Well, this was it: the day of the tournament beginning, and boy was it exciting. The fresh air from the fresh grass and great stones set into the arena, organised into a pride of British and World history, was delicate to the nose, not something you could get at home. The cheering crowds and whizzing cameras, integral to the big fight, were preparing for the first of the 1v1v1s. And agape, amidst all the glamour and unadulterated joy, was Tsuji. He had his school gym clothes on, a marker for his home school, as he wasn't just representing U.A, he was representing his country here. He made checks with people beforehand, getting his introduction to a perfect degree, so he could hype up the crowd as much as possible. After all, his parents were sure to be watching. It was time to put on a show. Jumping up and down, Tsuji shook his head, his hands, and his legs, getting loosened up for his entrance. But that wasn't all he was doing. He was thinking, mostly, about the opponents he had to face. Momoko he'd met and chatted with during their apprenticeship with King Taurus a long while ago, she was quite the tinkerer, and could possibly be hard to find because of her quirk. But she did pack significant power, so it was all to play for. The other opponent, Jace, on the other hand, Tsuji was very unclear on. He had to watch out for them, and put his all in. A strategy began to form in his mind, and he was ready to make his grand entrance into the fray. With music now blaring, the bear made his way to run into the arena looking all the around the crowd, pumping his fists into the air, sliding on the grass on his knees. When he made it to the carefully arranged stones, he hopped on top of one of the laid down ones, and began to point towards the camera stationed on him, signalling back home. Tsuji played to the crowd a fair amount, going for full showmanship, as an opportunity like this didn't come around often. After his showboating, he turned his attention over to the entrance, waiting for who would come out next. It'd be a battle and a half, an all out bout between three students to open the whole tournament. The world was watching. This was a fight to remember.

She may have been robbed of the opportunity for this last year, but not this time! Momoko would have logically had a lot of reasons to be worried instead of excited. As a support student, her battle experience was limited, although the internship did help on that front. But she had wanted to prove the power of her gadgets, and by extension herself, in a more public setting for ages. Winning at an international tourney would be ideal for that. Now all she had to do... was to just win! Tsuji she was somewhat familiar with due to the internship. She knew that he was physically very strong and deceptively fast for his size, which would prove to be a big problem. Berna, on the other hand, was a bit of a mystery that she was hoping to solve before this battle would be over. But she had a plan. Someone of her size had to always have a plan. Speaking of size, that could have become a potential problem with her entrance. Walking all the way to the pillars wasn't the fastest thing for someone so small, and Momoko wasn't willing to use up any gas from her gear to speed it up either. Thankfully, her foresight and engineering prowess had provided her with a third option that, in all honesty, was much superior to the two other ones. After a short intro, the real beat of the song she had chosen with the European audience in mind kicked in and a black, very small sportscar made its way into view. On the top of it was Momoko, leaning forwards as she was holding onto the roof of the car with one hand while the other one was busy manipulating a small controller. Her new auburn cloak waved wildly in the wind, revealing the black bodysuit underneath alongside the suit's toolbelt. You couldn't see an inch of the small girl's skin, as even her head was covered by the combination of the cloak's hood and as well as the new addition to the costume that helped to keep the hood from blowing back: a white mask. It was still mostly blank, aside from the eyeholes and two speakers on the cheeks, but Momoko had deemed it to be "cool enough" at this stage to be included into the big picture. ...though there were some issues with the entrance. The area around the pillar formation was more bumpy than Momoko had expected, and her hand ended up slightly denting the plastic roof as it dug deeper into it. The mask had been a good call after all; it did a good job hiding the quick panic that Momoko had over the possibility that she'd make a fool of herself. Still, she did manage in not flipping over before approaching the pillars. The car entered under one of the arches and as it got close to one of the laid down ones Momoko would press the stop button. The car would come to a sudden stop (or at least tried to) as Momoko parted ways with it by leaping over towards the laid down pillar. She did a flip in the air before a clean landing, and would have been perfectly satisfied with the performance if not for the small bump that she felt as the car finally did manage to stop... by bumping against the pillar she had landed on. It wasn't a crash, but the impact was still significant. Momoko was admittedly still figuring out the piloting part. "It's fine! This is fine! The cameras were supposed to be on the rider anyway, not the car hit one of the pillars a just little bit!"
She was just going to power through this one. She'd set the car to drive all the way up to the other edge (to which it did make it after some trouble) as her other hand would remove the mask to flash a smile to both the audience and her opponents. She gave a very small bow to Tsuji as the music started to fade, who had already made it to the arena, and would do the same to the other opponent once they'd arrive to the scene.

