I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings Don't puke, don't puke, don't puke...
He kept repeating that to himself over and over again, the times necessary for his body to comprehend the message and, well... not puke. But what were the reasons for Ryuusei to be worrying so much about vomiting. They were two: Firstly, he was about to ride inside a car for the first time in he didn't even know how long. It was a terrifying experince for Ryuu. Yeah, yeah, a sixteen yearold shouldn't be afraid of such thing but some irrational fears are just that - irrational. Humans have legs so they should only travel using them. At the maximum travel on other things with legs, like horses. Yeah, horse riding would be fine. But not wheels. Not any of that motor engine stuff. Modern times were great in general in Ryuusei's opinion, but he still couldn't get over the bloody vehicles thing. What scared Ryuu the most was that, this particular car ride, was going to take a couple of hours. The destination? Mount Fuji. But why was he going to go there? Well, that was the reason number two for him trying not to puke... ~~ A few days after he got out of the hospital - due to his fight with Jasmine - Ryuu was pacing around the living room of his house while Minato watched some television. On Ryuu's hand he held his phone. He had sent a message to Rin, asking if she wanted to go with him to Mount Fuji in order for them to see the stars together. The girl answered, asking if it was a date. What do I do? What do I do? he mumbled as he walked back and forth in front of the TV. That was when... Let me see that!, Minato said as he stretched his arm and took Ryuu's phone. No no ,dad- what are y-Ohhhhhhhhh you finally asked Rin-chan out?! That's my boy!!! Let me answer this for you my shy kiddo!DAD WHAT THE F- PLEASE STO-THERE!, Minato yelled back in a happy tone, giving Ryuusei the phone. Looking at the screen, the teenager could now read what his father had written: "Of course it's a date! Let's meet tomorrow at Tokyo Park at around 2pm!" ~~ This is the first time I'm on a date... Ryuu though as he was sitting on the bench, holding his stomach with both arms as if hugging himself. Despite the nervous feeling, he was sure of something: I'll tell her today.
So, with the clock almost signaling the time they had agreed on, Ryuusei Igarashi waited for Rinkusu. With him he had a big black mountain backpack with everything they would need. His hair was loose and his earing was a small silver hoop. As for clothes, he chose to be confortable, despite it being notorious that he put care into it: a black hoodie with a white t-shirt underneath it, ripped jeans and brown mountain boots. Now all that he had to to was wait for Rin... and for the car. Notes: It's a date! Words: 513. Tags: Rin Kurama

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The hours leading up to their meeting had been troubling to say the least. At first, Rin had been overjoyed, excited, bursting with a kind of happiness that the girl hadn't experienced before. First, the girl had received his invitation to go out to watch the stars, climbing mount Fuji - at least partly climbing it. Almost jokingly, given that they'd be sleeping outside in a tent, Rin had questioned whether he was considering this a date. Never in her wildest dreams had the girl imagined he'd answer her question with a yes. Their date was to be later the same day, meaning that Rin had to arrange all sorts of things and deliver all sorts of messages. Showering, laying out her best set of casual clothes - IE. clothes that could be used for climbing up a mountain without making her look or appear like a tiny cave troll. all the while humming with excitement. The only thing the girl missed, was doing her hair. So, the raven haired maiden had contacted her friends in order to get assistance. First, Elise-chan had received an excited text about Rin going out on a date. While excited, Elise was apparently tied up in arrangements with the principal. Probably related to all the drug incidents. With how hard the nurses were hit, it wasn't surprising if the tiny redhead feared for her own safety. Shrugging, Rin had contacted Haruuhi-chan. That little exchange had resulted in a facepalm of the ages. Haruuhi was beyond high on the drug. Mere moments after having told the tiny female, all sorts of borderline lewd musical tracks had been playing across the school. So, that left only one person whom Rin could trust with the task; Jasmine Noir. Excitedly, Rin had texted the blonde for assistance. Albeit, what Rin received, was something entirely different.Jasmine had returned to their dorm room, visibly on