We are the Ultimate And we are the end As a narrator would say, it was a day like most others. Class 1-C of Yuuei had taken a trip from Musutafu to Tokyo. It was an educational one, at least it was supposed to be. With Class 1-C being the most chaotic of the hero course at the school, little could be done to control what they did even with the strict homeroom teacher they had. Ultimately, however, the trip proved fruitful. What exactly did it entail? Tokyo, being one of Japan's most populated cities, was much in need of the hero profession. And the students were shown how Tokyo was slowly changing not only to the introduction of heroes but to quirks as a whole. Many of the students in the class would likely serve to protect the city in some way in the near future and it was a good opportunity for them to see the future they had ahead of them. What each student got out of that was probably going to be different. Whether it was motivation, curiosity, fun or whatever, 1-C would use it however they felt like.
But with the trip over and done with, the students were on their way back to Musutafu and Yuuei. It was the late evening and Class 1-C had just finished their class dinner in Tokyo. They were now grouped together on the last train car that was moving between the city on what should have been a really short trip. Nearly the entirety of the class took up that particular car, which was the last in the line that formed the train. It was here that the students sat and talked to each other about the events of the day or their plans for the night or the next day. Some might just start off into the darkness while others were more social. Some enjoyed conversations while other might just drown themselves in their own music. Whatever it was, it was class 1-C's typical demeanor and any other train rider would be happy they were sectioned off on their own car. Sometimes that chaos was overbearing.
There was a small wind out, one that would go unnoticed to those inside of the train. The trees in the distance could just barely be seen swaying as night crept closer. However, things would quickly change for the class. The winds started to pick up as the train moved forward and those staring outside could take notice of it if they were watching the trees. It was an innocuous event that was a sign of things to come for the class. Fresh off the horrors of the Kunshu Festival and Semper Fi, the class was about to be embroiled in another sequence of events that could define their futures. And with the sun just barely peeking over the distance, it was easy to think that a sleepy train ride was far too easy for class 1-C to have. This darkening orange night sky was going to be the setting for their next adventure. 504

It had been a rather fun day out all things considered, at least in Yumi’s eyes. They’d had a nice little trip, interesting for Yumi as she learned how rules and laws were changing to accommodate for quirks, even talking with a city official about how they may be implementing laws that allow people who use quirks solely for transport (Those with wings or speed quirks) to use them legally as a means of getting to work and the like. Those talks were a long way off though, and heck even then the official was honest enough to state the likelihood of such laws passing were slim since those esecaping crime scenes would be indetectable amongst the more legal people using their quirks, but all the same, the fact quirks brought on such a potential change and the likely need for ‘air lanes’ and the like that’d go with it, was certainly interesting.
Right now though the class was on the way back home, and as class president, with Junko’s encouragement, and in minor part to spite Alex in a weird way (Spite was a truly potent motivator) Yumi was playing her part, standing at the front of the car as the rest of the class mumbled along to eachother or played on their phones. “Okay so I know I checked already but let’s do a roll call. Have we goooot…” Yumi began to shout off the names of everyone who’d bothered to sign up for the trip, something she’d done before getting on the train but she was just being thorough. Once everyone had made it clear they were on board and attending, Yumi beamed brightly and lowered the clipboard back into her little satchel bag. “Alright, looks like we’re all making it home okay then.”
Clearing her throat, she spoke up a little more clearly. “Remember to say thank you to our teachers for arranging this trip, and everyone behave even if we’re on the way home. I mean, let loose a little, not much harm you can cause at this point, but we are still representing the world’s first hero school, so it’d be in all of our best interests if we don’t give anyone reason to er…think we’re a bunch of ruffians.” She glanced to one or two of her classmates (such as Darren, should he have been attending) in a playful manner so they knew no harm was intended with that comment. “Anymore than we may already be…still. With how well today went hopefully the teachers can arrange more trips in the future. Thanks to everyone for being well behaved!”
She did wince a little, worrying she might be sounding patronizing, but her energy shined through above it and she found herself comfortably sitting down in her own little booth, lightly swinging her legs and glancing around the train, glad to see oh so many of her classmates enjoying themselves. She really did hope something like this could happen again soon, what with everyone seeming to have had a good time as far as she was concerned.

It had been a bit of a dull day for Kirk all things considered. With the trips target having been more of a showing of legal changes and theories, It was no surprise that he had been almost bored out of his mind for most of the visit. Guess it was handy for him to know what was legal to do with quirks, so he could point out if there was a risk involved... But the only real thing he was curious about was how these law changes would interact with different sports. However, since that was sort of a minor topic compared to everything else that would come up, like people who could fly, and people with super speed running about... man just thinking about it made him feel a bit inadequate... You could expect him to get, simply put, bored.
However, thankfully he had brought some of his sportsballs with him, hidden in his pouch. Of course he couldn`t actually hit them with his sports tools and risk making them accidentally fly at some of the screens. that would have gotten him in trouble! However, they did offer him a thing to distract himself with whenever none of his pals were keeping him occupied. The baseball in his hand kept flying to the air throughout the whole visit, and occasionally even span on his finger, with him skipping some of the info unfortunately, as he concentrated on keeping it so as long as possible. Heck, sometimes he had switched into a tennisball, and bounced it on the ground with these mild thumps.
