[googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","firstfriend"] "ome on come all! If you enjoy card tricks or pointing out how they're done this is the place for you!" A booming voice echoed from an energetic blue haired boy, who was hoping entice the people walking by in the shopping district to come by. Isaac stood there in a black waist coat and white shirt with black pants and shoes. He looked more like a waited but the deck he was shuffling in his hands suggested that he may have something more magical on the menu today. For the most part despite his enthusiasm the Shopping district was rather quiet, only a few pedestrians were walking about. Isaac couldn't say he was surprised though. It was the weekend and still fairly early. Hopefully once the rush of people coming in to do their weekly shop arrived he would do a little better. Although he didn't particularly like doing this kind of work to get some extra cash it was the only real skill he had acquired in his life. The only enjoyment Isaac got from doing this was seeing the reactions of everyone once he had successfully done the trick. Isaac paced up and down his make shift stall which was just a fold up table covered in a cloth with some other items in his bag that would help him with other tricks. He took this time to glance around to see if he could catch the eye of anyone and drag them over to see his trick. That was the other thing he disliked about doing these sorts of tricks. During slow hours he would have to try and force people to come over and be amazed by his tricks so that it would attract a bigger crowd. What was worse is most of the time people who would agree to come and see his magic would have spent most of their loose change passing by some musicians leaving Isaac to either refuse such large sums of money or to not be paid at all. Well paid is a strong word, donated would be a more accurate description but either way this kind of work left him between a rock and a hard place. Sighing slightly he leaned up against his table and lazily began to move the cards in his hand. Man, hopefully someone would come around soon.

Silver hair bounced loosely atop of her pinstriped shirt. Sleeves rolled up past her elbows, revealing various scars and cuts. A smile lived on the girl's face as she wandered along the streets. Night colored suspenders held up her dark slacks. An open collar hinted at her barren flesh from under. Her hands, wrapped in various bandages, each appearing to be from it's own incident. Her nails overgrown, longed, and colored white, a strange ivory color. She was Kasey Setsuna, Yuuei's janitor, and today, she appeared to be thinking anything besides her sister's funeral. Kasey hung her thumbs in the bands of her suspenders as she neared a upcoming magician. A young face, one familiar but without a name. She took a step closer to observe, to watch. Was he another traveler of the streets, or was the janitor going to hold a new secret from a soon to be hero student? "Well, certainly the youngest magician I've seen today." Kasey would say with a smile, her eyes passing over all of the little things of his table. It wasn't a total lie. By default, the only magician you saw that day, was also the youngest, oldest, tallest and shortest. A pool of one made her one liners much more vague and interesting. ". . . shouldn't you be in school?"And so the interrogation began. ~ Word Count: 232 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

[googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","firstfriend"] silver haired woman quickly came into view catching the scarlet eyed boy's attention. She did not look too familiar to the boy and given her appearance he figured that someone like her would stand out more in his mind if they did in fact meet. The woman met his gaze and approached with an innocent smile. The youngest magician she met? The greeting confused Isaac somewhat. He knew he wasn't the only performer around here but he was almost certain that he was the only magician. Maybe she was trying to tease him? His face shifting to an amused smile his eyes quickly turned to a wink as he replied to her question. "Now now, if I was in school I wouldn't be here to entertain you.~" With a small chuckle he moved his hand holding the deck out. He did was was known as a card spring. He pinched each corner of his deck causing each card to fly out from the pressure and landing in his open hand. He did this very quickly and it looked like a blur, the deck moving from one hand to the other. Waiting to see if she was impressed Isaac wondered if it was a good idea to keep his answer vague. He wanted to give this silver haired vixen a taste of her own medicine with a peculiar reply of his own. In truth he wasn't in school because he had no school that day. Tomorrow was the first day for the first years so he wanted to try and earn as much cash as he could for himself with the free time he did have. Even so, if this woman had any power to her his answers may need to be a little better thought out, but for now he would act as he usually would when a pretty lady took interest in him. "So Miss, would you care to be entertained with some tricks or should we just flirt for another while?" With another wink and speaking in a playful tone Isaac was beginning to enjoy himself. Hopefully he could keep her around long enough to help gather a crowd. But even if it was just this one woman, he somehow did not feel like it would be an uneventful day...

