sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
There was no such thing as a quiet night in Kabukicho. It was the Sleepless Town, the place where men and women came to forget the expectations society imposed upon them, casting off their stressors like shackles into the streets. The district’s name had, ironically, come from a planned kabuki theatre, yet the town was a place without masks. Without makeup, without performances, instead driven by the unhidden desire that permeated the streets. Pleasure was the name of the game, sex was selling almost as quickly as the liquor of the shelves of bars on every corner. Though the former was an enticing and profitable business, it was the latter that one Delta Ivey was most concerned with. Tonight, in Kabukicho, there was one corner that had only recently reopened, to the glee of many. From Quirked to Quirkless, downtrodden salaryman to ambitious Yakuza, any and all were welcomed with four open arms into her establishment. Tucked away open a street corner, a simple sign indicating its presence. ‘The Fourth Corner’ The corner that completed the square, the one that let the four walls become whole, become home, become the place where the four-armed Delta Ivey collected sorrows and tips, absorbing the lively atmosphere about her. Upon entry into the establishment, one would be quick to notice the quality of the furnishings available, should they have such an eye for it. This wasn’t your typical dive bar, Delta did everything in her power to prevent it from becoming such a thing. It was far from genuinely classy too, however. It was simple in the middle, homely one might say. Further into the bar, its tender and owner could be seen. A striking sight, to say the least. Though she was dressed in a unique, almost Victorian outfit, her attire was merely the icing on the mutated cake. Long hair as fine and soft and colorful as ginger. A discerning amber right eye, an absent an incinerated left. Four arms, deftly mixing drinks and serving patrons. A daquiri here, a whiskey ginger, answering what beers were on tap one minute, listening to a tale of woe the next. Never a dull moment for a bartender in Kabukicho - particularly one who drew a disproportionately large crowd of Quirked individuals. It was a colorful crowd, to say the least, seated at the bar or the plentiful tables and boothes. Some were trying their hand at darts in one corner, others going through a round of billiards in another. A salaryman drinking down his sorrows til the very last drop, a proud working-class man throwing back another swig of cheap beer as he laughed heartily with his coworkers. A group of friends, cheeks all reddened from intoxication, trying to convince their shyest member to talk to the woman he’d been eyeing all night. An impatient and perceptive woman, rolling her eyes and wondering when if he’d get the nerve before she went over herself. The chatter was constant, of a moderate volume, broken by the occasional loud delivery of a punchline or story, or the uproarious laughter that followed. It was lively, but certainly not chaotic. Not yet, at least. Between the games, the liquor and the company, people were finding all sorts of ways to enjoy themselves, with the possibility of chatting or confiding in the bartender always available to them. There was even a small stage - really just a slightly elevated platform of the bar - where a couple of dormant amps and microphone lay. No live music yet, though who was to say if that would change? Even Delta herself knew not how the night would progress. Yet, was dead certain that it would continue to be lively. Even if she couldn’t touch a drop of the nectar she sold while manning the bar, Delta was nonetheless drunk on the atmosphere of the place. The noise, the company, the crowd. The attention and vibrancy, a world of colorful people and colorful stories. This was life in its condensed form, bleeding into the air and intoxicating her. The woman breathed a satisfied sigh, a brief break in the drink orders and gossipy patrons causing her a temporary respite. Her amber eye glanced over at the wall of the bar opposite her, where an oft overlooked facet lay. A photo of a man, an old man, hair greyed but features still smiling and warm. Beneath it, an elaboration. This was Shirou Watanabe, the bar’s prior owner, prior to Delta Ivey. It still hurt, to know he wasn’t here anymore, adding to the atmosphere of this homely place. Yet Delta carried on, for what better remedy to her turmoil than the same addiction she felt towards this lively environment? The sound of the door opening and closing struck her ears, a new customer on a busy night. A new soul, new stories, a new colour to the vivid painting that was her clientele. When they approached the bar, Delta greeted them with that sly and welcoming smile of hers. ”Welcome to The Fourth Corner~”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: This is an open thread, will place a limit if necessary but it's free reign for now. Feel free to come and go, split off somewhere else, chat up the bartender, enjoy yourselves however you wish! This is mostly an experimental thingy to gauge how well these work~ Also, note that here is no restriction on who turns up. Villians, Heroes, vigilantes... Even daring students if they want to risk their image or possess fake IDs~
at most I'm sleeping all these demons away The last couple of days Hanako had not felt entirely well and you could see that in her writing, you could see that in not showing up at work and she actually slept most of her day, which was considering for Hanako's lifestyle.. entirely boring. Which was why she went out in Tokyo, out was a bit of a big word but she wanted to do something. She wanted to see things, instead of only her bedroom. For a second she thought about calling G to ask to hang out at Pink Jackal or anything but it might be better to not do that. She had not felt the need to explain that she felt ill and become an even bigger liability. Which was why Hanako went to shower, dress up and fix her long black hair and find something to write about, somewhere to go to. She wandered around, the fresh air did her well but she was clearly pale and not entirely sure how long her stomach would settle down on the smells that were so strong in Kabuchiko. She should work on some ideas, some blog posts that were worthy before she would get fired as the normal columnist and would have to find a way to get her scandalous job going without people finding out that she had no other job. Her head would be on a roll, she did not want to discuss with Yuuki, Miyako or any of the other colleagues who she was and why she was writing these things, she did not trust them and did not plan to trust them at any given point or whatsoever. She noticed a bar in the corner of her eye and even if she did not feel well enough to drink any strong drinks, she bet she could get something else as well. She checked her phone for the time, but she was not tired, which was mostly because she had slept during most of her day and she simply decided to enter the establishment. There was clearly the sound of people inside, but perhaps not too busy yet so she could enjoy it. Hanako decided to take that guess and walked inside, the bartender clearly watching her. She did not mind, it only looked welcoming and as the woman greeted her, she could only smile back. "Good evening." As she walked to the bar, she would take one of the bar seats, they looked rather comfortable, which surprised Hanako. She did not feel the need to mingle with many people at this point but to see people outside just the digits on her phone was a welcoming change. "Strange question for this hour, but do you still serve coffee?" She smiled, she might just write a better article this night, she had everything she wanted, an establishment with a name she had not heard before which only made it more plausible to write a blog about it. Ideas were welcome anyway. Who knew, maybe some gossip would enter her ears and she could use that as well. MADE BY VEL OF GS
Things had been going well so far, He ventured off campus but he felt the desire for food... Real food. He had been stocking up on cookies, cakes, and candies in his bunker storage. But he lacked delicious meats or fishies. He would have offered some of his valuable tech for delicious fish at this point. As he planned to simply scavenge around some of what a few places were throwing out his snoot was truly snared by a scent of some sort of spicy meat or sauce of some kind as he neared a tavern of some kind if he had to guess. The kinda place hoomans went in and then wobbled out barely standing at times. Occasionally he saw the hoomans with flashy lights take them away too when they had too much trouble walking away as well.
