Personality:
Tetsuko's upbringing and admiration for the art of swordsmanship have instilled some strong classical values in Tetsuko. She holds honesty and a strong moral presence in high regard, herself possessing sturdy moral fibers and a simple view of right and wrong. Tetsuko dislikes those who seem to be dishonest and flippant, or who seem to be uncaring and indifferent. Her disdain for weak morality is dogmatic, as she sometimes displays ignorance in favor of maintaining assuredness in her views. A willingness to accept her beliefs as true and leave it at that, even if they hurt her in the long run.
In spite of her firm mindset, Tetsuko is still a naturally friendly young woman. An extrovert by nature, she’s no problem making friends and connections with others, especially those with the diligence and kindness that she respects. Tetsuko gladly makes acquaintances and friends, even though she can occasionally be unintentionally neglectful towards them due to her one-track mind pursuits. Regret and conflict naturally follow.

HISTORY
Tetsuko's story starts with the great Japanese sword school of Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū. Though its foundations are set hundreds of years in the past, all that needs to be known for Tetsuko's role in this prestigious school is that her grandfather, Ryouichi Shindou, renowned as the Iron Will of Kashima, serves as the head of one of its primary branches. And in his time, has sought to carve a place for the righteous swordsmen of the Shindou family as inheritors of this school. His own daughter, and Tetsuko's father, Miku Shindou would follow this path laid out for her, making great strides and becoming almost certainly the next inheritor of Jikishinkage-ryū. More notable for Tetsuko, however, Miku found love early in her late 20s with another student of the school. A somewhat awkward and emotional man by the name of Masaru. Little time would pass before they were married, and bore a child of their own. Masaru ended up adopting the Shindou name, his own family ties much less important than the prestige the Shindou name was gathering.
Tetsuko Shindou was born into the world in the city of Kashima, the birthplace of Jikishinkage-ryū. It was a lovely place to spend her first few years, a shoreside city of clear skies and vast oceans. It was also the place Tetsuko first got her view of the sword school she'd soon admire, often captivated by the fluid movements of her parents when they practiced. However, unfortunately for Tetsuko, she would only call the place home for the first 4 years of her life, before tragedy struck.
Her mother suffered a vicious attack from unknown forces, though whether they were hooligans or rivals is not important. The fact was, that Miku Shindou was terribly wounded by the ordeal, her ability to walk robbed entirely of her. A tragedy that sent ripples throughout the Jikishinkage-ryū, and through Tetsuko's family. Never would Miku Shindou inherit the school she'd trained in. In light of the accident, Tetsuko's family moved to the city of Mustafa, a larger city with greater medical care... And a distance from the Jikishinkage-ryū. Miku was never quite the same since the accident, and it was more than evident that mere mention of the school pained her.
Tetsuko was devastated by the happenings, even if she was far too young to fully understand them. As time went on, she began to understand that it was up to her to fulfill her mother's destiny, to study in Jikishinkage-ryū and wield at as her mother wanted to... But she was but a girl. An emotional one at that, wrought with grief and confusion. Even her own Grandfather was skeptical of the young girl's intentions to take on the school so early... Until she awoke to her Quirk.
She bloomed slightly later than others, and it was not a quiet awakening. No short deal of cuts was left on the girl, but the scars were small and faded. What did linger from this, however, was the increased interest from her grandfather. She was the first Shindou to have a Quirk, and thus he saw potential right away for the new era of Jikishinkage-ryū. She began truly learning the art, in spite of her emotional and childish ways, in the interest of honoring her mother and becoming a new champion of the righteous Shindou family.
Her school life continued on, now underpinned by this dedication to the school. Other than that, Tetsuko's life was decidedly... Normal. She played sports, stressed over school, and made friends. Most notably, a best friend. She was a stranger at first, but Tetsuko could not look the other way from the bullying Elise was suffering. Tetsuko continued a regular life throughout middle school, alongside her training with her grandfather. The 'power' she was blessed with was troublesome, however, as were her powerful emotions. Tetsuko used her quirk however she could within her training in swordsmanship, but ultimately, there were few avenues for her to actually attain proper tutorship for its usage... At least, until Quirk users started to become much more accepted by the government.
