Well well, she sure was fast on the draw. He had been following those thugs since their score, wishing to see where they would end up. Unlucky for them, he didn't know she was on the night shift too. Perhaps he wouldn't have directed the thugs straight in the middle of the park. His coal would have been way worse, but getting punched by something similar to a jackhammer sure wouldn't feel any better.
The black wolf hopped down from his hidey-hole in a tree right behind the other hero, curiously and amusingly spectating the brutish beatdown of the two thugs and their capture. The small cloud of coal around him slowly sticking back onto his fur.
"Well well...ain't ya a ray of sunshine for these poor men's souls." Tyson announced his presence in a perfect British English accent as he slowly approached, paws not making a sound. "If I knew you were on call this night, I'd have taken the day off and went for a beer. Nice to meet you, by the way. Blacktooth." Better introduce themselves before she went ham on him too. He had been told she was quite...volatile. Typical for someone coming from America to be that bold yet capable of greatness. "So it is true. The Oni does not yield. snrk"
Man, typical of him to be all playful around people too. He just couldn't help it. He enjoyed his current work way to much to be all serious and grim and gritty like other heroes were. He stopped a few steps from her and extended his hand for a shake. "Heard great things about you."

As she slammed down a punch on the latter of the two thugs, knocking him down to the ground, Mia quickly stepped up to grab the purse she'd saw them steal a few blocks back before she'd really started to chase them and get them somewhere a little safer to fight, namely this park. Normally this kinda petty crime might be best left to the police, but given the late hour and the lack of other crimes going on, mia felt it was a good enough way to use her night shift. The most that it had done to her is hurt her knuckles a bit, and even then, that was more due to how hard she was punching than the punks themselves...
Flexing her hand out, trying to find the memory of which way she'd come from so that she could make sure to get this purse back into the right hands, a voice caught her attention and she shifted her gaze over her shoulder. The fluffy looking fellow who was sneaking up on her earned a narrowed gaze, but not much in terms of worry. If he was someone dangerous he wouldn't have mad ehimself known so readily, and beyond that he seemed to be showering her in compliments. Her being on the night shift meaning he didn't need to come out? Mia connected the dots quickly enough, assuming he was a pro her. With his hand offered, she tucked the purse under her arm and took his paw, shaking firmly.
"Out late 'on the job' yourself huh? Would I be right thinking you're a pro hero too?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest, ignoring the whining, groaning sounds of the two punks behind her for now. "Name's Red Horn, professionally at least, but from the sounds of things you already know me. Blacktooth was it? You knew on the scene?"

"New to this scene, Sunshine, but not too new in general." The wolf replied with a grin, circling the other pro. "I am not a particular fan of the night shift, but I do have to admit that my fur blends in pretty well."
The hero stopped walking as he leaned against the first availabe light pole. "As per your second question, you made quite the reputation for yourself, Sunshine. Though I'd say not for the usual things women are known for."
Blacktooth glanced at the captured burglars. "Want me to call the blue shirts for these two and the purse?"
The wolf seemed sly and playfully mischievous in nature, with a particular knack in weird nicknames. Aside from his obvious accent and the fact he was speaking with her in english it wouldn't be hard to guess from where he came from.
"Actually, are you done with your shift here? I wouldn't mind taking this conversation somewhere more private? As much as I enjoy your company,Sunshine, there are a few unwanted guests I would like not to know details about our lives."
And so he waited, tail wagging, to see if the other hero would humor him or not.

