Was this happiness?
The last couple days, that question was in the back of Luzia's head, but every time it made its way to the surface of her mind, she got distracted. In the end, she didn't care; she had one of the best things in the world, at least the third best thing; money. In a lot of ways, she still couldn't believe that she had gotten this money... it was just... sitting in a briefcase in the middle of a house. Another question kept popping into her head now and then: How did this happen? Again, she didn't care... well, mostly. A woman gave her this money. A woman online... but not just online. She met her, a purple-haired lady... one with a bone quirk. Luzia didn't want to think about that, though; that whole... event was not something she remember. Voices, skinless monsters, evil creatures... she didn't want to think about how she owed this lady. She didn't even have to think about it! Yesterday... yesterday was wonderful! New clothes! So many showers! New cigarettes, lots of food, even a motel room! Today... today was even better!
Yesterday, she ate convenience store food... but tonight... tonight she was all the way at the top! She sat in a booth, right next to a window, so she can look into the night, but she wasn't staring out of it much; inside was much more interesting to her. She was eating in one of the best restaurants in the entirety of Tokyo; she wasn't even in the slums anymore, she was in the rich side! Her 'dinner' - as very late into the night as it was, was merely her lunch, and even now it was half-way done, not that it looked it. Nearly the entire table was covered with food; yakiniku, sashimi, gyudon, even chankonabe, and many more foods were on the table, and she even had several drinks, some of them alcoholic. It was all far, far, far more than she could ever eat, but she didn't care; she was having the time of her life! The waiters, the cooks... they were serving her! Her! She could tell them to do whatever she wanted and they did it!
She was even dressed in some very new clothes; a red cloak was draped behind her on her seat, and wearing a pink-and-red dress with short, small ruffles at the skirt-like, and even thighhighs. It wasn't bargain bin, and they might not have lasted long in the streets, but right now, as Luzia stuffed her face, drank sweet wines and cold sodas, she wasn't homeless. She wasn't depressed, she wasn't alone... right now, she was rich, clean, and beautiful.

Silk. It wasn't imported. It wasn't even exported. It was woven, fresh silk, from a quirk Kasey didn't want to admit was at her disposal. She had simply too much of a heavy hand over things. Anything you needed, Kasey could get it, assuming she didn't already have it. She knew people, but most of the time, she was people. She held onto the inside collar of her black suit. Her hands covered and hidden behind gloves as dark as the night. Her shirt a faded obsidian. A loose ebony tie around her neck. She was dressed in shadows, and her silver hair was again painted violet. It hung loose, cascading over her shoulders as she pushed it to her back. A single color remained on her clothing. A gold pin, with a azure inset crystal. The embodiment of money, the pin of a Ketsujo Executive. The blue and gold "KC" hung there, no bigger than an American penny. Kasey reached to her hands, pulling them deeper onto her fingers as she walked forward. The alleys and streets of Tokyo where filled with scum, after all, it was pretty much the slums. But each step on the sidewalk, only brought more questions. What happened to that girl? The Painter? Kasey's face was covered and hidden behind a mask made of her own bone, only her jaw seen. Her face widened more than it normally was, trying to hide her face shape with a bit of her quirk in use. But with the view of a pink haired girl, only brought Kasey more concerns. [Bones: PM@SweetPainter:] How are you fairing? [Bones: PM@SweetPainter:] You didn't spend all of that money in one place, did you? She lowered her phone from her view, only to pear at the girl in the window. She had more than enough food, and was in no way going to finish it all. She was familiar, almost as if it was one of Cherry's friends. One of her sister's friends. What a silly idea. Kasey smiled, shrugged it off, taking another step along the road, but her gaze was fixed on the woman. ~ Word Count: 372 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