edge, borderline frustrated - or perhaps desperate. It had startled Rin, if not outright scared her. Please don't go. Don't leave me. The words had cut into Rin's being like knives. The words had hurt so badly, it almost resonated within her soul. Even so, Rin could not simply step out and cancel the date with Ryuusei. It wouldn't be right, in any world. Especially not when her excitement was indicative of something more. Rin, in those moments, had given up on looking fantastic. Discarding the idea, she wore a simple pair of short shorts. They reached about halfway down her thighs, leaving everything from just below the knee down to her sports sneakers bare. For her torso, she wore a white t-shirt with black speed-like stripes, underneath a matching windbreaker jacket. The design clearly meant for sports. Something light, easy to move around in, practical. The girl's raven dark hair had been collected into a ponytail, hanging halfway down her back. For rock climbing, her hair may have been a little too long, although, at least she should be able to keep it out of her eyes...Arriving at the entrance to Tokyo park, five minutes early as always, Rin laid eyes on her companion for the day. Ryu-kun, fortunately for Rin, had chosen to go with a more casual approach as well. At least that meant Rin wouldn't feel completely out of place, though she figured climbing in a hoodie would likely be extremely warm for the young Igarashi. Offering him a soft smile, there was a strange mellowness in the sapphire blue eyes. Rin needed to explain the situation to him, as soon as possible. It wouldn't be fair to string him along by the nose, if these latest developments had him uninterested... Somewhere, it would be easier for Rin if Ryuusei would've been a dick about it... but the raven haired girl already knew. This whole mess was going to be more difficult than she could even anticipate, wasn't it?"Konnichiwa, Ryuu-kun. I'm surprised you suggest going by car. I thought you hated those things." Stepping over, Rin soon seated herself besides him on the bench, stretching her legs. Time was just before noon. According to what little she knew, they had a couple of hours by car before reaching their destination. From there, they'd have a couple of hours of climbing. Quite possibly more, if they weren't ascending to the top at incredible speeds... Those hours could quickly become awkward if Rin ruined it early on. Biting her lip, she really wasn't sure how to approach this... Never had Rin encountered romantic love before. Now, out of nowhere, she had to deal with two situations at once, managing as best she could not to break anyone's hearts, while being true to her own...

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings There was actually a reason for the black sweater. It had been a couple of days since he left the hospital since the practice fight with Jasmine and, despite being mostly recovered, the reality was that, well, Ryuusei's body was still in a bad shape. The people at Tokyo hospital and the Quirkers they employed to work in case of extreme injuries made for Ryuusei to recover pretty quick, but there was only so much they can do. From the neck down the skin from the right side of his entire body was still regenerating, so Ryuusei was still mostly covered in bandages - almost like a mummy. As for his left foot - which had its bone exposed during the fight - it had been taken care of but, underneath his boot, Ryuu was wearing a special extra thin cast in order to protect the recovering foot. He could walk, but Rinkusu would probably notice the boy putting much more weight on his right foot and not on his left one. Due to his clothing, she could also only see the bandages if she looked at his right hand or notice the bandages on his right leg from underneath the rips of his jeans. Hello Rin-chan! - he lifted his hand and, with the other one, scratched his own cheek softly - Yeah, I do hate them, but it's easier this way. And it's more comfortable for you aswell, he added. Like on cue, their ride arrived as soon as he finished talking. Hideo, the old man that Minato - Ryuu's father - knew since he was a child was the one on the driver's seat. He worked for the Igarashi family since Lord knows how long and, from all those years, he had become more of a close friend than a simple employee. Ready to go? Ryuu asked as he got up in order to head into the car, masking his own fear. Inside the vehicle, the first thing Ryuusei did as fastening his seatbelt like his life depended on it. Hideo laughed at the sight of it. The two hour drive was simple enough. Ryuusei and Rin talking along the way with Hideo sometimes joining the