Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ Sounds like there’s some major stuff going on around here then…? The golden crown of Miss Gilbert dancing in the wind as she found herself looking over the entranceway she had approached the building through a few hours ago from a perch on the rooftop, the blonde beauty couldn’t help but feel a little overwhelmed by all the information that had been ‘dumped’ onto her, and definitely in need of a chance to rest and reflect. The smart business dress gone but her coat remaining as she mulled over the details that she had heard in the briefing, the flighty femme had covered up the hero costume beneath with her loose outer garment so as to preserve the discretion she had shown earlier on, and now found herself looking out over the cityscape and skies that surrounded her to help herself relax and digest everything that she had been told. Semper Fi? Rogue soldiers testing toys on unsuspecting civilians? Arriving a little ‘late’ to the party in terms of Japanese-based heroes and as such not involved much in their early operations, the talents that Grace had for flight had also drawn her away from the capital in order to make better use of her free ranging abilities, and while she had always expected to return to the Tokyo area this felt like something of a startling arrival really. Naturally grabbing a few rumours of the stuff that had gone on in the country prior and during her early arrival but the true details of this particular event making her deeply uncomfortable, a part of this platinum haired protector felt guilty for not being around for the event, and not being able to do something about it as a result, but mostly she found herself in a state of disbelief. It’s hard to think members of the military would be so cruel? Not exactly a military nut but having a certain unspoken respect for members of the armed forces because of the fact that she knew once upon a time her own father was a member of the US Air Force before moving onto civilian flights, he had always spoken highly of his time and that had probably saturated the girl with a sentiment that they were, for lack of a better term, ‘the good guys’. That making it rather a bitter and incredulous pill to swallow to now know what had gone on at that base, in a show of humanity that seemed to defy her often vain and attention-seeking manner, Miss Gilbert couldn’t help but feel rather disappointed, and somewhat angry as well. I bet it only broadened the divide between quirkers and the rest of society as well? Empathetic to the plight of those who possessed peculiar qualities like herself, for the most part Grace had been feeling pretty positive with the steady changes she had seen in public perception in regard to quirks, and as such this just felt like a huge kick in the teeth because of that. Proud of her abilities and also extending that same pride to those who used their own unique abilities for peaceful and positive outlooks, while the criminal element who took advantage of their own abilities were bad enough, somehow those who would exploit innocents for their own sick games seemed so much worse. Those people… MY people, treated like that?! Disgraceful… In many ways it a good thing the whole matter had been resolved, right now the girl on the rooftop wanted to fly off and sock those soldiers in the face as hard as she could, but she couldn’t. And instead had to settle for slamming her hand on the railing next to her in annoyance… @tag | Word Count: 618 | Coat

Mia didn't care much for what had caused the original Semper Fi event. What should have been an event to try and tempt quirkers to enter the military somehow turned into a way to trap and kill a few of them. Maybe there was more to it, maybe there were experiments going on or something more unique, but she'd just never taken enough interest to look into it like that. It just didn't seem like something worth her time. They'd done something horrible. That was all she needed to know about it. Who cared WHY they did it, it didn't need to register any further than that. Not when the crimes committed where this big. The fact that semper Fi was just being dredged up again in regards to this auction was just a minor nuisance of some kind, hearing it's name again little more than a 'oh, that fucking disaster again?'. It wasn't like anyone involved was actually FROM that shit show so why pay it much mind? In the end, there were bad guys to punch, and a reason to punch them. As far as motives whent that was good enough for her.
When it came time to head into another of the ongoing meetings, Mia managed to work her way out of it. With all the press preperation they had her going through and the actual tactical meetings it seemed they could understand her skipping a less important meeting like this that didn't hold much weight to the grand plan of the raid going forward. So, needing a bit of fresh air, Mia grabbed her roomy Parka and hooked her arms inside of it, the furry neck hanging about her shoulders and her hands resting deep into the soft pockets, just heading up to the roof in the hopes of clearing her head a bit.
"This shit really just ain't for me..."
She knew the importance of it all. She did. Oh by god was she aware of it. But planning just wasn't her style. She relied on gut instinct and raw experience. She pumped iron for muscle, but training for a fight without a full on sparring match? Not for her. Shadowboxing, trained motions, muscle memory? None of it was for her, so even just this small ass attempt to get her to plan ahead wasn't registering. She wasn't against it tho...she knew why it was all important, and she just let out a deep sigh through her nose. She just needed a break...and then back to it. She knew her role, sure, but she had to be part of the process as all the late comers were learning theirs too. Number 1 and all that, even if only by public vote, she needed to make sure she represented everyone well enough that she was taken seriously. Never change who she was but...make sure she wasn't a fucking joke to the officials who actually had a say in how she did her job.
