"Ooof, who'd have thought somebody would finally be able to put me in a suit, huh... Ya trying to make a corporate woman outta me yet~?", snickered the blonde, hanging off a couple words in particular, actually all but letting out a sigh of utter relief when Kasey finally dismissed the notion altogether. Darkshine...? That weird hero from two years back? What the fuck happened to her? The blonde's brow rose, "Still, gotta say... I can't imagine what kinda super villain shit ya been getting up to." Was it weird for a hero in training to be smoking pot with a self professed villain? If it was, Kanna clearly hadn't gotten the memo. Kasey had always been neck deep in some dubious stuff but then again, so had the hacker. Granted, hers wasn't nowhere near as gruesome, but just like Kasey, she too tended to target the unpleasant fucks who hid their secrets between seemingly reassuring firewalls. "Yeah, that just means you need to hire new people to do that bit too, I guess... But I can understand why you didn't, can be hard to pick out the right resume when ya don't really know whatcha lookin for in the first place.", Kanna added, scratching her temple. She herself might struggle picking the right people, but she figured she could at least give them a couple tips, while also taking a huge chunk of that work out of their hands and into her own, "...In any case, i've been looking for a way to do that. There's only so much I can do with just my computer, but if I had my own network, oh boy~..." Little by little, ideas slowly formed in the blonde's drug addled brain as she all too easily realized just where exactly was her money supposed to go. If could choose, she'd have done her damndest to set up her own tech company for the aforementioned reasons. But pulling that off was a tall order, even for her... But if she had an existing company to work off of, well... Now that wild idea suddenly became a possibility... Despite the hopeful glimmer in her eyes, Kanna had her reasonable doubts as to how feasible those dreams might prove, at least in the near future. But the fact that she had Kasey willing to help her while she herself helped her along, that alone was a massive step forward. Actually sealing a deal over bong hits was just an added bonus. Serious business aside, in the end Kanna could only snicker as Kasey kept thinking about her pussy: "Yeah i should probably get him one before he starts throwing money at all the pussy in the neighborhood...", she nodded, ruffling her hair, shooting a curious glance at the sleepy cat, raising an eyebrow as she wondered whether or not that would make him a little less prissy. She'd have to decide whether it was worth risking a house full of kittens before she took that plunge. In the end, nothing quite made her brow raise like Kasey's confession, "Oh wow, never thought I'd see you settling down anytime soon... Must be quite the woman if you'd make her your girlfriend right after meeting her." Now Kanna really wasn't the type to gossip... But as she picked up the bong and took a good, long hit, she couldn't help but keep her eyes on Kasey the whole way, brow raised, visibly curious about the girl's newfound partner. She wouldn't prod her much more about it though, respecting her privacy in much of the same way she expected it done to her...

Suit? Perhaps it would have been fitting to force her into the nicer forms of attire. She didn't seem to be one who would take to dresses, or even a skirt. Was she talking of business, or a jest in reference to mafia work? Was there rules for ages in a gang? Surely not, right? There was no age to be in a group, only one's code of ethics. What did The Maker consider then? Would Kanna be permitted? Or was it wrong simply given by her association to heroes. was that the risk of tainting, or was it Kasey who was the one who wasn't really evil that could allow it? The questions filled her mind, all after her words. She would snap back after a moment, only catching that word Super Villain. was there anything to be said to that? "Then I see this as an absolute win." she drifted off in thought, finally being grounded again. "You get to do whatever the hell you do, and I get work done with someone I don't have to plan how to erase from society if they screw me over." She smiled, laughed. Was it a joke? Was she being serious? She couldn't possibly consider that idea of killing her friend, right? It's a joke right? Of course! . . . unless... ". . . or maybe he's just gay." She tilted her head in thought as her eyes too, observed the small feline. It would have made a lot of sense. Perhaps it was all rage against himself, a nature to believe he was better than to father a nest of kittens. Nest? Were that what a collection of newly born cats were? A clutch? Fuck. What the hell was it? Didn't matter. "Well I mean, if you put it all out on the table day one, and they still stick around after knowing you're practically a serial killer, then they must be the one, right?" She looked at the cat, her hands fidgeting over themselves. Setsuna would slowly wander back into the room, with the bag in his mouth, and his own gaze empty and lifeless as he mindlessly made his way back to Kasey like a trained dog. "Or maybe she's a psychopath? But I don't think Yuuei would hire someone without doing a psych exam, at least after I left. Maybe a background check.
