WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Exactly how could anyone have condoned this line of thinking? Granted, the military was there to test out quirk users, specifically the students at Yuuei. Trying to see how the army could accomodate these enhanced humans. Whether there was a purpose, a reason, a meaning, behind utilizing them in the ranks. It was in these means that the proclaimed number one student had been given a completely unreasonable task. The villain, the land-shark creature, that had been causing havoc in Tokyo park, resulting in the deaths of several innocent civilians, had been captured by the military, now to be used in researching the capabilities of quirks. Rin could not understand how this had come to pass. For all intents and purposes, the shark was still like them, the students at Yuuei. A human, a living, sentient being. Or at least, so Rin had initially imagined. The whole spiel was, that the shark had no sentience. That he was a wild, unrelenting beast, that proved just how dangerous quirk users could be if left untamed. Shuddering quietly, Rin had arrived at the location she was meant to be. There, at the scene, to greet her, was none other than Colonel Kazuo Masanori. From the way he was looking at her, with a stupid smirk on his face, Rin already felt less than welcome. Bowing her head in a greeting, he took a step further towards her, towering over her like some giant looking down on an insignificant insect. "Rin Kurama, the supposed top ranked student, eh?... Gear up, get in, we're running some 'tests."' The orders were barked at the raven haired female with an intensity that made her shiver. Looking at him sideways, the girl replied meekly. "Y-yessir." Stepping over to the indicated equipment. A simple vest to protect her torso from damage. Simple boots, to prevent her feet being ripped off if the shark stepped on her. That is all she was afforded as protective equipment. The Yuuei tracksuit she wore underneath almost offered more protecting than what the army had deemed neccessary for her."We've captured a dangerous beast. In the park, you 'heroes' were not capable of preventing a catastrophé. So, you're here to prove that the best Yuuei has to offer wouldn't have made a goddamn difference. Capture the beast with your skills. Scream for help if you need the big boys to take over." The colonel was mocking her openly. Mocking Yuuei, mocking heroes. Rin was not sure exactly what was going on, nor why it had taken this unhealthy twist. All the girl knew, was that the agenda here seemed to be anything but testing quirk users. It was to prove exactly how incompetent and useless quirk users were compared to the military. This man was fully expecting her to get destroyed. Yet Rin could not reply with anything substantial. This was their hometurf, their rules, their little game. Yuuei had given a response. Rin had shown up... Now this morbid task was her's to complete. Gear equipped, her fingers curled up into small, angry fists. "Yessir." Stepping into the cage, the door behind her was shut, locked, chained. Judging by the bars, they were made of iron or steel. Breaking out by force would take a bit of work at the very least...With the rings she had gotten from Jasmine as a gift, Rin cautiously sliced into her arms. Wincing softly, it seemed that no matter how much time she gave it, she'd never get used to the pain from hurting herself. Neither of the two self inflicted wounds were currently bleeding. Rin had prepared herself. From what little she had seen of Darren's fight with the shark, she knew he had struggled. If Darren was as strong as he boasted he was, then Rin would be in for a tough fight. The rankings of students... Rin didn't feel it had anything to do with her current skills as a hero. Heck, she didn't even know if it accurately summarized her potential... That ranking was only getting her into more shit, more trouble... For now, she waited. Waited for her opponent to show himself.

"Move it, you fucking animal!" The orders barked from a soldier, a nameless one at that, deeply devoted to the heartless Colonel himself, to the captured land shark. Its situation was simply awful, to say the least. Chains around it's ankles, arms, neck. A muffler made out of stainless steel was attached to the chains on his throat, to keep it from snapping and biting.
Pulled by dozens of soldiers and forced ahead by whips, in some sort of cruel show, the monster was finally pushed into the arena, the door behind him locking itself. One press of the button and now, the chains' electric system snapped right off, completely freeing it. How had it gotten there? Why was it there?
It had been shortly after the events that transpired at the park. When it assumed that the bad people were gone, that he was safe and could be in peace, it commited the grave mistake of emerging. The rumbling, mixed with the fact that its gargantuan body was now clearly visible were all that the army needed to hunt him down. In that terrain, only foot soldiers and their vehicles made it and, in what was a three hour continuous battle, littered with dozens of deaths from the unprepared squad, the beast was subdued. Dragged back as a morbid trophy for all to see.