A year has passed. How had a year passed?! Jace didn't feel any stronger, any different from last year when he'd partake in the festival. Though, in many ways that was his fault he supposed. His anxiety, had kept him cooped in instead of going out and having experiences with his fellow students. Multiple people tried to train with him, and each time he hadn't done it. He hadn't even taken up an internship, not that he'd gotten any offers, but he didn't push or beg. He'd simply accepted it as expected for someone like him. Each time he'd let it pass by. Each time he said he'd do it later. And now later was here and the French boy was about to reap what he'd sewn. The only problem was he'd sewn a guaranteed fist to the face. Or, at least that's what he'd though approaching the arena. Instead he was met with something much worse. He was familiar with one of his opponents, Tsuji but only in the fact that they'd been classmates in their first year together. He'd never actually fought the bear, nor was he aware of what he could do, though really it seemed pretty obvious. But, of course, in UA one had to expect the unexpected, after all Jace himself was capable of a rather unique and unexpected transformation. But still, it seemed pretty obvious the bear kid would be as strong as well...a bear, which was why he went from nervous to terrified. He was going to beaten to a pulp with the bare hands of Tsujis bear hands. And that was just one of his opponents, he knew next to nothing on the other opponent, this Momoko. And that was scary in its own right. So while music that he'd only slightly been forced to choose played in the background, the pumped up song completely contradicted the boys mannerisms on his entrance. He hadn't thought he could feel less confident than he had during the cavalry battle last year, but here he was, doing just that. Though Jaces less than steely nerves would at least not be revealed to the world via camera, though not due to him managing to grow a spine but simply because he'd managed to enter at just the right time for a distraction. A tiny car zooming by, carrying a tiny person, who managed to crash it into a not at all tiny pillar. Jace paused, his entrance music now seeming more like suspense music as he tried to make sense of this, his head tilted in curiosity. We're cars allowed here? Was this part of the battle or something else? And why was it so tiny? So many questions, so few answers. And unfortunately he wouldn't get them as his music started wrapping meaning he had to take his spot. There'd be no flourished greeting or pumping up happening though, instead with the momentary distraction gone the nervousness returned and all he could give was a quick nod while blushing a very fine red.

The stage was now set - the two other contestants had arrived, in some pretty interesting fashions. Momoko’s car entrance was cool, straight up, and the music was very inspiring. Her flip onto the turned-over stone obelisk was good for adding flair as well, and as she bowed to him, Tsuji bowed back. Jace entered afterwards, and despite the very pumping beat driving him into the arena, he seemed quite nervous, recognizable by Tsuji due to his own issues with stage fright for events such as the Sentai show. Nevertheless, with all three in the arena, the fight was about to begin. All they needed was the announcement.
“Well folks, our contestants are gathered, the show is ready to begin!” boomed a voice, echoing around the crowd, their cheering practically deafening. Looking around, the bear began to find areas that would be advantageous to him - looking at the stones, he could probably move them around, but not toss them, he wasn’t that strong yet. The ground was malleable, and not just him, but everyone could end up with some mobility problems if the grass and mud were too disrupted. Momoko could have the advantage here with a large area, plus Tsuji was certain she would be carrying gadgets. But what Jace would do was unpredictable, and while it would be interesting to find out, it might be best to try and fight them first. Nerves were a burden in a battle, he understood that, but when you join for a fight, you have to expect the worst and hope for the best.
“This battle is about to explode! FIGHT!”
The bellowing of action. As soon as the announcement was made, Tsuji got into a wide stance, his right arm raised, and his left to his side. It was time to go all out - and in preparation, he had made just the strategy and options for it. A number of stances, each signifying a different approach. “Third Count: Fire Wolf!” he said, and immediately rushed over to Jace, vaulting over one of the turned over stones. Fire Wolf, the third stance, was the aggression stance, heavy blows abound at the cost of defensive options. “Doriyaa!”, he yelled, as Tsuji began launching a right hook towards Jace. Afterwards, he would attempt an uppercut with his left arm, as a follow up. There was no messing around this time, it was time to see what his quirk, whatever it was, could do.

Everyone was now here. Berna didn't respond to Momoko's bow, but she didn't mind it much. She put her mask back on after finishing the formalities, and listened as the announcer's voice boomed into existence. She was ready for this... or at least that's how she felt.
"FIGHT!"
Momoko jumped backwards as soon as she heard the signal. It didn't make sense for her to start off on the offensive. She turned around in the air, raising her right hand towards one of the pillars on the arch she had drove under and launched a Grappling Needle at it. She'd use the momentum and swing above--
Clink.