Reaching the rooftop, she'd get there just in time to see the blonde from earlier, recognized by the coat most of all, slamming a fist down onto the railing. From behind it wasn't obvious she was wearing a costume of any sort given she could only really see the back of her legs. Mia shifted her neck side to side with a few satisfying pops, and stepped forward to close the distance on the other blonde, though less flirty than before. "Hope that slam there wasn't a signal for me to get the fuck off your roof, cause I got news for ya, I had dibs."

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ “The railing or the rooftop~?” Startled a little as she heard someone call out to her but luckily her position and ‘autocharm’ allowing Grace to play that fact off rather readily, even as her hand throbbed a bit from the hit she had dished out without her quirk, the violet eyed vixen played off her vexation with cool charm as she turned around and found herself staring at an impressive figure once more. The ‘Red Horn’ returns~? In many ways happy to find herself given a rather sizeable distraction from the thoughts and the irritation they caused her as she found herself with such an intriguing companion once more, in truth the siren of the skies was a little embarrassed to discover that she had been chatting up the woman who stood at the very top of hero society without even knowing it, but was not the sort of person who readily liked to admit or show her mistakes. “Well, for the sake of a beauty like you, I’m happy to share~?” Instead preferring to move on without much of a stumble and focus on things that seemed more important, while it had been a little humbling to realize her ignorance on this front as well, at the very least this particular ‘subject’ on which she found herself lacking seemed like something of a joy to indulge. Naturally hearing the rumours about the feisty femme that was tearing up bad guys left and right and carving out a name for herself, for reasons of her own peculiarity Miss Gilbert had never really looked into the issue all that much, and had made some assumptions about the person responsible that now seemed rather mistaken. I suppose I was expecting more red, and less… Pleasing physicality? Perhaps the western mind set she possessed tending to envisage a demonic figure that subscribed to images of their culture more than Japanese-inspired designs, in all honestly while she expected this top pro to be awe inspiring in her image, what she saw was not exactly what she had in her mind. Not even using the ‘guard’ of her sunglasses like last time as she took a moment to take in the titanic ‘drink of water’ that this woman was and showing a certain shamelessness as she let her gaze wash over those features, particularly the rock hard abs and what looked to be a tightly bound bust, Grace hummed subtly as she spun around and leaned with her back to the railing she had just struck and elbows resting upon it as she showed off her cat-like smirk once more. “You know, I’m honestly quite surprised~?” Smiling and feeling that the stress she felt could be easily ‘vented’ through a form of relief that came so naturally to her, after waiting for a beat or two the girl showed her boldness even in the face of someone that would likely intimidate most people as she began to speak off the cuff, with a definite tone of flirtation. “I had never expected that the ‘beast’ that had been tearing villains apart around here would be quite this breath-taking to behold~?” Not at all threatened by this wall of a woman and instead some mischievous part of the minx wondering just how often someone with her size and strength found herself on the back foot in matters such as this, the blonde could imagine such a brawny beauty coming onto sweet little things like herself quite readily, but could only speculate as to how often the reverse tended to be true…? @tag | Word Count: 591 | Coat

The railing or the...was she asking what she had dibs on. Well that threw Mia a little but not enough to knock her off stride, holding a loose smile as she crossed the distance between them at a natural pace. She'd just came up to see someone slamming a rail in frustration, even if she wanted her own headspace that wasn't exactly something too easy to ignore. The flirting started pretty quickly, but Mia's mind was only half present in it, letting out a slow sigh from her nose as she saunted up beside the other woman, holding idly onto the railing as the two of them had their little back and forth.
"Sharing huh? Pretty sure since I had dibs I'm the one who should be deciding if we share or not." She let off a lax chuckle and shook her head, turning about herself, too tall to comfortably rest her elbows on the railing and putting her hands on it instead, tipping her head off to the side and just meeting the other woman's eyes, even as she seemed to be eating the Oni up with her own. Her own coat was left open rather than zipped up, so indeed her body was majorly still on display, but it was hard to get directly flirty given what she'd just walked up into.
Seemed the other lass didn't have the same issue.
"Oh, finally recognized me huh?" She'd ask as she caught onto being called a beast, a loose smirk on her lips now as she folded her arms, leaning just her rear back into the railing now as she met the eyes of the other blonde still. It wasn't uncommon for her to be recognized, and after giving off her name and...well, a day in a police station full of heroes, it was easy enough for anyone to realize who she was. She narrowed her gaze as she was basically told 'I didn't expect the number 1 pro to LOOK so impressive', a scoff escaping her lips, but she tried to take it as playfully as it was likely intended. "I dunno, I think I still come off pretty beastly once you see me in a fight~" She'd comment with a smirk, folding her arms more firmly about herself...while she did like the praise though...
