ell, she defenitely wouldn't steer students from their drug use, but Kasey's approachability defenitely gave her a better chance of getting closer to Kanna than most other students have had before. If anything, merely keeping her regular company over lunch could help the reclusive hacker grow more at ease with the presence of others. As even though they'd only shared one bit of dessert, it's already more than she'd shared with most other kids at school: "Well, it's defenitely convenient...", she'd reply, rubbing behind her neck at that sight of that almost praising smile; though without reasserting the complete lack of offense it provided. Out her, against most of these hero students, she'd have little chance in a battle involving their quirks. Martial arts, maybe; other non offensive quirks, maybe she could take those on as well, "As for how useful I can make it, then...", she shrugged, then crouched bent over to pick up her backpack, and strap it across her shoulder, "That's really up to me, I guess." Indeed, only Kanna could prevent potential enemies from realizing the full potential of her quirk, from understanding how breaking her and harnessing it could significantly boost their information gathering. For an intelligence agency, an ability like Kanna's could make the difference between importance or irrelevance. Unlike Kasey though, she had a far easier time hiding it, and didn't plan on giving up that advantage. She rolled her eyes, the question of class recieving an immediate, outspoken sign of displeasure of the messy shit that had been happening there as of late. Kanna defenitely didn't feel as annoyed by them as she did last week though, "I'm in 1-A, first year...", she'd eventually answer, sounding almost like a confession of sorts. Not the fact that she'd been one year away from finishing high school before coming here... But that she'd incidentally picked the one class with the most drama/square meter... Maybe she would have stopped anyone from doing drugs, but from a medical stand point, herbal or pharmaceutical were just the same to her. Using them from time to time was alright as long as you needed them and weren't addicted to the use of them. The more you used, the higher your tolerance and resistance grew. It would only mean you needed stronger, and stronger meds... "Well, even with the ideal quirk, in the hands of someone not willing to go the distance, you're pretty much no better than someone who can magically fold laundry." She said it aloud to her, remembering overhearing someone talk about how useless their quirk was. While she would normally agree, perhaps training such a skill would force people to be folded as they wore clothing. Their villainous nemesis would be a streaker it would seem. She smiled at the idea of it, but tried to push it out of her mind. Every time she thought of an evil person, it was always an old man. And she did not need that visual right now. But hearing the class she couldn't help but laugh. So she was in the hero course as well. If she had something that was simply hidden, then perhaps a certain girl would force her out of her little bubble. The both of them could bond over how much they didn't wish to speak to others, or how stupid the rest of the world was. Maybe it was a counterproductive thought, to place two people who didn't like anyone, and expect them to like each other. "Then you must have it all cut out for you." Kasey would say to the young hero. "I heard it's a very tough class." A fact she knew was perhaps understated with how the class was. Kasey knew more about those students more than any other classroom, which wasn't saying that much to begin with. After all, her sister was in that class. ~ Word Count: 329 ~ |

retty much, there wasn't really any difference between what people called drugs and the "medication" their doctors prescribed. Many of those recreational drugs started off as medicine, until people started using them for other purposes. It seemed as if Kasey and Kanna thought alike on more topics than either could imagine right now, however would that influence their relationship however, only the future would know. "Yeap... In a way I'm glad I wasn't born with a powerful quirk; most folks would do get sloppy and just rely on that power without ever spending a second wondering how to use it to its full potential. Stagnation is the worst enemy of any skill, Quirky or otherwise.", nodding, Kanna raised a hand to her chin with a contemplative look that made her look far more mature, or at least far more contemplative than the image she projected. She liked thinking about stuff, and happened to be pretty good about it given the time to indulge such. Kanna raised an eyebrow at that laughter coming from her lips, wondering what might she have found so funny about it. She felt almost embarassed, had the antics of 1-A in the last few days already hit the headlines even among the school faculty? Of course, the blonde knew only the tip of the iceberg, with no clue as to what manner of painful events had some of her new classmates found themselves roped into... Indeed Kanna had several parts of herself she wished to keep hidden, some of which she wasn't even aware of herself. She'd think she was acting wierd whenever she did something nice for someone she cared about, for she'd never acknowledge caring for someone, or how could someone be nice to another without expecting anything in return. So of course, if she was doing something good, then it must meant she had to recieve something... So yes, she defenitely found it easier to bond with someone who shared her distancing from the rest, even if that too required some manner of rationalization, like needing something from that person: "Ugh, tell me about it...", she acknowledged, glacing away as the rubbing of her head intensified, soon followed by a quick brush of her hair to get it just little bit less messy... Or, well, as messy as her usual at least, "But I picked my poison without knowing what I was getting into... Now I gotta tough it out." Perhaps given time, she'd come to an understanding with some of them... But it might take a while, most defenitely... ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

