| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Many people might wonder how they ended up in a fancy penthouse party. It wasn't that fancy, lots of people already became tipsy or were drunk but Rowan.. Rowan not so much. She did not trust the Burning Lady as soon as she would drink and right now she rather looked around.
She still could not really fantom how she ended up at this party, one moment she was down in her own apartment, going outside to pick up something to drink from the 24/7 store and the next she bumped into a girl that asked her to join the party. And with that came her pathetic answer: "Sure." Why she said that was beyond her, all she wanted to do was have a drink and relax and not be worried about a hangover or lack of sleep before going to school, which did not sound like a wonderful plan. But here she was, looking timid, which was something she wasn't. But there were too many faces she did not know and she missed home. She had decided to go and live on her own to be more open to people and to understand hardship and burdens but she was still spoiled and she had a scowl on her face and her arms crossed in front of her chest. It would have been better to just go home. She turned her eyes to the glass bar or well, it was an aquarium that functioned as a bar, it looked wonderful and well, she could have one drink and enjoy that. As long as no police or whatsoever showed up to stop minors from drinking and would call her father or report it to school. She felt a bit intimidated by that idea and bit her lower lip, "Can I have an ice tea?"
The bartender or whatever his official titlewas as this was a houseparty looked at her as if she was crazy. "Ehm a long island?" What were names for alcohol, what did her mother drink again? She had no idea.

Indeed, this party came as a welcoming bonus to a mind numbingly average day for the aloof hacker. She was just getting home after a quick, nighttime grocery run - bags in tow - just enough to grab some coffee for tomorrow morning, and more importantly, cookies. No stoner worth her salt had the luxury of running out of munchies, after all, perhaps she'd get home and violate some noobs on Counter Attack. But then, an invitation. A girl hurriedly came over to her just as she eased her key into its hole, seemingly extending this invitation to every other resident in the appartment block. She gave her a simple nod, "'iight, I'll be there.", watching the woman leave with a hint of curiosity in her eyes. She scarcely had time to get dressed, and so took no longer than a couple of minutes to drop the groceries. Thankfully, she'd taken a shower a while ago... However she spent no time brushing her hair - wearing it in her usual wild, unkept ponytail - nor did she bother to put on a bra. She could get by without it anyway. And now here she sat at the bar, surrounded by pretty people and others not so pretty, some of them drunk and others not so drunk. Devoid of the barest hint of modesty, her denim hotpants and short white top revealed most of her tattoos, only her long sporty jacket covering the largest on her back. That said, she had more than enough to draw attention, while Kanna herself seemingly cared very little for it. She sat at the bar casually - with her legs far further apart than ladylike elegance would dictate - slouched forward in a posture fitting of a juvenile delinquent as she casually pulled out an ounce of tobacco and proceeding to roll herself a cigarette. Nothing illegal in it... This time. She avoided thinking too hard on how rich this host had to be to have her own bar at home, she kept her ears sharp as girl next to her ordered herself an ice tea. The bartender seemingly misunderstood it, but Kanna couldn't care less and ordered her own on top of it, likely cementing the dark haired girl's choice of the alcoholic option: "And a can of Blu Ox for me...", she asked, straight and to the point, scarcely looking the bartender in the eyes, let alone smile. She kept her gaze mostly focused on her rolling, as the occasional bit of tobacco fell down between her legs. She tapped the butt of the cancer stick against the counter, uttering a word of, "Thanks.", as the bartender gave her the can she ordered. Almost reflexively, Kanna reached for her jacket pocket... Then the one on her butt. Still nothing... Had she forgotten the lighter at home? Hopefully not... "Tch...", she uttered in annoyance, proceeding to check her other pocket. Words: 450

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ To be fair as she was looking at the fish swimming around her hips and feet and everywhere else in the corner bar, she was glad to know that she wasn't fancy-dressed for a party either. Wearing an oversized black sweater from a fancy brand and a light blue pair of shorts made her look exactly as she had planned: an evening of relaxing. She still couldn't reach the solution in her mind about why she said yes. For she was far too afraid that someone would stop this party as she had not seen any functional adults here and she did not want to be arrested, suspended from school or her apartment for that matter. Which was also the reason why she did not want to drink at first at all but the nasty look, which wasn't even the right description but the look as if she was a dumb teenager made her order a long island anyway.
