If love is a labor I'll slave till the end I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand Her ears were aching and her head was heavy. Her knees were aching and she felt sore all around. There were bags under her eyes as if she'd been dealing with insomnia and her stomach was rumbling almost as though she hadn't eaten anything for days. Yet despite everything that would normally annoy her, she couldn't really come up with any type of adjective that would've accurately described how she felt when the airspeed of the American Airlines jet began slowing. Her eyes, as opposed to the drowsy little Raven next to her, dared not look out the window. She didn't need any type of bird's eye view. No, she wanted to see the concrete monstrosity below them with her very own eyes the moment her feet walked those nostalgic sidewalks. Her whole body felt how the landing gear kicked in and the speed brakes were pulled... and when they finally touched down on the runway, Jasmine Noir couldn't help the wide grin that came over her.
Finally. After thirteen long months and something odd days and one hell of a long fourteen hour flight, she was finally home. In New-fucking-York, the Carousel Capital of the World.
It wasn't just her vision that kept giving her cues to try to force her disbelieving eyes to realize that she was finally back home. Her earing, sense of smell... everything sent waves upon waves of nostalgia crawling up and down her spine to the point that Jasmine could barely hold in a smile as she guided her girlfriend along the stupidly huge Newark Airport by the hand. Goodness, Rin was a mess. After fourteen hours stuck in transit (which, by the way, turns out was the very first flight of her life) the girl was a corpse walking. It was actually kind of cute, if not a little terrifying.
When they finally managed to reach baggage claim and later walk out of the airport, Jasmine took a short while to take in the sight of the massive range of giants towering in the distance, their sheer size making it seem as though they were about to pierce the clouds. People with all sorts of backgrounds were walking and running around, some talking to each other, others on the phone, some were reading newspapers. The honking of cars seemed like it was neverending, music being played from all manner of sources all around them the second they left the airport.
Lilac eyes firmly locked onto the sight, Jasmine took a deep breath. "Welcome home, Jaz."
Without knowing it herself, the lioness tugged at Rin's hand a little harder to make sure the girl was still with her. She glanced at the little Raven, a small smile spreading on her face before she quickly kissed the girl's forehead. "Come on. Let's grab a cab. We'll be home before you know it, get you something to make you feel a little better."
With how many buzzing yellow cars that looked like they were from the early 2000s driving around, it wasn't difficult for the blonde American to catch one.
"You girls heading into the city?" The cab driver asked, a mixed Italian-American accent behind his voice.
"Gramercy. East 20th," Jasmine replied. "You goin' that way?"
"Hop in, I'll get your bags."
"Sweet, thanks."
Luckily there wasn't much traffic going into Manhattan at the time they came in, which was about 3PM, give or take. Rush hour wasn't going to get obnoxious until an hour or so later, just as the blonde lioness had planned. They on the island within fifteen or so minutes, surrounded by seemingly collossal concrete giants that felt like they dwarfed the sun.
While Rin was undoubtedly busy taking in the sights, Jasmine had a quick chat with the cab driver. At first it had gotten a little awkward since it seemed like the guy had recognized the two of them - strangely enough it seemed like even the people in the city were keeping an eye on Yuuei.
"We've got one of our own down there. 'Course we're watchin'," the cab driver would say, flashing the lioness a grin which she couldn't help but mirror. "Main, wait till my kids hear about this. Yuuei kids, right in the back 'o my damn cab. You kids are the future, I tell ya," he went on. At some point he even asked Jasmine and Rin for a selfie... which the lioness didn't say no to, of course. Despite her natural unwillingness to take pictures of all kinds, today she was in a good mood. Rightfully so, too.
Before long they reached the historic Gramercy Park district, which people very literally dubbed called the "Victorian gentleman who has refused to die"... and while the view was definitely a sight to behold - one that the blonde was sure Rin would be drawn to, Jasmine hurried her inside of the large apartment complex they were next to. "Come on. Let's leave our stuff, get some showers going, some food, get a recharge and we can head out to town, yeah? We've still got some time to kill."
With that all being said, Jasmine urged the little Raven inside, by which point they took an elevator to the 15th floor. Nathan always liked to live high up. Always kept saying it was easier to keep an eye out. That and lots of escape routes. Before she used to think he was paranoid. Now, after some training, though? Yeah. She could see it.