"Eh?" Momoko landed on the plain grass below the arch after the end of her grappling line bounced off of one of the pillars, leaving her dumbfounded for a second. The launcher hadn't had enough strength on its own to spike itself into the stone. She'd have to use more length to get around. Not to mention that she had now fumbled her momentum, leaving her open for the moment. Thankfully it seemed that Momoko wasn't the target for the round start attack. Tsuji at least seemed to be charging at Berna first, which was good... but also bad. Neither of them should get eliminated too fast, otherwise Momoko's own chances of victory. She'd loved to have waited to observe what Berna could do, but there wasn't time. She had to act now.
Momoko would spring into action and started to circle to the part of the arena that Tsuji's back was towards, though not directly towards the duo. She just wanted a better angle. "There." Momoko launched the Grappling Needle on her right arm once more, this time slightly past one of the pillars. She manipulated the wire so that it's end wrapped itself around the pillar. As soon as she felt it affix itself, she jumped forwards and activated Pressure Bracelets to boost herself with great speed past the pillar. The turn was sharp and landed her on a collision course on Tsuji's back. Ideally she'd make contact with a very crude stomp, putting both the previous momentum and her own strength behind it in an attempt to get a hit in during his own assault on Berna. This'd be followed by Momoko kicking herself away from the back with the other foot and starting to reel herself back to the pillar with the grappling gear's own mechanism. She had zero intention on staying in the thick of things for as long as she could help it.

It couldn't be said that Jace was exactly mentally prepared for this fight, if his anxious entrance hadn't made it clear enough. But this event went beyond a battle of mental strength, it was a literal battle as well, and while he was unhealthy focused on it, the harsh truth was most likely Jace simply didn't match up to his fellow peers on a physical basis. And while Mamoko's miniature stature might be the exception, it certainly wasn't the rule, especially when there was also a literal bear on the field. And Jace would get to experience the growing divide separating him and the rest of the class first hand.
"FIGHT!"
Tsuji wasted no time picking a target, and to probably no one's surprise and also Jaces extreme misfortune, it was the person who could at least reach chest level. There wasn't really much time to react, at least for the ginger boy. Mamoko tried to intercept, most likely having their own agenda as they sped towards Tsuji with their own attack. But how much it might throw off the bear Jace would have no way of knowing, all he would know that even with help Tsujis attack couldn't be dodged. Not that he didn't try, jumping back as far as he could to at least try and glance the blow as the furry student yelled a very unrelated animal in his strike. Fire...Wolf?!
He couldn't help but ponder the mismatch outloud, but unfortunately he wouldn't be pondering for long as the inevitable finally came in the form of a right hook. But while his reflexes and Mamokos help might help lessen the blow, it didn't stop it. And he had no way to stop the follow-up strike whatsoever, the hook throwing him off balance despite not being the cleanest of strikes. That one hurt, hitting him straight in the chin and causing him to fall back from the blow.
Jace was somewhere between full alert and outright panic now, not wanting to be hit again and also fully aware of the huge wall that lie before him in terms of skill. Yet, he didn't surrender from all of this, as despite everything there was a budding of determination as well. So, he would instead quench everyone's curiosity on just what exactly his quirk was. It would be a fast transformation as he didn't change too much physically, his teeth growing sharper as his nails turned into claws, his eyes getting slightly narrower and his ears larger and pointed, and the most obvious difference, a cat tail poking through his school gym pants and shirt near his backbone. But that was the majority of his cat transformation, not having a full one like some students and instead still looking mostly as he had before but with cat features. But a transformation was a transformation, and Jace was pretty nimble.
But he didn't use this transformation to fight Tsuji head on, instead retreating and jumping and climbing the stone pillar with his claws. Cowardly maybe, but it was the clever decision, and Jace for all his flaws was a pretty quick thinker. But he didn't plan on hiding up here all day, but much as Momoko had done he instead jumped to the next pillar over and attempted to flank Tsuji as well, hitting him from behind, attempting to jump on him to slash him while throw him off balance before jumping off him and retreating to the pillar once more.

