”Nah,” was the delinquent’s instant reply to Kirk suggesting that Junko would immediately go for discipline on a field trip. ”If she got out the riding crop and started beating you with it in public, the Junko would be the one who looked insane.”
It all made perfect sense to Alex. Beating the hell out of your students to that extent was simply not acceptable in today’s society, so Junko needed to hide the fact she was doing it. If she did it in public with a bunch of non-student witnesses, she was donezo if anyone ever complained. The school could totally ignore student complaints all they wanted, but once the random citizen got pissed – then things got a lot trickier for them to hide certain things. He was lazily reclined back, his feet kicked up on the windowsill without a care in the world when the train rocked for the first time and the heels were jolted off the window.
Red eyes widened as the train continued to rock… even if Alex was groggy before, he was sure as shit awake now. The train started rocking more and more, and everything that happened in that minute or so was honestly a blur. Alex’s first reaction was to tether himself to the seat with his quirk, and Darren at some point yelled his name and then seatbelts – seatbelts, right. The thing that nobody was wearing. He buckled his own manually, but tendrils of shadow went out to Miyu and Eli in particular to make sure they were both buckled down. Kirk had already jumped out of his seat, and while it was possible for Alex to maybe shove him back into it… it would be hard for him to calculate whether Kirk would resist or not, and the delinquent quickly decided the risk of pushing too hard and breaking his classmate’s ribcage was far too much and just let him be.
He had his sack, anyway. That would totally do something.
Right?
”Eli, Miyu – sit tight, I gotcha!” he spoke calmly, not yelling above the noise but loud and confident enough to be heard. Before the train started rolling, Alex created what amounted to a squishy cushion that insulated each of the three of them that weren’t moving at the present much in the same way that being covered in bubble wrap or having a ton of feather pillows duct taped to you. It wouldn’t be enough to do anything if the train itself fell on them, but combined with the buckled seat belts it would prevent the whiplash and the glass from really cutting any of them due to the layer of protection.
Kirk busted out the window. Yumi smashed open the door and ran out. Darren left the car as well at some point. When the train stopped, it was upright at least so nobody was hanging upside down. Broken glass was everywhere, but Alex’s concentration did not break and as long as Eli and Miyu did not actively resist and did not get out of their seats they would have been protected from the shards of glass falling everywhere.
”Well, that’s that.” was the boy’s first words as he unbuckled his seatbelt and moved through the now open window to meet his classmates outside the now stopped train. Red eyes surveyed the area around them – wilderness, not the best thing in the world. Alex pulled out his phone to check his signal, and saw that there was no cell service in the area.
Great.
”Alright, guys!” he projected, again not raising his voice but using his diaphragm to spread his voice over a large area. ”Some of you stay with Yumi and make sure we get a headcount of every classmate. Some might still be shaken up inside of the car. There’s no cell service out here, so I’m going to go out and see if I can find a signal or a road where I can flag someone down. People are free to come with me as well, but Yumi should have the bigger group. We don’t know what caused this, so don’t go out alone. Bears, rogue military groups, Class 1-A, all sorts of villains are still on the table for who did this. We need to make sure everyone is accounted for and first aid is done for anyone who needs it – and Yumi can handle that. She’s the one with the headcount of everyone who came to the field trip, and she’s more than strong enough to hold down the fort here. We need contact with the police so they are aware of what the fuck happened, and whoever comes with me can handle that. My team will loop back here in about thirty minutes whether we succeed or fail in getting some help to arrive.”
Quick game plans were something that Alex was becoming more and more comfortable with creating and laying out to people. It might not be the best plan, but it was something for people to immediately do and gave them a purpose rather than just sitting around doing jack shit. With that, Alex didn’t bother to wait for a formal approval of the plan before he started slowly walking back in the direction where the train went off the rails. This was going to be basic, simple, and easy as long as it was just a natural train accident. Walk back to the tracks where there was signal not even ten minutes ago and make a call to emergency services to pick them up.
If this wasn’t a natural occurrence, then things would get a bit trickier. If it was villains of some sort, then there was a hostile threat that would need to be fought off. Yumi had a hugely destructive quirk that he was perfectly content leaving the larger group with, because she was so scared of it that she wouldn’t ever accidentally hit a classmate with it. Mira had a great quirk for helping pull people out of the wreckage, and Akio could easily use his quirk to heat and freeze any problematic metal that kept someone from being pulled out. Arantima, Miyu, and Robin were all new and the delinquent didn’t know much about them. Until proven otherwise, they were clueless and needed protection like small children or puppies.
