Cian had carefully put together a number of group rescue exercises with the opening of Semper Fi. Their rescue facilities were top notch and he wanted to use the opportunity to teach his classes a very valuable lesson. The school year was in full swing and it was time that he provided them with a big challenge. That in of itself was a big channel for Cian. He had to craft puzzles for the students to make creative use of their quirks and put them in a situation where they had t work together to complete the objective. This most important part of this class was learning to work together with people that didn't interact too much. He knew that some of the students knew each other, but he designed the groups to have from different classes. This way he could do his best to ensure they weren't too familiar with each other. It was a fun idea and he had a lot of fun putting together the courses for the students. And naturally, he couldn't help but place little mental bets on how each student was going to handle each situation. The scenario for the final class for the final set of students was a mix of familiar and boring. It was a stage they had all seen before, one that saw daily and knew the ins and outs of. And though to disaster had hit it just yet, it was entirely possible that one day an attack would happen and this skill set would come to great use. The scenario provided by the course was a high school rescue. It was specifically designed to mimic a flood that had washed out a school in Osaka some years back. Tsunamis weren't all that common but sometimes their effects were far-reaching, Cian himself remembered what happened and watched it for the results while he was in jail. It was one of the events that spurred him to become a firefighter in the first place. Watching what could be his family wash away in flood waters worried him far too much and he decided to move away from his more dangerous gambling habits after he was released. The students here was to rescue nine mannequins within the school that was much like the mannequins they handled in the previous rescue classes. They were to be placed on a marked off location on a wooden platform that had the student level with the second floor of the school. It was right next to the starting point the students were supposed to gather at. The entire first floor of the school was flooded with neck-high water. But unlike normal flood water, this one was clean and fresh. It was but a simple simulation after all. One of the mannequins was floating around in the girl's locker room. I was stuck with its leg trapped in a locker door that was stuck as well. The room was slowly filling up as the flood waters rose on the entire first floor. And soon enough it would be completely underwater. It along with the other mannequins on the first floor needed to be saved pretty quickly. In about five rounds they would be completely covered in water and two rounds after that they would drown. Another mannequin was in the middle courtyard that the school surrounded. It was an outdoor common area in the center of the school that students could walk around it. Right now, however, it was basically a big giant pool. It was completely inaccessible from the first floor and the water level wasn't high enough to reach the mannequin from the second floor. The students had to figure out some way tog et it closer to a wall and up out of the water to rescue it. The last mannequin that was on the first floor was int he cafeteria. It was tangled in a mess of folded chairs that made it hard to move through the flooded halls and doors. As time went on, more and more chairs attached itself to the mass and after a while, the weight of all the chairs would bring the mannequin down under the surface of the water and start of have it drown. On the roof of the three-floor school was a tall shaft like a chimney. A mannequin was tied snugly to the top of the chimney. It was out of reach and the went chimney was too slick and smooth to climb up. However, the base of the chimney was weak and the thing could be knocked over if the inside of it had some force applied to it somehow. The outside of the chimney was sturdy enough to withstand an attack, but the inside was where the instability lied. Another mannequin was locked in a classroom. A vending machine had fallen over and blocked the door. It could be moved provided the students released the wheels that allowed the vending machine to be rolled away. To do that, the students had to solve a small puzzle on the face of the machine. A small ball needed to be moved up a slop fro one side of the panel to the other. However, the puzzle was encased with durable clear plastic with a small hole at the top. It was too small to fight a student's hand inside, so touching it was too difficult. Something else had to be used that had enough force to push the ball up the slope into the socket on the other end. Alternatively, if they had another way of forcing the vending machine away from the door, that would work as well. On the back end of the school was some scaffolding that connected the second floor, third floor, and the roof of the school. It was an alternative path up and down the different floors. And on that scaffolding was a mannequin. Its hand was clamped between some metal on the scaffolding and it needed to be carefully removed. Since the scaffolding was weak, too much force or any kind of explosion near it would cause the whole thing to collapse with the mannequin still trapped on it. trapped in one of the offices on the third floor was another mannequin. The door was sealed with a special puzzle, much like the one in the vending machine. A small disc sat in the corner of a wooden puzzle maze. The face of the maze was covered with a glass and the disc had to be moved through the maze without letting it touch the sides. If it did, the door would buzz and the disc needed to be placed back in the corner to reset the puzzle. The disc could be touched, but only when it was in the starting corner. The rest of the time, it had to somehow be moved without touching it until it reached the finish line of the maze. Should it make it to the end, the door would unlock and the mannequin inside could be rescued. In a hall, a row of classroom doors were locked and couldn't be opened to be searched or checked for mannequins. In one of them, a mannequin was sitting at a desk, but that couldn't be discovered until a mechanism was set off. That mechanism was six targets scattered around the hallway. They all had to be hit in rapid succession one after the other to unlock the dors and allow the rooms to be searched. The final mannequin was stuck int he ventilation system. All a person needed to do was navigate the small cramped space to grab the mannequin and pull it out. It would take some time to move through the space and it was quite tight, but nothing impossible. Breathing could get a little difficult because of how small the space was, so a slow pace was recommended for it. The class will end once all mannequins are rescued and brought back to the safety zone, or time runs out (the event ends and the topics closed). This is not an exam, but a class. Students are here to learn and practice, not compete with the other squads to do things the best way. Mistakes are allowed. The important thing here is for students to learn to work together for a common goal. Aside from the stuff in this opening post, the topic and setting are free to use and proceed as you wish. If you have any questions, contact me on the discord. From this point on the student shave free reign and I will not be replying to the topic unless needed for something specific and by request. Have fun with it!