With the power of an inferno, Tsuji managed to successfully rock Jace a bit, his first punch being slightly disrupted by an attack to his back – most definitely Momoko. As small as a kick was, it's still a kick, after all. The effect of this was that the hook became more of a glancing blow, but the uppercut was no slouch, driving his fist into Jace's chin, sending him back. In the brief moment he had, he attempted to try and see where Momoko was coming from, but to no avail. Besides, it seemed like the real fight was going to begin soon. As Jace got up, Tsuji braced his stance once more, raising his right arm and putting his left in a horizontal form. What followed was what he was going to deal with, a transformation. One not too noticeable, but a transformation nonetheless. Jace was very much in a cat-like form now, sprouting a tail, long claws, and some fluffed-up ears, too. No matter what cosmetic he'd sprout, he was ready for it. However, instead of going head on, Jace dashed up top, to one of the pillars. He was hiding himself, clearly. Not willing to let himself be flanked like before, Tsuji made sure to remain on guard, and by that, it was time for a little style switch. “Second Count: Water Tiger.” he spoke, calmly moving to see round the pillars in front of him. In this movement, he saw Jace, out of the corner of his eye, and presented himself accordingly. Moving with the tranquillity of a lake, he turned to face him and his attempted claw attack, and swiftly followed through by taking Jace's arm that he would slash with, and matching his speed, took the cat boy and attempted to throw him towards another one of the pillars. He wouldn't try to follow through and do something else with it, as he would instead decide to back away, keeping distance between him and his opponent, and keeping on guard in case Momoko attempted something new.

The interruption could have gone better... but it could have gone worse! The strike connected, Tsuji's assault was thrown off enough to give Berna a fighting chance and Momoko herself had managed to retreat without an issue. The small girl would hoist herself on top of the pillar as she reached it again, making the wire untie and reel back with a flick of her wrist as she observed what was unfolding for a brief moment. Berna was still a mystery, but if he didn't do something fast then he might not get to do anything at all. It was now or never. ...and it was now! The boy transformed into a catboy in a flash, which already narrowed things down a lot. He also seemed to be nimble enough to utilize the pillars to his advantage, but Momoko would opt from staying to watch his counterattack. Whatever it was, it meant that they would both be occupied for this one moment. It was time to disappear and prepare for the second part of the plan. She would jump behind the pillar and would use its cover to make her way to the outermost row of pillars. She'd wait for times when she thought that no one was looking at her way to switch her cover, catching quick glances of how the fight would progress as she did. Eventually she'd make it to the side opposing the one from where she had entered herself, and would remain behind one of the pillars there as she would continue to take peeks. But she wouldn't re-enter the fray quite yet. That one sequence was taxing enough for a person with such small energy reserves. She'd have to time the next one carefully, as she might not get another proper ambush after it.

Unfortunately there were no surprises on how the first skirmish went, in fact it went down almost exactly as Jace expected when he saw Momoko zoom in for the assist. Not terrible, but not perfect. But one uppercut wasn't going to be enough to put Jace out of the fight, though it was enough to keep him on his toes, so he transformed and climbed a pillar for a more hit and run style, much like Momoko had taken. Though it seemed Momoko had put Tsuji in a bit of a defensive stance as well, Jace watching as the bear boy raised his arms, able to hear his calm whispers of another stance with his now enhanced hearing. Jace tilted his head curiously, not used to seeing many authentic martial arts, most of what he knew were brawling tricks from Darren. Yet this didn't seem nearly as aggressive. And as Jace made his approach, he'd find out it very much wasn't.
The ginger boy wouldn't be getting another assist from the tiny girl as he had before like he'd been hoping, Momoko having disappeared...somewhere, but thankfully he'd end up no worse for wear either. As expected Tsuji was fast and on guard, meaning his flank was meant with a counter toss, however that was all that came from his failed attack. Jace for his part tried to catch himself, trying to land on his feet as a cat does before turning back to Tsuji to see him in the same stance as before. Jace himself would be on all fours now, resting on the pads of his feet as his front was crouched. He really did look like a cat ready to pounce. But instead he once again ran up the pillar he'd landed near, jumping from pillar to pillar. And then he'd stop, trying to stay out of Tsujis sight behind one of the pillars while hoping he'd managed to cause some confusion as to which one he was on. And Jace would stay there, waiting and hiding, letting time pass and hopefully making Tsuji drop his guard. Jace unfortunately couldn't check though, instead keeping track of Tsuji the best he could with his senses, trying to smell Tsuji to keep track of him.
But while hiding was all well and good, Jace still having no idea where Momoko was at the moment, Jace plan was to get more offensive. Slowly he'd stalk down the shaft of the pillar he was on, still trying to stay out of sight as he climbed. Then he'd burst out at once, leaping down the pillar and jumping out, running on all fours in a surprisingly efficient manner towards where he'd last kept track of Tsuji, and changing course as he went along if he was off on his judgement. But even though he might have surprise on his side, he wasn't going to just charge straight in. Instead, when Tsuji got within range, Jace would try and jump to the side from all fours, once again changing angles. And this was when he'd finally pounce towards the bear, though not before igniting himself alight, his body and arms now lit ablaze as he tried to expose and leap towards Tsujis flank.