"Well, we're crashing here for the next two weeks," Jasmine said the second they walked into the spacious apartment and she dropped her bags on the floor. "Might as well make yourself at home."

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy I'm leaving for two weeks. Going on vacation with my girlfriend. Even stating the sentence out loud to those that deserved to know where Rin was going, had been enough to make her heart beat several times faster, fill her stomach with butterflies and make her struggle to overcome the giddy excited feeling without making a ton of weird gestures and accompanying sounds. The day had finally arrived. They had gone to the airport, and while Rin had done some studying to figure out exactly how things functioned, the sheer size was overwhelming. Then there was the almost ungodly stream of humans rushing to get from one place to the other so that they'd keep in time for their planes. Jasmine was the one to lead the way, cutting the stream in two with her sheer pressence, guiding the raven haired female. Boarding passes, luggage, affirmation that they'd receive compensation if their luggage didn't arrive in time at the correct place. Little by little, the checklist was filled out with marks. Until, finally, they were lead aboard the plane.
In the handbag, Rin had prepared herself aptly for the journey. Being a medic, the girl was more than aware of what might happen to someone going by plane. The regular remedies were available at hand. Chewing gum, ear-plugs, something to cover her eyes if she wanted to sleep. Several books to read from. Candy and snacks that would stave off the worst hunger. There was one serious downside to being Rin in this situation however. Sleeping medicine, with how much blood Rin had in her system, was simply not going to do anything positive for her. The plane took off. Rin was chewing gum. Looking out the window, it was quite the experience to go this far up. Heart pounding in her chest, Rin really wasn't great with heights. Though, compared to when she had no means of flying herself, she was managing quite well. Afterall, if something was to happen, Rin came equipped with her own parachute ready for deployment. That, alone, made her feel significantly safer, even if she was still a nervous little wreck...
The first fifteen minutes was filled with prodding Jasmine, pointing out the window, commenting on things below them. It was like a small girl, seeing the world for the first time. Christmas lights were alight in the sapphire blue eyes. Pictures were taken, excitement was shared. After the first fifteen minutes, though, the notion quickly became novel. So, Rin turned her attention to her books. Reading quietly, talking with Jasmine, eating candy. It was quite relaxing, in honesty. Then, they landed, got aboard a new plane, with the process practically repeating itself. Rin still took pictures of the interesting sights, but had for the most part fizzled out in regards to flying. Several hours had passed. Several more hours were to pass. Travelling, whether by land, sea or air, was still travelling, and it quickly became tedious. On the phone, she was playing games with the blonde, doing whatever she could to kill some time. The inability to sleep also made it significantly more tedious. God, Rin really looked forward to hitting a bed...
...So by the time they arrived at their destination with the final plane, Rin might as well have ceased living. Small black rings around her eyes, an expression that practically asked are we there yet?... Soft groaning of exhaustion as she picked up the luggage that belonged to herself. It was at around this time, that everything absolutely screwed Rin over. The girl's mind was telling her that she was exhausted and needed to sleep. The girl's exhausted body, however, told her that it was a new day, and that she needed to rise and shine. It was an absolutely horrible contradiction. "...Sweetheart, I think I might be jetlagged.." Rin spoke, softly, covering her mouth as if she was feeling sick. Well, she was feeling sick. The tug at her hand, the kiss at her forehead. Rin replied with her trademarked smile. A smile that, despite her current appearance, held all the love and affection that it always did~The next amount of time seemed to move by without Rin really realizing what was happening. They got into a cab, the driver speaking quickly. Rin studied hard, always, and had done everything she could in preparation for this trip. With the heavy accents however, she was almost hopeless. The message somewhat got across, resulting in Rin giving a soft wave, before sinking back into the land of the jetlagged. They got out the cab... and the world around them had, once again, changed. "...this city is built in blocks of stone." Rin commented, attempting to put words to the sensation that everything was a square. The buildings were squares. The roads were built in squares. The lots were squares. Everything here, was a symmetrical square. Suddenly the notion of building blocks made a whole lot more sense.Rin was clearly interested in the things around her, looking around, trying to take it all in. It was just that she was, currently, incapable of truly processing