"Don't call me sunshine." She quickly snapped back about the nickname. She didn't fancy having cutesy nicknames from men OR women. She was a beefy gal and she owned it, a nickname like 'sunshine' almost sounded demeaning. Like a boss calling their secretary 'toots' or 'sugar', it just didn't sound right for her. Still, he seemed to be a fellow hero at least, so folding her arms she at least continued to offer him the courtesy of giving him the time of day. "Night shift's not my slice of pie either. I still do the work don't get me wrong, but I'm definitely the type to prefer an audience..." Not something she was ashamed to admit. Mia ever the type to own up to who she was rather than hide it. Probably something that both got the hero board's attention AND one of the things they now most hated about her.
Assuming he learned not to call her sunshine twice she'd listen to his answer for her question, smirking a little. "Yeah well I'm hardly your usual woman. Got a horn sticking out of my forehead for starters." She scoffed a little at her cheeky comment, shifting to stand a little more comfortably, glancing over her shoulders. "Yeah sure. They tend to get a bit pissy when I call them for clean up...I ain't on the best of terms with most of 'em." She rested her hands now in the pockets of her hero costume, waiting for him to make the call.
In regards to her shift. "Er...I think I earned a break at the very least. Why not. You got a place in mind?" SHe gestured for him to start leading the way out of the park, at which point she'd follow behind and let him choose their destination.

Tyson chuckled. "A spicy one eh, Miss Kearney? Texas I assume?" the wolf replied, reaching with his paw up to his ear, where an advanced earpiece/microphone duo lied. He tapped twice on the device's logo and waited for the gadget to lit up. "Yo, mah main man Shiro." He esorted in perfect japanese and with a theatrical behaviour which, all things considered, seemed to be his normal. "Alrighty mate, I need your cleanup crew...yeah, two little thugs and a purse, nothing serious...nah even if they had quirks I doubt they'll wake up soon...no, I did not explode the whole block, no fire...yeah turns out I got one hell of a left hook, one-two!" He made some punching motions. "Ahah. Yeah. I'll take her spot in no time. Come get your package at the park, I'll take 5 and then resume my route. Cheer's mate."
Another tap on the comms device and the call was ended, back to British English. "Done and done. You know, if you were less...hm...less all "bwaah" and "Pow" and "Kablam!" (for each of these expressions he followed by mimicking punches and explosions) you might even get a referee in the police department. Keyword might. Can't blame 'em cops for being mad at us. We take their job and then wreck the city while doing it most of the time. Especially since we can no longer us-know that I have nothing to do with the begala ban." He poked fun at himself. In the end, everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect.
Tyson snickered once again, casually strolling towards the park's exit. So, the hero with capital H decided to humor him. "Right this way, Suns-uuuh...Miss Kearney." He corrected himself, making sure to give another look at the slumped up thugs before setting his eyes on his next destination. With his fluffed up tail in a slow wag and his sleek black coat shimmering in the moonlight, the black wolf hero led his partner in "crime" a block away before turning over his shoulder to check on the other Pro.
"So, how's the whole N.1 Hero workin out fer ya?" Again with his small talk. "Try to not get yourself lose eh? I know you ahve to keep your distance from me and all that mumbo jumbo. Wouldn't want to let passerby think we're on a date or something..."
Aside from his shit eating grin, Blacktooth naturally transitioned to a cool pose so that a passerby civilian with their phone out would be able to get a nice photo of the black wolf, then casually kept on walking.
"Not that I would mind it, mind you that is, but I feel like it wouldn't work out. I'm clearly not your type-AND THERE IT IS!" Blacktooth stopped and made a "tah-dah" gesture, showing the other hero a nice looking pub. "The absolute finest super mega awesome best pub in town! Fancy a pint?"

