She cleaned the school when everyone slept, she cleaned the dorms when they were in class. Between those hours she worked her other jobs and rested. She only needed to clean the buildings once a day, and the various spot cleans when people made messes. She never missed lunch and always collected what she wanted before she left home. It was routine. If she was able to survive without sleep, then she could do even more. She had juggled the school job with her own duties being a maid for the Ketsujo Corporation as well as the other small businesses she still worked for. For now, it was downtime. It was late morning, before lunch. Kasey had found herself bored, wandering the fields of the school. She had maybe a few days left of her other jobs. After that was done, she would have a bunch of free time. Her phone was used only to find the inter nets, as well as call Mr. Sato, G, or whoever else found her number, plus the talkrooms she had gotten to join thanks to her employer. She had to find people that were useful, powerful. She thought about G, but even she knew that was a bad idea. She sat down, pausing to stare over the horizon of grass. At the school, they were allowed to use their quirks right? She rolled up her sleeves. . . her janitor's uniform still the same faded green-gray as it was before. Marker etched on the front until she got her real name tag. A cap sat on her head, hiding her horns, and instead of shoes was cloth and bandages wrapped around her feet. She reached to her right forearm with her right hand and begun to pinch herself. A single spike would begin to prod and poke out from her arm, eventually breaking her skin and growing. She would take it to about a foot long before she would break it off. With her right, she would swing her arm backwards before throwing it forwards. She saw a tree and aimed for it. It wasn't too far, but she really didn't know how far it was. The spike itself would end up at the roots of the tree, hitting the bottom of the trunk. Well, now she had something to do. ~ 388 ~

Late morning was exactly the time when Maxi would wander around school, doing not much of anything at all, simply enjoying his time. It was late morning where most people were busy doing other things, which meant Maxi couldn't perv and tease the girls or hang out with the select few friends he had. To say that it was the time where Maxi would be not doing much was misleading: he really didn't have a choice. Maybe he did have a choice, though he chose not to take them. Too much work, not enough motivation. Wandering was fine by him, to be quite honest.
That being said, something out of the usual happened right in front of his eyes. The place that'd be usually empty, this time, had quite the young hottie throwing what looked like spikes at the trees. A student he never saw? Curvy and mature looking for a high-schooler. Maybe an assistant teacher or someone on guard duty? He had to know by this point, his curiosity was just getting the better of him. Desire to know and heroism: the only two things that can really give motivation to his bored soul.
"Why this is unusual. Never seen ya' face around here. Who're you?" Maximillian asked just as he approached the woman, trying to be as friendly as possible, without getting him the chance to get automatically slapped in the face. He feared that, if he were to be slapped in the face by her, it might just come with too many needles for him to handle. He was not ready for a surprise session of acumpuncture. "Maximillian, by the way. Class 1-A, pleasure to meet ya." Under the education his parents gave him, it was incredibly rude to not introduce oneself before the other person does so. So far, he had found that it was actually a really wide-spread cultural thing. Maybe it was just human to introduce yourself first, to look and feel trustworthy.

People. She hated them, but she had to get used to them. People werethe reason she had a job. If there was no students, there was no mess. If there was no mess, there was no clean up to be done. No clean up, meant no trash. No trash, meant no snacks. For now, she had to deal with the students and hoped nothing crazy would happen. She hoped for her stomach sake. Just then a voice would approach her. She would slowly turn to face the sound, her left arm beginning to bleed from the exit wound. Perhaps with enough training, it would heal faster. Perhaps this would be better, than her nightly practices. She stared at him. Max-uh-mel-lion. That was easy to remember. But then he was a student? Perhaps he could answer some questions, only if, she had questions. "Kasey, Yuuei's newest janitor." she would tell him. She would extend her left hand to him, as it was easier to do so as he approached to her right. Her wound would flow slowly, as bone would quickly fill the hole, causing the blood to clot up, at least for now until she did so again. "I'm not in you way, am I?" she would ask him, "Haven't yet figured everyone's routine."After they shook hands, she would return to her activity, though now she would be standing. Again she would pull another spear made of her own bone and toss it at the tree, this time it would end up just a shade above the last, hitting it as it struct the trunk, but it would dig deeper into the wood. ~ 274 ~