She looked at the person next to her who had ordered something directly after her and was concerned if she wanted to try and befriend this person. That was her first goal, befriend people. Good people so the Burning Lady would be able to shut her mouth and to never get out. She would be the good one and these people around this huge penthouse did not seem to be the people that Rowan should hang out with, in the first place.
The black haired girl sighed a little too loud and heard the thud of the glass on the glass counter, she looked up at the long island and told herself that after this one drink she would leave. She, however, noticed the movement of the person next to her and her small sound of disappointment. At first, she thought that she perhaps forgot her money but then Rowan realized that it was not necessary to pay, even if she had never thrown a party in her father's mansion, she knew this lady who invited her did not care about any coins as she seemed to have enough. "Are you okay?" Was perhaps the best approach, making herself ready to get a snobby answer. |

Like her, everyone else in this party seemed chill and relaxed, she really didn't expect to find girls powdering their nose in the bathroom like she often did at those drum parties. Kanna for one didn't care much about cops coming in and busting the party, though she probably should considering the tiny bag inside her tobacco ounce. She also didn't care about having school in the morning; if she failed to wake up too bad. She'd take the afternoon classes and study the subject at home. Just as important was meeting some folks in this new neighborhood. Gramps moved her to an arguably better home closer to her new school, so she still knew nobody around. The girl's voice drew her attention, calling out to her. Kanna's first look came almost as a glare, but that didn't really mean any change in her usual expression. That's how she always looked as she might have noticed beforehand. She shifted her body just enough to turn to the girl slightly, enough she might catch a whiff of that faint scent of cheap deodorant lingering off her body (showing at least enough care to pick a woman's fragrance) devoid of the lingering scent of tobacco... Not for long after this cig, if she could light it up. "Yeah, just peachy...", Kanna sighed, shrugging off her annoyance and instead shifting her eyes to the stranger. She looked pretty actually, much prettier than the hacker initially gave her credit for. Not to say she was so shallow as to shoo away people if they failed to conform to a certain standard of look, but she obviously didn't mind fair looking company, up to a point. Thus, she turned to the woman in earnest, hooking her left feet behind her right leg and resting her elbow on the counter, "I don't suppose you have a lighter on ya?"The barest trace of resignation appeared on the blonde's otherwise deadpan face, as she raised an eyebrow and tattooed left hand in earest, as if showing exactly why she needed the lighter. Meanwhile, her left hand remained busy on the cool can of sugary Blu Ox. Tsck…She ignored the highball glass and instead brought the can freshly opened can straight to her lips, drinking two long gulps of the energetic sweetness, and finally resting her jade green eyes on the woman. Despite her casual look, she had a significantly more cared for appearance than Kanna herself. Her skin, for starters, looked much smoother, pristine and unmarked by any sort of body art. That she could see any way... Words: 420

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Perhaps she was trying too hard to be good, too hard to figure out how to drown out the Burning Lady instead of being herself and accepting herself. But right now it would not be so easy to shrug that off. All she wanted was to enjoy being here, she did not even need to make friends. To be fair she wasn't sure if she wanted to be friends with such beings of the extreme. Which was a weird thing to think, she could blow things up if she touched it. Thank god she controled her power enough, her mother had made sure of that and she missed her because her mother at this point was the only one that seemed to understand her and to be able to soothe the Burning Lady.