Though I guess all Heroes technically do that. God, things are confusing." she would hang her head as she opened the bag below her knees as she sat beside the hostess. "it's different, ykno?" She would narrow her eyes at her snack, taking one and plopping it into her mouth. The crunch snapping Setsuna out of his daze. The sound of it sending him to grab her hand, and in an instant, retreat back into her, so he too could enjoy the treat. As both parts came together, the rush of the smoke overcame her. A moment of silence before she continued. "I always had a reason, a cause to die for. Now it's like I have a reason to live, ykno?"No, yeah, she was totally stoned out of her mind. ~ Word Count: 524 ~ |

"Well that's reassuring~", snickered the blonde, not really doubting the girl had it in her to kill her friends, but at the same time, trusting she wasn't the kind of person to do that for no real reason whatsoever, "Still, that sounds like a pretty damn good deal to me, so... Guess we're in business~" But in the end, nothing quite sunk in as easily as her fellow stoner's following words on her pet's sexual orientation, her blazed eyes shooting wide as she gawked at the cute cat sleeping in his corner, hand raising up to her head: "That... Actually makes perfect sense. Shit how could I have never thought of that...? No wonder he's such a prissy little princess.", mumbled the blonde, she too stoned out of her mind by the looks of it. In the end thought, nothing quite grabbed her attention as the way she talked about her new girlfriend. Hell, she couldn't imagine the kind of person who not only accepted everything Kasey did the but still stuck around. Well, Kanna did but... They were friends, not intimately connected that way. And to think that person was not only a pro hero but an employee at her very school: "Oooof, you're hooking up with somebody on faculty? Shit, do I know who? Do I wanna know?", for once, even Kanna showed a smidge of hesitation. What if it was one of her teachers? Would it make it weird to look at her at school knowing she'd been out getting stoned with her girlfriend? Far be it from normal Kanna to even spare a hint of second to think about such conundrums, but then again, she was also very stoned, "I mean when you put it like that... I kinda hope she's one of my teachers... If she's okay with all the shit you do, she probably won't care too much about a couple bad kids~"
She actually felt curious now... Really, who could it be? She could think of a couple teachers who might be okay with that, but odds were, she'd probably never guess who the person in question really was. Whoever it was, this level of acceptance must be something they kept under a tight lid:
"Yeah, i feel ya...", she nodded, looking into the girl's eyes, every last one of her words making perfect sense, and for once, she didn't even need to be high for that, "It's like... You got somebody waiting for ya back home? Ain't nothing like it really..." Kanna sighed... Though she normally shunned any and all long term options for romance, as she leaned back lazily into the couch, sinking her weight on it, heavy and sluggish as she took the bond back into her hands, she knew this was perhaps the one regret she had in her arromantic lifestyle: "Who knows... Maybe that's exactly whatcha needed yknow~?"