Kirk, Eli, and Darren were all very driven and very physical individuals who would absolutely go on the offensive if push came to shove. It’s why he specifically requested Yumi to stay back, because she could be the one actually protecting the ones who needed it at all times and making sure a bear didn’t come in and eat one of the new kids when nobody was looking or whatever.
As for Alex? He just wanted to go back home, cuddle with Aki for a bit, and go to sleep. Was that so much to ask for?

Darren's speakers blared just a bit too loudly for Miyu's comfort, and she withdrew her foot from behind her head so she could cover her ears and pout. "Boo, so old! Can't we listen to something newer?" Her friendly jeer was cut off by Kirk's arm almost flexing right into her face, and she was forced to lean back against her seat to avoid catching an elbow to the nose. Trying to talk over his arm, she chirped, "I could teach you some of my stretches if you want, Kirk!"
While she didn't actually hate the music Darren had chosen, the vibrations were beginning to make her uncomfortable. When the first rattle came, she almost thought the speakers had just gotten that loud, or the song had an unexpected crash in the middle, but as the second shook through the car it became obvious that no speaker in the world could cause that kind of movement.
"W-What's happening?" Miyu gasped, trying to get a clear look outside the window. In her position, it was rather difficult; Kirk's huge body somewhat obscured her view, so all she could see were the clouds outside moving to meet them. Or, were they going up? That couldn't possibly be it, right?
The moment Yumi commanded them all to duck under a table, Miyu had already shot under the closest one. Confusion and panic overrode any thinking she could do, and she made a fruitless attempt to pull Kirk under with her. Soon, Yumi called for Miyu to grow in size, and without even taking a moment to think, she did so.
It was only when she felt the table above her strain and give way that she realized what she'd just done. "NOOO!" She whined as she grew to her full size, thankfully just short of the train car's ceiling. The tipping that had almost made her sick earlier slowed to a stop as her added weight balanced it out. "I-Is everyone okay?" She called over the ruckus filling the train car. A couple windows had already been broken open while she was panicking, but Miyu still thought it best to pry off one of those remaining to make it easier for the others to exit.
As the cool evening air finally washed over Miyu's face again, she finally calmed down somewhat. In her giant form, she could easily see to the edge of the island. The speckled lights of the city down below made her dizzy, and it took every ounce of strength left in her to keep herself from collapsing.
"W-What the heck? Is this like in Omegaman Tiger?" She cried, whipping her head back and forth searching for some kind of way down to no avail.

phantom grip Luckily she had such amazing and skilled classmates.
But before it gets to that...
Mira kept herself seated down, relaxed, leaning back against the chair she had previously lowered down onto, with the same earphone on her right ear and continuing to listen to the same cheery and booming pop songs. Her opposite auditory organ was still attentive to whatever was being said around her, at least within a certain limited range. She obviously also focused on her conversation with Yumi, actually intrigued to hear if something new had been made for her, in this case that 'something' being hero outfits.
The purple-haired teen is still in search of someone to make her the same.
"Ooh... If it's taking that long, it must be really cool, huh?" Mira remarked in enthusiasm for her friend. Seeing her other classmates perform with their own outfits can always give her ideas for one of her own, and watching Yumi use her new design alongside her quirk was something she was looking much forward to witness. "I'm happy for you, Yumi!" She joyously exclaims.
Mira returned to 'juggle' with her marbles, weaving them around back and forth before eventually bringing some apart from each other as half hovered near the partially open window and the other close in front of whoever sat besides her. Then, that's when the scene changed abruptly, and rudely so. "O-Oh...!" She was a bit taken back at first by the strange initial bump, having her backside hop off its seat for a split of a second. This had her stop focusing on the control she had over her marbles as she accidently retouched all of them with both her hands, causing them to fall. And start to roll away.
"No, wait!" The moment she stood up and leaned forth to try and retrieve them was when the entire car began to shake and rock, only growing in intensity by the second. Mira's own gaze widens and she swiftly grasps onto her seat, mustering as much strength as she could to keep herself balanced. "An accident?" She mumbled to the others nearby, looking around in boiling anxiety, heart thumping at higher speeds, starting to genuinely freak out.
Yumi's sudden shout startled her for that moment, but she wouldn't even think twice, quickly crouching down and kneeling before positiong herself safely below the present table at their shared booth. "Yumi... What's happening...?!" The purple-haired teen is in some panic, glancing over at her friend, still with the same widened look on her face, whilst desperately grasping to one of the or the foot supporting the table over the ground tiles of the vehicle. At that moment, she still had no idea that the entire car was actually being risen into the sky. So many things were happening, and with the way she reacted, she couldn't even focus on figuring out if they were still being thrown up or if they were already rolling. When the latter began to happen, her torso automatically crashed against her right side, against the wall under the table.