But right now she was focusing on a conversation next to her, the girl, from around her age seemed to struggling to find something and now her brown eyes fell onto the cigarette that she was holding and Rowan understood or well made a wild good guess; no lighter. She felt her arrogance flare up the moment the blonde stared at her with something that could be described as a glare but she told herself to calm down and that there was no need to immediately defend herself. She pushed a lose strain of hair behind her ear and heard the word peachy. Everything sounded anything but peachy but she couldn't help but smile a bit, trying to hide her laugh. She also felt a jealous streak as she noticed the jade coloured eyes, damn that was beautiful, she wouldn't mind staring into them for a long time as long as Rowan forgot that they were eyes from somebody else. She had plain brown ones. No one ever described them as the purification of chocolate or something.
"I indeed have no lighter." Rowan said, realizing she had to answer, right now she was less nervous, she had decided what she could do. If she focused well enough she could move the air as to form a spark above her fingers, so she held up her hand, took a deep breath and relaxed her stand, having not being able to grab a chair yet. She leaned her left hand on the bar and made a click sound as she snaped her thumb and middlefinger, a small flame appeared from the small explosion that she made. Thanks to the fact that it was small it only sounded like a crackle, the whole room wouldn't be scared or surprised, besides quirks were a danger to use for some people but if the barman would shut his mouth and the two people on either of her side and the blonde, Rowan would be fine. After this she would have to quickly gulp down the long island, the Burning Lady needed to shut up in her mind. Giving her situations about what if the room burned down.

This chick didn't look like too unpleasant a company, but Kanna knew better than relying on first impressions. Didn't look like the overly annoying social butterfly, unlike all too many people their age. For all her antisocial nature, she recognized the need having a few connections here and there, especially among her neighbors. Thankfully, she soon found her earlier assessment at least partially correct... Asking the woman for a lighter felt almost like wishful thinking, the girl really didn't give off that smoker vibe... Or smell... But when she held up her idle fingers and promptly produced a small flame from the tips "Oh...? That's a convenient quirk.", noted Kanna, brow raising ever so slightly before she leaned in. Her defenitely looked genuine even though she was far from expressive about it. Instead, she brought the cancer stick to her lips and took a good long drag, a trail of smoke forming on the tip as it lingered over the burning woman's flames, "Thanks..."Exhaling all that smoke finally caught the bartender's attention however, and not in a good way "Oi, oi, what the hell are you doing...?", grumbled the bartender, interrupting her right away. Shaking his head, he pointed his thumb at the large, nearby glass doors, slid open and revealing a rather appealing terrace, "This isn't a nightclub; go smoke outside.""Sure, sure...", she shrugged, more apathetic than annoyed as she hopped off her stool. She hooked her thumb under the ripped up lower edges of her shorts, tugging it back down over her butt for comfort more so than modesty. Even though every extra inch of skin revealed makes guys pushier and she'd rather not deal with that much hassle. Even if her unapproachable look alone could scare most away, some apparently felt drawn to it. With her clothes adjusted, but no less messy looking than before, she proceeded to grab her beverage and make way outside... Though not before casting a single look at the fire girl, uttering an almost indifferent invitation as she nodded towards the terrace, "Come on."She could care less if the woman followed or not, but not disliking her presence was reason enough to speak up. Once outside, a few other guys and girls stuck around for a similar reason as Kanna, but that's about it. This clear, summer night felt comparatively warmer, but the occasional breeze blew far too chilly for a truly enjoyable outdoor evening. That's why she brought her jacket at least... Words: 400

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She had to calm down before the glasses would blow up and that would be a nasty thing to recover from. Even a small class could give a good amount of glass splinters. She was actually very sure she would be fine with her powers. Heck, she had used this quirk since a child and she had learned to control it instead of blow up everything when she felt angry or anything. The power was to make an overreaction, something she was now absolutely doing but she told herself to calm down and to ignore the annoying voice in her mind that told her everything that could go wrong and that she would have to give in and look as she blow up parts of this place and set it on fire. Those thoughts, Rowan had given that voice her own name; The Burning Lady.
