Émile's lips pursed at hearing Tachibana mispronounce his "name", but he was quick to down that reaction away with a quick sip from his glass. He'd set it down on the table as leaned forwards once more, leaning onto his hand as he listened to what the woman had to say for herself. It... wasn't exactly the response he was looking for. There was some useless ramble in there, but the bottom line seemed to be that she was bored. She had completely ignored Émile's breaching attempt and had stuck to her guns. Perhaps Émile had been wrong with her initial assessment...
...or that's what a newbie would think! But now Émile wasn't born yesterday, hitting another layer after the first one wasn't something that would stump his mind now that the gears were turning. Tachibana's response had been unexpected, but at the same time it still fell in line with his assessment. Her assuming that Émile had dismissed this entire room of people, some of whom were quite clearly pro-heroes (unless you happened to have lived under a rock and/or were completely blind), just because he had dismissed the woman before her was telling. It also provided Émile with a new angle to approach this situation.
The older man betrayed a small chuckle at Tachibana's college comment. "Quite a career student, am I now?" He swirled the glass in his hand, gazing at the liquid for a small moment before returning his attention to his conversation partner. "...bored is not the right word here, Ms. Tachibana. But I am here to have a good time, and I can assure you that I am planning to walk away from here with someone." He gestured around the room. "And unless you haven't noticed, the selection tonight has higher standards than usual, so it's nothing personal, really." Another sip of the wine was taken, just a small one like before. He wanted to keep drinking, but at the same time he couldn't afford to get too drunk. Not yet. "But you're right about horoscopes. That much I can admit. But it does make me wonder why you would bother to wear something related to such nonsense."

If a friend suggested this sort of thing to Wagyu, then they seemed pretty wacked out on something, dude clearly wasn't super up to it. Chiyuri could get that, a lot of dudes worry about this sort of thing. She'd just have to guide him through it, that was all. “Fair enough if you got put up to it, it's usually cause some girl wants you to 'have fun' or some shit, you feel?” she said, taking another sip of her drink. Goes down smooth, she should really visit this place more often. However, what would make or break was Wagyu's reaction to her posed question from before – he was a pro hero, and not only that, but he went pro from being a vigilante! If there was something Chiyuri didn't like more than stuck-up news-chasing heroes, it was sellouts. She held herself back, trying not to ruin the experience for anyone else, but the thoughts and her personal vendetta got the better of her.
“So lemme get this straight – you used to clean up the streets, kick ass an' shit, but then you went and became a pro instead? Are you for real, bro? Man, you better not be one of those media chasing asswipe heroes, who only pick off thugs for the cameras, straight up. I hate those sorts of posers, heroes are meant to be the kinda dudes you can look up to and shit, ones that are relatable, like someone you could know from your block. Shit, man.” Chiyuri kept her voice down, but her tirade was straight from the heart, pros were a shitstain on the real heroes like her and a bunch of other guys. But this was meant to be a happier occasion, so she made the initiative to apologise, just for a moment. If it turned out Wagyu was one of those posers though, she knew who was paying the bill.
He did however seem interested in her music, which was always welcome. “Money's tight, but I make it work. Mostly create beats for others to use, but if no one's buyin' I just use them to jam out, or I take em, mix em, and rap over them. Check DJ Triple S on LoudMist, I got some bangers on there, for real.” she said, but with a small twinge of annoyance – Chiyuri still wasn't sure about this guy, he was a pro, but there was something about him that seemed different from other ones she'd come across.

