Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
It felt like months, even years since Ryuusei Igarashi had last seen her. Standing at the top of the tallest building in Tokyo Plaza, afresh breeze kept blowing. Strong enough for one to feel it, but light enough for it to be comfortable. Ryuusei's air moved freely with the hair, however, not so freely as it would if he wasn't hearing a black bandana. The large traditional kimono that he was wearing also moved according with the direction to which the wind blew, the darkness of the clothing contrasting well with the sun that still shined across the skyline. No cellphone, no music. Right there it was just Ryuusei, as pure as he could be. He was sure that he was at the right building. He had to be. Having arrived earlier than what it was supposed to he waited for Rinkuse Kurama. What was the last time that they had been by themselves? They saw each other constantly at Yuuei and talked daily via text messages and video-calls, but Ryuusei couldn't say when was that he had been alone with Rin for the last time. He still loved her. Perhaps not in a romantic way, but the feeling still held truth. He cared deeply for the girl, respected her and saw in her the single piece of humanity that he so desired. That maybe the whole world should desire. They had gone through important moments together and they had only known each other for some months. If Ryuu was to trust his life to someone, it would be to Rin. Asking for a meeting at that place was weird though. What could Rin want? He would find soon enough. Until then, he just waited while looking up. At that Halloween day the sky sure was beautiful. Notes: A new Ryuukusu thread, yay!Words: 297.Tags: Rin Kurama

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy It was a small little ploy, which Rin had constructed over the past few weeks. It was all based on something Ryuusei had once said, inspired further by something Rin had said. To witness the stars. To reach them, and bring them back down to earth. To bring them home as a gift to a sister, who had yet to wake up from her coma. How many years had it been. How horrifying must it be for the family, to question whether it was right even keeping her alive. Thus, Rin wanted to help Ryuusei take a small step closer to his dream. To take a small step closer to realizing his promise. In the past time, together with Hachi, Rin had been practicing a few certain skills. Skills that could bring Ryuusei closer to the stars. It was the first time that Rin would be bringing anyone along. It had the girl a little nervous, though Hachi and herself had been training with weighted sandbags. So Rin could, at the very least, carry fifty kilos into the sky. In addition to her own weight, of course. In short, Rin had spent the last few weeks learning how to fly. Creating wings of blood. Embracing the hero name, Crimson Angel.Quietly, the girl walked out onto the balcony, where she had requested the two of them meet. Rin had put in a lot of effort to her look this evening. The girl's hair was delicately threaded with the hairpins Jasmine herself had provided as a birthday gift. To the side, Rin had a large pinkish flower portrayed, several smaller pink pearls dangling from it in small strings. Wearing a traditional kimono, the inner layer was dark red with black and golden markings, symbolizing dragon's and dragon claws. The black seemingly at war with the golden. Around her midsection, the girl wore a traditional obi, or sash, in purple and yellow colors, giving it a nice contrast to the red. Because of the cooler weather, she also wore a kimono-robe, which was in much simpler design. Black, with several purple and pink flowers and flower petals scattered across the design. The traditional sandals clicked against the balcony floor, practically revealing her pressence through pure sound, long before she even turned the corner. Sapphire blue eyes rested upon him. The darkness of the night shrouding him, while Rin remained standing in the light."Good evening, Ryuu-kun. Good to see you could make it. I've got a bit of a surprise for you~" The girl said, in a quiet, silken soft tone, with a short hint of a tease. There was a strange grace with which she carried herself. Almost as if she was floating across the balcony, rather than actually stepping, as the girl left the gentle light of the indoors, stepping into the darkness besides Ryuusei. In her right hand, the girl carried somewhat of a harness. It was just to be put around Ryuusei's shoulders, underneath his armpits, so that if Rin should, accidentally, lose her grip on the boy, at least he wouldn't plummet immediately, once they took to the skies. In her left, the girl carried a medical container. Typically used to transport organs. This time, Rin was transporting blood, her own blood, so that she wouldn't have to wound herself for this evening. It was meant to be an evening of celebrations and happiness - not one of pain and misery. "Say.. How would you like to go see the stars up close?" Rin, still marked by the happenings with Nick, felt a short, painful spike in her chest, when it came to offering Ryuusei a hand. Since that night, all those months ago, large males had a tendency to frighten her. Physical touch from said males frightening her even further......Even still, Rin fought that fear, stretching out a trembling hand towards him. Perhaps he wouldn't see how much she struggled because of the dark?