it. All the girl wanted, was a warm shower and sleep. Tons and tons of sleep. The appartment was, for all intents and purposes, abandonned. It was not that the place was reeking or filthy. No, there was a strange scent of pizza, alcohol, smoking. Enough so that Rin coughed lowly. An atmosphere so different from what the raven was used to. The interior was... also quite different. The appartment was practically built in islands. The couch island had it's own kind of mess, that pertained only to the couch and television. Remote lying randomly, news papers that were ages too old, couch pillows sorta strewn about after the last haphazard time Jaeger had guests. The kitchen island had a few pans that hadn't been through the dishes. Though, they had been washed off, preventing muck and horrid scent. All in all, the appartment truly looked like someone had intended to come back and just hadn't. It gave Rin an eerie feeling. Dumping her bags in the middle of the floor, Rin waddled to the bathroom... ...Yeaaah, the shower would have to wait. So, the raven haired female simply brushed her teeth, and without saying a word, went to the bedroom and crashed in the bed. It had that same odd scent of different. ... If love is a labor I'll slave till the end I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand Jasmine could only breathe out and smile as she watched her little Raven take everything in, bit by bit. Clearly she was far too tired to go on an exploratory hunt driven by curiosity, as Jasmine first thought the girl would, as evidenced by how she left her bags lying on the floor and made a bee-line for the bathroom. She shook her head; wasn't like Rin to just leave her stuff like that. Then again it wasn't like her to sit through fourteen hour flights all too often either so the lioness figured Rin deserved something of a pass.
While Rin was busy going through her before-bed rituals, Jasmine kicked her shoes off and walked into the apartment. She walked down the steps from the entry hall and into the living room, completely skipping the kitchen where some pans were still left lying around. The girl made a mental note to clean that up when she woke up in the morning. Collecting all of their combined luggage, she easily carried it into a random corner and left them there. She'd rather not leave them lying around in any random place they could probably trip on and unpacking could definitely wait until later. People who unpacked the second they arrived to their destination - assuming something wasn't pressing them to get that taken care of - were very likely people who had yet to be diagnosed as criminally insane.
Jasmine gave herself a quick scan of the room as she put several of the pillows back where they belonged, as memory served. Nothing much had changed in this place over the years and it was clear that Nathan had taken good care of it regardless of barely ever being home. This was where the two of them had lived when Nathan was still looking after her way back when. After he left, Jasmine didn't linger for too long. An apartment like this one very quickly became too big for a twelve-year-old. Then again whether she should've stayed or not was a question she wasn't prepared to ponder on yet.
Her eyes immediately got caught by the many picture frames on top of the shelf above the TV. Humming to herself, she approached, taking one into her hands. A small smile formed on her lips when she saw the picture after having wiped the dust off of it. It was back when Jasmine was eleven or so and had been knee deep in her 'alternative' phase. She couldn't remember who exactly took the picture but it was a clear showing of how Jasmine and Nathan's relationship went. Jasmine, short, almost tiny, yet also with blue hair, was giving a crimson glare to a snickering Nathan, likely after a comment or two he dropped on her for her new style.
She shook her head as she put the picture back down, the smile still very much present on her facial features. There were so many memories in this apartment, both good and bad, she didn't know what to think. But deep down the girl could feel the warmth her heart exuded. She was home. She was finally back home where she belonged.
Yet the girl, at this particular point, was far too tired to relish in it. Plus her little Raven was waiting for her, even if she hadn't realized it herself. Jasmine very quickly went through her own preparations in the form of brushing her teeth and taking a quick shower, before slipping into nothing more than panties and a long and loose orange T-shirt. Sneakily, almost deviously so, she prowled into the bedroom where she saw Rin, already having passed out. The lioness' grin turned practically seductive.
"Oh sleep's going to have to wait, love~"
Jaz very carefully snaked herself under the covers from the foot of the bed, carefully climbing on top of Rin yet also making sure to make the girl very aware of the blonde's presence. Kisses, nibbles, bites and gnaws, all of it was used to get Rin's attention, and boy was the reaction she got after biting Rin's nect satisfying. She could barely hold herself back.
And what happened next... well, let's just say that's not something we can actually describe here.