However, she had gone well enough to ignore the Burning Lady and with that to control her quirk to only have to light the cigarette that the blonde was holding. She never had the urge to smoke but it sure did look cool while the blonde girl did it. It made her look so much more like an adult than Rowan with her childish thoughts and her jealousy of the casual look that she viewed or those beautiful green eyes. "No problem." She said more casual than she actually felt. It was getting better but since she got to live by herself and went to U.A. she felt as if she turned out to be a bigger baby then she ever had foreseen. Her thoughts were quickly shattered when she heard the barman speak loudly and she turned to look at him, noticing he talked to the blonde next to her. A lot was allowed in this apartment or well penthouse, but not smoking. She pouted while overthinking that and shook her head as if breaking a very expensive item was not bad but smoking was.
Her brown eyes turned back to the girl she was shortly talking to, so casual as she jumped off the barstool and Rowan followed her hand gesture before quickly looking up and away to the people that she did not recognize. She was surprised when she heard a 'come on' and looked at the spot where Kanna sat and looked at where she stood now, quickly grabbing her long drink glass, "Oh okay." She said quite dump. What an impression she would make. As soon as she stepped out on the terrace, she felt a cool breeze in her face. Inside was definitely too warm for the outfit that she was wearing or well the sweater, her shorts were perfect. She looked at the few stars that she could see with all the lights out here, she pulled her long black hair out of the knot before tying it back up again."Did you live here long?" She decided to make a small talk and see how far the blonde would go in a conversation. |

Kanna only scarcely considered the difficulty involved in controlling a fiery quirk like that. Her own quirk was relatively harmless in unarmed combat, with both the hacker and her foe stripped of all electronics. Sure, it probably wasn't easy, but she seemed to be doing alright for herself, creating such a tiny flame without completely blowing it out of proportion: No doubt any challenge she yet felt resulted from her own mind doing the exact same thing. At least, that's what Kanna might say if she knew what was going on in that head of hers... Assuming the girl actually prompted for her opinion which she had no real reason to. She did meet the girl's gaze whenever she caught her looking back; the girl did have a rather pretty shade of light brown, and deserved that much credit. Perhaps she reciprocated Kanna's curiosity in some way, but though the blonde might infer that much, she completely missed the apparent awkwardness of the girl's reaction, failing to notice how she probably didn't expect to be urged along outside: "Yeah, just moved in...", she admitted, nodding as she indeed had only moved about a week ago, yet idly finding herself watching as the fire girl let her hair loose before tying it back up. So straight and flowing... She probably spent a lot of time grooming her hair, and at times Kanna considered if she shouldn't do the same. Nah, too much trouble... Ultimately she took a seat at one of the unoccupied lounge chairs, casually stretching one leg forwards as she took another long puff of her cigarette, "You too...?"Currently, Kanna yet had to deal with the paperwork and all the other nasty bureocracy that came with changing schools; thankfully, she could do most of it online. Regardless, meeting a fellow quirk user also meant she had to tread lightly. They'd never met before so she'd have a hard time figuring out what passed for natural to Kanna, and yet the girl measured every bit of information she gave her: This girl could easily be a villain, a hero, or anything in between. As she didn't know which, the hacker naturally prepared for the worst. "This looks like the kind of party you throw when you're either a new neighbor, or find yourself with loads of them...", mused the hacker, wondering how the girl beside her seemed alright, and what kind of answer she might give. She took a good gulp of her energy drink, then set the can down next to the lounge chair, folding the now idle arm under her head, a better resting place to gaze skywards... Words: 420

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ To make it less awkward or well Rowan believed it was only awkward for herself, she decided to ask something. At first, she had not wanted to be here, right now it might give her something interesting. She was not altogether sure but the good thing was and that she had to keep in mind; home was just around the corner. Or more like her apartment because at this point that still did not feel at home, the mansion did. She wondered shortly how her mother was doing on her own if you did not count the servants or well the people that got paid to take care of them. Would her father perhaps be more home? She shook out her long black hair before turning it in a knot again. she was glad that no one was fancy dressed and she should not feel bad about her own outfit. She checked her pocket carefully but her keys were still there. She suddenly got a vibe that it was strange that everyone or presumably everyone was in the penthouse. What if some idiot thought about raiding the apartments now? It was her anxiety talking and she should shush that and thus make a conversation.