Nothing was ever free. Even extending a hand was a payment in a favor. That was often how the underground worked, and seemed to be ingrained in Kasey. Often however, she made a deal that paid back in itself. No one owed anyone anything. There was no trust in having others keep their word. It was best to get what they owed her right away. An exchange. Her friends were no different. A deal was made, though, she offered much more than the girl could. That was simply the friends and family discount. Thinking about the felines interests was a passing conversation only to lead into the young girls true interest; Kasey's love life. Or perhaps, it was less about Kasey, and more who shared her ideals. It was getting to know the members of a secret organization. Everyone dealt with Kasey, but not every knew everyone she worked with. "Yeah yeah she's-" at the draw of the name her mind went completely blank. No. She could remember the shape her tongue made at the sound of her name. She could remember her face. Her name. Why did it escape her? "Orisa? Melissa... Vanessa?" she stumbled over her options, trying to remember it by speaking aloud. A voice within her would answer for her. "Alisa. Vollan." he would answer for her. "Yes. That was her name. Sorry. Brain not work." Not working. Not work ing. How high was she? But the thought of her alone would cause her cheeks to turn red, even at the failure to remember her name, which filled her face with the color of embarrassment. She felt ashamed, but in the end, there wasn't anything to feel bad about. She was kinda absent minded. Forgetting a name was likely, but she could never forget what she felt... "Maybe. Maybe it's just like, my fantasy to have everyone live so close to me. So I don't have to go anywhere but outside of my house to see my friends. But to have them all move in at the estate means everyone needs to know what I do, and I don't know if like, the world is ready for that? That would be a scandal waiting to be uncovered. All of the students, professional heroes all living right on top of a secret underground lair. Or, would it all just be justified and the world see me as a double agent. A villain who plays both sides, or a hero who just fell into the dark." She paused for a moment, gasping her words, staring at the cat. ". . . I wonder if he's tasted other cats." she would say. ~ Word Count: 440 ~ |

Kasey's struggle with remembering the name kept the blonde from actually taking it in. The name in question, and the tall teacher whom it belonged to. Instead, she merely laughted, slapping her hand down atop her knee catching her breath, then coughing before finally being able to speak once more: "Hahaha... Holy shit Kas... She's the one and you can't even remember her name~?", teased the blonde, raising an eyebrow, shooting her that shit eating grin, not missing the rare chance to mess with her before well and truly imagining the statuesque stunner the girl had fallen for. And, well, she couldn't really feel surprised at Kasey for having it that bad, "Still though... Ooof... Not gonna lie, she's pretty hot huh?" Who would have thought huh? That the cool beauty who taught linguistics, one of the newer teachers in UA, would have it in her to stick around someone with a lifestyle as wild as the girl sitting next to her, taking hits from the bong. Really she didn't know her teacher had it in her to begin with. She'd have thought about how she probably didn't want the teacher hearing about what the two were doing now, but considering all Kasey must have told her, Alisa Vollan would probably not care about Kasey smoking pot with her students: "Holy shit can you imagine that...? Your secret being out while pretty much everybody in UA has been hanging out at your place? Hot damn that would be a PR disaster for the school... And they thought Semper fi was bad~", Kanna all but snickered, scoffed even, understandably holding no pleasant memories for that particular military event that had her trapped inside a steel coffin as it sunk down towards the bottom of the ocean. Even thinking back on it now was enough for her to feel that anger growing between her teeth, or, it would had she not been stoned out of her fucking mind, "If ya ask me, you don't really need literally all your friends for that. Only a handful or so, really. Shit can you imagine how crowded your house would get with everybody in it?" Hell, even Kanna couldn't help but groan as she pictured the scene before her, clearly not something she was wholly comfortable with, and understandably so. A bit of a shut in for the most part, she avoided leaving the house unless absolutely necessary, and just as well, didn't like having more people than strictly necessary either: "I mean, who knows... I got no clue what the fuck he gets up to while I'm gone, but I can tell ya he ain't keen on leaving the house~", shrugged the blonde, looking towards her cat, and despite her dismissive words she couldn't help but stare harder, brow furrowing as she leaned in, her elbows coming to rest on her knees, "...But since we established he's probably gay, I wouldn't be surprised if he did... Maybe he still in the closet?"