Mia immediately wasn’t getting a good impression of this little fox man (given he was an anthro, and black furred at that, all she noticed was the general face shape and the tail, and thus, she thought he was some discoloured fox rather than a wolf). He seemed…cheeky. Cocky. Very in your face with the energy he presented. She backed off a little and narrowed her gaze, her tusks pushing up over her top lip a little more as she felt she was getting the impression of the call he was making. Taking credit for her take down for starters. Mia was modest in her own way, she never took credit for the work of vigilantes, but she also burned with fury at the idea this guy was taking credit for her work. With a quick motion, she snatched the earpiece out of his ear and bellowed into it. “Send the paperwork to Red Horn’s offices.” She spoke clearly and precisely, tossing the earpiece back to him with a huff out of her nostrils. “Cheeky fucker…” If she wasn’t getting booze out of this deal she’d be leaving him behind right then and there…but she really fancied a drink.
The fact he almost called her sunshine again didn’t do him any favors.
Her eyes narrowed as he went on about a police Referee. If she really needed to get in touch with the police she was on good enough terms with one or two who were fans with heroes to know she could get something done, but what the fuck was this guy on about. “Begala Ban? The fuck’s a begala?” She asked rather bluntly, his odd choice of words just throwing her off entirely, not even sure what he was trying to communicate there.
At the question of the number one hero thing, Mia narrowed her eyes. She’d been following the radio news show that was ranking the pro heroes but it hadn’t even started getting votes officially yet (cause this thread started before the hero rankings) “Er…I ain’t number one yet mate, but I’ll take it as a compliment….and..god just shut the fuck up.” She brought up a hand and rubbed her eyes. “You’ve already got a warning on the nickname, do you REALLY think it’s a good idea to joke about the couple thing?” She aksed, but she wouldn’t make a big deal of it beyond the question, shaking her head and pushing into the bar while he was busy taking a photo with a fan. Normally she’d offer a photo too, but this wolf’s energy rubbed her all the wrong ways.

"Oh please. It's obvious. People absolutely love you, wherever you go or whatever you do. Official or not, you're the face of the Hero society. I envy yet not envy you. That's a mighty big responsibilty." Tyson quickly replied, waving at the owner of the pub and walking to a more private looking table compared to the rest. He took a chair and waved for Mia to come sit, still grinning and snickering. "Also, a Bengala is essentially a weird kinda stick that makes a spark thingy on the end when you take the cap off. It's kinda like a Flare, but it's bigger and has some weird chem mixture inside it. I think Italians came up with that." He was quick on the reply on that matter too.
As they entered the bar, the locale was way bigger on the inside than it looked on the outside, so far, it was styled as one of those fancy pubs, complete with a band playing jazz for a live audience currently enjoying their drinks.
Tyson couldn't help but snicker yet again at Mia. "Man, so formal and uptight are ya? I just like to enjoy life and what I have. The world is enough boring and sad without me throwing my own in. I mean, in the end, a few jokes won't hurt anybody no? Besides, something tells me I am not your type." The wolf laughed, but it was true. He would then clap his paws together as the bartender arrived and slapped down a huge pint of beer for the wolf and one for Mia. Apparently it wasn't the first time the black furred hero had come there. If anything, it looked like he was a regular. If there was any doubt, the tip of the hat from the male vocalist of the jazz band playing there as he noticed the black wolf would further cement the fact.
"Oh, by the way, treat yourself with anything you want. It's on me. Eat, drink. You name it." He stated, taking a sip. "After taking down those two, you might like some fun and refreshing snack no?"

Mia rolled her eyes a little at the compliments and the assurance she’d be number one from this guy. Normally she’d enjoy an ego stroke like this and play along to it but…Tyson had just been giving the entirely wrong first impressions, leading to Mia feeling that, no matter what, it was unlikely the two of them were about to get along any time soon. “Yeah well we’ll see when the votes are in.” Again, not the response she would have given with anyone else. Tyson gave the impression he was a ‘pleaser’, he’d been cheeky on the radio with whoever was picking up their goons and immediately tried to take Mia herself to Dinner. He wasn’t an ass kisser, no, they were more…grovelly. His energy made Mia think he was probably the chipper slime ball who tried to make everyone think he was their friend while only focusing on himself. Mia could be wrong, and she never wanted to linger on a bad first impression, but for now that was the impression Tyson was earning.
As she stepped into the bar, the scent of alcohol, a pleasing and oddly relaxing scent for Mia, was soon bombarded by an assault on another of her senses, the obnoxious blaring of a saxophone as some half baked musician played his instruments so pathetically he had to call it a whole other genre. Jazz. Still. Mia steeled herself, and said nothing, her shoulders tensing at the most but not showing her disdain for the music outwardly as she moved to the bar to get her drinks.
With the server putting down big drinks for them, and the other hero offering to pay (not that she wouldn’t have done this if she was paying), she reached over the bar, catching the elbow of the bartender’s sleeve and catching his attention, gesturing to her own drink. “3 more of these to get me even tipsy mate.” Taking that as her order, he nodded and started pouring more drinks, sliding each one along the bar for her to add to her collection, the blonde taking one of the drinks and seeming to throw the whole thing back into her gullet, the whole drink caught in her cheeks, and swallowed in one go before an empty, throthy edged glass was slammed back into the bar, Mia not even flinching as she just took in a drink that normally took others at least a handful of minutes of quicker drinking to finish. “Ah…least the place has decent beer.”