After his hop back to keep his guard up if Momoko tried anything, Tsuji couldn't help but notice that Jace had landed after his throw, landing on all fours. Figures, cat-like balance makes sense for a transformation like that. However, much like the bear not following up an attack this time, the orange opponent instead decided to jump around between the pillars, an attempt to create some confusion as to his true location. Jace would surely attack after a while, but it seemed that after a pretty significant time, he wasn't going to show. In that case, Tsuji would have to make him. Stepping out from his position, he got on top of the middle stone, like he had before in his entrance. He was well aware that a placement like this gave Jace more option for attacks, as he could come from any angle. But that was what he wanted. Always try and give your opponent room, that way, they'll believe they have the advantage. You only need enough room to plan. Soon enough, true to his thoughts, Jace burst out from hiding, as the bear picked up the patting of the ground from hands and feet. However, it seemed that in the midst of it, as he turned to see, the cat-boy had turned in the direction of where he was before, changing now to rush his current position on the middle stone. Why was that? A question for later, it was time to act. Continuing on, Jace quickly jumped to the side, admittedly a surprise for Tsuji, but not something he couldn't overcome. “ THIRD COUNT: FIRE WOLF!” he quickly spat out, and as the cat leapt towards his side, now covered in a blaze of fire, as the bear felt the heat. It only made sense to fight fire with fire, right? Clenching his fist, he focused all his energy, and readied his left leg, visualising that yellow aura once more, just like last year. Turning his body, Tsuji raised his leg, and attempted a kick, directly to Jace's face. The flames on his body would make contact, sure, but a big blow like this would be ideal to get a pretty good advantage. With his attack, scrambling his mind, the bear shouted out, bellowing to the crowd around: “NEO SPARK KICK!” If this gamble succeeded, and the resolve was true, he'd have to place his leg down once again, and deal with what would possibly be a good trade: massive damage for a burn.

Berna seemed to have some wits about them, taking a similar hit-and-run strategy. Unfortunately it was also telling that they didn't think that they'd best Tsuji in a direct confrontation. Momoko couldn't afford to hide for long as a result, but the small lull in the action did afford for her to move behind one of the smaller (yet still sizable) stones between inner and outer circle of pillars to hastily prepare the next course of action. She'd start to unreel some of the wire from the left launcher and started to knot it into a loop knot. She felt annoyed that she didn't manage to do it quite as fast as she was used to, costing her valuable seconds. It wouldn't be finished until the battlefield was stirring to action once more. Momoko took a quick peek to see were people where before starting. The lasso was pulled over the small-ish stone as the second clash between the two fighters was happening, doing it while still behind it. She couldn't be certain that it'd go unnoticed, but she could hope. After all, this wouldn't be her trying to distract an opponent to enable someone else; it was using the distraction by the other to enable herself. She raised her foot against the stone and pulled hard, making sure that the wire was in its place. "Alright, act 2."Momoko would jump out from the cover of smaller yet still firmly planted stone as the clash between Tsuji's kick and Berna's assault was happening. She'd dash forward. gaining momentum from boosting forward at full speed and by using the free grappling needle to swing herself by using it against the grassy ground, doing so once so that she'd stay airborne until the actual target of this attack was approached: Tsuji's legs. More specifically she had aimed slightly past them on the right... at which point her hand grasped the wire that had been unreeling from her left launcher as the pressurized air spewed out violently from the Pressure Bracelets was aimed singularly to the right side of Momoko's body. If her face could have been observed from beneath the mask, people could have seen the small girl looking uncharacteristically like she was struggling, gritting her teeth with utmost seriousness in her eyes. This whole maneuver was something that she hadn't done before, and it was hard, but she was damned if she didn't catch at least one of Tsuji's legs. Whether this amount would be 2, 1 or 0 would depend on whether Tsuji would be able to dodge, and perhaps even from whether his leg had landed down in time as this surprise assault took place. Should this maneuver manage to catch at least one of the legs, Momoko would loop around them a few times before stopping boosting, both out of making sure that it'd stay affixed and out of the fact that judging where you're gonna end up when you're spinning at such a tight loop. The pause in the boost, in addition to Momoko letting loose of the wire once more, set her on a trajectory back towards the stone she had come from. This would be followed by the hardest part: as she'd start to head towards this direction, she'd recognize that the wire was going right next to her and, while still in the aftermath of the speed boost, would swing her own body around its axis with the help of her free hand to create a simple overhand knot. Finally, she'd use the launcher's cutting mechanism to release herself from this creation and would land a several meters away from Tsuji. The landing wasn't clean. Momoko had to stop herself from falling over with her free hand. The world would spin around in her eyes and she'd feel sick in her stomach. She was also almost certain that the bracelets on her right side would be running low on gas now. Going so hard at that attempt might have been a mistake, but that would depend on how Berna could follow up on it. She still had enough wits about her in this dazed state to yell something at him, just in case he hadn't recognized the opportunity. "N-now!"
