I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings One had to look closely and with attention, but one would surely find it if he searched calmly and with patience.
The abandoned theatre of Tokyo was hard to find, but it once was one of the biggest attractions that the city had to offer - for those who knew where to look, obviously. On the height of its popularity the masses would gather on the street and the line of entry would go around entire blocks. Many weren't able to get in and the wealthy were willing to pay double - sometimes even triple - than the normal price of attendace to just be able to secure a seat inside the small space. The theatre - named 'Q-Zone' by the regular attendees - was a legal space, but as for the plays that it hosted... not so much. Theatre was slowly dying and decreasing in popularity, specially in a big and modern capital like Tokyo, where new technologies were the norm. Quirks, however, presented a big opportunity to inovate the business. That was exactly what the owner of that small not so fancy theatre in one of the most unkown zones of Tokyo thought when Quirks were becoming increasingly more common in the area. Motivated to gain more money that he could dream of and reinvent theatre as a genre while making it the most popular that it had ever been, the non-named man began searching for actors and actresses that manifestated Quirks. A hard-job, especially taking into account of the tensions of the time, but one that he accomplished. Soon enough the first ever play involving Quirks was staged. Then the second, then third and so on... At each play, the popularity of the Q-Zone was getting bigger and bigger... But as popularity increased, the risk of hosting the plays also became higher and the chance of having authorities learn of the illegal activity inside of the Q-Zone was quick to become more than just a chance. It then become inevitable that government forces charged inside during one of the plays. Attendees arrested, Quirkers taken into custody for experiments, rumors of some casualities that were made hidden and the myth of the man in charge of the theatre, who was never caught. On the underground scene, the night became known as "The Night Where the Flame Died", a reference to the play that was being staged druing the police storming - an original play about a young female fire-Quirker that wished to become a Hero.
The Q-Zone was now basically invisible, with only very few knowing its story. Ryuusei, however, was one of them. From what he had been told, a member of his mother's family was part of the Q-Zone regular crew and one of the very few Quirkers that were able to escape The Night Where the Flame Died. When Ryuu was little he went there to play hide-and-seek with Yaso, watch her play the piano or to be on stage while pretending to be an actor in front of his sister. Today, however, he was going there with someone else.
Back against a fence that had a warning saying "Entry Prohibited", Ryuusei waited. He was wearing his regular earing but, contrary from when he went to school, his hair was pulled back into a ponytail. As for clothing he was wearing a slightly oversized plain white button-up long sleeve shirt, black pants and shoes of the same color. On his hand he was holding at his phone. Shining on the screen there was one contact: Rin.
"I'm already here. If you can't find it just call me. See you soon! - Ryuu."
There, waiting, a weird thought came through his mind. It was a normal day that he was going to spend with a friend, but...
What if I want more than that?

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin had been invited out, by Ryuusei, to a mostly abandonned theater building if she understood his intentions correctly. Every single aspect of that reality had been confusing, surprising and strange, leaving the girl uncertain of whether she wanted to go. Of course, being the class president and vice president respectively, the two of them had often been spending time doing things, so the concept of spending time outside school doing stuff was not foreign. Mostly it was work-related. Other times they had done smaller things, typically hanging out by the dorm rooms or visiting his parents on occasion. Hiroko-san and Minato-san were both such pleasant introductions to Rin's life. In a strange twist of fate, they almost functioned like surrogate parents. Rin could've sworn she had gotten more general text messages from those two than she had gotten from Ryuusei. It was quite endearing, having them care for her well being in such a manner. Still, an invitation by Ryuusei, to such a remote location, was a little odd, unexpected. Rin however, was well aware that Ryuu-kun wasn't one to get up to no good business. So all questions of legality were covered, as far as she was concerned. Therefore, the curiosity easily overcame the worries, eventually resulting in Ryuu-kun receiving a sure, I'll tag along.