"How about we put the folding on hold for a second though. I appreciate a nice bit of praise as much as the next demon, but something's clearly niggling at ya. Either that or that railing slept with your girlfriend." She shrugged at the light joke to try and keep things light, but then tipped her head up with an. "In all seriousness...what got ya? This little secret mission you supposedly got get canceled? You get stuck with a crappy side job when you thought it was your big break? Passed up for a promotion?" She rested a hand over her chest. "Ya can tell me, i'm gonna forget by tommorrow anyway."

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ “Well, I didn’t hear anything of these dibs, and was here first so things might get playground pretty quickly here…” Smiling and shaking her head at the reaffirmed demand of dibs that Mia made, while she wasn’t entirely sure if this big and burly blonde was trying to be cute and funny, that was the manner in which she took the statement. “Don’t make my put my hair up in pigtails~” Rather amused to be standing before such an impressive specimen and have the chance to behave like a child, Miss Gilbert licked her lips and then flicked the bunch of hair at the back of her head, feeling rather entertained by the prospect of returning to a time where wore twin tails so cutely. Perhaps she should resume the image once in a while, for her own enjoyment? “Clearly anyone who isn’t seeing the beauty in that brutality deserves the latter~” Largely unsurprised to hear that this handsome, honey-haired hulkette was not particularly accustomed to being told she was pretty but also a little disappointed about that fact, Grace couldn’t help but want to indulge this aspect a little further and see if the old ‘Red Horn’ could be made red-faced by her charm, but it seemed the woman had more serious intentions in mind. “Ohhhh~? You’re quite keen on finding things out about me, aren’t you?” Still not finding it very easy to convey her emotions toward a stranger and as such having to make a little joke as she found herself rather forcefully challenged into such an act, given how she wanted to get to know this fine figure a little better the violet vixen found herself somewhat challenged in her evasion, and sighed softly as she decided to vent just a little bit of what was vexing her to this apparent comrade in arms. “Well fine, since I am such a fascinating subject, I suppose I can tell you?” Still not giving it up without a hint of flirtation and fun, with her head cocked to one side the girl looked toward Mia’s red eyes with a sense of sharpness that softened after a second or two as she allowed herself to relax, and drop her guard a little bit. “That whole Semper Fi thing was news to me? I’ve been out playing coastguard around Kyushu so most of what I heard of Tokyo was rumour mill, and as we said earlier, ‘need to know’?” Admitting the reason for herself being so ‘out of the loop’ as it were with a stronger sense of softness in her voice that betrayed the ounce more of vulnerability that she felt in admitting these facts, while Miss Gilbert certainly didn’t feel like her efforts and talents had been wasted where she had opted to start her career, at the same time she couldn’t help but feel maybe she could have done more if she had been closer to the capital. “And… I dunno, it pisses me off that it happened?” That only a part of things, however, Grace had always felt like she was special for having the powers that she did, and to an extent also felt like anyone else with abilities was as well, and loathed the idea of people of her ‘ilk’ being treated like tools and guinea pigs because of what they could do. “And that I wasn’t there to stop it, I guess?” That feeling of superiority she had also manifesting itself in something of a hero complex as well, which seemed pretty natural given her choice of career, it galled the golden girl that such things had occurred when she wasn’t around, and left her feeling disappointed with herself as well as the people who were responsible for such a torrid affair. Modelling herself as a hero on a woman who seemed to have the strength and skill to do anything, it was a bitter pill to swallow for her to recognise that she herself was fallible, even if she didn’t want to be… @tag | Word Count: 671 | Coat

She rolled her eyes as the playful dibs were so readily dismissed by just getting here first, chuckling at the comment of putting her hair in pigtails. “Not much to work with by the looks of things. At least not if you want Japan level pigtails. Here it tends to be go big or go home with girl’s hair.” She shrugged idly at her comment, but it was true. Thanks to anime a lot of girls had long length hair styles. If you saw someone with pigtails, those were some long ass tails they were wearing on their head. “Besides you don’t wanna see how I throw a playground tantrum. Things get nasty real quick when you’re a kid with the ability to rip the jungle gym out of the concrete.”
With the comment of the beauty in her brutality she had to admit that was kinda nice to hear. She didn’t necessarily wanna use the word ‘beautiful’ herself, but there were a lot of cases where she hoped she looked pretty badass and cool even from an outside perspective, and heck there was a time here or there she’d try and catch the news that night just to see how she’d came off, but she wouldn’t admit that. She knew her own ego and how to control it, but she’d never hear the end of it if she spoke about it hitting such levels. Stll, she handled herself well, and it was a little hard to make her blush. Besides, she did wanna move onto a more serious moment with the other blonde in asking what was eating at her. She didn’t like to see people just pretending things were fine. While her own mentality of ‘fuck it’ had her brush a lot of frustration ‘aside’, that’s where it was. Aside. It didn’t bother her. Seeing someone clearly dealing with something? She’d rather they face it than just try to cover it. “You could say I’m more observant than ya’d think I guess.”