Everything started off harmless and pure until they were abused and taken advantage of. Medication, drugs, Kasey, they were all the same in this sense. Too much of them could kill you, you just had to know when to take your doses. Practice made perfect, but if nobody was perfect, why practice? For the reason to be better at what you aren't already the best at. There is always someone stronger, faster, and smarter than you. If you live with that ideal, fighting this person within your mind daily, you will strive to overcome them, or be overwhelmed and give up. It was the will of the world, and simply just how things worked. "Well, then I can only assume you were chosen to be on the winning team of that class." she said to the girl, having known of the fairy's lesson plans to divide the class into half and pit them against, and with each other for exercises. She didn't know who was on each side, only that Levi was more than pleased with being on the side with the class president. "Perhaps it's a time to practice with people outside of that class so none will know what to expect when a lesson comes." Kasey suggested to the girl. it was just her idea, and having heard from Levi, she had gone out of her way to try her quirk on other random people, getting a better idea on how she worked. "Makes me almost glad I get paid to be here, and not that I paid to be here." She would get out another giggle, finding it humorous that she was none too older than most of the students, yet she had found herself much better off both financially, as well as socially. even in her own eyes, she was already a hero, being someone who was far more suited for her job than the other professionals. And she really did enjoy cleaning up the trash. ~ Word Count: 330 ~ |

he'd already established Kasey knew a lot for a janitor, how she wasn't even an ordinary janitor to begin with. But when she said those words, like the herald of things to come, how could the hacker not feel interested in it. Now whatever did she mean by that? With nothing concrete to go by, those lips echoed the same question bouncing around her head: "Now what the hell do you mean by that...?", answered the blonde, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow. While she defenitely hated losing, she also hated to feel she'd let someone else carry her to victory. Cause that's exactly what Kasey sounded like right now, even if she looked pretty neutral about it. She obviously knew more about said event, and had it happened to involve using your quirks against the other team, then, well... She might find herself at a disadvantage. Sighing, Kanna shrugged, "Oh well... We'll see when that actually happens.", and yet the girl's next suggestion couldn't help pique her interest, as evidenced by the raising of an eyebrow, "You might be onto something there... Sure, I'll take you up on that offer." She wasn't one to back down from her challenge though, even though she knew this woman likely had a very offensive quirk, and her ability to counter it in her current level might come off as a tall order. But she wouldn't know unless she tried. Besides, she also felt a nudging curiosity towards the powers and abilities of a woman few knew anything about, of a woman who obviously knew more about everything than she let on; despite being clearly oblivious to what most people would consider common sense. "Yeah, I don't imagine you would...", Kanna snickered in return, amused at the idea of someone paying to be a janitor. Even if the money she recieved for her time probably wasn't worth the time invested, the girl obviously cared. As they had that last bit of conversation though, Kanna would steadily start walking down from the rooftops and from then, "I'm not sure about the education, but I guess you can't complain about the entertainment." Naturally, Kanna wasn't the slightest bit entertained as could be seen by the way she looked off further away... But for what it's worth, it felt like she was slowly starting to understand why exactly Kasey showed such fondness for this job, for this envoiroment, and couldn't help but picture her kicking back and enjoyed a bag of popcorn whenever those drama fests exploded... Go figure... Perhaps she'd talk it over with her again some other time, for as she headed over to class, it seemed their time together wsa coming to an end. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

While she wasn't exactly offering to spar with the girl, it wasn't an idea she would shy away from. If she wanted to do battle in a light skirmish, then so be it. She would only hope that the girl would not hold back when that time came, for Kasey would not hold back either. She would always go completely all out, at every chance. In this life, there was no time to be half way. Whatever means it took a hero to win, Kasey hoped she would experience it first hand. While she was not entirely the sharpest tool in the shed, she was a toolbox full of strange specialty objects. She may have housed broken, dull and rusted tools, but she held an arsenal more vast than the average collection. It wasn't a great feat, and perhaps not even one worth bragging about, but her tools had never once failed her, nor broken under stress. "The less the public knows about you, the more successful you can be as a hero." Kasey would tell the young girl, who wasn't that much more youthful than the janitor, "Fame is a double edged sword. While reknown can intimidate some, the knowledge of what you can do becomes everyone's shared data."Secrecy. While it was true to being a good hero, it was one thing Kasey lived by. The less people knew she did, the better. No one could ever expect that she was coming for them until it was too late. By the time she arrived, they would still have to learn how to fight her own abilities. And just when you thought you understood the girl, you would learn of the beast within her... "Yeah, I think I'll stay up here for a bit longer and clean some things up." Kasey would say to her, having decided to slack off for a bit more before getting back to the grindstone of work. She would sweep and dust whatever and clean what she could maybe, or it could have just been an excuse. For now, she would enjoy what time she had during her shift, while the girl would endure her classes. ~ Word Count: 362 ~ |

efenitely.", despite the almost surprised look on her face, Kanna nodded decidedly, as if she herself had already reached that conclusion at some point and merely found it surprising to hear it said from someone else's lips, from someone who worked at a school for heroes. Soon, she had fingers on her chin with that obvioulsy contemplative pose, all but hinting how she herself preferred laying low, "The less yours enemies know, the better you can use their lack of knowledge against them. The more attention you draw, the more likely they'll come up with some way to exploit your weaknesses." Then again, Kasey could easily figure this out just from watching where the teenager chose to eat her lunch. Her Quirk in particular became stronger the less people knew about it, the less her enemies grew aware of her presence. In the off chance that she "'iight, i'll leave you to it... See ya...!", nodding and turning around, she waved off her new friend as she walked away from the rooftop. But just as Kanna's hands were about to reach the door, she stopped in her tracks; clearly forgetting something, "Oh, I almost forgot...", she interjected, quickly reaching into one of the smaller pouches on her backpack, and pulling out a small, plain looking cellphone. Gripping the small gadget, she'd casually get Kasey's attention with a, "Catch...!", and toss the device right into the janitor's waiting hands. A clean, well aimed through, evidencing someone who was clearly used to passing around objects as such. It actually took her a while to realize the technologically impaired Kasey might not realize why exactly was Kanna giving her a phone. She scratched her head: "If you need to call me without drawing attention, use that." With this final gift to someone who may very well become either a friend or an enemy in the future, Kanna swung the creaky door open and finally walked away. She had classes to attend, and Kasey a job to do. [EXIT] ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY
