Mia had been a bit skeptical when the military base opened it's doors to the public. As a rather prideful quirk user, the militaries intentions while pretty outwardly stated just didn't sit right with her. Opening your doors in the hopes of getting quirkers to enroll...as much as she used her own quirk for combat, officially soliciting the idea, especially in a line of work designed to kill and suppress...yeah.
Still, if anything that just piqued her interest, and sauntering into the base on one of the later days of it's opening, she'd made herself known pretty sharply as one of the local heroes wanting to know what was going on here. Seeing potential in an already verified hero they wanted to give her the full treatment...which in all honestly meant Mia had to 'endure' about an hour of speeches on why military enrollment would be so good. How you could travel the world, work with tight knit teams (As if she'd ever share the glory with people riding on the back of her own power and skill) and of course, the training and discipline. The latter she didn't care for...and the former..
"HAH!" Sitting at the back of the room, actually using two of the smaller chairs pushed together, with her feet hoisted up on the back of a third infront of her as some of the higher ranking soldiers gave her their presentation, she rolled her eyes and reached up, grasping her horn in a tight hand, her right arm bulking up with the motion, revealing the muscles her body could hide when she wasn't actively flexing. A moment ago a strong but feminine arm replaced by something bulging with muscle. "Looks guys I appreciate you trying to sell me on this crap your trying to peddle, but I am Red Horn. I could take any of your pathetic foot-soldiers any day of the weak.
This had easily incited something. The two officers looked between eachother, and back to Mia, the blonde shifting herself, legs spread, hand on her knee as her elbow rested on the other, leaning closer with a cheeky grin as she wondered what the two were thinking right now...
In time, she was facing six whole soldiers, the lot of them brief on the situation, but still rather unsure what was going on. The blonde giant before them however could only bare her small fangs with a wide grin, cracking her own neck to either side with a sharp twist, the loud sounds almost seeming to echo in the open training center. Her eyes drifted to the small pews filled with people who'd freshly come to see the fight, some just wondering what the fuss was about, others more informed.
"Aw chief, you seriously got me an audience?~ Ain't worried your gonna be embaressed?~" She almost stuck out her tongue to make her point, looking to the officer to the side as the two shared a borederline glare. He shook his head and turned to the audience.
"Ladies and gentleman, as some of you know, quirkers are becoming more and more difficult to deal with. Some are good and help us, others use their talents for villainy and terroism. Here today I will show you with proper training and preperation, even the most powerful of quirkers will submit to military might. Our volunteer, Red horn." He dismissively gestured to the blonde, who was pumping a fist into the air to a brief sound of cheers from a few fans of hers in the audience. "Will be demonstrating to the best of her ability, what a trained quirk user can do against a trained squadron of military force..."
His eyes shifted to the blonde, looking at her with derision.
"You may begin."
Mia tipped her chin up, then flashed her eyes to the audience, winking at a few of the girls and even cheekily kissing the air in their direction before turning her eyes to the squad before her, realizing fast they'd tooken the go ahead from the exact moment it had been given. A soldier was up in her face, diving for her shoulder and trying to force her down onto her back as he hugged her bicep. Rather than battle against the force thrown into her, she wheeled back and threw her arm with the implemented momentum, tossing the soldier off her arm and towards a wall, feeling the weight of what felt like a headbutt into her revealed side against the squad, sharp red eyes turning back to the soldier that had rugby tackled her, but with her own heels digging into the ground, she ended up moving no more than a few inches, slamming her elbow down into the helmet they were wearing and feeling satisfied as their chin hit the floor.
She tried to focus on the remaining 4, but this attack was much more coordinated. Her arms were taken, one by each shoulder, her eyes twitching as they were pulled apart and forced back to try and remove her options to fight, while the two remaining soldiers charged her opened front with an attempt to finally knock her off balance and pin her. A dull numb pain formed in her forehead as her horn grew and her muscles bulked, all but roaring as she threw herself forward and tossed her arms with her, catching the charging soldiers between their two buddies, and slamming down a foot on the dog pile of soldiers she'd created, standing atop it like a conquered kingdom as she opened her arms and faced the crowd.
"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?~" She roared, speaking specifically in english and hoping that phrase was known enough that it'd be recognized in japan. The officer that had organized this all growled under his breath and made to leave as Mia ate up the crowd's reaction, knowing a majority of them were quirkers, she walked up to the pews and just...soaked in the applause.