She rolled her eyes with a smile as the woman called herself a fascinating subject, but her pointed ears were ready to listen all the same…ah. Semper Fi was it. Immediately her interest waned just a little, but she listened all the same. She still didn’t know much about it afterall so there was little she could do to relate or offer solace in but she’d still try and do what she could, even if all that was was offering her ears. “Coastguard?” She’d briefly question, quirking her brow, wondering what the coastguard was doing at police HQ. Then again they were about to deal with a raid on shipping containers so maybe something to do with the raid was based in aquatic law? Eh, she’d have to just…see how that flowed.
Hearing her key part of the frustration however, Mia supposed she could relate at least a little, rubbing the back of her neck just where her rough hair started to sprout and under the hair that would have otherwise been in the way. She rolled her head back to just look up at the sky, leaning back on the railing. “Eh, I was in the are and even I couldn’t get there in time to stop anything going on…I mean, it was pretty self contained till the aftermath came. It was on a military base, communication cut off. Imagine trying to even hear about it let alone reacting to it before everything was already over and done with. Luckily the place was filled with heroes in training but…still. I can certainly get the desire of just wanting to…be there, I guess.”

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ “Ahahahaha, perhaps, but having my hair too long would be bothersome when I fly, especially with that style?” Surprised but amused to see that Miss Kearney was apparently something of an expert on twin tailed hairstyles, for a second or two Grace couldn’t help but wonder if this big and burly woman had once worn her hair that way when she was younger, and actually quite liked the image she got in her head because of that speculation. “Heeheehee, you sound like you’re talking from experience there~?” Even more pleased when the brawny blonde noted what seemed to be some personal familiarity in superpowered tantrums, all that the flighty femme could picture now was a miniature version of this woman throwing a fit like some kind of anime, and rushing around as she ripped various things out of the ground as a long pair of ponytails trailed behind her all the way. “Ah, yeah, with my quirk those rescues and interceptions are a lot easier…” Shrugging as Mia questioned her more recent activities and giving the reasoning that had been decided between herself and the folk of the hero association responsible for her assignment, while on some level Miss Gilbert had craved a big city setting like the capital where she could show off and indulge her love of modern Japanese culture, she was at least reasonable enough to understand why they had made the decision they had. Certainly doing some great work with the opportunity, it had been nice to be able to swoop down and scoop up wayward souls from the surf or be the first responder to situations involving quirk-driven hijackers and pirates, whilst things had been difficult in the city that didn’t mean that the countryside or coast had things any better. “I can’t quite match a jet but to be able to fly like the crow, or I suppose the seagull in this case, is quite useful for sea bound situations?” In fact, what with so many souls looking to make a difference setting their sights on the big cities of Japan, there might have even been a sense of neglect that had made things worse out in the open. After all, one man in a seaside town or rural village with a decent quirk could easily outmatch and menace the locals if they wanted to, so things were far from quiet and peaceful there. “I get what you’re saying but… It makes me feel powerless, and I don’t like that?” Nodding at the point that her ‘senpai’ made about the Semper Fi situation and the rational part of Grace’s mind managing to make sense of it, despite that recognition and reason in those words and the outcome, the violet eyed vixen did not feel the emotional discomfort easing to any great degree. “Besides, shouldn’t we be making sure those kids are protected? We’re bad heroes if we’re letting them do the work…” A frown forming on the face of the femme as she thought of the youngsters and their apparent role, while what they had done was impressive, the golden haired girl couldn’t help but feel guilty for making their action a necessity. “Don't we need to be better than that? Kids should be off doing dumb things, not fighting our battles for us?” Remembering her own past and the seemingly invincible woman that had inspired her, Miss Gilbert couldn’t help but feel her disappointment resuming in herself, and a desire striking up inside her to improve upon what they had done thus far… @tag | Word Count: 576 | Coat

Mia briefly pictured the other blonde with longer hair, but with the sharper features of her face she seemed to have just the right kind of hair. It had some…elevation to it that kept it from covering her features, a nice spunky energy to it that still seemed…elegant in some way. Eh. Mia didn’t have the eye for this, or perhaps just not the words to describe it well, and she shrugged the whole concept off idly. Not physically, she didn’t wanna seem like she was dismissing her or something, but the concept of trying to figure out why her hair was right…not something she could figure. “Eh, when I was a kid maybe, but it’s been a long time since anything’s gotten under my skin enough to bring me to a rage.” She did shrug this time, but more casually and just letting out a long, deep breath. “I definitely have some experience with it for sure, but I was so young it’s little more than a haze at this point, foggy memories of giving into rage. Hardly really call that an experience really. She lifted her brow a little as the other woman mentioned her quirk. Huh? Did the coast guard have permission to use their quirks? Not something she’d heard of before but she’d have to look into it. She still hadn’t actually caught on the woman beside her was a hero too. “What’s your quirk?” She’d ask idly, even if she felt the question of using her quirk like that was legal the air felt a tinge too tense for a question like that, so instead, she went for something more simple. Typically people who used their quirks with pride got a nice boost from talking about them. Seemed to be something to do with flight but she was at least curious to hear a little bit more.