A few moments before arriving, Rin replied to his text, assuring him that she was right around the corner. I've got the address on the phone's gps. I'll be there in a few minutes! Not long passed between then and Rin's appearance. Arriving on scene however, the vibes that she was receiving immediately changed. Ryuu-kun was leaning against a fence, with a clear entry prohibited sign. It almost appeared like Ryuu-kun was planning to break and enter, something that seemed completely out of character from his regular self. It almost seemed like he was being a bad boy. Approaching him slowly, with calm steps, Rin tilted her head to the side, inspecting him curiously, trying to understand if something had happened. Concluding that he seemed mostly normal, a friendly remark soon left her lips, a soft grin coloring her expression. It was abundantly clear that she was teasing him a little for his choice of locale. "...What happened to you, Ryuu-kun? I'd have expected this from Jasmine-chan, or Yoruhi-kun, never from you..." Feigning a bit of disappointment, Rin soon turned her gaze to the fence, looking beyond at the building, wondering... "Is this some kind of theater treasure hunting?.. What could possibly be in there..?" The Rin that Ryuu had initially met, would've been far too timid to break any rules, such as entering this place. With Jasmine-chan and Yoruhi-kun pushing boundaries, Rin had learned that taking chances and experiencing certain risks could be great learning experience and unforgettable moments.
Waiting patiently, Rin was letting Ryuusei lead the way. Watching him carefully, she was trying to understand. Normally, the somewhat sheltered and introverted boy never suggested doing anything, never really showed passion for anything. So why, of all things, had an abandonned theater gotten him so... determined?.. Rin could almost feel the air around him, as if he was focussed on something.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings "I've got the address on the phone's gps. I'll be there in a few minutes!"
She's coming, the sudden realization that Rin was almost arriving at the previously agreed location popped into Ryuu's mind as soon as he read Rin's response to his own text message. And, with that realization, came many other thoughts.
Was my message weird? Maybe she felt like I was pressuring her or implying she was late... Maybe she thought I was saying she wasn't capable of finding it on her own... Oh no, that wasn't the point, I should clear that up.
Overthinking the whole situation, his fingers shakenly pressed the smartphone's screen in order to write yet another message
Of course! How could I forget the GPS thing? I'm sorry! Take your time, it's still early!
Yeah yeah, this is good... Isn't it? he asked himself while staring at what he had just written.
He was about to press send when, all of the sudden, a very familiar soft voice made it self heard very close to him. Rin must have had been walking in a really graceful manner... that or Ryuu was, in fact, so nervous that he became oblivious to his surroundings. He was quick to put the cellphone on his pocket... but also visibly clumsy. A different kind of Ryuu from what Rinkusu normally saw.
Yeah, yeah... - he laughed nervously, rying to get back to his normal self - Maybe I really am spending to much time with Yoru, he joked back at the girl.
He got his back of the fence and, side by side with Rin, started looking at the "Entry Prohibited" sign along with Rinkusu. From his tone, it seemed like he had gotten himself back together.
Yeah, I've come here so many times that I forget that it's kind of an illegal thing... - he pondered in silence for a little bit before looking at his 1-A classmate with a little smile - I swear that it will be worth though.
He would then go up to the fence and lift up the fence. It was cut in order to make a kind of passage and it was clear that it had been used many times. Once on the inside he held it up in a way that would make it easy for RIn to easily go through.
It was a small path from that fence to the main entrace of the theatre. The builiding was tiny, old and damaged: cracks in the walls, moss everywhere, grass growing under the cemented floor. It was like a small jungle right in the middle of the city. Rinkusu probably was finding the whole scenario even weirder at that point, but Ryuusei made sure too move with confidence and like he knew exactly where they were headed - which he knew.
They would go in throught the main door - the only one in the building besides the back one, which could only be accesed throught the stage.
You ready? he asked right before opening the doors.
As Rin would quickly see, the main door led directly to the auditorium: no entrance, no hallway - just rows and rows of chairs with a stage in front of them. Contrary to the outside, it seemed rather clean. Well, the best that Ryuusei himself could do at least. He usually didn't mind the mess of everything but, after Rin accepted his invite, he made sure to dedicate some days to remove the bigger pieces of dust and mold present in that area. The stage was clenaed and being naturally iluminated by the sun, consequence of a hole in the ceiling. There, Rin would surely notice two things: a classic piano and, not that far away from it, a microphone in a microphone stand (which was mainly a prop since, of course, there was no electricity). It was rather obvious that, at least the microphone, had been put there recently.