Experiments soon followed. Once it was safely from further harm, the medical staff, lead by the specially insane lead doctor were quick to take some of its blood, inspect the teeth, eyes, fingerprints. The conclusion was simple: no existing records of him anywhere. For all legal intents and purposes, he did not exist. For the better, since they would research this being extensively. The first thing they'd do? Their modified QED. To see its effects, they injected the being with proportionally large amounts of it and, while it recovered from its dazed state, was pitted against Rin Kurama, to create a show good enough for the Colonel: Quirkeds going at each other.
Finally, back to the beast itself. In streams, it was one thing. In person, it's so much worse. Massive in size, a towering behemoth over double Rin's size, with stomps that shook the very arena they stood on. Of rugged, contrasting blue and red coloring amongst its body, it clearly showed years upon years of battling: there were, in total, thousands of scars, from hundreds of different sources. One shudders to imagine the past that the being carries with it. Progressively, it went from aloof, even sleepy to agitated, to angered, to murderous. A deafening roar of rage itself escaped the thing's mouth, claiming the arena as its territory and dashed straight to Rin. Faster, stronger than before, though, with a slight caviat. It somehow seemed even more unhinged and stupid than when it fought Darren..

It wouldn't have been far-fetched to say that Colonel Kazuo Masanori was something of a sadist. Sure, on the outside, his life seemed set. A loving wife, a daughter with a fully paid scholarship to MIT, a son with the highest grades in War School. A large house, a couple of Labradors and German Shepherds and a white picket fence. The perfect life for a man his age, really. But the reality of the situation was much, much more dire. His wife hated his guts, his daughter wanted nothing more than to get away from him, and his son had used him as an example of somebody he shouldn't ever aspire to be. Hell, he was pretty sure one of his dogs was dying and termites were probably eating through his house right at this very moment.
But the Colonel didn't really give a flying fuck about any of that. He had given his family a stable foundation - what they did with that was their call to make so long as they didn't bring shame down upon his name. He had a rank and reputation to maintain, and only over his dead body would he let his bitch of a wife or ungrateful offspring ruin what he had worked for his entire life.
Part of his experiments, part of what he considered 'par for the course' of his job in the military, was exactly what he was witnessing now. The changing of a generation. The spawn of the Devil himself, fighting each other in a cage meant for animals. He scoffed; this was the best place for them, really. Hopefully these two would just kill each other off by the time this was done.
"Sir," Yoshi Miwa had called, garnering his attention. She was always a good subordinate. Calm, collected, obedient. Never questioning a single order and carrying them out without a shred of remorse. Clearly, she was better at being a soldier than a whore under a desk - she had proven that much during the first week she was assigned under him.
"Where is that ingrate Hideaki?" Masanori barked, his eyes narrowing as the Sergeant stood at attention.
"Up above training those animals. He is not aware of what is happening here," she supplied aptly, her composure steeled.
"It better stay that way," he said, eyes glancing back through the safety window he was behind, "Brig anyone you think would squeal." Another order, and the woman was on her way already. Moments later, Kazuo Masanori looked at his hand, a device in his grasp. This one was to the shock collar around the disgusting beast's neck. Three buttons. One for more drug. Another for a shock. And the last one for an explosion strong enough to rip its head off. Had he not been curious, he would've pushed the third one without so much as thinking about it twice. Then again, like the sadist that he was, he was likely waiting for the shark to capture the girl before he held on the second button for a tad too long.
Fight each other, you lowlife scum, he thought, glaring at the two 'combatants' with nothing but contempt in his eyes. The doctor had said this modified version of the drug was enough to make the damn thing go rabid. He would see the extent of this. Maybe, just maybe, they could devise a weapon to subdue these creatures like the dogs that they were, enslave them to do whatever the hell they wanted. If Masanori was able to present his contacts with something like that, the government should have no qualms doing what he thought was only right. Quirkers were not meant to walk these streets freely. They were meant to be used as weapons against their enemies.