"Remember guys, no matter what fuddy duddy old fart tells ya, you make it your own and your quirk'll hold up against anything they can throw at ya!" She slammed her fist into her palm, and cracked her knuckles with satisfaction. "Now, I'm still feelin' pumped up! Anyone wanna see if their quirk can do what 6 fuckwads couldn't!?~"

Yeah, skeptical is one way to put it... Kanna always felt cynical towards the army, seeing it as a place where people pretty much go to kill and die for their country, to become simple expendable pawns of those in power. Blind obedience will do that to a person... At the same time, she also fully understood how the desire for military supremacy bolstered many great advancements in human society, though the advent of Quirks seems to have ground that to a halt. Indeed, technology progressed just about nothing in the last 50 years, not when people relied on Quirks for just about anything... Perhaps the military hoped this little publicity stunt might bring the spotlights back to them, and yet after so many (failed) attempts at humiliating her, she only liked the army less and less as time went on. She too wanted to know what these guys were up to, their intentions and training methods, and most of all, their technology. But on the other hand, the sheer frustration of dealing with them also meant she spent most of her time around the combat area, hoping to find a couple stress relieving exercises revolving around beating up smug army boys. Not today though, today, she'd been drawn to the odd, self flattering lecture of military combat training, and there she stood at the entrance, leaning against the wall, all but rolling her eyes with every words: "Good grief, do these guys even listen to themselves...?", she grumbled, not so much annoyed but exhasperated at all the unwarranted self importance. She ran her fingers under the edges of her white sportswear, yet letting the warm track jacket loosen down somewhat as she scarcely paid attention to the boring, bullshitty lecture. Thankfully, she wasn't the only one to think so. When that huge, boisterous woman spoke up, everyone's eyes were on her, Kanna's included. She knew who that was of course, pro hero Red Horn, the type you'd expect to have muscles for brain... At least, Kanna got that impression before actually seeing her, and naturally wondered how well that impression might hold up. For now, she defenitely enjoyed watching her flex harder than the hopeful army boys, daring them to actually try and take them on. Oh, please do... Her lips widened into a faint smile as she crossed her arms, eyes shifting to all the other soldiers nearby, so much she could almost the unease when staring down her challenge. "Now this I wanna watch~", mused the blonde, all too amused as the situation played out before her eyes. Red Horn and her challengers headed for a small ring outside, with all the interested onlookers following suit. Kanna stood away from the crowd, separate for the crown of fawning men and woman, climbing atop some crates and crossing her legs, having claimed herself a pretty sweet vantage point. Other soldiers and quirkers copied the blonde's idea, and the stage had been set. Once the battle began, Kanna narrowed her eyes and hung on every move. "One down...", she mumbled as the first tackling solidier got instantly countered. Smart, using an enemy's momentum against them. Red Horn had no real training in martial arts, judging from her form, which only made it all too embarassing for the soldier who got tossed over the shoulder like a ragdoll. Even without martial arts, the Oni's strength and experience made her more than a match for JSDF greenhorns who'd never even seen a battlefield, "Two..." Each of those blows could easily fell greater men than these soldiers, Quirk or no quirk. In a matter of seconds Red Horn took down two foes, and the more she counted the knockdowns, the more Kanna liked what she saw. She'd been subverting these guys and their hopes of embarassing her for over a week now, but Kanna wasn't a pro, let alone famous... Nobody would pay attention to anything she did... But here... If this woman kept embarassing the army like this, Kanna would come out a very happy girl. And finally came the last four soldiers. Realizing the foolishness of their buddies, they coordinated their efforts in downing the overly powerful Oni: Two grabbed at her arms, while the last two came in. "Fucking idiots...", Kanna shook her head, facepalming as these supposedly trained men couldn't tell they had no chance in a contest of strength, no matter how many they were. Against an opponent this large and powerful, they'd have been better off staying light on their feet and whittling her down. But the army's pride was their greatest weakness, their belief in their superiority made them sitting ducks. Once they all charged in haphazardly on a stronger opponent, it became all too easy for her to simply swing her arms out wide in a pincer attack, smashing those last two with the ones grabbing her arms, in a display that made even Kanna's eyes widen slightly, "Wow... All four of them down with one counter. Not bad..." Hearing her roar like that after making a show of embarassing all those army boys all but sent a pleased shiver down her spine, leaving the blonde grinning all too happily at the show. Oh yes, she very much liked this hero. Kanna didn't so much believe in heroism per se, but that didn't stop her from appreciating some of them, and right now, Red Horn had just climbed a few notches, courtesy of the blonde Hacker's loathing of the army and their looking down on Quirkers. And them came a hero who didn't give a rat's ass about any of that, and showed them just how pitiful they looked against one who had truly mastered her abilities. Her words hit home far more than anything she'd ever heard from the army officers, even as they trained Quirkers they'd probably have them suppressing their abilities, using them only as weapons of war as dictated by one's superior, and not like an innate part of their bodies. Hell no... No way she'd ever agree with this view, though she didn't really mind showing just the tip of the iceberg, of what her Quirk could do to all their weapons of war. Such as the kind of eager vibe she got from Red Horn anyway, and in this showdown she found far more interesting lessons than she ever did in the remainder of her time at this military base...