Kasey, like always, was that one kid who had their hand in every cookie jar. She had reached far and wide, her limbs and her hold making squids, and other cephalopods jealous. How could anyone grab hold of so many things, yet still manage to hold onto more prey? It wasn't natural. It was beyond human. And for today, it was just a joke. For now at least. "Debatable." Kasey would reply, only to observe the child to preform his next acts. It was all free to watch. Why pay anything when it was presented at no cost? As his hands passed over a stack of cards, he would hold it, only for him to apply his force to shoot them into his other hand. Impressive perhaps, but with a world where telekinesis was possible, it wasn't that impressive anymore. With or without the skill, he needed more. But what would he preform? "I'm much too old for you, so please, carry on with the parlor tricks." kasey would say with a smile, her hands holding onto her suspenders as she observed. Anyone would have guessed she was trying to see through the tricks, but Kasey knew how most of them worked. It helped to have a massive library at your disposal. And with it, an almost unlimited supply of texts to read. Kasey watched, and with it, people would begin to stare. Though, what for, she couldn't say, nor did she notice. "Is this how we are going to spend the afternoon?" A voice in her mind spoke to her. "we have nothing else to do. What is the loss to watch a beggar preform tricks for a donation?" her own thought words in reply to his. "Of course." The voice of a spirit that lived within the demon. Nothing more than her quirk. However, the more the world saw the two of them, the less it begun to make sense. [googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","firstfriend"] hot down already? My my, this wasn't the usual kind of woman who liked to visit Isaac at his stall. Right away she pointed out the age gap, that was reason enough to believe that almost nothing Isaac could do would lead her to enjoy some flirtatious banter. Most women and girls who approached him did so for two reasons. Out of curiosity and on very rare occasions something intimate. Although the latter was very rare, usually by engaging in some choice words Isaac could play up the crowd which would get him a better tip. Still, now with the Silver haired woman stopping any more of that kind of behavior Isaac truly had no other reason to keep doing so. He just hoped that more people passing by would decide to come and take a look at his stall. "Sorry Miss, you can't blame me for trying though." Another vague reply given to her with a signature wink. Isaac could tell that this woman was a lot sharper than his usual customers so he would need to return it in kind. His sentence could be construed that he was trying to suggest that he wasn't at fault for starting to flirt given how beautiful the woman was but as she rightly had in mind Isaac very much needed the money and he couldn't be blamed for trying everything he could (within reason) to try and help him get that soon to be assured tip. Speaking of sharp wit the woman called his show mere parlor tricks. Seemed she had some knowledge of tricks. Well then it was time to pull out some more entertaining tricks in his repertoire. "Now now Miss, just because they are Parlor doesn't mean you can't be entertained." With another wink Isaac began to shuffle the cards in his hands with a simple over hand method, keeping an eye on the woman at all times. When he was done he extended his hand out with the deck. "If you'd like you can shuffle." He'd ask with a smile. Weather she would or not would not make too much difference as Isaac would then walk around to the other side of the table. "Alright! When you're done I'd like you to roughly split the cards in half, then choose which half you want to play with and place it on the table right in front of me and place the other to the side." he then waved his hand across the table tapping each spot for her to place the cards. "Now although you said you're too old for me, I still think there's a bit of a connection between us, if you don't mind me saying so." With another wink he hoped to capture the woman's attention again. Even if he had no real reason to do so he hoped it would stop her acting so stiff with him and even if it had the opposite the brilliance of the trick would surely change her tune! Or so he hoped. "So! Because of that connection why not play a little game I like to call 'Psychic Split.' All will become clear in a moment. Are you ready?" he asked extending his hand over the cards this time as he gazed at her with a single open eye. It was time for some fun to begin.

