Mutual Hate (G)

Eli watched as the man who he had assumed was following him flung the knife out of his hand, leaving him disarmed. Now that they were close Eli recognized the man...It was Miku's father! Eli controlled the knife to come back to his hand as he put it back in his pocket, it could be useful later after all! Then he addressed the situation, "Oh you're Miku's dad right? Sorry but I'm no villain, simply looked like you were following me! A hero in training can't let someone kidnap him ya know!" 

As for G being number one...Eli wasn't so sure about that. He had the martial arts stuff down but Eli hadn't seen the guy use his quirk so he couldn't really say whether he was an amazing hero or vigilante. The martial arts part definitely intrigued Eli though...he could use another trainer. Plus Darren had a specific type of teaching, and while tennis balls being thrown at a shield helped, Eli could use a different method every now and then. "So I uh...couldn't help but notice the martial arts stuff, you think the 'Number One' has time for a student?" Eli did a quote motion when he said number one as a joke, which was easy to tell by his expression. 

This G guy definitely knew his way around martial arts though, Eli wasn't so bad that just anyone could disarm him. He was likely at around Darrens level, maybe higher. Eli hoped he was accepting students! He looked at G, anticipating his answer.

So much for a personal teacher! The guy already had six students! At the mention of prove his worth Eli gave G a huge grin, "I'd expect as much!" He said just before G asked him the question of his choosing. Of course, it was one that made Eli think for a good minute. He never really thought about why he wanted to be a hero, it just seemed like something he always wanted. He knew that it wasn't really about money or fame, if that was the case there were plenty of other careers he could go for! As Eli came to a conclusion, he looked G in the eyes and answered him, "I wanna save people, simple as that! If money or fame was important, then I would just go be a wrestler or something, same thing with it being a place to let my anger out. There's tons of jobs and careers for that stuff. Being a hero is the only way I can save people with the least amount of restrictions. The reason I'm at UA as opposed to other schools is simple. I want to go to the best hero school, plus it was near my house already. Even so, I know it doesn't just take a good school to make you a great hero." 

With his statement finished, Eli put his hands into the pockets of his black jacket. He looked around for a bit, and then at his watch. He was starting to worry about the time! He needed to get groceries and the store could be closing soon! "You mind if we continue this conversation while walking? I gotta get some groceries at the store and I think they close soon!" Eli then turned and started walking, if G didn't follow it was his decision anyways and he would wave goodbye to him. If he did follow and accept him as a student that would be great too! Eli needed his food though!

Eli smiled at his new teacher, happy that he had given an acceptable answer! G even agreed to walk with him to get groceries. The mention of the chat room didn't shock Eli in the slightest, it made sense with organizing lessons and scheduling different stuff. Using Pink Jackal as their training area surprised him a little though, but he didn't mind training in a night club. Eli put his thoughts into words, "I'm glad my answer was satisfactory to you um..." Eli thought of what to call his new teacher, "Teacher? Sensei? Just G? I'm not sure which one you would prefer to be called..." Eli paused for a moment to give G time to answer, then resumed speaking his mind, "The chat will be useful, I'm guessing I'll need a username right? How's..." Eli thought about how to make his username obvious, but not obvious, finally he thought of it! "CrystalGuy123?" Eli said, striking a cool pose. His right hand was up in the air, with his left planted on his hip, a classic super hero pose in all its glory. Before G could interrupt him, Eli once again began to speak "The way I came up with the name is because my quirk...has to do with" As Eli thought about it, he realized he shouldn't give his quirk away quite yet. While G did seem trustworthy and all, but nothing bad could come of keeping it a secret. He would only reveal it if his new teacher specifically requested him to do so, but for now he continued to keep it a secret, "Actually I don't wanna give it away yet sorry! Anyways that's what I'm gonna go with! The night club thing isn't a big deal, I've been in far less comfortable places after all!" Eli was happy with the name he had chosen, though maybe he could come up with better after giving it more thought. If he did, he would simply tell G and ask if he could change his name.



