all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Maybe she should not have hopped on so eagerly. The reason why she had gone to Kyoto was to avoid everything that could harm her but knowing this was Blue Blitz, it must mean that it was okay right? A Vigilante. The other curious thing why she was here was because it was in Nakano, maybe that was more dangerous than anything else, who knew who was here. The thing was that she had heard no information from Brandon, which she understood as well, maybe he was here, maybe he was not. Maybe HE was here and maybe he was not. She wasn't sure, she did not ask, she was worried, she had to make a decision, she had to tell him that decision but how would he take it? Too much to worry about while she walked towards the address that Hestia or well Blue Blitz had given her, not that she would know that Lady Scandal and Hanako were the same person, she was the assistant. She was doing rather okay lately, after being supported in the hospital she flew to Kyoto and stayed there with her grandmother, it wasn't the best situation but it was a situation and she slept a little better, she obviously had to eat better as her grandmother kept a constant eye on her, it was a bit annoying but as soon as she accepted it, it was over. She had a short meeting at work in the morning before going to Nakano and her grandmother had complained she shouldn't be back in Kyoto too late, she knew that, she had the ticket in her mobile phone, prepared for everything and it was only an hour flight. She looked up the address on her phone and back to the store that she stood in front of; Patisserie Labricotier. She had obviously never been here but to be fair she had never been in Nakano. She looked around the street before entering, it was busy but more like a normal afternoon than anything else. She went to sit somewhere in the cafe, not too far in the back, not too far in the middle, just fine, not everyone had to hear them and it was kind of logical that she sat away from the people that were already there. Hanako brushed her hair over her shoulder put her totebag on the ground and grabbed her tablet and her black phone, time to make the next interview.

Making any sort of meeting with a stranger was already stressful enough when you weren't on the supposed "neutral ground" of an enormous turf war. Yet, Nakano was the district Elena had been in the most over the last few days, and to avoid needing to step away from her work here to go visit some nicer, safer part of Tokyo for a chat, she opted to have said chat here instead. At least it wasn't too far from where she worked, so she could spend the day "fighting the good fight", hop to the host club, then return after dark to continue helping Nakano's innocents...in a much less-than-legal sense than she'd spent her mornings. Handing out flyers and supplies as a volunteer was all well and good but it didn't really get the Yakuza scum off the street. The police weren't the bad guys, but they weren't doing enough. Neither were the heroes to some extent. At the heart of the conflict was those who had been fighting a lot longer and a lot harder than any cop had cared to in the last decade. Vigilantes, even by any other name, were here first, and deserved the credit they were due.But there was only so much even she could do for them, burning criminals nightly. Maybe this mysterious "Lady Scandal" could spread some information and do some real good for the aptly named "Railway Union". Or this could go up in flames.Elena was alright with flames, though, as long as it still got somebody's attention. She came into the cute little pastry shop in possibly the least flashy outfit she could have cobbled together today. Which, as it was, said a lot about her wardrobe. She was still standing nearly six-foot-three in her heels and the bright red hat on her buoyant head of white hair was a big eye-catcher. Whatever. It was still one of her more modest shirts and skirts so flashy or not, she could sort of pass for professional.Maybe.Elena placed her hand over her eyes and looked around exaggeratedly. Lady Scandal's assistant should be around here, and having sent her a message that she'd be "the tallest woman at the shop", it was doubtful that she would miss her coming in, but she had no idea what the woman in question looked like, or why Scandal had insisted that she be so protective of her. Of course Elena would protect somebody--that was the whole point of being a vigilante--but why repeat it over and over? Was she Quirkless? Or maybe she had a really obvious Quirk that attracted negative attention? Maybe she was just weak, or frail, or something like that. Whatever the reason, that was why she'd offered such a sweet little shop far from the conflict.Still not far enough to be completely out of the danger zone, though....her priorities might not have been entirely in order.Eh, lo que sea.