However, now that they were sitting on their train trip back home, Kirk couldn`t have been more relaxed and happy. His stomach was full of the dinner they had been provided, and on top of that, he could finally speak again without needing to be told to keep it quiet! "Man, this sort of trips ain`t for me, you know!" He continued spinning the ball in his finger, bouncing it into the air from it and grabbing it into his open palm. "Hard to fit this much stuff in your head in one day!" He proceeded to scratch his head. "Really needed some sort of demonstration! Like, stuff in action or the like!"
However, before he could get his answer, the rollcall begun, and as excited as ever, Kirk shouted "HERE!" Immediately when his name was brought up at the top of his lungs. After the rollcall, Yumi proceeded to have a little speech, telling them to keep a bit of a low profile still right afterwards, which made Kirk visibly slump a bit awkwardly. "...Still? Come on, I wanna move my legs already!" Honestly, if he was given permission, he would have been ready to just start jogging in the space in-between the seats! That desperate he was for some sort of workout. However, as she said her thanks, Kirk couldn`t help but lift his hand and shout again. "Thanks to you too Yumi!" Atleast this time his voice was a little bit more tolerable.
"So uh... where was I...?" He quickly wondered, as he noticed that during all this shouting, the ball had dropped on the floor, as he reached out and picked it up, the guys big body having a bit of hard time reaching for it in such a tiny space, seating himself proper right afterwards. "You guys got anything noteworthy from it?"

Post by Miyu Sasaki on Nov 14, 2018 20:07:06 GMT -4
Miyu had been so excited about the trip in theory. Heading into Tokyo to learn about how they were changing stuff for heroes sounded interesting and fun! But, once they arrived, Miyu found out it consisted more of just sitting or standing around and listening to people talk about those subjects rather than actually seeing most of it, and so she wound up bored out of her mind. She even got yelled at once for practicing her contortion while they were talking about proposed changes to Quirk laws or whatever, because they thought she was distracting her classmates. Staying still for hours was just the absolute worst! At least the dinner was nice.
It had felt like the day was never going to end, so Miyu was more than relieved when the class finally piled into the back of the train home. Admittedly, Miyu did feel a little awkward sandwiched between two classmates she didn't know, but moving to sit on her own would only make her feel even more awkward. The guy to her left was huge, he might as well have almost been as big as Miyu was when she was using her quirk, and she was pretty sure she hadn't seen him without some kind of ball out the entire trip. She did agree with what he was saying, though.
"Yeah!" She exclaimed, "I don't want to just, like, hear about what they're doing the whole day, I wanna see it!" While she talked, she leaned a little closer to the beefy guy, but not close enough that she'd bother his personal space. "Or, at least, they could've got someone cooler to tell us about all those laws and stuff. Maybe I would've been able to pay attention then."
Miyu continued talking into the start of the rollcall, a mistake she only noticed just before her own name was called. "Ah, uh, here!" She stuttered out, hoping the class president hadn't noticed her earlier. She'd at least been paying attention enough to know the big guy next to her was named Kirk, it would've been hard to miss considering he almost busted her eardrum yelling in response.
The speech afterwards made Miyu huff in disappointment; she'd had to try and stay still for almost the whole day, and now she wasn't even allowed to practice on the train? Not that she had the room to try any particularly difficult positions anyway, but she was itching to do something. Before anyone could stop her, she budged forward on her seat, and pushed her right leg back and upwards until her right foot was just behind her head. She kept hold of her foot as she turned to talk to Kirk once more nonchalantly.
"Nah, I barely remember a word they said besides, 'stand back up and get your chin off the ground, Sasaki'. Boo-riing." She yawned, unable to cover her mouth with her hands as she was still holding her foot in position.

Upon hearing that the class would be going on a field trip that day, Eli was ecstatic. Of course it only disappointed him when it was simply to talk about how laws and such were changing. All that was cool and all, but Eli wouldn't need it for another two or three years! Why did it matter if he knew them now! To occupy himself, Eli made a diamond coin and just moved it around in his hand. Every now and then he would flip it in the air, controlling it to be heads every time. He got yelled at a few times as it was apparently a distraction, but Eli only put it away for a few minutes at most. He couldn't just sit still and do nothing! Even with his distraction, he paid attention to the conversations going on and took a few notes. Not enough for a try hard like Akio, but for Eli it sufficed. He would be able to pass a test on the information, or write a paper. Eli had just enough.
At least the food was as good as promised. Eli had enough to feed his entire family in the US. Not eating breakfast that day wasn't his best idea, but it made dinner so much better. Being deprived of most food, that meal simply felt right. Plus he had plenty of his fellow classmates to talk to while he ate. Dinner made the trip worth it for Eli.