They did not have human rights, nor should they ever have them.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The shark was, compared to Rin's frame, enormous. Almost twice her height, the sheer mass of the beast was probably more like ten, fifteen times her body weight. The shadow it cast long, wide. Every step almost shaking the ground as they were introduced. The beast had a collar around it's neck. A contraption clearly meant to keep the military in control. Such a shameful display of inhuman indecency. The way the shark was portrayed, brought in, framed, Rin was almost forced to forget that this, was in fact, a human being. Taking a deep breath, the girl was about to introduce herself. The girl was about to ask for his name. At the very least, Rin had wanted to know whom she was fighting against. Rather than being afforded either of these two options however, something seemed to infiltrate the shark's mind. A desire to kill, a desire for blood. Rin could not tell if this was the behavior of the shark, or something else. Either case, unless she wanted to be chomped like the innocents in the park, she needed to actively get something done to avoid a worst case scenario. From the opened wounds, blood poured forth at an alarming rate. Creating an immediate barrier between herself and the shark, the water based predator would find it impossible to penetrate, even if tackled with his full strength and weight. With that little head to head at an end, Rin had confirmed a couple of things. First, the shark was definitely looking to kill her if it got the chance. Second, the shark could not overpower the strength of her quirk.."Calm down. They're making you out to be a beast, but you don't have to fight like one.." Speaking calmly, quietly, Rin was doing what little she could to try and bring sensibility back into the human she knew existed in the shark somewhere. Albeit, it may have all been for nothing. The laws in Japan, especially regarding quirks, were rather strict. The being in front of her was a wanted murderer. In many respects, it was strange how he had not been issued the death penalty already. Whether he died as a beast, or as a man, made little difference. The end result would still be the grave. At the least, Rin would try and end this quickly, so that his suffering was a bare minimum.Gesturing with her hands towards the barrier of blood, the barrier would attempt to push the shark backwards. Filling up a vast majority of the cage, so as to give him very little room to manuver or escape. Continously pushing him backwards, Rin was trying to pin him against the bars of the fighting arena. If Rin kept being successful at pushing the shark backwards to the wall, Rin would attempt wrapping the blood around the bars, essentially hardening him to the wall of the cage. All the while, Rin was trying to inspect and categorize his behavior. The way that there had been a sudden change in attitude was worrying. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." Perhaps, this sheer display of raw power might've worried someone else though. If the military had expected Rin to be immediately ran over, they were in for a shocking revelation...That girl was strong.

The beast was clearly outmatched in power, put up against Rin Kurama's incredibly developed quirk. A wall that blocked him off completely from continuing to charge at her, he did something that was stupid: even for the beast itself. While usually, the beast would quickly figure out that it had to circle the wall just as it was made, it instead repeatedly slammed its scarred head into the wall, a miserable, non-stop show of its fury.
Nothing was stopping its struggling: the way that the thing's feet dragged across the ground, the way it kept ramming its horns upon the wall until, by the second bash, they painfully broke off. Its headbutts that refused to cease up, even if it winced and roared in pain every single time it did so. Finally, while Rin began pushing the shark back, with its feet dragging through the ground non-stop, it was successfully pinned to the cage walls, struggling even more viciously than before. It didn't even seem that evil, malicious. Its eyes were almost blanks, unfocused and quite genuinely scared. Its wailing and roaring was one of pure desperation, if one were to be tactful enough to hear it. It fought for survival, out of desperation. It didn't know why it fought, it just knew that its body forced it. It just knew that if it didn't fight, it'd die.
Looking directly at the young Kurama, her power having opened way to actually slowly get through to it, the monster was slowly calming down, though instinctively shaking and struggling against the wall, to try and waste the overwhelming energy it was being plagued with, even quieting itself for brief moments before letting out.. whimpers. Quiet, scared whimpers, pleading for Rin's continuous mercy. The QED that had been forced into it was still not enough to knock the sense out of the beast: its vitality and size was simply that massive. While it had its lucidity, if Rin were to get close enough and remain friendly, the monster would finally mutter its first words to the first person in so many years. "I'm.. scared.."
Nothing else, nothing more. All that it confessed was that it was scared. Confused, forced into things it didn't want to do. Just wanting peace, away from the evil people who threatened it, it was captured by armed evil men who now wanted it to fight and kill the first small person that was friendly to it. It was unfair, he didn't want to do it again. He didn't want to kill innocent, nice people again! In its despair, the monster also.. weeped. Sour, miserable tears slowly streaked out of it, while its body still spazzed, struggling to get itself free, even after all that.

