It wasn't supposed to be this way. None of this was in her plans. But given with the state of things, it was a waste of effort to plan. Life was going to throw wrenches, and it was up to her to make the most of it. She wasn't a janitor anymore, but it didn't mean her job was over. The same shift knob lay in her hands, while the box of treats was neatly buckled into the passenger side of the car. She had a few left, and it would serve as a gentle reminder of the good that became of her downfall. Her hand glided over the knob. Right. Down. Pedal. Up. each gear running smooth as she could remember. The prized car in her collection, her only inheritance, and the closest thing she had to a living father. He could never replace that man, but he had practically given her the world. As she slowed down, the location burned into her mind. It was a day she would never forget. The day she paid for the sins of another, and with it, inherited his guilt. The unworthy, purged from the world, leaving only a shell of a woman, and a girl who was far too curious. She turned the key, the engine slowly coming to a halt. She reached over to the pink box to take a macaroon, and grabbed her backpack as she got out of the car. Her own attire perhaps too well dressed for the occasion. A black trench coat hiding the bright violet dress shirt under, and the silk slacks that was a few shades darker. The few bits of red that stained closer to her feet. Her shoes simple sneakers, something she would have to get used to. She slung the bag over her back as she made her way to the home. She was meeting with a friend, and one that knew perhaps just as much as the friend she made not that long ago. "I'm really thinking we should have bought more snacks."
"We'll order delivery. That's the benefits of having servants." The silent discussion that was not words, but thoughts that bounced in her mind. It was a matter to consider, but not something she was worried about. She could have paid for a premium service, but to use the people she already paid, was a pretty cost effective measure. For now, all she needed to do, was knock. And so she did, her knuckles hitting the wood. Tap. Tap. Tap.~ Word Count: 423 ~ |

What was Kanna up to in the privacy of her apartment, scarfing down fries and gulping down beer, slouched lazily on her big, comfy gamer's chair? Well, next to nothing really. She'd decided to take a break from killing off noobs, taking but a moment to check how her finances were doing. Even now her eyes yet widened as she looked at her bank balance, only for her lips to widen into a giddy grin: "Just like they say... It's easier to get richer than to just get rich~...", mumbled the blonde after a long, boisterous belch, visibly proud of herself for all the script and automated programs she'd designed specifically to make the most of her money, buying and selling crypto currencies as she mined them. Ever since she'd hijacked a villanous hacker's Cayman island accounts and made them her own, Kanna had been busy trying to launder all that money, in the only way she knew how: Investing. Instead of just crypto currencies, she'd now branched off into stockmarket endeavors. At this rate, she'd have a usable fortune, all of it perfectly legal and ready to be put to good use. But for now, she was far from reaching that point. So much that when she heard somebody ringing her doorbell, she gasped and jolted, locking her screen on reflex, "...Who the fuck...?!"
But once she finally stepped over to open the door, when she actually opened peered through the half open door, her eyes flared open as she came to face with an old friend she hadn't seen in far too long:
"Oh shit, Kasey?!", jolting in bewilderment, Kanna swung the door open, revealing her lazy, damn near slovenly figure, clad in a grease stained gray T-shart and skimpy red short, making a clear show of the shapeliness in her toned legs, courtesy of the extensive hero training she'd undergone in these past two years at UA, "Fuuuuck how've ya been...?! Feels like I haven't seen ya in ages." Clearly, if there was anybody who wouldn't care about her money laundering... It was the girl now standing before her~... In the end Kanna barely spared even a single thought at her utterly unpresentable look, her lips widening into an excited little grin at the sight of the long lost janitor. These days, Kanna might have actually made an effort to at least put on a fresh pair of clothes, at least, for a particular pro hero that flashed into mind... But no way she'd even give that notion the slightest little thought around this chick, who'd she'd already seen eating the wierdest kind of trash she could get her hands on. "Come on, make yourself at home... You know where everthing is... Assuming ya havent forgotten.", Kanna for one, all but seemed to forgot the half empty beer in her hand, taking but a few moments to look down and notice it, before raising her head again and raising an eyebrow at her, idly scratching her tum as she asked her, "Uuuh... Want a beer or something?"