Then they were all piled into a bus for the ride home. Eli was sat next to Kirk and put into an edge seat. In response to Kirks statements he whispered, "Yea I don't personally like it either man, but if we're gonna be hero's one day, we need to know about the laws and stuff ya know? I'm just hoping we don't get another trip like this one." Eli only whispered because role had begun, and as soon as he finished his name was called, "Here." He said loud enough to get the class presidents recognition while raising his hand.
After role call finished they were given a speech about not acting up, but they hadn't been bad all day so something was bound to happen. Whether it was Alex jumping out of a window or Akio trying to call Eli a slacker again, some kind of chaos would ensue. Eli handed Kirk his notes since he obviously needed them, "Here, it's really not a problem just pay me back later in some way. It isn't a lot but it'll help you enough." Eli said as he put the notes down on Kirks leg. He then put on his headphones and started playing music. He was ready to go home.

Hoooly fuck.
A day filled with dull legal discussions and mathafors that made no sense. The Vice-President of Class 1-C, quite frankly, looked almost as tired as he felt. He stayed up very late the night before, mostly because he got on a roll when it came to building the structures that were needed to make his Hero Operations Club work. He hated leaving work half-finished, so he worked well into the night and rolled into this field trip with next to no sleep. The bags under his red eyes were very obvious, and the omnipresent yawning was a feature of the day. That, and the micro naps. Whenever they were sat down to watch a boring video, nap. Whenever there was a break to use the restroom, nap. Whenever it felt like there would be a giant explanation about something very boring, the delinquent would lean against the wall and nap.
He had gotten pretty damned good at hiding the fact that he was sleeping by doing it in natural looking positions and making sure to be behind someone to ensure that no authority figure had a good line of sight on him. His uniform was pressed and perfect, as usual, but he really phoned it in today in terms of effort. By the time dinner came up, the delinquent had perked up at least to not fall asleep during the meal. It was a lot easier to stay up when there were people to actually talk to, rather than just being talked at by a dude who may as well have been making a boring as hell uTube video. Being real, Alex wasn’t even sure that the damned guide even knew what the hell was he talking about anyway. In a brief segment about Darkshine, that dumbass tried to say that the helicopter she saved was from the Tokyo Nippon News Network… but everyone and their mother knew that it was a TV Tokyo helicopter. Come on, dude. Alex corrected him on that one, and again when he got the date of the incident wrong. It was August 14th, you partially evolved ape. Not the 20th. Jesus fuck, if someone’s job was to keep up with heroes, you’d think that the person would put at least the minimum amount of effort into doing so.
The American boarded the train with the last of the students, and just flat out ignored the roll call. This sort of behavior was never seen before, and it only was being done now because Yumi was a literal piece of human garbage. She threatened to turn Aki against him, to ruin his relationship and for what? Because her feelings were hurt because she couldn’t beat him? Because she wanted to wallow in self-pity and refused to pull herself up by her bootstraps? Alex had tried to help her, and she not only spat back in his face but threatened to do her best to destroy his personal life as well for the trouble. That was the behavior of actual scum, and he wasn’t going to acknowledge trash who acted like that. It was absolutely pathetic, and he wasn’t going to reward that behavior by even glancing in her direction since then. That was what he got for trying to help someone with deep seated mental issues like that crazy bitch. People like that had no idea how to take a helping hand and would just thrash and bite at the hand that feeds them without a care in the world at the consequences or who they hurt in the process.
Hating him for no reason? Sure. Fine. Lots of people hated him, some for stupid as hell reasons and some for very valid reasons. If Yumi wanted to hate him for a stupid as fuck reason, that was fine. The second she brought Aki into it, though, and threatened to use her as a weapon against him… it was over. There was no coming back from that. There was no way in hell that she would ever have a shred of credibility with the American again, because she had shown she didn’t have even the slightest shred of honor or human decency when she did that. Aki was innocent and didn’t deserve to have her first go at a social life ruined by the petty jealousies of her roommate who couldn’t handle a small dose of failure. She could pretend to be a good leader, and she could pretend she wasn’t the two-faced bitch that she actually was. Eventually, the rest of the class would be able to see through that smokescreen of bullshit and she’d be forced to either change or double down in her own pile of shit.
When it came to picking a seat, the delinquent just kind of gravitated to the first familiar head shape he could make out. Kirk was tall as shit, and built like a brick shithouse to boot so he was easy as hell to spot in the crowd. His seat was filled with the new blonde girl and Eli, but the bench directly opposite the verified hulk of a man was free as free could be so the delinquent slid right in. He had overheard what the boy had said earlier, mostly because Kirk was a man who had… uh, exceptional lung capacity and put it to good use whenever he felt like speaking. That was it, that was how to put it nicely. Really, Kirk was just loud as shit and would get kicked out any library in an instant because his whispering voice was still enough to smash your damned eardrums.
As Alex sat down, he propped his heels up on the windowsill to make himself more than comfortable. ”The food was pretty good.” the delinquent offered as he did, tone light and conversational. ”Did you see the vein popping out of Junko’s neck whenever she saw you with those balls, though?” he added, a contented smile spreading across Alex’s features as he recalled the face of their ‘beloved’ teacher two deep breaths away from an aneurysm at the sight of Kirk spinning a baseball and being blessedly distracted by the fact that Alex was napping through half the damned trip. Sometimes things just worked out the way they were supposed to, they really did.