What do you think, ready to perform? he smiled once again at her, curious to see what her reaction would be and what she would ask.
Surprises were fun. Actually, that might've been the first that Ryuu had ever done.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin was not sure whether to act surprised, impressed, disappointed or frightened, at how different Ryuusei was acting on this day. For now, all the different lines w ere melding into one, leaving Rin a little perplexed and confused. Rin wasn't aware that Yoruhi-kun and Ryuusei-kun had been bonding at all. In fact, as far as Rin knew, Ryuusei-kun wasn't really interacting with anyone else at all. Tilting her head to the side, inspecting him as he began working on the fence, Rin was beginning to realize exactly how little she knew about this boy. Much like with the texts, objectively looking at their interactions, Rin might know more about his parents than she knew about him personally. "Perhaps. Yoruhi-kun is a fine person to have as a friend, though. A little too straight forward, perhaps, but a good person. We had quite the run of the obstacle course, first week at Yuuei." Rin explained quietly, reminiscing their time together. Shuddering, that obstacle course had so many challenges that had been unpleasant. Despite this, the rag-tag team of Rin and Yoruhi had managed to get through relatively unscathed. Perhaps that is why the two of them had bonded in the manner they had. Instinctively, they both knew they could depend on one another if the sky came crashing down. A fact that seemed to have them, despite being such polar opposite personalities, turn out to be decent friends.Listening to what Ryuusei-kun said, Rin was starting to piece some things together. There was emotions attached to this place. Whatever awaited her inside, had value to the youngest Igarashi. It seemed like as good of an opportunity as any, to get to know a little more about Ryuusei-kun underneath his unassuming exterior. "Huh, you must've come here often if it made you forget." Rin spoke in a quiet, joyous tone, humming softly to herself as she took a few steps closer to Ryuusei. Looking around, the raven haired female made sure that there wasn't anyone around witnessing them breaking the law. Being reported to the faculty as rulebreakers was the last thing a president and her vice needed to deal with. After ascerting Climbing through the cutout that he was holding for her, she got to her feet in the closed off area. Feeling her heart pounding, despite how often she had been doing questionable things, openly breaking the rules still had her body react rather strongly. Trying to distract herself, the sapphire blue eyes rested onto Ryuusei, as she asked him a semi casual question. "I'm curious, why do you like coming here, Ryuu-kun?" ...Following the Igarashi, nodding to his reply, the girl curiously inspected the building. It suddenly made great sense as to why the place was closed off. Cracked walls, moss growing on the exterior. It wouldn't surprise her if the support pillars were about to crumble, making the whole building fall down on their heads if they weren't extremely careful. On the inside however, things seemed completely different. Things were being cleaned, holes were being repaired. It seemed like great care had been put into keeping the place from falling apart. Failing to reply to Ryuusei's question, Rin simply stepped inbetween the rows. Running her fingers across the chairs, she was somewhat entranced by the setting. Within her mind, she could almost hear the music playing, see the guests clap from their seats. Spectacular, absolutely spectacular. The thing that eventually woke her from her little dream scenario, was Ryuu-kun asking whether the girl was prepared to perform on stage. Taken aback, Rin looked at Ryuusei, then to the stage, then to Ryuusei. "I'm.. I'm not sure.. I-It's a real stage... I'm not that good of a performer." Rin stuttered defensively, waving her arms in front of her torso dismissively. Still, the thought of performing on stage, especially when there was no one around to witness, had some level of allure.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings Before they entered the auditorium, while they were walking towards the main entrance, Rin posed a interesting yet personal question to Ryuusei.
"I'm curious, why do you like coming here, Ryuu-kun?"
He wouldn't respond to that if it was asked by any other person. He wouldn't be able to expose that side of him, his hiiden and fragile self. But to Rin... At that point, he could just expose his true side and in a way that wasn't even intentional: with her he was so at ease that, subconsciously, it just felt natural to be one hundred percent honest. Because of that, he was quick to respond. Quick and completly truthful,
My sister and I used to play here before the... - there was a slight pause, the instinct of one hesitanting to talk about something that usually never left his mouth in the form of words - ... well, before the accident. Those were happy times, so when I want to be happy I come here. That's why I like this place.
