The sun was setting over a shadowy ghetto within the bowels of Tokyo, hidden away behind the twisting junction-ways of alleys and flashing lights of the surrounding districts. Normally, there wouldn't have been much to be going on in this shadowy den of urbanites, however about ten minutes ago a tall, muscled man in a dark blue sleeveless jacket and jeans had come into the area much to the displeasure of everyone that saw him. He was a foreigner, for one, and he had responded to any prodding and confrontation with vicious blows and ruthless aggression like that of an inhuman beast. He had come here on as good information as he could get overhearing the homeless and any roughed civilians, there were quite the depraved people here. Dens of profane fighting and other disgusting acts, and the very thought of children having to be brought up in this vile place struck a nerve after he had gotten wind of the UA student's vlog regarding what had happened there and the hardships those children had faced. "No child should have to go through any of that. We don't need any more monsters in this world," his thoughts echoed. The sight of that poor, broken boy, Chimera, rose up into his mind with his step he took, every punch and kick and rake of his clawed fingertips. He could practically see the tears when he closed his eyes, feel them as the red spilled on his hands, and his fangs were bared as the man- nay, the devil- tore his way through the resistance standing against him while he made his way to what appeared to be one of the more prominent havens of sin in the forsaken place. "I will not stand to see a tragedy like that happen again. It pains me too much to see innocent people suffering like that."
Suffering punch and kick and pipe and bat and all manner of lesser wounds these warriors of the ghetto could muster against him. Wooden boards broke against his form, stumbling the ravaging beast for but a moment only for him to retaliate far worse, struggling with all of his resolve to not claim any needless lives. But that resolve was slipping further and further with every wound as the red trailed down his face and his arm. Letting go of himself, plunging down into his savage instinctual nature to kill or be killed, he roared out with a breaking voice. He lashed out with murderous anguish and hatred, slamming bodies around like sacks of vegetables as he rampaged inside the building's entryway, clawing and biting through the few semblances of 'heightened security' as he made his way farther inside, bodies scattered in his wake. It was clear he was slowing, battered and bleeding, acting recklessly and without any thought, the few women and children and other terrified individuals fled as they heard the rampaging sounds of battle going on, crying and barricading themselves away as the unknown source of the aggressor tore its way closer to that underground room. He was coughing blood now, falling over onto his knees and struggling to stand, but still he forced himself to get up on shaking leg and trudge through into view from behind the metal security door. He spoke no words, he hadn't the mind left for it, but the tears of blood that dripped down his face and the burning fires in his eyes said more than words ever could, and he wasn't leaving until his sins were carried out. Whether he would be carried out alongside them or not was up to fate.

She pushed the man forward, throwing him into another who only shoved him back at the woman. She dawned her suit, without the emblem of the Ketsujo Corporation for once. A black vest over a green dress shirt, the left sleeve rolled up past her elbow. Her left hand covered by a single white glove. her slacks a white to match, with the buttons on her vest the same ivory color. The girl had her hair tied up, colored, and dyed for the evening. A vibrant violent ponytail slung over her shoulder, as a bone mask covered and concealed her face. She was going to be entertained, for tonight at least. "Now, you owe me some money. So I took the liberty to bet all of your savings on you. If you win, your debt is cleared. If you die, well, you lose everything, including your life." She laughed, handing the man a blade to match his opponent. She patted his back before shoving him forward to face the other man. "You both failed me, and one of you is going to clean up the mess."Kasey directed the underground ring of their little dark fight club, only this time it was to the death. To bet on human lives wasn't exactly a grand thing to do, but with all of the commoners watching, it was only right of her to present a show. She laughed, lifting her hands as everyone cheered, all of them in the room completely unaffected by the commotion outside. It was just the slums, rich and powerful people coming down to wear a mask and bet on human lives. No quirks, equal footing, for the most part at least. Kasey had her plan, she wanted the both of them to die. Both of of their accounts were already drained, their lives in shambles. All that she needed now was for the spectators to place their bets on either of them, and she would claim winnings for herself. But as the fight began, a man entered the room. The two fighters swung at each other, while the woman looked upwards at the man who stood at the top of the steps. Other businessmen and other thugs stood around her. "Guards, apprehend him. He can be in the next show." Kasey would say, waving a hand to direct several other men to go after him. She would turn her attention back to the fight at hand. ~ Word Count: 000 ~ |