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
The sun had gone down. In it's place the moon and the stars emerged in a now dark sky. He hadn't been there for that long, but yet it was enough to see the colours above him change. The light that covered him was now replaced by shadow, a darkness that blended perfect with a Ryuusei that was wearing all black clothing. It was as if he was the dark itself. And yet he looked at the small balls of light above. Each and every single star deserved special attention. From earth each star looked the same, but, if one was near them, he could tell how completely unique they all were. Different, but the same. Humas are like stars in that aspect, Ryuusei often thought. He wondered if such process of thinking would be enough for his sins to be forgiven. Wood clashing against concrete. Crashing in a quiet and constant rhythm, His eyes let go of the stars in the sky to shift to the only star that made that planet her home. Yo, Rin-chan, he replied with a soft smile. She talked about a surprise. What surprise could she have prepared that required them to be at the top of a building? He didn't respond, but his facial expression was one of a curious person. He then locked his gaze at the girl's hands. On one, a medical box. As to why Rin was carrying such thing and what was inside Ryuu had no idea. On the other she held an harness, the type one uses when bungee juming, for example. If it was any other person Ryuusei would find the situation extremely weird. With Rinkusu, he felt normal, just waiting for the girl to say what she had in mind. She placed the box on the ground and extend her hand to Ryuu. Then, she talked. See the stars... up close? he repeated with a low voice. How would she do that? Was it possible? Rin would never lay, so if she was making such proposal then... yeah, she could definetely make it happen. He reached his hand back to her her, holding the girl's tiny hand with care. She was trembling. Sensing that, Ryuusei extended his other hadn, embracing Rinkusu's hand with his both. He was holding it softly, as if shelling Rin's hand from the outside world, trying to give her a sense of comfort. Looking at her, he replied. I would, yeah... But how are we going to do that?Notes: ---Words: 417.Tags: Rin Kurama

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin waited patiently for Ryuusei to make his decision. To reach out and take her hand. There was a soft smile on her lips. The little carrying container she had with her own blood, upon hearing his acceptance to the proposal, was opened. The blood flowed out, whirling around in small different shapes. The crimson blood almost sparkling in the night sky. Strangely beautiful, for a liquid that was often viewed so tragically. The blood slowly gathered at Rin's back. Molding, twisting, turning and churning, until it took a form that Ryuusei would be capable of recognizing. Two enormous crimson wings. Rin had studied several flying creatures. Birds, bees, ants. The shape of wing she was more easily capable of replicating with the blood, was definitely insect wings. The downside was, that insect wings could not as easily carry weight. Thus, there had been no other option than to continually keep replicating bird wings, over and over and over, until eventually she had started getting it right. The sapphire blue eyes were closed, as she focussed. The blood seemingly transforming into layers upon layers of feathers, able to let air pass through the wing one way, yet not the other. It all assisted in giving her traction once she began beating them. It took almost half a minute for Rin t o form the wings. Initially, during the training period, it had taken her several minutes to do a singular wing. However, as her mind adapted to the form of the wings, the time it took to create them lessened and lessened. Eventually, Rin hoped it would become muscle memory, something she could do in the blink of an eye without needing to focus. "We're going to fly up there... Here, attach to the harness.. I don't dare risk dropping you." Once he was attached securely to her, the raven haired girl stepped behind Ryuusei, wrapping her arms around his chest, underneath his arms. Then the crimson wings started to beat. He could feel how she began tugging him upwards. How the girl struggled to get the b oth of them off of the ground. This weight was more than she usually carried, but she could feel it. Once in the air, it'd stop being a problem. Before Ryuusei knew it, his connection to the ground lessened. Then, in a wondrous moment, Rin lifted him off of the ground, into her arms and into the sky. With them officially off of the ground, Rin seemed to have an easier time taking them up higher. Wings beating against the cold evening wind, they kept rising towards the dark sky. Towards the stars. The ascent was somewhat slow, yet controlled. The struggle Rin went through was obvious, yet not overly exhausting... As they made it to the part where the air began getting so thin, that carrying them higher would cost too much energy and be deemed dangerous, Rin stopped...Arms tight around his body, the city below them was significantly smaller. The skyline so wide and far, that he could see the sun's ray's at the horizon, like getting to view the sun set for a second time today. Before them, the canvas of dark was unobstructed. There were no clouds in their way, there was no skyscrapers or other light to interfere. The stairs, they seemed so close. Yet, they remained so incredibly far. Breathing softly, Rin spoke to him again. "...This is the furthest I've ever gotten... but if I keep working hard, maybe one day we can bring one of these stars home... For when Yaso-chan wakes up." The warmth of her embrace, the warmth of her voice... Rin wanted to let Ryuusei know that dreaming of a better future wasn't wrong. Rin wanted to let him know that being vulnerable, that making mistakes, would always be okay as long as you tried to make things better afterwards. There would always be hope, and if you trusted your friends, you'd not be walking those dark paths alone.