His fears were eventually over taken with a desire for treats though after long enough and he began to take on a risky venture. When the back alley was silent he took to the side of the building using some makeshift scrap to pry off the edge to a vent and climb inside. Moving his way through the ventilation... Almost to fat to do so.
But quickly in a mere few moments he found his place above the kitchen! A hall of food and food delights... It was truly beautiful and a moving sight to say the least. For a moment there seemed after about twenty minutes of waiting a time or two no one was in the back. Each time this happened he'd climb down a bit more and take new places to hide. Grabbing a snack here or a treat there as he worked his way to the meat.
When he got to a area that had sauce and meat chunks that smelled truly delicious he knew he found the treasure he'd been seeking. He began pulling the large cover off the order before him and devouring them quickly as one good. Throat quickly burning though as he found this sauce wasn't sweet at all! It was hotter then human hatred! But still he ate quenching his thirst with a few bottles here and there he found. Stomach growing fat and happy as he drank the hoomans mediocre ale. But the more he drank the more he wanted to eat he found. Until in a dazed state finding his feet weren't moving as fast as they once did he heard someone coming back towards the kitchen again... He acted fast in fear over the looted food and diving under the one he'd just cleaned up putting the lid over himself. Making sure he'd remain hidden. He could only imagine what they might do if they caught him... But at the same time he just felt... oddly happy. As the juices and meats sloshed around in his belly. A light "-Hic-" Passing his lips as he felt the plate he almost fell asleep in under the lid lifted up and being carried.
As the person whoever it was carried Perry to his next resting place turned out to be next to the two woman at the bar. Another patron had made a order but they had no idea what they were truly in for this day! When they lifted the play they'd find a fat belly up possum who'd gorged themselves on wings and beer as fast as they could. Small hands reaching up and moving side to side as he seemed to be enjoying the music playing in the background singing in a key far off from the actual song though.
"Show me the way to go home!~" The customer let out with a yelp as they leaped back hitting the plate lightly and it spun so the Perry laying on his back lightly drunk in the bowl was no facing the two women. While this customer was likely clearly not pleased in the least Perry only had a wide large grin to answer the anger!
"I'm tired and I want to go to bed!~" He sang still rubbing his belly lightly as he tried to lift from the bowl only getting to his feet! Then falling flat on his stomach again crawling lightly across the bar.
"I had a little drink about an hour ago, And it's gone right to my head!~ Everybody!" .... "ZzzzZZZzzZZZzz."
Post by Arvis Belmont on Jan 25, 2019 22:53:15 GMT -4
Life had been in a bit of a downward spiral since Arvis broken ties with both his adopted family the Belmont's and the Japanese car manufacturing family, the Amano's. He didn't have the courage to face either one again after abandoning the first out of fear of his own quirk, and regret for letting things get the way they were with the Amano's before he realized it was to late.
Now, he was alone, with only his resolve in stamping out the criminal scum of the world that was ever on the rise so that others didn't suffer the same fate as himself. However, that resolve could only take him so far, as he knew, deep down, he was young and inexperienced in many things. He barely understood his own quirk. How could he possibly expect himself to exact judgement on what was right and wrong?
This left him in a predicament. A wayward line of stagnation, feeling helpless and lost, much like his childhood of living on the streets. While Arvis thought that taking a job as a driver might take his mind off of things, all it did was continually drag him back to nostalgic days of his days with the Belmont's, practicing repairing vehicles and driving till the sun went down.
Arvis shook his head in a vain attempt to shake the weariness away, shuffling down the street in a chauffeur's uniform. He would normally be wearing either casual wear with his uniform created to handle his quirk, but he had just gotten messaged about the cancellation of his scheduled work. Needless to say, he was frustrated, but couldn't very well do much about it. It gave him free time, and Arvis decided to take the time to visit Kabukicho, something that he rarely did, especially considering his five years living in Japan.
Parking far enough away where he felt it was safe to leave the vehicle, he was not foolish enough to bring it to Kabukicho, even with as many eyes that could possibly notice a car theft. Kabukicho wasn't exactly known for it's...safety, especially with as many easy targets in the form of drunks and those high of life's pleasures.
Wandering the brightly lit district, Arvis craned his neck as he scanned the area, letting his long blond hair catch in the cold breeze. He wasn't really sure what he was looking for, or if there was anything that would even take his mind off of the seclusion he felt as a independent worker with all bridges burned.
However, something made Arvis halt his pace as he tilted his head towards a simple sign. "The Fourth Corner."
The twenty one year old read aloud in a hushed tone to himself in English. There was an allure to the building with Arvis couldn't put his finger on, but the western style to it drew the American's attention, being something that wasn't especially common around Japan. Taking another look around, Arvis took a breath a pushed himself to entering the building.
A lively bar hit his sight. Not packed, not dead. Just the right amount of people to keep the bar running, and the patrons entertained. Though bars were not something he typically frequented, nor was he really knowledgeable about liquor of any real sort, the atmosphere was welcoming and it let him drop his guarded shell that shielded himself from others, if only slightly.
As Arvis took in the sights, he couldn't help but notice the...display going on at the bar counter. Though he didn't catch the full story, he had witnessed what seemed to be a show in itself. Something about a possum having been stowed away on someones dish, though the patron's reaction was not one of pleasantry. It was obvious to the vigilante in training that this wasn't a simple prank or game, and the man was very much agitated by the matter.
"Things might escalate." Arvis thought to himself as he decided to step up towards the flustered man. Before he started to fully blow his lid, Arvis rose his voice to be heard by the patron.
"Is there a problem?" He asked simply, the man spinning around, clearly already somewhat drunk from before the meal had arrived.
"Yesh there issa problem! That rat ate my food! Where are the standards aroun' here? Huh?!" The alcohol heavy on his breath as Arvis cleared his throat and stifled any unnecessary comments towards the drunkard.
"You mean the quirker? Seems to me to be a simple accident." Arvis gestured towards the possum who sung to itself in tipsiness.
The man squinted an eye, seemingly lost already. "Wah? Qoork?"
Arvis sighed and repeated. "When is the last time you saw a possum singing along to a song? It obviously has a quirk, and last I checked, that makes it a customer like you and I. So lay off the hostility, will ya?"