For a moment, her mind drifted to work. She thought about all of the new faces, cases, clients and patients. It seemed that a lot more students were showing up at her clinics, and how all of their information was on hand. She had been meaning to ask the school about it, but maybe she was right. They came to her because they trusted her. But most of them she had never met before. Was it because they trusted the Ketsujo name, or that they were distrustful of the school? "I'll be honest, I haven't been this stoned in a while." She would say with a smile, her eyes starting to glaze over and turn red. "It's like, not just about how she looks. It's like, the person that's there. Like her bones and stuff. Everything on top of it just happens to look good too. She's my favorite..." she struggled over her words. her hands reaching out to the smoke to pull them from the air. "Meat... suit... person. Whatever."She dropped her smile at the mention of the name. It haunted her. It was something that could have ruined it all for everyone. But instead, corruption had saved her, and her only loss was her job. No one pursued her identity as the Crimson Skull. A name she had completely retired for Lady Macabre. She couldn't. Not when she was going to outlandishly murder people. Kasey had her one mask, but it was Rena who was them all. "You forget the disaster I made Semper Fi. The things I did didn't even make it in the paper. And if it did, well, then perhaps we'd be talking under different circumstances."". . . You know it's a mansion right? And there's like a dozen other small houses on the property. It's like we all live on the same block. And private property, so we can kinda do whatever we want." her smile returned, thinking about all of the people she would invite, and who would live there. It was a nice dream to have. But now many would turn a blind eye to what Kasey was becoming? "The day Japan finds out what I am, is going to be a problem." she would begin again, "Now I'm deathly close to Thundershock and Ishtar. The question is, when the world finds out, will they still be around, or will I go straight to the top?"~ Word Count: 404 ~ |

"Yeeeeeah I feel ya there... This is some pretty good fuckin weed ya got there...", added the blonde, for once taking a moment to assess her own condition and how impossibly hard it felt to will even the a single muscle into motion. In the end though, the girl's choice of words brought a smile even to the aloof blonde's face. She hated chick flicks and rom com's but... She'd couldn't lie that the sight of a friend of hers in love still warmed her heart, handing the girl the bong back as she spoke, "Not gonna like Kas... That's the most romantic shit I heard all year~... Sounds like you're head over heels in love there~" Yup, nothing quite drove that point home as seeing Kasey smile at the sound of her name alone, enough that even Kanna couldn't help but snicker at the sight. She couldn't imagine what on earth was Ms Vollan thinking, after all, she was still a Pro Hero and Kasey was balls deep in villanous endeavours, even if she herself was a far more agreeable person than her self professed villainy might suggest. Maybe her teacher saw her in much of the same way as Kanna herself did, enough to comfortably look past it? "I mean honestly? Semper Fi was a disaster to begin with...", sighed the hacker, rubbing her hand behind her neck as she all but groaned at the thought. She hated people trying to flex on her, and the fact that she had the entirety of the armed forces trying to do so only infuriated further, "I mean, sure, of course I known that but god damnit how many friends do you even have? I'd imagine you'd have a load of them really..." After all, if Kasey had managed to befriend someone like Kanna at that time, back when she tried keeping just about everyobody at arms length... Then surely she'd have had an easier time with everybody else? She all but rose an eyebrow at the thought, ultimately nodding: "Yeeeeah, eating people usually tends to do that. People get kinda uppity about that sorta shit for some reason~", she quipped, winking at the girl with a hint of sarcasm, only to shrug as she added, "But hey, might as well off as many of those fucktards as you can until that happens. But don't worry... I'll keep ya safe as long as I can~... Do you, uuuh... Wanna have a look at my setup...?" Since the two would be working together, Kanna didn't really mind giving her a little peek at what she did behind close doors, nodding to the glowing red tower of her computer before pointing her thumb there.