conversation, mostly to tell stories about a small Ryuu or to learn more about Rinkusu. Arriving at their destination, they got out of the car, said their goodbyes and saw Hideo drive off, promising he would be back the next day by the morning to pick them up. As the vehicle disappeared, Ryuusei exhaled loudly. I can't believe I'm alive... - he said, his cold voice carrying a bit of a "joke" tone - If I was able to do this then climbing the mountain will be a piece of cake, don't you think? At a slow pace, it would take around 4 hours to reach their destination: one of the many midpoints of Mount Fuji. There they would prepare their camping equipment, eat and, hopefully, be able to look at the stars. However, they still had a long climb ahead of them. Notes: --- Words: 512. Tags: Rin Kurama

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The boy's reply was calm, quiet, yet Rin couldn't help but notice it immediately. There was something off about Ryuusei. Narrowing her eyes, tilting her head to the side, Rin couldn't quite put a finger on what the something wrong might've been. For once, the boy seemed completely opposite of how he regularly was. If Rin was to put words on it, the regular Ryuusei had something wrong inside his head, lack of confidence, guilting himself, that sort of thing. This Ryuusei, which stood in front of her in the sunshine, seemed to have mostly cleared out his mind, yet dealt with physical anomalies. There was something about the way he moved which seemed off. Like the weight of his body was completely wrong. However, after observing him rather intensely, Rin concluded that it wasn't something that overly pained him. There seemingly weren't any indications that moving around caused him pain. At least, if the boy was feeling pain, it was minute enough that he could hide it behind his joyous greeting. So rather than pressing the issue, making for an awkward conversation opener, those issues were something Rin dedicated space to in the back of her mind. Something that she'd remember, in case Ryuusei started showing signs of being affected by something.Unlike the young Igarashi, Rin was quite comfortable with vehicles. If the girl would've had more access to mechanics, she likely would've enjoyed learning how they functioned. To Rin, there was something beautiful to the machinery. Machines were predictable, bound by their internal design. Once you knew how they worked, they were like any other tool. With enough mastery, vehicles could even function akin to an extension of their body. At least, thats how Rin imagined how pro racers felt. I need to know my car. There was something endearing about them referring to a piece of machinery, as if cars had traits like living people. The car is moody today. Perhaps, with time and the right connections, Rin could have someone show to Ryuusei exactly how it function. At least, when it came to Rin, fear was often bred by a lack of control. Control over cars was something that could be taught, just like humanity conquered darkness with flame.Their little ride to the destination was filled with idle smalltalk. Rin, quite aware of how Ryuusei felt travelling like this, was attempting to keep him distracted for as much as possible. Showing him things on the phone. Discussing potential changes in the heroic climate. Explaining what had happened with the drugs that were loose at Yuuei. The more she could keep his attention away from what frightened him, the better. As they reached their destination, Rin assisted as much as she could with unpacking the things they'd need. Two backpacks with various equipment. Between them, they were carrying a full tent, safety equipment, camping gear and food. It wasn't exactly a light load by any means... When Ryuusei took on his backpack, Rin eyed him again... Now that they were out here, the time felt right to at least address what she had seen. Especially as he was asking whether she believed climbing the mountain would be easy. "Ryu-kun, I've spent a lot of time with Sophie-sensei in the infirmary, addressing injuries and... You're almost limping... You didn't seem to be in pain, but... Do you want me to carry the backpacks?.. It'd be real bad if.. something happened." Rin offered quietly. The girl was not telling Ryuusei that he was weak or anything of the sort. Merely, that getting to the top was a team-exercise for them... and with him in a poor condition, Rin felt she had to offer something to the team, if they were to get there in one piece. It was a little something Yoruhi had taught her.