So she asked Kanna if she was new here in the building as everyone seemed to be mingling with someone but them. Now they were together though. Rowan took a sip of the long island and was surprised how it still tasted like regular ice tea. If her mother would see her now, she would definitely not approve and here Rowan had promised to behave. She followed Kanna her example to sit on the lounge chairs that were available. She looked shortly at the mixture of arms and legs on the third chair but it was far away from her and rather quiet that she did not see a problem. She only found it disgusting to be able to use so much fake affection, she blamed alcohol on a party but perhaps it was a pinch of jealousy. The black haired girl turned to Kanna as she answered. A week ago, that was about the same time Rowan came here, perhaps Rowan was here a few days more, she had not seen anyone else move in by the time and if she counted she would be here about 9 or 10 days. "Yea, me too, around the same time. Trying to stand on my own two feet and moving to a new school."
She looked around, especially at the light up the skyline. She looked more or less down to earth again when the blonde spoke, her way of thinking about this party was cute but Rowan believed this was definitely a party to flaunt about having enough money, yet there might be a tingling that told Rowan a positive thing, perhaps it was to meet the new residences. However, since no one asked her if she was new except for Kanna and no one else seemed to care, she doubts that. She would have done the exact same if the Burning Lady had gotten her hands on her mind. "I think it might be a way to show how much money you have but also to welcome new people. Else I doubt so many would have shown up anyway." She had no argument to support that, after all, she had been randomly invited and Rowan had shown up too. "I forgot to introduce myself." She tried to come off as more confident as she had done before, in her own eyes that is. "I am Rowan Sakamoto, nice to meet you." |

The only real home Kanna ever had belonged to her and her alone. Her past embittered her to the tried and tested ideals of family, resulting in a girl who unquestionably believed she was better off by herself. She could take care of herself without needing anybody to rely on, and wouldn't have it any other way. As a result, the only houses she could ever call home were no different from the apartment she'd just moved into, small and messy, but cozy the whole way, with hers being the only personality truly reflected on it. "School huh... U.A., I'm guessing...?", answered the hacker, looking around no further than a single cursory glance at the couple that had the fire girl so intrigued. Kanna was used to far more debaucherous sights at the parties she went to, and as she sipped a bit more of her Blue Ox, she could only think of how this looked pretty tame by comparison. She took a few more chugs, letting her eyes linger on her companion a bit longer this time, seemingly growing more accustomed to her presence. Normally, a quirk user should try to keep this information safe, as few villains would enjoy hearing news... But whether or not she answered, she'd eventually comment "Well, it's somewhat predictable, for a new Quirk user in the neighborhood to have been brought in by the new school...", she'd explain her assumption; all but revealing her own affiliation had the girl been aware of Kanna's quirk. At this point she wasn't, though guessing it hardly posed that big a problem, "It's easy enough to get by on your own, just look up the class schedule and textbooks online; and you'll be fine." She didn't really mind the host using the party as an excuse to flaunt their girthy bank account, after all, she got to enjoy the free drinks and somewhat pleasant setting this close to her own home... And so far, perhaps she'd end up taking something out of it too, in the form of a curious new acquaintance. So far she hadn't really found anything annoying about the girl - Rowan as she introduced herself - and that was saying something. Indeed, names mattered very little to Kanna, even though she had no trouble remembering them with her memory. Considering her name was a fake one and her real one carried so many bad memories she hardly considered it hers anymore... Even the name she went by online was chosen so nobody could put a face to it. "Cheers... I'm Kusanagi Kanna.", she finally gave her name, barely even managing a faint smile before she turned up into the stars once more. The alcohol she was currently drinking obviously helped loosen her up a little; it might explain why an obviously antisocial girl might find herself at this kind of party. Kanna paused her speech halfway, taking another long drag of her cigarette, then slowly puffing up the smoke in a thick grey cloud, watching as the breeze scattered it into nothingness. Only afterwards did she finally speak once again, "Just call me Kanna. Guess we're gonna be neighbors from now on." Hopefully the girl wouldn't fall into the trap of adding a "-san" to her name or anything of the sort, Kanna always found those meaningless. She'd much rather people show respect with actions instead of words. Words: 550