She was perhaps too eager to be the first to test things herself. Without much risk of permanent damage, there was no real reason to be cautious. Anything destroyed would be replaced, and the rest of her body would return it back to normal as it was meant to be. Hotboxing in your car on the way to your friend's house? Well, what was the harm in that? "If she was a villain, I wouldn't kill her." she would say, "I feel like that is a much less creepy way than... well whatever." her late correction missed and passed over. But the mention of Kasey's words being the sweetest thing she had heard all year did catch her attention. She was at a school full of people full of hormones. It was also towards the end of the year. Was that really true? Maybe she should call Alisa her little Meat-Suit. Or would that be too morbid? Kasey's own allowed existence was carried on the backs of people who had gray area moral values. People who could excuse degrees of crime, as they aided their own goals and duties. They would have to excuse parts of what existed, or at least tell themselves they would deal with Kasey at a later date. Even heroes who believed in black and white good and evil, would be caught in Kasey's web of words. She was an ally, even if just temporary. She was worth more as a villain, than a hero. To wipe out evil was impossible. At least this way, they could control it. The waves would always crash against the shore, but you could prevent damages, and perhaps learn to divert what is weathered by the storms. "You forget I murdered people on camera, had an interview, and pinned it all on a villain." she would say, "Of course, some of the footage went missing, but not by my doing. Any my name was scrubbed from any further mention of it. Perhaps that was something to gain the interest of that woman, or perhaps it was all chance." She shrugged at the thought. Either she was just lucky, or people really were looking out for her. At the mention of the computer, she nodded, only to think about her words to reflect on it all. "The longer society hides my existence. The greater my debut will become. It does help that Army of One has either been playing along, or fell for our trick. So she knows we exist, yet no media or investigation has started." She would reach down under her, only for her nails to grow to form a stool of sorts, allowing her to rest where she wanted, and in a way she desired. "Apparently, even eating the dead, either before or after their demise is even feared upon villains. So, I must be doing something right if everyone wants to keep my existence a secret." She couldn't help but smile. The mercenary that ran an entire company. "Besides, if you wanted to linger around the estate and see how villains truly operate, let me know. It could be interesting."~ Word Count: 524 ~ |

"Yeah, I getcha~...", Kanna could tease her all she wanted, but honestly, if the roles were reversed she herself probably wouldn't fare much better, "After everything ya told her, I'm sure she gets it too~" Still, Kanna could hardly imagine just what manner of pro would be so accepting of everything Kasey had done. Sure, she would... She'd believe that pros had bigger fish to fry than somebody who only seemed to focus on killing other villains. To prioritize her over the many villains she killed seemed like an exercise of idiocy the likes of which a pragmatist like herself could scarcely comprehend. Who knows, maybe there were actually some honest to god pros who did? "Sure, but if you hadn't kept those kids alive, shit woulda been way worse if you ask me. Perhaps you might not have gotten so royally screwed but.", Kanna shrugged, ruffling her hair, all but groaning at the thought, "I'm sure a lot of shit would have been way worse now for everybody involved." When Kasey nodded, the blonde stood up, walking over to her big comfy chair and pulling up to her computer. She rarely showed anybody but now just happened to be one of those times as she unlocked her screen, finally letting Kasey have a look at what had been running in the background as they got blazed out of their minds. Much of it boiled down to lines of code and terminal outputs unintelligible to all but the savviest of techies, but at least one of the screens shows a clean, user friendly interface: "Well damn... One way or another seems like you already got a bunch of pro's on your corner, whether they know it or not. If you go down, a lot of people will go down with ya.", something reassuring no doubt, and it helped that her motivations seemed a lot more benign than most heroes, meaning many of those who support her would continue doing so and keep her covered, "Yeeeeah... Most people ain't too keen on eating people yknow? Folks generally shy away from eating shit and apparently villains ain't no exception to that." In the end though, she finally pulled up the myriad windows that actually showed what she wanted Kasey to see: The face of the hacker she and Maya had taken down, a summary of his Cayman island accounts, and last but not least, the slow and steady progress with which Kanna had been laundering it all. Courtesy of her many investments in both crypto currencies and stock market in turn, she could easily report earnings over the course of a hundreds, if not thousands of transactions: "This is the fucker. He's in jail now, probably a vegetable considering how it went down. His digital presence is still very much alive though, at least, until I finish draining his funds.", explained the blonde, knowing that even if her means were quite slow, her money laundering operation was effectively iron clad, especially with all the protection she had. In the end though, she couldn't help but shoot her a knowing little grin, "...How well does it measure up to your villain operation~...? Not gonna lie, wouldn't mind seeing it with my own eyes."