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings This is going to suck... he immeadiately thought to himself as he began picking up all of the equipment they had to carry up the mountain. The pain was bearable - especially with the medication he had been prescribed - but all the extra weight made for the burnt area area of his back and his damaged right leg and left foot to hurt like crazy at times. The doctors did say no physical activity or any other significant effort. That was probably when Rinkusu noticed it. He really wanted to go on that date, that's why he didn't speak about his injuries - he knew Rin, which made him aware that, if he had spoken about it, the girl would probably resist the idea of going to Mount Fuji in order fo Ryuusei to rest his body. She really was a perceptive and highly aware person... well, at least to anything that involved her are of expertise. If he was any other type of guy he would probably be insulted by Rin's offering. "Me? Help? Who the hell do you think I am?!" Some sort of response manly response like that. But that wasn't Ryuusei Igarashi. The sixteen year old knew his limitations quite well, especially in the condition he was in. Besides, there was a good chance that, despite her tiny and fragile composition, Rin was way more physically adept than him. Yeah, something like that is probably better - he responded to Rin - Afterall we don't want to arrive up there when the sun is already up again. However, he also didn't want Rin to carry the burden of, well, carrying everything. So, he asked her to lay down the things she was holding. After she did that, Ryuu began unpacking and moving things from one bag to the other, like he was playing some kind of tetris game. What he was doing was, in reality, shifting the weight inside each backpack. It was now more balanced, so that Rin was carrying the heavier stuff but, at the same time, being bareable for the girl; the same was applied for Ryuu, that was carrying a lighter load compared to the girl but, at the same time, carrying more stuff than her in total. Having finished organizing all of their stuff, he gave Rin her stuff with a smile. Team work makes the dream work... It's something like that, right? I'm not quite sure, seeing Ryuu trying to socialize despite his apparent lack of skill at such thing was always, at least, midly funny. And so, after all that, they began climbing. Notes: Up they go! WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin was not quite sure what she expected to hear from the youngest Igarashi. A few weeks prior, Rin was certain that he'd have refused to really comment on anything, probably suggesting that they'd get moving. That is, if the boy had even remotely dared invite her anywhere a couple of weeks past. Something within Ryuusei had changed. Thus, predicting what he would do, was difficult. Had he been like Jasmine, there'd likely have been some complaining about I'm strong, I don't need pity, rawr! Resulting in the blonde struggling the whole way towards the top, yet feeling a surge of accomplishment over having completed the task. For Yoruhi-san, Rin ssupected he'd have dumped as much weight on her as he possibly could, enjoying an easy road to the top. Not so much because he'd be in pain, but because Rin suspected that freedom of movement, by not being weighed down by the bags, was something Yoruhi would've jumped at the chance to experience. Rockclimbing is obviously more fun, if one can climb really fast. Even so, Rin knew he'd be right there to assist the moment she struggled. That's just the carefree type of person he was. For Ryuusei, asking for help would've never happened on it's own. So now, as the help was offered, Rin simply observed him with her sapphire blue ovals. How exactly would Ryuusei react..?
Rin took note, that he wasn't going to explain what had happened. Given how he was carrying himself, it seemed like it had been serious, yet was taken care of. Rin was at the very least certain, that neither Minato nor Hiroko would've let their son go rockclimbing in a condition where it could endanger either him or Rin. Still, his sentence all but practically confirmed that something was wrong. So, he accepted her help. Blinking a little confusedly, the youngest Igarashi began re-structuring the contents of the backpacks, giving Rin a heavier load. Flabbergasted, stunned, Rin had been expecting many things. Being told what was wrong, being given excuses, having him insist on carrying more weight than her to be a gentleman... but receiving no explanation, yet having him admit it'd be a better idea for her to carry more..? Shaking her head, it took a few minutes to sink in, but if Ryuusei was more comfortable this way, then she was not one to complain; It had been her suggestion, afterall.