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It was actually going surprisingly well. Meeting someone new in this chaotic party that seemed to be all too neutral about everything. It was something wonderful and it felt safe to just hang out, it made it a bit easier in general than being on a constant freak out. She still could not shake the feeling that she could not imagine someone being so friendly that they would invite a bunch of people to a party and simply give them free food and drinks and not want anything from them. Perhaps flaunting money was the real thing, she could imagine herself doing that before as well with her mother. Who would have stopped her for sure. Rowan looked at Kanna and was not sure if she should admit that she was going to U.A. Should you not be careful about spilling the particular information. After all, she was just a first year and that meant she could barely do a thing. That she was able to control this motion was particular because she was not holding anything. So nothing had to explode, she only had to heat up the air and quicking the process, since that's how her quirk worked.
She found it rude to not answer though and she nodded, "Perhaps a bit obvious for everyone that moves to this city." She said wondering now she put it that way if that meant that Kanna moved here too to go to the school. She had not said it out loud and even though Kanna had, she was sure that it was fine. She took another sip from her drink to have something to do, she had not put it down, she did not trust too much of the people around, although it was good to know that her neighbors were far too busy with each other. One day, she would loosen up more, or so she promised herself. It was simply because she knew no one yet. She had made a small assumption about Kanna but did not want to put her mind on it too much, the next sentences in the conversation made her only more convinced. "That's the plan indeed." She did not want to depend on others, she would have to get better first. Surely she wanted to make friends to only get further into the process of being far-far-far away from the Burning Lady.
As she was raised by her English mother, she had forgotten most of the times the Japanese ruling of putting your surname in front of your first name and to use the titles, so Kanna would not have to worry about that. She smiled at Kanna when she gave her the confidence to call her Kanna, this was the point that she remembered. Her father telling her so many times. "Cheers to that."
She might fit better with the rich girls from up here and the rich guys, but she did not want that life anymore so she hoped that well she could keep a bit of contact with Kanna. She looked up again after taking another big gulp of the drink, she wanted to get rid of the glass. She noticed the smoke from Kanna her cigarette as she looked up but it disappeared as soon as it came. She wondered what more she could ask or talk about to Kanna as she was not very good at socializing and she had used most of her starters already. She looked shortly at the cigarette and wondered if it really had the property of calming people down, that's what she had heard her father once told her mother. Her mother had tried to get him to quit smoking, he only told her that there was new medicine and this wasn't like 2001 or something. |

Unlike Rowan, Kanna couldn't really care less if the party host suddenly decided she wanted something in return. The most she'd get is the few couple Yen from all the drinks she'd chug throughout, no way she'd let anybody make her feel indebted so easily. About as easily as the fire girl would spill the beans on what manner of school was she attending, if any at all. What kind of affiliation she truly had thus remained up to imagination. Of course, she wouldn't answer so easily. Kanna didn't even hold it against her, those pink, faintly glistening lips widening into the softest hint of a smile. A sign of respect. She acknowledged Rowan's intelligence, and she wouldn't really spent much time speaking to someone she deemed a complete tool. "I doubt they can shove every new arrival inside that school. Even if the founders would prolly like to try.", she chuckled, putting out the butt of her cig on a nearby ashtray. As she look up at the stars, she couldn't help but think back to what she'd read on the school even before enrolling... Gunning for the top among the country's hero courses, but without admission