It was all a conflict of interest. Though, Kasey didn't really know that she wasn't fully licensed. Not like it mattered. She still had a duty to uphold. Even if the time before the bureaucracy had put her in a similar situation, Kasey was the darkest shade a vigilante could get. She played and danced in the dark, she bathed in blood. She took extreme measures, to convince extreme people. In a world where it was only black and white, where shades of gray didn't exist, in the eyes of both sides, she wasn't just a shade of black, she was vanta. The void of darkness where light could not touch, and even darkness was swallowed. She had begun to turn into what the boogy man feared. A rumor, a joke passed around a secret chatroom. A name all saw but did not understand. A person who never left witnesses, and remained a ghost after years and years of dedication. "Perhaps." she would say, "Though, to me, a life is a life. If a child is going to grow up into a problem, I see nothing wrong with cutting a flower before it blooms." her vision changed. The room darkened. All her her emotions flooded outward. There was no feeling. It was eternal numbness. "Some lives are worth more than others. Without value, you're best taken care of early." She stared at the wall, only to snap back into it to catch the lights from the computers. "If I go down, it's not that a lot comes with me. Everyone comes with me." she would say, her speech the same monotonous tone. "I fund the school. I fund the police. Everyone lives off Ketsujo money. I have their medical records, everything." She stared over all of the bits of code. She didn't understand it, but she had gotten used to seeing it. Seeing one thing she could understand what it may have been, even if she didn't know how to read it. it was just another langauge. You might not have known Korean, but you knew it when you read it. "This is slower than what Sato had done in his infancy." she would plainly say, looking over the face and thinking over it all. "The easiest way would have been to feed into whatever vice he gave into, dig deeper. If he drinks, make him splurge on his favored items, plus some new experimental one. Run it through an owned market, or some other shell company that would stock it. If drugs, another shadow transaction." She blinked a few times, her head spinning as all of the strains that had made their way into her lungs were beginning to sit, and not sit still with each other. She lifted her hand over her mouth, only to muffle a soft burp before looking over it again. "I could drain all of his funds without suspicion in a week. Run it through a dozen servers, burn them after to destroy a digital trace, a well as physical." She nodded, and smiled. "But for a student, and with what you have, this is very well done. I'm eager to see what you can do with the right tools in your hands."~ Word Count: 540 ~ |

"Kids don't turn into problems unless anybody makes them so.", frowned the blonde, no doubt speaking from experience, "Would you have grown into the chick you are now without anybody fucking with your childhood?" She didn't really mind the whole eating thugs, but kids was clearly a whole other matter. She proabably couldn't talk Kasey out of it, and didn't really deem it worth to stop her over it, even assuming she could. Even if somebody brought her down, who would take her place? Somebody arguably worse, no doubt about it: "Well, I suppose all ya gotta do is not go down then, don'tcha?", chortled the blazed blonde, winking at her deadpan friend, knowing all too well that she for one would be fucked if people found out she knew about the girl going around butching criminals and really didn't do anything to stop her. Reaching out and grabbing a couple unopened Blu Ox cans nearby, she tossed Kasey one and cracked open the other, taking a good long swing as she focused on the four screens in front of her. Sure, she'd be fucked if Kasey got found out but Kanna never had that kind of self preservation when it came to her motives though. In the end her desire to help Kasey resulted from much of the same pragmatism her teacher no doubt posessed as well. Whoever took her place if that happen would undoubtedly be worse. So long as they let the girl do her think, she'd kill all the crooks Pro heroes were not openly allowed to kill:
"Yknow what they say, it's easier to make money when you have money~", snickered the blonde, ruffling her head a little awkwardly at the sound of shell corporations, anything seemingly legitimate that could turn a big enough profit without drawing attention, "I mean I can easily find out all the shit he's been spending on. I don't currently have enough clean funds to set up a company that could justify profit of this scale. Gotta admit though, that's pretty fuckin brilliant."