Time was relative. But they say, with people who were close to you, it didn't matter if it was an hour, a year, or a decade. That relationship never decayed. Perhaps Kasey was blessed to have a friendship like that, or perhaps it was a twisted sense of the word with a student, and a former staff member. In any other sense, to remain friends with your school janitor was a strange one, but given the small gap between their age, she was none older than the upperclassmen. Why would her occupation be in the way of that? It wasn't like she was a teacher. A wave was all she offered with the shocked greeting from the young student. Kasey was only then processing the strange arrangement she had found herself in. Perhaps it was better to call ahead, or at least send a text. But given the power of certain quirks, she had strayed from that habit of society. "Well, that't not exactly a question I can answer truthfully in a hallway and not be arrested for." She would say with a smile. Perhaps humor was something she needed to brush up on. BUt, she did have flirting down, mostly? Probably. Kasey would remove the bag from her bag as she would enter. "oh, if only I had lost my memories." She would say with a hopeful sigh, only to unzip the bag. "Well, anyways. I brought peace offerings. Or presents. I don't know when your birthday is, and I probably missed Christophermas again." She would lightly hand over the bag to the girl, only to have it revealed with all of the various snacks, as well as herbal gifts, home grown in various locations. "Uhm, no booze. But if you have some fruit juice or something I'll take that." She would say with a smile, ". . . You might want your own glass, after some of the shit that's in that bag."Ah yes, Kasey's Infamous Top-Shelf ~ Word Count: 328 ~ |

Indeed, it should have seemed almost odd for two once close friends who have let themselves drift apart like this, but after Kasey got unceremoniously dismissed from school and Kanna all but took a year off in turn, really, they just hadn't had the chance yet to make up for long time. On the other hand, the blonde delinquent didn't seem overly concerned with the kind of gifts she carried along. As she opened it and took a peek into the bag her eyes flared open as she briskly brought it back inside:
"Ooooof~... Hot damn you really came bearing gifts huh?", spoke the blonde actually shocked as she opened the bag and caught that fresh fragrance of devil's lettuce, leaving her grinning ear to ear. In the end, she couldn't help but snort at her choice of words, snickering as she added, "You mean Xmas~...? Yeah, don't worry about it... Ain't like I celebrate it much or anything." In the end, she merely shrugged and waved her hand dismissively, really, the only time in the past ten or so years she actually had some semblance of Christmas celebrations were, well... Last year really, when Chloe dragged her along back to her home in England. Kanna sighed... Well, that hardly felt as grueling as she ever imagined it would, quite the opposite. That must be what it felt like to have a half decent family:
"Sure, I got that in the fridge. You can have that if ya like, I can't promise you it's not past expiration date or anything...", in the end, Kanna just scratched her cheek, glancing away almost apologetically as she glanced around at the ever messy surroundings she left her apartment in, littered in every possible way by empty bags of chips, junk food, empty bottles, cans, and the occasional. Regardless, Kanna would head over to her couch, slumping down lazily over it as she grabbed the big nearby bong, left conspicuously over the coffee table...

It's rather difficult to keep up with a dozen faces when you were a million miles away. On the other side of the planet, and in other counties, she was assisting in setting the brand name that Ketsujo was supposed to become. There was only so many places Sato could be at once, and there was only so many he trusted with his vision. All of it a bit of an act, to further process the changing of hands of the company. Sato in one place, Kasey and Hain in the other. With it, the collection of the finest goods the world had to offer. A few trinkets from their travels and other souvenirs. They were not just leaving their mark on Japan, but the entire world. "Such is tradition. Never arrive empty handed." She would take her seat into one of the first places she could find, save for the optimal positon before the computers. Surely with the lights it was in operation, and that alone would pique her curiosity. What new delinquency had the girl found herself in this time? And which parts of it was something she would actually be able to assist with? Though, with the change of the words, she offered a risen brow, but passed over the topic. It was always a strange one about holidays and such. The only days that mattered to her, were the ones that celebrated the dead. With her new seat, Kasey curiously would reach out to any open food container, be it a bag of chips or some other half discarded meal and begin to eat from it. "I'm a vampire, I hardly think the matter of if someone is fresh to drink is relevant to me." She had digested shoes and moldy food before. What was a cup of juice that was expired a few months passed? ~ Word Count: 310 ~ |

"Well, that's a tradition I can get behind, especially if it involves stuffed bags of weed~", snorted the blonde as watched the girl sitting down on the couch, only for her nose to twitch, a wince of visible disgust crossing her face as she watched Kasey pick up a mostly discarded bag of Nachitos she had forgotten at the foot of the couch, for god knows how many days.
Shit looked foul, and were it anybody else, she'd have probably said something about it. But she knew Kasey could eat all kinds of shit, so instead she just shook her head: "Ya know I got some fresh bags in the kitchen if you'd rather not eat off the floor.", she added, nodding towards the kitchen, more out of courtesy, for she knew her buddy would never get off her perky posterior for food when easier alternatives laid somewhere in arm's reach. In the end, Kanna just settled for picking a bunch of weed from the bag, that look of revulsion instantly fading into that giddy, satisfied grin as she got a good long whiff at that pungent aroma once more: "Gotta say, this smells pretty damn good~...", spoke the blonde, handing her the bong with the full, fresh and fragrant bowl of grass. She didn't bother changing the water, after all, she'd done so earlier the last time she went for a hit. In the end, she looked between the bong and her buddy, and rather than being a selfish stoner, she smiled at the girl and let her go first, "It's your weed so... You got first dibs there." In the end, she'd watch as Kasey took that first hit, giving her a single moment's pause to catch her breath before asking: "So... What the fuck have ya been up to? And why haven't I seen ya in so damn long?", mused the blonde, raising an eyebrow as she draped her arm along the back of the couch

Maybe it was the faith of good people, or just her own habits. It wasn't clear where she got the first idea from, but she had stuck to it for most of her life. Either she brought a gift, or knowledge. There was always something to share when she arrived unannounced, and even when she did notify ahead of time. If this was the preferred present, well, then it only made her job easier. With her own collection at home, as well as other various supplies she had access to, it was none different than a mechanic handing out extra bolts and screws, or a construction worker giving away nails and screws. "Well, in this way, its a win win, is it not?" She rose a brow, not yet keen on her disgusting choice, but had seen it as an aid. "Technically, I'm helping you clean." She would offer a hand at the point being made, only to smile to take up the snack in hand. She was more than a walking garbage disposal. She was more of a human trash service. She would remain as she was, watching Kanna take in her small newfound joy. It did please her to put a smile on someone's face, but in looking at the girl, all she could think back on was someone else... She lifted her hand, "I actually uh, meant to bring a few other bags." She would say, her eyes darting around the room for a distraction. ". . . that one is the lone survivor." A small bit of shame, as she took in the sights, only waiting for the crawling inevitability when it would finally hit her. But if the girl wouldn't budge on the idea, Kasey would be forced to accept the courtesy, taking the lighter to ignite the start of a long, and rather inhuman breath. After it had been done, she would hand it back, the smoke slowly seeping out of her nostrils like a dragon of sorts. "Traveling the world." she would answer, pointing at the piece of glasswork, "Picking up strains for my return. That and other business related things. Seeing the state of things in other countries, then re-branding." She would lift her hands, as if to showcase a display of lights, but no such thing came. "Can't have Army in your name, if you aren't bringing an army, that and henchmen are a pretty great thing to have. So been, well, expanding. Though, things have been rather interesting on that front as well."~ Word Count: 421 ~ |

If she were to ask Kanna, she'd have mentioned how knowledge too could be called a gift. Knowledge is power after all, and not something that ought be freely given away, not unlike materials. Between friends however, especially friends like these two, it wasn't as though either would particularly care much either way: "Eeeh, I mean, I guess that's true... Still, the offer's out there.", nodded the blonde, that look of revulsion fading away as she scratched her temple and instead pointed towards the kitchen. Yeah, Kasey will be Kasey in the end. Girl had her own way of doing things, and quite frankly, a body that allowed her to do them that way. While Kanna eventually gave in and let the girl peaceful scarf down whatever leftovers she had, she wouldn't yield on that particular courtesy, holding the bong and lighter until Kanna finally took it for a good, long drag, long enough to make the blonde stoner's grin widen visibly: "Hot dayum~... I see ya haven't lost those gorilla lungs of yours.", she chortled, taking the blonde right back, refilling the bowl, and finally holding it between her legs as she exhaled deeply, until finally... Click...! As she brought the lit lighter to the full bowl, Kanna blocked the lighter and inhaled deeply, pulling a colossal cloud of smoke into the glassy pipe, letting go of the air hole, and inhaling it fast enough to put a vaccum cleaner to shame. And It hit her like a crashing wave. Almost immediately, the blonde returned the bong to her companion, still holding the smoke in her puffed up chest, before ultimately collapsing down on the couch as she exhaled the thick cloud, coughing in the end: "Hooooly.... Now that is some good shit~", she praised with a raspy, breathless voice, grinning giddily as she felt her body growing heavier, locked to the couch as she took in what her buddy told her about her adventures, "Ooof, that sounds like a colossal pain in the ass huh...? Compared to me and my internship stuff, hell...", in the end, the merely scratched her temple, snickering, "...Sounds like you've had one rough fucking year huh?"