With her arms open to the audience, Mia spotting a few avid, borderline stalker like fans in the audience as she waited, wanting at least someone be brave enough to take her up on her offer, but while she was smiling from the adrenaline kick still, her smile was faultering and her brow was faultering, her eyes dipping back to the pile of groaning men she'd left behind, gesturing to them and smirking back at her audience, many unsure who she was, but those even barely recognizing her eager to watch, but not so eager to fight themselves. "Aw come on guys, you all scared cause of what I did to these losers? They ain't shit!" She grinned wide again as she put on some bravado, clapping her hands together and opening them back up over the audience. "I'm gonna guess at least most of you are quirkers, and let me tell you this. I may be strong, I may have trained, I may be a bonafied badass by self earned claim-" and no one could deny she was her own biggest fan- "But ANY one of you, who has a quirk flowing in their veins, is worth not just 6, but ten of these losers!"
She looked around the crowd, stepped closer, and gestured to a rather hefty kid wearing glasses. "Hey bud! Your quirk, gimme?" She made an eager gesture for him to give up the details, and it was clear he was a nervous fellow who'd just been caught off guard. Still, Mia's eagerness was hard to say no to, and he cleared his throat to nervously speak up.
"M-my name's erm...s-stanzuki...and erm...m-my quirk is to erm..." he lifted his glasses, rubbing his sore eyes, though it was clear he wasn't crying or the like the moment he pulled his hand down. "I-I can transfer my poor eyesight to someone else temporarily...wanna see?"
Mia's eyes widened, smirking genuinely as she was a little impressed by the uniqueness, clapping her hands again and gesturing a gimme motion once again. "Hell yeah! Gimme some!~" The hefty kid took off his glasses, and blinked at Mia a few times. To everyone else Mia suddenly seemed a little dizzy, snickering as she tried to look through her new eyes and the world being naught more than a fuzzy mess, while the boy clearly could see without his glasses, chuckling a little at what Mia had subjected herself too. Behind Mia by now the disgruntled soldiers were leaving, the quirkest officer shuffling them off and not wanting to watch the freak show. "Hell yeah! You can blind opponents, you think any of those fuckers can!?" Her vision cleared up and the boy seemed a little more confident, Mia pointed to another audience member, a rather thin girl with raven hair.
"You! Quirk!"
She seemed a little more confident, but just faintly unsure, and she opened her hand to generate a black flame. Mia was already impressed but grew even more so as it was explained. "I-I can't make much, but I can make black flames only I can put out...u-unless someone knocks me out." Mia quickly lifted her head to ask-
"Can it spread?"
The girl nodded and closed her hand, the flame dissapearing. "Yeah, but only the source points are black!"
Mia clapped and gave her two big thumbs up. "You can burn out your enemies or trap enemies in rings of fire girl! No wonder you're proud bitch! Now come on! I don't care what you think about your quirks guys, I wanna see even one of you put up a fight those soldiers couldn't, so who wants to come at me!?~"

Yes, Kanna definitely wanted to try this woman on for size. But at the same time, she had a problem. Red Horn wanted a battle between Quirkers, and the tattooed blonde really had no way of satisfying that desire. Even then, she wouldn't mind watching her fight it out another round or two, and for that reason held on to her seat, watching with some interest as the Pro Hero tried goading someone, anyone into joining her in the ring. Indeed, Kanna could tell how even with all the fans, the Oni indeed stood at the top with all that boisterous confidence. The hacker hardly disliked that mind you, especially after watching her steamroll all those army boys. Would someone fight her though...? Would anybody here have the stones...? The blonde kept her eyes peeled, leaning in as Mia approached one dude with the interesting ability to give people bad eyesight. Interesting. And how about the tiny raven haired girl...? She had a very impressive ability, so much her eyes widened at the notion. Flames that can only be put out after knocking you out? While pretty sure she'd seen that in some anime, she most certainly understood just how obscenely powerful such a Quirk could prove. At the same time, Kanna couldn't really back down from a challenge like this. She hesitated not out of wariness towards her opponent's level, but against her own inability to show these boys how a Quirker fights. "Tch... What a hassle...", grumbled the frustrated Kanna, resting her bent arm over one knee as she looked at her surroundings, hoping for something, anything that actually allowed her to stand up to this fight like her fighting spirit demanded. Had she found nothing, she'd have most likely wound up simply stepping off her perch and turning this into a simple melee, her martial arts versus Red Horn's raw power. Yet the thought of doing so made her clench her