Delta remained watchful, grinning eagerly as she observed the participants in their various different states. Some took to this kind of thing much better than others, easily flirting and delving into the social aspects of the task without much trouble. Others had a degree of stiffness to them, far too business for Delta's taste! Hopefully, the alcohol and atmosphere would loosen up a few of the more serious contenders. Others were just plain awkward, which the four-armed bartender simply found adorable. There were few things as cute as grown-adults - particularly those who looked oh so mature - fumbling about like a crushing teen.
There were also those who took more... Unique approaches to the concept of speed-dating, though Delta wasn't about to tell anyone how to have fun. Whether or not anyone actually got together didn't concern too much, so long as they enjoyed their time enough at the Fourth Corner to mention it to a friend, or any other behaviors good for her business.
Checking her timer, it looked like these first pairings were almost up. It didn't seem like many sparks had flown yet, though Delta did spot a bit of chemistry in the playfulness between the green woman and Latino heartthrob. Not wanting to spoil any moods, Delta simply waited to announce the next rotation, eager for what awaited.

Oh so he does wanna get laid with some random ass broad looking for a good time. This older sounding guy is at least smart in what he's looking for: the easy ones. The ones that would go for anything. Anything. Aaaaaaaaaany thiiiiiiiiiing. Anyway, how the hell would he even get it on, considering he sounds old as shit. Does he like pay them to do some dancing or...pff, god he's gonna fail tonight. Has he heard the other girls here? God they sound horrible. Especially one that sounded shrill, something about that voice just seemed off. Who knows, maybe she's the fated low hanging fruit this guy will get lucky with tonight...and do weird ass stuff with.
...Should she turn on her quirk and grab the guy's throat?
...Naaaaaaaaaaaaah.
"...Right." Higher standards huh. Interesting. To her, what are higher standards? Well maybe a job, have a body, can die from acid...oh no wait that's her standards for killing. Actually, they don't even need a job, she would just kill them right there. But...and here is a big but, as much as she wants to kill all willy nilly, gotta have some semblance of self restraint here. Which sadly means she has to listen to this guy go on about his quest to get his dick wet.
"Hmm?." She fidgets with her earrings. "Ah right, these. Eh, Sorry. I'm not selling them. Graduation gift from a long while back. If you want your own to give to some girl they're probably selling them on the streets." She replied back with a somewhat amused tone. Nice eye, guess he's not that old of a coot. "Then again, with you looking for a good time, you might just get someone attracted to whatever you're wearing." She has no idea what this guy is wearing, she chose to be blind today. But it's still fun to say stuff like this, to get a rise out of people. She takes a sip out of the drink. "Blah, not bad...think one time during a job, they served this kind of stuff. Similar taste. Not much of a fan though, not gonna lie. Think that one drink served here..uuuh...something rancher had more flavor than this." She shakes her head. "Is it almost time? I wanna see who else is here. No offense to you, but I feel this whole rotation has been going for a bit longer than intended."

{ } Tony made her laugh softly, she obviously did not want to disturb the others but she found him funny, maybe it had not even been his attention to be funny but his casual talking surely made it funny, "I bet your days can contain much more hard work than my daily paper work." She grinned though because yes, paper work could be tiring too probably not so much as actually using your stamina but don't underestimate the dutiful civil servant. She brushed her black hair behind her ear when she caught a word that was not Japanese but she understood none the less and it made her blush a little, even if not everyone did not have anything against her green skin, she did not receive much compliments because of it, her parents did but that was not the same. "Well thank you, I take that as a compliment." She smiled happily as her eyes looked at Tony. So it was Spanish, the word he mentioned before, idiotas, she actually liked it, might keep it in her vocabulary for a while. Her smile turned shortly into a surprised o before grinning again, "How manly to admit you are a sucker for romance novels and movies, I bet not everyone dares." But she liked it a lot, shame he liked swimming as she could not really stand the ocean, her skin did not really work well with that unfortunately, he asked her the question back, which in her eyes was a good strategy for the short amount of minutes they had. "I like to snuggle up in a blanket and read a good book with a good cup of tea." She smiled, "That truly makes my day at the end of a long working day, but I also like to just learn about new stuff and go for walks and so on, something to keep telling myself that I don't have to work every single minute of my life." Hearing Momo's soft laugh, Tony could not help but smile at how cute she sounded. Upon hearing her next words, Tony began to laugh softly as well. "Ah yes. Well you're not wrong, but I would not take paper work too lightly. Before becoming a pro-hero, I knew the pain of paper work all too well. It's never something to be underestimated." Ah, the days before Tony took the name of Wildheart. So much paper work. Not that he regretted those days, but he was immensely relieved at the fact that he could now do more than just sit in an office all day.
Tony smiled upon seeing her blush and thank him for the compliment. "Of course! It was intended as such." Because again, only an idiota would look at this lady and think anything negative regarding her appearance. "You'd be right. A shame some men think that such a thing is something to be ashamed about rather than something to confidently brag about, the cowards. Their loss." He then listened to Momo talk about what she liked to do. Just thinking about how relaxing that sounded made Tony smile. "Ah, that sounds like a very good time! Now I want to give that a try." Of course, it sounded even better if he were snuggling with someone. Now that would be delightful!
With how much attention he was giving Momo, Tony had almost forgotten that this was a speed date. As such, his time with her was almost up. It was a shame, as he was having such a good time listening to her. Perhaps the two would get to chat some more in the future? Still, this was pretty fun, and Tony was glad he decided to give this speed dating thing a shot. He looked forward to seeing just what kind of ladies he would chat with next, and if they would prove to be as interesting as Momo.