phantom grip Semper Fi.
For a class to be hosted during the time of its opening, it meant things were about to get real serious. Way more serious than the last rescue lesson. Mira would have to be working together with two other students of different classes as well and that only made her the more excited. To have the opportunity to see, meet and get to know different faces, perhaps make friends out of them. It would just be the best, right? What if they liked parties like her? What if they were just as outgoing as her? If so, such called for quite the fun time.
Yet, there was nothing fun about their exercise.
Once she arrived at the desired location, she was almost instantly able to deduct exactly what the scene of their session was. The state of a high school following a massive flood of sorts which was able to fill up almost the entirety of its first floor, only growing by the second. Many mannequins were scattered across the facility, all in different places within their respective floors. Some were in classrooms, others were in the courtyard and hall areas, offices and even on the rooftop. It was big!
"Woaaah...! Sensei really did step his game up, huh?" The teen voiced in amazement and fascination, starting to slowly stroll her way over to the main entrance where she thought was the first step they had to take. To actually make way inside the school. Though, of course, she was still going to be working together with others. She knows nothing about their quirks, nothing about them at all. Only that they were also in the heroics course and most likely had some type of quirk which allowed them to be enrolled.
Thus, for that time, she awaited their arrival. Upon such happening, a confident smirk would creep up across her features whilst she turned in the direction of her rescue partners. "Sooo...! I know we gotta be as quick as possible with this, so I'll do a short introduction!" Mira joyously states, being a complete contrast to the actual scene behind her. After a deep breath, she commences with her own presentation. "I'm Mira! I'm from 1-C! For my quirk, think of it kinda like telekinetic force. I can touch objects and have them levitate as long as they are within a certain weight limit. Then, with that, I can manipulate and control them almost like I'm holding them with my own hands, though, in this case, I do it from the distance!"
She would have tried to be as brief as possible, explaining to them the most important and basic parts of her quirk. "What about you guys? What are your quirks like?" The girl inquires in the end, curiously glancing from one to the other, or probably just one, if one of them would have been unable to arrive.