At the talk of Semper fi again, Mia let her head hang back as she just thought on it for a moment. She could consider that they were letting kids fight their battles but- “It wasn’t OUR battle though.” She’d simply state, tensing her hands into fists, her knuckles popping before relaxing a bit more fully as she just let the words flow. “Our job as heroes isn’t to fight our own battles. It’s to fight everyone elses. Now, sure, you can tell me we weren’t there doing our jobs, but we also could be. It’s like…blaming the guy at starbucks for not bringing you a coffee when you never made an order. Now, sure, you were thirsty, but he didn’t know that. Those kids were in danger…we didn’t know that. Not till it was too late.”
She let out a sigh from her nose before continuing. “Those kids were faced with their own battle, and they won. One day they’ll be faced with other peoples battles…that’s the line of work they’re getting into. It was a mess. It was something that never shoulda happened…but seeing how fucking CHILDREN handled that…damn I got my work cut out for me staying on top when those lot catch up…heheeh…~”

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ “Heheheheh, I suppose I’m not so well known as Miss Number One yet, huh?” Perhaps a little intrigued by the question about her quirk since she would have assumed that someone at the ‘top’ of the business would have had the time to familiarize themselves with the folk they would be collaborating with, Grace lifted her hands and shrugged as she was given the chance to introduce herself in one fashion or another, and was too happy to give a demonstration of an aspect that defined her. “My quirk lets me control my own gravity… Which sounds like a great way to fool the bathroom scales, but can be pretty useful really?” Stepping away from the railing she had been resting her rump upon and unfastening her coat so as to give a fuller impression of her quirk in action, the blonde let out a slow and steady breath as she activated her quirk to the minimal level she was capable of, and let herself be surrounded by an aura of lilac colour that only those nearby would be able to perceive it. “With the right adjustment, I can throw quite a bit of weight around, or move faster than most animals…” The ‘antigravity effect’ that tended to afflict her body and clothing kicking in only a moment later, those blonde strands of hair that hung about her face began to lift up like a fan was blowing beneath her body, making her locks and coat dance and flicker as they no longer felt the downward pull of the earth acting upon them. “But my first and favourite application of the ability is flight~?” That only the prelude to what Miss Gilbert wanted to do, however, after a moment or two the golden haired girl hopped a few inches upward and then just hung there, somehow refusing that same force that her hair clothing did by virtue of the pale energy that surrounded her. “Are you happy with that? Making excuses for letting kids take on something dangerous?” The heart and body of the beauty seeming to sink when she heard what Mia had to say next, though she too could be laid back in the face of danger, she couldn’t help but feel a hint of disappointment in the woman that she had met now. “I’m not. Hence the anger.” Expecting someone with more fire and feistiness, maybe she had imagined more of Americana in this woman than she realized, and a lot more of the old vim and vigour than she saw. That the image of a hero that Grace aspired to be and also what she would expect of any other as well, she couldn’t help but think less of someone who seemed happy to shrug away their role and responsibility so casually… @tag | Word Count: 466 | Coat

“Hm?” She’d start, wondering why her being number one had anything to do with this, but as they stepped away and unfastened their coat, it definitely clicked. “Oh. Right. You’re a hero. See these are the kinda slip ups that can be made when you don’t tell someone why you’re in a police building.~” She smirked a little and rolled her shoulder back, assuming she was about to get a demonstration and not minding in the slightest. She tipped her head off to the side, watching her start off the antigrav effect, a smirk quirking up at the mention of the scales but little more than that, her own position still pretty lax as she was given the display.
As she stepped into the air though…Mia was confused. She tipped her head to the side and just watched her stand up like that. “Er…is gravity what this actually is or like, an excuse for the shit your pulling? Like how a kid might look like they’re using electricity but it’s just some weird energy thing that acts different? Cause not gonna lie, it doesn’t look like what you’re doing is a gravity thing…” Maybe it was just her interpretation of it, but when she pictured flicking about with gravity, you tended to fall in one direction, or, you became weightless, you didn’t just…hover. Eh. Whatever the explanation- “Cool quirk all the same, just curious.”