Then, her hand is snatched away, taken within a tight grasp. Mira had her eyes closed shut, but then she noticed once she reopened them. "YUMI!" She shouted, looking to her left and right in rapid fashion, and taking quick notice of what was actually happening. They were rolling! She saw some of her fellow students with their butts in the air, some crashing against the walls in the same manner as it was happening to her before, though many more times.
Everything was happening so fast, and she couldn't even stop to think about what to do. Could she even do anything? She was being carried away so quickly too. Mira wanted to reach out to some of her classmates in trouble, but she wasn't sure if she even could. She didn't want to let go of Yumi either. She feared that if she did, she'd only fall victim to tumbling just like the others. But she had to do something. Something within her range of capability.
The young Yuugami heard Darren shout 'seatbelts', before witnessing Alex utilizing his shadows to help the others, by aiding them fasten their seatbelts and keep them in place. Looking back forwards, she noticed the redhead blowing away the door to the outside, the wind immediately blowing in as she continued to forcefully sprint behind the class president, automatically darting at high speeds towards the exit thanks to Yumi's quirk. Though, with her free hand, she reached who and what she could. But there was no way she could actually do anything. Before she could even find anything to use in order to help any of her other classmates in need, she found herself suddenly leaping out of the car.
Looking down, she saw grass and dirt. And to the ground she fell, tumbling once, but most likely not much more due to the hold Yumi kept on her. Her elbows and knees especially scraped down across the green, as she used them to try and halt her crash even with her friend's aid. As her legs were mostly exposed since she didn't sport her stockings too high up, merely until below her knees, two friction burns would be clearly visible. Nothing too nasty, nothing too small, but which obviously brings a good deal of annoyingly stinging pain.
"Ughnn..." She grumbled to herself, hands palming down against the grass whilst she struggled to stand, kneeling up first, then rising. "Are you guys okay?" Mira glanced over to Yumi and Robin who had leaped out along with her, before turning her attention almost instantly towards the wreckage. "A-Ah! Everyone! I'm going to go help!" Now that's something she could do, limping over to the partially destroyed car where some of her students were still present.
"Anyone still awake?!" She exclaimed, proceeding to lower down towards any debris or big pieces standing in the way of the door or any other windows, poking each of them and telekinetically pulling them away from all possible exits, ultimately dropping them on the ground further away from the chaotic scene. Any of her classmates that she could reach would be paid attention to as well, a hand of hers extending out, naturally helping them walk out. Of course, Mira even went as far as making her way back inside to try and drag anyone who might have been knocked the heck out. You never know!
Once everything was secured and everyone was safe and out of danger, she walked back to the others, just in time to listen to Alexander's words. "I'll stay with Yumi!" She replies, strolling back near her redhead friend and huffing deeply, now having fully realized the situation they all got into. She gently palms her forehead, caressing her bangs back as she stared up at the skies, noticing how the clouds were now even closer to the surface.
"Are we like up in the air or something?" She mumbled in deep ponder, lowering down the same hand to rub one of her hurting elbows, nibbling her lower lip.16 y/o | 167 cm 1,187 words

Eli looked at Darren as he took his bulky headphones. How could Darren take away his enjoyment of music! After realizing it was simply to compare music choice Eli shot him a grin, while Akio of course hated something else that Eli loved. Just because they hated each other didn't mean he had to hate rock! "Muse is great, but I can get behind any type of rock man! Everyone else might hate you for playing it in the train but I say you got guts Darren!" Eli attempted to high five his mutual rock fan. After which Kirk stated that he didn't want his notes, "I'll just send you a picture later or something man, that way you can do it at your own pace ya know?"
Even with Elis love of rock, he couldn't deal with it blaring in his ears. It was obviously not on purpose and due to the bump the train suffered, so Eli didn't hold it against him. As all the chaos began, Eli knew something was wrong. He dashed to the window and realized they were...flying? The train was definitely in the air that much he knew. It it was a villain attack this could be seriously bad. Eli decided to go back to his seat for safety and put his seatbelt on. While Yumi vocalized that the class should get under tables, Eli was simply too big to get under his.
Suddenly the train started rolling...and Eli slipped out of his seatbelt. Alex had attempted to secure him more but it was too late, Yumi blew the door open, and Darren followed. Eli figured his best chance at surviving this was with a fellow rock lover, so he went after him. He made diamond spikes on the bottom of his shoes in order to stay grounded and dashed to the door. On the way Kirk was launched out of a window, Eli hoped they had a medic for any injured students, but he would worry about that later! He dove out the door and landed outside near Darren and the others. He had passed out for a few seconds and woke up to Darrens boombox still playing the same song. He stood up and checked himself for any serious injuries, nothing but scrapes and bruises. He looked at the train, and decided he would go check on everyone, however Darren already was so he went to check on Kirk, "Yo you good man? No serious injuries right?" He asked the sports lover, after his answer he would attempt to help him over to the rest of the group if necessary.
