened like a pancake by the falling debris this seemed the obvious choice for her an ability that could whip up barriers and shelters out of nothing more than air, and while it was painful to turn her attention away from the youngsters Chloe had to hope her cohorts had enough to help them at least long enough for her to take care of this particular problem. “You guys take care of the children!” Rushing to the side and aiming for the site of the toppling timber as she called out to her comrades, Miss Crawford readied both her quirk and her legs and broke into the speediest sprint she could as she dashed to try and get the guy in range as quickly as she could. Glad that she had spent that time training with the boisterous Mr Bluster in order to gain a little fleetness in her feet, as she drew nearer and nearer the girl lifted up her hands and took in a deep breath, before thrusting the former forward to activate her power and hopefully protect him from what was falling down on top of him. Gotta make it in time! The air around her hands seeming to turn to crystal or something similar as she did so, with her teeth clenched together Chloe conjured a kind of ‘tunnel’ of solidified air to stretch from her own location in order to defend the man for whom his pet barked so desperately, which should have proven sturdier than the objects that were dropping down on him. The constructs she could create looking like glass but certainly far sturdier than that, what she conjured had a toughness that could compare to steel and beyond and as such made a wonderful shelter and escape route for anyone about to find themselves in a tight spot, providing they found themselves inside it with enough time to spare of course… @tag | Word Count: ### | Outfit

Post by Shimizu Haruto on Mar 13, 2020 13:07:11 GMT -4
Haruto would nod with a smile, taking the other's handshake without much thought- It seemed he had had worried too much. Naturally, any UA student who had signed up for a rescue event full of flames would have some confidence in dealing with them. Even Chikako, whose lack of self confidence was plain to the eye, was no exception. "You sell yourself short, Chikako-san. Relax, I've seen you in action before. You'll do fine." He honestly meant it, too- Although the hopeless optimist Haruto was perhaps not the most reliable judge of talent. It came with always seeing the best in people... Haruto would make excuses for someone who was in the middle of punching him in the face!
Specifically for Chikako... He would never look down on her for avoiding combat. He himself was a devout pacifist, and saw nothing wrong with her wanting to avoid combat. Rescue heroes were heroes too! Which was why he would properly ignore every bit of self deprecation she offered, and only pay attention to the positives! "Breaking through rubble? That's great! I'm sure we'll need to free trapped people at some point, so I'll be counting on you!" Was he forgetting that he could do it himself, or just trying to assure her that she had a job? The truth was, his quirk's strength may be high, but it's destructive power was low- He could move rubble, but not break through it. Surely there would be times when they didn't have time for that, or it would be too likely to cause the whole thing to crumble down... Better to break through, grab the victim, and get out in that case!
He wasn't sure of his other teammate's name, her having not offered it... But he wasn't going to push the matter. In any case, she had had no real input on his question, and Chikako had not even answered, so he would nod. "Alright, that sounds good to me." While it was nice to have a plan... In a constantly changing scenario like this, a plan had only so much meaning. He had already let them know of the value of his quirk in this situation- The british girl could prevent inhalation after rescue, but he would be able to save anyone who was in critical state before they even arrived. Between the three of them, there was hardly reason for concern. His fingers ran over the fabric first aid kit which hung at his side, feeling out it's contents, making sure he knew where every piece was. There was no telling what injuries they might encounter.
"Fortunately for all of us, the rules forbid conflict... So there's no need to worry about liking to fight or not! Leave that to the tournament, I say." Haruto would conclude with a grin. As the school's foremost medical student, he had been quite busy treating the injuries from that event... But also felt as though the experience he had gained in doing so was invaluable. But more than that, he was glad to stay far, far away from anything to do with combat!
But there was only so much time to talk before the event began in earnest. "Same to you!" The white-haired youth would shoot back, although perhaps a part of his speech was drowned out by the starting bell. He ran forward, but was clearly falling behind in speed... Unfortunately for the boy, it was a simple fact that his body was his weakest trait. Muscles ravaged by his quirk in his youth, he was still recovering to the level that could be called normalcy.