"Oh absolutely!" Tyson replied with a chuckle, enjoying a drink of his own. "Remind me not to challenge you on any drinking contests." He added, taking his sweet time with his own beer. "Alright, so, I'd offer to have some fun idle prattle but I see that I'm not really rubbing off of you the right way. Why don't you tell me something instead?" He offered to shut up and listen. While he was the way he was, definitely quirky in nature, he was observant enough to notice all the little signs the other hero put out.
"It can be anything really. I don't mind. I told you no? I'm not too bothered about things. So ask away to your heart's content."
With that said, the wolf wiped the bubbles on his snout away and started fiddling with the pair of earrings on his right ear, then he adjusted his fingerless gloves. "It's fine if you don't wanna talk too, you can enjoy a nice pint in silence." The black hero would reassure, before turning around as someone tug his tail lightly. Yet another fan. The wolf smiled, waving at the parents of the small kid before easing him up in his lap.
"Ooof! You're a big boy eh!? I bet you're super strong!" He began entertain the kid while Mia downed her drinks and decided what she wanted to do.

Mia was a little curious what he'd meant exactly when he gave her the chance to lead the conversation, but he clarified that his intent was to allow her the chance to ask him something or the like. She didn't mind the chance to shift some control of this from him, since he seemed to do everything except shut up for her...yet at the same time she didn't know what to ask. mia wasn't someone to get deep into another's personal life for starters, and at the same time, Tyson had indeed not left a strong first impression on her, so...did she even wanna ask more about him.
She watched as a kid tugged on his tail, narrowing her gaze a little and flicking her head about, not having noticed they seemed to be in a more family oriented bar. She was far more used to the bars where you'd go to try and get someone to come home with you, so it hadn't even occurred to her they may be at a seperate kind of bar. Ah well. "Well...I don't mind you saying a polite goodbye to the kid before you answer." She smiled at the kid, giving him a little wave. "But how about we start a little bluntly...what has you among the heroes?" She sipped from her drink and leaned back a little in her seat, careful to choose moments where the kid seemed a little distracted by Tyson entertaining them before continuing to ask. "I mean don't get me wrong, I know I got an Ego myself, I like the spotlight, but since the moment I ran into you you're bigging yourself up on the phone, playing to fans...any chance you're more in it for the fame? I mean that's the impression I get."