Pointing out the gap was a strange thing from an outside perspective that knew that the girl herself, didn't really know how old she was. She had just learned to count not that long ago, and now she was measuring the distance of time between him and herself. A strange feat to achieve, but with a medical background, perhaps knowing the difference in age just by looks wasn't too strange. She knew she was of age, and she could only guess he was a minor. But a number of time? Whatever she thought it was, it was anyone's guess. Being a child, she knew his job options were limited. With that being said, most of them turned to side jobs, shows, and other performances for money unless they landed a job. but that was what the Pink Jackal was. It was a place where the janitor took her new identity, and where she roamed as the practicing hero, Lady Macabre. But none of the students knew... at least, none that weren't in in her secret. "I never said they wouldn't entertain." She would say with a smile, "Even a falling petal of a rose, is enough to satisfy." As she asked her to shuffle, it was only then that a little of the monster inside her appeared. Her hands remained still, as from the center of her palm, white spider legs seemed to emerge, only to take the cards, pushing them over each other, cutting, dividing, and returning back into the shape of a deck. White spider legs that were made by soft cartilage. A thin membrane that covered her skin out of protection, and the desire of her quirk without the need to injure herself. She would place them on the table, then cutting the deck in half to tap the right deck. "Well, then this one." She would say, sliding the deck of cards between the both of them. Her hands lifting back up to her suspenders as she observed his little tricks. "A psychic?" The voice of one began "Then he's in for a treat." The other would reply. "If it is genuine, he will best not see into your mind, Rena." the spirit spoke. "I say let him." The demon said. Kasey nodded. "Well, I'm ready." a smile still on her face. "Right you are miss." he said agreeing with her first statement. Seemed he was a little quick to judge. Maybe she just had high standards after all? Even her analogy gave of a sense that she was fairly experienced in life if that made sense. Falling petals of a rose? She must be pretty wealthy to be able to enjoy something as that. Most of those high class flowers were expensive as hell to buy and to just go and let it die to see it's beauty seemed more like a rich person thing to do but Isaac kept those thoughts to himself and smirked to himself. "Well then, without further ado let us begin." He said trying to speak a little more proper. The boy's Japanese for the most part was alright. He made a few grammatical errors and at times spoke in a casual tense rather than formal. That was mainly out of habbit but now it seemed like he was ready to start acting a tad bit serious with the woman. He needed to earn that money some way and acting too flirty wasn't going to work. [break][break] The woman indeed took the cards to shuffle as he wanted as Isaac situated himself on the other side of the table. Turning to face her, his gaze fell to the cards to see what way she was shuffling the deck. His eyes widened after seeing how she went about it, not out of shock but intrigue. Not many people would bother using their quirk to shuffle the deck even if they had one which allowed them. There was only two possible reasons for her to have done this. One was to mark the cards for herself in some way. Even if the quirk seemed rather bare bones in terms of what it could do from first glance, Isaac figured that she would not be doing it for the second option, which would be to show off. As there was just the two of them there he did not believe that she wanted to impress him, after all she made it clear that she had no interest in the boy to begin with. Still he couldn't rule out the possibility and no matter how unlikely either option was the fact that she used her quirk at all sparked a peculiar interest in the boy. The woman then cut the deck in half and tapped the deck of her choosing. Isaac picked the deck up and rippled thorough the cards a few times as he spoke. "I must say, you have a very beautiful and rather unique looking quirk." beaming at the woman he couldn't tell what kind of quirk it was although if he had to hazard a guess he would say mutation. Although he wouldn't press the matter anymore, if she wanted to talk more on it she could. Once he was finished talking he stopped flicking through the cards and moved the other deck to the side. [break][break] Onto the trick! Isaac took the twenty-seven cards and made three equal piles. He placed one pile closest to Kasey and the remaining two either side of them closer to himself. "Now, this is important. I want you to point at the deck that you feel the best connection with out of these three." He said moving his hand over the cards. "Feel free to hover over each deck with your hand, I find it helps." With a wide smile he waited for Kasey to pick one of the piles. Once she did he would pick it up and reveal it to her, while he turned his head to make it obvious that he wasn't trying to look at the cards. "Now from these cards, pick one to be your card and keep it in your mind." There were 9 cards to pick from and once she had decided Isaac would then take up the other two decks and deal them out in the same formation as before. "Now it is time to test your connection to your card. I want you to choose a pile here that you feel your card is in. I'll pick a pile afterwards should you not find it. Are you ready?"