The vigilante spoke calmly, trying to defuse the situation. The drunk patron seemed to have no interest though, and flung his hands in the air in disgust.
"Wha'ever! You can keep your infesterred bar to yorself. I don need thhiss kinna serviss!" The man slurred out in a huff before spinning around and nearly falling straight on his face. Catching himself, he stumbled his way towards the door and then out onto the night streets.
"Gimme a break." Said out loud at the sight , not thinking where he was before speaking. As his senses returned to him, Arvis turned his his eyes back towards the bar tender, only just now noticing her four arms. Slightly embarrassed, Arvis tilted his down slightly and averted eye contact. "Sorry for that. People like that just get to me personally. I'll mind my own business from here own. Pardon my intrusion."
Arvis excused himself, still not fully comfortable with quirks in general, not to mention his display. He didn't want to draw more attention than he already had, and made his way over towards one of the billiard tables with a small group already occupying it. "May I join you all?"
The group of three looked among each other, partly confused, but once Arvis revealed a sum of cash from his pocket, placing it upon the table, their hesitation quickly faded and grins grew upon their face. "Playing for keeps? Now we are talking! Grab a stick and let's go!" The largest of the three proudly declared as he pumped a fist excitedly, the other two eager at his jovial declaration.
Arvis gave a small nod and a slight chuckle as he took up one of the pool cues. Perhaps a game could lessen his anxiety. Here is hoping.
sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
It was, thus far, a relatively peaceful night in The Fourth Corner. Alcohol danced around the tables, people laughed with merriment and relief, and without any broken hearts or bodies (yet). Most bartenders would be perfectly content with this seemingly ideal set of circumstances, but Delta was starting to grow a bit restless with it all. The night was almosttoo mundane. The establishment's atmosphere was enough for the four-armed woman to get drunk on, but an addict appreciated a bit of variety to their kicks. Something for her to sink her teeth into, fascination and intrigue... The kind of thing that only the most interesting of patrons could provide, and provide they would, with the next lot of arrivals into the fine building. A woman strode in. With flowing hair black like the night and a certain elegance and composure to her form. Delta's discerning amber eye latched onto the woman, making a few assumptions of her right off the bat. It was quite clear, from the bartender's point of view, what kind of patron this woman was. Well-put-together, clean, unsullied by any sort of mutation or scar or ink. Alone and dignified. This was a working woman, and not the kind one usually found in Kabukicho. A salarywoman, perhaps? Only a sincere questioning could tell. "A good evening to you too, Miss~" The four-armed woman returned the greeting, passing off a pint to a grateful customer before her entire attention was taken by the raven-haired woman. If her request came as any surprise, it certainly didn't show on Delta's face. Truthfully, though it was uncommon it wasn't particularly rare for an individual to seek a softer drink from the bar. There were some very hard working people in Kabukicho, sometimes they just wanted a nice environment to replenish or prepare for their work. Without any kind of evident surprise, Delta nodded her head, resting her lower hands on the counter as her upper arms took some empty glasses. "We have a coffee machine in the kitchen~" The amber-eyed woman proclaimed in an amicable tone. "How do you take it? I don't suppose with any of our spirits, as much as I recommend them~" A bemused chuckle escaped her lips, before hearing whatever Hanako's order was. With deft steps, Delta stepped aside to the edge of her side of the bar, beside which a small counter connected to the kitchen was. With Hanako's order echoed in, Delta also took the opportunity to grab one of the snacks another had ordered. Some chicken wings, according to the ticket. At these hours, food was rarely ordered, with a number of patrons saving their belly for more booze. This was an exception, so Delta took the lone plate, covered with a small lid - she did so love the grand reveal - and promptly stepped over, passing by Hanako. "Your coffee will be ready in a moment, dear~" The amber-eyed woman said aside before placing the wings before their intoxicated patron. Hopefully he didn't eat himself sick with all the alcohol already in him. "Here you are, s-"Delta had lifted the lid, only for it to fall out of her hands as her eye widened at the sight before her. She bit her tongue to prevent a yelp, but her initial surprise was evident. A talking fucking possum. At least she thought it was a possum, this was her first time seeing one in person. "What in the...?" Good God, how had that bugger gotten there!? The patron the dish was handed to seemed equally surprised, and several degrees more outraged. What manner of magic or science was this? A talking animal, and more importantly... One that hadn't paid for the sustenance he'd acquired! Delta's experience quickly kicked in, shifting her perspective to a more pressing matter. That patron wasn't going to take kindly to this... Her lower hands were already instinctively lowering under the counter, before an unexpected arrival shifted the course of things. The bartender's eye set on him, her head tilting lightly in intrigue. Who was this dashing fellow? He was foreign. That much was obvious at a glance. He was also quite firm, managing to handle the drunken patron while Delta remained quiet and gave an apologetic look to Hanako. Heaven forbid she drive off a new customer. The possum was not a pest, but a Quirker, it seemed. Thus, there was even more reason for him to owe some pay to the bar for his binging! Delta crossed both pairs of arms, remaining silent on the fact that the possum hadn't paid his dues as the drunken patron left. Well, one customer gone, but another, much more interesting man was now standing before them. Delta smiled curiously at him. "No need to apologise, dear, you have my thanks for helping with that... Unruly man. I should have cut him off earlier." Delta raised one of her four arms to tip her hat with a slight chuckle. How curious this traveler was, and how interested she was in speaking to him further... Ideas arose in her mind. "If you want a drink, I'll give you one on the house, for your troubles~" The bartender hummed in a tempting tone as he went off to enjoy some billiards. Now, to handle her other two interesting patrons. "Now, you should thank him too, Mister Possum. After you pay for those drinks and wings... Not that see a wallet on your persons." Delta said with a cold tone as she glared down with her amber eye, giving a mischevious and toothy grin as she leaned down one arm on the counter to prevent the possum from going anywhere until this strange quirker had paid up. Next, the unfortunate witness. "I am terribly sorry for the interruption, dear. Allow me to make up for it however you wish." Customer service always came first. Delta pressed her upper two palms together in an expression of peacemaking and apology, before speaking on. If she could engage this customer despite the chaos, she might yet keep her. "Do not even feel obligated to pay fully for that coffee. Though, speaking of which, may you sate my curiosity, Miss...?" A pause, allow for her to give her name, if she wished. "Ordering such a kick at this hour, you must be working hard on something, late into the night, no?" Get her to talk about her problems, her work, and Delta might be able to use her other skills as a bartender to get her to stay invested. One thing had now become certain. Delta's wishes for a more interesting night had not gone unanswered.