It was nice to hear, that Freyas transition to working in Japan was simple enough. "Ah, your little brother lived here before you moved in?" That was a clear advantage. And despite being the sort to swear casually, the lady was very courteous about him going off briefly. "Sometimes, it just feels very necessary. There are always people, who you would be ready to sacrifice anything for." He crossed his hands and twiddled his fingers... "In my duty I am pretty good at listening to said rants, so... If you have something you would like to say, I can lend an ear." He cupped his ear comically, whilst his face was quite deadpan. His usual kind of humor. "I can be atleast satisfying in that way." A snarky follow-up. Maybe the relaxed air was getting to him.
Admittedly, her hobby was sort of expected. Heroes were always training and for a good reason. He took a sip of water... Admittedly, the fact that she had recruits caught his ears. "Hmmm... You are very quick in action." Hadn't she moved here quite recently, and yet she already had some recruits of her own? "Were you very popular in America? I hope I am not being too nosy... I just like hearing this sort of things." The air had brought his hidden side, that came from listening to people so much: He loved rumours. Even if they weren't true, they would make very good story material to tell the children, as well as entertaining things to remember. "Admittedly, you do look like someone, who would have a dojo of some kind." He said in a praising tone. Responsibility on top of being a hero! always admirable.
Then, she proceeded to ask him a question... And it was something that for some people was common knowledge. But in that regard, it was even more important for her to know it. "Yes indeed. Most of them are heroes, and quite known ones at that. For example... Do you know witch doctor?" A slight proud grin grew on his lips. "She is a good friend of mine, and a nurse at the school. Very knowledgeable." A person he had switched information with almost on a daily basis. Good thing about working in similar fields. "To be honest, I think the only non-heroes in the school, are me, and the principal. Although, don't quote me on that."
He tapped his chin, as he looked at other tables... Come to think of it, there were other teachers here as well... Most of them people he hadn't interacted with that much yet. "This is certainly going to be an interesting evening from all sides..." He took a sip of water... guess it was the time to ask the bigger question. He wasn't sure if bit of the ladies rum had mixed in his water accidentally, or if he was just feeling a little bit bold, but he felt like getting it over with before it was too late. The lady was quite a beau... believable option for what he was looking for, despite her brashness... "I am sorry if this question is funky, but... What do you think about children?" He tapped his finger on the table. "Would you see taking care of them and teaching them things more as a nuisance or a blessing?" A pair of very, very hefty questions indeed.