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She got slightly distracted, trying to look up the news about Nakano, but there wasn't much known and it annoyed her. Who would she have to talk to, what did they want, what did they think they were doing. There must be enough going on if the streets were busy or well she eyed the people from the window and she found them all... strange behaving. She went to continue to look on her tablet and try to scroll through some more information but there was nothing she could find. Did she write Nakano wrong? Was the whole district hiding information? She heard the cling sound of the bell above the door, a nice, soft sound, not piercing or annoying and looked up to see, she had gotten instructions from her Lady Scandal account or as she should say from her boss but that was definitely an easy one. But how would you call out to a vigilante that should not be kn-"Hestia?" She gave a wry smile, all acting as if she was impressed, which wasn't surprising compared the height of the vigilante with her own. She was tall indeed, it almost looked like they had the same height difference as her and.. nope, nope, nope, stop thinking! She stood up as she wasn't sure if she as a small fry would be seen easily, she had to hold the table, she was doing well, health wise, she knew that but she was getting rather tired easily. Her beautiful hourglass figure gone, instead she had an obvious baby bump that she stopped hiding, it did not work anyway.
She felt slightly dizzy but she could stand up still till the woman, who had an rather obvious clothing style compared to the white t-shirt and dark blue jeans that Hanako was wearing. She did not judge on that, she was here on an interview, she probably did not walk around that way when she was catching crime right. Hanako was rather curious how the difference would be between her and RedHorn, Mia had been interesting but she could not agree on everything, would this woman know G? Was he alright? She should text him, she had done so, but she wasn't sure what it had changed or made worse and she did not want to think about that. She put a hand on her bump and went to sit down again, oof not too long today, she already felt weird enough after the flight.

Elena almost didn't noticed the name of her online handle being called out, as she wasn't as familiar with it as she was her "hero" name, but the sound of it and of somebody standing up caught her attention. Turning to see the woman in question her eyes--or, well, her visible brown eye--were instantly drawn downward to the woman's stomach. Oh. Oh dear. That was why Scandal had been so worried for her. The woman was pregnant, and quite a ways along as well, if the size of her stomach gave any clue. Or maybe not? Elena didn't know shit about pregnancy asides from the "mechanics" of it. It didn't really matter how far along she was in the long run.
"So that's why she said you couldn't drink!" Elena spoke with a grin, approaching the table she had picked to sit at, and too the chair opposite her own as the woman sat back down herself. Her brightly painted lips matched her hat and shoes perfectly, contrasting brilliantly against shiny white teeth. "Nice to meet you! Though, heh, you don't need to call me Hestia. That's just a joke name. BB or Blue will do, if you want to be all sneaky and top-secret." She crossed one long, muscular leg over the other. "Though I'm kind of the worst at that stuff--I'd much rather just give my real name."
"Do you want to give me your name? Your boss didn't say it. Which I'm guessing means you're either going to give me an alias or just, like, not give me one at all. That's fine. I tend to nickname or pet-name folks anyway, so lo que te venga bien."
Without pause she picked up the menu and started flipping through it. She didn't like sitting still without something to do, and her nerves were making her fidgeting habit all the worse. "Did you see those adorable little cakes they had on the posters? I want to buy one so bad, but like, how do you even eat one and not feel horrible??"

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She wasn't sure what mistake she had made now, BlueBlitz because she was a vigilante gave her a slight bit of security in her mind, especially after Meiko and Anthracite but she would see, she was not really prepared, there was again no back up, no way to support someone and her mind wandered shortly again but she shook it away. She had promised and yet she broke that promise again. She simply stood up, slightly dizzy and weak in her knees but she would be fine, she was more afraid of possibilities than unhealthy, her grandmother in Kyoto made sure of that. Hanako go sleep for now.Hanako did you eat, you should eat now.Hanako..."Ah yes, not allowed for another 4 months." She said with a small smile because damn she did miss her wine but every time she went to the doctors she forgot to ask and internet gave her strange and switching answers that she did not dare to trust it and she hated calling her doctors when it wasn't that important, it might be good not to know for now, else she might finish a bottle even if the answer was one glass. Better not think about that now. "I am never sure if the person themselves want their name being called out." Hanako said, especially as vigilantes were illegal, villains well obviously neither but the only vigilante she knew very well... he did not really use a vigilante name. She simply looked at Elena, she was rather interesting, the way she dressed, the way she held herself, it reminded her a bit of her old self but that one was gone, not really coming back either. "Oh, she likes to keep things mysterious," Hanako rolled her eyes, adding to the fake thing she was telling, "My name is Mizuki Hanako, nice to meet you, thank you for agreeing with the interview." Giving a fake name while she wrote for her own blogs did not help, "My name is also in the blog so I don't mind giving my own." She said as if it was nothing, which was hopefully where Blue understood that she had accepted after she said she was Blue Blitz, it made it safer.