at most I'm sleeping all these demons away She was thinking of a more surprised reaction when she ordered a coffee at this hour, but the woman behind the bar knew how to keep her persona, which was what Hanako instantly liked about her. She thought for a few seconds because with a spirit did sound very tastier but remembering how she felt the last couple of days and decline it and said she took it black, so without anything extra and she would climb on one of the bar chairs there. She might come here another time and try that out because at this point she did have to remind herself why she was here. She wanted to find something to write about and make it interesting and worthwhile. "Thank you," She said when the woman told her that her coffee would be with her soon. She followed Delta with her ice blue eyes, wondering if it would be okay to write about the establishment and the woman and she was intriguing and kind for the first few minutes that Hanako met her of course. She went to sit up straighter when she looked at the possum. She had no idea what kind of animal it was, but it was not a rat, that was sure, right? And it hiccuped and walked out of the bowl and talked to them. It was singing too and something about drinking, was that possum drunk? She looked up at the customer who seemed to yelp and baffled, heads up the woman of the bar had not yelped, applause for her. Hanako had only stared with big eyes but tried to find sassy words to shoot at the man who ordered chicken wings. This could be bad, but she found it more hilarious than that she would blame the bar for it. She turned her head when a handsome young man walked in and stepped in to shush the customer before she could. Which was a lot better, she wasn't as impressive with her small posture and her words were missing in her mind now as well. He was already drunk too, good he missed that chicken wings, she did not feel bad about that. She did not mind people who were drunk in the first instance but making loud complains was something she disliked. "I am glad you stepped in, it would be a shame if a man like that would turn the fun to his hand." Hanako chipped in after Delta spoke to the man who saved the evening. She actually hoped that the Possum would say more instead of just snoozing over there. "Hanako," She said when Delta asked for her name without the words and she smiled with an amusing smile. "Even if a discount sounds nice, I don't need it, the evening has been highly amusing, I hope you don't get trouble out of it though. As for why I need coffee, I am a blogger and I have nothing before the deadline of tomorrow. I have a night of adventures hopefully waiting for me to write about." She looked shortly at the possum, "Maybe it already started." MADE BY VEL OF GS
He had torn from his briefly slumber snoring and burping lightly as well as what sounded like a tiny fart leaving his little body as well. Someone was mad but his boozy head was still all a flutter as he wiggle and tilted before finally flopping out of the bowl on his belly only catching a good some but not all of what was being said around if not too him as well. He turned towards the man he was told to thank for helping him. To which he rather comically leaned forward in a rather proper type of bow. Almost like a gentlemanly way of times long past.
But to his surprise a hand had come down or more so a arm of a lady who woooo had allot of them that was for sure. But he hadn't really seemed to catch what she said. Ignoring some of it seemed as he reached out placing his hands on the arm and then lifting one of his hind feet he was standing on then the other as his small rear shook lightly behind with each step as it became clear a few moments later he was presumably dancing with her at least in his mind.
"What's the use of worrying?" Moving side to side as a small fuzzy bum wiggled to the tune in the background. "It never was worth whiiiiiiile" Trying to drunkenly move to her hand if not stipped and lift it up and dance with it as if it was another small dancer. "So , Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag, And smile, smile, smile." He'd continue to do all of this reaching down as he almost fumbled back though in his fun pulling out surprisingly a small few bills stashed into his pouch. Cash money was never that much use to him but if she wanted what did he care! Tonight the world was bright!... and things were in threes and fours...
When he dropped the bills not sure what exactly it equaled out to in hooman he'd seemed to begin doing the possum equivalent to the running man right on the bar between them sliding backwards as he did in a surprisingly loose and well maintained set of motions. He'd turn towards the pretty woman who was spoken to be a blogger! His curiosity caused him to turn in his interested notion but slipped falling flat on his belly as he tripped over a ash tray not far off. Rubbing his little lower knee as he lifted himself back up seeming to limp lightly but continueing to dance as now he watched both the lades and new gentlemen around them all.
While Arvis had felt like he had been intrusive and disruptive to the scene, the two woman and...possum, were understanding and kind in their response. He supposed that, with how drunk that customer was, somebody had to step in, and it just happened to be him. Regardless of whether it was right or not though, he still felt bad about it (And still quite nervous around mutations and quirks in general), which is why he had separated himself from the small group at the bar.
As the billiard game got started up though, Arvis kept his mind and eyes on the group. He listened to what they said, though with all the distance and noise of the bar, it was difficult to make out. Maybe he should have stayed, just to see where things went. Arvis was, however, just as surprised as likely everyone else there when the possum with the quirk that Arvis had defended earlier ended up actually revealing some various bills of cash. Puzzled, the vigilante began wondering if perhaps the possums quirk was more than what he initially assumed.
'Maybe advanced intelligence? I thought it was an advanced language quirk.' There was something about the possum which he was drawn to, which he only figured was because of his own animal based quirk. The two were similar, but more reflections of one another. While one carried the beast inside himself, remaining human at his core, this possum acted and lived as an animal, but adapted to it's quirk to the point of picking up on human characteristics and actions. Very interesting-
His thoughts trailed off as he cupped his chin in wonder, but was promptly brought back to ground level as one of the billiard players called out to him. "Hey, wake up!" he barked, though not angrily. Arvis jumped ever slightly, to which the group of three got a chuckle out of. Arvis spun around, focusing on the game instead. As the rounds passed, Arvis scanned the bar for interesting happenings, but realized mid-way through that...there wasn't much point. The Fourth Corner, despite being a quirk based bar, was still a bar none the less. Quirks or no quirks, people still sought out the comfort and sanctuary that bars brought. Something that very few places could match. In an odd was, bars for many people were home away from home.
Everyone had different origins and lives, but were all brought together under one roof for one reason or another. Whether it be to have somebody to listen to their woes, or to rally up a conversation with friends about tales from the past. Their is a reason taverns have existed as long as they have, despite being less 'useful' then something like a clinic.
In between lined up shots and watching the patrons of the bar mingle and chat, Arvis caught sight of something that peaked his interest. A solitary picture, which stood out for the lack of others among the bar, featuring a figure of some kind. The bar owner? Or maybe an investor of some kind. Maybe even a loyal customer. There was many things the person in the photograph could have been, but Arvis wouldn't be able to just know without more information.
Thinking on the subject, Arvis took a shot to try and sink two for one, but ended up slipping slightly on his aim, landing his ball in the hole. With a frown, Arvis sighed and the group jovially laughed to one another.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm rusty. It has been a while." Arvis announced to the group, which got a shrug out of one of the men. "Why put money on the line?" He asked, Arvis shoving a hand in his pocket.