Staggering down the steps, Einar had come into full view, the shadows being peeled away and displaying the blood trailing down his form. It was on his face, his arms, his clothes, everywhere. His breathing was heavy and growling like that of a horrid beast, stumbling onto his knee as the mysterious woman leading the show ordered her guards to capture him. Forcing himself to stand, tired and beaten, he snarled and lashed out with fangs and claws, going for eyes and throats and other soft fleshy bits as the blood ran down over his eyes. "I will not be anyone's plaything!", he snarled out, his voice strained and rough, coughing out more of that sticky red liquid as he was struck in the stomach and beaten down against the ground by the men. Still, he continued to fight against them, as futile as it was he couldn't bring himself to stop. Not after what he had done to get here, the blood that had been shed, and the hate and sorrow in his heart. Even as they dragged him up off the floor, he fought and thrashed, struggling to make his way toward that women directing the whole thing with a murderous gleam in his blood-coated eyes, tears peeking at the corners but not daring to escape in his rage. He had nearly managed to slip free of the several men holding him tight, only to be swung back in a collective effort against the wall and quickly have his head rammed against it with all of their strength, bringing his vision to fade as the embrace of unconsciousness swallowed him up and left his body limp. He had gotten himself in far too deep, and who knows what that woman had in store for her little 'show'.

He was going to ruin everything. She turned, watching as quickly, one man fell, a blade in his neck, the impact with the ground, shoving it further. The second man, rather than celebrating, charged directly for the woman. A few onlookers gasped, some shouting inaudible words. Kasey did not even so much as turn to acknowledge the man. Her right hand swung at the man, her fingers aligned, pressed side by side as she slashed at the man. From her fingertips, a white solid substance grew from her body. The object would fuse into what appeared a large blade, decapitating the man like the one on the ground. As it passed, it would return to her hand, blood on her fingertips. "Shows over for tonight. Everyone out of my way." she would say, pointing at the man with her left hand, directing another chosen few to charge after him. "What I'll do to you if you fail, is nothing compared to what he's doing now." she would say to the three men. They looked at each other, before charging at the man with nothing more than armored knuckles in their hands. Only, as they neared, the other ones had gotten hold of him. They would crowd, trying to pin the man's arms around his back, a few others grabbing his legs to prevent him from kicking them. Kasey would begin to stroll towards them man, wondering who he was, or rather what. "Before I kill you, indulge me." she would say, as if to reveal her master plan to the hero of the story, only to have it all foiled in the end. "Did someone send you, or did you come down here on your own? Did you come here for me, or did you come here to save one of these rapists, or thieves from one of my death games." she would ask him. "You obviously have no problem killing. Makes no difference to me to throw another murderer to my show." she spoke, her hands holding onto the inner collar of her vest, just over her breasts. "That, or I can just put you into a blender to feed the dogs. And when I say dogs, I mean my play things."Given the number advantage, the men would try to make the man get to his knees to face the woman, Kasey kneeling to get to eye level with the man. Three men to hold his arms, another two to hold his legs to the ground, while others stood by just in case. "You did kill a few people that work for me, I suppose I could thank you for saving me money, but now I have far too many positions open. We're understaffed. Are you house trained?" She asked, tilting her head wondering, almost preparing to be spat on. Perhaps she said too much, or perhaps too little. ~ Word Count: 481 ~ |

With the hard blow to his head against the wall, the man was having trouble focusing, spottily coming in and out of consciousness as the woman approached and spoke to him, asking his questions he couldn't really make out through the pulsing in his ears. Sent here? On his own? Saving rapists? What was this woman talking about?! He tried to speak, but the only thing that was coming out was slurred and hard to make out. It sounded like he said something about kids in this place, and growing up, and monsters. Struggling to keep his eyes open as his vision blackened again and his head dropped, he startled to life sporadically as the woman talked about his recent killings of her workers, and if he was...house trained? Did she think him a dog?! Some stray beast for her to master?! The thought of it made him spit at her, or at least try to. The only thing that came out of his mouth was some more blood, and it barely left his stained lips, trailing down his chin before he coughed out a bit more in front of him. If she was suggesting him a job, to keep his life, he didn't really have much choice in the matter. Mustering what words he could, perhaps the clearly thing he was spoken in this whole exchange, he muttered out a simple, "I'll work for you", before blacking out again for the foreseeable future.