However, his lack of speed, did not become a lack of use! As he approached the inferno, the thick smoke would visibly react, pulled towards his pale body as though it were a vacuum. A close look would find an increasing black tinge in his veins, the mutated blood cells of his quirk multiplying in response to the toxins in the air- As well as his own urging- Until finally it reached the levels he would need. With a silent prayer to his teacher, Tsutsuji Hachi... Haruto took a deep breath. While in the past, this had felt like his body, or more accurately his quirk, going on a rampage... These days, it felt more like flicking a switch in his mind. Instantly, the connections between impurities was formed, feeling like... It was difficult to describe. Each collection of cells became yet another arm to the boy, even as they flowed throughout the vessels of his body.
But they were of no use there, and so they would be directed outwards- Black ooze seeped through his pores, concealed from the audience by the thick white coat he wore- Until it burst through the back, slits clearly having been made in the fabric to allow the impurities to pass through. Within moments, the black goop had expanded outward, forming a pair of wings whose span was far wider than that of his arms- In fact, they were likely the largest construct he could make without the whole thing falling apart. But even with that, physics was a harsh mistress- There was no way they should be able to let him fly.
And yet, as though ignoring that, the boy would take one final step... And then rise into the air. An observant member of the audience may notice- The smoke being absorbed was far greater above the wing than below it, enough to create a pressure differential in the air itself... And as the results would show, enough of a differential to generate lift! The boy shot in the air, no faster then before- But with nothing in his way, he would have no trouble reaching the window.
Although even as he did so, and even as he smiled reassuringly at the children, his feelings were mixed. While he was sure the event staff knew what they were doing, accidents did happen- Was it really okay to place children in danger, for an exhibition? They had used mannequins the previous year, for a reason! But he did not want to worry the children- Even if they were simply actors- By showing this on his face. Instead, landing on the windowsill, his wings would soon dissolve into nothing as he entered the room. "Don't worry, I'm here to help. Where is your mother?" Haruto asked- His voice calm, as though everything was safe now that he was here, that there was no need to panic. Keeping the victims calm was of the utmost importance.
Subtly, as he did so, he raised his hands to gently touch each of the kids- His quirk would activate as soon as he did so, removing any smoke which had entered their lungs thus far. It was as simple as breathing, so he did it without a second thought... But for the mother, who did not move. He had far more concern.

Chikako was not feeling all too competent about this situation at all, especially given the fact that her teammates seemed so capable that they rushed off to save much before she could even finish her full sentences. However, she knew she would have to press on to do something, even if she seemed to be the loose end of the group. She rushed towards the burning building with the children and stopped to see Haruto flying to the window. After a glance his way again, she took a look around the surroundings to gauge an idea of what she should do next amidst her panics. "I do not think you can get all of them down from up there, I-i'll use my summon to get the children down", she said knowing there was a mother and two children; a total of three.
She closed her eyes and let out a deep breath as dark pixelated smoke seemed to go around her before a large seven foot demon appeared from the mudworks. It had wings and the wings were not for show. Chikako stayed still in her spot, however the summon began to fly upwards towards the open window and waited there. It did not speak, only the sounds of its boney leathery wings flapping, gave it any indication that it was semi-real. "Get the kids to go to him he can fly them down", she told haruto offering her services.
TLDR: is anxious, doesnt move for a bit after chloe and haruto move. Gets to Haruto after he is inside the building. Summons Tenbi and offers to fly the kids down since he has to carry the mother down and time is sensitive.

The man dropped himself to the ground as he saw the end was near. He clutched his eyes, a silent prayer for salvation beyond, but after that moment of shock, his eyes burst open, seemingly expecting to see the afterlife before him, rather than the pile of debris slowly being pushed away from his body His breaths were uneven, but he managed to bring himself to his feet. The dog was quick back to his side, barking still, but this time from joy, joy that his master was still alive. The dog hopped around his feet, the fire raging around them but a distant memory despite being right in the midst of it.
"Oh, God." He stumbled towards the girl, stopping right in front of her, balancing his hands on his knees as he forced himself to make eye contact with her. "Thank you, miss. Thank you!" He coughed a few times, the smoke no doubt filling his lungs. "Please, how do I get out of this blazing hell?!" Despite his condition he seemed to be the kind of person he would rather keep care of himself, but there were a few bangs and bruises on what Chloe could see. Surprisingly unharmed thanks to her hasty efforts! "No one else lived with me, but there are elderly people further down the street, please, hurry!" Guided or not, he the man would start to make his way towards the triage tent that had been provided, assuming that they bothered to give him directions (and that none of them would try to stop him).