Eli also wondered who the other five students were, but knew that G wouldn't give him a straight answer. They could be other kids from his school! But they could also just be random people he had never met. Miku was extremely likely since G was her father. Other than that, Eli didn't have a clue as to who they could be. Other vigilantes was also a possibility, but Eli didn't know any other then the 'Numbah 1' himself. Eli figured he was bound to not know at least one or two of G's students, but then again, if Miku was one her friends were likely also a part of it. Then it hit him, other than Miku, the most likely to be one of the students was Akio. The one person in all of UA who he truly hated was probably also G's student. Flashbacks of their fight and the scolding they both received from Elise flowed through his head. Perhaps it wasn't so bad though, they could have a rematch, and Eli could put Akio in his place once and for all. Plus maybe they could finally say their peace and make up like Elise had wanted, at least if Akio got his head out of his ass anyways. As for the other three students, Eli didn't have the slightest clue. At least he knew two people that were likely in it, even if one was Akio it was better than a stranger.



Finally Eli's mind wandered to other things, he couldn't help but wander what G's quirk was, and what lessons they would be having. However he didn't want to ask G his quirk since it would likely result in revealing his. Still Eli couldn't contain his thoughts, "So do you have any lessons in mind, or is it a secret! Spars are a given, but is there anything cool like...I don't know us seeing you do vigilante work or something? Maybe teaching us some martial arts moves or cool hero poses! Maybe we could go the rescue route! But that would be a lot harder to test since most of us are likely inexperienced and shouldn't be anywhere near a crisis yet." Eli assumed G was a vigilante due to the fact that he didn't look like any of the pros he had seen when he looked them up, or in person. Red Horn who he had met in person had a strange way of going about things, as if she was restricted in what she could say and do. Other pro heroes that he had seen on TV in interviews, and on the internet seemed to do the same thing. G didn't seem to have that uneasy feeling though. It was like he was free while the others weren't Eli also noticed that G had been acting much less...iconic. That is, he wasn't what most people would picture a hero to look like. For example, Eli could tell he had been patrolling the area, yet he wore no costume. The government would almost definitely make him wear one, so he figured he was probably right. These realizations made Eli wander if being a pro hero was really better than just being a vigilante. He decided to ask his teacher, "This might get a little bit more serious then usual but...why did you chose to become a vigilante as opposed to becoming a pro hero. You don't have to answer I'm just...questioning some things. So if you don't mind answering I would love to hear your reasoning behind it." A much more serious question then Eli was used to asking, his tone was slightly more serious. It sounded almost foreign to Eli himself, but to someone who wasn't used to hearing him yet, like G, it would almost sound normal. Eli awaited G's answer as he continued walking to the grocery store with him.

Eli couldn't help but burst out in laughter at G's response on what to call him. He could tell him and his master and him would get along extremely well. Eli knew he kind of gave part of his quirk away accidentally but he hoped since he wanted to not give his quirk away, G wouldn't tell any of his other five students. The lessons G had planned were very intriguing to Eli. There was the usual physical, fighting moves, and sparring. The other half of his plans really seemed interesting. Hero villain scenarios, hero philosophy, and faux internships really interested the student. The one he was most excited for was the hero villain scenario. Eli agreed that most hero poses being a joke and that they were too flashy for something heroes should generally use. Thus he voiced his opinion on the matter, "I agree that most are way too flashy and publicity shouldn't matter, but I also want to have a really cool pose associated with me ya know? Like the media and stuff doesn't matter, but for the people I think having a cool pose is similar to having a smile on your face to make them feel like it will be okay?" 

Eli's serious expression completely conflicted with his playful personality, but G's answer was basically everything he expected...except for the villain part. Eli had no idea about G's past but he didn't want to get into it with him. His past was his own and it had brought him to where he was today, regardless of his reasoning Eli decided to not pry. Eli was happy for G that he was the number one vigilante, he was also glad that G had redeemed himself in his own eyes. In response to all G had to say Eli mostly agreed, "I'm glad you redeemed yourself and aren't a villain any more, even if you had your reasons. The freedom is definitely a plus to vigilantes and I feel like the publicity would really get in the way of hero work. I'm not trying to defend Darkshine a whole lot but maybe that's why she's always busy with work other than hero stuff. I personally think there's a little too much regulation, I don't think we should kill or anything like that but I do believe that too much restriction can get in the way. It just seems like the government is just trying to have a way of controlling us. Maybe it's just me though..."