As vigilantes became 'heroes', a new possibility was open to the Shindou family. When that tempted both Tetsuko and her grandfather. They could take their sacred sword art, and use it to shape righteous champions that would usher in the new era of their school, using Quirks to their greatest purpose. Tetsuko now saw a way to not only strive toward her goals of attaining 'immovable heart', but also using her skills to be a paragon of justice. It was only natural she ended up wanting to go to U.A., even if her dearest friend wouldn't be coming with her...
As their futures seemed to diverge, one last fateful day was in store for the pair. Though eTetsuko saw her friend's differing past as equally just, not many of her schoolmates felt the same way. She confronted some of the bullies, and things escalated, to put it lightly. Punches were thrown all about, and Tetsuko suffered no small deal of punishment. Her head was such a swimming mess after it, so much that she couldn't even be sure of what transpired after. All she knew was Elise was there, closer than ever, and she felt better right away. Elise would always be there to save her, it seemed.

As long is it originates from her own body, Tetsuko is capable of drawing out her iron, pulling it from her own blood and through her skin. She is able to shape and move it as long as it retains its connection to her body. It must be connected to her blood through her skin in order to be manipulated. If this connection is severed, the iron constructs will still remain, but Tetsuko’s control over them will not unless more iron attaches it again to her body. When controlling her iron, it can shape and move at roughly double the speed of a pro baseball pitch. Training herself even further, Tetsuko can fashion many simple armours, weapons and tools with her Quirk, along with being able to competently construct some more detailed and specific forms. Constructs are of the same quality and toughness as regular iron, but can only last 4 posts before the iron becomes too weak, forcing Tetsuko to either let the construct break off contact from her body, or retract the iron back into herself. The latter can be risky, however, as there is a danger of bringing any contaminants and other substances her iron has mixed with into her own body. The maximum size for a construct, and maximum iron Tetsuko can manipulate at any time, is equal to a 1.5m cube. Drawing out more than half of this volume of iron will incur the adverse effects of overusing her Quirk. As the iron must be pulled through her own body to be drawn out, usage of Tetsuko’s quirk can result in annoying, though superficial, cuts. Though, bleeding will be blocked by the excess iron present. Effects:- Manipulation of body's iron: C-Rank Constructs + Manipulation Drawback and Weaknesses: Using up the body’s iron can have a number of adverse effects on Tetsuko’s body. Using her quirk for too long, or in too great quantities, will inhibit her blood’s ability to transport oxygen, resulting in pale skin, headaches, irregular breathing, and general fatigue. In the same vein, in order to regularly use her Quirk, Tetsuko has to maintain an iron-rich diet to keep her stores high. Neglecting to do so directly diminishes the extent to which she can use her quirk before suffering its adverse effects. The excess iron present also naturally brings with it an increased susceptibility to any kind of abilities utilizing electricity or ferromagnetism. MUNDANE ABILITIES Iron Chef (Cooking) Rank: F Effect: After joining the cooking club and receiving lessons from its president, Tetsuko Shindou has developed a skill in cooking that she uses to support her own dietary needs. She also, naturally, uses this skill for the benefit of others, aiming to cook meals that provide nutritional and health benefits. Her cooking ability is better than your average Joe's, but is still not far beyond a beginner level. Her specialty is Japanese cuisine.
Kashima Spirit (Soccer) Rank: F Effect: Thanks to her deep interest in the sport that enraptures her hometown, Tetsuko has developed a skill in football - not the American kind - that truly shows the spirit of Kashima! Her skill is equal to that of your average amateur league player.
COMBAT ABILITIES Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū: Reikenden (Swordsmanship) Type: Skill Rank: D Effect: Returning to her hometown has allowed Tetsuko to unlock new heights in her swordsmanship, now displaying competence in Kodachi no Kata. Tetsuko is highly proficient in the art of swordsmanship, showing a level of ability in Jikishinkage-ryū comparable to that of a prodigy, having finally harnessed the strength of her own bloodline. Her skill with a blade is impressive, to be sure, standing above most other professionals, though far from the legends she strives to match.
Hohō (Speed) Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: In her training, Tetsuko has developed one of the most important traits for any swordswoman to have; agility. In her case, this refers specifically to an enhanced quickness in her movements. It may be a simple enhancement, but one that is vital to any wielder of the blade. Further training has let her use her Quirk to further aid this mobility, using her Quirk to create cables and wires and other tools to make her a much more mobile combatant. She has speed about on par with an Olympic sprinter's.