If she'd fail to catch either of the legs, the boost that was meant for wrapping around them would instead start to start swinging her towards a set of pillars in the direction that Tsuji was facing. She'd be able to stop boosting as a panicky response, but anything more than that would take a moment to decide...

As Jace had hoped Tsuji didn't pursue him as he scurried up his pillar, instead staying where he was in his defensive position while Jace jumped from pillar to pillar, keeping track of his ursine peers scent so he himself didn't get turned around. And then he waited, hiding while keeping track of his very patient fellow student, whom still remained in the same position. And so, instead of constantly trying to keep track of Tsuji, Jace instead focused entirely on hiding, content that Tsuji wasn't moving. Unfortunately, this turned out to be slightly careless as when Jace did go on the prowl, he'd smell the air as he leaped off the pillar, only to find Tsuji wasn't where he'd been, instead now in the center of the pillars. This required some maneuvering, but nothing too bad, and despite the misstep this was still very much an ambush.
Tsuji for his part did react rather fast, but unfortunately it wouldn't be fast enough as Jace jumped to his side. The bear was wide open, and Jace ignited his upper body as he leapt forward, trying to hit Tsuji with his flaming arm. And then to Jaces shock, the giant bear pivoted like a dancer, before swinging his leg backwards straight towards Jace's face. He couldn't change course, couldn't stop, all he could do was watch as Tsuji seemingly ignored the flames as his roundhouse smashed into him and his flaming body, and this time the cat boy did not land on his feet. Instead he crashed into the earth, rolling from the force of the blow before ending up sprawled on the ground, his flames dissipated. For a moment he just laid there, before he let out a moan as he shakily lifted himself up and rubbed his now splitting head before looking at Tsuji. You're huge and strong, AND you can turn like that?! How is that fair!? It was the first time he'd really spoken during the match, and true to form instead of something cool it was instead the exact opposite.
But as Jace whined at Tsuji for his bear like grace, he didn't quite realize what was happening at first. He hadn't been keeping track of Momoko's scent, having been so focused on Tsuji. But now he saw what was happening, the movement around the bears legs, the glittering of light as something wrapped around them. Jaces expression went through a lot of changes, going from upset, to confused, to surprised within the span of seconds. But he also realized something else, something was about to go down. Jace could feel the tingliness on his skin where he'd ignited himself, not painful, not even uncomfortable exactly, just really tingly and warm. The boy couldn't regrow hair in these areas as long as it was warm like this, so he took up a very strange and very cat like action in the middle of battle. He licked his hands, rubbing them against his arms and chest, cooling down his tingling skin and allowing him to reignite. And as the tiny girl yelled at him to go, Jace didn't need telling twice. The ginger boy would ignite once more, getting on all fours before dashing towards Tsuji once more. But even with the possibility of him being tied up, he didn't want to charge him head on. Thankfully, Tsuji had placed themselves in the perfect spot for this.
As he ran towards the bear boy, he'd once again leap to his side. But this time it wasn't a simple flanking maneuver, instead leaping unto one of the many pillars surrounding them as they were in the center, using its leverage to try and get as directly behind Tsuji as he could. Then once again he'd pounce, but this time he actually going for a swipe. Instead he'd try to wrap himself around Tsuji, trying to dig his claws into the fuzzy boys thick hide before fully igniting himself everywhere, trying to burn all of Tsujis back and chest as he was wrapped around him. But he also didn't plan on sticking around, attempting to springboard off Tsuji after this, hopefully pushing him to the ground and allowing Jace to and get away before any retaliation could happen.