Everything, and anything can be used against you. More so when you took a position before society in a place of power. Hero or villain alike, the government would find details about you, along with the opposing side to get any sort of edge over you. Villains exploited your darkest desires, or held what you cherished. Heroes tried to locate your family to learn your powers, your limits, or tried to reason with what they knew about you. The less the enemy knew, the better you would succeed. But in a world where your battles are fought in public view, everyone would learn your pattern, your tactics. You needed to adapt. You needed to keep your greatest skills in secret. Villains had to retreat in darkness, and heroes needed to have the media look away. The sports festival may have been a great way for students to get their name out and to get aligned with greater powers around the world, with the aid of a spotlight. But with the world watching, so was everyone learning their limits, and their mindset. It was the reason Kasey detested the entire celebration, and another reason she refused to be a named party. With Sato around, it was hard to pig out and do whatever she could around him. His perpetual gaze that wordlessly judge her actions. All she could do was eat the finest things money could buy.Why would anyone choose the cheapest option other than for the choice of taste? And how could it be better when it wasn't made with the highest quality goods? Here, even if it was simply leftover trash that had been improperly discarded, it was Kasey's choice. She might have preferred the taste of fresh, but at this point, she was enjoying the little things. Her small moments of freedom. With her mouth full of the nearest snack, she would receive the glassware and follow suit and repeat as she had done. It wasn't often she had resorted to such things, and in her hands felt primitive. With all of the devices and contraptions at home, it was nice to simply just have a lighter over all of the other things. With a long inhale, she closed her eyes, and again would exhale through her nostrils, only at the end of her breath would she open her eyes, only to see the smoke she had begun to fill the room with. "Not as rough as the bodies I didn't bury." She would say, her eyes starting to grow glazed over as she looked around the room. "Though, interning is fun. I'd ask if you were doing it with my friend, but part of my little vacation was getting her to come back to Japan." She'd sigh, taking it all in, her eyes fixated on the screens at the other side of the room. "How is everything else on your front? I doubt you have to clean red stains off your hands as often as me, or well, do money laundry."Laundry? Launder? Whatever. ~ Word Count: 508 ~ |

Kanna all but snorted at her words, ordinarily, one might feel shocked, even shudder at such a bold confession concerning dead bodies in various states of burial and decay, but after everything she'd seen Kasey get up to, really, it wasn't anything Kanna didn't already know: "Oh, who's your friend...?", asked the blonde, raising a brow as she took the bong back into her hands. Really, every time Kasey took a hit the blonde found herself needing to refill the bowl, which felt almost second nature at this point. She'd look curiously, far more surprised at the thought of her being close to a pro hero than the idea of her going around burying bodies. Sitting on the couch in a lazy, slovenly manspread, Kanna held the piece of glassword between them and leaned over, brushing some loose, stray locks away from her eyes, bringing her mouth over the opening and letting it rip, "...Shit, now that's a surprise, never thought you'd go out of your way to bring a pro hero into your turf~"
After all, not ever hero was quite as understanding as herself or some others might be, many would reason Kasey's ends didn't quite justify the means, and treat her as any other villain. For Kanna though, the fact that they'd think to focus on her instead of the villains who actually went after innocent people, well... That was a preposterous idea in and of itself. But hey, she was also a pro hero student who seemed perfectly:
"Pretty much internship stuff really. Ultraviolet is... A pretty damn good fucking teacher~", she added, her lips actually curling into a grin as she returned the bong to her buddy, "Heh, I wouldn't be so sure about that~...", snickered the blonde, smirking knowingly at her less than law abiding ally. As a pro hero to be, Kanna no doubt had quite a lot more constraints than someone like Kasey who operated outside of the law, but in the end, she wasn't the kind of person who could blindly obey rules and regulations when she could see a better way of doing things, "...Sometimes you highjack a villain's offshore accounts, and then you need some way to launder all that money~... Sure as fuck ain't handing it over to the government, who knows what manner of useless shit they're throw it all into."
The fact that Maya was alright with Kanna's less than respectable endeavors only made her fonder of her teacher, and almost too comfortable with her preference for doing everything her way. Not that she'd have minded telling Kasey about it anyway:
"But in the end, you're left with a fat stack of cash and not much to do with it other than just investing it. At this point, throwing into Crypto can only getcha so far... It's one hell of a slow way to launder money but hey... Better than nothing~"