fist, noting how there was nothing really Quirky about them... But once her eyes fell on some mechanical tentacles used to lift heavy objects, that scowl vanished entirely, and the amused smirk came back: "Fine... I'll tussle with ya.", the blonde spoke up, pushing off her perch and landing cleanly on the ground. She rubbed her shaggy blonde hair, and finally rolled her elbow, those piercing, spirited eyes of jade locking on to her soon to be opponent. Along the way, she removed her jacket and walked up to a piece of military equipment on the floor. A complicated contraption; a harness with two mechanical tentacles poking out of the back, plus two armrests with complicated controllers, undoubtedly essential for controlling the tentacles, and most likely insufficient for the purpose. Unceremoniously, she strapped the harness to her back, much to the chagrin of the military man tending to them. "Oi, oi, what're you doing girl...?! Those aren't built for fighting!", complained the engineer, suddenly growing concerned over what might happen to the seemingly expensive piece of military equipment. Indeed, for most soldiers it wasn't... They'd trade away the use of their arms for tentacles they couldn't really control well enough to react Quickly.
But Kanna was different. She had no issue with the weight, after all, she'd been carrying a much heavier backpack for the better part of three days earlier this week. Even then, she immediately disconnected the heavy controller, dropping the bulk of the added burden onto the ground with a thud. "Are you an idiot?! How do you expect to control it w-", the man whined reaching for Kanna's shoulder to pull the harness off her, only to be stopped by a moving tentacle between him and her, three pronged grip wide open in a telltale sign. At that moment, sparks flew off Kanna's body and the tentacles moved without any visible input. Her smile widened as she attached herself to the equipment, swinging them around and acclimating to moving each two meter long appendage like an extension of her nervous system. Then and only then would she walk into the ring, grinning like a child with an expensive toy, answering any questions Red Horn may throw at her: "I'm Kanna, and I can control any electronic I touch.", she'd tell her, taking a few steps forward and stepping into the ring, punching one fist into her open palm as the tentacles copied the gesture above her, "That alright with you, yeah?"

Jostled between sweat and bodies in the middle of the gathered crowd, it’s hard for Robin to consider coming here as anything but a mistake. Loud and uncomfortable, hot, miserable – it’s barely worth seeing the spectacle on stage.
‘But it is worth it,’ he thinks to himself.
The previous day here had been humiliating, he realized.
‘That loud-mouth idiot with the speakers hitting on me,’ the scene plays in his mind, a fresh wound in his pride, ‘and that soldier beating my ass were bad enough. But the girl I talked to, Yumi – letting her find out the secret of Some Like It Hot is - ”
And even the memory is enough to have him burn with shame.
“Embarrasing...” The only word he mutters out loud.
‘The worst,’ he thinks, ‘the only time I’ve ever let myself slip in public like that, and it was right in front of a classmate. And it’s dangerous – she could tell everyone, the whole school, and I’ll just be…’
Those thoughts shaken from his head, pushed aside with force
He had run yesterday, retreated home to his temporary housing. Scrubbing mind and body, trying to forget – scrubbing until only one stubborn stain stayed.
‘You’re the kind of person who runs away, aren’t you?’
Ryouta’s words, clear and crisp and biting, painful. Words that made him bite back in turn, angry, disappointed in himself.
And so he’d come back, returned to the base after food and rest and sleep, after suppressing his better judgment, and found the hero making waves, the American champion Red Horn picking fights with the JSDF, brawling and smiling. A Pro Hero, here and real.
“Any one of you who has a quirk flowing in their veins is worth not just six, but ten of these losers!”
Her words hot and loose in the air, boi
For the doubt in his heart, maybe she can be the symbol of something to run toward. A future he wants rather than a past he doesn’t.
The two fighters on stage, quirkers with natural born gifts like distorted reflections of the other.
Despite himself and his carefully crafted persona, he feels his heart jump a little in excitement.
WORD COUNT: 365 NOTES: Just ignore me in posting order - mostly wanting to establish motivation and all that good stuff.

Finally seeing someone willing to take her up on her little offer of a sparring match, Mia could immediately sense the spunk in this cheeky little blonde as she hopped down the boxes. Her state of attire and the spikey look of her hair all read as someone who enjoyed putting themselves forward and putting themself into a few situations on the street. Whether those were just taking the chance down a rough alley, getting into a fight, or visiting a few clubs, that was all up for debate in the red eyes of the oni girl, and she was excited to see if any of her assumptions were true.