Rin's quite nodding as a response was good enough. Looking at her face, she seemed to appreciate Ryuu's efforts to open up more.
Once inside, Rin walking and letting her fingers run through the chairs was like seeing a little girl wander into a new world. Ryuusei almost felt bad to break such state with his words, but he still chose to talk. Rinkusu's response indicated that she wasn't expecting such a proposal. On some other day, if they were surrounded by their classmates or some other context, Ryuu would probably just accept that Rin wasn't completly confortable with the situation and walk off, telling her that they could do it on another day.
However, Ryuu was determined since earlier in the day. It had been in a dream, but talking to Yaso days earlier had given a new perspective into things... And, for the first time in a long time, he was willing to accept the unknown - even if that "unknown" was the innocent and playful version of him that he desperately buried every single day.
--
If you do it with a big smile... - Yaso put a big smile on herself -... I'm sure that everything is going to go just fine!
--
I'm sure you are, besides...
It was his voice, but it was... cold? Like a little fire was, slowly but surely, melting the ice... at least in regards to Rin. He approached Rin and grabbed her hand. He was careful to touch her softly, since he didn't want to scare her. While interlocking fingers, he kept walking in the direction of the stage at a quicker pace. While doing so, he looked back at her with a big smile, speaking before turning his head again.
... it will be fun!
Walking up the stage, he left Rin in front of the microphone while he went in the direction of the piano, which wasn't that far off. Sitting down, he looked again at Rinkusu, making sure everything was okay.
Sing whatever you want, I'll follow you.
Ryuu shell was clearly breaking. Would Rin's start to break aswell?
Notes: Writing this happy teen boy side of Ryuu is super fun! Words: 526.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy It was the same thing, still plaguing the young Igarashi. It seemed, unfortunately, that everything positive the boy had to share, was seeped in deep melancholic or even negative colors. There was a strangeness to it. Perhaps Ryuusei-kun was feeling guilty over his inability to do anything for his sister. Perhaps loading all their activities together up with rose-tinted goggles was his way of keeping her alive. Rin was not certain. All the girl knew was, that if something similar had happened to her brother, she'd probably be acting equally as irrational. So, Rin instead attempted to add something colorful to the conversation. Trying to prove to Ryuusei that there were others who cared. Looking directly at Ryuusei, Rin beamed like a small sun. "...I'm studying medicine with the school nurse, Miss Sophie." Rin started, the sentence seeming completely unrelated to what he had initially been saying. However, as Rin continued, perhaps it'd begin making a bit more sense. "..I don't know much about comas, other than certain areas of the brain failing to reactivate. Perhaps, when I learn enough, perhaps I could give a try at waking her up. My quirk does have the potential, Sophie-sensei said." That was as simple was it was. Rin knew the Igarashi female, Yaso, was in need of assistance. The raven haired girl was learning medicine to help those in need. Perhaps she would be incapable of making a difference. Perhaps, if she practiced hard enough, Yaso was a life that Rin could save.
A little shocked, Rin hadn't been expecting it. Ryuusei continued to do things that had prior been almost unthinkable. Grabbing her hand, dragging her along, on this day he was almost a torrential flood of water. Overwhelmed, Rin was not sure how to reply to anything. Constantly pushed forwards, before Rin knew it, there she was, standing on the middle of the stage, standing around a little awkwardly. Peering out over the rows of empty seats, the raven haired girl could practically imagine several hundred people looking at her. Heart pounding in her chest, the girl was completely frozen in place. Jaw dropping a little, as if to begin saying anything; Complaining that this was far beyond what she could do, the sapphire blue eyes diverged from the seats to look at Ryuusei.
There he was, with a simple, inviting smile. Doing his very best to support her, his fingers practically placed onto the piano already. Taking a deep breath, Rin repeated a mantra in her head, trying to regain composure. There is noone there. It's just me, singing to myself. I can do this. I know I can. Breathing out slowly, Rin opened her eyes, swallowing once to clear her throat. The girl's lips parted, as a single word emerged into the hall, echoing beautifully from the scene. "Hello, how are you?" As soon as the first words were sung, it seemed like a barrier had been broken. Giving in, Rin began moving around on the scene, naturally. It wasn't exactly well trained, yet, it seemed above and beyond what a normal person could do. On top of that, the girl's voice was clearly refined. There was hidden talent within the raven haired female, undeniably. An uncut gem, that could grow so beautiful. The words came flowing from then on, taking the form of a song. A song that came directly from Rin's heart, filled to the brim with the emotions and feelings that she struggled with... Almost unbeknownst to herself, the song became a medium through which her honest feelings could escape their prison... Without Rin fearing how anyone might interpret them.