Peace.
Tonight, she wasn't homeless, she wasn't poor, she wasn't dirty, she wasn't nobody. She was someone; she was listened to, she was part of the crowd... she could look at the same band as everyone else, she could hear them playing traditional Japanese music with everyone else. She was the same as them.
And the food! So many different foods, and each of them were better than the last! Luzia didn't even notice that, in a high class restaurant like this, she still stood out from the way she devoured her food, excitedly stuffing beef, pork, noodles, and vegetables in her mouth, moving from one dish to the next only taking a bite or two before moving to something else. Everything tasted so fresh, so new, so different, every taste was... it was almost orgasmic!
Was this happiness? She could believe it was.
Luzia didn't notice when the band shifted songs, but as she downed a big gulp of beer, she went wide-eyed, her grin only getting louder as their song suddenly got a new beat! She started bouncing in her seat, shifting and swaying to the beat, pulling a few white pills and downing them just to add to her happiness, still grinning as she did. A vibrating startled her, pulling her out of her mostly-drug-free high slightly, almost making her choke on her pills. She swallowed her gulp awkwardly, coughing slightly before pulling out her phone. She blinked in surprise when she saw a message for her. She smiled though, and quickly typed back.
SweetPainter: I'm doing great! I've gotten myself some new clothes and food and I'm having a blast! Thank you so much!!!
She still grinned as she set the phone back down. In the back of her mind, a part of her felt like she was gonna owe this person - people always wanted you to owe them - but she didn't let that thought surface enough to bring her down. She just resumed stuffing her face, relishing in the warmth spreading from her belly.

"You've got to fucking be kidding me."The woman stopped in her track, only to watch the girl pick up her phone. Surely it didn't mean anything, right? But it wasn't until she put it away, and Kasey's own phone got a reply back from her guest. It was far too much to consider a coincidence. And even if she was wrong, she was just a mask executive. She would pay her way to leave without an issue, and bind anyone else to a contract that forbade them from speaking of the matter. That, or kill them. Kasey smiled as she changed direction to head straight for the front door of the establishment. A pink haired girl, who seemed to have more money than she knew what to spend it on, getting and sending a message as Kasey addressed the Painter? it had to be her. Opening the front door, she would be greeted with staff, only to point at the pin on her jacket. Most, if not all bussiness understood the meaning behind the pin. Only few earned it, and even less used them. To her, this place, even if on the nicer side of town, was still filth. It was where the poor strived to eat regardless of the taste or other factors. Kasey folded her hands along her lower back, only to approach the table with the girl. She watched the Painter take her meal in full. "Well, you're welcome." Kasey would say. The mask and hair just a familiar sight for the girl, perhaps. Luzia tried to cram more food down her throat, but it was getting harder and harder, which only made Luzia happier and happier. To have food was one thing, but so much food that she was going to explode? It was such a strange, but amazing feeling! It hurt a little, but it felt good more than it hurt. Even if it hurt, though, she stuffed yet another bite into her mouth; the food was even better than the wonderfully full feeling, and she wanted to never stop eating! Still, though, her body was starting to protest, so she set her chopsticks down with a sigh that was both happy and disappointed. Still, though, she continued to smile, leaning back and rubbing her tummy, closing her eyes and just... relishing in this feeling.
While she rested, her smile faded a little, and she peeked an eye open to her phone. She didn't want to think about it, but she couldn't help the feeling of distrust bobbing up inside her. She wasn't sure what to think of this person... rich people... people like that didn't care about people like her at all. But this person... there was no way she cared, right? All this money, the free house... that was just to put her in her debt, right? That's how it went in the world.... Still, Luzia didn't want to think about paying this back, she didn't want to think about the stormcloud over her head, she didn't want to think about some person eventually coming for her. Besides, she was mostly okay with it, and besides... this person didn't send the cops after her after the whole Semper Fi thing... in fact, she just gave her credit for killing the monster. She put her on the news...
Maybe she wasn't so bad after all?
Luzia stared at her phone, almost expecting the bone lady to respond to her, tapping one of her drink glasses idly with a finger as she snacked on a little bit more food.
"Well, you're welcome."
Luzia blinked, looking up from her phone, eyes locking onto a stranger. Luzia stared, her eyebrow quirked, her first thoughts going from 'who?' to 'what?'. She didn't know this lady; who was she to just come up to her randomly? And why was she saying 'you're welcome'? Luzia narrowed her eyes, but it only took a few seconds for her eyes to widen. She finally connected the dots, and the realization... first made her flinch. The first thing she thought of was Semper Fi... the monsters... the fire, the shooting, the explosions, the police......
The screaming. The endless, thought-drowning screaming.
Luzia flinched away, gritting her teeth softly, quickly pulling her trusty orange bottle to pop a couple of her own personal happiness. She swalloed them down hard, then looked back at her, forcing those feelings down. New ones cropped up, and her next thoughts went back to how people around her liked to put people in debt. Her tone was sour, her red eyes looking back up to the purple-haired lady who she still couldn't have an opinion on. Unaware of the ambiguity, she asked a simple question, a part of her hoping and waiting for her pills to kick in quickly and bring her mood back up.
"Is it collection time already?"