How strange. Never did something so easily go to her plans. It almost baffled her. She waved her hands to direct the men to carry their new guest away. There was no more shows for the day, they already took their prize. For now, she was going to collect the gem from her mound of shit. All she needed was to take one person of value for a later job. Everyone else was fodder. They were paid with pocket change. Kasey followed her men down another corridor, the others carrying the man behind her. The ones in front would open a door to a room that was well lit for the most part, save for a few broken bulbs. All that decorated the room, was a seat and two chairs. There was no windows save for the one on the door. It was fairly large, and appeared to be a interrogation room of some sort at least. Kasey would direct them to bring him into the room, setting his body into the seat, and his arms in front of him. There were chains to detain him, but they were not used. As they finished, Kasey would wave them out of the room, before taking a eat across from the metal table. Both seats were strange, in the matter of being made of fine wood, and a satin cushion, rather than being metal as well. Kasey threw her legs onto the table, resting them there as she watched the man, waiting for him to come to. "Maybe I should have put you into the dirt, you don't very much look alive." she would say. "Did you come here to be a hero, or did you just want to murder some people?" she would ask, not sure if he was going to come to. She didn't care. It was nice to have company. ~ Word Count: 311 ~ |

Being carried into the room and propped in the chair, Einar laid there for a good several minutes, stiffly limp and breathing somewhat shallow. Aside from some sputtering coughs, he wasn't much of a lively person in this state. Groaning and twisting in the chair, he had finally opened his eyes, shakily grabbing onto the table to keep from tipping over. He was visibly pale when he came to life, surprise in his eyes as he glanced around to see a nearly bare room, and that woman sitting across from him. Finally, he could get a good look at her as he wiped the crusted blood from his eyes. "I didn't come here to save any of those people, in fact I came here to wipe them out. Those children living in this ghetto- they shouldn't have to grow up with that shit. If I have to be a monster, a murderer, to keep those kids from becoming the horrible people here- If killing everyone here means they get taken out of this wretched place, to a better life than I had, I will gladly throw myself beyond forgiveness," he spat out, voice hoarse and strained like he was on the verge of tears.
"Those poor kids- That video- There was an incident at that little school, and hearing that little goat kid- I just- Those kids don't deserve to get put through that trauma. It's how the world ends up full of monsters, and we don't need any more." He seemed to be looking toward the floor, teeth clenched and struggling to hold back tears. They'd break through anyway, dropping down from his nose and chin. "You didn't just kill me there. Why? I pushed myself too far, you could have easily killed me, and you didn't. Who are you to be so merciful, and what do I owe you for it?" By now, Einar was clutching at an armrest with as much strength as he could muster, still exhausted from that terrible deed not even an hour ago, and he wouldn't dare raise his eyes to the woman.

So he was alive, even if barely. He would live to tomorrow, maybe the next week. Kasey was not yet sure if it was a good thing or a bad one. Was he going to be a waste of her time, or would be show his worth? She was gambling with lives, it was only fair to find and put herself in a similar situation. She listened to his words, and while she could agree, he was a fool to go about his wishes in his manner. But she nodded along, listening to him until he fell onto the words of that child. "We will consume all that dare harm the family we have created." Setsuna would begin to think, but Kasey would not answer his words. "Ah, I get it, you're just stupid." she would finally say, pushing herself back, tipping her chair, rocking back and forth during the hazy conversation. "You're one of those extremist vigilantes who think by succumbing yourself to the life of a villain, you're doing the world some good." Kasey was a villain. A murderer who killed villains to help her sleep at night. She was no hero, but the news tried to make her out to become one. It was not a life she wanted. She wanted to kill everyone, take the throne, and become the only one that would show the world evil. If anyone could speak on heroic values for a villain, she was the only one who could speak it. "Even pawns have value." she would say, "Ones with quirks are polished, but not always refined." she would nod, lifting her head as she spoke, almost snobby. "If I wanted you dead, you've have been dead. But none of these people have value to me. Murderers and thieves I come to hire, send them on a job and only a few return. With more power, my success rate grows." She would smile from behind her mask. "You want to kill villains, just like me." Her words ominous. They were unclear if she referred to him killing people like who she was, or killing them in the manner she did. But soon, her words would clarify. "You want to be a hero, killing and getting your hands bloodied so the real heroes don't have to." she would giggle, a light laugh. "That look in your eyes, I had it once. But you are far too young. You're in infant in my underground." Laughter, true laughter followed. To her, it was all a game. "Then you will become my villain. And we will show the world, what real heroes look like."~ Word Count: 439 ~ |