At first the Colonel had almost seemed giddy, what with a fight brewing and all. His vision would come to fruition - two Quirker bastards fighting it to the death. A dry, triumphant laugh could be heard rumbling in his throat. The girl, likely no older than sixteen, could control her blood. Her blood! She could use it to inflict harm upon others. No human being was supposed to be able to do that. None. In the older man's eyes, that made her inhuman. Some creature wearing the flesh bag of a human, pretending to be one of them. What an utter eyesore.
He had hoped that his little experiment would perhaps dwindle that confidence that she seemed to fantasize about. To know her down a peg, bring her to her knees, to beg for forgiveness from the one monster that was seemingly her kin. But, despite what the man had wished, this utter maggot was too weak! Try as the damn thing might, he couldn't break through a wall of blood. Pathetic, he growled, his hand gripping the device in his hold so strongly it threatened to crack under the sheer force.
"Now, now, Colonel. Compose yourself," a voice called out for his attention, making the greying man turn to notice none other than the mystery himself. Tanaka Greyson, the elusive Corporal who seemingly had all of the answers to everyone's problems. Yet where he received these answers was a mystery to anyone. "One more outburst like that and you're going to have an aneurysm."
"Shut your mouth, you snake," the older man barked back, utter venom in his voice. None of the kids would be able to see the two military men. As far as they were concerned, no eyes were on them. They were alone, fighting a fight that had begun drawing to a desperate and utterly dissatisfying close.
The Corporal, for his part, could only snort with mild amusement at the predicament the Colonel found himself in. Oh how far men with ambition but no vision would fall. Shaking his head, a sly smile was on his face as he approached his supposed superior, "That portable device in your hand, we made sure it had the right dosage," he informed, smiling. "If you were to to apply more of the magical drug medical had supplied, I'm sure you'd be in for the show you've been waiting for."
Masanori's eyes narrowed at the other male, "We, Corporal? How do you know of this?"
The younger male barked out a laugh, "That's going to have to stay my little secret, sir," he cooed, his smile ever in place. "Now, press the button, Colonel. The needles in the shock collar are impossible to detect. They'll pump the beast full of the drug and, well... if it doesn't die from an overdose, which is albeit likely, I'm pretty sure that'd even out the playing field. That's what you want, isn't it?"
He grit his teeth, such impudence! he thought, infuriated by the way this lowly Corporal addressed him. So many times he had considered getting rid of this maggot. So many times he had looked for ways of doing it, yet coming up with blanks every single time. So many goddamn pages torn out of Greyson's file. This man was a mystery; an utter enigma. Frankly the Colonel wasn't even sure Tanaka Greyson was his real name.
But, for what it was worth, the Colonel knew he had a point. If there was one thing that would do the trick, it would be the drug. Turning back to the cage, he hit the switch. Four needles would burst into the beast's neck; painless, completely untraceable. They would amp the dosage by nearly three times, and if the beast couldn't put up a proper fight then, then this would be an utterly pathetic turn of events. --------------------- NOTE: ALL OF RIPPER'S STATS GET AMPED UP TO RANK D FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS FIGHT SHOULD NOTHING CHANGE FURTHER.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The beast was slowly being coralled into a corner. Slowly, securely, harming the shark as little as possible, Rin began locking things down. As the shark headbutted it's way into the wall, Rin carefully, continously, softened the edge of her blood, so as to take some of the self-harm the shark was doing, minimizing it. Once finally at the wall, when the blood was hardened completely and Rin felt she had everything under control, the girl drew a loud sigh. Rubbing her forehead, she looked at the shark with nothing but pain in her eyes. There was meant to be a person in there. Yet all that was portrayed to her thus far was rage, hatred, murder, fear. All things that belonged as