Different walks of life led to different sets of skills. Just the location of one's birth was enough to influence someone for the rest of their life even if they were given the same aids and crunches to lean on. Kasey was born to a lavish home, only to be cast out. She knew the politics of the posh and fancy, that was woven into her DNA. It was just how her life had been given to her. But she inherited nothing, there was no wealth or fortune to claim as her own. She had to work for it, to earn it. And in the end, she turned into a monster by another person's doing, and still, she got what she wanted. Was it the rich kid in her, or was it just destiny that she would eventually come into money? It likely didn't matter. She was someone different now. It didn't matter how she began, she was only interested in how it would end. "All the more reason it benefits you." she would say, "Spend the evening helping me out, and filling your pockets, and in the morning, report your findings to the police like a good hero should. Criminals in my way are removed long enough for me to replace them with my own people, you get your cut, and you get the fame. The world holds you a bit higher, and the world starts to focus on things that aren't me." It was her specialty; Diversion. She had existed in the shadows for so long. Maybe it was something she would have to play forever, or perhaps now was the name to remain a rumor. A name without a face. "It was a figure of speech, but I could probably arrange for one to be hand crafted from jade imported from Korea. I did meet a nice man over there not that long ago. I'm sure that would be up your alley." She tapped her chin with her finger, trying to remember his name. Kyoshi? Keynon? Keanu? Ryoshi? Didn't matter, she still had his number written somewhere. "That being said, it may prove beneficial to tie my name, not Kasey, of course, to some of these things. Give some people a bit of a chase when they see the common denominator."The thought of the half done disguises came to mind for a moment, only to give her a smile. "Nevermind, they're too stupid to put that shit together."~ Word Count: 413 ~ |

"Pretty damn good just getting all those fuckers off the street, not gonna lie~...", grinned the blonde, not overly concerned what this admission meant when uttered so openly to someone with whom she was about to strike a rather sizeable deal. But Kanna had never looked at Kasey that way, grinning as she added, "And having you help me out with all this only sweetens the pot... However you look at it, that's a pretty fuckin good deal for either of us."
The former janitor had always been a close friend, so much the blonde always kept her secret after all these years. She wasn't so innocent as to assume all criminals could be adequately removed within the boundaries of the law... Some were simply too powerful, and could easily subvert the very same law with an army of attorneys behind them. There were many criminals that thought themselves outside the law, and for many of those cases, they may as well be right. Many even passed themselves off as law abiding citizens, with varying degrees of success. As a hacktivist turned pro hero, Kanna had a more attentive eye towards them as most heroes did, those who simply focus on the random supervillain going around blowing up buildings and robbing banks. Of course, she still had a long way to go before she was ready to tackle them as a proper her... In the meantime, there was still something she could do. Though granted, she never imagined she'd be offering a priceless jade bong as a reward for her troubles: "I mean, I was just fucking with ya buuuut...", her blazed red eyes flared open as the girl actually suggested a bong probably worth over several million, "Shit, I don't even know what to say to that... If I was smoking off something that expensive, i'd get worried i might break it, yknow?" In the end, Kanna just snickered, all but grinning as she nudged her friend's arm, winking knowingly at her, turning her chair to her as she retorted: "Come on, who the hell do ya take me for~...?", she quipped with a cheeky, yet confident little snicker, waving her hand dismissively in front of her, "Don't worry about that. I ain't gonna wire all this cash to your company or anything like that. Just give me whatever account you want it wired to, and I can take care of the rest~"

Cleaning up Japan was far more complicated than it needed to be. Bodies filled roles, and roles would be taken by someone either more, or less qualified. To replace a petty criminal would either give rise to a two-bit thief, or a serial killer. It was all a gamble. To fill it with her own people, puppets she pulled the strings of, was a way to influence her own change. Crime would never stop, it was impossible. But she could direct where, and who the targets were. Everyone got their fill. To get a grip on all of the dark dealings was impossible, but if forces focused their powers on the entity that wasn't tied to Kasey, then all would benefit in the long run. Real crime, would be stopped, and all they had to pay, was to not turn a blind eye, but to fill their hands with something else. Would a cop prefer to arrest a criminal who kills randomly, or at least one that made their job easier? Why would they remove the help they got? Kasey had little to gain in any deal or arrangement. She had all she needed and more. To offer more hands to help, was only her way to extend her reach. While their pockets were filled with her spare change, it was a deal that really had no cost, but all of the benefits. Sometimes the law failed its people. Vigilante justice may not have been legal, but it was needed, and like crime, you could slow it down, but you could never stop it. Kasey was the vigilante in red. Her domain of death, picking selective people off one by one. "Besides, the holidays are coming up, and I never really get to get anyone a gift." She spoke with a smile. "If you broke it, well, then I guess it wasn't that durable. Better left broken then." She laughed a bit, getting right back to business. They would smoke out the house, but even so, their discussion was pretty much at an end. The rest of the day filled with food, petty arguments over video games and whatever else would be chosen to pass the time. "Well that's simple enough. For now, a few thugs getting funded through a non existent account. it's time to play a ghost. Let them know I'm still around, even if they can't tie to my face.
Army of Bones will rise again."~ Word Count: 409 ~ |