For anyone to think of the girl as wealthy or rich, was a win in the girl's eyes. It wasn't that long ago that she was living on the streets, scavenging through bins and dumpsters just for a bite to eat. A girl who was satisfied by stale bread and rotten fruit. But present day, she was a working class citizen who was given opportunities of a lifetime again and again. Now she house some of the largest secrets in Japan. The school janitor, was but a humble CEO, and it was not money that would deter her from her life choices. She was simple. She liked to work for things. Besides, the life of a rich woman, could never compare to the smiles of on children's faces when they were greeted with something newly repaired. Children no younger, no older than she. They might as well been her peers, but with a life between the worlds, it was one she could never live. "Thank you. Though, I don't believe the newspapers had your same choice of words" she would say to him, referring to her own account of Semper Fi. But her words carried a strange ominous feeling as if she was referring to a dark bandit criminal as herself. She was a hero once before; Crimson Skull. But what was she now? Where did she go? What was the reason for the janitor to play hero if her identity was known? She listened to his directions. Only to close her eyes to look away. From her palm, a hole opened, allowing Setsuna to peek at the cards. She was understanding the game. It was common math, for a girl who didn't know how to count. "Then it is not a game of skill, but a game of luck." He would say, observing the cards, hovering between them. Circling around. He might have been hidden from the boy's sight, but Kasey knew very well what it was about. "I will think of a card, both face and suit, and it will appear? The chances of him taking one out of the deck are no different if we split the deck. It is not like we had seen the cards before." She observed the possibilities of how he could do it. It wasn't like he could influence her to chose a card. But it was all of her feeling of where the card she wanted, would be. So be it. Setsuna faded away, only for Kasey to take the deck to the left of him, which was to the right of herself. With two fingers, she tapped. She watched him pick it up, only to have one particular card stand out to her. "Jack of Hearts?" the voice would ask, only for it's master to remain silent. "Very much so. What do I do next?" The girl was far more interested in the directions, than the trick itself. She didn't care if it worked or not, she had already came there with a plan. ~ Word Count: 515 ~ |

After he had complimented the woman, she replied in a very odd way. To the blue haired boy, it almost seemed like she was trying to indirectly brag. Was she famous? Or perhaps infamous? Isaac couldn't say that he recognized her but then again he rarely kept up to date with the news. She clearly was trying to point something out but Isaac couldn't tell what precisely so he just kept smiling and chuckled softly at her her reply. Deciding it best t just get on with the trick, if Kasey wanted a reply she would not find one coming from the boy as he proceeded on.
What happened next perplexed Isaac again. Where he would usually be the one to close his eyes and look away to show he was being fair with the trick, this time his spectator did it. The tables had surely turned as Isaac pondered on what her quirk was exactly. Was she able to just create bones and organs from her body? Well regardless, she seemed to have a good idea of how Isaac did the trick or a fair idea of how he did it anyway hence her confidence in what she was doing.
But she was wrong.
Where Isaac knew the trick, his spectator did not and could only guess as to how the trick played out. And indeed her guess was a good one but not how this trick was panning out. While to begin with the game simply seemed like luck, well it did and it didn't. This beginning phase was only done to rile the crowd up a bit. If she guessed correctly, great and if he did if she failed then just as good. But should they both fail, well then it did not matter much in the grand scheme of the trick. He already knew how t get her card.