She looked at the poster that Elena mentioned and nodded, "I also always feel that when I see such beautiful cakes or pies, how do you get yourself to eat that and thus destroyed the cuteness or prettiness, shame if those things are very tasty." She said with a soft chuckle, which was mostly the case, she took a menu in her own hands and looked at the cute animals that they had made. What a way to pick.

"Four months? So you're five in? And still running around doing interviews with vigilantes and villains. Vaya, estás fuera de tu mente!" Elena said with a bark of laughter--though not one of mockery or mean spirit. It was light and excited, and slightly more manic than she would have liked, but her stomach was still full of butterflies. She had to smother them with pastries. For now though she made due with a glass of iced coffee once she could flag down a waitress. "Nice to meet you too...hmmm, do you mind if I call you Mizu-chan? My name's Elena. Though if that's too hard to pronounce you can keep using BB. I don't mind." Having a name with two "L" sounds when living in Japan wasn't always great for introductions.
The waitress came by, listened as Elena quickly ordered the sweetest iced coffee drink on their menu, waited for Hanako to order her own drink, and then the was off again,
Elena leaned back in her chair enough to place her elbow over it.
"So how do we start this thing? I didn't even think about what you guys are actually looking for in these interviews. Are you looking for details on any event in particular? Just general ramblings about why people are on their side for whatever reason?" A bright green nail tapped against her lip--the only spot of green on her whole outfit--in thought. "Ah, now that I think about it, this could have so easily been a trap and I walked right into it without thinking. That would have been smart, huh. Still might be one, right? I'm just kidding." She grinned wider. "O eso quiero que creas...~"
"Want to get the basics out of the way? What are the basics to an interview, anyway."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Hanako spoke no, what she guessed was Spanish, so she had no idea what Blue said after but she gave a wry smile. It was normal that people would youknow work for a longer time but because Blue specifically said vigilantes and villains, she felt as if the woman knew far more than she actually led on or told her. "Ah, it's just very interesting, I only did interviews of villains for my boss, Lady Scandal but it seems she stopped temporarily with that." Ha maybe for forever if she could not get G back... that sounded wrong it was not as if she needed him. Confusing thoughts had to stop.
So she decided to give her real name, which was a whole rollercoaster itself, thank god Elena did not call her Hana, "Mizu is fine." She said but frowning at the woman her own name. Erena... she could not pronounce that and it reminded her of another English name that she could not while her English was fine... her L to R pronunciation was simply not! "Don't you mind people knowing your name? After all your work is unfortunately not appreciated by everyone." Such as the freaking government! When the waitress arrived, she realized she had not looked at the menu much or did not think about any drinks to order so she simply stuck with a tea, she rather had a coffee herself but as her health had not been doing perfectly well, she should take the safe route... again. She looked up back to Elena when she asked her a question or multiple about how she wanted to do the interview and well Hanako liked to make it just a conversation but she understand what the woman meant, a bit surprised about it being a trap. She never thought the other party could think the same as what she thought most of the time. Especially with Meiko and Anthracite. But luckily she smiled. "I mostly just approach it as a conversation, but it's interesting to know why you picked the work you do, ever considered to ask for a license?"

Elena tipped her chair back just a little with her weight before bringing it back down with a thud of cloth floor-protectors on hard wooden floors. Just because she had been doing the interviews for her boss didn't make her any less crazy for doing them. These were still criminals she was talking to. If the police caught her they wouldn't care who she was doing the work for--she was still letting villains come and go without alerting authorities. Hell, Elena didn't like that mentality either. At the same time it was that same moral gray attitude that would keep Hanako from calling the cops on her, who was also a criminal, albeit one of a less murderous sort than villains.