As things when back to the kids, Mia took a firm sigh through her nose and rubbed at her shoulder. “Do I wish I coulda been there? Yeah. But it an excuse ain’t bad if it’s true. Making up an excuse, fine, fair enough, that’d be horrible…ACKNOWLEDGING an excuse. Knowing for a fact I could not have been there unless I was literally there when it happened? That’s what I’m doing. Your putting weight on your shoulders. Your making up a reason to feel guilt and anger. I’m looking at the situation as it was. I’m angry. I’m angry at the fuckers who did it. Sure. No point beating myself up though.” She pushed off the railing and stretched her arms over the back of her head.
“I stand by what I said. It’s our jobs to fight the battles of others. They aren’t our battles, but it’s our job to handle them…” She let out a slow sigh through her nose and crossed her arms firmly over her chest. Her blunt view of the world could piss some people off, but it was always gonna be how she viewed things. “Those kids shouldn’t have had that battle, but they did, and we didn’t know about it till it was too late…be angry all ya want hun, ya got all the right to be, just be angry at the right people, and about things WORTH workin’ ya self up about. It’s gone, it’s past, nothing ya coulda done about the fact you literally heard nothing about it till it was over…but ya can make sure anyone who got away pays. That’s something worth putting energy into.”

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ “Heh, true, but I didn’t know you weren’t some kind of big and beefy honey trap back there, did I~?” Winking at what she assumed was a joke from the woman and resuming the manner that came most naturally to her, while it was important to talk about serious issues and the like Grace was certainly more comfortable showing her conversational charm, and this was something she enjoyed given the contrast between herself and this far more down to earth girl opposite her. The personality clash not the only thing that intrigued her either, as she let that unguarded gaze wash over the fine form of the femme the violet vixen couldn’t help but wonder just how they might mesh together physically as well. “After all, with a red hot bod like that it’s like you were made in a lab to seduce me~” The sight and strength that Miss Gilbert saw in it making a little fantasy in her mind of the two of them being able to act upon their impulses without restraint, it would have been nice to use everything her body was capable of in a moment of intimacy without worrying about hurting her partner, that was for sure. And if nothing else the ‘Red Horn’ looked as if she was the kind of woman who could certainly take as good as she gave. “The mechanics I’m not strictly sure of… Science isn’t my strong suit really?” Tapping her chin as she found the mechanics behind her mighty means being challenged by Miss Kearney, Grace had to confess that this was not something she could boast any high level of expertise in. “But that’s what it was classified as when my quirk was registered?” Disengaging her quirk as she considered the matter and floating down to the ground in what was an effort to not leave her tempted to start pulling off feats of fancy to show off, the golden haired girl hummed for a second or two as she tried to recall something about an explanation for her ability she received as a child that would help, but largely came up short. “I just know one day my mother found me floating around the nursery, and I found these other gifts along the way?” This perhaps something of a surprise given how new quirks were in the world, in her experience assignments and explanations were as much art as they were science, and for the most part Miss Gilbert was happy without really knowing too much. “I love the skies so as long as I can shoot through them, I don’t really sweat the small stuff?” Much more interested in the ‘what’ than the ‘why’ as far as she was concerned, the lilac eyed lady loved what she could do, even if she couldn’t fully explain exactly how it was she was doing it. “Heh, now that’s a little more like it~” Perhaps realizing as their conversation continued that she was letting her irritation cloud her judgement but ultimate glad that the sharp words she had used had seemed to inspire a little more ‘bite’ in the beastly beauty, having grown up with a strong sense of admiration for women who boasted grit and a lick of flame within them, Grace was happy to see that Miss Kearney was not so different beneath them despite her more laid back exterior. “For a second there I was worried that our best and brightest might be a little lacking for fire in the belly~” Feeling she would have been unable to truly respect a woman ‘above’ her that was lacking for the ferocity and determination that she sensed in herself and her idol, it was reassuring to know that beneath those still waters something hotter and more tempestuous bubbled away, and honestly, the girl couldn’t help but wonder just how wild the woman before her could get if she was given half the chance… @tag | Word Count: 656 | Coat

“honey trap!?” She’d scoff out through a grin, just in utter disbelief that term of all things had been used to refer to her, throwing her head back with a more firm bit o’ laughter. “Hah! First time I’ve been called that I’ve gotta say!” She snickered a little longer but it didn’t last too long, it was a bit of a stunning term to use if only because of how unique it was, but eventually just lead to a pleasant little sigh as her system rebooted, so to speak.
She’d hold her proud smirk to earn such a unique little compliment as she was given the more blunt compliment of a ‘red hot bod’. “Well beautiful, if your face is as dazzling as the rest of the goods, I might be a little nervous about tryin’ to compete here. Shame that coat’s not doin’ ya many favors though.” She’d give an idle wink, trying not to get too serious given where they were, but feeling she at least owed a compliment in turn given the ones thrown her way.