The next morning came very early. It was about eight AM when Jasmine woke up. Rin was still fast asleep, likely exhausted after the night prior... the thought made the lioness giggle, "Mornin', babe," she said, kissing the side of her little Raven's head.
Carefully as to not wake her lover up, Jasmine got out of the bed and head into the bathroom for another shower. Morning rituals didn't take too much of her time and before long she was in the kitchen in nothing but - again - panties and a T-shirt, yet a different pair this time around courtesy of having lost the last one. Soemthing about Rin and ripping underwear apart didn't really mesh together but was kind of hot at the same time. Huh.
In any case, Jasmine turned the TV onto a random channel and begun brewing coffee and getting some scrambled eggs made. Luckily enough the food in Jaeger's fridge still hadn't expired so at the very least they could have breakfast without having to leave the apartment. Now it was just only a matter of time before Rin woke up and by the time she did Jasmine would have a fully prepared breakfast ready for her plus some tea... just the way she liked it.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Quietly, Rin was undressing and getting into the sleepwear. A simple pajamas. Cool, light, soft. Something that allowed Rin to have a good few hours of sleep, without sweating herself half to death. The main reason to wear a pajamas, was because Rin had chosen to skip a shower. Afterall, getting the bed dirty on the very first night would be a little awkward. Or at least, so Rin had initially thought. Comfortably lying under the covers, Rin was already fairly far gone, when Jasmine decided to join Rin in the bedroom. Tiredly, Rin wasn't even reacting to Jasmine entering the room. Figuring that Jasmine was simply there to get a little bit of rest. When the blonde, instead, climbed on top of Rin, who was having her face down into the pillows, their little New York evening soon took a change. Jasmine was ever a playful blonde, not willing to waste a single minute of their vacation. Rin would've complained a little about how tired she was, but Jasmine wasn't in a mood to listen to any complaining. The constant attentionseeking, the nibbles, gnaws, kisses.. Jasmine was riddiculously hard to resist, and when the attention was placed onto Rin's neck, it was game over. Thus, for the next hour, Rin had been perked up a little by the blonde's invasive actions. Not that the raven had seemed to mind in the moment.~...What came with it, was a complete crash. While Jasmine had found energy in herself to get out of bed at a somewhat reasonable time, Rin had been utterly drained, down to the very last ounce of energy. Thus, as Jasmine got up to begin the day, Rin's arm that had been wrapped around the blonde simply flopped onto the bed. If not for the fact that Rin was breathing, snorring softly, one might've very well assumed she had gone into a coma. A Jasmine induced coma. While Jasmine got prepared and ready, Rin slept. While Jasmine prepared breakfast, Rin slept. When the food was done, Rin had woken up, sitting upright in the bed, looking a bit like a gremlin that had been through the drier, looking in the direction of the food with the hungriest expression available to a female. Groaning softly, Rin struggled to get up. Wobbling on her feet, she scratched every part of herself that itched. So much for sleeping in a Pajamas. The clothes were all in a pile in a corner. Together with the very ruined panties. Oh yeah, that happened. Facepalming, the raven soon found herself sitting by the television in the couch. Instinctively, Rin had chosen this as the place she'd be situated, rather than the chair by the tables. This was softer, more comfortable, more relaxing."...Hungry." Rin spoke in a tone that was somewhere inbetween pathetic and adorable. Looking at Jasmine with those sapphire blue eyes, it was almost a request to be fed. Tummy rumbling, Rin would've wanted a shower. It'd have to wait. Rin would've wanted to brush her teeth and get on with the day. It'd have to wait. So while Jasmine made food, Rin was looking through the different channels. All the serious channels used english words that were too difficult for the raven to understand. So, in an odd change of pace, Rin was watching simple American cartoons. Head tilted slightly to the side, Rin wasn't finding it interesting per se. At the very least, it was helping her get a better hold of the accent... Rin could not remember the last time she had watched cartoons. Mostly because her favorites were Disney, and Jasmine had some kind of vicious Disney allergy. So there Rin sat, quietly, looking at the television. Slowly, over time, regaining more of her sentience and energy. For a few short moments it had almost seemed like Rin was functioning as usual, albeit only at 2-3% capacity. As her capacity started to increase, eventually Rin was looking more like herself. Except, completely messed up from the night's adventures."Sweetheart?... What's our plan for today?" Strangely, Rin had been completely fine with Jasmine taking charge. The blonde had been so full