...As the song came to a close, Rin found herself with sparkling tears running down the corners of her eyes. How... How had this happened?... "E-eh?" Using the corner of her sleeve, the girl attempted to wipe her tears away...

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings He didn't say a single word for awhile. Sitting on the piano, looking at Rin with a smile on his face and hands softly laying upon the piano keys, Igarashi Ryuusei allowed the silence to speak for itself. He wanted the girl to feel at ease; for her to know that she didn't had to worry about what to sing bcause, whatever she chose, Ryuu would follow. Those words and intentions from the boy were in regards to music, but they could very well also be related to how Ryuusei was starting to feel for the girl. He couldn't pinpoint the exact moment of when it started but, since meeting her, a sensation that he could follow Rinkusu to the end of the world, of wanting to be by her side and support her - even if he didn't fully believe himself to be capable of such thing - started to grow in a fast manner. It was the first time he had ever felt such things in his heart. It was weird, confusing, sometimes ven painfully. But, despite all that, it felt good. Unbelievably good. For someone like Ryuu, whose latest years had been filled with solitude and darkness, Rin was like a light that shone brightly through the clouds. He didn't know what to do about this, but if he was to do what Yaso told him in his dream, Ryuu had to follow his heart - and his heart had already made a decision. When Rin's soft voice began being heard, Ryuusei started to freestyle on the piano. " Hello, how are you?" Despite being far from being the greatest pianist in the world or in Japan... or even in Tokyo, everyone always told Ryuusei the same thing ever since he started to play: "Your ears are musically gifted, make use of them". When he was little he didn't fully understood what such thing meant, but he could make sense of it now. Listening to Rin's tone of voice, the words that she sang, her rhythm and breathing, Ryuusei was quick to adapt himself and make a decision on what type of melody would fit best. The lyrics were inherently sad, but such sadness was hidden in the way that Rinkusu spoke them. Yes, that was what was special about the song - the disparity between what was being said and how it was being said. Let's keep my word then, he thought, referencing how he had told Rin just a few moments ago that he would follow her. And so he did. The melody that he freestyled on the piano was a jazzy one, almost upbeat. The piano must follow the singer and so it was Ryuu's job to support Rin and give her song the meaning she wanted. Some transitions were sloppy, specially because it was the first Ryuu was hearing the song. Some keys also felt out of place since he had to antecipate what notes Rin was going to hit next. But, overall, it sounded good... at least he hoped. But one thing was certain: it took some natural talent to do what Ryuusei had just done. If he wanted to and put the time into it he could really become an amazing pianist. When it was finished, the silence reigned once again. Letting the piano breath, Ryuusei lifted his hands and, still sitting, turned to the position where Rinkusu was standing. Rin was visibly moved by her own song, to the point where tears began slipping down her cheeks. Seeing this, Ryuusei got up and, slowly, walked towards the 1-A Class President. In front of her, with his right one, he softly wiped one the tears running down her face. He thought that there wasn't anything right he could say at that moment and he wasn't particularly good with words. Rin had just told alot through her music, to the point where even her body wasn't ready for it. So, smiling, he expressed, in a different way, what he said before about following Rin's music and support her. I'm here for you, okay?Notes: --- Words: 680.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin's offer to assist Ryuusei with his sister had been completely ignored, perhaps overheard. Either that, or mayhaps the youngest Igarashi wasn't comfortable talking about it to Rin. In the back of her mind, Rin noted how no one felt comfortable talking about the things that bothered them. The things that made them tick. The things that they truly needed help with. For some reason, it seemed a trend among her friend group to fight through the troubles yourself, rather than having it dealt with easier, rather than receiving a helping hand from a caring friend. Rin wasn't super well versed on the social aspect of friendships, but relying on a friend, seemed almost like the sole reason to call it a friendship. The thoughts weren't with the girl long however, as she dedicated her whole being to song. Behind her, Ryuusei chimed in on the piano, doing the best to keep a tempo, making the chords sync up. Rin had never sang with an instrument playing siumltaneously. On their own, neither were impressive. When combined however, it became music.