What she hadn't actually expected as the blonde to head off in a completely different direction. By now the sergant she'd humiliated by trashing his men, and said men, were scraping themselves away from the battlefield so the engineer who'd been in the room warning her about touching the equipment was the only official really left, and Mia was just more confused than anything as to why she was dealing with this. Especially when she tossed away the controls for the items she was inspecting. What exactly was she going for here? Was she gonna club her with the robo hands or something? As she seemed to pull the arms onto her back however Mia's eyes only widened, her grin widening and getting excited to see what this girl could do in action.
"Niiiiiice!~" She let out a low, impressed whistle, her position still very lax and leaving herself open, though as far as she was concerned the battle had started al the same, she just wanted to be sure to get in a little bit of banter while she could, gesturing to the arms on her back now as they moved as well as real arms could. "Damn girl what is this techno magic? You one of them...ah fuck...what they call ya..." She snapped her fingers, trying to get the idea in her head before smirking wide. "Tek-no man-sers! Thats the one!~"

The blonde could only marvel at what the wonderful language called binary, and how stark the contrast between her ability and her opponent's. Any machine could speak it by something as simple as an on or off switch, and once you put in millions of those switches, you could control machines of infinite complexity. And with her Quirk, Kanna could control them all. On the other hand, the perfect example of how devastating a straighforward ability could prove: Super strength... Perhaps the oldest superpower ever conjured by the minds of men, coveted by Kings and warriors in a quest for might, boasting an equally endless potential. "Mmm, I just talk to machines, and they obey.", Kanna nodded, looking almost as excited as the other blonde. She found the label descriptive enough, though not without a amused chuckle as the strongwoman struggled to look for it. She wouldn't mind giving Red Horn the details later if she felt curious... But she defenitely wouldn't reveal all her cards in front of this crowd, "Yup, you can defenitely put it that way." That said, Kanna had never actually tried controlling a piece of equipment like this before. Right here, right now, she too was breaking new ground and perhaps the massive Oni might soon figure it out from the way she used it. Taking a distinctive, clearly defined stance of a practiced martial artist, she shifted her weight between two feet, bobbing slightly.
"Iight, let's see what these bad boys can do~", declared the grinning teenager, all too eager to face a challenging opponent while playing with a new toy at the same time.
With the added weight on her back, Kanna couldn't fight as light on her feet as her usual, but with those metallic tentacles waving in front of her almost like an extra pair of fists, she had a different edge: Range. As she approached her opponent with quick steps, she'd step inside the ideal two meters distance from her opponent with a swift dash, and jabbing with the first tentacle, leading into a quick string of attacks.
Indeed she used her new weapons pretty much like a boxer would use her arms: Right, right, left, right - two jabs, followed by the dominant left cross to the head, and finally a right body hook.
She actually put her shoulders behind each hit as if she might be throwing actual punches, for no reason other than allowing herself to pull her tentacles back a bit faster and making it easier to chain one punch onto the next. More importantly, it kept her body loose, in constant motion, ready to react and counter to whatever attack the woman might retaliate with...

“Talkin’ to machines eh? Maybe you can get my office microwave to stop being so temperamental when this is over.” Her fight banter starting early, now Mia was really starting to prepare for a fight her, lifting her arms and lowering her stance, mainly squaring her shoulders as she prepared for what was potentially coming. Her fists clenched tight enough for her nails to lightly dig into her palms and her grin growing all the same, preparing for this little bit of metal Mayhem to come her way. “Dunno what you’re sayin’ to those hands, but they certainly seem eager to help you out.~ Hope they at least gotta buy ya dinner first once we’re done here!~”
Snickering at her own implications made there. As Kanna came in she was briefly distracted, and compared to the bobbing motions of the smaller blonde, Mia’s was much more tight, preferring to tank blows and power through them rather than dip and duck around them. With the approach of Kanna, Mia raised her arms at the last moment, feeling a deep sting on the back of her arms as she incorrectly blocked the first attack, even the skin of an Oni not holding much contest to metal in a one on one match. She winced and grit her teeth as she pulled her arms down, eyes deep red and burning with a battle stoked fire.
As the following strikes came in, the tentacles showed one disadvantage when used in such a style. With such a long distance to travel, even Mia could dodge and dip around the sharp blows, shifting around them with her golden mane flowing behind her as she did, and finally, her arms stretched out to catch a left ‘hook’ that had been thrown by the tentacle, wrapping her strong arms around the metal, and with all the force she could muster behind her.