She didn’t linger too much on the mechanics of the womans quirk. Afterall she didn’t understand the SCIENCE behind her own, she just knew how it worked on a gut level, it was only hearing she defined her own as gravity control that Mia wasn’t too sure how that sounded, but hey, if some egg heads said that’s how it works, its how it works. “Fair nuff.”
She chuckled a little at the story of how she discovered it, smirking a little as she shook her head and leaning back on the railing again, resting a hand at the back of her neck as she twisted it about to remain comfortable. “Musta been quite a handful, a kid who can fly about on a whim.” She’d chuckle again and think on the image. She herself had been easy to manage at home but- “For me it was the teachers that got the rough end of the stick. Try stopping a kid stronger than you from kicking the shit out of their bullies. Fair enough on not sweatin’ the small stuff though. Definitely how I approach life too.”
At the comments of her having more fire in her belly, she gave a small shrug. “You try being all fired up after a day of boring meetings. Trust me hun if I see the scum that pulls some of this shit, they’re meeting the rough end of my fist, but why depress myself over shit I couldn’t control. If I’d heard about it, and I wasn’t fast enough to get there that’s on me, but I needed to have even heard about it to have shit worth kicking myself over, ya know?”

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ “Ohhhhh~?” Smiling and feeling a temptation to turn up her flirtatiousness up a level as their conversation continued, Grace cooed at the admission of this towering woman and couldn’t help but wonder just how cute a woman with such an impressive physique might look if she made her some sort of whimpering mess, and opted to act on that impulse. “You really have been hanging out with the wrong kind of girls then, haven’t you~?” Taking a step closer to that tall titaness and lifting her hand up to the cheek of the Red Horn as she spoke with a soft and girlish tone meant to convey a sense of playfulness and intimacy, the bold blonde felt her pulse quicken with excitement as she let her fingertip run down the cheek of her companion in as teasing a fashion that she could manage, and made sure to bat her lashes a little for extra emphasis as well. “Oh really?” The fair haired fox certainly finding herself flattered at the compliments that she received as well, Miss Gilbert grinned as Mia pointed out her pretty face and speculated over what might be beneath her coat, and almost felt spurred enough by the inquiry to strip the item off right here and let her fellow femme take in her other attributes that were currently wrapped so tightly in her hero costume. “Well, I suppose it is sexier when it’s the only thing I’m wearing~” Opting to refuse that impulse in full for the time being but certainly taking the initiative in flaunting herself a little more, the golden haired girl licked her lips as she ran her hands up and pulled the neckline of her coat down, showing off the purple colour of the costume she wore and a hint at her physique as she left it to hand around her shoulders whilst holding the coat in the middle, all to hint at what an epic sight things might be had she been a little more exposed underneath it. “Oh no, I was a good girl~” Batting her lashes again when the two of them began to compare their respective backstories, even though her current manner and state of dress might have implied otherwise, the blonde beauty was wholly being honest when she admitted that she was far from a troublemaker when she was younger. Perhaps something of a rarity in an age where people of strange abilities were new and often misunderstood, Grace and the powers she had possessed had been met with a high amount of positivity from her parents, her father especially. “My mum found it a little scary, but my dad loved it… He’s a pilot, you see?” Eagerly remembering the trips they took out to nice quiet spots in order to help her practice and show off what she could do, it had been these experiences that had seemed to start her thirst for attention and propensity for showing off, and had always helped her to feel positive about the abilities she possessed. “So he probably just felt like it meant I was a chip off the old block, so to speak?” Always feeling a much stronger connection with her father because of that, despite the fact he didn’t seem to be in her life even half as much as her mother was, Mike Gilbert had been the first person that his daughter had ever admired and remained a strong influence on her now. “Heheheheh, aw, have those things worn you out~?” This never more apparent than in the reflexive charm she possessed, that alluring and amorous tendency was something that the airborne amazon had inherited more from her dad than anyone, and perhaps in one way or another was a ‘role model’ behaviour she relished mimicking. “Makes a lot of sense…? A woman who looks as good as you do is wasted sitting in an office~” Following in the footsteps of her father eagerly in that regard, Grace was all too happy to share her ‘heat’ with the woman nearby and let loose even more teasing words because of it, silently wondering what a figure as big and strong as Mia Kearney might do if she got a little frisky with her… @tag | Word Count: 704 | Coat

As Grace leaned up to touch her cheek, Mia, as much as she was still enjoying the flirting, didn’t think it was the time or the place to kick it up any level, so even such an innocent touch was halted, holding up two of her fingers between her cheek and Grace’s hand, gently pushing it to the side before it made contact. “Ya know I’ve got a pretty wide palette when it comes to girl. A buffet approach even. I guess you’re just that kinda fine dish you’ll never see on the buffet table.~