@ ### "May you always find your way in the dark" |
Arantima had just barely gotten settled in to the day to day class routine of Class 1-C and then was told there was a field trip.. This Trip was scheduled for the day AFTER his combat placement test with Mia Kearney, or "Red-Horn" and as such his right arm was hanging in a sling with a cast over it. A couple of the moves he had done were maybe stupid but they worked better than he thought they would, he was pretty durable considering that she was strong enough to literally rock the ground with a crushing slam, even if she was holding back when she hit him.
He didn't really know anyone else in the class yet, still being somewhat isolationist and keeping to himself like he used to in regular schools when he was in Ireland. The Change from being seen as a freak and constantly being hounded to "Be freaky!" or being yelled at " Come on do your freak thing!" and then being beat up for either showing his quirk or not.. either way he was beat up.. So it was what he did, keep to himself mostly even though this school seemed very very different and no one really made fun of anyone else for their quirks.
While on the field trip he was astounded at how the progress was being made for people with Quirks and the laws being considered to help with pro-heroes. He was excited, scared but mostly relieved. There was so little judgement being made on those with quirks out where they were.. none of the Sneers and cat-calls that he was used to when he was spotted back home. Even if the silence was less acceptance and more a desire to not cause trouble he didn't care it was nice to be able to be out in public and not worry about catching something thrown at him with his head.
At dinner he had been pretty quiet but was getting a bit closer to the main group, not really talking yet but not staying out of things as much.. Just sort of hanging around the periphery now as opposed to not even being on the radar. When they arrived on the train he took a seat somewhere in the center of the car and when roll--call came along he called back "Here!". It was probably the first time he had spoken all day.

phantom grip A trip.
While most might have not exactly appreciated how it went, at least it was slightly better than having to be stuck inside a classroom for the entirety of the day's schedule. This time, they had the opportunity to actually breathe fresh and clean air, and not human fragrances or whatever came from the air conditioners set up in their room. True, they did stay indoors for quite some time, but even so, it was for a good reason. No trips are always useless. They have important meanings and that's exactly what the purple-haired teen believed in.
She was a hint sad that there was little to no action, yet, as a student willing to achieve the best marks, her attention was mostly paid to the shenanigans of the trip itself and whatever was told to them. About how the laws will or could change in the near future when it came to performing heroics within the capital of Tokyo and its surrounding wards, cities and districts. It was something to remember, and for that reason she never did write down notes. After all, at least for her, it wasn't hard to differ what subjects were more important and which weren't, and the former were the ones she memorized the most.
Now back in the train are all of her classmates and herself included, in another trip back to the academy. Just like with all the others, the dinner did genuinely fill her stomach to the point of pure and complete satisfaction. The purple-haired teen was already seated herself, leaned back comfortably against her seat, smiling with pleasure, with Yumi sitting ahead of her, seemingly rummaging through the class' clipboard. Whilst not entirely distracted from the class president, Mira still wore a single earphone on her right ear, the one facing the nearest window, as the other was free to hear whatever else was ongoing in the surroundings. As the roll call happened, she rose her hand, not too much since it wasn't needed considering she was seated in front of the redhead.
"Present!" She announced, perhaps a bit louder than necessary, though that was only natural considering she had a loud pop melody blasting in her right ear. With her arms momentarily raising up, she breathed in and allowed freedom to an excited shout. "Thank you, Junko-sensei!" Everyone across the car could probably hear it, this including the individual the gratitude was aimed for.
The girl would lower her gloved hands back down, huffing faintly and sliding off her gloves before calmly putting them on the table of the booth she shared with Yumi. She pressed both now freed and pale limbs against a small bundle of marbles present on that same table, deciding perhaps was now a good time to have some light practice with her quirk. A slow wave of her hands upwards was made as the tiny and transparent round objects levitated their way in the direction of the motion of her hands. She weaved them about, playfully, with her arms crossing momentarily, then parting away, almost like she was cooking up some sort of magical spell. And whilst she did all of that, her gaze returns to meet the class president's own, a slightly wider grin creeping up her features.
"Hey, Yumi. Did you finally get to try that costume your penpal was preparing for you?" She curiously inquired, having remembered they spoke about such back in the last time the two spent together at the beach.