She began to spin.
Following the weight she was putting through the tentacle, she had to use her feet to begin with, but as she gave into the weight and shifted her own to pump out the momentum, she was soon enough spinning around with the tentacle in her arms and Kanna likely stuck to the end of it, the blonde’s eyes locking onto a few padded mats on one of the walls that hadn’t been placed on the floor today. She counted 2 more spins, and released at just the right time, sending Kanna flying into the padded pile.
“Might wanna be less predictable next time sweetie!~”

"Perhaps...", chuckled Kanna, withholding any information related to her software based limitation. She wouldn't mind telling Red Horn about in private should her interest hold firm, but not in this setting, with all too many ears she knew little about. As her foe got just fired up as her, Kanna couldn't help but narrow her eyes, seeing nothing but the opponent before her, sparing little concern for what came after, "Oh, I'll be thankful enough if they keep this eagerness up the whole fight." A steady stance for a tough, heavy opponent few strikes could actually move... Somewhat to be expected, and yet expecting made it no easier to get through that imposing guard. The impact with the Oni reverberated all the way through the tentacles, enough for Kanna to feel it on her back. Yet she attacked relentlessly, which eventually allowed her foe to counter and grab one of the tentacles. Kanna clicked her tongue, realizing her miscalculation. Keeping these things so close to her body would slow her down... Noted...
At the same time, this outcome had indeed been predictable... But not in the way Mia expected. As an expert on trapping moves herself, Kanna fully understood how the quickest way for an overpowered enemy to deal with her tentacles was simply to grab hold of them. It really was a matter of time, and she already a couple ways she could flow into from many of such holds.
When Mia actually spun her around though, Kanna actually winced at the sudden, overpowering G-force swinging her around... Thankful the tentacles had more than enough power to tense even under this mighty centripetal force. Thus she let the other tentacle hang low - close to the ground - digging into the thick mat and grabbing onto it for traction; at roughly half a meter from the opponent.
Hardly an ideal solution, but it got the job done, holding firm where Kanna wanted it.
So then Red Horn spun, she'd unwittingly force that grounded tentacle to coil around her feet, bringing Kanna closer. Regardless of whether or not she released, Kanna would eventually pull on that tentacle to trip her foe off her feet, not too keen on being pulled within one meter while her titanic opponent kept her footing. Thankfully the Oni beat her to it, and when she released the hacker, that tentacle tightend around her feet and pulled her along. To keep the two from falling atop one another, Kanna reflexively gripped the released tentacle into the ground beside her, deep enough to pivot on it and hurl Red Horn into her own throw, swinging her in full circle on a fully extended tentacle: "Yeah, right back at you.", retorted a dazed and brusied, but otherwise healthy Kanna as she completed her counter, finally standing back on her feet. She'd flung red horn into the same mats she targeted - that way fully exploiting her foe's momentum - with her own arms echoing the swinging motion performed with the tentacle. She couldn't do this too often, being thrown around with all this force defenitely took a toll on Kanna's back, even with the harness. Tch... The metallic tentacles may handle it, but they clearly hadn't been designed to push and pull a user around. Something else to watch out for as she awaited her opponent's response...

Feeling the sudden tug at her ankles, Mia was definitely surprised by the fact she was the one who ended up getting thrown, but her immense size and weight compared to the average person meant even her own throw didn’t send her too far, hitting the mats on the floor rather than those against the wall she’d been aiming the girl at, rolling a small distance before digging in her elbow to make herself stop, and working her way onto her feet with a chuckle filled breath, wondering how the girl managed to pull that off, and certainly impressed to say the least. She worked her way to her feet, cracking her neck in either direction and lifting her fists.
“Smart move, won’t happen again!~ I ain’t too smart but I am certainly one hell of a quick learner!”
This time Mia rushed in, digging her steps into the matt so hard that a thud could be heard through the soft material, stomping towards the other girl and throwing in a fist, then another, moving with surprising speed as the strength behind her punches showed as speed, grinning all the while. She knew where to aim to not do any serious damage while still inflicting a whole lot of pain or rendering someone just ‘out’, but for a student like Kanna she was certainly holding back just a little. Her brawler attitude having to be reigned back so she didn’t go too far till she was sure what this spunky looking blonde could handle, striking again and again, trying to move through layers of metal tendrils to pound through to the blonde woman beneath.