Once she had picked a deck and he had turned away, Isaac waited for her to confirm with herself the card she chose. Calling out that she was ready, Isaac opened his eyes again and faced the girl, moving his hands to make the cards he spread out into a deck once more and placed it down on top of the deck furthest from him and then the last deck that remained. Isaac then placed one card down at a time to make three piles in the same position as he had done previously. Once all 27 cards were placed into 3 equal piles he clapped his hands together. "Now to forge the connection." he said. "I'll be setting out the cards in this manner another two times to make sure we forge a good bond with the card you picked. If all goes to plan I should be able to feel the same connection you have with the card." He said smiling and rubbing his hands together. "Now place your hand over the decks again and try to find your card. If you don't find it I'll try to find it. No pressure if neither of us find it though." He had to make that point clear. Weather Kasey decided to find the card or let Isaac attempt to find it wouldn't be too important, but he was curious to see how she would do things. "Whenever you're ready."

Right. Mannerisms. She often forgot how different she was from people. Not to say she was better, or inhuman, even though she felt like she was. but she was not raised with love, or even the hate from a family. No, all of that ended when she was young, right when her quirk appeared. Right when Setsuna appeared. She was a lab rat, and a pet by almost any definition. She wasn't a fuctioninal member of society, even if she contributed massive amounts. It didn't matter. She couldn't fit in, even if she tried. Her views of the world were so horribly skewed, that she might as well been an alien. She read her fair share of books, she had a good grasp on slight of hand things. But with a world of quirks, for all she knew he could telepathically talk to the cards, or even see through them. Perhaps clairvoyance, using her to do the trick, using his own quirk. Or perhaps it was all hidden in a invisible pocket dimension. The possibilities were endless, but it didn't matter. She was going to be entertained, and perhaps learn a bit more about the world she wanted to be a part of. But after he spoke, her mind drifted to the other sorts of false magic. There was a few videos of them. Pick a card at the start, and at the end, your card won't be there. How could a video magician be correct? Easy. If none of the first cards are at the end, then there was no way he could possibly be wrong. But now it was a choice of him finding a card based on her mental choice, or her going with what she felt. Perhaps he interjected a choice for her. Maybe that was the trick. Or maybe, he truly could read her mind. Either way, she was curious, and wanted to observe, rather than participate. She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. "I would prefer if you found my card." She would tell him, "I think I will be more fun that way." She held her hands over the table, opening her eyes. Her palms face up, showing the various cuts and incisions. Though, at a quick glance, no one would really notice. Perhaps she was waiting for him to read her palms or- "I can feel a strong connection with my card. Can you feel it?" She would say, smiling, enjoying what the world had to offer her. ~ Word Count: 409 ~ |

"Alright I'll try and find it. If the card is not in the deck however you have to tell me otherwise the connection we forge will be false." He replied with a smile of his own seeing how she was enjoying the trick. Now this trick in question did rely on weather Kasey told the truth or not. If she lied and told Isaac that her card was in a deck that it was not then the trick would fall apart so honesty was key. Admittedly it may not be the smartest thing to rely on when face to face with a criminal but Isaac didn't know that fact just yet so for now he had the utmost confidence in her.
The first deck Isaac picked was to his left. He revealed the cards to her and asked if her card was present. He would do this action two more times after he laid out the cards one by one into three new piles. Once he was finished, regardless of how many he got right or wrong Isaac would speak with confidence. "Got it."
After the small set up the 27 cards would all be put together again similarly to how he had done so previously. "Now, with our newly found connection to the card and each other I'll pick it out from the deck. As you saw I didn't look at the cards when I asked if your card was in the pile, I didn't mark the card and I never used my quirk once. As he spoke he flipped over the top card of the deck a couple of times until he came to the sixth card when he suddenly stopped. "And this my dear is the power of our connection." Dramatically flipping over the seventh card he waited to see Kasey's reaction. Was she telling the truth or was she lying? The proof would be in the card laid out before them. If it was indeed the card she chose it would be face up leaving her in awe, if not then it would be lost in the deck.