After making them for the rest of her class, Ericka was going to have the chance to show off her costume for the first time. None of them were final. In fact, Ericka's was actually really simple. Some changes here and there needed to be made, but she had the general idea of it set and going. And just after the majority of them were made, their rescue teacher Cian Glave gifted them a chance to show off what they had. It was a glorious opportunity and a convenient way to learn something interesting and get used to the costume she made to see that could be improved. With Semper Fi opening up to those with quirks her school was gifted with a chance to use the base's facilities to help prepare a generation of heroes. Ericka's experience with the military was purely from the standpoint of a civilian. She only really knew from what she heard on the news and what was portrayed in the media. She knew that it wasn't the most accurate thing, but she didn't have any other basis to go on. Learning that the military base had a massive facility for rescue training really made her respect them. Knowing that they not only protected the lives of their citizens from foreign threats but also help them in disasters was a heartwarming thing. SO when she arrived on the base to make her way to the rescue class, Ericka had a big smile on her face as she watched the soldiers do their thing while she was taken to the rescue training grounds on the base. As for what she was wearing, costume her, it was a two piece set even though it looked like it was all a single piece. She wasn't actually wearing the whole thing since she didn't have the equipment for it just yet. The top was an all black leotard. It securely hugged her body and curves to leave her able to move freely and acrobatically without too much trouble. Ericka was a girl with a larger than average chest, so it was important that her top half was secure and she was free to move how she pleased. The bottom half of the leotard cut off at on her hips, but the bottoms she wore covered that space. It left a small window between the two where her skin could be seen. Like her leotard, the pants she wore were very tight and snug on her body. These had a much more refined design. The color red was etched around the cloth to give it a distinct look and feel. It allowed the bottoms to seemingly seamlessly flow into the knee-high boots she wore to complete the set. The current iteration of her costume left her arms bare and lacked the holsters for her guns that she wanted. And, of course, as she always did, her hair was cut short and adorned with a red hairband with a ribbon tie on the left side. She arrived on the scene with one of her two partners present. A purple haired girl by the name of Mira. Despite being the class president, Ericka's didn't have much interaction with the other classes. She mostly knew of her own and getting the chance to meet the others was going to be a fun one even if it was just for class. She seemed like a nice person and was quick to introduce herself. It was quick and informative, which made Ericka respond with a smile and a nod. "That's quite a nice quirk." She expressed before taking her turn. "I'm Ericka Nicolai, class president of 1-B. My quirk is t fire energy bullets. Only from my fingers at the moment though." She explained. As she spoke, she held up her hand and put her fingers in the finger gun position to further demonstrate what she meant. She didn't bother "loading" the gun since it was just an explanation, but the whole thing would make more sense once the class started. "Seems like Glave-sensei really put a lot of effort into our course. Let's all do our best alright?" It was going to be an interesting activity for sure.

phantom grip "Ooh, that's a really cute costume!"
The late teen obviously made sure to comment about how fascinated she was with the uniform that one of her fellow squad colleagues had been adorning. It was quite the contrast between herself and the other girl after all. Whilst the latter wore something more proper for the kind of exercise they were about to have, or at least something that would properly gift her with some sort of advantage, Mira had merely come out in U.A's gym clothes.
Well, no one told her that she could come with a costume. Neither does she have anything like that. It would all end up the same way.
Quirks and names where shared, and there was already some willingness to work together. Seeing that their other colleague appeared to have been inactive, it seems like it was not going to be the work of a trio, but instead of a duo. She only hoped that everything would work out well. "Ahh, you're 1-B's class president? Woah, haha! You must be really talented then!" To know that she was going to work with a class president, she thought she was quite lucky. This proves why her partner came out with a hero costume.
"Soo... Nicolai, right? It's nice to meet you!" Mira replied upon the other's introduction, commenting on the fact she was her class' president first before actually showing her gratitude for meeting such an individual. Whilst the blonde wasn't exactly the most extrovert person, like herself for example, she still made it clear that she was willing to give the challenge her best. That was enough to make the Yuugami excited and filled with adrenaline. "Yup-yup!" She exclaimed and flashed all of that hysteria boiling within her, throwing a fist up in the air to prove that she was ready to proceed.
"In we go!"
And as Nicolai showcased the same readiness, Mira finally made her way forth, heading towards the entrance of the flooded educational facility. She was going to get all soaked today, but that only made things more appealing to her. No innuendo intended. If her fellow partner had anything to say or had any immediate strategy in mind, now was the right time to announce it.

Erica let out a light chuckle and shook her head. She didn't know if she was as skilled as other people in her class, but everyone kind of felt like she was the responsible one. At least, that was the vibe she got from some of the other students. Then again, voting was done at the beginning of the school year before there were a whole lot of students in the class. Things probably changed now, but Ericka hoped that everyone still had the same confidence in her that they had at the beginning of the year. "I think they just wanted someone to shove all the responsibility on." She joked. Sure, there were extra things she had to do, but Ericka enjoyed it. Taking care of her class brought about a nice peace that had an odd enjoyment to it. And with quick introductions, the two of them were off. The final class member didn't show up, so they were going to have to pick up his slack as best they could as they did the course. Following Mira, Ericka made her way toward the building and kept an eye out for how they could proceed forward. "I think we should take a quick look around first. Finding who we need to rescue as just as important as rescuing them right?" She asked, throwing an idea out there to see if her partner liked it at all. The platform they were on was going to take them to the second floor of the building, which meant much of the first floor was flooding. If any of the mannequins were down there, it was important that they got to those first before the first floor completely flooded. Pointing downward to draw Mira's attention to it, she spoke up. "If we split up and find some stairs, we can loop the first floor really quickly and see if any are down there. If the water gets too high we won't be able to save them right away." She explained. Her reasoning was sound, but if her partner had another idea then Ericka was all ears.