Both of the children recoiled at the devilish sights, the inky black-winged man and the devilish monster that had just hoisted themselves thorugh the window and into the foreground against the blazing fire. They hugged each other, the sister of which swallowed her fears and pointed to the body of a woman not more than a meter to Haruto's right. He likely would have noticed it on the way in. It was hard to tell how much of a difference his quirk use actually made, but had he been paying enough attention, he would have noticed that the toxins taken from the children were quite minimal... odd for how long they had supposedly been trapped in the house. Regardless, true to their word, the actor that was supposedly the children's mother was on the ground, her breaths were shallow and rapid. While she seemed passed out, should Haruto approach they would be able to notice the woman just barely open her eyes to them. Her hand would tremble just slightly, but it was there.
The brother would refuse to let himself be carried by Tenbi, but his sister would protest. "Thomas, please, we have to go!" But to this he would shake his head, crying what tears he could manage in this hellish heat. Unless he was stopped he would rush over to his mother's body and hug her tightly, potentially getting in Haruto's way.
"No! I won't go with the scary monster! Mummy! Help!" Alas, mummy was not awake, and all the kid would manage to do was be a bit of a nuisance!
The rush of hot air blew Jin's hair this way and that! With the two civilians tucked in her arms, she lept out of the window just in time for a blaze of fire to explode from the smoldering house! "Oh! That really was a close one! Don't worry, we're going to get you to safety as soon as possible?
The actors that she had managed to bring along with her were quite a bit lighter than she thought they would be, but that was great. Landing on a slightly stable roof, she set the both of them on their feet. "Are either of you hurt? Nothing's broken, right?" The actors looked at each other for a second before one of them, a man spoke up.
"I-I think you might have sprained my wrist on the way out. I can't really feel my hand." He grabbed the limb in question.
Jin's motherly smile quickly turned worried. "Oh! I'm so sorry I-!"
"It's fine. Be more careful from here on out, okay? You could have easily broken it."
"Right..." With a bit of hesitation, the girl would begin to wave towards the sky to Fan who was waiting in the skies of above for a situation exactly like this.
With a moment of circling, the Moth girl dived down towards the roof, only buffeting her fall at the last moment. Her medical instincts tickled her the wrong way, she could tell something was wrong.
"Heya! What are we looking at here?"
"Sprained wrist, but that seems to be it."
Fan nodded to her teammate and looked to the supposedly injured actor. She didn't really have any on her right now since they were so bulky. "Okay, mister, I'm going to need you to keep holding the injured wrist just like that okay?" The actor nodded to her. "I'm going to fly you back to our triage tent, the ride is going to be a little rough, but I'm going to make sure you get through it a-okay? Alright?"
With a nod of permission, Fan would scoop the man off his feet and start flying towards Fenghuang's temporary base of operations. Meanwhile, As Fan ran through her checklist, Jin would turn her attention to the other woman, who had remained oddly silent. "No injuries?" The woman shook her head. "Great! Let's get off his roof before it collapses!"
The director, Leonard Black, kept a scowl on his face. So much to do, so much time that he had to fill. "Get me some flares, stat! Keep that audience entertained! Collapse building 57-B!" Everything was like putty in his hands, his gaze glanced over to one of the hundreds of monitors, an excellent angle of that UA boy taking care of some of the actors. "Excellent! Take Camera 127!" One of the poor workers manning this entire operation shouted in confirmation, sending the shot to live feed!
But there was something wrong here, something that he was forgetting, and then it clicked. "Damn!" He pressed one of his comms to get the attention of a certain someone on the other side. "Facade! We have cameras on the kid with your 'troublesome' quirk, keep him distracted from that will- Take Camera 130! Keep him distracted from that, will you?"
A few seconds of silence, oh, precious seconds were everything when you were running a show on this scale shots, timers, everything was hectic as could possibly be, and the Director lived for it! he fired off commands and sequences of shots like clockwork, all waiting for that response.