Kanna really didn't have that kind of resources, and wouldn't have em for a long time, but Kasey most certainly did... And in all fairness, as a professional villain and the CEO of a multinational conglomerate, she probably knew a heck of a lot more about money laundering. She, on the other hand, knew a lot more about servers and what do with em, grinning proudly as the woman praised her work: "That's where all the money's going, if you're wondering... Once I process enough I can get my own servers and the speed will increase exponentially. In the end I'm just crunching numbers here... I guess ya can call it the brute force method? Ain't pretty or efficient, but works if you know how to pull it off.", she'd explain, but in the end, nothing quite compared to the way her lips widened into a grin as Kasey mentioned 'the right tools'. She may not really have them at hand, but she obviously had a plan, something to do with them in the off chance she got her hands on them, "If you give me some company to invest in, I can dump all the clean dosh I have into it. Then you process what remains through that company and pass it off as honest earnings. My shares go up in value, so I can sell 'em back to you for whatever price... Well, that's what I'd do with the right tools~"

There was always the battle of nature versus nurture. Kasey was born into what she believed was a loving home, at least until the first signs of her quirk was shown. Her horns, along with her sister were tolerated to that point. Until she was tossed aside like trash or a used garment. She was subjected to the darker shades of life, all at the hand she learned to remove. Kids were born into this world, and while their birthright may have given them the means to craft their own life, some had it far easier to dance in the dark. "Government funds your school. The government funds splinger groups to cleanse use from their once peaceful life." she spoke, her mind drifting over all of the faces. "Soon, some of the familiar faces you know, will have to be purged, before they learn a license to permit them to break laws, as RedHorn has."Kasey wasn't a chaotic evil. She had her own rules. Ideas and law held more value in her eyes than typical mortal lives. To trade a dozen unknowns for a single one she saw and understood, she would often do. Death was something you could not halt, to prevent it would only create different problems. People needed to be killed. They needed a threat to fight back. In her eyes, people needed to be culled, removed, and executed. Her utopia was in her reach. But for it, questionable things needed to be done. She needed to enlighten the world on the Will of Majinoki. As the can was tossed to her, while she would normally dismiss the idea and reject the kind offering, she threw it to her mouth, biting into it. Her teeth growing into fangs as they sunk into the metal, all of it sucking in the juices as her mind slipped back and forth between her realities. "The One-Percent always exist. It's just not often they reach out to the masses." The vote spoke out, the mouth from the chair itself, as the face stared at the ground from under the seat. There wasn't much to observe, only to supervise at this point. with the can emptied, she would bit down, the metal crunching in her mouth, before she would begin to remove it from her mouth, a metal puck. "It would be redundant to buy your own servers." Kasey would say, her high slowly slipping from her. "Make a shopping list, I'll have it all ready to go this week. You can set it up how you want, and away from you so you have no attachment to it. Do as you please, and all of it will fall on nameless goons and other criminals." it was easy enough, and with the ten servers she still had running, it wasn't hard to do that. She knew the tech better than Kasey did. All she could do was compare things online, but with state of the art things, and prototypes, it was hard to get accurate reviews. "If you want to play with an investment, let's move in on another company. I have a few things laying around. perhaps it's time for me to unretire Robotiks. Work on some weapons, give ASTA some competition."~ Word Count: 543 ~ |

It always seemed as thought if one were to remove the negative influences from a child's life, they could at least come out half decent. Humans were neither innately good nor evil, but unless hardened from a young age, all but the most psychotics showed some measure of concern for their fellows, out of principle if nothing else. Governments were different but they too obeyed a calling higher than themselves... That of the people who put them there. Those who lost that support wouldn't last long. As a hacktivist, Kanna knew all too well how the best way to bring down a government was simply eroding their base of support and letting it crumble under its own weight: "Yeah the government funds a lot of shit, some of it more half assed than others... But the govenrment changes with the public opinion really, that's what you gotta worry about.", spoke the blonde, narrowing her eyes at the notion. As they thankfully yet lived in a democracy, few policies would survive without the backing of a significant majority. Without that backing, they'd likely have a new government when the next elections came around, "Focus on the villains first. I mean the way you focus on the actual villains is how you managed to get so many people in your corner." She couldn't imagine who on earth would Kasey be referring to, sure, she could think of a bunch of people, really, but even Red Horn wasn't nearly as big a problem as Ishtar, Thundershock, and all the would be top villains. But granted, Kanna was a selfish woman in the end. She had very few people she cared about, who she'd care enough to protect, and at that point she cared very little at whose expense that came. That said, that list currently included Kasey herself: "When you put it like that, maybe I can still find some use for this dude's identity.", she noted, pointing her thumb at the bank extracts whose owner she was currently so preoccupied with bleeding dry, "...I can make you a list, sure, and come up with some way to keep the shadier shit under this dude's name." That said, if she was about to play the investment game, on a real tech company, Kanna wasn't overly concerned with some of it tracing back to her. That said, light cannot exist without shadow. Just as she needed technology and resources for legitimate needs, some of her less than legitimate work would just as easily benefit from less conspicuous: "Oh, now that's an idea I could get behind~", like a child just offered the keys to a candy shop, Kanna couldn't help but grin. So she already had a tech company lying around huh? Honestly, considering Ketsujo's outrageous size, she didn't really feel surprised at the idea of them having swallowed a smaller tech company and just kinda neglected it until the right opportunity came along. Kanna didn't really mind being that opportunity, after all, there was much for her to gain from this trade, perhaps even more than Kasey would, relatively speaking. Which shouldn't be too surprising, after all, the woman already had pretty much everything she wanted, "Sounds like a good way to launder all this cash, and who knows what I can come up with if I got that kinda resources huh?"