phantom grip Her partner could joke and showcase an outgoing demeanor, after all. That was great, it only made Mira the more excited to be working with someone like her. At this point, she even wondered if they could actually end up becoming great friends. After all, befriending people from other classes was always good in her mind, it meant that she didn't have the need to make enemies. The late teen doesn't intend to see the other classes as foes, after all. Maybe a little bit of competition was always fun, but in the midst of it all, strong bonds are formed.
"Or maybe because they thought you were cute enough to represent the class!" The late teen teased back, normally not the one to make such sneaky comments, yet she couldn't hold the urge to tell Ericka right in the face that she was actually rather adorable in the young Yuugami's eyes. I mean, one has to always praise when one feels like it's the right thing to do.
Though, now, they had to head over to the most important and serious matter at hand. The flood. Even if it was hard to notice, they could still tell that the water kept on rising and that it wouldn't stop. In no time, the first floor would be entirely filled up and all of the poor mannequins residing within would be drowned and unable to be saved. They had to act quick, and now was the right time. No more time for chit-chat. Mira realized they should have never started talking in such a friendly manner in the first place. But since it wasn't exactly real and it was just a fictional rescue, she didn't acknowledge the true danger at first.
Hopefully it didn't blatantly show her lack of caution.
The purple-haired teen nodded at her partner's idea. Right now, it was the most immediately viable one in her view. "Sure, we can do that! Just don't be afraid of getting all wet, heh!" Mira teased once more, hinting at the fact that she herself wasn't too bothered about having to take a dip in order to save the lives of the people flooded within the first floor. It's part of a hero's work, after all.
"I'll see you in a bit! Stay safe 'til then!"
And with that, she rushes in, making her way to the second floor through the platform where they had started their rescue. Across and around she goes, merely in a desperate attempt to find some stairs. As she passed by, she'd notice some mannequins in need of aid. Whilst she couldn't ignore them, she also had to think about those in greater danger, such as the ones down on the first, already half-filled floor. And finally, she discovers what she needs.
"Mnn... Alright, here I go..."
Even the stairs she found weren't safe, some water already filling it up. She knew if she went down, she'd be already struggling to touch her feet to the ground. But there was really no way of getting rid of the water, was there? She had to go through it. And through it she goes, not bothered by the thought of getting all soaked as the teen looks at the ground all the while, making sure there were no obstacles in the way. Her feet, legs, waist, chest, and neck, all get covered in blue as the girl pushes her way forward. "... Oh, it's clean..." Mira mumbled to herself upon realizing that the water wasn't actually sea or sewer water, but yes as if someone had poured down water from a sink.
Still, it was not warm.
Her head quickly turns from side to side as she seeks for any mannequin in need of help. She thought she'd be faster if she instead went on swimming instead of having to push herself through all the water. Matter of fact, she felt it only starting to rise up even more by each passing second. At one point, she'd have to take on paddling anyway. Mira also made sure to hold herself to any structures if she could, to make sure that she herself didn't get washed away if somehow more water came in. Obviously it wouldn't, since it wasn't an actual real flood, but she felt working as if it was not fictional was the best way to go.
Eventually, the young Yuugami found a mannequin seemingly stuck on a locker, deep within the girl's locker room. She rushes in at that point, using her feet to push against a wall and gather some momentum to close the gap much faster. "Stay calm, stay calm... You'll be alright, I'm gonna save you, okay?" Mira spoke, all at the same time practicing her speech to know what to say when a true situation like such arises in the future. Her hands rummage through the door to see if she could get it unstuck. She attempts pulling it at the handle with all the strength she could muster, at one point using her feet and knees, pressing them against the locker. It took some time, but ultimately she was able to work something out. "Ugh... It's almost in my mouth..." The water kept on rising up, no more only reaching her neck, yet making its way up to her chin.
In a swift grasp, she takes in the mannequin with her, once more using whatever support she could use in her environment to prevent herself and the doll she carried from having their heads submerged. Even from just that, Mira could already feel herself getting more and more exhausted. Finally, she makes her way up the stairs and to where she'd be safe from the water, completely soaked, infinitely dripping water from her gym clothes, skin and some of her hair. She lowers down the mannequin, placing it in a seated stance.
"Huff... I wonder how Ericka's doing..." The purple-haired girl thought to herself as she looked around some, relaxing, inhaling and exhaling, attempting to recover as much energy as she could before moving straight back in to rescue the rest of the mannequins in need, all the while pondering on her partner. 16 y/o | 167 cm 1031 words