Janitor. Her face definitely didn't fit that of a janitor, which lead him to consider that it might just be a part-time work. People of her age might need it. Though, if she was here working as a janitor, it meant she was over 18. Unless she had chose to go for this right away, she was here on part time. To be honest, he could rule out the "first choice" option. No young person would settle for something this menial right away. They always have ambitions, something they want to go for. Even if they stay in the same job, it's always just "temporary" until they "hit it big". Essentially, every young person that works at fast food restaurants.
With observations out of the way, Maximillian simply shook her hand with a friendly smile, having learned to own up to the fact that he felt as cold as a dead body, hell, maybe even colder. It helped quite a bit with social interactions, since facing everything with confidence tended to help. Either way, he waved his head left and right, a way to say "No". She really wasn't in his way, though he might need to specify that. "Nah, Nah. Just walking about. And you? Is our newest janitor interested in fighting villains too?"
Maximillian asked that in the context of several things. They were in a hero school, she was young, she seemed to have quite the interesting quirk and, to be quite honest, she didn't seem like a bad person. In fact, she seemed like more hero material than a lot of people he knew. Like Darren. Darren's a cool guy, but definitely not hero material. Maybe Anti-Hero, he'd do amazingly as an anti-hero.

Ice. He was not deceased, she knew the coldness of a dead body. He was frozen. That was his quirk. Perhaps it was an issue in his life, to be so cold to the touch. Kasey wonder if he could keep her food cold, or her beers. It seemed like a useful power, but she didn't want Setsuna to melt away. "No?" she would answer him, "I'm here to clean, I don't care about who is fighting who. I care about who keeps putting recycling in the trash bin all the goddamn time." She almost gritted her teeth. Again, she would reach over to her left hand and pull out another spear of her bone. Only this time to pause, not breaking it from herself. "You wouldn't happen to know who keeps doing that, would you?" she asked him, curiously. She wasn't sure who kept doing it, or how many people did it. Maybe everyone did it one time a day, or maybe it was one person who did it all the time. There was no way of knowing. But for now, she would have to find out at least a little bit of what goes on in their little minds. ~ 201 ~

Maximilian held himself with certain composure, one of someone confident, one of someone who wasn't reserved. He held himself up to high standarts, having been taught by strict, yet loving rich british parents. It was just in his blood to act as he did. Casual, unfearful. Respecting, but never lowering himself. This helped him see others as his equals, while maintaining a notion that, to be quite honest, he could be superior if he wished to be. He didn't. Too lazy for that.
Now, as he broke his mind out of his own sudden hubris, he looked directly at the girl that stood right before him. For some reason, she trained her quirk, without any supposed reason for it. May it be because the reason is illegal? May it be because she finds her dreams of justice a bit embarrasing? To him, she wasn't, at least so far, interesting enough for him to theorize or look too much into. Just a run-in without much meaning. "Nah, I recycle my stuffs. Might want to ask the more delinquent-looking people about that." A honest answer to her eery question. A tinge of hostility in it, as if recycling trash going into the wrong place was something that truly pissed her off. Knowing that she was, quite probably, the one that had to always separate trash as it should, he could not really blame her.
Now, he saw what she had thrown into the tree. A spike. Several inches long, maybe a foot. It had seemingly come out of her, seeing from the traces of blood it still had on it. Fresh, thanks to its coloration. Without moving as much as a muscle, the air around him began swirling slowly, the atmosphere losing all semblance of heat for brief seconds. Well below 0ºC, something that Kasey definitely felt. After a short while, two small, spherical-like rocks of ice gained form around him, remaining floating in the air by a simple exercise of his mind. The spike was just barely in range, which meant he didn't have to walk. With a simple glance, the rocks flew towards the spike, pressing themselves against the sides, while they expanded to properly envelop it. To be quite honest, he could have gotten it with his hands himself. Once again, too lazy and slightly showing off.
Soon enough, the spike was dropped right on his hands, sideways of course, to which he began inspecting. Definitely bone, sounds like bone, a strong one. Full, healthy. Looking up at her, Maximilian smiled. "This your quirk? You create bones and shoot them out?"

Frost. Something made her feel as if the chill he gave would bring joy to someone's life, but she couldn't remember who or what. Again, he seemed to want to use his skill, excessively, as he should have. He was a student, this was his school. Here, they were all permitted, even the staff. Kasey would take advantage of this. Sure, she was able to use her quirk at home, or her other jobs sometimes, but never like this. Here, she could sit down and really practice, and not just do the little things she's been making. She was silent for the most part, listening to him. For her, a student was just a person of information that would either make her job more interesting, or more of a hell. All of them would create trash and garbage, but it was a matter of what kind of garbage they were. "I create bones just as often as your body creates skin." she would answer him. It was a weird reply to the weird question. To her, it was always how she had lived, she assumed it was the same for any quirk. Does he create ice or does he create cold? Does he create or does he just shape them? To her, her powers were using the bones in her body. They did not come out of thin air. They were manipulated and formed. "They're always a part of me. They are made the same way trees are; they're grown." she would reach again to the spike from her forearm and disconnect it from herself. She would again move it to her right, preparing to throw it at the tree again. The distance seemed to be just over a half dozen meters. Perhaps nine, or ten, it didn't matter. Again she would throw it at the tree. This time it would end up higher, thrown more straight, allowing it to carry more speed this time. ~ 325 ~