A day learning about laws. Existential crisis dawned on Darren today. He was kind of in cop school, when you looked at it from a certain angle. He was just free to choose his uniform and his hours, which was certainly an order of magnitude cooler than a regular cop life, but still. He was a delinquent through and through. He spat behind them and called them pigs and fuck, he had to learn laws like a cop. He found some small measure of comfort in the fact that most of the class wasn’t listening. 1-C really was the best class, he nodded to himself. Though Akio must probably be having a hard-on right now, he mused. He deemed his own idiocy funny and offered himself a snicker of self-congratulation. The day passed, eventually. Darren felt like his brain had been dipped in sewage water and been left there to marinate all day when they got on the train, so he reclined the seat as far back as possible, put on a wool hat he had in his bag -- winter was coming, after all -- and pulled it over his eyes and slouched back with his earphones in, his arms crossed and his legs stretched to execute a high level sleeping in transports technique -- any regular railway passenger knows that’s definitely a skill. He only slept for about ten minutes, and impressively, through Kirk’s voice. It was all the wild tiger, or eagle, or wolf, or mantis shrimp -- Darren had declared a lots of different animals “the coolest” and “his spirit animal” -- needed to perk back up and annoy his classmates again. Of course, that meant he slept right through the roll call, but his presence wouldn’t go unnoticed. Kirk relied on voice to get noticed, but Darren relied on the constant menace of more or less dangerous shenanigans that his presence gave off, even while he was sleeping. He was sitting in a booth across from the new kid with the steel wire hair, and across the aisle were seated Eli, Kirk and the others. The new contortionist girl was sandwiched between them, putting images in his brain. Eli was listening to music on his headphones, so Darren yanked out his earphones, reached across the aisle and pulled the headphones from Eli’s ears and put him over his. He started headbanging exaggeratedly. “Muse, not bad,” he said. “But here is real power.” With a devil’s smile, he gave Eli his headphones back and pulled out one of those portable speakers from his backpack. The kind that were surprisingly powerful for their size. He plugged in his phone, selected a song and let it rock off in the train car. It was as much for the pleasure of music as it was a bait for Junko-sensei. “You like that good music, new kid?” he asked Arantima with a playful smile. He didn’t foudn him a nickname yet -- well, he had a few, but even Darren wouldn’t make jokes at the expense of the blind. Not out loud.

“Haaaiii.”
His first outing as a proper member of 1-C. He calls out in response as his name is spoken, though he sits unmoved – his eyes are still downcast, his posture still slouched. One hand reaches and grabs a bit of melonpan from a bag, fills the void in his mouth left open; the other taps at the screen of a silenced phone, bright and colorful images of a generic anime gacha game.
Schoolyard scraps weren’t the stage where the laws restricting quirks are aimed – for a delinquent hiding in hiding, for a person whose quirk could change his underwear and cook his breakfast, he knows at some level that the law isn’t aimed at him either. Anti-quirkism aside, those laws were pre-emptive, intended not to protect but rather to maintain the delicate balance of power.
The short of it, he thinks as fingers idly tap, is that those laws are aimed at quirks stronger than guns.
It’s an easy analogy for an American – over half the population is born with weapons attached, without permit or training. Beings that exist, beings who are inherently stronger than police, stronger than military, are a threat to order, restrained only by the flimsy word of the Social Contract. Their quirks act as keys, and they rise unrestrained by lock or Locke. For those like Yumi, like Maxi, for those with quirks ripped from manga and put proudly on display, these laws are topical, relevant – expertise is required for daily life. To be ethical, to thrive, to survive at all requires an acute understanding of themselves and their place in the world, where even their existence falls in the realm of the law and that flimsy agreement that keeps human beings civil.
But not for Robin.
A lifetime filled with his quirk, he thinks, of burning and shifting. A lifetime of breaking the law met with only occasional write-ups, sharp words and sharp tongues.
He understands, clearly and painfully, that he’s not strong enough for those laws to apply. If the boy were to go rogue, there would be no threat. Robin is spited solely for what he is – his status and his ability, both trapped beneath sub-human.
Tired eyes glancing up from a screen – he scans the car from his place in the corner, lets his eyes follow a trail of noise to Darren across the aisle, lets those tired eyes narrow and his lips pout.
“You really can’t put down the speaker, huh? I’m not sitting here blasting idol music all the time – maybe other people don’t wanna hear it, Darren.”
And he reminds himself, shuts his eyes and sighs, scratches the back of his neck.
He’s leaving that spite behind.
“Sorry, I’m not looking to get into it or anything. Just turn it down maybe.”

When Akio heard the class was going on a field trip he was excited, especially when he found out it was showing how Tokyo was changing with the introductions of quirks and heroes, it was a subject that Akio was drawn to and interested in, so he had a good time during the trip. However now it was time to return home, Akio shuffled onto the train with the rest of the group and responded when Yumi called out his name during roll call "Yup, here!" he called out with a small wave, not that it was necessary considering he was a giant compared to everyone else, he stuck out like a sore thumb. He ended up sitting in the same booth as Mira and Yumi, Mira had asked Yumi about some costume a penpal was preparing for her "Costume, like your hero outfit? Sounds interesting, what's it like?" Akio asked now interested in the conversation, he was still thinking of ideas for his hero outfit so maybe he could get some inspiration from this conversation, then out of nowhere music started blasted throughout their cart, when he turned around to see where it was coming from he just sighed Of course it's Darren, who else would it be? he thought to himself as he heard Robin tell Darren maybe other people don't want to hear it and then apologized "Don't apologize Robin, you're right, Darren turn the speaker off and put your headphones back in to show a little respect for everyone else?" he asked as he turned around in his seat to look at Darren, he was tired of Darren doing whatever he wanted and thinking he could get away with it "It's been a long day and I'm sure some of us want to sit back and relax on this ride home without loud music blasting all around the train car," he told Darren hoping he'd listen to what Akio was saying and turn the speaker off, although he doubted that was going to be the case

We are the Ultimate And we are the end The day was taken in differently by each of the students, but in the end, it was the same. Class trips weren't always for recreation and learning what was important in the hero world was a good thing as well With the way things were changing and so quickly, the first generation of professionally trained heroes really needed to get out there before law enforcement was completely outnumbered by the number of villains that were popping up. It wasn't the most common knowledge, but things weren't going the best in the world in response to the increase in quirks. The fears of the military on Semper Fi was only the beginning and forces beyond anyone else's control were coming into play.