of energy coming back here. Rin was taking a backseat. This was Jasmine's home. This was her territory. So Rin allowed the blonde, for once, to drag her to all the places that were important to her. Jasmine was exceedingly excited. Not something she was good at showing usually, but... this was the first time the blonde had made so many small comments about something. First about the tickets, about the day they'd be leaving. Then about where they'd be staying. Even making comments on Jaeger's appartment. It had filled Rin with a warm, comforting feeling. This was the most captivating thing about Jasmine. When the seriousness, internalisation of emotions and general stubbornness gave way for all the beautiful things that Jasmine had to offer. No, Jasmine was not meant to be an emotional person. The lionness was strong, fierce, reliable. Even so, the firecracker was still a person. A person with their own dreams, memories, hopes. It was what made Jasmine's smile so truly beautiful. Rin knew. This was an enormous moment in Jasmine's journey, and she was beyond honored to be able to take that journey with her. Partners in crime, huh... "...Aside from starving me, I mean." Rin added, offering a cheeky smile, clearly trying to tease the blonde a little. It wasn't completely uncommon that Jasmine was the one setting up breakfast. Especially not recently. It was strange how, now that Rin had more time in her schedule, she had begun taking less responsiblity for all the daily things as well. They had begun sharing a lot more of the responsibility at home, and, for once... Rin felt okay not having control over everything. This vacation was going to be the best thing in a long time, and Rin would enjoy it to it's fullest. Fourteen days in a strange country, accompanied with her loving partner. Perfection. If love is a labor I'll slave till the end I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand "The fuck you mean 'starving you,' I'm literally making food as we speak," Jasmine said, a chuckle escaping her at the sight of the little Raven. It wasn't often that the lioness got to see Rin like this - it was more so that she was usually the one half asleep when she wakes up, not the other way around. Jasmine knew that it was Rin's first time on a plane, but goodness did the jetlag hit her girl hard. She almost felt sorry for her. Well... not sorry enough to stay away from her last night but based on the sounds she was making she clearly didn't mind it... too much.
Just as she had mentioned, Jasmine was in the middle of scrambling some eggs for the two of them, taking sips of coffee as she did so. She glanced over her shoulder towards Rin, snorting with some amusement at the image of her looking like a complete mess. Hair over the place, eyes still a food through sandman's door... and don't even get her started at how raspy Rin's voice was sounding. It'd be cute if it wasn't absolutely hilarious.
Eggs, bacon, some neatly chopped up sausage and dill - everything went into the mixture just to have some variety. Jasmine made sure to add just the right enough of spice as she flipped the contents in the pan to perfection. How she managed to actually flip scrambled eggs plus all the other stuff she put in there was anybody's guess, likely one of the world's biggest mysteries. But since Rin wasn't asking Jasmine sure as shit wasn't going to talk about it. Having fried the food enough, she served two portions - one for Rin, and one for herself. The larger portion went for Jasmine, of course. Not because she was selfish but because more often than not Rin ended up not finishing the food when Jasmine split them evenly and so the lioness always ended up eating Rin's scraps.
Add some peas and some more dill, some ketchup and bread on the side if she wanted it, and the food was ready. Kicking the refrigerator's door closed with her foot after having taken the ketchup out, Jasmine carefully made her way to the living room, carrying their dishes, their coffee, and all the other shit with her. Nobody could ever tell her spending time at Bayley's was a bad idea.
She sat down on the couch after setting the plates down, eyes glancing at the cartoons Rin's was watching. Ugh, she hated these new cartoons. Old ones were always better. Specifically the ones from the early 2000s... then again Rin probably didn't know them. "I'm not entirely sure," Jasmine replied, taking another sip of her coffee. "Like, I know Nat's working until the evening - girl couldn't get a day off to save her life. So we can either chill or go sightsee in Manhattan before heading over to Brooklyn. Your pick."
Jasmine, while eating, had taken notice of how Nathan had kept practically every little thing from their time together. The pictures, the old, dusty and barely working tech Jasmine used to work on, some early art work... hell, even the Les Paul gifted to her by Michael was still sitting in the corner. She had to get a second look at it - the damn thing was spotless and practically shining. She smirked to herself. Despite being the seemingly careless idiot he presented himself as, Jaeger could be quite the fucking care bear when he tried.