As Tsuji landed his blow, he braced as the impact smacked Jace across his now-whiskered face, and as he slammed the cat boy with a mighty blow, and landed his foot back, the cost of this offence had resulted in some less-than desired blowback. The fur on his leg was singed, embers still on it; no doubt, his leg was burned. He could grin and bear it, but that was the least of the issues at hand. Jace landed in a bad state, and was... less than stellar about it. "Hey, I'm getting... a two on one here, I gotta make up for it, right?" he said, pausing a bit from the burning sensation. However, tt was also at this point, while he was talking, that the counterattack from Momoko was in full swing, quite literally, in fact. It appeared that since her disappearance, she'd been preparing from afar, and swung a pretty dense rope around the weakened left leg. The wire dug into the marks, causing Tsuji to cry out in pain, but he simply clenched his teeth and bided. This wasn't good. He'd have to do something pretty drastic in order to get back the advantage. Momoko seemed pretty messed up from her move, stumbling about on the floor, however her call to Jace signalled yet another attack. Third Count couldn't cut it at this point, the defensive sacrifice was too much. Jace kept leaping around, not so fast that he couldn't see, but being a cat-based quirker could have some advantages, like their agility, and especially claws. He took a leap to Tsuji's side, but then changed this direction, now out of his sight. He could try and turn again, but in order to get a good blow, he'd have to pivot around, and since a right would be more favourable, he'd need to pivot with his left, which would worsen the pain. As he thought about what to do, he realised: if Jace was going to come from his behind, then- It was at that moment, that Jace's attack began. Wrapping himself around Tsuji's back, gripping with his claws, the bear felt the burning sensation on his fur, reaching onto his skin. Smoke poured from his back, and with a scream, Jace let go, trying to kick off of him. Big mistake. For the first time, in a while, there was something inside Tsuji, something, like his back, was burning. A veritable well of emotion that had not been tapped by the ursine student in a long time: it was Rage. Enough was enough, it was time to make a stand. Summoning up all he had, he turned around, pivoting his right leg to avoid further damage to his left, and grabbed the boy by the scruff of his outfit with his left arm. Still moving, he tossed Jace upward, and pushed off the ground using nothing but his bear strength. The burning fire on his back was not an attack, it was a wake-up call, as it empowered him, roaring through the pain. Grabbing Jace in mid-air, Tsuji would attempt to not only send him careening down to the ground, but to try and solve this back problem temporarily. “TAKE THIS! WATERFALL DROP!” he yelled out. Holding onto his clothes rather the hair-based skin, the bear would pull apart his grip, not so much to let go, but just enough to begin spinning. He would have the cat in a direct downward motion, trying and keep it at a straight angle. Just before hitting the ground, Tsuji would let go of Jace, and the resulting spin would send him away from the boy, on his back. After the attack, the bear dug into the grassy mound he had made with his impact, using the dirt around him to plug up the fire, and cool the burning down. It wasn't much in the long run, but for the battle, it was just enough. Pushing himself up, he began to breathe more heavily, almost a pant, but he showed little sign of stopping.

Everything had worked out. Momoko had managed to capture one leg, Jace managed to follow up on it and, most importantly, neither of them followed up on her as she tried to cope with the fact that the world was still spinning in her eyes. Thankfully she didn't feel like puking either, the mask would make that one awkward. She stayed on one knee as yet another clash took place, powering through with the words that that hero student had shouted out moments before, in her thoughts. "How is that fair?""It's not. Nothing's fair."The Pressure Bracelet on Momoko's right leg came off with a click, as did the one on her left arm. She switched their places swiftly, readjusting the ones that were more depleted from "right side" to "upper half". Having the boosters on her legs work at full power was a much higher priority. Losing somewhere around half of the wire in the left launcher meant that the small girl would have to squeeze out everything that this gear had left in it to have a chance. "No matter what you're born with, you work hard and make it work. And you have to do that."The spinning was calming down. Momoko took one deep, sharp breath before raising up and facing the battle once more. "Otherwise you'll never make it."Berna kept getting hits in, but the giant bear wasn't budging. The catboy didn't seem he could take much more of what Tsuji had to offer either. Even with the burns that had been caused, it seemed like Momoko couldn't afford for another session of hide-and-seek. As an additional note, it was only after Tsuji started to get up from his drop attack that Momoko noticed an unusual expression about him, a one that she hadn't seen in the entirety of the time that Momoko had known him. It brought back the feeling of uncomfort that Momoko felt back when she had first arrived at UA, when she had to be in contact with a good deal of animal-mutation people for the first time. ...she really didn't want to approach him, but it couldn't be helped! She'd yank on the wire that still lay right next to her as hard as she could, hoping to, if not make him fall over again, at least disrupt him as he was trying to get up. "Oi! Good job staying in the game so far!" The first comment that Momoko made in the battle, enhanced by the speakers in her mask as to not have to shout, was a cocky call-out for what was about to come. The decision to include it in the outfit had been a great decision: the small girl could keep her bravado up without having it fall apart by simply seeing how worried she actually looked. "Get ready!"She'd take a running charge towards Tsuji's position. It was just a normal running charge, with no boosters or help from her grappling gear. She'd approach him, but wasn't planning on attacking first. Instead, she was preparing for Tsuji's initiative as the person with longer reach, putting her chips on her own ability to react and avoid it. She was hoping for a further opportunity out of it... and if not for her, then for Berna... should he still even be in the game. In the case where Tsuji would, for some reason, decide not to attack, Momoko would simply run slightly past his legs and turn around. Being on that site would in the end be better for as long as he didn't do anything about the wire... and if he did, that might present another opportunity.