"I thought it would make things more lively. Would I be wrong?" Arvis responded back, to which the large fellow slapped the billiard table. "Aw heck no. Nothing like a bit of risk reward to get the night going I say." The group laughed once again, with Arvis setting his pool cue aside.
"You all mind if I break away for a bit? Figured I would get a drink." The group all looked at one another before the smallest of the three spoke up. "Better not be ditching us, gaijin." His choice on words got the large billiards player to sock him in the arm, a wide grin plastered on his face. "Lay off the guy. Learn some manners. I'm sure he gets enough of that from people that actually mean it."
Arvis pardoned himself, not taking anything they said very seriously and returned to the bar.
"Actually, I think I might take you up on that offer." Arvis said as he approached the counter, adjusting the troublesome cuffs of his suit. "About the drink, that is." He looked down at the tipsy, dancing possum and shook his head slightly, not sure what to think of the animal. Couldn't say that it didn't keep things interesting.
Taking a seat, he ran a gloved hand through his hair and tried to think of what to say exactly. This was pretty embarrassing, now that he thought about it.
"Thing is though...I haven't really drank before." Arvis finally forced out in a mutter, a small, nervous smile crept on his face. "Well, nothing of consequence at least. Maybe a sip here or there, but that was mostly jokes from parents. You know what I mean?"
Arvis sighed again, not sure why he was so rigid at the moment. It was probably the amount of people, being that, generally, he has been on his own most of his life. Not that he minded company, it was just...
"In terms of straight up drinking though, I don't have a clue. Which is odd, I know. Most would be all over drinking the minute they hit legal drinking age. I just...never found the time." Arvis looked up from his hands before sitting up straighter and nodding his head.
"So I accept your judgement and wisdom on the matter, Miss barista. You know the subject matter far more then I, and can make the right selection. I am sure of it."
sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Delta Ivey was quite adept at multitasking. One look at her was enough to surmise that much, what with her abundant appendages! The amber eyed woman had an excess of limbs, and she knew how to use them. Learning to do so had left with her quite the aptitude for spinning multiple plates at once, as she did almost every night in this bar of hers. Tonight, however, three plates stood out above all the others, and Delta made sure to keep her attention divided between them. The dark haired working woman whose black coffee was now being brewed in the connected kitchen, the furry Quirker who was intent on dancing the night away, and the handsome young blonde who was trying his hands at billiards. Firstly, Delta's attention was aimed at the dark-haired woman, a potential customer that she didn't want to lose thanks to the possum fiasco. However, once the woman - who gave her name as Hanako - admitted that Delta was right, the bartender ended up showing her first sign of surprise that night. Or, rather, intrigue, as brow raised toward the other woman. Not only was this woman not bothered by the possum, but she was actually entertained by it! To the point of declining the discount that Delta had offered! Furthermore, Hanako's profession was that of a blogger, one who was in need of adventure... Who implied finding that adventure in the Fourth Corner. The wide, toothy grin Delta gave said one thing. Jackpot. This wasn't just a customer now, this was a potential asset in promoting her bar, one who she'd already unintentionally ended up entertaining. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Hanako-san~ I'm Delta, or Miss Ivey, or Mama-san, or whatever you'd prefer to call me, I'm not fussed~" Delta greeted, moving one of her lower arms in a bow-like motion. Hanako's revelation had also made the possum many times more useful to the bartender, now that instead of nuisance, he was being viewed as some form of entertainment! Delta glanced over at him, still sluggishly crawling along, before turning back to Hanako. "Well well, as the owner of this establishment, I do promise to do my utmost in making your night 'adventurous', dear~ It's the least I can do for some free advertising!" Delta declared with a hearty grin and chuckle, indicating with a wave of her hand that she was merely making a jest. In reality, it was only half a joke, and the bartender was actually already considering the implications of free promotion that a positive blog might give! "Jokes aside, I'm happy to provide you with whatever you'd like to know about The Fourth Corner~ Though, as for information on our furry little friend here..."The possum, whose name was yet unknown, if he even had one, was still drunkenly dancing and jiving about, even grabbing Delta's hand for his dance partner. The bartender, in the interest of entertaining her patrons, decided to go along with it, letting her hand be danced with as Perry lead the waltz, and Delta chuckled bemusedly to herself. "I'm afraid he's as much a mystery to me. Then again, we get plenty of colorful people in this establishment, so I shouldn't be too surprised." Delta said, hoping to lead on Hanako even further into writing about this place. Perry's antics were starting to draw the attention of other patrons too, who were watching or laughing or drunkenly clapping along to the possum's dancing. He was, evidently, quite the little show. Now, if only he could actually pay for his own drinks... As if on cue, the possum then proceeded to withdraw some bills from his... Pouch? Delta wasn't clear on the anatomy, but it was payment nonetheless, which she quickly plucked with a free hand, putting it in the register while smiling down at the now forgiven creature. "Well, there's your outstanding debts paid, my furry friend~ Now, you may dance and sing to your heart's content~" He was quite the little entertainer, dancing around in his intoxicated state, and Delta had no problem encouraging him to continue! After all, if it kept the interest of this blogger, it was definitely a useful little performance. "Maybe I should hire him... He'd be quite the act, no?" Delta joked aside to the raven-haired patron. This night was getting more interesting by the moment, and only threatened to get more fun, as the handsome blonde lad from before finally approached the bar again, ready for the promised drink for his earlier help. "Ah, welcome back, dear~" Delta hummed lightly. A moment after, a small bell rang nearby, upon the connected kitchen counter, where Hanako's coffee was now set. Keeping her attention open to Hanako, but focused on Arvis, Delta grabbed the plate and placed it before the working woman, nodding aside to her. "You can pay once you've finished, Miss Hanako"Now, back to the matter at hand. Arvis was much more timid than he'd seemed before, or rather, reserved. Delta soon learned the reason why, as he admitted to being entirely new to the idea of proper drinking! "Oho~ So you're here to pop your cherry then~" Delta joked in a lightly teasing tone. With such a handsome young lad before her acting so adorably awkward, how couldn't she take the opportunity? Though, as he explained furhter, Delta did understand his reasons. Not all people were so blessed with the chance to hit the bottle at the first opportunity they got. "Ah, it's understandable~ Just leave it to me to introduce you to this world, then." Delta uttered once he'd finished speaking, stepping back a moment to glance over her collection of liquors. "Firstly, however, my name is not 'Miss Barista', nor is it my profession~ You can call me Delta, or Miss Ivey, or - as the Japanese do - Mama-san. The choice is yours~" The bartender hummed as she curated the bottles before her, before her lone amber eye settled on one. No use easing into something like this, he may as well see what he'd been missing out on! "Hard and classic~" Delta mused as she grabbed a bottle of amber liquid from her shelves. A bottle of 12 year aged Yamazaki single-malt whiskey. A personal favourite of hers. As the four-armed woman moved back to the counter, her many limbs put on quite the display as she prepared the drink. One held the bottle, another opened it. A third arm grabbed a drinking glass, a fourth grabbed some tongs and with them, some ice. Her first arm poured into the glass, before her fourth added the ice. Personally, she would have used whiskey stones, but Arvis was likely less fussed about the drink being potentially watered down a little. Delta set the drink, filled only about two shots full, in front of Arvis, its soft and sweet aroma lifting into the air, hints of honey present of one paid close attention. "Enjoy~ Let me know if it's to your liking~" Delta said in a playful tone. Perhaps his tastes wouldn't match hers, but as far as she thought, it was as good a place as any to discovering how he preferred his drinks. Between Hanako, the possum, and now this young man, Delta had quite the array of guests to entertain, and with which to entertain herself!