Unmei no Akai Ito (Regeneration) Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: Through a combination of conditioning her body and repeated exposure to a certain healing substance, Tetsuko's body has developed a regenerative factor above that of most people. She is capable of regenerating moderate wounds over 4 turns, costing the same amount of stamina as an E-rank attack to regenerate. With this, Tetsuko finds herself able to press on furthermore towards her ultimate goals.
Fudōshin (Stamina) Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: Following her rigorous training in her hometown of Kashima, Tetsuko has taken the first proper steps towards the immoveable spirit that her art promises. Her mental training has bred physical endurance, enhanced stamina that allows Tetsuko to apply her utmost for longer than most others. Her stamina is on par with that of an Olympian triathlete. As long is it originates from her own body, Tetsuko is capable of drawing out her iron, pulling it from her own blood and through her skin. She is able to shape and move it as long as it retains its connection to her body. It must be connected to her blood through her skin in order to be manipulated. If this connection is severed, the iron constructs will still remain, but Tetsuko’s control over them will not unless more iron attaches it again to her body. When controlling her iron, it can shape and move at roughly double the speed of a pro baseball pitch. Training herself even further, Tetsuko can fashion many simple armours, weapons and tools with her Quirk, along with being able to competently construct some more detailed and specific forms.
Constructs are of the same quality and toughness as regular iron, but can only last 4 posts before the iron becomes too weak, forcing Tetsuko to either let the construct break off contact from her body, or retract the iron back into herself. The latter can be risky, however, as there is a danger of bringing any contaminants and other substances her iron has mixed with into her own body.
The maximum size for a construct, and maximum iron Tetsuko can manipulate at any time, is equal to a 1.5m cube. Drawing out more than half of this volume of iron will incur the adverse effects of overusing her Quirk.
As the iron must be pulled through her own body to be drawn out, usage of Tetsuko’s quirk can result in annoying, though superficial, cuts. Though, bleeding will be blocked by the excess iron present.

[font size="2"][b]Drawback and Weaknesses:[/b][/font] Using up the body’s iron can have a number of adverse effects on Tetsuko’s body. Using her quirk for too long, or in too great quantities, will inhibit her blood’s ability to transport oxygen, resulting in pale skin, headaches, irregular breathing, and general fatigue.
In the same vein, in order to regularly use her Quirk, Tetsuko has to maintain an iron-rich diet to keep her stores high. Neglecting to do so directly diminishes the extent to which she can use her quirk before suffering its adverse effects.
The excess iron present also naturally brings with it an increased susceptibility to any kind of abilities utilizing electricity or ferromagnetism.

Tetsuko's upbringing and admiration for the art of swordsmanship have instilled some strong classical values in Tetsuko. HISTORY
Tetsuko's story starts with the great Japanese sword school of Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū. Though its foundations are set hundreds of years in the past, all that needs to be known for Tetsuko's role in this prestigious school is that her grandfather, Ryouichi Shindou, renowned as the Iron Will of Kashima, serves as the head of one of its primary branches. And in his time, has sought to carve a place for the righteous swordsmen of the Shindou family as inheritors of this school. His own daughter, and Tetsuko's father, Miku Shindou would follow this path laid out for her, making great strides and becoming almost certainly the next inheritor of Jikishinkage-ryū. More notable for Tetsuko, however, Miku found love early in her late 20s with another student of the school. A somewhat awkward and emotional man by the name of Masaru. Little time would pass before they were married, and bore a child of their own. Masaru ended up adopting the Shindou name, his own family ties much less important than the prestige the Shindou held.
Tetsuko Shindou was born into the world in the city of Kashima, the birthplace of Jikishinkage-ryū. It was a lovely place to spend her first few years, a shoreside city of clear skies and vast oceans. It was also the place Tetsuko first got her view of the sword school she'd soon admire, often captivated by the fluid movements of her parents when they practiced. However, unfortunately for Tetsuko, she would only call the place home for her childhood, before tragedy struck.

As time went on, she began to understand that it was up to her to restore her mother's honor, to study in Jikishinkage-ryū and wield at as her mother wanted to... But she was but a girl. An emotional one at that, wrought with grief and confusion. Even her own Grandfather was skeptical of the young girl's intentions to take on the school so early... Until she awoke to her Quirk.