much with beasts as with humans. Right until a voice spoke to her. I'm scared. Eyes widening, this confirmed exactly what she thought. This was a conscious being, sentient, clever, and worst of all, suffering. "Nonono, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you.. Just stay calm, and you'll be safe." For such was the way of the young raven haired female. Despite how much pain and suffering she went through, at her very core, she worried about others. Rin's pledge as a heroine, was to do her best to save everyone. Villains, heroes, vigilantes, students, civilians, military. It mattered very little where your feet stood. If there was a chance of correcting mistakes, of making the world a better place, then Rin felt obligated to try. Standing relatively close, the girl looked at the collar around his neck...There were a few functions that the girl immediately recognized. Specifically the shock collar, as it was fairly similar to the design one might put on a dog, to shock it whenever it tried to leave a specific part of someone's property. There was far more to this collar than that, though. None of the other functions were recognized by the girl. The fact that the military would install something like a drug dispenser or an explosive device to end his life if he ever became a serious threat, had never once crossed Rin's mind as a possibility. It was far too inhumane. If discovered, it would cause a public uproar unlike any ever seen to this date. "Hey, Shark?.. My name is Rin... Can you tell me about this collar?.. What are they doing to you?" Rin was gentle, sweet, calm and collected. Not for even a moment, with the current developments, had she figured a feared humanoid would ever revert back to it's aggressive ways.Perhaps Rin underestimated the malice of the military. Perhaps Rin underestimated the suffering of the poor Shark. Perhaps, just for a moment, the Shark would warn her that something was happening. For now, the girl was inside a very dangerous zone, should the shark be able to break free from the blood prison she had him shackled in.

The monster's tears refused to stop streaming down, even when the young, raven-haired angel assured him that by staying calm, he'd be safe. A promise that it would take to heart, doing its darned best to keep its legs, torso and even arms still while the wall held him. The beast never held any malice within its heart, it never held evil. Its animalistic mind, lack of discernment and humiliatingly slow mental capacity made it into the simple, though well-meaning being that it was today. While Rin talked, with her actually getting too close, instead of snapping or biting at her, it instead nuzzled its deeply scarred, incredibly coarse face against her, quietly whimpering and searching for some affection, for some contact that wasn't violent. Even a deeply competitive, battle-loving monster desired for companionship, for friends.
As nearly as much as he feared death, he feared lonelyness.
"Rin.. friend. They put collar on me. They whipped, beat me. Evil people. Very evil, very cruel. They say I'll die. I don't do what they say, I die. I was free. I escaped Thundershock. They must be allies. I am scared.. I want fr-- f.. RRRHN... RHNN!?" The beast was interrupted just as it was about to say that it wanted "fr". Freedom? Friends? Maybe both? Well, Rin wouldn't know as the needles pumped way too much modified QED into the beast. Its struggling became frantic, desperate as the pain which it was suffering, as its system did its best to not collapse completely worked at max speed. Rin still had a few seconds before the wall becan cracking, crumbling. Whatever happened to it, it just got that much stronger.
With a desperate, furious roar, it broke the wall into several thousands of pieces, standing up tall again, its eyes darting everywhere, still crying. The body was weak, but the soul still weeped in horror, fear. Staring at Rin for a few seconds, even walking slowly towards her, it also noticed heat signals behind the walls. The Colonel surely thought no one could see it, though he had never accounted that the monster couldn't see to begin with. It saw heat. The thing needed to attack, to maim and maul. The drugs pumped into him demanded that he did it, being way too much to stop. As it wa sfinally broken away from everything that bound it, it began growling, which evolved into a proper roar. He had to attack what was closest.