at most I'm sleeping all these demons away It wasn't if her unknown or unnamed illness was suddenly over but lounging about on the bed all day had made her restless, which was exactly what made her get to the bar. However, it was good that she could sit down and she felt that if she tried to be more enthusiastic about everything, she would get a wave of nausea over her again and she would not be the pleasant company that she wished to become now or already be. It was nice to be appreciated, Delta seemed to be glad that she was here unless she misinterpreted the grin that the woman was giving, but she did not mind, if only they knew her real alias, but she obviously did not intend to give that as she never had done. "Thank you very much, Delta." With the idea that the possum was a mystery, she wondered about it next, so everyone was welcome. "With the strange tides at the moment, I assume you serve everyone, never had a problematic brawl with the you-know quirkers and none quirker problem? I surely hope not." She wasn't fishing if Delta was for or against the idea, she was only wondering how safe things like that went. It reminded her of Pink Jackal and that it had been a while since she had seen Macabre. She just wanted to know if the safe places worked if people hopped into a place like this and forgot the prejudice that they thought about before. Her eyes shifted to the possum when he paid, interesting he seemed to have the ability to think and talk like a human and thus understand the idea of payment. She could not see the folded bills so she had no idea if he paid the right amount, too much or too less but he seemed to grab the idea of society. She should be careful if she was about to write about the possum to make sure to establish that he wasn't vermin, it might be best to leave out he ate someone else's chicken wings. She leaned on her left hand and looked at the possum to see what more songs and dances he would perform, he seemed to come to her and fall over the ashtray and she felt sorry for it, "Did you hurt yourself?" She asked the little possum, it was, of course, easy to miss an ashtray when you were her size, and she was small for a human but for a possum, it must be quite an obstacle, especially when you had enough beer. "Maybe you should, gives people a reason to talk to each other and connect, as well as to return to see him." She looked at Delta and grinned, it was a funny idea and she wondered if the possum would think the same, how did he think? While her attention was taken away by the possum and the arrival of her coffee, she did listen to the guy who returned. She wished she could drink as well but with feeling so bad lately, it would not be smart. She still believed it was just something she ate but the nausea was continuing for far too long. She took the cup of coffee in her hands to warm up still, probably something to do with the flu or anything she had. She smelled the coffee, it did smell nice but a wave of nausea hit her and she put the cup back on the saucer and tried to pretend that she had just a sip and was doing something else completely, now looking at the blond young man and Delta and see what drink he would try. Yet in her mind she was trying to understand why she could not even drink coffee. MADE BY VEL OF GS
He chuckled lightly to himself as small hiccups and hics left his small mouth and wiggling snoot as he held two of the fingers in his paws waltzing and dancing lightly upon the bar with the friendly bartenders hand. In his current state he himself couldn't have realized how audacious and ridiculous such a scene must have actually looked like to anyone else looking in. But in the moment he just seemed to smile and cheer as his little feet popped around and his tail wiggling from side to side as he got his boogy on.
He looked up at the woman and the bartender as well as the new person who'd wondered up handling the meaner human from earlier. shaking his body after his light tumble and a puff or two of ash would shake from his fur as he tried to get the ashes out rubbing his little knee again and shaking his leg as if trying to work out a small kink where he'd taken a tumble. But as he tried to look like he was about to speak to the pretty lady at the bar his noise wiggled... Then wiggled again. An after a brief couple moments. "Achoooo" He'd let out a rumbly sneeze falling back on his butt sitting on the bar for a moment. Reaching around and rubbing his butt and lower back for a moment as he sat there in a dizzy haze.
"Nah Nah Nah! I'm okay! I'm Perry P -hic- Possum! I'm the toughest possum around and nothing hurts me!" He'd proclaim proudly pointing his hand to the sky! Then looking like he was about to hiccup but instead rushing over quickly staggering to his feet over to the now emptied ash tray from his tumble and with a heavy urk vomited lightly inside it. His small stomach size only able to about half full it after a few quick gags. Fumbling back as he struggled after to stay on his feet. Looking a little sick as he looked about to fall again when suddenly!
He was leaning against a bottle that must have still had something in it as it was holding him up and instead of falling his mouth opened and. - "Almost heaven.~ West Virgininas.~ Blue ridge mountains.~" Humming and snapping his little hands as he begin singing at a song that came up when he tried to one day find info about where his kind were actually from and stumbled upon it along the way. "Shenandoah River!~ Life is old there, Older then the trees! Younger thank the mountains growin like a breeze!" Fumbling back for a moment nearly tumbling clean off the bar but wondering back towards the center as he continued rather loudly... and a little off key.
"Country roooooads! Take me hooooooome! To the plaaaaace! I belooooooong!" Holding his hands to the sky wiggling from side to side in front of Hanako. Looking up at her with dizzy eyes and a large possum grin.
As the bartender toyed with Arvis with a light joke, he gave a sheepish chuckle and ruffled his long strands of hair. "Haha, uh, yeah. I guess you could say that...in a way. Figured now might be a better time than any, since I seem to be in good company."
Despite the odd circumstances when he first entered the bar, it felt oddly safe, and homely in a way. It reminded Arvis briefly of his childhood with the man he looked up to so much, Leon, and the way everything seemed to have a feeling of togetherness, even though they lived in poverty.
However, those nostalgic memories were wiped away when the bartender corrected him on a false title Arvis had given to the woman.