As their music came to an end, and Rin's emotions were aflare, Ryuusei stepped over in front of the raven haired female. Wiping a tear away, Rin lowered her head, embarassed. Looking at his feet, Ryuusei spoke of being there to support her. Exactly what was the meaning behind those words? Ever since Rin had left her toxic home, things had genuinely been getting better on a daily basis. Sure there had been some troubling times, especially surrounding Nick and Rin's trip to the infirmary, but things were generally quite okay. Strangely, it felt to the girl like Ryuusei was the one currently bottling up a ton of negative memories. It confused the raven haired girl a little. Taking a deep breath, Rin slowly rose her gaze to Ryuusei. "Thanks Ryuu-kun.. I'm here for you too, when you need me..." Rin could not press such an issue. Offering help with something Ryuusei wasn't prepared to deal with, could likely only cause more damage than good. Being able to open up, whether through music, words, gestures, actions... It required one to be ready. For Rin, she hadn't even been aware that she had become ready. Ready to sing about the things that had plagued her for so many years. Ready to put words to the loneliness, the fear of being inadequate, of feeling usless and unloved by those meant to care for her. It had expressed itself through the song. Here, in the aftermath, it felt like a weight had been lifted off of her chest. A weight Rin hadn't known could be lifted. "...I think I understand why you'd like this place. Thanks for inviting me here." Rin spoke in a soft tone, contemplating. There on the stage, the girl had felt incredibly exposted. Like all of her flaws, failures, yet also strengths and victories, laid open for all to view. Perhaps it was because she felt so exposed, that exposing her emotions had come so naturally.

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings He let out a slight smile as Rinkusu offered her own help back to him. It was the first time somebody said such thing to him. Help. Support. Those were such strange concepts to the brown haired sixteen year old. He would be the first to try and be there for those who he trusted - even if, before Yuuei, Rin and Yoru, there wasn't anybody like that. But nobody had ever got concerned about him. He was always there, but he was always invisible. And when he could be seen it was in order to be hurt.
"You should be the one in the hospital" "You did that to her" "Coward" "Weak" "Susanoo" "Die"
Ah yes. It had been a long time since he heard those words, but they still echoed inside his heart. How was Ryuu kidding? Those were the words that shape the person he was today. The worst thing was that, part of him, really believed all of that. Maybe I really should be the one in a coma. Maybe I really am a coward. Maybe I really should be... dead. Why was he pretending to be happy and outgoing when that wasn't the true him? In fact, who was the true Ryuu?
He was still in front of the girl when she expressed to understand why Ryuu liked the Q-Zone and gratitude for having been invited there.
You're welcome, he said.
After that, he turned back, to sit at the edge of the stage. His legs were dangling in the air as he looked up to the whole in the ceiling, the sun shining of his face and making his eyes seem like they were made of gold.
She asked me to call for help - he made a slight pause - She screamed for me to run and find someone while she was getting attacked and I didn't even move, I just stood there and watched her almost die... The day before we had come here to look at the night sky - he lifted his arm up in the direction of the hole in the ceiling, reaching at the sky, at the sun - I asked her if she thought I could ever reach the stars. You know what she said? "Of course you can, just make sure to grab one for me once you're up there"
He closed his hand slowly, as he if was trying to grab something that wasn't there. Then, at the same speed, he started to lower his arm once again. He was still looking up, his left hand grabbing something on his chest. It was usualy hidden to his clothes, but he always had that necklace on - a small and round silver pendant with a photo of both him and Yaso inside. A single tear began falling from one of his eyes as he kept talking.
I know it's much to ask even if you offered to do it, but if there's a 1% chance of her waking up then you're the only one I trust to do it.
The stars were nice, but at that point all that Ryuu wanted was being able to touch the sun one more time - and Rin was the only one he felt confortable enough to share that with.