Then Finally! "Don't worry, Leonard, I've been doing this for a long time. I know and each and every one of these characters as if they were my own children. Keep your eyes on the cameras, darling, and I'll make my children dance!"
Leonard felt a shiver go down his spine. "Copy that."

Fancy us meeting like this~? ❝ Did I…? The crash and carnage whipping up a cloud of dust that would keep Miss Crawford in suspense for a series of seconds that seemed so very long that they might as well have been years, her green gaze darted from side to side as she scanned the scene in front of her, hoping for the best but dreading the worst as she waited for the smoke to settle a little. Thank heavens…! The patience of the young woman paying dividends when she was finally able to take a long breath inward of relief when she saw the man stumbling along and out from the heap that she had apparently protected him from, once he was clear of danger our young heroine eased her quirk to turn that glassy substance around him back into gas, both for the sake of preserving her stamina and also so that he might be able to move more freely as well. “A-Are you… Are you OK, sir?” Bounding up toward him on her tiptoes once she had done so and immediately offering her concern and support as she did so, even though he looked shaken but otherwise alright Chloe wanted to make sure he wasn’t hurt in any sort of serious manner before she took a moment to relax, and was reassured to see that he wasn’t struggling in any significant way. He doesn’t look too badly hurt, despite what he’s been through… This stranger looking a little bit breathless but otherwise only bruised and a bit blackened by his experience, with the meagre experience that the brit had in giving aid she guessed from the fact that he could still move around and didn’t seem to be favouring any part of his body that he was for the most part alright, and ran her hand back through her hair as she quietly celebrated her first little bout of success in this test and hoped she might find more as she kept moving. “OK, thank you, I’ll head to help them right away!” The efforts of the emerald enchantress also seeming to pay her in ways that she didn’t expect as well, while she had been wholly concerned with the wellbeing of the shaken soul before her, as the stranger asked her to help other people Miss Crawford knew she couldn’t simply stand idle and began to move in the direction he had indicated before turning around. “Just try to keep your distance from the building, the aid station is only just along here, not far!” Almost forgetting to give this dusty dog owner the directions he had asked for but fortunately managing to recall before she went running off to her next target the teen twisted on the spot and pointed the dog owner toward the point she had begun the exercise from, the emerald enchantress waited for the man to begin to walk that way before turning around, and beginning to jog in the direction of the elderly folk he had indicated moments earlier. “This is White Wind, I’ve rescued my target and am now heading to support further potential casualties further along, will keep in contact…” Reaching up to the bud in her ear as she did so as well, Chloe knew that good communication was the key to successful teamwork and fired up the small radio in her ear in order to make sure that her companions were aware of both her success and the fact that she was moving onto better and brighter things, and hoped that Haruto would be listening to his own earpiece in order to keep their audibly challenged cohort informed as well. I have no idea what’s going to be waiting for me… I better be ready for anything! Perhaps a little regretful that they would be separated so quickly when it had been her advice to try to stick together where they could but ultimately knowing that speed was of the essence when rescuing people in trouble, every second she might wait on her team catching up to her might be one that those with a problem couldn’t afford, and as such that made parting company feel like the only option she had right now really… @tag | Word Count: ### | Outfit

Post by Shimizu Haruto on Mar 19, 2020 18:26:41 GMT -4
If there was one thing Haruto was sensitive to, it was his own quirk. His expression softened as he removed 'toxins' from the children- Clearly they had never been in quite so much danger as he had been concerned. However, he would not become complacent- While the situation may be artificial, the test was real. While he wouldn't be risking anyone's lives if he made an error now... The world was watching. And he would show them what the word Hero meant to him.
Unfortunately, the world was rarely so smooth as that. No sooner had he landed than he saw the fear in the children's eyes- Not of the fire, but of him. His quirk. While he would admit it did not have the most pleasant of appearances, it still hurt to be so reviled! But with a smile, he would encourage the children. "We're not monsters! We're..." He paused awkwardly, clearly uncomfortable with placing this label on himself. "We're heroes." He stated in the end, although the blush upon his features was obvious. After all... Wasn't hero something you called other people? Wasn't it pretentious to call yourself one? Even though it was true...