She bloomed slightly later than others, and it was not a quiet awakening. No short deal of cuts was left on the girl, but the scars were small and faded. What did linger from this, however, was the increased interest from her grandfather. She was the first Shindou to have a Quirk, and thus he saw potential right away for the new era of Jikishinkage-ryū. She began truly learning the art, in the interest of honoring her mother and becoming a new champion of the righteous Shindou family.
Her school life continued on, now underpinned by this dedication to the school. Other than that, Tetsuko's life was decidedly... Normal. She played sports, stressed over school, and made friends. Most notably, a best friend. She was a stranger at first, but Tetsuko could not look the other way from the bullying Elise was suffering. The Shindou way did not allow such injustice to transpire, after all. In time, Tetsuko became Elise's protector, but perhaps more importantly, her friend.
Tetsuko continued a regular life throughout middle school, alongside her training with her school, under the strict tutelage of her grandfather. Tetsuko used her quirk however she could within her training in swordsmanship, but ultimately, there were few avenues for her to actually attain proper tutorship for its usage... At least, until Quirk users started to become much more accepted by the government.
As vigilantes became 'heroes', a new possibility was open to the Shindou family. When that tempted both Tetsuko and her grandfather. They could take their sacred sword art, and use it to shape righteous champions that would usher in the new era of their school, using Quirks to their greatest purpose. Tetsuko now saw a way to not only strive toward her goals of attaining 'immovable heart', but also using her skills to be a paragon of justice, to be someone who surely had the strength to restore her mother's pride. It was only natural she ended up wanting to go to U.A., even if her dearest friend wouldn't be coming with her...
As their futures seemed to diverge, one last fateful day was in store for the pair. Though Tetsuko saw her friend's differing path as equally just, not many of her schoolmates felt the same way. She confronted some of the bullies, and things escalated, to put it lightly. Punches were thrown all about, and Tetsuko suffered no small deal of punishment. Her head was such a swimming mess after it, so much that she couldn't even be sure of what transpired after. All she knew was Elise was there, closer than ever, and she felt better right away. Elise would always be there to save her, it seemed.

It was also the place Tetsuko first got her view of the sword school she'd soon admire, often captivated by the fluid movements of her parents when they practiced. However, unfortunately for Tetsuko, she would only call the place home for her childhood, before tragedy struck.
Her mother suffered a vicious attack from unknown forces, though whether they were hooligans or rivals is not important. The fact was, that Miku Shindou was terribly wounded by the ordeal, suffering a traumatic brain injury that broke her body and mind. A tragedy that sent ripples throughout the Jikishinkage-ryū, and through Tetsuko's family. Never would Miku Shindou inherit the school she'd trained in. In light of the accident, Tetsuko's family moved to the city of Tokyo, where therapy awaited Miku Shindou, who was now... Far different. Far more broken.
Tetsuko was devastated by the happenings, by the state her mother was on. As time went on, she began to understand that it was up to her to restore her mother's honor, to study in Jikishinkage-ryū and wield at as her mother wanted to... But she was but a girl. An emotional one at that, wrought with grief and confusion. Even her own Grandfather was skeptical of the young girl's intentions to take on the school so early... Until she awoke to her Quirk.
She bloomed slightly later than others, and it was not a quiet awakening. No short deal of cuts was left on the girl, but the scars were small and faded. What did linger from this, however, was the increased interest from her grandfather. She was the first Shindou to have a Quirk, and thus he saw potential right away for the new era of Jikishinkage-ryū. She began truly learning the art, in the interest of honoring her mother and becoming a new champion of the righteous Shindou family.
Her school life continued on, now underpinned by this dedication to the school. Other than that, Tetsuko's life was decidedly... Normal. She played sports, stressed over school, and made friends. Most notably, a best friend. She was a stranger at first, but Tetsuko could not look the other way from the bullying Elise was suffering. The Shindou way did not allow such injustice to transpire, after all. In time, Tetsuko became Elise's protector, but perhaps more importantly, her friend.
Tetsuko continued a regular life throughout middle school, alongside her training with her school, under the strict tutelage of her grandfather. Tetsuko used her quirk however she could within her training in swordsmanship, but ultimately, there were few avenues for her to actually attain proper tutorship for its usage... At least, until Quirk users started to become much more accepted by the government.