She turned to Rin, still not able to get over how positively miserable she looked, "How are you feeling, by the way? As bad as you look, or...?"

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy As Jasmine responded that food was on the way, Rin simply buried her head down into her arms, letting out a series of deep, discontent groans. It was rare for Rin to behave this way, though there was no doubt that, if the girl was sick, she'd likely be an awkward mixture of annoying and adorable. The girl was a fuzzball. Everything about her spoke of the sins comitted that night, plus the all too long travel time, yet she seemed unable or unwilling to actually do anything about it at current. As Jasmine walked in, Rin remained with her face buried deep into her arms, groaning softly. The scent of food so alluring that, eventually, she squirmed around to get up sitting. Mouth half agape, she stared at the bacon, eggs and bread as if it was a godsend. Reaching forwards, she began munching on it. For a short moment, one might've seen a small tear of joy at the corner of her eyes. God, getting a solid meal was so good. Swallowing, several tremors went through her body as she began returning to life. Being this hungry, eating this fast, actually physically hurt. Stopping for a short moment, Rin let out a soft sigh, stretching her body to it's fullest length before, half dead, looking over at Jasmine. "Food provider, I love you so much." A somewhat goofy grin apparent on her lips, as she simply continued to eat, half watching the cartoons at the same time. When the blonde asked Rin how she felt, the girl looked a bit at herself. Running a scan, Rin shrugged, finishing her mouthful before replying. "I'm not really sure. I just slept like some kind of cave bear hibernating, but I still feel we've been up all night watching some kind of marathon. Food certainly helps, though." As time went by, there were a few more hints of playful notices in Rin's voice. In the words that she chose to speak, in the subtle ways she looked at Jasmine, as if Jasmine was the most delicious snack in the world. Considering the proposition, Rin weighed the options. They only had twelve days here, and they would have plenty of time to chill and relax once they returned to Japan. So... "After I finish breakfast, I'll get showered and we can chill in Manhattan." Of course, that was the obvious choice. Walking around sightseeing, sharing some candy, having an icecream, Jasmine sharing memories. It sounded like the perfect way to spend their afternoon, before having to meet up with Nat."I see. I was a little surprised there was no one to greet you at the airport, but, with how busy they seem to be, that makes a little more sense." Rin replied softly, finishing up her meal, struggling to contain a small burp from escaping. Patting her own stomach, Rin was increasingly docile. Yet the color to her cheeks was returning, as was the glinting spark in her eyes. "...I wonder if your bacon and eggs taste better than mine, because I didn't have to cook it... Or if its because you made it with love?" Rin chuckled, joking, as she slowly got to her feet. Wobbling a bit, she began heading to the bathroom to get herself ready for heading out for the day. Stepping into the shower, Rin took her time. Each drop of water was causing life to flow through her body. Brushing her hair in depth, in detail, with vigor, every knot and fuzziness was removed.Getting dressed, brushing her teeth, Rin soon returned to being mostly like herself. Aside from having a slight black ring around her eyes. Coming back out the bathroom, Rin b-lined directly for Jasmine, placing a kiss on the blonde's cheek. "Hey honey, I'm back.~" Rin said in the softest tone, having a bit of an accompanying chuckle. Wrapping her arms around Jasmine, Rin gave her love a passionate hug. "I hope you didn't miss me too much?" This was going to be the perfect vacation for the two of them. There was nothing to interfere. Nothing to get in the way. Just the two of them, together, on an adventure. Quirk: Crimson Angel (C-rank) Stamina (F-rank) Medicine (D-rank) Blood Acrobat (E-rank) Blood Rush (D-rank) Gentle Crimson Fists (E-rank)

If love is a labor I'll slave till the end I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand "More like running one," Jasmine offhandedly mentioned, a short snicker leaving her as she chewed on her food. She skewered a large piece of bacon and shoveled inside her mouth with some peas and took a large bite of her bread before washing it all down with some coffee. God it had been a while since she made a breakfast like this. As much as she disliked American food for how much shit it had in it, often feeling like she was eating plastic, food in Japan wasn't much better depending on where you bought it. Don't even get her started on the bacon there. Felt like it was imported from the moon sometimes. In New York, though, Jasmine already knew all the places where to buy what and it was no surprise that Nathan had the same knowledge she did. The bacon was the exact one she'd buy and she recognized it not just by the packaging but by the taste alone too.