A quirk that allowed her to grow bones out of her own bones. Bones that are part of her, technically. They function just like normal bones, though these are ones that she can pull out of her. That explained the blood, since she had to pull them out from inside her. Now the classification seemed to escape him. Her description seemed to classify it as a mutation, though the functionality seemed to be a complete emitter. Since classifications come from functionality alone, he would classify it as a mutation, at least for now.
Chuckling a bit at her description, now that he thought about it, he put down the bone after examining it, crossing his arms with a wide, casual smile. His eyes stared right into hers, his shoulders lowering a bit. "I mean, everyone's quirks always feels like a part of them. Mine's a mutation. I'm an endothermic being, so I absorb heat. Not only that, I can create ice from the area I absorb heat from and control it." As short an explanation he could give her right now, since he didn't want to just recite a thesis for her. His quirk was decently complicated, with various intricacies that shaped his everyday life. For now, explaining what she could see and feel was enough for him.
"Still, I must ask. To do what you're doing, which seems painful, you must have some reasoning behind it. If it ain't too personal, can I know?" He asked curiously, staring at the bone she just threw. Differently shaped than the one she had made previously, thinner it seemed. Not that different, though just enough for him to notice. Functionally equal. Visually, possibly equal. Maybe his eyes were just playing tricks on him, who knew. His question, in his opinion, had quite the foundation. No one would put themselves through such pain to train a quirk if they weren't planning on using it.

Ice. She almost didn't even hear the rest of his words. Could he make ice cream? Could he also make her food? Could his quirk feed hers? Could she eat his ice to power Setsuna? She didn't really care how his quirk worked. He made things cold and controlled coldness around him. It was simple enough. It was at the cost of his own body heat. If he used it too much, he could die. Or was it that if he absorbed too much heat he would burn up? It was confusing, but she didn't understand it enough to want to ask more about it. "Are you saying that you need a reason to want to be better than you are?" she asked him, wondering if it made sense to anyone else. Why did anyone need a reason to exercise or to live a healthier life? Other than for the reason that they would improve, did they need a reason? "It doesn't hurt that much." she would add on, "I've been through worse."Dismemberment. Death. Blood loss. In her mind she had already died several times. She didn't know if it was true or not, and nor did Setsuna. All she knew was pain, pain reminded her she was alive. She craved pain sometimes. Sometimes she caused it. Sometimes others did. But she could endure pain, not others. She did not want anyone else to hurt like she did. No one deserved to hurt like she did. ~ 247 ~

Actually, her question made sense. To a lazy, unmotivated person like him, he always needed some motivation, a drive to do what he did. His drive to become a hero was to be like the hero that saved him when he was just a little kid. He wanted to make people smile whenever they thought about him, he wanted to make people admire him through good deeds. For others, like her, the drive might just come out of nothing, just a will to become better for the sake of being better, nothing else.
Lowering his shoulders, he bit his underlip for a second, his eyes wandering about, as if trying to help him find a proper answer for her. Seconds later, he really had nothing to tell her. Really, he was saying that you needed a reason and that was completely wrong for most people. "Well, kinda. I understand you probably don't need a real reason for that. It's just that to make me do absolutely anything at all, I really need a good reason." He explained himself as best as he could, a nervous chuckle coming out of him as he essentially confessed to being a lazy bum who needed a drive and motivation to improve himself.
To her simply saying that it didn't hurt her, he pushed his underlip forward, his eyebrows raising as well. Nodding his head in clear surprise, he came to quietly admire her strength. To rip bones right out of her skin and say it didn't hurt that much was very, VERY much admirable. He didn't even pay the other line any attention, since he didn't feel like hearing some sap story. Yeah, they were tragic, though predictable. By saying "been through worse", it meant that she probably had been abused when a child. To be honest, he was just wandering, not doing much, which meant he absolutely did not want to think.
"Well, it was nice to meet you. There are still some places I'd like to go to before I go back to my dorm, so I'll take my leave." He said as nicely as he could, making sure he didn't sound like he was just leaving so he didn't have to think or listen to something sappy. He didn't even have ice cream to get him through it, so that meant that he had to go buy it anyway. With a little wave of his hand, the ice drones simply fell onto the ground, the tanned boy walking away quietly, right outside school, dissapearing into the streets. To buy ice cream, of course! Chocolate Chip Cookie dough ice cream, as always.
On a sidenote, the ice he created is completely edible.