It was hard to say if you went back in time, did things differently, how large or small the impact would be. Would Kasey still be the same person if she practiced her quirk in secret? If she never showed her parents until she was old enough to support herself? What if Cherry was the one removed? Would Kasey forget her? Or would they have been together? One choice, a defining moment of someone's life. Killing just a butterfly in the past could have dire consequences on the future. A ripple of a million tiny changes to greatly warp the reality you know. Was it worth her time to think about what could have been? Or was it better to think about what will become? So many outcomes of all of the choices she made. Her own path was stunted, but those around her, she made sure they had the choices they wanted. "That much is true." her underground empire had been silent for so long. Working in the shadows, they had done their job to do enough to remain in the dark. No eyes cast on them, no attenion. It was how they got away with more and more. The Kobayashi Clan was just that, a clan. The Ketsujo prided themselves on being a family. A name they all understood but were smart enough to never say. Bones. They belonged to the army of the unnamed mistress. The one behind the mask, the one who had the power to erase people from society. Was their secrecy their own doing, or was it an act of power from herself? Kasey would never let them know the truth. For she didn't really know either. But it was the mystery that kept them all on their toes, and ever interested in the small curiosities of each other. Kasey sat at the top of some of the wealthiest people in Japan. Unlike Ishtar, she did not extend soft bargains or wishes. She offered a deal, one that opened and closed at it began. No strings attached. An ally today could be an enemy tomorrow. She knew that. It wasn't just villainy, it was just business. With the promise to put things under his name, Kasey smiled and nodded. "That's no fun. Why put crime on a nobody? There's a whole clan waiting to have their files packed with strange crimes."". . . As for the tech. What's mine, is yours." she would smile. "You lend me a bong, I lend you a few million yen. It's a win win. This bong isn't super important to you, and neither is money to me."~ Word Count: 438 ~ |

Hard to say feels like a colossal understatement. The way Kanna saw it, the thought experiment was akin to predicting the future, to understand what would happen if certain variables were removed from the equation. Sure, some impacts could be predicted, but like all predictions, many would likely turn out wrong the more time passed bewteen the start and the finish lines. She often wondered what might have happened to her if her dad hadn't been a colossal dirtbag and her mother a coward who left her behind... But she did know that kids with happier upbringings were far more likely to turn out, well... Better: "Heh... I guess that shit's more your area of expertise than mine huh~?", snickered the blonde, her smile widening as Kasey had a much better idea than simply pinning the crimes on somebody who was already behind bars, "...Gotta admit, I'm better at digging up secrets those morons are desperate to keep hidden and use them for all manners of activities." Blackmail, leaking them all over the web, giving it to the police... Now she could add "giving them to villain" to that list depending on the situation. As a hacker, Kanna excelled at digging up the truth, no matter how hard they buried it. Information, and proof whether that information was actually relevant in any way. As she spent longer in UA, she'd steadily given up most of her less than heroic approaches: "I mean I don't do much of the shit I used to anymore...", she shrugged, almost apologetic as she rubbed her hair, crooking her brow as she all but sighed, "...Guess I have picked up a thing or two from hero school after all, go figure~"
Mind you, Kanna hadn't lost none of her willingness to do what needed to be done, the fact that she was willing to work with Kasey here said as much... She'd just... Well, she probably just grew up a little from the hacktivist she once was, and her methods matured with her: "Heh... Sounds like a pretty fucking expensive bong if ya ask me...", she chortled, all but snorting at her comparision, laughing a little too loud. But then again, she too was blazed out of her mind, so... Shouldn't come as a surprised that she found that cheeky little quip one of the funniest shit she'd heard all night, "I swear, if ya found me a bong worth several million, I'm not sure i'd even use it for smoking... Oh who am I kidding of course I would~"