Eli started to feel like the topic was much too serious for him, so he tried changing the subject even though he knew G was probably gonna stay on it, "So anyways how's Miku been doing lately? I haven't seen her around for a while but we talk in the UA chat a little bit. Anything notable happen?" Eli thought to the last time he had seen the blonde girl. It was at a park with her and Alex, who was no longer a student at UA. They had a good time and even got some pizza. It was cheerful memories like that that gave the boy his smile. He couldn't wait to share another with her whenever she was free to train with him in preparation for the festival. Eli stopped walking for a sec and pulled out his phone to check his card for money just in case he didn't have enough. Luckily there was around 5000 yen that his uncle had given him. He would be sure to thank him later, probably during the sports festival. He was still extremely excited for the obstacle course. He couldn't wait to prove UA and class 1=C were superior to everyone else!

Eli took in everything his teacher had to say, he got approval for a hero pose. Not surprising with what his reasoning was. To make people feel happy and safe just because Eli was there. That's what he wanted. The entire reason he chose to fight like a knight and use it in his hero name was because of how people felt when they would be saved by a knight. All the pain, all the fear, all the suffering would go away as soon as a knight showed up. That's the kind of hero he wanted to be one day. The kind that not only stopped villains physically, but also the emotions they caused.

At his comments on how Darkshine wasn't a hero in his eyes, Eli couldn't help but agree. He hadn't once seen her do hero work where there wasn't a camera. He hadn't ever even seen talks of her being on patrol. She was more of a person the government needed to fill the role than a hero. Eli didn't want that for himself...but vigilantes were also heavily looked down on. It was a hard decision, and Eli decided he wouldn't make the decision today. Maybe he should talk to Yumi about it? She would definitely help him decide since she was the class president. She always seemed busy though...He decided to figure out the details later, and simply told G the way he felt about hero and vigilantes, "I agree that Darkshine isn't really a hero, especially not recently. I don't think it was through subscriptions or any of that though. I think at one point she was an extremely competent hero but got complacent over time. Like the whole 'I've already earned my spot I don't have to do anything else' type thing." Eli was glad Alex had left UA, if he had heard him talk about Darkshine this way Eli wouldn't hear the end of it. Still, he missed the shadow kid.

Shaking the thoughts of his former classmate away, Eli listened to G's response about Miku. It was definitely strange that G, the overprotective dad, wouldn't check on Miku that often. Eli wondered if it was because she asked him not to. He decided he should put the guy at ease and give him a small update based on his knowledge, "I don't talk with her a whole lot, but me and her are supposed to meet up before the festival to train. She's gonna use her quirk to make obstacles for me, and since I'm doing the obstacle course I'm gonna go through it. I've also been helping her get information on some of the opponents she'll be facing in the tournament. Oh and we're also both in the primarily rock band, you're looking at the lead guitarist of OD Hazard! We've been helping each other out quite a bit!" Eli smiled, the thought of the sweet girl Miku that would be helping him caused Eli to not be able to resist it. He couldn't wait to see Miku so they could train.

Eli couldn't believe how much he agree with G. The public viewed heroes as someone to look up to, which made the profession start to change from just people trying to save others to who's more famous and a bunch of idiotic rankings. At least, that's how Eli saw it. Soon the conversation shifted to a Mexican standoff type of situation. It was good that everyone could make light of such a big event. Maybe if G was there Thunder wouldn't have escaped. "I wish you had been there too, not just because it would've been a battle of the number ones, but also because Thunder likely would have been apprehended. Two heads are better than one ya know." 

The conversation soon changed to Miku, and Eli could see G's happiness from the smile he had. It was interesting that she had been his drummer, Eli wondered what happened to their band. He decided not to pry though. "Yea we're a mix of a lot of things but mostly rock and metal. The classics though, not this new stuff. I still haven't even performed with them once though so, Mine and Miku's first one is actually the opening at the sports festival, you're welcome to come if you want!" Eli was pretty excited for the show, hopefully the crowd wouldn't be too huge though!