"Miss Manji? Er, Army of One. I wonder if she's still hiding her name. Maybe don't repeat that in front of her." She brushed over it. Both of them had been rather transparent with their identities and their goals. Most of it was smoke and mirrors. It was the reason why Caitlyn had avoided going after big names. That task was left to Kasey, and to avoid news and media interviews and a million sets of eyes was just a beneficial byproduct of their agreement. It wasn't one they were going to argue with. Their god had given them a mission, and neither would fail. If they didn't need to cross paths, they weren't going to. They were two sides of the same coin. One had the guise of pure evil, while the other remained in the light. "I didn't bring her into my domain, nor me into hers. We believe in the same protector, and it is their will that guides us." Perhaps it was the truth, and what she really believed in. Or, perhaps it was the early effects of it finally settling into her. Her left hand rested at her side, her nails growing, fusing, until they would eventually craft and weave into each other to create a larger bone spider of sorts. The chosen form for Setsuna, for now at least. "They share the same religion, Kanna." he would outright say. ". . . I feel like the main point is being lost in smoke." The creature would stand, about the size of a baseball with legs, only to rest on the lap of the woman. A string of sorts keeping him attached her her pinky while she moved around. ". . . You know I like, literally do that for a living right?" She would say, raising a brow, getting comfortable in her seat. Her body feeling everything, from each thread on her clothing, to the stitching on the couch. Yeah, it was totally crossbred with something strange. She giggled a bit to herself. "Ketsujo isn't just medical and food, it's also finances. Shit, we do that for Thundershock. Cleaning your money would be a weekend job."It might have been half of the truth. Kasey would simply drain her assets, and in return, drain her own. Kanna would get everything she needed in the end, with no loss to her funds, and Kasey would be left with a few accounts she would have to clean. It was simple enough. "That's like, shit we do nightly. Though that's more me making people clean up after my things. Kill someone, kill their friends, neighbors, family. Make them disappear. Absorb their accounts. . . " She trailed off in thought. "Excuse her, she's been..." He would turn back and forth, only to warp his body into a longer creature, snake like, but keeping his legs and conjuring more. Almost creating a giant centipede of sorts. "She's been terribly honest with everyone we've met this week, for gods knows what reason.
But it seems more than just us share our vision to cleanse this place."~ Word Count: 509 ~ |

"Hmmmm, now that's interesting...", spoke the blonde, raising an eyebrow at the sound of a name she hadn't heard in a while, or, well, a name she'd literally never heard spoken out loud, but spent enough time on the web to know it regardless. That said, the couch locked Kanna had already taken enough hits from the bong that everything Kasey said made perfect sense, until she could only nod, "That's... pretty fuckin deep man." If asked why that made sense, Kanna would be hard pressed to explain it. With eyes red as the devil's dick, anybody could undoubtedly understand why. But in the end, Setsuna stepped in and explained it, leaving the blonde leaning back visibly on the couch, eyes widening in utter bewilderment: "Shit, that's what it was...?! Fuck, Kas, thought ya just meant you left each other to your own shit, yknow?", in the end, Kanna brought her hand to her forehead, ruffling her shaggy blonde hair, chuckling awkwardly to herself, only for her brow to raise when the girl offered her aid with the time consuming money laundering operation Kanna had set up, "Heh, you branched out huh...?", she noted, leaning in ever so slightly, sliggishly, lazily, resting her elbow on the side of the couch. Though obviously interested in the idea, she had certain reservations about it, "I mean, don't feel right for ya to do all that for me without me even returning the favor. But I can't offer you jack shit except for money, and it seems to me like you already got all the money you could think of." That said, Kanna still had something she could, and would be willing to give her in return. Though the girl would be unlikely to ever ask for it, if the blonde knew she wanted it, she'd give it. Information. The kind of database only a hacker with photographic memory and a cybernetic quirk could boast abount. She wouldn't really give her full access, but most of that information was fair game: "I mean Setsu, I've seen her eat people and all soooo... If ya ask me this just sounds like business as usual don't it?", she snickered, smirking knowingly, waving her hand about in front of her, not nearly as perturbed by it as she probably should be. That said, Kanna was hardly the most empathetic of people, quite the opposite. A borderline sociopath despite her moral compass, she couldn't give two shits about what happened to most of the villains Kasey took down.