It was certainly not the best behavior one could exhibit but, hey, when it pays well...
Puede relacionarse.
"I assume you're not going to throw it into the article, Mizu-chan," she teased, smile no more tense or wary than it was before Hanako's point, "Besides, I don't look like this when I'm out there doing the sorta-hero work. Having someone call me Blue Blitz is more dangerous when I'm out as my normal, lovely self-" she waved her loose arm's hand over her body, "-than giving out my real name. Right now I'm just Elena."
Hanako's first question--or was it her second? Did the name one count? Maybe--got a slight falter in Elena's smile, and she eased forward in her seat to put both of her arms folded in her lap, leaning inwards. "Quiero decir, duh. You know the whole 'get a job doing what you love' thing; if I had a shot at helping people legitimately and getting paid doing it, I'd jump at the call. But it's just not an option right now." Her visible eye stayed glued to the flowery white coaster on the table. "Unless you're blind or dumb enough to have not figured it out, I'm not exactly Japanese. And I'm not the right age to be here legally. Too old for that hero school, too young to apply for a visa. Even if I could, it's not like I have the brains to do anything but this."
"I just want to help people. Since I can't get the badge to do it legally, I may as well just do it as hard and as right as I can until...maybe it becomes an option? Or until something else happens that changes everything. Like, y'know," her eyes flickered to Hanako's stomach and then away again very, very quickly, "Some other way I can do good without breaking the law at the same time. Those exist." Elena smirked, almost smugly, and raised an arm to place her chin in her palm. "But hell, I know people like me who have already gone pro. It's totally possible. Por qué no disparar a las luna?"
Even if I screw up, I still wind up among the stars.
"Oh, if I start talking your ear off, by the way, don't hesitate to stop me." She snickered softly, mostly into her hand. "I'm an awful chatter-box when I'm nervous."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ Hm yes that was probably the point of hero names. She had no idea what Elena thought of her, but it was a bit that she never considered herself, destruction was all that mattered at first but now she had destroyed the one thing she did not wanted to destroy. Dammit, and why did he not understand but Elena did, G dressed exactly the same and for so far she knew he did not carry a hero name or an alias or whatever you wanted to call it. What a ridiculous thing to say or think. She shook her head mildly, "I understand, that's a very smart approach." She wasn't sure if she knew others who did so too, clearly not Mia. She remembered how the pro-hero was approached and she could imagine that having a mutation as a vigilante or a pro-hero made it difficult not to be recognized. She simply would try to avoid to call out to Elena, so she could not accidentally say Brue or Erena or anything else for that matter that would drag the wrong sort of attention. Her second question or well her first interview question had to do with her job. "I met some that do not like the idea of being at the back and call of the government, they seem to have some issues with it." But she understood that if you wanted a license, it could be rather difficult here. "I don't understand to be honest, how some Americans seem to be able to get a license and how you would not be. I mean RedHorn isn't from here either." It was more of a rhetorical question, at the moment, even just starting to know Elena, she liked her more. As Elena explained that she wanted to do what was right even if she could not do it on the legal right way, Hanako was sure she liked her more. She looked shortly at her stomach as she had the idea Elena was looking at that but quickly looked away and scratched her cheek, idiot, no one thought about it in that way. She frowned, yes so Elena was aware that there must be potential ways, maybe Japanese government was just biased. She tried to remember other pro-heroes names but they were not all in her mind, she had seen some teachers at the school events for Miku and Haruuhi but again, not everyone their appearance said everything. "Well if I know a way, I would definitely let you know, you seem like the one really made for it. Personality wise what you just told me." Which was a rather early assumption but that's what she always seemed to be doing. She did look up surprised, fiddling with the menu in her hand when Elena said that she could be a chatterbox when she was nervous. "Nervous? For me?" She had never experienced someone being nervous for her, not her specifically, maybe the situation? Maybe Elena was afraid she would be outed and the like, to be fair that was a normal thought, who would be happy to be approached through the Underground chat.