Suddenly, it lifted its claws to the skies, roaring even louder as it slammed them onto the ground. Thanks to his heightened strength, much stronger claws and much better digging, not even the floor could stop it. Digging underground, with speeds greater than anything had ever been seen, it circled Rin for a while, the constant rumbling being quite the horrifying thing: she was not outmatched by any means, though, by some process, the thing was now a proper opponent. Suddenly, from behind her, it emerged up to the middle of its torso, screeching while trying to slash at her with a strong swipe of its claws.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The shark w as seemingly struggling to calm down in the presence of the young raven haired female. Listening to her calm demeanor, watching her move closer without yet being any threat, Rin was utilizing her lack of presence rather well. For someone who could wield rather destructive powers, as she herself was becoming more and more aware of, Rin had always seemed incredibly unassuming. There wasn't much about the girl that screamed powerful. It allowed her to, in some cases, speak down opponents. Rather than fear or anxiety, some found a little comfort in the raven haired female's approach. The shark seemed to be one of such individuals. It spoke to her, in a raspy voice. Detailing how the military personnel, no, Thundershock, was a horrible individual. Narrowing her eyes slightly, Rin was attempting to comprehend. This here Shark beast, had been a tool for Thunder Shock, the villain whom Darkshine had engaged in combat at the hospital?.. That suddenly made everything more complicated as a result. Lowering her gaze, Rin began thinking in earnest. If this shark was some kind of henchman, utilized for it's strength and brutality, driven into a corner and being set wild on the world, then what purpose could it possibly serve to have the shark captured and brought to the military..? The attack in the park, at the very least, although it was brutal, seemed to have very little meaningful gains for a villain like Thunder Shock... Given how the shark was caught here, at the military camp, could Thunder Shock have possibly planned something ahead of time..? Rin wasn't quite sure what was going on, but halfway through explaining, the Shark's demeanor changed. The blood vessels on the shark seemed to swell up, the beast's eyes losing focus. It was like watching every shred of humanity, intellect, compassion, ripped from the core of it's being. Rin, utilizing her blood, made a small incision on the back of the beast's leg, collecting a few dribbles of blood. Whatever was causing this, be it the genetic mutation of the shark or something else entirely, Rin intended to get to the bottom of it, if at all possible. The incision was sharp and precise, thus not hurting the shark, nor feeling like more than a prickle. "Whoa, calm down, I'm not--" Whatever had just happened, it had empowered the shark beyond what Rin would've figured possible. The girl's blood had had very little trouble pinning down the beast and keeping it under wraps. Now, however, out of nowhere, the beast was capable of resisting the bonds. It meant that Rin could no longer take a relaxed approach to this little encounter. If it had the strength to break out of her bonds, even if she hadn't fully charged her blood, then the damage it could do to her body would be terrifying...The surprises did not stop there. The shark, borderline effortlessly, began digging through the ground. Like the preadtor out in the ocean, it was circling her. Whether it could see, smell or sense her from underground, Rin couldn't quite tell. One thing was certain, it knew exactly where the girl was located. Gritting her teeth, Rin was aware she was being hunted. The blood, which had been part of his bonds, came to the raven haired female's side, swirling around her like a vortex. Rin needed to stay calm, collected.. Admist this chaos, the girl managed to raise her eyes for a brief moment, catching view of the people who were overseeing this. An apparatus, frustration, small hints of joy. If Rin was to wager, they had only been interested in seeing a fight in which someone got hurt. So when things had not gone their way, something had changed. What a bunch of lousy people... The blood which Rin had collected, provided she was successful, would filter through her own machinations, eventually collected into a small glass cylinder in the girl's medical belt. It wasn't the optimal storage situation, but it would have to do. Hopefully the sample would not be completely destroyed. As the shark emerged behind her, the girl didn't even have time to turn around. Reacting solely to the sound, the blood hardened at her back. It sounded like two metals colliding. The blood was still stronger than the shark's attacks, but at this point, the girl's strength was under contest. The shark's claws had left long, clearly visible scratch marks in the blood. That despite Rin having gone at it full strength. Attempting to wrap the blood around his wrist, if the girl could somehow lift the shark out of the ground, it may still be possible to restrict him. So Rin pulled, with all of her might, trying to get the shark out of his little hole in the ground. Struggling, Rin's face was borderline red from strain. The shark was way, way, way too heavy, and with the added strength and resistance, she wasn't having an easy time... "Come ooon..."

It had never been a henchman to Thundershock. In fact, it had been one of his prisoners, one of the beings most tortured by the cruel man, who continued to throw innocent people at the reinforced pit that held his captive. Laughing, as the beast weeped and screamed in anguish as it was forced to eat, to harm innocent people due to its fear of dying in starvation. In the time that Thundershock held it captive, it suffered the most traumatizing moments of its life, moments so deeply scarring it forced the thing to forget everything from his past. The good, the bad, the ugly. It went so deep, it eventually forgot its own name, its own identity. It didn't know who it was or wanted before.