Mia’s brow did perk up however as the other woman seemed to find another way to kick it up a little though, but Mia’s own inability to take it further just left her with a light chuckle and a shake of her head, in disbelief of this woman’s forward nature and her bravado in pushing the teasing this far. It was easy enough to picture the hero costume wasn’t even there, and Mia couldn’t help but let slip out “Bet it’s even sexier when it’s on my floor…~”
“Eh, I was never a problem for my family, but for my school I was a little shit.” Mia would readily admit without an issue. Her family was loving and supportive, she’d never have caused them any issues if she could help it. “Still when you’re a kid who generates adrenaline it’s hard not to be a little rascal in some respects. My parents though…they had the ability to handle me if I ever got out of control, the few times I did. Your dad was a pilot ya say? Mine was a miner. Really had the muscles to knock me down if I gave him shit while I was still young!~”
At the final line, Mia let out another chuckle of a sigh. “Geeze woman, is nothing out of your lips anything but a subtle tease?~” She’d smirk back, clearly just playing along a little still, crossing her arms over her torso and tipping her head off to the side. “Seriously though…with all the shit the other heroes can give me it’s nice to see one who isn’t all doom and gloom or, business business business. Kinda like…a breath of fresh air I guess.” She smirked a little and chuckled as she added. “I’d offer you my card incase you ever wanted to work together, but I’m hardly the type to have ‘cards’!”

Are You... Holding Out For a Hero~?
❝ She's sending some mixed messages, huh? A tiny little knot forming in the brow of the blonde for a moment or two as she found the gentle teasing touch she attempted being pushed away, given how well they had been getting on and how they had been trading these playful comments thus far, she couldn’t help but feel a little bit surprised and perhaps even a bit disappointed as her deed was denied. “Oh, you’re quite the charmer beneath that rough and tough exterior, aren’t you~?” Not lingering on this for terribly long and showing very little sign of that dissatisfaction outwardly of course, as their dialogue continued Grace sustained her charm all the same, though this was more like an act of autopilot or something along those lines. “Oh my, Miss Red Horn, I believe they call that inappropriate workplace conversation~” It certainly seeming like something of a contradictory situation as the conversation continued and next the giant woman nearby was commenting on matters so coquettishly, though it confused Miss Gilbert to be confronted by such a cold then hot response, she opted to go with the flow and responded with a little teasing comment of her own to keep their rhythm going. “Good job we’re outside, hm~?” Definitely feeling a little bit rejected by the action of Mia but at the same time the sort of girl who relished the ‘chase’ as much if not more than any kind of finish, while she took that little sign of physical distancing as something to mean that this mountain of a mama wasn’t all that interested in getting physical, that did not mean she couldn’t play around a bit more and have a good time in her own way. “Adrenaline, huh? Come to think of it…” Slipping her coat back over her shoulders as their little chat continued and the red horn confessed a little more of her history, a sudden curiosity about her companion seemed to seize as she realized that she had been doing all the showing off so far, and couldn’t help but want to even the score so to speak. “I’ve shown you mine but you haven’t really shown me yours, quirk-wise?” Humming softly as she strutted back to the railing and gestured to demonstrate her openness to the idea of letting the titanic temptress have a go of it if she wished, while certain attributes with which the top hero had been endowed with were quite obvious, Grace couldn’t help but wonder if there was more to who she was and what she could do than what met the eye. After all, this woman had asked about the deeper meaning in the skills she had shown, so maybe that was something her quirk had in kind? “I'm sure you'd agree there's nothing wrong with being a little friendly now and then, is there?” Wrinkling her nose a little and grinning when next her own wickedness was commented upon by her companion, given how such behaviours were so ingrained into the girl by this time that she had an easier time letting them flow than turning that ‘tap’ off, Miss Gilbert had little explanation for why she remained so habitually flirtatious in the company of someone who interested her. “Oh well I’m sure if I ever wanna grab your attention, I’ll just distress somewhere and expect a hero like you to rush to my aid?” The news that Mia was interested in giving her card or something of the sort in order to arrange something in future certainly something that seemed to amuse her as well, though the little moment of non-verbal rejection in the minutes before meant that our lilac eyed lead was no longer quite so sure if that was something she wished to pursue in future, neither her charm or sense of opportunity would let her admit that. Instead playing the issue off with a whimsical coolness and wondering what the fates might hold for their pairing, while it might be fun to take such an impressive specimen for a ‘test drive’ at some point, it was not something that the blonde beauty did not feel any strong urge to beholden toward if things did not work out so well… @tag | Word Count: 696 | Coat