“He came over for a semester in college a while back, so it makes teaching a bit easier…”, Freya answered as she takes another sip of her drink. This dude is a real talker when the words start flowing. He is also honest with his thoughts once you get them and it’s no surprise that his job involves this sort of thing. “I’ll keep that in mind for the future, gotta talk out the stresses of the job to someone.”, She says as she chuckles with his little gesture, it does show that he is easing up on the conversation. Pretty good guy is the aura he gives off once he starts easing up on the formalities.
“Just a few connections and a reputation over in the west traveled overseas, most of em are like me or quirkless… I assume my personality is what stuck out to em and just stuck the title of captain, though I’m surprised that people took well to it…”She recalls as she remembers several incidents of chewing out heroes who weren’t doing their properly in front of civvies. Another incident ended in a one-sided fist fight with a pro who was out to save their own skin by blaming the victims. Seems like people like a hero who is blunt with their thoughts these days. Though her saying these sorts of stories would probably drag the conversation longer than it should with all the details. His question about having dojo did stick out to her, as much as she would love to say yes but she ain’t exactly qualified for that stuff yet. “Nah but I know a few people who do, My fighting is a bit more wild than the average hero…But I do my best.” She accepted the praise as she thinks about her little training session with Red Horn and how she got her ass royally kicked in seventeen directions. Still there’s room for improvement on that one.
But then it was his turn to answer some of her questions and learned some interesting tidbits of info as a result. Thankfully there is a few pros here as a result and from what she could get from Mosas tone of voice, that academy is in pretty good hands. A good number of teachers are at this event and it shows that its either the school being real strict or the teachers are just busy as hell considering they’re both heroes and teachers. She mostly listened intently as she took another sip, making a note to talk with this Witch Doctor in the future for work. The Riot Division is always up in arms and she needs tips on providing aid because that skill is damn useful.
“I get that same feeling considering the crowd…”, She agreed as she looked at the other tables. Another opportunity to take another sip one could say, one could say that this is a bit excessive but the night is still young and like hell a few sips of her drink is enough to make her drunk. Though as she took her time, Mosa was being a bit bolder than usual and went with the big question. That's one of the qualities she is looking for in a man, being forward and taking the chance. But that question is something she hadn’t thought about in a while due to work and general uneasiness of the subject. But she kept her cool and gave it a moment of thought. “Quite forward with that are ya? But I’ll play along… Kids are nice, though I can’t exactly say they like me given my looks. But teaching them and caring for em is one of the perks of this job. I sure as hell won’t live forever but damn sure that I could inspire a dozen of em to take my Job better…”, she answers honestly as various memories of some lil kid would always saying they wanna be like her and always get all happy and shit when she answers that they can be more. But it does bring her joy and its one of the many things she enjoys about her job, aside from kicking ass and saving lives.

Aeris Leon Pro-Hero || Fantasy || Danse de Fee Quote Here Aeris listened to him talk a bit about his book. It seemed like a great story if not something of a classic. But she was more glad to see the solid man loosening up a bit. Literature really seemed to be his liquifier. As she brought her hand back her thumb quickly shuffled through the edges of the pages. Getting a quick and satisfying sound of paper separating and snapping back down. "This is The Botanist Guide to Fictional Flowers. Sadly it's not an erudite novella, but it does keep my interest during stake-outs and waiting for the Chase. For instance, The Dyson Tree. It is a Hypothetical genetically engineered plant that could grow on a comet. There are a few theories on what would be the base plant to begin experimental trials on, and a few who beleive it would be the true step one of terraforming a planet. In that case, I personally would see the Dyson tree as repsresenting a transformative beginning. Like a caterpillar stopping to build a cocoon."
She moved the book slowly in front of her as she thought on how she should answer his question on if she was tricked here as well. She could tell the truth and say No, she was here to actually try finding a match using the law of averages and to get over her ex-boyfriend who would be released from jail next week. However that would most likely hurt his pride a bit more. Time to weed out the possible lies. Say that Orlov convinced her it was a Speed Book Club dating thing as well? Nah that would be too easy to see through or he would find his "match" and her life at school would be weird. Right now her flirting was a friendly part of her personality. Perhaps she was here to spy on a villain who may have joined trying to gain information on the Pros in attendance? No. That would just put him on edge when he met with the one woman not a pro-hero here. Just really came here for a drink? Nah that wouldn't explain the dress. Ahh the dress. "Well, I was slightly tricked myself. I was told this was a psychology peer review group. After I looked up what I was actually signed up for, I decided to just go for it. Even if this is not our first plan, romance can strike up in the most random of situations."