It escaped, it tried to live alone and away from people. Sometimes, it hunted animals it could find, the ones he saw to be the biggest and meatiest ones from what his infrared vision could detect. There started the rumors. A massive digging beast that would ambush only the biggest cattle, which would never be seen again or, to the luckier men, only seen in chewed up bones.
Its trip to Tokyo had just been a mistake. It rose out of the underground to listen to the surface, to see if it had come back to a peaceful place. Its very presence sent everyone into a frenzy and, thanks to mistakes after mistakes, misunderstandings after misunderstandings, people began attacking him, pointing cameras at him. It ended up seeing them as villains, as bad people attacking him who, in his very simple mind, was innocent. It devolved rapidly, ending up escaping to the mountains and, subsequently, being targeted by the Army. Dozens of soldiers killed before it was subdued, it got dragged back, looked over, inspected, insulted.. and now it was forced to fight Rin, the second human to ever show him kindness.
Its rational side kept furiously screaming and crying, tears flowing out of the thing's eyes while it kept trying to slash at the wall, repeatedly scratching it, forcing several little debri to fly out every time it did so. Of course, it grew distracted, getting pulled out of the ground by her quirk, no longer in its natural habitat. Thanks to the QED however, it could use all of its power: it swung its tail from the side, trying to strike at Rin.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin could practically feel the pain that was emanating from the shark mutated individual. Screaming, raging, a captive in their own body or mind. The little blood sample that the girl had acquired had been stored in a small hardened glass cylinder within the girl's utility belt, meaning she no longer had to focus on it. Nothing short of a direct hit onto the container would be capable of smashing it open. Successfully, Rin lifted the shark out of the ground. As long as the girl could follow the shark's movements with her eyes, rather than relying on sound and tremors in the ground, she still had the advantage. Intending on moving the shark back ot the corner and hardening her blood to its absolute limit, Rin was going to attempt and capture the shark for a second time. Before even remotely getting there however, the furious creature twisted in the grasp of the blood, swinging it's tail directly at Rin's mid-section. Having utilized a majority of the blood at her availability for the offense, she had very little left to dedicate to pure defense. A small plate of blood hardened, attempting to intercept the tail-swipe, while a quick jerk of the blood grasping at the shark pulled him further away from herself, she could at the very least reduce the damage she'd receive from a downright drilling to, perhaps, just the effects of an iron whip. The impact sounded like a large, uninhibited slap. The little plate of blood over her skin absorbed some of the damage, while the rest passed through her body, causing her to waddle a couple of steps in pain. Even if it was just the tip of his tail, even if there was a small plate to absorb some of the damage, it had still managed to penetrate somewhat into her body. Without the defenses and quick actions, it could've very easily broken several ribs, if not done even more significant damage to her. It made the girl's mindset shift. Up until now, the girl had been mostly on the defensive, attempting her best to avoid harming the shark. Now, however, she was aware that he was dangerous enough to potentially kill her, if she wasn't actually taking this more serious. With a flick of her wrist, the blood that held onto the ankle and wrist of the shark, would attempt to slam the beast up into the ceiling of the little cage they were fighting in. It'd be with the full force of Rin's quirk, very likely bending the cage ever so slightly out of shape from the force, should she successfully slam the incredibly heavy shark. Provided she was successful, she'd hope that the shark was stunned for even the briefest of moments.Focussing her blood around the beast's legs and tail, Rin attempted to essentially glue him to the ceiling of the cage. Given that the cage was distinctly built to house quirk fights, it ought to be able to withstand the shark's flailings, and thus provide as a somewhat natural wall. The tail was naturally the part of the shark with the most versatility and range, so keeping that locked down meant that the potential danger Rin was facing lessened significantly. At least, those were the thoughts going through her mind. "Jesus, you hit like a truck. Can you calm down already? We don't need to fight!" Rin attempted to communicate through half gritted teeth. God, the slap from his tail felt like a genuine whip having gone across her side. Even at this point, she could still feel her lower rib creaking...

Vision blurry. Pain rises. A desire to kill just kept building onto the beast, its consciousness slipping further and further, what little existed of it in the first place was getting progressively quashed and tossed asside for pure brutality and a desire for freedom like no other. Even as its incredibly heavy body was slammed into a ceiling by someone incredibly strong, or at least their incredibly strong blood, it furiously thrashed everywhere, what little it could move: its arms, its face and its tail.