Arvis gave a puzzled expression with a raised brow when the bartender recited her name, only making him more confused as she explained that she wasn't a 'barista', which he had unknowingly called her prior. After a moment of being stunned, searching his mind for a response, Arvis eventually widened his eyes and shook his head regretfully.
"My pardons. Japanese isn't my native tongue-" He rose a hand to brush a lock of his naturally blonde hair with a nervous smile. "In case that wasn't fairly obvious. I must have lost something in translation. I apologize for the insult to you, uh...Miss Ivey." He felt it was the most comfortable name she had given him, being that he was taught pretty heavily by the Belmont's in regards to respecting those above you. Maybe at some point, if he became a regular, he might call her Delta, but this would be suitable for now.
With an sincere bow, he affixed himself to finally take a seat, because standing at the counter the whole time might seem rude or at the very least, impatient. Arvis found himself transfixed on delta when she fluidly concocted what would soon be his given alcoholic drink. Though there was an amount of nerves set in him, he was more fascinated with the bartenders naturally flowing arms. It made sense, she likely has had them most of her life, but Arvis couldn't help but feel a little jealous of anyone that was as adaptive to their quirk as they were, being that he barely grasped his own in the past few years he has had it.
Arvis would be lying if he had said he knew what in the world 'hard and classic' meant in regards to alcohol, but if Delta seemed to approve of the selection, he had no real reason to doubt the judgement or ponder the meaning. In the moments of awaiting the drink, Arvis sat squarely in the seat with an almost statue like posture, stiff and rigid. He wasn't one to often be around others, and most of the ones he was with had groomed him to be a 'respectable' figure, a far cry from his street urchin life style of days in the past.
Looking over towards the woman whom he met briefly during the earlier debacle with the drunken patron, he gave a small but anxious smile towards her in a off-handed attempt to seem a tad social. The possum, now known to him as being called Perry apparently, that had drawn so much attention all around still sung and danced in his drunken haze, which both amused Arvis with it's silliness from the thought alone, but also made him even more worried just what he should be expecting from the alcohol he would soon be drinking.
Without much time passing, a drink was set forward in front of Arvis, with a smaller amount than Arvis had expected. Perhaps it was because different drinks were meant to be served in different amounts? He ran through his mind of all the draft house beer adds that constantly advertised a pitcher full, froth overflowing the glass. It caught him slightly off guard to see this instead, but perhaps this was a blessing in disguise!
Not only did it mean he had a sample size of something new to experience, but it also might have meant that it was a higher class drink, and would possibly taste even better. The thought eased on his mind slightly, but when he found himself ready to actually take the dive of drinking it, Arvis instead found himself simply staring at the liquid in the glass in front of him.
The long pause felt like it dragged for an eternity for the vigilante before he finally lifted a hand to take the offered drink in his hand. Arvis continued to hesitate as he lifted it closer to his face, smelling the potent drink. He couldn't quite explain how it smelled, which only unnerved him more. It was an almost bitter, yet also sweet smell? Earthy?
His mind reeled with thoughts, but eventually, something dawned on him that drove away most of the worry. If the possum, Perry, had drank all that alcohol by himself, surely there wasn't anything to be concerned about! With how much people rave about drinking, there must be good reason.
Taking a breath, Arvis wasn't aware of the proper procedures or specifics of drinkings, so he did the only thing he assumed he was supposed to do. "Well, uh, cheers I guess?" Arvis said with another nervous chuckle before knocking back the entire glass down his throat.
Almost instantly, the young male wretched and gagged, only barely catching himself from not losing balance as he leaned forward in shock, coughing and hacking.
Nope! No! What was this?! The previous scents that lingered from before were all in full force, but the most apparent reaction was his body suddenly being slammed with what Arvis only assumed was the actual alcoholic part of the drink. People legitimately like this!?
Maybe it was just the beast that lurked somewhere within him, but everything about this was far from pleasant. However, before Arvis could think further on what he had just done, he forced his head up to look at Delta with a squinted, watery eye and gave a grimacing smile.
"Ah, yep, I could definitely go for more of that." He choked out, not wanting to upset Delta's establishment or profession. "That was some potent stuff. I can understand why you like it."
Through coughs and recovery, Arvis forced a grin trough his fairly obvious denial. Why. Just...why.
sometimes you want to go WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
The pleasantly engaging raven-haired woman was quite unique among Delta's guests, if only for her normal she seemed on the outset. The amber-eyed woman would have guessed that this normalcy that seemed to permeate the woman was perhaps why she was so intrigued by the colorful Fourth Corner, even asking about its clientele in such a casual tone. The four-armed bartender gave a light sigh at the question about fights breaking out, answering the question before she even spoke. "Strange tides are often even rougher with the disinhibiting effects of alcohol, I'm afraid. I've seen a small handful of fights, but most people are considerate enough to take it elsewhere and not disturb the other clients. Those less considerate need to be dissuaded a bit more forcefully. It's not too bad a problem, honestly, just a risk that comes with the job." Delta explained with a degree of nonchalance. "That being said, they certainly aren't common. We don't exactly get many bigoted clientele, thanks to, well..." With a simple outward gesture of all four arms, it became clear what Delta was saying about herself. "Even if such racists came here, my customers feel safe in their numbers. The vast majority of my clients aren't concerned with such prejudice, Quirkless or Quirked. They just want to unwind after a long day, under a roof and four corners, a home~" Her toothy grin was indicating just how much she'd rehearsed that line. As cheesy as it was, it held great truth to her, and was evident with just how homely the atmosphere was. This was a bastion, a safe haven, and even if it came under threat, the people there were bound to defend it like the second home it was. A home with a certain degree of entertainment, thanks to one furry client. Delta chuckled at Hanako's suggestion, and just how serious it was. "You raise some very fine points, Miss Hanako. I wonder how I'll pay him..." Was she to supply this animal with food for his services? Or would money suffice? The question was an amusing one, just like everything else relating to this possum. Or, well, 'Perry Possum', as he proclaimed himself. It was good to have a name to the furry face that was being oh so cute and entertaining for Delta's establishment. Well, except for the whole vomiting into the ashtray part, which was a bit less cute, admittedly. Not that Delta wasn't used to overdrinking clients, so she quickly took the ashtray and handed it back for disposal before it started to smell. "Oh dear, I think we might need to take you home soon, Mr. Possum..." It was a bit too late to just cut him off, after all. However, in spite of his fall and inebriation, he suddenly opened his mouth open, this time not to let out some more of his meal, but instead a wondrous classic! It wasn't a finessed performance, but the song of choice had a particular quality to it. A timeless and homely feel that made everyone else want to sing