She glanced at Rin from the corner of her eye, humming to herself. "Well I'm sure they would've met us at the airport but I specifically didn't tell them when we'd be flying in. Honestly I figured both of us would be exhausted by the time we landed and as much as I wanted to see them I'm just as likely to punch Troy in the face for being annoying as I am to say hi to him. I'd rather not punch him in the face after a whole year, y'know?" The blonde explained, chuckling at the comment. Honestly Troy probably would've expected her to punch him, which made him even more likely to have tried to annoy the living crap out of her.
"Well, that and I think I have a little more practice with bacon and eggs than you do. If you haven't noticed that's what we eat when I cook on, uhh... 'good' days where I'm in a good mood," she explained and nodded sagely as if that gave more proof to reinforce her statement. Before long the two of them had finished with their food and while Jasmine did the dishes Rin went over to take a shower. After doing the dishes, getting kissed and firmly grabbing Rin's behind for a few very enticing seconds, Jasmine herself went to the shower to get cleaned up.
Jasmine never showered for too long. Unlike Rin, the girl didn't linger under the hot stream of water for too long. Since she was already pretty much a heater through her own heightened body temperature, Jasmine very often took mildly-to-icy-cold showers, which never took too long. If she had things to ponder she'd do them while training. Showers were strictly to clean up. Well the other reason why Jasmine would stay in the shower for prolonged periods of time was if Rin would come in with her, but that should not be spoken of right now nor was this the case at this particular point.
After coming out of the bathroom after about five or so minutes, the girl, dressed in nothing but a towel, rummaged through their bags to find some clothes. Her outfit of choice consisted of a long long-sleeved black v-neck which she tucked into blue denim shorts, stockings, black boots and a brown leather jacket that she left unzipped and rolled up the sleeves of. After getting dressed she tied her hair up into a singular pony tail, put on the locket Nathan had gifted her, and the earrings Rin got her for her birthday. Some make-up was, of course, necessary. Not enough to really be noticed but just enough to make her eyes pop.
"Aight, let's head out, huh?" She asked, shoving her hands into her jacket's pocket and offering her arm for Rin to grab on to.
From Gramercy they went straight towards Midtown Manhattan, hitting a couple of spots along the way with Jasmine sparing no expense telling Rin about the many places she'd been in and the shenanigans she'd gotten up to. They passed by Gramercy Theatre and a story of how Michael had tried to perform there had blown up in his face. An audience of elderly people when he crashed a ballet performance with some heavy metal wasn't exactly what he was expecting but it was what he got, the fucking idiot. They passed by 23rd Street where they grabbed some coffee to go before heading into Madison Square Park. The place wasn't huge but it was nice and tidy despite New York being the, well... pile of shit that it often was. Tourists were bustling all around, some people peddling their wares, performers in one corner or another playing a wide variety of instruments. The two girls had spent some time looking through everything but, again, didn't linger long. Jasmine knew how tourist hazing went and she was sure as shit not letting Rin go through that nonsense. Better leave the place before some bum tries to sell a re-purposed Swiss Army Knife made for the bedroom.
After the park, they went down Broadway and through Koreatown, or K-Town, as Jaz called it. Ethnically speaking the place was mostly inhabited by Koreans and other type of Asian people, as the name would have suggested. Lots of food stalls were spread all around, most offering a variety of cuisine that would probably be more familiar to Rin as you'd see stuff like this pretty often in Japan, too. In the distance the Empire State Building could be seen through the gaps between the buildings and the lioness had quickly caught her little Raven staring at the building, later glancing back at the blonde with this can we go? please? please! type of look on her face. A snicker left her, "We will. But later. Come on,"
Regardless of any type of pouts from her little Raven, Jasmine dragged her over to Times Square where she stopped and admired the sight of the many lights, the many adverts, and the number of people that made downtown Tokyo feel small in comparison.
"So, what do ya think?" Jasmine would ask, glancing back at Rin with a small smile on her face.