There is nothing sure in this world besides death and taxes. Perhaps a cannibal super-villain coming to collect dues, counted as one or the other, or might as well been a third constant. ". . . What are we collecting?" Kasey would say, only taking a few steps forward to sit across from the girl. Kasey was a bussiness woman, but that didn't make her smart. She was still a stray cat that fed of the dumpsters of Japan. For her, it was a trade that benefited herself, more than the girl. A visit, that was more to ease her mind, than anything else. But would Kasey understand the real result of her actions? Did she have any idea of who Luzia made Kasey out to be? Kasey turned to look at the watch on he left wrist. "You don't mean painting, do you? Is this the time you do that? It's a bit early, don't you think?" Painter. A palette of blood. The color of red to cover the town. That was the image she got with a name like that. Though, if she was a hero, the idea of ink warriors made of paint to fight for you, was the flip thought. "You don't look like you come here often." Kasey would say, looking at the girl and her meal before her. It seemed like a splurge of money. Was she really poor? Was the case all of the wealth the girl had to her name? Kasey had to admit, she did look a lot happier. ". . . You do have a roof over your head, right?" Kasey wondered, curious if she could, or should, rather, offer the girl a bed. But what would she make of it? ~ Word Count: 290 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

"What are we collecting?"
Luzia looked up at that, her eyes narrowed subtly in wariness. Was she messing with her? Was she testing her? Would make sense... but it didn't look like this girl, Bones, was understanding. But it was hard to tell... Bones was wearing a mask; reading her would be impossible. Luzia couldn't help but grind her teeth slightly, tapping the tip of a chopstick against the table as she got more nervous... at least until Bones asked her next question. Luzia went wide-eyed; despite the fact that Bones didn't say anything to suggest trouble, she couldn't help but get a little nervous and look around just to make double sure that no would could hear them.
When she confirmed that to herself, Luzia shook her head, her tone quieter just in case. "No, I don't need anything like that. I'm having fun. See?" She smiled faintly as the nervousness faded a little, motioning over the food and drink all but piled on the table. Just the sight alone made her happy and sick - although the latter was just because she was stuffed full. Even so, she was happy, because that feeling was one she didn't feel often. Though, despite the incredible amount of stuff on the table, to the point there was barely room for anything else, Luzia still didn't offer Bones a seat or anything on the table... more out of simple inexperience than out of malice.
Her eyes narrowed when Bones made a quip about not being from around here, pressing her thumb against her chopstick, threatening to snap it, but even though the question annoyed her, she was too full to be very mad... and really, she was right. Luzia shifted in her booth to lean back against the window, her lips curled downward in a slight pout... but her eyes narrowed more at the question of the bed, annoyed even more. "Yeah, I do," she said curtly.
Of course, she neglected to mention that it was the very same roof that Bones was providing her.