This was going to be presented to class 1-C on a silver platter halfway through their trip. It would start with a small shake that rocked the train car they were in. It was easy to assume it was a bump or joint on the track that the train was rolling over. But with any thought beyond the first, the students could quickly realize that the motion was unnatural. The train was rocking in a more diagonal motion than the up and down motion one would expect from a bump. something was wrong. This was made doubly obvious as a loud screeching could be heard from where the wheels of the train car were braking on the tracks. And among the screeching was the sound of warping metal as the car became detached from the rest of the train. Their speed was slowly coming to a stop while the rest of the train chugged forth from their car, which was the last one. It wasn't a disaster, but it was definitely problematic.
However, things would only get worse from there. Before the class had too much time to react to what happened, the ground shook again. The rest of the train disappeared from the site and the track a few meters in front of their stopped car started to crumble and break. Before long the train in front of that break started to disappear, along with the ground and even the trees. It was all disappearing from view as all they could see was the sky. What exactly was happening was hard to comprehend from inside of the train, but they were being lifted into the air. And not just the students. The train car, a small part of the track and a massive chunk of earth was all being lifted into the sky. From a distance, it would only look like the shadow of a bird against the darkening night sky. But in truth, a large section of land, about the size of two city blocks, was being hoisted up into the sky.
The movement was quick and sudden, lifting the class high into the sky. Given the clear evening that was present, they would not be among the clouds, but they were high enough that from the ground it looked like they were just some bird passing over the sky. It was colder than it was on the ground and the class would feel the air start to chill before the landmass came to a stop. And as it did, the train car had something terrible happen to it. It toppled over. It rolled sideways off the tracks that it was on and rolled the class with it. It was entirely possible that some students would be thrown from the vehicle as it rolled over a few times before stopping. However, given the slow movements and the relatively free ground around them, the students were lucky enough to only suffer minor injuries at most due to the rolling.
Around there was basically wilderness. Scatter trees and open grass fields to their left with a more concentrated forest to the right. The newfound height the landmass had lit up the ground they were on and would help them see better than when they were inside of the brightly lit train since the glare was no longer there. But with this disastrous course of events, the class was going to have to figure out what happened and how to get back down. And the answer to all that was on this new floating island....somewhere. word count tags whatever

Glad to see mostly everyone…mostly, responding to her register, making special note Alex was definitely still on the train. Not glaring at him or anything but shooting a brief ‘look’, more frustrated that he was still holding her choice of words against her rather than just moving on and maybe at best holding a minor grudge rather than being this much of a pissbaby about it all. Sitting down in her booth, she’d glance to Meri with a soft smile as she played with her marbels, briefly wondering where she’d gotten them since they looked rather pretty. At the question posed to her, she gave a light chuckle, glancing to Akio as he chimed in too.
“Oh er, well to answer you first hun-“ She gestured to Mira. “No, she’s still working on the next upgrade. Apparently it might be a while, and she’s a bit wary about sending it to me too early incase I’m not prepared to handle it with the fact it’ll probably contain less of my quirk at a time. So she’s waiting till I can manage it. As for the ‘costume’” She now gestured to Akio. “Exactly like my hero outfit, my Penpal designs them. She made the first model that made me think I’d even survive at this school. She’s gradually been getting better with each design. She’s REALLY smart!~”
With the loud music playing from Darren’s booth, Yumi winced a little, feeling what Robin and Akio luckily said before her…even if not everyone had, she had very much enjoyed the day and she didn’t wanna end it by seeming like the bitchy class president and being the villain telling people to shut off their music, definitely thankful Akio and Robin would be doing it in her place. Yeah…resting on her elbows, gazing into space, she could definitely say this had been a pretty good day for her.
God had a cruel sense of humour.
The first bump had just brought her from her stupor, wondering what had happened, but kinda just shrugging it off…until the train began to rock. Getting up from her seat, she instinctively grasped the booth seat with one hand and the table of the booth with the other, looking around to her classmates first before the window to see what was…happen…ing…..
Where was the ground going!? She darted towards the window to see what was going on as she was sure at least one or two of her other classmates were. The closed doors between he train cars didn’t make it immediately obvious over the sound of the rocking that they detatched from the rest of the train, but now it was definitely clear. For whatever reason, they were elevating into the sky. Yumi thought about procedure for something like this. Logically everyone should hide under something but…No! She had doubts, yes. Doubts no one in this class full of super powered teens that no one would listen, but briefly rising up, she yelled loudly. “EVERYONE UNDER THE TABLES!”