Hearing the woman call him stupid made him chuckle suddenly. "Stupid, reckless, stubborn. Yeah, that about sums me up, but I'm not one to just stand by and let innocent people get hurt, especially kids. I try not to kill anyone who doesn't deserve it, and I try to keep innocent people from getting hurt," he muttered in, perhaps unwanted, response. "I'm not afraid to get my hands bloody, you're right, and I was always standing up for the younger kids, the ones that couldn't defend themselves. I guess seeing the kids in this place, it reminded me of myself and everyone else- Us orphans had to look after each other, sure there were a few adults to tend to us, but whenever we went anywhere it was up to us to keep each other safe."
Hearing the woman talk of him being a child compared to her, and how she'd take him in as her villain, he couldn't help but grin through to tears and laugh with her. "I think I'm about twenty-something years too old to be adopted, but you're welcome to try and get the papers," he laughed, the reality of it hitting a bit too hard for him in his heart, resting his head back on the chair as he stared off at the ceiling. "Nice to finally meet someone I could call 'mom', my name's Einar Erminigild. Mind if I know yours?", he continued, still chuckling as he finally made the effort to look her in the eyes, though it was clear he was hurting inside as he laughed.

Hearing him say it out loud, only made her laugh harder. She agreed, but the way he said it made it sound so childish. A fool would dream such a thing. But he was a pawn, someone who had the will to do his work, but no power to do so. She would direct him, and lead him to their new era. Kasey was assembling a team, and perhaps there was room for him. To have him so close to heart, she was sure to make sure all of her questions were answered. He went on to tell her he was an orphan. Kasey related, a bit. She too was an orphan, but not that evil slain her parents. Cherry, her twin sister ended their lives, all after she was kicked from their own. Cherry avenged her sister, and Kasey sought her revenge on the world. "For now, you can just address me as K." she would tell him, "Life is a dangerous game. Everyone has their mask, but mine hold alone more value than any other life you claimed today." She looked him into his eyes, trying to make sense of the person he was, and the person he could become. She might not have been someone to judge good character, but she someone to judge poor. "Age is irrelevant in this world. Here, age is measured in power." From her mask, a single tooth of the skull would extend, growing into a blade, only for the girl's legs to fall onto the ground, her right hand reaching to her face to break the tool off, slamming it into the table. The end of the knife making it's way half way into the metal table. "You're still an infant. It would be shame for you to fall before your next birthday." She would say to him, "Are you willing to commit crimes, for the betterment of society, or are you going to be play pretend hero?"~ Word Count: 327 ~ |

Hearing the woman talk of masks and life being dangerous, Einar could only grin with a death-wish in his eyes. "You and everyone else can wear masks all you want, but I'm not one for any of it, K. You saw my nature when I walked in the door, and you'll see how many I went through when we leave, if they're not already cleaned up. I want villains coming after me, it sames me the trouble of going after them," he replied, his smile quickly growing cold as she talked of playing a pretend hero. "I'm sure you can see it in my- my everything. I care too much about what happens when monsters go running amok making life hard for innocent people just trying to live their lives. I might be a monster, but I'm not an evil person," he grimaced. Shaking his head a bit, he continued, "I don't know what you're getting at with that hero remark, but I'm not looking to be praised for any of it. I do what I have to, but I'd rather not be used to create a mass-panic or anything crazy like that. I don't threaten innocent people, or disrupt their business any more than I can help, and I'd prefer it if they didn't get caught up in the middle of it but sometimes it happens." He held a sternness on his face as he spoke, waiting to hear how this K woman took it. He stood strong with his convictions, and there were certain things he woldn't do, most of which involved disrupting civilian life in a harmful manner. "I live on the streets, so I do my best to keep the filth off of them. I assume you do things a bit...grander, than that?"