exams, huh...? Sounded pretty desperate if you asked her. More importantly, the girl had defenitely something between her ears, so she'd be fine. Of this, Kanna had no doubt. And if she had indeed enrolled in Yuuei as a student like herself, then they'd likely see each other tomorrow, or perhaps the day after. Little did she know the two had already been assigned to the same class, so they'd see each other far sooner than either might have guessed. As good few moments of silence, Kanna couldn't help but wonder how Rowan reacted to them. She for one didn't mind lying about lazily like this, occasionally sipping her drink as she once more adjusted her hotpants, whenever she stretched a bent leg right back down. Every so often she'd glance at the dark haired girl, wondering what thoughts she might have bouncing around her head at that point. She seemed oddly interested in her cigarette, but the blonde wasn't about to offer someone a new vice or anything of the sort. If she wanted to smoke, she needed only ask... But she didn't, and in the end, only when she felt her can getting lighter would Kanna finally speak up: "Come on, lets head back inside.", she'd invite, lifting her torso up from the lounge chair. With that couple still making out in pretty much the same position, she couldn't imagine they actually spent such a long time outside, "We gonna need a refill soon enough.", she'd state, all but jiggling the mostly empty can in her hands. | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She did want to be friendly, her goal of the evening but it was so damn difficult to socialize. How did people actually do that? Was it enough from time to time to sit and just listen to each other breathing? To just, yeah way that was for a future where she had friends that she saw the whole time. But the point was that she had no friends and that she could understand right now. She even wondered if she ever had a conversation with her mother because right now she seemed like she would turn mute because of not using her tongue ever. This was going to be fun... at a new school... she should stay home with her private tutor. She felt like a really sad person right now comparing all that and thus she downed the last bit of her ice tea with whatever alcohol all belonged into a long island. It did not hit her yet that she was drinking and that at some point it would hit her. Probably a point too late.
"It might be good to start other schools, throughout the world as well. Like you said, not everyone can be in here." The world was changing with U.A. as a starter for quirk users but would that mean that people would become more confident in using their quirk and thus also use it for bad. She still wondered if someone was breaking into her apartment right now but she shook her head lightly and blew away a strain of hair that fell in front of her face, before wiping it away with her right hand. She wondered shortly if her assumption was right and if it was, there was a possibility she would meet Kanna again. Kanna, who seemed so relaxed and Rowan so tense compared to her, trying to figure out a way of a conversation, hence why the black haired girl looked at the cigarette. Maybe that was something that calmed people down no matter the issue.
She stood up quickly as Kanna invited her back inside and she stopped following her shortly for a few seconds, before continuing to walk, so easy to miss; was she now already starting to be like a lapdog? Was Rowan Sakamoto turning out to be so pathetic already? "Yes, a new drink sounds like a plan." And yet she still wondered what to ask Kanna, in this world, she wondered how rude it would be to ask a girl about a quirk or well Kanna specifically because they spoke more or less about U.A. without using too many words. Family? Too private, and how did you randomly ask a person their hobbies without seeming to interfere into something that was well still so fragile and vulnerable. Perhaps she was overthinking in a major way. "So how did you end up here?" It was the best question she could come up with, "As in at the party, I mean for me it was a random encounter and I am quite curious if that was normal." |