TOTO, I DON'T THINK THIS IS A BOOK CLUB TOBIAS GAVE HIS COWORKER A POLITE SMILE The librarian listened attentively, his hands clasped in front of him. An entire book dedicated to fictional flowers? How absolutely wonderful!
“How whimsical,” he remarked, without a note of disdain or drollness. The idea on its own was fascinating—that someone could dedicate an entire book to flowers of their design and imagination. Even if it was just a pleasure-reading book, it was such a unique book to choose. Tobias wondered if it was indicative of a more fantastical side to Ms. Leon, or if it was indicative of a love of plants? Either facet was one with which Tobias was unfamiliar.
The gentleman swirled his wine before taking another sip—aware that Aeris was entertaining another response, but uncertain of what she was responding to. Her confession caused the igneous gentleman to crack a smile, a faint laugh rumbling from his chest. A psychology peer review group?
“I suppose this is kind of like a psychological study, in its own right,” he remarked, inclining his head. He wondered what one would study in a psychological study of speed-dating. The self-confidence of participants? Percentage of time spent talking about oneself, in a male-versus-female assessment? There were so many possibilities.
He didn’t address the remark about randomly finding romance. Had it not been for the obsidian shell that encased him, Tobias would have blushed at the tips of his ears at the shear thought.
“Is psychology an interest of yours?” Tobias persisted, “If my memory serves me, you teach… foreign languages, right?”
Ms. Leon was turning out to be quite the Renaissance woman.

Wagyu nodded to Chiyuri’s assumption. “She’s worried that I don’t get out enough, so I suppose you’re right…” He replied, sipping his drink the same time Chiyuri did subconsciously.
It seemed she wasn’t a fan of his career choices, though. It didn’t surprise him, there were more than a few quirkers out there who weren’t huge fans of vigilantes ‘going legal’. Crude as she sounded right now, he could tell she was being polite, but he could see the emotions in her eyes.
“At least you aren’t calling me a pig,” Wagyu sighed. “No, I don’t have any interest in personal fame. I took the offer because the orphanage I grew up in, well, it’s not doing so well in terms of funding. Never has, really. Getting arrested would’ve only make things harder on them, and the pay certainly helps as well.”
Sure, they disagreed on the hero topic, but at the very least Wagyu understood what she was saying about it. Music, on the other hand, he just did not get. His attitude and hair weren’t the only things about him that resembled an old man, after all. He tried his absolute best to listen anyway, but all he could really respond with when she was done was just a nod. “I’ll check it out, I guess.”

It was at this point where Émile's interest started to wane. There was no progress to be made here. As much as it pained for him to admit, his initial assumption had been wrong after all. It was the most likely explanation for why none of his moves had had next to no impact; the other person, as they had stated, wasn't playing at all. Obviously nothing would work if that was the case. The older man let out a small frustrated sigh as it dawned him. So it truly had been a waste of time. And if the other person was here simply to kill some time by insulting the desperate crowds that normally vacated these events, it meant that only one of the people in this table had gotten what they had wanted out of this exchange, and that person wasn't Émile. "Hrmm..."
Émile pulled reeled his thoughts back into the event at hand as the time for rotation drew near. "...I suppose it is. Very well then. Until next time, Ms. Tachibana."There was no hint of the playful tone from before, but rather his parting words had a hint of resignation to them; not the kind which cursed the world for your loss, but the kind that a victory would come some other day. And perhaps it would. Émile didn't take kindly to losses like these.