But! He wouldn't falter because of this! Whether or not he was a Hero... He would prove it! To himself, if nobody else! And so, to the children, he would draw himself back up. "Please. I need to help your mother. Will you let me?" He did not rely on any claims of success, nor revealed his background in medical studies... Did not show anything but the quiet assurance that he was there to help. He looked the boy in the eyes as best he could. It would do no good for anyone to pull him away from his mother- But they could not wait. Haruto's quirk purified the room, but there were yet more victims... And if the mother was as seriously harmed as she looked, every moment counted.
For what he could, he would take a visual survey. "Responsive. That's good." He said with unfeigned relief. The fact that the mother was still conscious meant they had time to find the problem. But... "Not here, though. Come on, lets get out before the whole place burns down!" Rule one of first aid: Do not perform it in a dangerous location. The only thing worse than an injured victim is an injured victim and an injured hero. With thh elder sister willing to be held by Tenbi, Haruto would nod to Chikako- "I'll get these two, can you take her?" He wasn't so cruel to separate the boy from his mother at this time... Even if they were just actors.
While Haruto was not strong enough to carry anyone on his own, his quirk would once more rise to the occasion, gently lifting the body of the mother, and the child next to her. He glanced at the girl, with the boy in shock and his mother injured, she was the safest one to speak to. "Is there anyone else in the house?" While he did not believe so... It was always better to be safe than sorry. Apologies couldn't save lives.
His quirk would automatically act to draw any toxins out of the mother, if they were present- But if the problem was more serious, he would take a deeper look when they were outside of immediate danger. If no one else was in the house, he would take these two out, and leave the girl to Tenbi... If the children admitted that their father was elsewhere, then taking all three with him, he would ask Chikako if he could leave the rest to her.

The situation changed quite rapidly, for infact it turned out that there was a father involved or so the elder sister had informed them. Chikako heart dropped a beat, as she tried to figure out what the best course of action would be in this situation. "Go on, I got this maybe", she said to Haruto whomst words she barely heard. Tenbi soon flew in through the window of the burning house and opened the door to begin his search for the missing man. Thankfully, he couldn't been to far away the house was no mansion by any means. Eventually, tenbi would find him and he did. Tenbi grabbed the man and quickly made a b-line to the house where he quickly broke through the wall and flew out; chikako nor tenbi wanted to stay in the crumbling house any longer then they had to and both knew carving a way out was most likely the fastest way out.
Flying the man down towards Chikako, landing the man as gently as the giant demon would let her. "Haruto check this guy out", she mumbled as she knew haruto was doing some voodoo magic to the people. "It would be best if they get sent back as a family, to ease their stress", she mumbled wanting to quickly treat and send these people on their way to chikako and haruto could move onto the next task at hand

The fires danced, as if following a choreographed routine. They whipped and roared, cameras swinging and spiralling into positions, barely visible, allowing the audience to watch both teams closely. It was impossible to hear their cheers or jeers under the sweltering howl of London’s hellfire. It seemed the U.A kids were doing good. But a game like this was built on risk and reward; on judgement and efficiency. Of triage!
Chloe’s Path - The House Fire
The directions given to Chloe were pretty spot on - the actors weren’t allowed to lie after all - and she soon found herself at the house he’d pointed her towards. Or what was let of it. Britain in 1600 wasn’t exactly renowned for its architectural integrity. Buildings were mostly wooden with thatch roofs, narrow and tall tenements that curved outward into the street. The perfect fuel for a firestorm. The home before Chloe was engulfed in fire to the point it became hard to breathe in the narrow cobble street. No sounds came over the crackling and snapping, but this was definitely the home of an elderly couple. For a moment, the powerful east wind that carried the London fires died and a soft cry for help could be heard.
The door to the home was closed and seemed to be blocked from the other side. There were no alleyways, no easy way to get behind the house, leaving the windows on the right of the door her only avenue of entering. The glass was shattered and thick, dark smoke plumed out. Visibility would be terribly low. The air would barely be breathable. The fire would have destroyed much of what was inside. But two elderly men sat in the corner of their living room, huddled together. One, with salt and pepper hair, was choking and calling for help, while the other was limp in his arms. If Chloe angled herself well enough, she’d be able to make out their shapes before entering. The challenge here was obvious. Get in, get two elderly men out and do it before she or they choked out and died horribly!