Yeah odds were no one would listen, but at the very least she’d almost force Mira and Akio at her booth to get down with her. While they were ascending and the train was still rocking, any luggage packed over head, or even just pieces of the train knocking loose wouldn’t be as much of a danger under here. Yumi’s breaths were…harsh, but oddly calm. For once in a good few weeks, she wasn’t overthinking things. Her doubts were there, and they’d BURN her later, but right now she was so oddly clear headed, as if her brain was locking onto what to actually do because it knew she had so little time to decide and obliterated the concept of doubting said decisions.
When the sensation of rising finally stopped, Yumi felt time slow down for her. There was a brief moment of calm..and then the sensation of the train tipping one way more than the other. Her mind raced again, but much like before, one pure, single thought stuck out above the rest…several, actually. This train was tripping, and if she remembered right, the tracks here were slightly elevated so the grass and trees didn’t grow into the tracks. If it fell, they were gonna roll at least a little. Darren would be fine. Arantima was tough, and if he was smart, might magnetize himself to a wall just so he didn’t tumble so much. Miyu…Miyu was useful! Not surprising, just, ESPECIALLY now. She had one hand on Mira, and she could spot Robin down the length of the train. If he was anything like her and his quirk could be set off by a fright, she NEEDED to get to him.
“MIYU GROW!”
yelling out as her section of the train burned a bright blue just as they started to fall, Yumi’s clothes burned away revealing the hero costume she’d taken to wearing under her uniform. Her eyes narrowed for the door at the opposite end of the train, one hand still on Mira, she fired out a single, focused stream of electrical energy, blasting the door off it’s hinges. Feet already curled against the tilting floor, she kicked off, harmless magnetic discharge bursting out from her body as it burned a bright blue, rushing down the train aisle, reaching out with her still free hand and grasping for Robin blindly, HOPING it was him she grabbed and dragging her two passangers behind her as she darted solely for the exit.
Everything after that was a bit of a blur, Yumi crashing hard into the softer grass and dirt outside the train, likely still getting some friction burns, and her disoriented passangers potentially suffering the same, but it was a far better landing than tumbling in a metal cage may have brought. Her body stung, and her mind’s racing state turned to dizziness as she began to calm, looking back to the train wreckage as she hoped everyone had managed to get out of that…like she’d thought…Kirk was hardy…Miyu’s size and Arantima’s weight could have helped reduce tumbling…Darren’d be fine…Alex too probably as much of an ass as he was…she just watched the wreckage hoping her snap decision had been a good one, glancing to the two she’d grabbed in turn.

Of course Akio was bothered by good music, thought the delinquent. Why wouldn’t he be? Robin didn’t like it either. Darren scoffed at the very thought of comparing rock n’ roll with idol music. This was real music, according to the elitist. In his defense, Darren’s dad is a tour manager who brought his son backstage from a young age, where he was fed the whole rethoric that idol music was the real devil’s music, what with their slave contracts and everything. He caught a bad look from Yumi too and sighed. “Fine, fine,” he said. “I’ll turn it down for the tasteless amoung us--” He got his fingers around the potentiometer.
And then, the ground began to rock. For real. The first shock made the delinquent turn the knob the wrong way by accident (for real, i swears, pinky promise) and instead, the song blasted even louder while everyone suddenly felt like they were in an elevator going up.
“And I only get my rocks off, And I only get my rocks off when I’m sleeping…”
Well, their rock was certainly off now. Darren rubbed his eyes. “Am I still sleeping? Is the song making me dream of crazy shit?” He slapped himself. “Fuck, I ain’t. What the fuck is happening?!”
Whatever the fuck was happening continued to happen for a few excruciating minutes, their train car dangerously rocking for a while until the elevator motion came to an abrupt stop. For a second, they thought they were okay, but Darren was very familiar with the peculiar sensation that was hanging in mid-air. He realized a fraction of a second earlier that the train car was tipping. He started getting out of his seat just in time for the first roll.
He jumped to the wall right as it started becoming the ground, using his quirk to reajust himself in mid-dair, and began running down the aisle, stepping on the windows. “ALEX!” he yelled, “SEATBELTS!”, hoping the American would get what he meant if he already didn’t get the idea himself. It was likely that not everyone had the balance and mobility required to do what he was doing and people were likely going to fall out of their seats once the train would be upside down; one row of seats was already above his head and he had to watch out for falling people and push them back into their seat. And while Alex was the first one to come to mind, Mira and Eli could likely assist as well.
Still, Darren could feel the ground rolling under his feet and he knew the train was gonna roll again, likely a few times before it stopped. Which would potentially be very bad if the roads were close to a ravine or something. Someone had to get out and check the situation, and he knew he was the best-equipped student for that mission.
Just as the train rolled upside-down and he jumped onto what used to be ceilling of the car and was now the floor, a blue blot of lighting cracked past him; real lighting this time, not the inoffensive sparks of his quirk. The door was blasted out of the way by the precise shot. Perfect, that was one less thing to worry about. It seemed Yumi had gotten her nerves under control, and thanks to the open door he could thread himself a way through with some quick consecutive uses of his quirk. He shot himself out the door when it was pointing at the sky, propelling him up.