~ I want to line the pieces up - Yours & mine ~
"I'm not American," Elena interjected, whether or not Hanako had meant to imply she was or whether she was just using it by comparison. It wasn't a wrong comparison. It just wasn't completely right on either count. "And I'm not able to not because of my race, but 'cause I'm not legally here. You understand? I'm not a citizen. Far as I know, the foreign heroes get a work visa to go along with their shiny license. I can't."
Elena sighed. It felt like there was more weight on her shoulders after making that little tidbit explicitly clear than she'd had keeping it vague. It wasn't like she didn't think she was too weak to become a hero if she had a visa or was a citizen or...any of the ways she would be here without being illegal. She was just positive that she'd screwed herself over on any of those chances by now. If she applied for one at twenty they'd no doubt ask how she got into the country in the first place with no legal documents, let alone a travel visa to start with. If she wasn't denied out-right she'd be denied and arrested. There was always getting married to a legal citizen...
...but that was out of the picture.
She didn't linger on those pleasant thoughts for too long, as the waiter from before arrived and set their drinks in front of them, then took his leave with a promise to return and take their food order in due time. Elena took a glance at the condensation on her cup. Mm. She should have ordered something room-temperature, not cold, with the growing heat. What was hindsight? Was it an island? She picked up the glass and the water evaporated as soon as it touched her skin, creating a trail of fog that followed her hand as she lifted the glass and took a sip from the simple clear straw. When she set it back down there wasn't a trace of water anywhere on her skin.
"Hey, the last time I did any kind of interview was two years ago for my day-job. And that didn't exactly have any questions about my running around punching criminals. I don't know how normal celebrities or heroes do this sort of thing," Elena scoffed, rolling her eyes at the thought, "Though I guess they don't get the additional anxiety of getting the los grises called on their asses by the interviewer. Lucky vigs', right?"
The compliment didn't go missed. Elena's pride felt a boost, knowing somebody, even a relative stranger, thought she had the right mindset for a real hero. It reminded her of that tarot reading she'd gotten not too long ago. Maybe there was something to that superstitious stuff after all? Her cheeks heated up enough that the white bangs over her left eye tinted ever so slightly blue, the light within it growing brighter in joy.
"Thank y--oh," she slid her hand under her bangs to cover her hidden eye, hiding the light behind it. "Um, ignora eso. But, really, that means a lot to hear. Thank you." WC: 526, Hanako Hajimari , to the person grading this I swear i didn't mean to make it just one word less than the last post, it just happened xD;;

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ "I did not assume you were." She said statically, she did not want to offend Elena, it was just an example, if Mia could do it, why not Elena? But that's what came next, where she learned that Elena had no visa or permit to stay here and yes that made it a little more difficult. She did not entirely know what to say about all that. Then how in hells bells did she get here and why? She decided not to ask because it felt far too personal and even if she would ask, she would not use it in her blog because that would still be considered way too personal. She simply nodded, she understood, but how would that be fixable, she had no idea, she actually wished that she had an idea. The government was a strange one. Inviting Americans to come over and help and yet... "I am sorry for my curiosity but too young for a visa?" How young must she be? She knew Lisa got a visa for working during her internship abroad in amazing America, it wasn't as if the reporter was jealous she got her stomach full of America.. which was bad because G was.. yea well that did not matter now. She had no idea how visas worked, that was the whole problem. "I have no idea how those things work," Better to admit it out loud than ask stupid questions.
She looked at the waiter so he did not entirely surprise her when he came and looked at the ice coffee that Elena ordered before, damn... coffee... she wanted coffee but instead she had her stupid tea. She looked a little worried at Elena with her next thing, answering why she should be nervous, even if she did not speak Spanish, which was an assumption, in the whole context she could understand what los grises must mean... in a bit. "I prefer the vigilantes, so don't you worry, I mean I understand why you would be nervous, I once accidentally called my boyfriend, whose a vigilante instead of the police and... I learned that my colleague called the police and so my boyfriend was in trouble and..." But she stopped rumbling and simply stared at Elena with a pained look and surprising big eyes, he wasn't her boyfriend at that point, she had made that up, that's what she wanted to say, that she had convinced the police that there was a vigilante fighting the gorilla Quirker and that Gil just came to save her... but he wasn't her boyfriend now either.