The kid seemed overjoyed at having two heroes to spend a bit of time with. Tyson game Mia an affirmative hum before getting the child back to his family and hop bac in his seat for a drink.
"Aha, I hope you seriously did not get all grumpy on me for the phone deal. Then again, the fact that it might have been me joking with my real police dude might not be known to you. So for that, I do apologize. As per the hero deal, I am not afraid to say it. I am great at what I do."
He snickered and downed his drink, wavig at the bartender for a refill. "Fame is not my thing really. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but I'll leave the paparazzi and fancy tours of the countries to you my friend. Nah the real reason why I have my hero licence is because I like helping people nothig more than that. Figured since I got blessed with a powerful quirk, might as well use it for somethig."
He gestured at himself. "Not the wolf thing per se. I like what I am, but my black fur is more than a simple aestetic." To demonstrate, he snapped his fingers just above the small candle on their table, the fur of his index turning white as a small cloud of dust was released. As soon as it was heated, the dust cloud ignited in a small flash of a bright orange flame and white smoke.
"My canine phisiology is the only thing my father left me. With the whole social stigma that is around Mutants he...well...he had to leave before I was even born. I'm a brit, in case my accent did not give it away already. There the situation around quirkers is...a bit more complicated.
The coal dust is from my mother, instead of sweating my body produces coal pretty much. As you can see by my index, my actual fur color would be white.
So yes, this does mean my entire body is completely covered in the coal dust I produce as an emitter. Don't worry though, I have plenty of showers! Eheh." The wolf snickered. Another small cloud of coal was released, this time from the hero's hand. It swirled around his index and in a few moments it was back in black, once again covered in coal.
"Having fur allows me to store ten to twenty times what I could keep with myself if I were human, so there's that. I admit my quirk is a little complicated to understand, but basically: big explosions or big flames. I bet you did not even notice my fur was actually covered in powder when you shook my hand."
He offered his hand over again in case Mia was indeed curious enough to examine it.
"I can control this coal as if it were part of me. That's the reason I can have it stick to my body and not bother others unless I want to. The marvel of quirks yeah? I'd say having my body wrapped in such thin coal makes my fur even softer and more fluffy looking. Besides, come on..."
He stood up and gave Mia 360 of his body, probably mentioning the lucid and shiny black effect his fur had. He ended with a grin and a chuckle.
"How cool do I look?"

Mia wasn’t sure she ought what this guy was selling her. The first impression he’d made left more than a simply sour taste in her mouth. She didn’t know what it was really, in part maybe she was just still tense from the fight and working so late, but he just had given her the entirely wrong impression. In her experience people weren’t that chipper and crowd pleasing unless they had some sort of agenda. Sure, Mia herself played to a crowd if she took down a criminal with civilians watching, but she was herself, she roared and bellowed and showed off the testosterone like personality a woman tended not to have. Tyson just…read as fake, and Mia couldn’t quite place why.
She rested on her elbows, listening to him explain he was in it to use his quirk for good and instantly that registered as not the case. Didn’t care about fame but played up to everyone he passed like he was a mascot at Disney world. Just didn’t connect but maybe that was just her cynical view…
That and…anyone who said they were in the hero game JUST to help people…she didn’t trust that. While helping people was a big part of the job and always a priority for her, she fully felt ready to admit it wasn’t the main reason she got into the game, and she refused to believe that, deep down, it’d be the same reason anyone else did. If being a good person was why you got into it, Mia believed it was your guilt at doing nothing that motivated you more than a truly selfless desire to do good. She never voiced this of course, people would die on the hill of being a good person, but Mia readily believed every human was inherently more selfish than not.
“Right.” She simply commented, sipping from her drink. She didn’t have much to say on his motivations, out loud at least, and he seemed ready to shift the topic of his own accord anyway. Seems he wanted to show off his quirk. So he was coated on coal huh? She could believe him when he said that he could avoid spreading the dust as the kid didn’t look at all messy after playing with him…but Mia didn’t trust Tyson not to play a trick on her, and held up a hand to deny his own. “No thanks. I got plenty evidence already.”
Eventually, he’d give a little spin and asked how cool he looked, and Mia leaned her elbow on the bar. “Well as far as heroes go you’ve definitely go a distinct look. Fair few animal heroes roaming around but no wolves as far as I recall. Not even in UA…well.” She paused. “There was that one girl but…she’s more like a neko version of a wolf than a full anthro like you.” She commented, betraying the fact she actually knew the more commonly used terms for such forms of animal people, sipping from her drink again. “As for cool…eh.” She shrugged, trying to smirk a little. She tried to just be a little cheeky, still not trusting him fully but thinking she may as well make an effort to get along.

