Sure, any normal, reasonable person would find being a custodial engineer the least desirable job to mention. No one wanted to clean up their own mess, much less others. "Sure, I mean there's always something better." she would admit it, perhaps there was something else she wanted to do. "I prefer the hours where few wake, plus the silence of it. Maybe in a world where quirks didn't exist, I would be a security guard of sorts, but here, in a school of quirks, that position would be pointless, and with a much higher risk. At least with my skill." she turned to face the clock behind the register. It felt like time was flying by, but it seemed to also be frozen. Kasey thought nothing of it and turned back to the girl, breaking another chunk of her meal. "If no one wants the job, then my place is secure. I don't need to worry about being laid off, provided I continue to do my job." she would smile, feeding herself the scraps she was given. There wasn't much for her to plan for, much less expect as a janitor. More people, meant more mess. At an elementary or a high school, the mess was the same, with or without quirks. ~ 212 ~

"Oh so you would rather have a job where fewer people are out, like the wee hours of night? I don't think I could work that late, I get tired really easily," Chise said with a nervous chuckle. "A security guard of sorts? Who's to say that a security guard in a world like this would be useless? I'm sure there are places where security guards are needed, not everyone had a quirk capable of protecting themselves. It might be fun to patrol the school at night and watch over everything until the students and teachers arrive the next day," Chise said with a bright smile, trying to keep the mood bright. How would she know if the world needed security guards? She thought it was fun to imagine. She listened to the other talk a bit more about the janitorial position that U.A. had, "Well...I hope you get the job and that you have no competition over it. It seems like you really would like this job...even though it's not the most favorable," Chise felt like she was sinking the conversation right then and there, maybe she should just stop talking.
Chise watched as the girl looked at the clock, making the girl think of a few different reasons as to why the pinkette was staring at the clock: the was growing bored of talking to her or her break was ending soon. Chise hoped it was the second option and not the first. "A-Ah my name is Chise...I don't think I ever said it..." Chise said with a sheepish smile on her face, hoping she hadn't weirded out the other in any way with what she said.

She nodded along as the girl spoke. It was true for the most part. But Kasey's quirk was not for protecting people, much less herself. Anytime she used it, she would injure herself. Even if she could help others, afterwards she would need her own medical team. She thought about trying to do anything with her quirk, but that was a ways from her reach. "The name is Kasey. But you can call me Kas." she would say it with a smile. She wasn't sure what else to tell the girl. They had only just met. "It's why I keep taking the jobs. Job security and all, plus I don't mind it. Kinda soothing to be stuck in the silence. Sometimes I even-""AMBER, YA BREAK IS OVER." the baker from the back would call out to her. "FINE, IN A MINUTE." she would say with a smile. She didn't like just ending a conversation like that. So she would offer her means of contact. "We should talk again sometime. Uh, my number is like, IM-BONES, but like with the number buttons. Anyways, gotta split." she would take her bag of her goodies and lift it to her mouth, pouring and emptying the contents into her mouth. She had hoped to continue her talk with the girl another time, perhaps after work. She would get up from her chair and spin around to rush to the back room. "Are we going to clean the stoves now?" the voice of the spirit would ask. "Oh! I hope so! " she wanted to eat all of the little burnt bits. They were always the best part. And with that, she would return to work. ~ 282 ~

It was good to finally know the pinkette's name instead of mentally referring to the other as the pink haired waitress at the new bakery in town. "It's nice to meet you Kas," the redhead said with a smile. She was about to speak up as well until she heard what seemed like Kas's manager call her back to work. She was a bit sad the other had to go so soon, it had only seemed like the two of them talked for five or so minutes when in reality it was probably longer than that. Chise listened as Kas told her her phone number, well not directly but instead giving a hint as to what it was. "A-Ah ok!" Chise said quickly getting her phone out. She was about to begin typing Kas's number but heard the other girl had to go. Chise looked up and spoke once more, "I-It was nice to talk with you!" Chise watched as the pinkette grabbed her bag of snacks and headed off back to work. Chise figured she should get going as well, might as well let someone who wanted to sit down take her seat as she had been sitting there for long enough now.
Chise stood up and brushed her pants off before picking up her closed box of goodies. She made sure she had everything she brought in with her before making her way towards the entrance of the store and heading out. Chise was happy she could talk to the pink haired girl, she seemed quite nice and she hoped they could talk again soon. Chise had to make sure she put the other's phone number in her phone as soon as she got home. "im-bones...im-bones...im-bones" Chise mumbled to herself so she wouldn't forget. She hoped that Kas would get the job, it might be nice seeing a familiar face around campus. Perhaps she could even make some snacks for the other girl for both of them to share. The redhead walked with a pep in her step and a smile on her face as she made her way back to her home, wanting to share her treats with her parents. Chise had already begun thinking of various things the two could talk about if and when they met again.