Dreams breathe life into men. The stars... I'll reach them.
Seeing it happen right in front of his eyes, Ryuusei Igarashi realized that, in fact, this was actually his first time seeing Rinkusu Kurama making use of her own Quirk. He had seen the aftermath of it on the first ever practical exercise of Class 1-A and he also had heard about the mechanics of the Qurik by Rin herself, but this was, undoubtely, the first time he was seeing it in action. Looking at the amount of blood he understood why the girl had brought it from home. It made Ryuusei relieved, not having to see someone he held dearly hurting her own body in front of him; at the same time it made him sad thinking that all that blood came from Rin, that she had to hurt herself in order to do something for Ryuusei. But it was her wish and because of that, Ryuusei wouldn't ask anything about it - it would be direspectful. It was like seeing an artist at work. An angel that had to build its own wings. Knowing Rin, such comparison felt kind of poetic. Looking at the process with close attention, the boy kept his mouth shut until Rin herself decided to say something herself. Then she talked. Flying? he repeated in a question sounding manner. Any other normal person would be very reluctant in accepting such proposal, even with Rinkusu assuring Ryuu that she wasn't going to let him fall. Such fear would have factual basis: Ryuusei was much taller and heavier than Rin. Adding the harness that would be even more weight for Rin to be pushing across the sky. However, Ryuusei's response was a simple word. Okay, he said as he began attachiing the harness to himself. There was no fear or no doubt - just 100% commitment and trust. The ascention was slow and quiet, Thankfully Ryuusei was never afraid of heights: that would've been a problem. As they kept going higher and higher, the class 1-A Vice-President didn't look up once, surprisingly. He just kept looking down, like he was naturally and unconsciously attracted to it. The city looked so small, the world looked so small. How can people not understand how small they are? How can he not understand it himself? Looking down at that bonfire of dreams allowed Ryuu to put things in perspective. It when Rinkusu spoke again that Ryuusei looked up, at both her and the sky... and the stars. Yeah - he began by saying in a low tone - I think that we'll be able to do that. Together. It was calm up there, even if Rinkusu could hold that height for much longer and would soon need to go back to the top of the building. It reminded Ryuusei of the time he and Rin went to the abandoned theatre - it was as if, for some moments, time had stop just for them, just so they could see the stars. WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The two crimson wings stopped beating, stopped carrying them upwards, instead simply spreading to the sides of Rin's back, allowing them to catch the most amount of wind, as the two of them slowly began descending back down to the solid earth. Breathing deeply and faster than before, there was no doubt that for someone as tiny as Rin, carrying anyone to these heights was a significant stress factor onto the capabilities of her quirk, plus the physical prowess of her body. However, now that htey were simply gliding, the pressure was relieved significantly. Through the air, like they were casually sailing on this stream of darkness, the city below them.. There were so many different lights, so many different dreams. Rin was not sure whether what she said next made any kind of sense to Ryuusei or not, it was simply what immediately came to mind. "If the lights down below were all lit by another human, another individual, carrying dreams and hopes for the future.. Then think for a moment how many lives, how many prayers, how many dreams, that heroes have to protect..." Would a million lights suffice to describe this sight..? Rin was not sure. There were so many prayers spoken in Japan alone... These lights were what they had sworn to protect, and somewhere down there, a light for Yaso was shining brightly as well. After having glided for a bit, each moment lowering them from the highest point they ever reached, they eventually made it back to the balcony from which they had taken off. It was a gentle, gracious landing. A deep, stressed sigh immediately left Rin's lips, as she bent forwards, catching her breath once again. Quietly adjusting the raven black hair back into position, the girl was clearly spending more energy creating those wings and staying in the air, than she had initially led him to believe. Re-opening the medical carriage, the girl quietly began disassembling the blood wings, returning the blood to the carriage. "I've still got a long way to go, but.. every day I keep surprising myself with what I can do. This world is a beautiful place... I... believe I am on the verge of finding out a way to wake up your sister, Ryuu-kun. I've put a lot of effort into studying comas, and I think I should... perhaps... be able to reverse some of the things that put Yaso-chan in one."