The bone covering on her face was not the only mask Kasey was wearing. She hid behind bright colors, suits and various dresses. She changed her outlook so often, she had forgotten herself. Which was herself? What part of her was real, and wasn't just another masked side of her dice? Who was to say what was real behind her mask? Not even her emotions seemed genuine anymore. It was all an elaborate act. When she spoke, Kasey looked over at the food, and noticed the girl seemed a bit more thrilled with herself. She wasn't so angry at snacks and honey water. With a shrug in her head, Kasey took a step forward, taking a seat opposing the girl. She semed well off, and seemed to have a plan on how to spend her little gift. But did she need more? How well off was she? Kasey imagined her to be a sort of drifter with her activity so inconsistent, but perhaps she didn't need it. Taking her seat, she couldn't help but note how she passed over arguably the more important questions Kasey had for her. "I happened to be walking by, it would be rude of me to not make sure you were well off." Kasey liifted her left arm pull out her phone, unlocking it to glance at the time, a series of numbers she did not understand. But with an alert reminding her that soon was soon she shuffled it away, before trying to plan her next act. She tapped her fingers before moving to get up, not stay too long. "I only wished to see that you were well, and the fees were more than enough to repay you." Kasey would bow her head, and unless the girl said anything Kasey would rise from the booth to stand. Where to go, would be for her to decide. "If you need a job, or if you need help, let me know." Kasey would say, lifting a hand to her lips, as if to whisper to her a secret, though she spoke at the same tone and volume. "If you're really itching for a meal, I can take you to a resort and you can even pick the animal you want to eat."~ Word Count: 395 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

This girl was still confusing... she gave credit to her when that shitshow went down. Not just killing that monster, though... she said it was her fault that the students fought with each other, and a few other things, too. Not that she minded the attention... in fact, she loved it... but it was wrong, too. It wasn't right. Why? That question had been in her mind ever since she saw her be mentioned on the news...
...But she still didn't ask. Well, she did, online, but her answer was confusing, so she didn't bother again. And she didn't ask why she was checking up on her... she didn't really need to know. Luzia looked away from the woman when she checked her phone, not really sure what to say. It's not like people just gave away 2 million yen - what was she supposed to say to something like that?! It still didn't feel right... there was no way in hell she'd say no to something like that, but it still felt like she was being lured into some sort of trap.
Luzia tried to not look at the woman, whether out of fear or respect or just confusion... she just looked out the window, avoiding eye contact. She looked back when Bones got up, though, wide-eyed in surprise, a strong twang of guilt suddenly going through her. "Ah, wait!" She paused when Bones put a finger to her lips, giving her an offer that was... hard to refuse... but she was already very full. She looked over the meal in front of her... way too massive for most single people, then back to Bones. "I'll... um... keep it in mind... would you like to stay for some food? I have plenty..."
The Painter ignored how odd those words felt on her tongue. That's what she was supposed to do, right, offer food? That was polite?

Everything had a reason. To point a finger at a villain who wanted it, was to shift the mayhem she herself caused. The consumed and murdered people dying at the hands of The painter. The Janitor trying to keep everything under control. It was a good story, and one the world wanted to believe. It was easier than the truth. Kasey only sweetened the trade by offering a large sum of money. Something to Kasey, that was meaningless. Money had no value in her life. What was two million? The Ketsujo Corporation made that in a day. And she didn't even have to work for it. As she shuffled to rise, the girl's words only begged her to stay for another moment. Kasey nodded, taking her seat once more. "Well, if I'm none too much of a bother." Kasey would smile from behind the mask, taking in a bit of the meal and tossing it into her mouth. "Well, in any case, feel free to ask me anything, or ask of me anything. I will gladly assist you in any way I can, free of charge."Free of charge? No, those words were odd. Why did they sound so strange coming from her? But were they wrong? To offer her hand without the hint of trying to get something in return? No. All Kasey wanted, was a friend. ~ Word Count: 227 ~ [Kasey & Setsuna] || TrackerQuirks/Abilities: Spirit Harvest : C Iron Stomach : E | Out of Body Experience : F | Busy-ness License : D Regeneration : D |