Huh, a pro hero and liar too, perhaps. Chiyuri heard Wagyu's words, but didn't truly believe what he was saying. However, this was a happier occasion after all, so her feelings were kept under wraps for the most part. “Hmm, must have been harsh as an orphan, that sucks man. At least you got one thing to fight perps for, I guess.” she said, trying to – no pun intended – squash the beef between them. Hence the music plug, the big bull was a little softer than he looked, so some chill jams and a few bangers could help him out. But still, that comment about pay was pretty sus, no matter the sob story coming straight from the dude. Orphanage or not, sellout's a sellout at the end of the day.
Chiyuri finished her drink, as it seemed as their time was coming up to a close before the next batch of dates would begin. “Yo, minotaur man. Keep it real, you hear?” she smacked her fist against her chest as a sign of respect. It was something she used to do back in NYC with her friends, to give them an edge in whatever hard thing they were coming up on. Hopefully he'd take it to heart and get the meaning. He might have sucked ass morally, but he was still coming here against his will. The least she could do was make him more comfortable, in her own way.

Just when things were starting to get somewhat interesting, the participants of the speed dating would find their time having run out, signaled by the bell at Delta's side, which she gave a few quick dings to get everyone's attention.
"Alright everyone, that's the first round up! Ladies, stay where you are. Gentlemen, please all rotate to you right so we can begin once more. I do hope you all make sure to keep notes and numbers of those who catch your fancy the most!" The four-armed woman proclaimed with a chuckle. The next lot of pairs was going to be another interesting mishmash of different walks of life, philosophies and personalities.
The fairy woman was being paired up with the silver fox. Quite the high-brow duo, one might think. However, that didn't necessarily bode well for them, as Delta had seen such pairings be both compatible or incompatible depending on the stubbornness at play. The green woman would trade out the confident Spaniard for the much shyer bookworm, while that exotic hunk himself would be paired with the most awkward of the female guests. A fiery lass might just cook all that beef, and Delta had no idea what the pairing of the priestly man and the blind woman might bear.
It could only get more interesting from here~
New pairings are as follows!
1. Aeris - Emile 2. Momo - Toby 3. Chiyuri - Tony 4. Freya - Wagyu 5. Libra - Mosa

Wonder what the guy's face looks like. Wonder if he has a look of...confusion or disgust on it. Or maybe he's fed up. Hey man, join the club. Just 5 minutes or however long this round was and it felt like 2 months has passed up. 2 months hearing this guy trying to get it on with people who sound younger than him. Speaking of sounding younger than him, he sounds disappointed. He sounds a bit glum. He sounds a bit angry that his way to get laid isn't happening so far. Perhaps he'll get lucky later. Theres bound to be someone here who would get with him. Don't fret, old grayhound or baldhound or whatever your hair situation is, youll find some floozy to bang one day. Just...hold your breath on that.
She waves goodbye at him without looking at him (because again, blind. Like hell is she gonna turn on her quirk at this stage, it's kinda fun to experience a full speed dating event completely blind) as the lady voice spoke up again. Ah, great, she won't stumble awkwardly to the next table. She just gets to stay here and relax drinking this shit tasting drink. Bet it isn't even red, the audacity. Shitty ass...white wine or whatever. Dunno. She might be getting a bit tipsy from drinking it. Hmm. Nah, nothing to worry about...oh right, forgot. Before he left, she made sure to let him know by waving a card in front of his face. "In case you need a lawyer." She says, somewhat teasing but still serious enough. He'll probably not take it. She'll know by the lack of presence of a card in her hands in a few seconds.
Alright then...who's up. Who else will she have the pleasure of seeing-pfffffff, that never gets old. Alright, on with the new shit. Some shuffling is heard, and soon enough a new guy was here with how they approached the table. Alright then, put on some form of interest. She forces a neutral smile as she adjust her glasses. "Hello there." She says, sipping some more wine. "Nice evening, right?" she lies, bored but still trying to appear like she's having some ensemblence of 'fun.'