"Aw come on..." Tyson answered her tease with a playful, lighthearted pout. The coal wolf sat back down in his chair.
"What about you, Kearney?" He inquired, grabbing his next drink. "I'm a quirky dude, I'll give you that, but what about miss super hero here? What's your reason for gettin you hands all up in this business?"
As fake as could seem to others, Tyson was quite genuinely curious to know more about Red Horn himself. "I mean, we all know what the tv says about you. But most of the time they tend to overplay some stuff. I am not asking you your life story, no worries. I'm just curious to know the real reason behind your punches."
He mimicked a boxer throwing out a one-two as he finished his phrase. He paused for a moment, staring Mia up and down. Then he folded his arms together. "Also I get this weird feeling you might still be a lil grumpy at me. So, before the whole quirky thingamagic talk...If there's something wrong, do tell. You are my guest afterall, so I'd only be right fer ya to voice yer concerns. You can be as blunt as you like, I don't mind."

As the question was turned onto her as to why she might be a hero, she was never ashamed of her answer but…her lack of trust in Tyson made her hesitate. Literally one of the first things he’d done was brag to someone in front of her that he was going to surpass her in no time, and that sort of attitude made her a little more cautious…no. She was sticking to her guns. She played well for the crowd, but if anyone ever asked seriously, she’d tell anyone what her reasons for being a hero where. She finished off one of her drinks, laid it down, and rested on her elbows with her eyes turned to Tyson.
“I liked to fight. Simple as.” She scratched her cheek idly s she explained further. “I was always a tough kid even before the strength side of my quirk started to show. Always had the horn, was maybe a little stronger than the girls but on par with most of the boys..and I learned early on, when someone gets in my face, I REALLY liked punching them. See I grew up in Texas. Pretty Christian state…try literally having a demon horn in a place like that.” She shrugged casually, not looking back on the memories with any venom or the like.
“Eventually decking a kid who got in my face turned to full blown fights, and when my strength really started to develop, no one even dared get near me. There was the odd word or two behind my back, but since I’m a mutation quirk, I could never get in trouble for punching them with my full strength any more than anyone else would. Can’t stop someone from using a quirk that’s a natural part of them afterall.”
She rolled her shoulders back idly, getting comfortable. “Anyway, I was never academic, so I left school soon enough. Worked with my dad in a mine for a while…but when idiots who used their quirks for crime popped up, I acted. In part, yeah, I do good for everyone, and it’s a big motivator now, but I ain’t gonna deny it. I was looking for the thrill again. Fighting a normal person is so one sided for me it ain’t even funny…so I fought people on my level. People committing crimes, looking for a fight. I was untrained, and there was a lot more property damage back then…but I took a lot of people in the cops wouldn’t have stopped.”
She sipped from a fresh glass, idly finishing. “Bottom line. When the Japanese hero association scouted me, said I could do what I did but with a legal backing…hard to say now. Was my dream job in a way. Helping people out…and getting into intense fights in the process.”
With a question as to if she had any grievances with him, she sighed and shrugged. “I dunno man, maybe I was just tense from a long day of work. I always feel more energized with crowd too but ya barely get that on night duty…plus.” She flicked the side of his head, hard enough with her strength he’d nearly feel knocked out of his seat. “You literally bragged you’re gonna surpass me within minutes of us meeting. Was that meant to be funny or something? I can’t imagine you’re so stupid you didn’t realize the effect that’d have without meaning it as some sort of gag.”

"Well well well. You sure are full of surprises, miss Kearney. Is that why you want to punch me?" Tyson snickered, pretty interested in her reason for hero'ing. "I feel like there's more to it than we think. But it's nice to know ya ain't big on ego or anything."
He chuckled lightly as she pushed him off balance. He quickly caught the pint he had dropped and used his tail to dump inertia and remain wobbling on two legs. "I like to have my fun and I like to set a hard to reach goal to get you pumped" Of course, he followed with the appropriate gesture. "Besting you seems a nice stimulus to grow stronger.