As warped and vague as Kasey's words often word, her cryptic statements were lost in translation. Really, she wasn't some poet who had carefully plucked words from the atmosphere around them to weave a grandeur statement. No, Kasey was pretty much always under the influence of some drug of some kind. With how quirks were so terribly unregulated, having a few chemicals floating around her system if something was to happen, would be rather difficult to blame her for. How would they know it wasn't something she naturally caused? It wasn't like any of her medical results were consistent. And it wasn't like she wasn't using herbal items that wouldn't show up on a test. That was the power of money. Why wouldn't she go the extra mile? Or at least, pay someone else to do it for her? "No. What? I don't touch anyone's shit. That's nasty." She blinked a few times as her pupils traced the corners of the wall. "That's gross. You shouldn't touch shit. Just flush it." her brows furrowed at the thought to reach out to fish the remains of a meal. What was she on about? "Actually, it's more actually using all of the tools we already owned. . . Though I suppose we've actually been doing it for some time now." He would take in a bit more of the energy stored within Kasey to take on an even larger shape, akin to a large plush toy, or a toddler. He would make his way separate from Kasey, with it, splitting a bit of what had caused her own mind to be drifting away. He would stumble for a bit before picking himself up, going to fetch a more fresh snack for the girl. He was well aware of the violent decent from the height Kasey's soul had been elevated. So to speak. She was just really really high, in a poor man's terms. "Consider it more of my investment." She would say, leaning her head back as her mind was cleared for a moment, before taking in a deep breath to ingest the lingering aroma around the room. Again, she would settle. "If you want to make a game out of it, you can hack other servers and the deceased I've left behind. I'll leave you with just their names if that pleases you. In return, all I need is a little bit of added security." She would scoff, her mind thinking of a single person. Attached, something that only made their blood relation more complicated. "If I'm going to make moves against Thundershock, I need to be sure Kyoko won't find out what I'm doing."It might have been just a few small mentions, but the hijack of a program that cultivated and procured various criminal individuals to a single chatroom to discuss and plan among themselves was concerning. Each of the Big Three had a hacker on their hands, except for Ketsujo. With one vanished off to who knows where, and the other dancing around her boss, Kasey was not going to risk it. Even with Amadeus gone, and Sonya in his place of sorts, she was going going to leave anything to chance. "Yeah, that's fair." he would say before walking out of the room to fetch his desired items. "Chips? Cereal?" he would call out, curious to where the items would be. He was sure they were where he thought, but in case she had done last minute decorating, in the last year or so. But given the state, he assumed not. ". . . So, you still alone along all of this?" she'd ask. A strange way to put her words together. ". . . like your got a partner? Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Maybe a new pet?"~ Word Count: 621 ~ |