Chikako & Haruto’s Path - The Riddle
The boy looked at Haruto, looked at the ‘Hero’ and seemed to take a moment to think. The panic disappeared from his face in a way that sorta broke the immersion of the crisis. Then, as if remembering his lines, the boy gasped, grinned and nodded.“Okay! I’ll go with you! But I’m not leaving mummy!” Haruto thought of this and, while the child himself found the squicky presentation of Haruto’s quirk a little unsettling, he was suddenly very complacent and willing to do as Haruto asked. Upon closer inspection, either Haruto or Chikako, both children held tight in their hands a little device with a red button on top. They’d both recognised these things as the ‘Emergency’ signals given to all actors for the circumstance they find themselves in real danger.
The sister was about to clamber up into Tenbi’s arms when Chikako ordered him to search the house for their father. Soon enough, a man was presented. “Father!” she yelped, going to his side as Tenbi delivered him to the floor. This man was unconscious and, by the looks of him, pretty badly burnt. Hair was singed and his clothes were blackened He was unresponsive and struggled to breathe. Heart rate was low - pretty impressive for an actor - and his lungs were filled with the toxic smoke. The remnants of an emergency signal were adhered to the inside of his hand… And… If either student bothered to check him, they’d work out this man was truly hurt and not just playing his part. Which left them with a problem.
Now there were four bodies. Two children, the ten year old girl and six year old boy. The mother, who remained inert on Haruto’s back. And the father, with real, life-threatening injuries. Between them, Chikako and Haruto were not exactly strong. Haruto’s quirk could carry a hefty weight, but only so much of it could be utilised at once. A small explosion obliterated a window above their heads, showering them in harmless fake glass. Smoke pooled in the air, disappearing into the sky. The distance from here to the triage tent was not insignificant. The children would do whatever they were asked, but neither knew the way to the tent and neither could carry either of their parents. The mother wouldn’t help, regardless of what she’s told, simply remaining aloof and feigning a fading consciousness. The father, of course, was unconscious. Chikako’s poor physique meant she wouldn’t be able to carry anyone. Tenbi could carry an adult at most, but only one body regardless of size. Haruto could carry as many as he wanted, but four bodies was hard to carry with tendrils if he wished to maintain his wings and his purifying aura. Sacrificing one meant he’d be slow as a snail getting them back to the tent. Sacrificing the other meant the smoke could further smother and damage the lungs of those under his care. And now there was an actual life on the line? How, oh how, would these heroes choose?
- Chloe has encountered The House Fire! -- Get the Elderly Couple to safety! --- Visibility is low! --- Avoid the smoke! --- Avoid the fire!
- Chikako & Haruto have encountered The Riddle! -- Get the Family to safety! --- The Daughter, The Son, The Father & The Mother must be rescued! --- Complication! The Father has been badly wounded and is not acting! Medical attention is required immediately or additional Complications will arise!