Her reaction worked fine for defense, yet the counter left much to be desired, falling flat long before Red Horn even left the mat. On some level she should have expected it considering the woman's weight, and her own lack of knowledge of the Tentacle arms' capacity for throwing heavy loads. From what she knew, they'd been designed to pick and carry, not toss... Yet at the same time, she valued a far bigger gain from this fight, more so than the military gear she'd have to turn in right afterwards. Right at the first exchange of blows, the fighting spirit, the pressure oozing off her opponent pushed Kanna to think outside the box in a split second. And she knew she's get stronger the longer they fought. "Quick learner huh? Guess that makes two of us.", replied the blonde, taking her stance, ready for round two. This time, her opponent beat her to the punch, charging forth, and barely leaving Kanna with time to even take a quick, dashing step back.
Slightly increasing the distance as that behemoth of a woman charged in for a wild right fist, Kanna thankfully had time to bring the tentacles closer to her body for a tighter guard, timing her counter attack with her foe's constant speed. No doubt she'd try to break through the metallic tentacles, and she most likely could with that brute force...
Kanna knew only one thing for sure. A woman that strong needed only one good hit to beat her. Thus by the time she reached that danger zone just over a meter away from the smaller blonde, her right tentacle swept out to that side, readily snaking around the oni's attacking right forearm, coiling around it and deflecting the large woman harmlessly towards Kanna's side. At the same time, Kanna kicked off to her left side like a matador sidestepping a charging bull. But like the good martial artist she was, she didn't so much defend from attacks, as she intercepted them, unleashing her own counter in unison with her defense. While pulling Mia away from her, the coiled tentacle would also pull her into her own momentum, likely knocking her off balance: Made easier with the left tentacle moving in tandem, stretching downwards into a straight attack to the side of her opponent's right knee, making it nearly impossible for her to stay on her feet. The right tentacle loosened soon enough after either executing her counter or failing, shooting forward as well for a direct, snapping strike to Red horn's temple, aiming to stun her if nothing else. In any case, Kanna would seek that ideal two meter distance stepping back, strafing as she unleashed those quick jabs, whittling down her foe's toughness instead of letting her control the fight at point blank.

Mia continued her charge, indeed like a raging bull, swinging her arms and thrusting them wildly as she tried to land a hit, but the blonde was definitely pretty light on her feet. Mia found it hard to find anyone who could meet her In a display of brute strength, but that’s exactly why she liked speedy, agile opponents. They offered far more of a challenge and it was very difficult for any of them to be boring. They could be a little frustrating perhaps, never allowing her to land a hit, but that was the challenge. One good hit and she’d probably win afterall.
As she was side stepped like a bull, she glanced off into the other direction, the still existing crowd cheering on the smaller blonde who was guiding her about in this little dance of a battle. Mia felt she should have been insulted they were cheering for her getting beat in any way, but instead her grin just grew. She was proud for the girl she was fighting, glad to see a young quirker had such potential, but she wasn’t about to let them get away with this so easily this time. While the coiled limb had helped guide Mia where Kanna wanted her, it also left Mia herself with a big opening. She steadied herself the moment her charge stopped, so used to it by now that it wasn’t hard for her to stop even when an opponent side stepped her like that. The tendril that went after her right knee stung but she grit her teeth, grasping the length of the tendril coiled around her so it couldn’t escape so easily, and tugged hard with both arms. This time she didn’t intend to send Kanna spinning, but just tried to yoink the girl towards her in full.
If successful, she’d rear her head back and try to land a headbutt, in such a way of course that her horn wouldn’t impale the other girl’s forehead, instead using the lower part of her forehead and the rounded underside of her horn to deliver the potentially devastating blow, hopefully with the force of her own head behind it and the tugging momentum she’d put on that tendril. It wasn’t a great plan by any means, but it was certainly her plan.

Grabbing this woman. Bad. No doubt Kanna might try doing so again at a later moment if pressed, but so far, it hadn't turned out too well for her. As sweat dripped off her forehead, the far more serious blonde felt that strong pull and realized her foe's intentions... Yet even then she couldn't help that grin from appearing in her face more often than not, despite how often Red Horn replaced it with gritting teeth. When yanked off her opponent, the left tentacle immediately moved behind her foe, perparing an escape. For now though, after getting yanked off her feet and pulled towards her opponent, Kanna needed a way to turn this around, and only got it by lifting her right knee at the last possible moment, driving it into her foe's torso with full force, aided by Mia's own power. With that thick tentacle obstructing her sight, she'd probably not see it until it was too late.