"Finally hitting the big leagues huh~...?", quipped the blonde, grinning as she thought back to the girl she once knew who'd have been utterly proccupied with the common crook and gangster here and there, when she actually still had company problems to deal with. Now, she was the company, and Kanna, the furthest from the most corporate friendly person yet, still had to admit.
...Felt pretty badass to watch how far she'd come, empowering even, but in the end, nothing amused her quite as much as just how liberal the girl was with her spending. Sure, the two of them were good friends, but even before that Kasey had always been rather giving, happy to let a blonde she barely knew go off with a Lamborghini: "Well, there you go makin me an offer I can't refuse~", snickered the blonde, her lips widening into a grin of utter delight, like a kid who was just about to dip her hand in the cookie jar. Taking out that hacker had proved an irresistible treasure trove of information. Who knows what she could do with dozens more where they came from? All the discarded shells of internet life that Kasey was arguably less equipped to take than Kanna was. And what she wanted in return felt almost like a given considering their relationship, all the more so when she considered the big fish she was after, scratching her cheek as she added, "Hmmm, honestly with the kinda money you have, you'd be better off just making a move into the tech market. If I can control the ISP's and at least some of the Cloud Services everyone uses, I can make anybody my bitch. Don't matter how many proxies or VPN's they hide behind." K-Corp dealt with most everyday commodities people took for granted. But their presence in the technological market was sorely lacking. Hell, none of the massive conglomerates had any significant showing in that field, so much that Kanna had already considering investing some of her newfound funds there in turn. At the very least, she could hire some bigass servers in some shady country and use them as a botnet to power her hacking exploits... "Hell, If ya do that, I might even just invest all the dosh I find into your company.", Kanna added in turn, as she looked between Kasey and her computer, her interest piqued by how this offer for aid was steadily sounding more like a proper partnership. Tit for tat and all that jazz. The fact that Kanna now found herself talking to someone who actually had the power to make that happen made that giddy little grin widen even further. "Check the two doors by the fridge Setsu!", she called our from the living room, her attention finally peeled away as she lead him towards a fresh stash of food. Surely, even Kasey would prefer to eat from a fresh bag, after all. But in the end, she showed a kind of interest that the made the hacker's eyes widen slightly: "Heh, I don't really do girlfriends or anything of the sort...", snorted the blonde, once more rubbing awkwardly behind her neck even if the hint of red on her cheeks made it quite clear she certainly thought of someone at least. In the end though, she nodded towards the cat sleeping in his regal bed with an endearing smirk on her face, "...This little fucker's a big enough handful as is~", in the end though, she looked at those jade green eyes with her own once more, raising an eyebrow as she took the bong in hand and returned the question, "How about you... Found anybody to settle down with or summin~?"

Kasey tasked herself with underlings and fodder. Sure, she had concerned herself with small crimes and rather unimportant individuals. All of them were carefully hand picked by Sato beforehand, and even without his list, she knew how to find them. Their accounts weren't just drained to pay all of the people aligned to them, they were also used to by rather questionable goods. In the end, it was a pure gain for her. It wasn't just taking a quarter on the street, it wasn't just wallets. She took entire purses and homes of information and control. Guns purchased with their accounts to make tracing harder. Their funds left low, low enough for the bank to start charging overdraft fees to seize the change. Accounts forcefully closed with prolonged payments. It almost did all the work for her. But of course, she had been the one to get the ball rolling each time. Just a light push of a domino, and it would continue for miles. "Perhaps that's a bit of the mafia that's rubbed off on me." she said it with a nervous smile. It was less her interactions with them, more so movies she had buried herself with. In her mind, she understood what it was to have a familia of sorts. The Yakuza had grown soft in her eyes. Most of them blinded by their own blood relation, less more on the thought they shared. Ketsujo wasn't like that. Those that understood the will of Army of Bones were greatly cared for. An those she cared for, well, they were even more taken care of. "Done." she would say. "I've been using a lot of old tech from Amadeus, before he passed. Thankfully most of it had been rerouting, but I hadn't had the interest to refine it or update it in the last few years." She shrugged. "So, there can be the first exchange. You fix my cyber security, and I'll let you see some of the fun inner workings of a Super VIllain. You have to wear one of my suits though, else they'll know." She narrowed her eyes, seeing a face in the smoke. ". . . Actually I take that back. They were perfectly fine with Darkshine. Maybe you won't need to..." She pondered the thought, only to reach out to get a handful of the plants she brought, before lifting it to her lips. A bite was taken before she caught herself and packed it into the glassware. With a shake to try and gather her mind, she took the lighter, and then took a large inhale. A slow exhale, and a second hit. "We have like, people who are working on new technology. We can build most of it, operating it is a different story." The few techs she had on hand were quite exceptional. But on the level of security, they were no where near other companies. Why would they be? All they protected was bank details and patient records. They had a high enough system to keep the buggers out. Right? Well, at least now Kasey would know for sure. "Awesome." he'd call out, answering with his own pleasure. Rather than reaching to fetch what he had planned for, he simply stared into the open door, his mind drifting as all of the colors and feelings rushed passed him. ". . . What if Xun has only been a priss because he hasn't gotten laid." The thought came into her mind, as just as quickly, exited through her mouth. "I think i have a girlfriend now. But, I've really only met her once, and it's not like I know everything about her." She waved away at the smoke her mind clouded as the room as she packed the bowl before passing it to Kanna. "I dunno. I like her though. Still weird."~ Word Count: 637 ~ |