As Alex gave his call to action type speach, Eli spoke up, "I'll go with you man, if it is by chance a villain attack it would be best to go with a group of at least 3.Ii would prefer four but I don't want anyone going with injuries either." Eli shot a look at Darren hoping he would hop on board the duo's mission, he hoped Kirk wasn't too injured to come with them too. Eli walked up to where he would be standing next to Alex. He looked at Yumi with a reassuring smile, and got ready to leave.

“You know,” he says facing Darren and ignoring the others. Eyes are narrowed and half-shut, his cheek in his hand, “Girls don’t really like dudes blasting noise either. You should rethink your strategy.”
The world rocks and ends.
The borders between splinter and shatter, come apart in cacophony – the sensation of flying falls short and lands hard, pressed down in his seat, against the wall to his side, against the ceiling as their train tumbles upturned. Consciousness frozen, buffering, individual frames of color and sound are all he can render from input chaotic and raw. Someone growing, someone flying. Horizon twisting upturned and coated in dense black shadow, and he blinks in his mind, shivers and wonders briefly with a primal twitch in his chest whether that shadow is real or the lingering poison of Semper Fi.
The others answer their calls without hesitation, he would find later. Tense and frozen while burning hot – every muscle burns tight with fear, quirk included. It’s held back, restrained with years of discipline just as a pipe bulges with steam. Still, his palms char their shape into the fabric he’s gripped. He cannot process himself, his body placed on hold, low priority and forgotten for a mind assaulted.
In one of those frames, a girl extends her hand.
Palm scrapes palm – he scrambles, finds his grip, flies outward as Yumi’s tail and tumbles, a crash landing on the land outside. Knees scrape dirt – wild and uncoordinated, two legs tangle, stretch wild in search of ground before they find their footing. He runs along with the momentum, looses speed and adrenaline slowly in tandem until both rest flat at nothing.
In the wreckage of the train, tangled steel in the distance, he sees the remains of Hideaki’s ambition.
It’s minutes later that he feels himself shivering.
He’d fallen some meters away from the group, slung along with Yumi’s momentum. Flexing his hands, testing for wounds – the only one he finds rests on his face, terror bandaged by false confidence.
For a long moment, the scene rests ambient. Everything rests in his periphery, nothing in focus. An enormous girl above, debris lifted and replaced without touch.
Five fingers, tensed and stretched, reach up to his sleeve, grip his shoulder, and slide down. Fabric once wrinkled comes away smooth.
‘It’s all I can do...’
He comes close enough to hear them now. Ambient sight and noise coalesce, merge tacit into fear and unease, and the thought is comfortable.
Camaraderie, almost.
Arms crossed – he rests at the rim, glances to Yumi as Alex states his plan. ‘The obvious choice,’ he thinks.
And to Mira, close enough to hear, he sighs in thought without turning to face her. “I don’t know. Maybe -” he stutters, sweats, swallows saliva and hesitation. “Maybe it’s the JSDF.”
Ambience fading – the world comes into focus, its borders fixed and fractioned, proper, rational. Feeling in his feet and hands hot with blood begin to cool. Nuance, he thinks – he hears the notes in that noise once more.
“How are you two? Did you land okay?”

| 395 words @ ### "May you always find your way in the dark" |
Arantima Was listening to his classmates and the various discussion that was going around. the train car being small enough that he could sense every single one of them individually. All were relatively normal, magnetically speaking save for Yumi.. She was a lot more defined than the rest of their class. That is when he felt the train start to bump an rock a bit, he planted his feet on the ground and tried to see if there was anything wrong with thew way the train was running but there wasn't any huge change in the magnetic waves he could sense.
Then there was a change.. the EARTH started to get farther and farther away and that just made Arantima freak the hell right out. As the class and the train lifted into the sky Arantima Shot himself straight onto the ceiling of the train, expecting a fall. "Whoah whoah whoa!~ Flying is not.. I'm not good with heights!!" He shouts as they float onward and upward until the train stops again and he feels it begin to tip. He hears Yumi shouting for someone to grow and before the train can get too far off its center of balance he Groans "This is going to hurt..."