Swinging the backpack over her shoulders, Rin did her best to suppress a groan. This loadout was definitely heavier than the initial backpack. For a girl her tiny frame, even more so. Yet, as long as she was capable of lifting it, Rin was certain that her stamina would win out in the end. Even if it wa s going to be several difficult hours ahead of them. A few inspirational words left Ryu-kun. It was strange seeing him this cheerful, especially considering he was in pain... "I think you're meant to say that after we've reached the top. You're just going to jinx us saying it at the bottom." Offering him a cheeky smile, Rin felt more comfortable teasing him slightly... Something had.. changed. Though, as they began climbing and the weight of the backpack truly set in, Rin wasn't teasing much anymore.......Four hours. Four excruciating hours, even with them having had several breaks. Getting over the edge, up onto the plateau, Rin was sweating like there'd be no tomorrow. Practically crawling along the rocky cliff, the backpack was quickly dumped to the side. Muscles were so incredibly sore. Digging into the backpack, Rin withdrew a bottle of water, immediately emptying the whole thing. Most of it was drank, while about a fifth of the bottle was poured over her head. The backpack was pulled closer, as Rin raised her head onto it... "...Just give me like... Five minutes... To catch my breath... Then I'll help... with the camp.." Rin's sentences were broken into pieces. It was clear that the raven haired female had very little left to give. Despite lying on rocky ground, with only the backpack to function as a pillow, Rin somehow drifted off into sleep. Indicated by deep, drawn out breaths, if she was left to lie where she were, the stiffness in her limbs would kill her when she woke up. For a tiny girl, carrying that much weight, Rin had done an excellent job...
...but for the next thirty minutes, the only thing she'd be doing, was getting a quick, refreshing nap. Timewise, it was still only late afternoon. They'd have several hours to setup the camp, prepare dinner and get comfortable, before the stars would start shining in the sky above.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings It took four hours for both Ryuusei and Rinkusu to reach the point of the mountain they had planned to set camp in for the night. They path wasn't really that difficult - just long. Being a turist attraction, it was made in order for even children to be able to make it in a rahter easy way. However, due to the time, the place was empty as they arrived. Oh, and it wasn't really common for people to camp there and, because of that, make the climb with camping equipment. Arriving at the designated location, Ryuu was more in pain than what he was tired. What hurt more was his left foot - all that walking was the lasst thing the doctors wanted him to do. He could also feel the skin from his right leg and torso's right side burning, but that was actually quite bearable, with Ryuu knowing that he would just have to change the bandages on the next day when he was back at home. However, in opposition to him, Rin seemed like she had just finished a small marathon. "...Just give me like... Five minutes... To catch my breath... Then I'll help... with the camp.." I'll take care of everything, don't wor-As he looked back to saphire eyed girl, he ssaw her already lying on the floor, sleeping from exhaustion. Seeing her state, Ryuu let out a soft smile. The girl hadn't complained not even once during the climb, but it was obvious that the weight she was carrying got too much for her. So, in order for her to rest, Ryuusei started to work on the camp. First, he built the tent. Once he was done with that - sleeping bags inside and all - he picked up Rin from the ground and, gently, placed her inside the tent for her to rest better. Then he started a fire: dug a little hole, placed some rocks around it and, with some wood, started it. After that, he took the rest of the things out, like food and drinks. When Rin woke up and got out of the tent, she would see Ryuu back turned to her, being seated near the fire while making marshmellows. And the sun was starting to fade. Notes: --- Words: 379. WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy How long had Rin been sleeping for..? When the girl finally came to again, she was on her back inside a tent, lying comfortably on top of an unrolled sleeping back, which in turn laid on top of a fuuton. It wasn't the most comfortable resting place, but it was a million times better than where she had gone to sleep an hour or so earlier. The sound of flames burning through wood, the crackling, a strange music to wake up to. Rin felt stiff like a board, but at least she was capable of moving without tears welling up in her eyes. Had she been sleeping straight against the rock, she'd probably so stiff that moving would be an impossibility. Crawling out the tent, feeling a bit like she had been risen from the dead, she took a seat besides Ryuusei. Noticing the prepared stick, Rin quietly held it up