Notes: Ryuu showing emotions, what kind of sorcery is this?! Words: 550.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin was quietly watching Ryuusei, as the boy seemed to fall quiet, leaving his chair behind at the piano. The sapphire blue eyes observed him. The girl could feel it within the boy. Doubt, pain, misery. It was the same exact things Rin had felt on so many occasions. A pressure in one's chest that could make it painful to breathe. Remaining there, on the middle of the stage, the girl watched as Ryuusei found a seating closer to Rin, down at the floor. Swinging his legs back and forth, Rin could not quite understand why he had chosen to leave the piano table to sit down there. Quietly, Rin followed. The girl's steps were light, delicate, as she sat down besides him, so close their shoulders almost touched. Just when Rin was about to break the silence, with some comment about how nicely he had managed to keep this place clean, Ryuusei spoke. It was like seeing the walls finally begin to crack. The tension within the youngest Igarashi finally being tackled. At least, to Ryuusei's current abilities. So Rin kept quiet, listened, offered her presence. The pain, insecurity, guilt. It was beginning to make sense. Perhaps Ryuusei was blaming himself for what had happened to his sister. For his weakness in those moments, leading up to Yaso being hospitalized, left in a coma ever since the tragedy. Leaning back onto the stage, Rin looked upwards, as if gazing for the stars. Still saying nothing, there wasn't anything the girl could say to his sorrowful words. Ryuusei was expressing his weaknesses. In these few moments, Rin admired him. It took a lot of strength to be able to look at one's own worst mistakes, one's own pathetic weakness, and admit it...
...but at the same time, he was blaming himself. When Ryuusei finished speaking, there was silence between the two of them. The raven haired girl was thinking, trying to find a way to make the words sound right. To finally reach through all of this pain, and offer Ryuusei the helping hand that his words so innerly begged for. Rin's lips slowly parted, offering him her viewpoint. Offered him the support he craved. "...The ability to act is one that must be learned, Ryuusei-kun. It's not something we're born with. It's a change we have to make happen ourselves." Rin spoke, in a simple, gentle tone. At first, it may have seemed like Rin was dismissing his feelings, dismissing his struggles. The next lines the girl spoke however, were filled with her emotions. There was an encompassing empathetic warmth, almost embracing Ryuusei despite Rin staying in place. "...and you have changed from that day, Ryuu-kun. You're no longer that scared little boy." Tilting her head to look at him, there was an unwavering smile on her face. This was the truth that she saw. The truth that she had witnessed. The truth that she wanted him to see. "Do you remember that night, in my home, with my father?... I know you were scared, just like you were back then, with Yaso." Rin's tone was a little disheartened, thinking back to those times. Those horrible, lonely times, locked in her room with noone to talk to. No stars in the sky.. "But this time, you acted. Ryuu-kun, you became the difference that freed me from that horrible place. All because you refused to make the same mistake again." Rin laid down on the stage, looking up at the ceiling. Soft, shimmering breaths leaving her. Completely calm, there was but one more thing to say to him. The girl's tone was optimistic, kind, heartwarming. "The current you would've saved your sister... The future you can save so many more from going through the pain you experienced." That, is what being a hero was. To understand the pain and suffering of others, and protecting them from it... "Yaso-chan, when she wakes up?" Rin gently nudged his shoulder, making sure that he was paying extra close attention. "Bring her those stars."