Arantima jumps off the ceiling and flips so his feet are pointed at the floor of the train and he suddenly instead of just falling is launched towards the train floor. Not just the floor but the tracks below the train, He himself weighing in at just over 100 kilos and the force of that weight being shot downwards towards the bottom corner of the train should be enough with the help of the Growing Girl to off set the train toppling.
Arantima After the landing is attached fairly securely to the train, in the event of a toppling he would be fine likewise he keeps any metal shrapnel from flying around inside the cabin of the train by attracting it towards himself and having it hover around his body. Once everything has calmed down though he winces as he falls down to one knee. His right shin has fractured from overexerting his quirk, Too much weight will do that. He just looks around quietly though, his breath trembling from the pain but he doesn't want to make a scene or seem weak if they are in danger.

Yumi responded to Mira about her costume saying that they were working on the next upgrade and that it might be a while, she then turned to Akio and responded that it was indeed her hero costume and that her penpal was working on it "Oh that's cool! I still don't have my hero costume or even any ideas for it yet, it's kinda difficult to come up with stuff," he sighed. Darren turned down his music when Akio and Robin asked, although with snide remark thrown in as well "It's not the type of music that's the problem Darren, it's the fact that it's blaring throughout the train car," he told Darren calmly, not risking taking any type of bait from Darren. That's when the train car began to shake, at first Akio thought nothing of it, they were on a train, trains shake all the time, but then he noticed it wasn't a typical shake from being bumpy or anything, it was more diagonal. Akio turned to look out the window and noticed that he couldn't see any of the train cars in front of them, all of a sudden he felt a jolt and felt a sensation that they were rising in the air, he heard Yumi yell to get under their seats so Akio immediately slid down under the table. When they stopped rising Akio thought the worst of it was over, that is until he felt the train car tipping OH COME ON REALLY?! he thought as he slid down the floor and landed on the row of seats opposite him and then fell down on the roof of the car, which was now technically the floor of the train and landed with a thud "Ougggh what the hell happened," he groaned as he slowly stood up and walked out of the car, injury wise he was fine, just some bumps and grazes at worst. Once he stepped out of the train car he realized that they were floating in the sky, he could see the clouds directly next to their little island "Holy fuck....," he muttered not believing what happened, he was snapped back to reality by the sound of Alex's voice calling out their plan, saying some people should stay with Yumi and get a headcount and he'd go and see if he could find a signal mentioning that people can come with him but Yumi should have the bigger group and make sure first aid is done for everyone who needs it and that Yumi could handle it. Akio raised his hand and spoke "I also know a little bit of first aid and my quirk can be used in place of ice packs for any bruising or swelling," he called out to the rest of the class, he knew he couldn't do much, but hopefully he'd be able to at least help with this

We are the Ultimate And we are the end With the students grouping up and heading in different directions, the plan seemed to be to just get together and figure out what happened to them. It was the best course of action the group could think up after the accident they had just survived. And while no one was horribly injured, the class was shaken by the sudden turn of events. It wasn't every day that a train car toppled over and spit them all out like that. However, in the end, they were able to compose themselves and get right to work with each other. It was what one would expect from a student of the hero course of Japan's first professional hero school. They were to be the best of the best after all. Those with Yumi opted to help those that were hurt and to help them with what they could while those with Alex opted to explore the newly formed island and find out what was going on. Some things were suggested and should the students decide to try them out they would get some very odd results. The first and most obvious thing was to call for help. While driving up to them was out of the question, a rescue helicopter of some kind wasn't out of the police's ability. And even if it was, the few heroes that currently existed in Japan could so something with their quirks to rescue the students. However, if a cellphone was tried there would be some odd results. The students would find that their connection and service was just terrible. There was barely a signal if any at all. Any cheap phone wouldn't even be able to make a call. Higher end ones with a more powerful signal could get through, but only for a few moments. It was enough for the line to ring once or twice and then be cut because of loss of service. Internet speeds were too slow to get anything posted online. Most phones would time out before a page or app could even be loaded and were limited in functionality. It was a frustrating line between hope and uselessness. But that wasn't all that hit them either. The earth began to rumble once again and this time, there was a visible crack forming on the island. The ground was moving again. The very earth split in two forming a dividing line between the two groups of students and separated them from each other. Yumi's group was sectioned off with the toppled train and the tracks that it used to be on. They also had a clearer portion of the floating island left to them to explore and try and figure out what was going on. And as for Alex's group, they were stuck with the forest and very few clear areas. The gap between the two widened quickly, making it unsafe to jump across by normal means. And by the time it stopped moving the segments of land were roughly twenty meters apart. It was enough for the two to call out to each other, but it was pretty clear they were out of each other's reach otherwise. word count tags whatever