along, and some scattered drunken voices would join the possum from the bar, applauding at his finish to the old-school performance. Delta grinned widely as Perry entertained Hanako, this Possum was quite the attraction. It also let Hanako remain attended to while Delta turned her attention to another client. The handsome young Arvis was in need of some experience, and Delta was happy to oblige. His flustered response to getting the name wrong earned a dismissive wave from one of Delta's hands as she shook her head lightly. "Oh, it's no insult at all, my dear~ You're new to this, after all, and I'm a patient teacher." The woman uttered with a chuckle. In spite of his stoic showing before, he was rather adorably conscious around the four-armed bartender, who was - unfortunately for him - always one to pounce on the opportunity to tease. "Besides, you've already shown plenty of courtesy~" The woman added, wanting to dispell any notions that she might be offended. As she prepared her questionable choice of drink, Delta took note of the intriguing young man He was even tenser than the working woman with a deadline sat near him. Perhaps tense wasn't the right evaluation. Stoic, more like. A young man who was comfortable in whatever chains still bound him... Or just unable to yet break free of them. That was just what Delta presumed with her discerning amber eye. Once the drink was served, Delta had an urge to pour herself a shot, but was far too professional for such a thing. Perhaps later. With the liquor presented before Arvis, he certainly took his time, which was what one might expect of a man who'd never drunken before... Now being presented with fairly hard liquor. Of course, Delta knew he likely wouldn't quite be ready for it, but it was her way of teaching him the kick of the substance. A peek at the pinnacle. What a peek it was. "Cheers~" Delta hummed, before he threw back the drink... And almost immediately threw it back out. Maybe she should have told him to pace himself. The woman suppressed a chuckle, knowing it rude to laugh at his strife, but once he put on such a brave face even though he looked about to cry, Delta couldn't help but tease him a smidge more. "Ah, I'll get you another shot right away then~" The four-armed woman proclaimed, taking his glass and looking ready to pour another shot, before letting out a small chuckle. "Just kidding~ Don't be afraid to be honest with myself, dear, it's my job to serve the clientele. Here, an apology for that bad first impression." Delta stowed the whiskey back away, before reaching down into the refrigerated drinks beneath her and pulling out a simple, fairly light, apple cider. "Hopefully this will be more to your liking. No more freebies, however~" This was, at least she hoped, going to go a bit more smoothly. Compared to beer or wine or spirits, ciders had a much more universal appeal, in her experience. The more familiar and sweeter tastes, coupled with a generally lower percentage of alcohol, meant it was a good starter. A light one, such as the one Delta had presented, tasted hardly any different to an apple-flavored soda. Speaking of drunks not being to her customer's likings, Delta glanced over at Hanako's coffee, noticing how untouched it was. "The coffee to your liking, dear?" Delta asked nonchalantly. She wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't, given the lack of a professional barista, but it was better to know if it that was the case.
at most I'm sleeping all these demons away She did not miss the sign, in a heartbeat she might understand already what Delta meant without saying it. It was strange times and people all seem to have an opinion about it without overthinking or thinking about others, it was definitely worth a sigh. She nodded when the barista explained and was actually rather satisfied to hear it, maybe it was another woven web but she was familiar with that. It did sound like Pink Jackal so it was not unbelievable. The gesture she made, made Hanako nod, "I actually like that idea a lot." She smiled, it was clear that people who stepped into the bar knew what to expect and with that expect to shut their cakeholes in case they wanted to have some bigoted problem. Interesting, so there were still people with brain cells among them. She liked how the woman was casual now but the line meant that she had thought about it before, precaution, when it was not necessary, was a good thing. Hanako smiled back at the woman and turned her attention back to the possum, asking if he was okay now that he fell, thinking it must have hurt. She herself fell a lot of times, good she wasn't drunk, she might fall of this bar stool. "It's nice to meet you mister Possum." It was very funny to hear the name and the toughest possum in the world, well surely she could imagine now. She looked surprised however when he ran up to puke in the ashtray and she looked a bit sick herself now. She looked up at Delta who seemed to miss nothing either and remove the ashtray exactly when it was free of possum. She looked at her own coffee, the strong smell of the bitter liquid made her want to gag herself but she could drink coffee right, she loved coffee. She lifted up the cup again and tried a mini sip. It felt heavy but she endured it. She watched the possum perform a dance, holding up her hand when he almost fell off the bar, to stop it in case it was necessary. The good thing was that by distracting her she could control the feeling and focus on something else, while she half tried to catch the conversation next to her, her eyes were still on the possum. She tried to keep her attention there, laugh and clap when he sang, it might be off key but it was funny none the less. She did look up when she noticed that the drink wasn't going that well and tried not to laugh, which was why she turned her attention back to Perry until she heard Delta say something about coffee. "Eh, yea." Which was an obvious lie because it was basically untouched but that wasn't the fault of the coffee, that was her body. Maybe she should go home, but that would be another boring night and she had an article to write, this time not about wanting to improve her cooking skills. MADE BY VEL OF GS
He yawned as he began to feel a light bit of fatigue and drain coming upon him. Wiggling lightly and walking over to grab another ashtray dragging it over to the other one he'd let out some food into. Turning the new one upside down and shaking out the ashes into the dirty one as to not make a mess as he empty the new one. Flipping it over and plopping it down on the bar to sit down on his his tail flopped up and over so he could sit comfortable atop it without accidentally sitting on his tail. He snorted to himself at the idea of being taken home though shaking a paw like hand at her as if to suggest he didn't need help. Reaching around and scratching his furry back end just above his tail briefly as well. Snorting now and again as well as sniffling as he shook off the light aches that began coming up more or less as the tiredness of the day began to weight down upon him. Still drunk and a 'mostly' full belly helping him along that way as well.
But he did nod and smile with his large toothy grin to see his greetings were welcomed by the other woman as well. The people kind and in his haze less worried about the humans and their behaviors as he may have been in any other more ordinary situations. He wiped his eyes though after grinning at her. His small dark beady eyes seemingly to have sleepies in them as he wiped his furry back of his paws against them trying to clear his vision a bit that was dazed by tired tension as well as the inebriation.
"I'll be okay... But maybe some coffee for me too? I like coffee...." His head began to slump lightly as he seemed to halfway fall asleep from time to time his head tilting but then raising back up. He reached over to a napkin dispenser after a moment and pulled one out with a quick jerk of his arm. Throwing it over his shoulders where he say down and was resting. To him it looking like as well as being used as a small blanket to hang over his back. The little bit of warmth it provided a comfort as he seemed to be drifting in and out.