Fancy us meeting like this~? ❝ Oh goodness… The emerald eyes of Miss Crawford widening as she looked at her target, it had been easy to pick out the site from the blazing image it gave off, but that didn’t make it any easier to look at either. Fire seeming to be consuming the old fashioned structure of the building with a disregard for life that went beyond reckless, the brunette couldn’t help but gape at what she was seeing for a moment or two, frozen in alarm before her reflexes kicked in to help her. Not to mention the smoke that was making each of her breaths that bit shorter and stinging her eyes, but our young heroine had something to deal with that. They always said my quirk was like one of those knives from Switzerland… Lifting her hands up as she took in as deep and clear a breath as she could, Chloe activated her quirk to create a round and slightly frosted structure around her head out of the air around her, which would hopefully protect her from the worst the smoke could offer. The ability she had handy like this and in so many other circumstances, while it would be a little bit of a drain on her stamina to maintain it was certainly better than sucking down lungful’s of thick, nasty smoke as she went about her job, which could stifle her both in the short and the long term as well. “I-Is there anyone in there!” Lingering for a second at the site of the blaze before swallowing the knot it created in her throat down enough that she might continue, thanks to the rescue training that Miss Crawford had received her response was automatic and cautious, but flooded with concern. Sizing up the structure and trying to see a sign of life within as she approached it with a careful sense of urgency, the British beauty pleaded for someone to answer her if they were able to, and hoped that it might help her to find her targets quickly and speedily. “Call out if you can hear me!” This continuing as she reached the front door to the burning structure in the hopes of hearing anything that she could use to try and pinpoint the pair that the man before had told her about, as she called out to the people she hoped were inside and listening Chloe laid her hand on the door handle tentatively, to see if the blazing temperature within had transferred to it. Warm but not blazing hot… That's good? A technique of firefighters that had been passed onto her in one of her lessons at the very same Valiant Academy that this event was now held, the green eyed girl was glad for a moment to not feel her flesh being seared by metal about to turn red hot, but was disappointed by what she discovered next. No! It seems like… The handle seeming cool enough that she could turn it to try and make her way into the small building but as she tried something seeming to deny her efforts entirely, with her girlish frame unable to budge the door that blocked her more than an inch or two, and leaving her decidedly disappointed at the discovery. Something’s jamming it?! Even going so far as to push her shoulder into the effort and try and force her way inside but whatever it was that seemed so intent on denying her stronger than the effort that Miss Crawford was capable of on her own, after bashing it a couple of times persistently but meeting with no success the young woman sighed and took a step back to weigh her options up in the aftermath. Should I break through it? Confident that her quirk might be able to batter the barricade out of the way if she put enough oomph into it, for some reason Chloe felt reluctant to do so when she didn’t know what was waiting inside for her, and instead opted to see if there was another option for her entry on the house. Maybe this would be better? To her great relief finding that there seemed to be, the broken remnants of a window seemed a much better option for her egress, and so the emerald enchantress moved over to it and tried to peer into the hole in the house in order to see what was going on inside. What do we have in here then? That not an easy task with smoke billowing out of it of course but the squinting green gaze of the girl trying to penetrate the blanket of smog all the same, while it took her a second or two to recognise what she was seeing within Miss Crawford could spy something that looked promising, and acted accordingly. One, no two of them, isn’t there? Spying a shape that looked like at least one person within this smouldering structure and moving quickly because of it, while the student wasn’t exactly sure of what she might expect if she entered she thrust herself within through the broken window without moment of hesitation, and barely even flinched at the scrapes and scratches she might get as a result either. “D-Don’t worry, I’m here to help…!” For the time being far more concerned with the people within than a few naughty little nicks she might receive in her effort, Chloe pushed herself through the surprisingly roomy opening and flopped inside as quickly as she could manage, before looking and heading straight toward the people she thought she saw within. “Can you move?! We need to get both of you out of here…” Eyes wide and full of concern of course as she did so, even though the smoke was making it hard to know where she was going the brunette pushed herself onward and reached out to the folk who seemed to be huddled low to try and escape the smoke, asking them how they were doing as she tried to assess their situation and what she should do next in order to save them as well of course… @tag | Word Count: ### | Outfit

The situation was quickly turning bad, the guy seemed to be in quite the critical state considering all things. She was quite scared, with how bad it looked it was almost too real, his skin even smelled charred. "HARUTO, this looks bad, he might not be acting?", she made the call out. Honestly, it looked too disgusting to be real and if it was real, well Chikako done was convinced and she'd be super impressed. But into they announced that he was acting, she was beyond concerned right now. She got Tenbi to grab him "I am going to head off, you get those three, this guy can't wait. I am not the fastest but i can't handle all three by myself", she said trying to explain her logic. It was way a really hard situation, this might not have been the best choice either, but one thing Chikako was certain was that she needed to act as quickly as possible. Tenbi as gently as he possibly could as a hulking beast he was flew the dad forward and Chikako and him went to the first aid center as quickly as possible; if they could get there within this post she would quickly run to a nurse. "HEY, I don't think this is acting", she said panickingly.
TLDR: Panicks Noticed the burns look real, some good acting or this isnt a joke Chikako is weak, so lets the three people be with haruto where chikako focuses on the critical. Informs the nurse on sight, if they reach their right this moment, that she doesn't think this is acting.