She thankfully had kept her guard up, but even then defending against that sudden headbutt came far too slow for comfort. She'd nonetheless manage to spin her left elbow inward, hoping the knee would have slowed her opponent down, intercepting that headbutt with a powerful shot to the temple, deflecting the blow and preventing that horned head from hitting her square. Any lesser opponent, and this would have been lights out. Even if Red Horn could withstand it, a blow this powerful could easily leave her dazed and staggered, though Kanna herself didn't far much better after colliding with her foe at full force. She'd set up her tentacles in advance for this though: No longer than it took her to hit her opponent would the left tentacle have snaked around Red Horn's left arm, guiding the smaller blonde behind the Oni. Sliding her right arm around Mia's neck from behind, she hooked that hand behind her left elbow, locking the woman inside a rear naked choke. No matter how big they are, no opponent can resist having the air choked out of them before passing out.
"Hnnngh...!", with a strained grunt, she squeezed the tall woman's throat between her right arm while pushing her head forwards with her right hand. The tentacles squeezed hard on her bulky arms in turn, mustering every ounce of force they could to control them, not perfectly, just long enough for the choke to weaken the Pro Hero while preventing her from grabbing Kanna and tossing her overhead.

Mia’s only conscious thought was the sensation that she’d just been staggered, her brain viewing herself like a video game character who’d just been stun locked, the weight of her own tugging motion thrown into her torso by that raised knee initially catching her off guard, than the final blow against her temple knocking her head up off center and feeling her brain rattle for a moment as her eyes glossed over, unable to really take in the world around her. Her body was swaying to one side as her brain tried to recover from the rapid series of counter and reaction attacks from the girl before her, and before she knew it, Mia had an arm around her neck. She reached for it instinctively but a tendril stopped her first arm, and the other didn’t quite have the strength to take Kanna off of her just while she was dazed. She could probably do it normally, but in her dazed state she’d lack the skill to do it without probably dislocating one of Kanna’s arms in the process.
As the oxygen refused to get to her brain and she dropped to her knees, Mia oddly started to chuckle as she felt herself bordering on unconsciousness, tapping out by clapping her hand against the other girl’s bicep, chuckling to herself and waiting for her to ease off, gasping for air as she got the use of her lungs back and chuckled even more heartily after her first deep breath, pushing off the floor and looking at Kanna with one hell of a smile, the crowd a bit silent from the fact Mia had clearly lost, but she took it in stride, slamming Kanna on the back before taking her wrist and yanking her hand up into the air so high the smaller girl would need to be on her tip toes as Mia presented her as the winner. “Give it up for…er…-“ She pause and looked to her with a smirk. “Got a hero name kid?~”

Her submission turned out far more effective than she initially expected, as a plan with far weaker odds of success than Kanna usually felt comfortable following. A high risk, high reward plan, the only real way to surmount such a titanic wall, a demoness of a blonde who could shrug off most of her light hits and keep her in check more often than not. Kanna pulled and squeezed, and finally relented when her opponent dropped to her knees tapped her arm in surrender. Success...! Wait... She won?! Despite the panting, triumphant grin drawing on her lips, Kanna's widened eyes revealed a good measure of surprise, for she too had felt the gap between hers and her opponent's strength. Though not intimidated by it and defenitely fighting her damndest to win, she doubted she actually could unless Red Horn went easy on her. Yet the kind of hero she pegged for a proud sort like herself just stood there with that big grin she always had on television, slapping her back so hard Kanna had to take two steps forward, feeling her hand yanked up high into the air like a victorious wrestler, and promptly asked for a hero name the blonde didn't really have. Having joined Yuuei to train her Quirk first and foremost, she paid far less attention to the actual heroic aspect, and so far had yet to think up a name she'd feel comfortable giving: "Uhh, not yet actually... Kanna will do I guess.", she replied in an uneasy admission, eyes turning away, idle hand scratching her temple, finally taking in the gawking eyes of all those people. She hadn't taken her eyes off Red Horn since the battle began, and now that she saw this, well... Even as a shut in who hated attention, something visceral resonated within the confident hacker at the sight of the admiring audience, making that smile on her face widen further. In the end, no matter what Mia said, no matter how the crowd responded, she'd eventually look up at the towering woman and ask with genuine curiosity, brow furrowing all too slightly, "You... How much did you hold back?" It was a mixed feeling really... On one hand, she just beaten a Pro Hero, one of the few she had a measure of respect for, something filling her with a swelling of pride. But knowing she'd only done it against an opponent holding back frustrated her, a deep dissatisfaction, even if she rationally understood she'd have stood little chance against a serious Red Horn. Lest anything pull the proabably busy hero away, Kanna would much rather stick around and talk with her some more, casually removing the harness from her tentacles and resting the contraption down on the ground, leaving it for the engineer to carry them away or whatever.