She quickly stared at her cup of tea, her hormones raging through her body, demanding her to cry, but she firmly bit the inside of her cheek to not do so and wrapped her shaking hands around the cup. She was glad Elena changed a bit of the subject, she had not seen what she should 'ignore' considering the word sounded like the English one. She simply tried to get herself back together.

~ I want to line the pieces up - Yours & mine ~
Elena glanced to her right at nothing in particular. "There's a bunch of laws about how you apply for a visa or get citizenship or whatever everywhere, you know? In Japan you have to be at least twenty, have lived here five years, and have a clean history both law wise and mental health wise. Trust me, I've looked it up. I only fit the last two categories, and even then the law one can get seriously screwed over any day if I'm not careful. But what am I going to do? Sit on my ass for half a decade and let people get hurt? And that's if I even get accepted. I'd rather rot in prison than that."
So her boyfriend was also a vigilante? Was he also her baby's father? Well, that gave some more context to her line of work, but also confused other parts. It explained why she wasn't in a rush to call the cops on a criminal interviewee--she was already covering for one that she knew personally. At the same time, did he know that she was meeting up with villains? Was he alright with it? It was her job and her choice, of course, but if it was Elena dating somebody who's job included long conversations with some of Tokyo's most wanted, she wasn't sure she'd feel entirely comfortable.
Was he one of the vigilantes she knew? He certainly wasn't Toma or Kohaku, unlikely to be the two claiming to be young teenagers, she doubted Kou had a girlfriend...
Then Hanako started to cry, and all Elena's thoughts went out the window.
Oh.
Mierda.
Elena had moved before her brain even caught up with her body's decision, chair scooting with all the subtlety that a heavy chair could manage, to be seated on the side next to Hanako rather than seated across from her. An unnaturally--but not unpleasantly--warm hand hovered near Hanako's shoulder, Elena's visible brow knit tight and her eye full of pure worry. The light in the left one had completely faded. "Hey, hey, are you alright? Did I hit a nerve? Or..." she didn't finish that sentence, opting instead to grab a napkin and offer it to Hanako, "Here. Take all the time you need, but if you want to talk about what's bothering you, I can be the one who listens for a while. I won't pry but...if there's any way I can help, let me know? Buena?"

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She stared at Elena because the whole explanation about visas made her mind go around in circles, but how would you live here for five years in a legal way... was the government trying to kick out people... or would you have to be invited for work eeeh this was so difficult. She was trying to convince herself that this was not her problem and that was a good thing but she also felt that it was a static she did not like, again something the government was doing. "Wait let me get this straight, to be here, you first need to be her five years but how, do they want you to get a work permit first before you can ask for a visa?" How did that work, really, really is that how Mia got one because she was special and they could use some starter pro-heroes? She started to dislike the idea a lot more, "Sorry I mean this has nothing to do with me, I wouldn't mind helping if I knew how." Maybe she could find something where Elena could work, it would be difficult compared to G's job but she got him a job too. Now she hated how he had that job but well, if it only would bite her in the ass, she could try again. The whole story of the past, where he was her hero, where Gil always had been her hero, she simply hiccuped and noticed later herself that she was crying, this happened a lot, she thought she had no more tears to cry about this whole idea. Oh how embarrassing, she ought to interview Elena and now she was crying. She tried to stop, she simply shook her head when Elena asked if she hit a nerve, no she had very carefully done so herself. Stupid, stupid Hanako! She did take the napkin gratefully and dabbed her eyes softly with it to stop crying, to stop the disaster that was called ruined mascara. She nodded."I am sorry." when she finally found her voice back and stopped crying, "It's just... we broke up." And I am not used to that yet, and it was my fault, I walked away, was what she added in her mind. She did not know if she was capable of fixing all this or if she wanted that, the whole reason why she left to Kyoto was to get that idea and as much as she wanted Gil back, she did not forgive herself for giving up so easily. "Do-do you think with your line of work its more difficult to find or trust someone for love?" It was for her own, she wanted G to trust her but she had the feeling that he was trying to push her out, to only protect her, would Elena know him? After all she had only met Kenshin and that was because he forgot she was at his apartment, it felt like eons ago. But it wasn't.