As vigilantes became 'heroes', a new possibility was open to the Shindou family. When that tempted both Tetsuko and her grandfather. They could take their sacred sword art, and use it to shape righteous champions that would usher in the new era of their school, using Quirks to their greatest purpose. Tetsuko now saw a way to not only strive toward her goals of attaining 'immovable heart', but also using her skills to be a paragon of justice, to be someone who surely had the strength to restore her mother's pride. It was only natural she ended up wanting to go to U.A., even if her dearest friend wouldn't be coming with her...
As their futures seemed to diverge, one last fateful day was in store for the pair. Though Tetsuko saw her friend's differing path as equally just, not many of her schoolmates felt the same way. She confronted some of the bullies, and things escalated, to put it lightly. Punches were thrown all about, and Tetsuko suffered no small deal of punishment. Her head was such a swimming mess after it, so much that she couldn't even be sure of what transpired after. All she knew was Elise was there, closer than ever, and she felt better right away. Elise would always be there to save her, it seemed.
Tetsuko never felt quite the same way when thinking about her friend after that day, though she didn't know - or didn't yet accept - the reasons why. Now they both have their own paths to chase, with Tetsuko enrolling into UA to pursue a righteous path toward the immovable heart that lies at the summit of Jikishinkage-ryū. As a result of continued testing of her unnatural regenerative abilities, Tetsuko has evolved them even further, now employing the use of her own Quirk and iron blood to heal herself at will. As a result of her pushing against her limits, she can heal herself more quickly now, but less efficiently.
By focusing to invigorate her regenerative abilities, and closing sounds with her iron, Tetsuko is able to heal deep wounds over 2 turns, using up twice as much stamina as it took to inflict them.

Adapting these teachings to her own needs, Tetsuko has now developed a greater accuracy and ability at longer-ranged combat using her Quirk's constructs. Her accuracy is on par with that of an Olympian marksman's, as she is able to reliably and accurately hit her targets within 10 meters.
Upgrading to: Type: Skill Rank: E Effect: As the iron in Tetsuko’s blood becomes more prominent, so does the effect on her body. As a response to the frequent damage she’s sustained, Tetsuko’s Quirk has adapted to infuse her very flesh with the iron in her body, becoming harder and more resilient than is normal, resulting in her having a toughness like that of stone.
As a result of this, Tetsuko’s mutation is more evident than ever in her blood and flesh, which takes on a paler, shinier, yet still somewhat red hue.

STEELHEART QUIRK INFORMATION Ironblood (Bodily Iron Manipulation) Type: Emitter Rank: C Description: Tetsuko’s body contains a large excess of iron, far beyond the normal human amount. Her blood, muscles, bone and flesh all contain high amounts of ferrous iron, in many places where it shouldn’t be, that she is capable of manipulating at will, pulling it through her skin and shaping it. In its base form, her bodily iron has a form like powder or sand, fine and rough and easily disrupted. However, she can bring her bodily iron together, manipulating it by pulling it out through her skin and shaping it into iron constructs, her bodily iron solidifying and bonding to form a number of different shapes, tools, armor, weapons etc. Essentially, she can harden this base, ferrous powder form into iron constructs. Tetsuko can manipulate her bodily iron and shape it into constructs so long as she remains touching it. When being manipulated, the iron must be in its powder form. The base ferrous powder form is easily dispelled. Tetsuko can also, however, manipulate the iron within her own body to form the base of constructs internally for safer construction, however, this naturally causes damage to her own body, a la Wolverine claws. Even with her large excess, the human body is quite limited in size, meaning Tetsuko’s basic Quirk range does not extend beyond a few meters, or basic ‘melee’ range. Benefits - Honed (Damage) : Tetsuko’s control over her bodily iron allows her to make sure they’re capable of dishing out damage as she needs them to. Whether this be sharpening her constructs or simple using her control over her iron to selectively shape them for maximum damage, no matter the shape. Tetsuko’s iron constructs are able to break through regular iron as a result.
Tetsuko typically uses her bodily iron to from blades, spears, batons and other weaponry. - Tempered (Durability) : The iron in Tetsuko’s body not only lets her dish out damage, but take plenty of it too. By manipulating her bodily iron, Tetsuko can form armor and shielding over her body, however is limited by her available iron and cannot actually turn any of her body to metal.