He got a look around while in mid-air and gulped. A sea of clouds was surrounding them. Thankfully, it was far out and the car was rolling on an empty grass field. He spied a figure bolting out of here as he landed himself in the path the train was rolling, backstepping in rhythm so the car wouldn’t crush him. They’ll be fine, he figured. More people probably escaped while he wasn’t looking and Alex was nothing but reliable; he probably came up with an even better plan than his seatbelts idea. Still, it was common courtesy to approach the car once it stopped rolling, pop his head through the door and yell:
“EVERYONE OKAY IN HERE?”

Taking Kirks amount of friends to account, his position was very much so fortunate, with not just seats next to him but a couple turned in his direction as well. It really allowed people to swarm him, and Kirk couldn`t have been happier to know that people for the most part agreed with him! Perhaps that was partially the reason why none of the students outright told him to stop his own way of trying to relax his energetic thoughts. One of said people was a relatively new student, A girl with a slimmish figure named Miyu. He didn`t exactly know much about her other than that. However, just looking at her bending her leg behind her head made his head nod to the side a bit out of curiousity, as he groaned. "Ugh, if Only I knew yoga..." Just one lesson wasn`t enough... besides with his figure, he definitely wouldn`t be able to just fit himself doing that without bumping into everyone else. However, she did have a good point! "Actually, Lemme try something!" Since the girl was alright doing Yoga on the train, she propably wouldn`t mind if he stretched his arm a bit more... He extended his arm over his chest, right over Miyus head, As he used his other arm to bend it a bit forward... A minor stretch, but it was still a stretch!
However, when Eli proceeded to offer him what he had written down (admittedly, one of the main ways Kirk was able to keep up in the written subjects) Kirk gently waved his hand towards him in a minor "shoo" fashion. "Nah, if it ain`t able to keep me interested while they are speaking it out loud over there, I doubt I`ll learn anything on the train while reading it!" He switched the stretching arm, when Alex sat in front of him, and brought up one of the people that was guaranteed to be able to make him listen! "She did!?" Oh god, she was watching the whole time!? He looked around before relaxing his arms and shrugging with minor uncomfortable tone in his voice. "W-Well atleast She isn`t here you know! You`d think she`d come tell me immediately if she didn`t like it, You know!" He was just getting to relax a bit, and now that worrying thought entered his head...
Multiple "heres" echoed in the cart, and some that he didnt even know about, the main thing that filled his brain soon was Darren and his boombox. Admittedly, the song was catchy! But even Kirk had to clean his ears a bit as it boomed near him! However, when Akio and another dude stood up to say something about it, Kirk lifted his hands up. "Come on dudes, it ain`t THAT bad! Could put it maybe a B-"
A sudden bump... He gripped in his hands a bit tighter, as he swung his head from side to side... "W-what was that?" He outright stood up a bit! He scratched his head in confusion as he looked outside... with a loud screech soon echoing around the place! "I guess that explains it bu-" However, at this point it was getting really Bumpy, and Kirk fell back into his seat a bit roughly. "Gah!" He could hear Yumi shouting for them to get under the tables... However, Kirk knew he wouldn`t fit properly under something like that from a train! "Ugh!"
He could only see Yumi pass by, maybe with Miyu in tow, but he wasn`t sure! He stood up a bit again, preparing to run with them! "I am coming dudes! AH!" Only for there to be an even louder Crashing sound, with Kirk suddenly feeling like there was not much weight under his legs! The train car started rolling and rolling... And Kirk reacted accordingly, hugging his knees, and bulking up his pouch just a little bit, as the spinning began... And then there was a strong crash, as his body and pouch slammed against the window, with him falling through it, spinning from the moment, against something cold, and not too soft, landing on his pouch, and rolling forward a bit! "Oof! GAK, OW, PFEH!" After the spinning stopped, he lifted his head up from the patch of grass he had fallen into, dizzily shaking his head... "What the heck happened?" Luckily for the boy most of the glass had just hit his pouch, or gotten pushed out of the way, with Kirk flying much further. The shirt he was wearing was a bit rough looking from the back, but thankfully, no any major cuts were caused...
What did cause his eyes to widen, as he regained his composure, was seeing the train he had been on spinning out of control further away from him... and the only word combo that could come into his mind was something he himself rarely said, but many others in his class used it insanely often! "Oh CRAP!" He pushed his pouch against the ground, to get himself back to a standing position, and proceeded to run towards it! with his arms and pouch wide open, he was preparing to try and catch atleast somebody who had as unfortunate of a fate as him! "NO WORRIES DUDES, I`VE GOT YA!" Albeit, whoever would land into the pouch, would find some surprisingly sturdy sports items stuffed in it, just like the ball from before, forcing him to fall over from the sudden weight increase.
However, as soon as the train finally stopped He would stay on his backside just looking at it all, while glaring at the forests around him... brief chill touched his skin... "Man... Seriously! What the heck happened!?"