~ I want to line the pieces up - Yours & mine ~
The conversation of citizenship and visas and the like were pushed aside in favor of being sure that Hanako was alright, at least in Elena's mind. She had trouble keeping up with anything else when somebody was crying in front of her. They became her focus. She wanted to help them feel better, to feel happy again; especially when it was somebody who sounded like they really, really needed a shoulder to cry on. Elena didn't know how many people Hanako had around her given what she did for a living--how many others could she let in, knowing the sort of people she was interviewing--but right now, she was here for her, even if they barely knew one another. Napkin taken she rested her hand on her shoulder, full of warmth and care.
A soft breath escaped between her brightly painted lips. Broken up. A vigilante with a pregnant girlfriend who had recently broken up. Somebody absolutely devastated and alone. It lined up very, very well with another story she had heard not long ago...and it gave a name, or at least a stupid screen-name, to the man in question.
Somehow she managed to keep a perfectly composed face as the numbers added up.
No dijo él que ella...
...pero ella todavía está embarazada. Muy, muy embarazada. El estaba equivocado?
El mintió?
Not what mattered right now. What mattered was this woman was in pain, and had asked her something pretty difficult to answer. Elena kept her eyes on Hanako's face as she thought. Should she say what she thought she wanted--or needed--to hear? No, that would be dishonest. Elena couldn't do that to somebody, even if it made them feel better. Her hand squeezed just slightly on Hanako's shoulder. "...I don't know. I think that letting anybody that close is difficult for some people, and for other people it's easy as breathing. I know I'm the latter. I want to trust people, even if I'm doing something that any sane individual would call the cops about--no offense."
"The only reason I would keep anyone at a distance is out of fear that they'd get hurt because of me. Either because I'm a vigilante," her gaze lowered slightly, darkening, "Or just because of my Quirk. And I'm not the only person I know in the scene that feels that way. It's dangerous work. So if you're talking about your ex, and you think he had trouble trusting you...I wouldn't jump to it being because he's a vigilante. There are a lot of reasons somebody could have trust issues, but when we're already lying about our life, like, ninety-nine point nine percent of the time, we should be absolutely jumping at the chance of having somebody who loves us and trusts us..."
She looked back up at Hanako with an awkward, small smile. "That was schmaltzy. Sorry. That's the nerves and the 'oh please don't cry please be happy' brain talking."

all the pieces lie where they fell... ♥ She used to not mind her selfishness, her self centered thoughts she was okay with it, the destruction, the uses of media that she can turn to her hand, when did that change? When did it mattered if G knew or not, was it when he came running to her to stop the pressen on the issue about that Bucket guy? Did there actually needed to be an answer or would she just stop making problems out of thin air, she was so tired of this, her tears were tired and yet they came, her body was tired and yet she was here instead of Kyoto. Far away and yet close, what in the world. She wasn't sure what to believe or think anymore, what to want and know anymore, it was all a confusing mess.
She hated to cry in front of someone she didn't know, she hated to cry in public but she have been doing that so often lately that it did not change anything anymore. She felt warm and safe here with Elena around, she did not know the woman but maybe she could learn a few things from her, she had ideas before, that's why she went to Fix but those ideas were broken off by her pregnancy and yet she did not stop and they fought about that, meeting the Yakuza princess had brought so much fear in her mind when she bumped into her again during that music night and she could tell no one, she could only be sitting there in fear.
And let's not forget Meiko.
She had to ask, Elena would understand right, she was a vigilante too, so she would know right, she could give an answer from her point of view, his point of view. Their point of view. She was desperate. She did not even notice the no offense comment, she was hanging on every word Elena said to be able to interpretend it the way she wanted. She took a deep breath and listened, yes, there were issues he did not tell her about, there had been issues that she did not tell him about and she should, they should if they wanted to continue this... would he want to continue this? She had a small hiccup but tried to dry her tears with the napkin, "I am so afraid to talk to him and I am so so sorry for breaking down, I thought I had it all under control." But she did not and technically, deep down she knew that, the fact that she had gone to Kyoto was with a reason, the fact that she could still feel his lips on hers after their meeting in the hospital said enough. But the answer still had not come to how to make up for her mistake.