For the first time in this entire fight, Tsuji was fully and truly open. His one leg burnt and wrapped in wire, the other the only thing keeping him stabilized, he couldn't retaliate the Jaces flanking this time. And Jace took full advantage of it. But while he probably got the biggest hit in he had all match, things started going awry afterward. Jace didn't know much about Tsuji, only what little he saw of him in class, so he truly didn't know what his personality was like. But while he didn't know whether it was out of character or not, he fully recognized the anger in his scream as it went from a yell of pain to that of primal rage. And while this only made Jace want to try and get out of there even more, his reactions unfortunately came too late, Jace's attempt at jumping off just bearly failing as Tsuji turned just in time to grab him by the collar of his school gym shirt. Pure terror and panic were now fully set into the boys eyes, being held aloft as he kicked to get free from the bears grasp, unsure what was too happen. W-Wait!! What are you-?!And his unfinished question was answered as Tsuji threw him into the air. At first Jace was confused, both due to being disoriented from becoming unwillingly airborne, and also on how this was an attack, the bear boy not throwing him particularly high up nor in a way that it'd be difficult to recover. And then suddenly Tsuji was with him in the air, and as he grabbed Jace once again by his collar panic once again set into the boys eyes as he realized what was about to happen. This bear was about to send him rocketing to earth. Head first. That got Jace active, he clawed at Tsujis arm and face, trying to get him to let go. ARE YOU CRAZY?! LET GO! LETGOLETGOLETGO! Hé couldn't stop the hyperventilation as the ground got closer and closer, nothing he was doing could get the bear boy too lessen his grip. But suddenly, the ursine bomber finally released his grasp as they were mere moments from crashing, spinning to his back out of Jaces sight. As for Jace, he tried his best to lessen the blow. His gymnastic training let him know how to land from falling and lessen an impact, but unfortunately the ideal time to do that was not seconds away from crashing. So instead he used his arms to cover himself and tried twisting just like Tsuji had, creating his own spin so as to roll with the landing. But no matter what, it wasn't going to be a pretty landing, Jace smashing and rolling to the ground in a heap. Just as before, he struggled to get up, and just like before he succeeded though this time he was much worse for wear. The collar of his shirt was torn, his forearms bruised from absorbing some of the impact from that crash landing, and panting heavily. He was definitely near his limit, both stamina and endurance wise. One more big blow like that could be the end. And as he looked up, his eyes went wide when he looked at Tsuji, his floofy and pointed ears turning flat as his tail went straight and pointed. Tsuji, for just a moment, looked almost feral. But then he saw something else too, Momoko charging forward, no tricks, no gadgets. The surprise of such a straightforward charge from someone who had been fighting in an even more hit and run way than he had been was jarring, to the point that he relaxed somewhat, his tail no longer straightened and his ears returning to their normal, poofed up state. Still, he doubted she was dumb enough to actually be trying to fight the bear kid head on. But whatever her plan was, Jace wasn't going to be a part of it. At least, not at the moment. As the look of Tsuji with that feral look played back in his mind, and he stared at the burns on the bears body and being fully aware of the state he himself was in, instead he retreated this time, climbing a pillar to watch Tsuji. He was backing down from another confrontation, but it wasn't just fear from the dangers of Tsuji that was causing him to do this. He was watching Tsuji intently, and those burns he had. While the ground might have stopped them from spreading, he had two very bad burns and he wasn't going to get off of them that easily. Much as Tsuji had shown his feral side, if you looked at Jace right now you wouldn't see a nervous or terrified boy watching. Instead, with his piercing eyes breaking through the shadows of the pillar he was on and his claws glimmering, it was like a predator watching its prey, waiting for its chance to strike.