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings Theme: RyuuseiSilence. Only silence when he finished talking. It was... it was the first time that he let out those feelings. Regret, sorrow, pain, anger. A vortex of emotions that tangled Ryuusei's heart into one giant catastrophe - a catastrophe that he kept hidden only for him to see. Why would anyone care? he often thought. The boy had everything: money, a loving family, a nice home, food on the table everyday... a future. So why? Why did he feel so alone, so destroyed from the inside? Why was the future so hard to grasp? It was a good kind of silence. Only then did the young boy notice that Rinkusu had also sat down besides him. Then, after some seconds and after having listen to everything Ryuu had said, the black haired girl spoke to him. The more she spoke, the more Ryuu's mind resisted... but, at the same time, the walls that kept Ryuu's heart from being seen began crumbling. "...and you have changed from that day, Ryuu-kun. You're no longer that scared little boy." I didn't, I'm still the same..."But this time, you acted. Ryuu-kun, you became the difference that freed me from that horrible place. All because you refused to make the same mistake again." I-I... I didn't... That... That was all you, I-I did nothing..."The current you would've saved your sister... The future you can save so many more from going through the pain you experienced." The current me? The future me...? No, I wouldn't... Would I?"Bring her those stars." Ryuusei looked at Rinkusu. It was instantely, a quick motion of a somewhat disbelief... no - of a sudden realization. It was like had stopped at that exact moment when his eyes met hers. He could see everything more clearly now. His heartbeat His breathing. The sun shining onto his head. The cold air circulating the room. The birds singing outside. The rats running and hiding behind the stage. All the videogames he played. His father training. His mother cooking. The population of Tokyo walking around Shibuya. Him and Yoru cleaning the pool. Rinkusu bumping into him on the street. His young self running around and chasing Yaso. The mist surrounding the future that he wanted to grasp so hard began disappearing. Behind it, the stars shone brightly. Yes, bringing her the stars - bringing the stars to all of them. That was a good dream to have. On the outside what was once a single tear became waterfalls pouring down from both of Ryuu's eyes. Without thinking, he just hugged Rin and cried into her fragile shoulder. Sobbing, almost yelling, he was so... vulnerable. He didn't even knew why he was reacting like that, he just was. And, between all those tears, one could also hear something else if paying attention: the walls that protected Ryuu were falling and his heart was exposed. But so was his dream - his future. WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Before rows upon rows of empty seats, before only the raven haired maiden, Ryuusei had begun exposing himself. First, the tiny boy had begun speaking of the things that had been his baggage for, potentially, years. Things that had lodged themselves so deeply into his personality and thoughts, so painfully stuck, that they had become his reality. Rin could feel the screws holding the boy down, coming loose, little by little. Rin slowly tilted her head to the side, looking at him curiously. It was as if the raven haired girl could see it. With every word, there was a slight change within the boy. First, the gate in the walls he had erected around himself, began slowly opening for her words. With this change, a singular tear rolled from his right eye, down his cheek. Rin, seeing his state, wasn't reaching over to dry his tears. Instead, the girl simply gave him space. Space to find the path that he himself wanted to walk on. Then, the stone walls, emotionless and cold constructs, keeping Ryuusei locked within his own emotional bubble, began to crack before her very eyes. With the walls, came his mask. A melancholic sadness began painting itself across his features. Rin could see how deeply Ryuusei struggled with breaking out. Those emotional tears, now streaming down his face. The walls crumbled, he rose from the rubble. Looking at him with her sapphire blue eyes, Rin offered him the brightest, warmest smile, as if this had been the first time they had seen each other. Almost like a greeting, as the boy left his cocoon behind. Fluttering around in the proverbial sunshine.
As Ryuusei slowly shifted over, Rin wrapped a single arm around him in a hug, letting him cry into her shoulder. The cloth was quickly getting wet, but the girl didn't seem to mind. As far as Rin could tell, this was a positive change. A chance for Ryuusei to finally see the stars again. Quietly, Rin stroked her silken-soft fingers through the boy's hair, holding him close. Musing quietly, Rin was not addressing his emotional outburst with anything but empathy and encompassing kindness. The words spoken, were directed elsewhere entirely. "...do you think we can bring Yaso-chan a shooting star?.. I heard they can make wishes come true. It's an old legend." Rin pondered quietly, not applying any pressure to the boy crying on her shoulder. Just quietly, calmly, doing her own thing, while stroking his hair. Ryuusei was given all the time he needed. Seconds, minutes, hours. Rin wasn't doing anything special for the rest of the day, and Ryu-kun seemed like he had long needed someone to truly speak to.Even then, the circumstances were a little odd when looked at from the outside. The place where most eyes would normally be watching, where the spotlight was on and you had nowhere to hide. That is where Ryuusei had exposed himself. Breathing softly, Rin contemplated the irony. For a boy so sheltered, so closed off, the stage was probably the last place she had imagined him opening up. Calm, and quiet, once Ryuusei had gotten his nerves and emotions under control, the two of them would slowly move on. Not once however, had Rin even mentioned his tears or sadness. The emotions shared between the two, needed no words.[END]