The slam bent the cage, though it was not everything it did. Along with bending came some crushing: not of the bones, his plating was much too tough for something like that, a single smashing, to really break through his hide AND bone, though it did break through something else: a certain collar otherwise unable to be broken by the beast could surely be broken by someone strong enough for strong metals like, say, Rin Kurama herself: the slammin' she gave the Shark smashed the collar against the cage in a way that, though it still barely held onto its neck, it no longer responded to a remote, not even its trigger for the explosion.
Effectively, the beast had been freed, though the drugs were there.
Feeling itself unconsciously free, as several pieces simply fell down at Rin's feet, the beast could only thrash even further, finally freeing like it could be free now, even if it couldn't reason just why. Instead, seeing that it couldn't break away from this red mass that refused to let him go, his tail started slapping the cage itself, his razor sharp teeth latching onto and starting to gnaw at the cage, doing his best to whittle it down. Even with the drugs giving him some of his former glory, he still wasn't strong enough to bite straight through tougher metals, though with some.. help ..
Would she do it though? Would she do it for him?

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Still panting, still gasping, the lingering damage from the tail swipe could most certainly be felt by the raven haired female, who struggled to fight away the pain to continue keeping the shark locked down. The trouble with failing to keep the shark locked down, was that the situation would immediately go from manageable to horrendous. Especially because the shark was frantically flailing everywhere. The cage, from the force Rin had put against the ceiling, was already bending out of shape. The corner of the cage, where the metallic poles were fastened into the ground, probably some sort of concrete, were coming loose by the moment. Rin was unaware of this, simply continuing to press harder against the shark, the more the shark kept fighting back against her. The shark gnawing on the cage could mean so many things. Formerly, the creature had spoken to her, opnely. Now, there was no attempts at communication. Wild, feral, enraged, Rin could not afford herself the liberty to think on other situations. This was a question of making the wrong move and potentially having her life ended. With a loud snap, the first pole was pulled free from the concrete. Shortly thereafter, a second snap followed, as the cage began bending completely out of shape. Shocked, Rin watched as the third pole cracked loose from it's concrete foundation. Now, the metal pole the shark was gnawing on, had been free'd from it's corner. The collar around the beast's neck was breaking apart into smaller pieces. Judging by the shouting in the background, by how several soldiers were storming down to the area, their equipment - just like the cage - was malfunctioning.
When the fourth pole was ripped loose, the ceiling of the cage began crumbling down. The weight of the shark and Rin's pressure exerted, too much for the little arena to handle. It meant an opening had been made for the shark; A path to freedom. Masanori was shouting something at Rin, clearly intent on making the girl capture the beast for the military. The blood was wrapped around the shark, as the girl was forced to make a decision. This shark had killed several people in the park. At that time, no one seemed to have been controlling him. It meant the shark was a dangerous tool. Yet, on the flipside, the military seemed intent on using him for experiments. For their own horrible ends. There was no telling whether the shark would cause more panic and destruction out in the open, or as the puppet of the military. Hesitation was painted across the girl's face. A hesitation that made the shark capable of slipping through her grasp if he desired.
Should the shark manage to escape from her grasp of blood, she would immediately understand the gravity of the situation, attempting to launch her blood at him to, once again, capture him. Not because Rin would've made a decision at that point, oh no, it was simply the fact that she needed a few extra seconds to think. Seconds that she would never acquire. The shark dug himself a hole into the ground, quickly disappearing from the area. Rin's blood could not follow that far, and with the strike against her ribs earlier, she was not in a condition to give chase. Coughing lowly, the blood slowly returned to her side instead, as she inspected the damage that was done to the cage. Uncertain, she couldn't quite tell if the majority of this was due to her power, or due to the sharks. One thing was for certain though, the shark had been in a completely different ballpark, than when he had been fighting Darren in the park. No matter what, that kind of improvement was not natural. The military was playing a hand in this, it simply had to be. The blood sample was securely hidden away... The military men approached her. Oh, was Rin in for the scolding of her life, and likely a bit of physical torment as well...