There was a funny feeling in her chest, a tightness... she felt nervous. She was hosting, right? This was hosting. It felt weird. Strange. It didn't feel right... this wasn't her house, she never had a house. She never really had enough money to share, either... maybe a bite of a snack, but this... this was a whole feast, and she was totally full! ...But that thought made her pause, and she looked down at the table again, and suddenly, she felt stupid. She looked back up at the girl, this groomed, well-dressed girl with millions of yen she can just throw at whatever worthless homeless she passed... and Luzia suddenly felt like she was disappointed, like she was judging her for having so much food, more than she could eat. Luzia felt bad, she felt awful that she had to host this girl in such an embarrassing way... she probably thought she was stupid, she was probably judging her...
...how dare she! Luzia's fingers curled, narrowing her eyes at the lady that was judging her. This bitch was looking down on her just because she had more money, better clothes, more power?! Who was she to act so high and mighty? She'd die just like everyone else! Luzia stopped her mouth from going into a snarl when she remembered that this lady showed some power back during the 'incident', and grudgingly admitted that she might put up a fight.
Luzia forced a smile on her face, her best innocent smile, when the lady said to ask her for anything. "No, no, you've already given me enough money to live on! I couldn't possibly ask for anything else!" Her voice was soft and sweet, hiding the outright hate that suddenly appeared in her heart. This lady had enough money to throw at a random homeless and not even blink, and she wanted to give more? Where did she get off?

"O-oh..." the words fell from her lips. Was the painter displeased? Was she no longer requesting aid? Was there nothing else Kasey could do? The young girl. now the head of a major powerhouse in Japan. A leader in every sense, a person who had been so used to following orders, had no idea how to lead her army. Here, she made her attempt to gain a following, only for her heart to grow enslaved to the idea of servitude. It was almost her desire. It was natural to her. She simply obeyed, and now she had served her part. There was nothing else for her to do for this woman. "I-I see." her voice shaken. Any villain, or normal person would have jumped at the offer of money. It was obvious she was wealthy and it had posed no real object to her. In her life, it was meaningless. She had what she wanted, and those things were not something you could simply buy. Even if she could, it was never worth the price paid. "Y-you see, it's not quite often I have the time to relax." she would tell her. "Even for just a moment. Both sides of my life are . . . " Her slow tone changed up with a quick inhale. "Nevermind that. I'm sure you don't care about my troubles. What made you choose this place to feast upon all others?" She reached out to another bit of food, her gloved fingers wrapping around some more morsels to be tossed in her mouth. It was strange to her. When she did spend money, she spent it on what tasted the best. Often, unknown to her, was the most pricey of places. But numbers held no meaning in her life. It was either spend money for good food, or she was satisfied with any and all leftovers. ~ Word Count: 309 ~ |

It took so much of Luzia's effort to keep her smile on her face, to stop this girl from seeing her anger, to stay nice. She kept her smile up, she kept it sweet and nice, just to be friendly; this lady was horrible, but she was a good source of money, and Luzia didn't want to lose that. She didn't like this person who would so happily rub her richness right in her fucking face, but maybe she could still mooch off of it at some point...
Luzia closed her eyes, taking a slow, subtle breath through her nose. She had to calm down; being angry here was bad. She had to be nice, at least for now....
It took several breathes, but she stopped the bubbling under her skin, she could feel it calming down, and she opened her eyes just in time for Bones to continue. Luzia stared at her blankly, not buying the idea that the life of a girl as rich as her was hard. But, her question was a grateful change of topic, and, reminded of her own overstuffedness, Luzia leaned back with a soft grimace, shrugging softly as she gently rubbed her stomach. "This place always smelled good. Ya know this place is ran by an ex-sumo? I figured that there wasn't really a whole lot of places where you could get a good meal than from someone as big as them."