Maybe he wasn't getting where she was going with things. She needed a more basic, and straightforward approach for someone like him. He seemed to be a meathead, someone with simple dreams, and an even more simple means of trying to achieve it. With a knock, a man would enter the room, a cup in either hand, with steam coming from under the lids. He would near, only to set on into Kasey's hands, and the other on the table. As the man continued, she would lift her cup to her lips, drinking the sweet hot chocolate. It was much too late in the day to have coffee. They might as well stay warm. With another wave, she would dismiss the man, before continuing their conversation. "So you really are a moron." she would say, offering him the second cup. "Chocolate, unless you're allergic. No sense to freeze to death." She lifted her cup to her lips again, her mask opening and moving as she moved it towards and away from her mouth, only her jaw visible. "If you want to hit villains where it hurts, you need to gain infamy. You need their attention. While you might not be evil, you need them to believe you are. Be a threat to their power. Become their rival, not a nemesis like heroes are." She would set the empty cup on the table, only to continue. "I was like you once, naive. I thought I could just kill all of the little ones that made life hard for the common man. It's not that simple. To destroy evil, you need to be something evil fears." She spoke, her mask shaping, growing a jaw, and eventually speaking on it's own. "We don't kill innocents. But those we do kill, we're sure to make a point of." The masculine voice of Setsuna spoke. A low and bellowed tone, like an old sage who had far more years left in him. "I bet you were ready to kill me too, and you had no idea who I fought for, or what I fight for." She told him, "Before I can even put you around the others, I have to make sure I don't have to worry about you." She would tell him, "Tell me everything I need to know about you, as your employer. And perhaps whatever else you might need in your life." She set her feet back on the table, pushing herself out and tipping backwards, rocking herself once more. She was ready to make a deal. "Those of value to me, live in far better places than these slums, unless you have a sick infatuation with them."~ Word Count: 446 ~ |

Eyeing the woman as she seemed to berate and explain at him, and hot drinks were brought in, Einar nodded, grasping the cup in his hand. "Of course you need to be something for them to be concerned with, but you can't expect to just go straight for all the big names, that's just suicide. The little troublemakers might not be much as far as villains are concerned, but everything helps when it comes to making society a safer place, wouldn't you agree? And besides, can't hope to topple any big threats unless you can deal with the ones leading up to them," he replied, taking a few tentative sips of the refreshingly hot, chocolatey drink. Seeing the mask grow and speak of its own gave him a bit of a shock, but nothing so bad as to make him jump out in surprise. Hearing the woman speak the truth of him being ready to kill her, he nodded, opening his mouth to speak but stopping himself as she continued, talking of wanting to test him and wanting him to tell her everything of importance.
"I- I may have been going to attack you. I tend to get lost in my instincts sometimes, especially when I'm in a do-or-die situation. Sorry about that, K," he responded, the regret showing as he broke eye-contact for a second or two to look at the knife of bone stuck in the table. "Well, you already know my name, and you've seen a good bit of what I do at my limits." He paused, thinking and bringing the drink up to sip some more. Setting down the cup, Einar moved his arm over the table, bending his fingers and holding his palm toward the ceiling, to let the woman have a good look at his blood-crusted nails. "I've got these claws and teeth, they're kinda sharp. As for the rest of it, I don't know what to say. I'm stronger than an average person, and I can take a good bit of punishment. There's really not a lot to my mutation."

He was almost beaten to death, yet here he was able to sit himself up. She was sure to send in a medical team to see him, and even go as far to prescribe some medication for whatever additional pains he had. Kasey was someone who found her way to the top by misfortune and circumstance. But in the place of her pain, she made the most of it, to take what she rightfully wanted and deserved. As he went on, he explained his recklessness, something Kasey noted, and would have to keep in mind for later. With his rather simple quirk, she would have to make the most with him, at least giving him a position that would benefit the both of them, if not his powers alone. But he went on, but still answered none of her questions. "I said about yourself." she would say coldly to him, "I could care less what your quirk did. I saw it. If you can fly and shoot fireballs, maybe we can continue, but I'm asking about you." She would say, lifting a finger at the man. "Got family? Friends? A job? What are your hobbies? Can you count?" she asked a series of rather meaningless questions, but to her, it was a screening. She needed to know the man she was about to invite to her own estate. ~ Word Count: 228 ~ |

Einar could only shrug and grimace as the woman as she prodded him for more info about his personal life. "Do I look like I'm a person with any of those things? No family, never knew my real one and I don't really keep in touch with anyone from my childhood. I'm not really the 'make friends' type, people that might be able to get me to enjoy things a bit more than 'not at all' are very few and far between, but I wouldn't call any of them friends just yet. As for a job, I've got murder on my police record, do you really think anyone is going to hire a murderer, especially here in Japan?", he retorted, shaking his head a bit and sipping some more of the hot chocolate before just grasping both hands against the cup.
"I went to school, didn't finish, but I know my basic math and language stuff. I don't really have the money or time for big hobbies, but I like to read novels whenever I can get the time. I don't really get to eat all that healthy all the time, so that's something I tend to look forward to whenever I can. I mean, what do you expect from me? I'm homeless, I don't really care for a bunch of luxuries since I don't have the time or money. Hell, I usually take the money off any thugs I end up killing, it's not like they're gonna need it."