besides him, so that he could put a marshmellow on the tip... The two of them functioned well without needing to communicate. Often times, words only meant to make things more difficult. Just like the words that were etched into Rin's heart. Words that the girl needed to somehow convey in a manner that made sense. It was such a mess, in honesty. Slowly waving the marshmellow stick through the flames, their flickering lights were dancing in the sapphire ovals that was the raven haired female's eyes. The stray flames floating into the air, as small burning pieces of wood were lifted by winds, danced in her eyes, making looking into them appear, almost like looking into the night sky itself."Ryuusei-kun. There are a few things I need to let you know." The way it was spoken sounded so incredibly ominous, despite Rin offering him a smile to dispell the illusion. Pulling back the stick, Rin blew cold air onto the marshmellow, trapping the candy between two biscuits, almost like a roasted toasty sandwich. This was something almost any child would've done around a campfire at some point in their life. It was a sweet setting. "...I love you." Rin said it bluntly, looking into his eyes, offering him a soft, warm smile. Raising a single hand, as to indicate that she wasn't quite done talking. That, she'd appreciate greatly if he allowed her to finish. "...Your kindness, your smile, the way you always try your best.. How I saw you keep moving forwards... Growing to become a person I could see as a hero one day?.. I love all of it.." The confession of love had a bit of a bittersweet tone to it. Not so much because of the words that were spoken, but because of the ones that remained yet unspoken. "I have no experience with love, and I cannot tell if I love you as a friend, or as something more." It was the honest truth. Love was a complicated feeling for a girl that had spent her entire life locked away behind bars. Experiencing love for anyone else was... Exhillarating, but also extremely terrifying. "I came here with you, in the hopes that I could find out, because... I love Jasmine Noir too. Just before I came here, my roommate asked me, begged me, not to go, but.. I had to come here. I had to see you." Lowering her head, she was embarassed. Embarassed that their night, their date, was to be made... something else than what she had hoped for or intended, when she had accepted.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings It was nice there. In the mountain, in front of a warm fire and in excellent company, the stars watching from above. If a perfect night existed, it would be close to this one. He didn't break the silence when Rin got out of the tent and sat next to him. Instead, he just kept doing his thing. Putting a marshmellow on the stick that Rin was holding, then preparing on for himself. He had eaten a few already, but his stomach still demanded more. So, in the quiet of the night, he continued to slightly burn the snack. The silence, however, was short lived. Rin had something to tell Ryuu. He just nodded, waiting for the girl to continue. What might such thing be? Looking at the girl, her looking at him, Rin's next words were clear. "...I love you." There was surprise in Ryuusei's face. Also a slight smile. Could that really be true? Could that really be... real?!Ryuu didn't reply straight away, waiting for the 1-A Class President to finish what she was saying. They were the most beautiful words somebody had ever said to and about Ryuusei, but things weren't quite straightforward - happiness never is, it seemed. Apparentely, Rin was struggling with her own feelings: first, because she didn't know what type of love was the one she was feeling for the honey eyed teenager; second, because she also loved someone else - Jasmine Noir, the girl that Ryuu had fought recentely, unaware that also she had feelings for Rinkusu. Hmm. - he made the slight noise before finishing eating the marshmellow he had on the stick he was holding. Then, after putting the stick on the ground, he leaned back, supporting his body with his arms while he looked at the sky - Well... - he turned his head to Rin, smiling softly - I love you too, Rin-chan.
It was the first time he said such thing outloud. Hell, it might've been the first time he conviced himself that that was, in fact, what he felt for the black haired girl that he met on his first day at Yuuei. It was turthful, honest, sincere - it was what his heart felt. He looked back at the stars. I'm happy that you came, especially because it seems that you're in quite a predicament - knowing Rin, loving two people at the same time would be hard, since she would never want to hurt a friend and, in such situation, either Jas or Ryuu would always be sad depending on Rin's decision - I can't really help you figure out what you're realy feeling for me or what to decide, but I can tell you one thing... - he looked back at Rin again, smiling even brighter than before - ... whatever happens, I'll always be happy for you and stay at your side.Notes: --- Words: 480 Tags: Rin Kurama