ot so much a matter of wanting to socialize, in very specific case, budding interest in a certain person prompted Kanna to overcome her reclusive nature, allowing her to engage with conversation for a bit longer than the usual "fuck off" when aggravated. She typically had very few friends and most of them online, too far for her to ever consider meeting them, even assuming most of them might want to. Kanna certainly wouldn't, as a fair share of those knew her only as the hacker "Owl", with no clue of her name, gender or age. Around this time, the blonde would finally start feeling the faintly inebriating effects of her beverage, the uplifting rush of her alcoholic energy drink. Unless she had a far greater resistance though, Rowan's would inevitably hit her harder than Kanna. She had, after all, picked an especially strong cocktail. "Yeah... Even now you have far too many folks with quirks and not nearly enough places teaching them how to use them. Might as well just give out guns to everyone and watch people sort it out themselves...", she shook her head, raising a hand to her forehead in a visibly trace of exhasperation, "Perhaps one day Quirk users won't need to fantasize about being heroes to use them. But for now, it's a decent start" Indeed, the whole "hero" idea almost turned her off from Yuuei. But Kanna weighed the pros and cons and concluded she'd rather study to be a hero and use that mastery of her quirk for something else, than study something else and master Dataflow on her spare time. In the end, Rowan didn't ask for a cig or even express interest, and before long they'd moved back indoors. As the cool, fresh air gave way to the thicker saturated heat of partying people, they approached the bar, where Kanna wiggled her empty, held up can, a clear-as-daylight sign to the moonlighting bartender: Bring me another. She listened to Rowan's question even if her eyes were elsewhere, and once the man had spotted and acknowledged her with a nod, Kanna's gaze returned to the fire girl: "Nothing interesting really... This chick walks up to me as I'm coming home from a grocery run, and just invites me over.", she answered, running her spaced out fingers like a comb above her hear, brushing her hair back before leaning slightly over the counter, resting her elbows upon it, "I'd ask you the same, but I'm pretty sure you got here exactly the same way.", she smirked softly, tilting her head, "...Right...?" Now the real question was, would she order herself another long island? Kanna couldn't help but let that jade gaze linger on her, as if looking for obvious signs of inebriation. | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She had not expected such a wobbly feeling as she stood up to follow Kanna back into the penthouse. She held on to the back of her own chair and leaning her left leg against the table that stood next to her still. She had no idea that it was difficult to stand upright and she clenched her hand tightly around the glass she was holding, no need to drop it and feel glass shards enter her skinny legs. Right, this was something she had wanted to avoid but on one hand it was fun to do for once. She swallowed shortly and looked at the ground, noticing how it was shaking a bit. Perhaps it also had helped that she had barely eaten a single thing. She had wanted to go downstairs to the grocery store to buy some food as she was hungry.
She had not seen if there were any snacks here and besides if there was any, it will probably be a lot of fat and salty snacks that she did not want to eat. "It is a shame that people had to hide their quirks." She muttered still a bit unbalanced but now walking again with more confidence. She was sure that this conversation was not anyone's favourite but the people of their age, almost all would have a quirk, especially in this town probably and no one seemed to have to hide it. Though Rowan found herself a complete idiot before because she used it so casually, she now found it only more funny. "I found it actually ridiculous that you call it heroes. I mean in general, not you specifically but come on, it sounds like a far off tv series from the 19th's."
And yet here she applied for the hero course so it was a bit of a hypocrite question but well that was Rowan anyway. And every time she looked at Kanna, for as far as she dared to stare at her, she felt like Kanna was exactly the opposite of her, more outgoing perhaps in what she dared to do and Rowan? She rather had a book and sit on her bed to read it or play the violin, no way she dared to get a piercing in her nose, her ears were pierced but that was about it. She was glad when they got towards the bar again so she could hold onto something, she felt like she was exaggerating very much, she was even wearing simple flats because of the quickly running in and out. She normally looked way more sophisticated according to her own opinion.
As she asked how Kanna was invited here, she snickered a little when she heard the story and nodded, which gave her already a light heavy head. "Yes, I was on my way to get groceries and she invited me. I don't even know her name." Thank god she wasn't talking with a slurr yet or anything. She frowned as she looked at the barman who walked towards them, she had no idea what to order, a simple wine would be better. But she had no time to say anything or he told her already that he now knew she wanted a long island and she stared at him with the little bit of fear that she was getting intoxicated. |
